I think the bolded part is the most important—and adequately answers the question implied in your statement. I could be wrong, but I don’t recall anyone here claiming Trump as a “true Christian”. I’m certainly not under that delusion. I think he would struggle to adequately quote ANY Bible verse. With that in mind, it shouldn’t be surprising Trump would not bat an eye when called “Prince of Peace”.
And I did carefully read the verses on the plaque. Note the syntax of Isaiah 9:6 (9:5 MT). There is more than one Jewish rendering of this verse, but this specific one reads such that all the appellatives/titles refer to YHWH (“He who is a Wondrous Advisor, Mighty G-d, Eternal Father…”) except “Prince of Peace”. In this particular Jewish understanding of this verse, the words “a child has been born to us, a son, has been given to us and the authority will rest on his shoulders” as well as the title “Prince of Peace” apply to Hezekiah. Thus, these Rabbis were appropriating a verse they understood to refer to Hezekiah to also refer to Trump. This is akin to the rabbinic midrashic approach.
In any case, I do think proclaiming Trump “Prince of Peace” in this context, and Trump accepting such, bears eyebrow-raising. Could this be a marker for the Antichrist? I think it could. But we cannot know definitively until the time when the Antichrist—whoever this will be—seats himself in the Temple (figuratively? literally?) and declares himself God. Until then, keep watchful, but make no definitive claims.

I think the bolded part is the most important—and adequately answers the question implied in your statement. I could be wrong, but I don’t recall anyone here claiming Trump as a “true Christian”. I’m certainly not under that delusion. I think he would struggle to adequately quote ANY Bible verse. With that in mind, it shouldn’t be surprising Trump would not bat an eye when called “Prince of Peace”.
And I did carefully read the verses on the plaque. Note the syntax of Isaiah 9:6 (9:5 MT). There is more than one Jewish rendering of this verse, but this specific one reads such that all the appellatives/titles refer to YHWH (“He who is a Wondrous Advisor, Mighty G-d, Eternal Father…”) except “Prince of Peace”. In this particular Jewish understanding of this verse, the words “a child has been born to us, a son, has been given to us and the authority will rest on his shoulders” as well as the title “Prince of Peace” apply to Hezekiah. Thus, these Rabbis were appropriating a verse they understood to refer to Hezekiah to also refer to Trump. This is akin to the rabbinic midrashic approach.

In any case, I do think proclaiming Trump “Prince of Peace” in this context, and Trump accepting such, bears eyebrow-raising. Could this be a marker for the Antichrist? I think it could. But we cannot know definitively until the time when the Antichrist—whoever this will be—seats himself in the Temple (figuratively? literally?) and declares himself God. Until then, keep watchful, but make no definitive claims.
