Hamas asks for EU inspections at Gaza Border

B R E A K I N G   N E W S

ANSAmed) - BEIRUT - Hamas said today that it is in favour of a reintroduction of EU inspections at the land border crossing of Rafah, between Egypt and the Gaza Strip, and the presence of EU ships off the coast of the Gaza Strip to inspect ships headed towards Gaza, ''so long as Israel does not interfere''. After a proposal launched by French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner to allow the EU to inspect traffic towards the Gaza Strip to assure the arrival of humanitarian aid, a Hamas political official in exile in Damascus said that ''European involvement would be welcome, but according to set conditions''. Speaking to pan-Arab network Al Jazeera, Izzat Rishq said that ''Hamas does not have any problem with accepting the reintroduction of European inspections at the Rafah border crossing, so long as there is no interference by Israel''. The EU BAM-Rafah mission (European Union Border Assistance Mission), which started at the end of 2005 and is formally still active, was suspended in June of 2007 for security reasons. ''As for sea inspections, we are ready to evaluate the proposal, as soon as it is formalised, but also in this case, the condition is that the Israeli authorities do not interfere directly or indirectly,'' said the Hamas official.(ANSAmed).
We need to watch this and related developments closely.

Stay tuned!

We continue to love and pray for Constance because she was one of the first to bring out this truth. May the Lord reward her greatly for her courage, now and forever! HD was scary when we first read it. Now it is beginning to come together for the UN at a rapid pace. They are making it very clear that they are an anti-Christ entity saying, that they “represent a powerful response to those who feed on exclusion and arrogantly claim the sole ownership of truth.”
What an arrogant statement! By saying this, the UN makes itself an exclusive executor of any power that goes against them. By saying this, the UN makes itself the exclusive purveyor of “truth” (their own twisted, brutal version of it). HD told us that they would especially be against Israel and Christianity, and this if for a reason. Because Jesus, when He comes again to set up His kingdom on earth, He will come to Jerusalem. God will fulfill His promises to redeem Israel. The Jews will turn to God and to His Son, Jesus Christ. The end of this scary story… WE WIN!

Let’s continue to pray and be vigilant. The spiritual battle is at full force now. Let’s make sure our relationship with Jesus is very solid by relying on the power of the Holy Spirit to help us become holy, to forsake all sin and to love each other dearly.

Seminary plans cross-training with other faiths
Allie Martin - OneNewsNow - 6/10/2010 6:45:00 AMBookmark and Share

UMC United Methodist Church logo smallAccording to a Christian renewal alliance, a California seminary affiliated with the United Methodist Church is revisiting its plans to launch schools of ministry for non-Christians.

Two years ago, officials at the Claremont School of Theology (CST) set in motion its plans for "The University Project" to "rethink classical models of theological education" as part of an effort promoting "interreligious cooperation" and training leaders in a number of religious traditions such as Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and others. One of the objectives, according to the project website, is to teach students to recognize the "legitimacy and integrity" of other religious traditions they will encounter in society.

In response, earlier this year the school was hit with an embargo on $800,000 from the United Methodist Church's Ministerial Education Fund; and also was sanctioned by the University Senate, which is concerned about CST's "proposed transformation from a school of theology to a university with schools of ministry."

Speaking at a press conference on campus Wednesday, CTS president Rev. Jerry Campbell said the world's religions need to work together for the common good. "There are many signs in our world that God is moving faster in this arena than our religions -- and we need to get in on it," he offered.

Campbell, who denied accusations the school is compromising Christian teaching and creating a "hybrid," acknowledged there has been opposition to the new program. "Some have suggested that I am renouncing Christianity by moving in this direction," he said. "[They're saying] that my job is not to make those who hold other religious beliefs comfortable around me, [but] to make them uncomfortable so that I can their minds. I disagree."

Mark TooleyMark Tooley, president of the Institute on Religion & Democracy, says the seminary's interfaith approach "seems to undermine the transcendent claims of all faiths, and treat religion as merely a prop for the secular culture's enchantment with multiculturalism and diversity."

It is hard to imagine, he adds, that adherents of other faiths would want to attend what he describes as a "declining, liberal" Protestant seminary.

"I can't imagine many Muslims or believing Hindus being very interested," he states. "I'm sure Unitarians ... and maybe very liberal Jewish students would feel comfortable there, but other than that I would not think that your potential interfaith audience share would be very large."

Tooley claims Claremont is revamping its plans in an effort to get the $800,000 released to the seminary.

How the Southern Poverty Law Center determines what is a "hate" group.
How the Illinois Family Institute came to be on their hate list.
http://www.illinoisfamily.org/

Last year, I wrote about the serious ethical problems that have long plagued the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). What prompted my initial article was the discovery that IFI was included on the SPLC's corrupt "Active U.S. Hate Groups" list. It's not just IFI that has lost respect for the SPLC. Among the many writers who have criticized the unscrupulous SPLC are Ken Silverstein who wrote an expose in Harper's Magazine and Myles Kantor who critiqued the SPLC in FrontPage Magazine.

Well, IFI is back on the Southern Poverty Law Center's malfunctioning radar--if it ever left. More precisely, I'm on Mark Potok's radar.

Potok is the director of the SPLC's "Intelligence Project" which tracks purported "hate groups." Unfortunately, under Mark Potok's leadership, the SPLC's ironically named "Intelligence Project" has become radicalized.

Last year in a phone conversation, Potok's assistant Heidi Beirich explained to me that the SPLC distinguishes between moral claims and hate. She affirmed that the SPLC does not include organizations on the "hate groups" list simply because they believe homosexuality is immoral. And yet, Potok has repeatedly put the lie to that assertion. He is either incapable of or for political reasons unwilling to distinguish between moral disapproval of homosexual acts and hatred of persons. Despite their assertions to the contrary, the SPLC considers groups to be "hate groups" that do not express hatred or engage in hate acts.

Living right now is like living in a cracked mirror where morality, government, and culture are thoroughly distorted. Everything is there although supposed leadership keeps trying to rationalize the distortions. Everything is unstable.

Religious Freedom in Context of Alliance of Civilizations.wmv

FYI Violent extremism by their standards are the beliefs of fundamentalist Christians, Orthodox Jews and terrorist Muslims.

Moral superiority means believing your religion is the only correct one. They believe that's a bad thing. See the note at 2:21

See the note at 3:12 which says that religions and the institutions that represent them...must be brought in under the leadership of the international civil bodies when it comes to questions concerning mutual
recognition, universal justice and lasting peace. Controlling what religions will be allowed to teach.)

Pause the video at 4:52 to read the text. This will be the allowed goal of religions. We will probably be allowed to keep our rituals as long as they incorporate the new goals of religion.

5:23 We are to focus on justice, love and compassion. I presume we are to skip advice about stealing, lying, adultery, murder, greed, etc. as well as any obligations to God.

Big pro-abortion meeting a wipeout except for the Gates contribution.

June 10, 2010
Women Deliver 2 Fails to Deliver, Ends With A Whimper

By Samantha Singson

(NEW YORK – C-FAM) Three thousand abortion advocates packed into the Washington, DC Convention Center this week for the Women Deliver 2 conference, a meeting aimed at increasing funding and government accountability for maternal mortality reduction strategies, including access to "safe abortion." While organizers closed the conference amid applause and cheers from a half-empty auditorium, outcomes fell far short of the ambitious funding goals set by organizers in the months leading up to the conference.

Thoraya Obaid Women Deliver brought together United Nations (UN) agencies like the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) and the World Health Organization and prominent abortion organizations like Ipas, International Planned Parenthood Federation, and Catholics for Choice, to call for an additional $12 billion USD a year in funding and to galvanize political support.

By the end of the conference the only significant new income came from the $1.5 billion USD initiative launched by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Political participation was similarly underwhelming. Unlike the original conference in London in 2007, Women Deliver 2 failed to produce a government document, though parliamentarians and government ministers were sequestered in closed-door meetings for much of the conference. ...

Let's put some things together. Glenn Beck has done more than anyone to expose the political end of the New Age movement here in the US. For those of you who don't get to see his shows, they are on youtube in segments.

Beck makes the information interesting because of his showmanship style, but it is solid information for the general public who are not ready for the bigger New Age international picture.

You need to learn what is happening at the US level before you jump into the larger international picture.

Here at the Glenn Beck website you can download the Revolution handbook written by Van Jones who was one of Obama's advisors. If you are
not familiar with Communist front activity, this is a good introduction. It came out in 2004.

Yes. The "scientific" medical people push Eastern Religions/New Age. A while back, after a heart attack, I was urged to go for heart rehab at a local medical center. Among other classes there they have meditation and other classes based on religious beliefs of Hindus and New Agers and Buddhists. But they would never acknowledge that's what they are. I was urged to take part. I declined.

Peace Be With You!

I agree with Dorothy:

We cannot overlook Mr. Beck as we cannot overlook Mrs. Cumbey or anyone else doing the work of exposing the evil works of Satan. Everyone who serves good and truth are valuable to the kingdom of God. The world needs Mr. Beck to continue his work, the world needs Mrs. Cumbey and the world needs every single one of us who are not afraid to stand against the venom of evil. There are reports from church that the youth see entities at night in their bedroom every night. They cannot sleep because of them and have to keep the lights on, but they still come. The girls report that these demons get closer and closer each night until they begin to lay themselves on top of them in bed and begin to do perverted things. At church we can pray from their deliverance and we do, and with the tireless work of the Cumbeys and Becks we can also tell them exactly why this is happening to them. It is happening because these kids listen to metal rock or these new rap and r&b artists who are doing the work of the NWO. They have lyrics and symbology which promote illuminati, freemason and demonic submission.

However, many kids know what they are doing and want to be part of the NWO. They believe that the NWO are the winners because they have more fun and happy, and that the Church and whistle blowers are the losers because they are not.

It is hard work in the “war room” of intelligence and research, and it is also hard work in the “trenches” of the church. We are at war, and it is more important than ever to be united in the name of Jesus Christ, to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit to resist sin and avoid being misled, and to display blameless Christian character so people can see stop believing the lie that we are not the sad losers, but know we are the joyous winners, full of confidence and peace and tireless love as we confront evil.

Yoga is also promoted as a form of exercise. You'll never lose weight with Yoga. Not too many people even realize that it's actually a religious practice and is not intended for physical activity or relaxation. I believe it has to do with reaching some altered state of conscience.

If people want to relax, they should try taking a nap.

Anon 8:20,

My wife works in health care, particularly home care and hospice. As many know there is a huge advance of Reiki, Yoga, and other eastern mystic and meditative practices across much of health care these days. These practices are being prescribed by doctors, which can and will most likely lead to a dangerous effect. As many insurance companies are set up so that if a patient does not follow a doctor's orders or prescription, said company can deny payment of a claim. Thus saddling the patient with the full bill for their care, all for refusing to participate in a practice they find religiously reprehensible.

The same can be applied to Medicare or Medicaid, as they too can deny payment based on the level of cooperation of a patient in their prescribed plan of care. I have not looked to see how far these types of denials have spread, but I would be interested to know. Call it what you will, but my view is that such a thing amounts to little more that economic warfare against religious freedom.

Warning to Britain as almost half of Belgium's euthanasia nurses admit to killing without consent

End of life: Euthanasia is legal in Belgium but must only be carried out by a doctor and with the patient's permission. (Posed by models)

A high proportion of deaths classed as euthanasia in Belgium involved patients who did not ask for their lives to be ended, a study found.

More than 100 nurses admitted to researchers that they had taken part in 'terminations without request or consent'.

Although euthanasia is legal in Belgium, it is governed by strict rules which state it should be carried out only by a doctor and with the patient's permission.

The disturbing revelation - which shows that nurses regularly go well beyond their legal role - raises fears that were assisted suicides allowed in Britain, they could never be properly regulated.
(more at the link)

From the comments:
As President of the Hospice Patients Alliance in the USA, I've heard from family members about involuntary euthanasias being performed for the past twelve years. I've even had terminal patients call and say they were being forced to take morphine and other medications against their will.

As a nurse I have seen many things including the hastening of death of patients through various means. Nurses who protest such crimes are often retaliated against by management. Hastening death and/or outright euthanasia is de facto legal (when the patient is "terminal") in the USA because no government prosecutor will charge nurses with a crime.

Anyone who thinks these killings are rare is completely out-of-touch with the realities of health "care." James Bond had a license to kill and some nurses have a license and kill many more!

In the June, 2010 edition of the CATHOLIC WORLD REPORT there is an article entitled BUSINESS AS USUAL.

It looks like Reiki - which is redolent of the "force" called Animal Magnetism which was "discovered" and promoted by 18th-century quack Anton Mesmer - is being peddled under new labels.

BUSINESS AS USUAL (UPDATE)
A year after the U.S. Bishops condemned it, Reiki is still offered at some Catholic facilities.

Last May, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops issued a statement condemning the occult practice of Reiki. That statement has had an ambiguous impact on religious orders, convents, retreat houses, and hospitals.

In the May statement, the bishops warned that Reiki blurs the line between science and superstition. Yet Reiki is still being practiced at some Catholic facilities, sometimes under other aliases. The bishops' statement is viewed in many quarters as an "opinion" rather than an authoritative condemnation.

Laurie Lumby Schmidt, who runs Authentic Freedom Ministries in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, openly champions Reiki and has defended it in publications such as the National Catholic Reporter. In a phone interview with CWR, Schmidt said Authentic Freedom Ministries provides "support for the spiritual journey" and caters to Catholics, but is not connected with any diocese. "I offer Reiki as part of my spiritual ministry," she said.

Schmidt considers herself Catholic, saying that she learned
Reiki from Franciscan sisters and the sisters of Mercy. "I disagree with the bishops' document. I believe as Christians, we're called to follow Jesus' example through compassion and healing. Jesus healed through touch. Many (scientific) studies have shown that Reiki supports relaxation, healing, stress relief....the Mayo Clinic uses Reiki."

The bishops' document "saddens" Schmidt because "people won't be able to share Reiki as part of their ministry." She adds, "God has led me to Reiki as a spiritual tool. I have had nothing but grace. I can't abide by the bishops' prohibition as a matter of conscience." Schmidt wonders why the bishops have targeted Reiki in particular, since "there are tons of hands-on healing modalities."

The Living Water Spiritual Center in Winslow, Maine, is run by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Lyon. Barbara Joseph provided Reiki as one of her many services at the retreat center. In a phone interview, Joseph said, "I have a variety of skills. I am a healing arts practitioner, I've done cranio-sacral, energy-based body work since 1990. I also do whole food organic nutrition. I give private Reiki sessions and always offer Reiki training. Yes, I still do Reiki there ( the Living Water Spiritual Center). I enjoy going over there.

She noted that she is not affiliated with the sisters of St. Jospeh of lyon. Describing her background, Jospeh said that she was raised Jewish, but is now a "spiritual being who strives to live a life of service and goodwill personally, professionally and globally." Joseph considers the Living Water Spiritual Center merely a venue for her work. So far, the Sisters have declined to comment about offering Reiki at their center.

According to the website of Villa Maria, a retreat center run by the Sisters of the Humility of Mary in Villa Maria, Pennsylvania, Reiki has been offered there. But that mention was removed from the site after this writer brought it to the center's attention. James Merhaut, the CEO of the retreat center, said in an e-mail, "We stopped offering Reiki for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, we stopped because the bishops' document called us to discontinue the offering. Secondly, we probably would have stopped anyway because we were getting few registrants for Reiki."

Merhaut said that Villa MAria now offers "therapeutic massage" as an alternative, because it has "scientifically vrifiable benefits." He said that massage is a "common practice in catholic parishes, Catholic retreat centers, and Catholic health care facilities."

Reiki goes under various aliases, such as Energy Healing, Healing Touch, Therapeutic Massage, and Quantum Touch. These "healing modalities" still speak of "energy," and are Reiki in all but name. they speak of a vague cosmic force that the practitioner controls for a fee. Insidiously, Christian terminology and even Scripture are often used to cover occult practices. Gnosticism is given a Christian guise. To make matters worse, some practitioners openly mimic sacraments. New Age practices are perversely "baptized" simply by using Christian language, objects and rituals.

At the Christine Center in Willard Wisconsin, which was founded by the Wheaton Franciscans in 1980, Roberta Hodges offers "quantum touch." Hodges calls it "revved-up, amplified Reiki; energy is energy." She said that it's superior to Reiki because it has yoga breathing. In a phone interview, Hodges said, "Quantum Touch raises life-force energy. It's beneficial on the emotional level. Out emtional traumas that are buried can come to the surface....It's a mysterious thing."

cont...

Susanna said...

Sr. Ceciali Corcoran, who heads the Board of Directors at the Christine Center, discussed the bishops' prohibition in a phone interview. Corcoran said,"We don't do Reiki here. We don't advertise it. We support bodywork like massage.... Personally, I don't have problems with Reiki and Healing Touch therapy." It is important to note that Sr. Cecelia links Reiki with "Healing Touch," illustrating how similar these practces are in the view of their adherents.

Healing Touch is also popular at Catholic hospitals. Tammy Dragel, a Healing Touch coordinator at St. Joseph's hospital in Tampa, Florida, defines it as an "energy-based modality that complements conventional therapies." She said that she hasn't taken any Reiki classes. Like Reiki, Healing Touch claims to be "energy-based."

Healing Touch is also available at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, run by the Sisters of Mercy. Coordinator, Marcia gill declined to comment, as did Barbara Stanivuk of St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, Indiana, managed by the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ.

Christina Brugman of Kirkland, Washington, provides Healing touch to the retired Sisters of St. Jospeh of Peace. She defines Healing Touch as an "energy-based healing system." Brugman considers the bishops' document "interesting." She said she considers herself Christian, but has a Catholic background. Brugman compares energy to sunlight and water, which is available to all regardless of religious affiliation. In a phone interview, she commented, "I don't understand the thinking of the bishops."

Linda Smith leads the Healing Touch Spiritual Ministry in Denver, Colorado. She also belongs to the board of Energy medicine Credentialing, Inc. Smith differentiated between Healing Touch and Reiki, saying,"Reiki is under a belief system of being empowered by a master. Healing Touch Spiritual Ministry is Judeo-Christian. God's healing grace flows through a person. We're conduits." Smith was a Catholic nun for 27 years, but made the "personal decision to move on." She said she started her healing ministry in 1997.

Methodists, Lutherans, and Episcopalians. We're not talking about dogma and theology, but Scripture." Smith said that healing Touch works with "therapeutic-grade essential oils like hyssop and cedarwood." She described Healing Touch as "vibrational healing: laying on of hands, prayer, and anointing with oil." Clinical aromatherapy is another component.

Smith thinks it is Biblical. "In the Old Testament, God gave Moses the formula for anointing oil. He had to anoint the tabernacle, the cups, and sacrificial animals." Smith used the example of the healing of lepers, saying, "The priests were putting oil on the crown chakra to restore the leprous person." She considers essential oils as providers of physical, emotional and spiritual health.

Reiki, Quantum Touch, and Healing Touch are part of a spectrum of occult practices offered to Catholics, often by Catholics, frequently at Catholic institutions. At the Christine Center, vision quests, Mahamudra (a Tibetan Buddhist meditation practice), full moon yoga, and kirtan (Hindu devotional song) retreats are offered. The Living water Spiritual Center has programs on New Age author Eckhart Toll's books, such as THE NEW EARTH. and on the Enneagram. There are labrynths at the Franciscan Retreat Center at Mount St. Francis in Colorado and the Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center in Connecticut.

New Age practices have seeped into religious orders and institutions; Reiki is merely one example in this constellation.

Fr. Thoman Weinandy, executive director of the Secretariat for Doctrine of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, said in a phone interview that it is up to individual dioceses to discipline these orders. It is the responsibility of local bishops to enforce the guidelines concerning Reiki, he said...........

Indeed, this practice is already 'legal' in Oregon. How long till this is 'legalized' in each of our own states?

Supreme Court Allows Use of Federally Controlled Drugs to Assist Suicide
BY Burke J. Balch, J.D.

"On January 17 the United States Supreme Court struck down the Bush Administration position that federally controlled narcotics and other dangerous drugs cannot be used to kill patients. However, in Gonzales v. Oregon, the Court merely said the Administration had incorrectly interpreted the Controlled Substance Act, and made clear that if Congress chooses, it has the constitutional authority to act to bar the use of federally controlled drugs to assist suicide."

"At present, Oregon is the only U.S. jurisdiction with a law that specifically authorizes assisting suicide. (Although most states prohibit it by statute or, arguably, by case law, seven other states have no laws whatsoever on assisting suicide.) In practice, all the reported cases of legalized assisted suicide in Oregon have used federally controlled drugs."

"In 1997, Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and Representative Henry Hyde (R-Il,), who chaired the Judiciary Committees in the Senate and House, respectively, wrote the Drug Enforcement Administration urging the DEA to prevent the use of federally controlled drugs in Oregon's assisted suicide program. DEA Administrator Thomas Constantine agreed such use would violate federal law."

"However, Clinton Administration Attorney General Janet Reno overturned his ruling. She directed that while the DEA might take action against someone using controlled drugs to assist suicide in other states, it could not do so in a state that had specifically legalized the process as a matter of state law."

"...we must be wary of those who are too willing to end the lives of the elderly and the ill. If we ever decide that a poor quality of life justifies ending that life, we have taken a step down a slippery slope that places all of us in danger. There is a difference between allowing nature to take its course and actively assisting death. The call for euthanasia surfaces in our society periodically, as it is doing now under the guise of 'death with dignity' or assisted suicide. Euthanasia is a concept, it seems to me, that is in direct conflict with a religious and ethical tradition in which the human race is presented with 'a blessing and a curse, life and death,' and we are instructed '...therefore, to choose life.'"
"I believe 'euthanasia' lies outside the commonly held life-centered values of the West and cannot be allowed without incurring great social and personal tragedy."

Susanna,

Keep up the good work. You were adding to the conversation, which a single link would not have done. If it is too much of a inconvenience for someone to read a post, I don't know why I should believe that they would follow a link to read a story. I agree that your posts can be long, but as SV pointed out, we can't get to the bottom of things with a fast food mentality. It is not that hard to scroll past or collapse a extensive comment if someone doesn't want to read it.

Recently the state of Washington legalized euthanasia. There are many links to this information. As I was told in the past, a bill to legalize euthanasia is introduced each year into many states, but the bill doesn't get enough sponsors to introduce it.

I just saw that story on Drudge, I think. Anyone see the movie "The Minority Report"? How eerily similar....and how fitting for some of the research being done here exposing the dangers of the surveillance society that is all around us.

I think we all need to start thinking about how to "disappear" from the system. Maybe that adds another level of understanding to the verse that says "come out of her my people"??

And Susanna, you get my utmost admiration for typing in that long article from the Catholic World Report (and no doubt others you have posted as well).

Do any of you see a connection between what is now happening in the Gulf of Mexico and Revelation 8:8-9?

Rev 8:8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea:and the third part of the sea became blood;

Rev 8:9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

You are correct in that we are told to watch and pray during this day. In watching it is easy to assign current events to fit the Revelation prophecies.

That is something this blog often comments on. And so we do wonder if certain prophecies are being fulfilled.

That said, however, I doubt that the Gulf crisis is a fulfillment of Rev. 8:8,9. It seems that the seals and trumpets happen in chronological order, 1st, 2nd, etc. Since the trumpets happen when the 7th seal is opened, we would have to acknowledge that the first 6 seals have occurred.

I do believe it is very likely that at least the first 3 to 5 seals may have been opened. Some have questioned regarding the Iceland volcano fulfilling the 6th seal (turning the sun black and the moon red). I personally do not feel that has happened yet. I do think that we are seeing the beginning stages of the 4th and 5th seal.

I do not believe we have seen the 1st and 2nd trumpets. No hail and fire mingled with blood, nor 1/3 of the trees burned up. We have not seen all green grass burned up.

I also believe that we need to see some other key political things happen before we see these particular trumpets happen.

I expect others will have differing opinions. Read. Know the word. Watch and pray.

Off topic but pertinent. I had this blog post pointed out to me, which deals with the specifics of the Gulf disaster. Normally I might try to break something like this down, but this piece does a better job than I ever could. In a nut shell, this article shows that the damage to the well is sub-surface, structural, and MUCH MUCH worse than most reports would have you believe. The article also shows with major and reputable sources that officials have already admitted to such, and few have picked up on it.

If my level of understanding is accurate, the proposed fixes will not solve this problem, and may actually make the situation worse. As the proposed solutions deal with only the leaking pipe, or revolve around the use of relief wells, which may do more damage to a already fragile area. I recommend reading this article, watching the associated videos, and following the links.

RMC,

Having worked with wells (water) before, I have a bit of knowledge of how they work and what can go wrong with a casing leak. Essentially a casing is the only barrier (besides the natural i.e. ocean floor, earth's surface) preventing a full blown breach of a well. The only thing that holds a well casing in place is the soil around it and gravity pushing on said soil.

With a casing leak, you erode what holds the casing in place, in this case the majority of which is salt and sand. If the casing becomes dislodged, you will essentially have a free flow of oil. Once this occurs the flow will intensify as time passes because as it escapes from the hole left by the casing, it will continue to erode the walls from where it escapes.

This will most likely continue until one of three things happen, 1) The well runs dry, given that I am not sure how much oil we are talking in this well I don't know how bad such could get. 2) The well runs low enough that pressure could cause a sea floor collapse. I have seen water wells collapse, it's not pretty. Given the size of a oil well, that much displaced mass and energy I assume might produce a massive tsunami. 3) Those in charge find a way to collapse the well on itself. I am not sure how this could be done, but it does lend to the ideas that I have seen floating around about a nuclear device. I am not sure how wise this would be given the pressure associated with the area, and the possibility of igniting the well.

I am not a oil expert, so I can not comment on too much of this with any certainty. I do know the basic principles of any well, and a leaking casing is bad. At least above ground gravity keeps your product below the surface, unless it is pressurized like a spring or oil well. Given the issues we have seen with their ability to simply cap a leaking pipe at this depth, my confidence is not very high that a full blowout of the well casing could be handled AT ALL.

If crisis does indeed equal opportunity, I don't know that they have EVER had a larger opportunity than this presents.

I think it behoves us to keep Russia in our crosshairs.

With regard to Russian involvement in the New Age Movement, we might also want to keep in mind that H.P. Blavatsky was originally from Russia and it has been suggested that she was deployed to the West by various forces in Russia which included the Okhrana (Tsarist Secret Police).

It wouldn't be the first time that an occultist worked for an intelligence agency.

Of course, before Blavatsky came into the picture, a precedent had already been set for this sort of thing when Johannite "mystic" Madame Marguerite-Therese des Innard Bouche ( a.k.a. "Sister Salome") was deployed to the Russian court - probably by the French Martinists/Johannites in order to infiltrate and influence the "Holy Alliance" which included Russia, Austria and Prussia.

However, Madame Bouche didn't last long and was unceremoniously supplanted by another "mystic," Baroness Barbara Juliane von Krudener whose father happened to be a leading Freemason.

My hope is the United Methodist Church withdraws all support for this theological seminary. It definitely shows how the new age movement has been eroding our denomination. I'm quite stunned by this development. It's almost as stunning as the tornado that hit our church last Sunday morning.

Interesting piece from Julien Frisch blog on EU trying to pass law on internet searches. Another scheme to "watch" people under the guise of security.

According to Europaportalen.se, MEPs have started to withdraw their signatures from a controversial EP declaration.

The declaration that would become an official European Parliament position if at least 369 signatures from MEPs were collected demands that search engine searches should be part of the data retention directive, all this under the pretext of the fight against pedophilia.

This declaration, if I understand correctly, would effectively mean (if translated into EU law) that every search that we do on the net would have to be stored for two years and made accessible to the security authorities if requested.

After Europaportalen.se Journalist Christian Wohlert reported about the issue last week, it became news in the UK and in Sweden and it also has been noted with concern in Germany and in France.

At least, the news coverage was successful: According to Wohlert, 22 MEPs have withdrawn their signatures so far.

Yet, there are still 309 MEPs left who think that every EU citizen is a potential pedophile and that each of our searches needed to be stored and made available if the police and other security forced wanted to know more about us - the EP at its best!

Finding official EU information & documents

The EU is a messy place.

But: There is nothing better than the list of official document registers from EU institutions, agencies and other bodies on the Europa.eu website to start with when you are looking for the raw stuff, the originals, the backgrounds, the hidden treasures, the lovely bull**** language produced by administrators, diplomats, politicians, and lawyers to make our life better (and theirs, because they make a living on producing all these documents).

I promise, you will love it!

Better thinker,

Wacky? Hope not.

Yes Na provided you with a very patient and thoughtful response. Mercy, patience, and/or tolerance is quite appropriate towards someone who seeks to discuss these matters, but it is NOT appropriate towards someone who knowingly promotes error or just wants to stir up trouble.

The keyword, of course, is "knowingly". No, I am not making an accusation, so don't take it personal. I am merely stating a fact.

John's vision describes the wrath of God. The text is not ambiguous.

Rev 8:7 The first angel sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. [fn] And a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.

Rev 8:8 Then the second angel sounded: And [something] like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood.

Rev 8:9 And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

Rev 8:10 Then the third angel sounded: And a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water.

Rev 8:11 The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter.

Rev 8:12 Then the fourth angel sounded: And a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day did not shine, and likewise the night.

So, does Rev 8:8 really sound to you like it fits the oil leak in the gulf? Taken completely out of context, one verse could be twisted any number of ways, yet that particular passage is part of a package deal, surrounded as it is, by the rest of Holy Scripture.

I would offer the same advice to you that I find I have to keep telling myself, which is....

2Ti 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

This was a statement by Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit on Nile-TV. It was made on the «Round table show».

This is the statement recorded:

Adul Gheit said he had a one-on-one meeting with Obama, where the US President told him that He was still a Muslim, the son of a Muslim father, the step son of Muslim stepfather, that his half brothers in Kenya are Muslims, and that he was sympatetic towards the Muslim agenda.

Adul Gheit claimed Obama told the Arabs to show patience. Obama promised that once he overcame some domestic issues, like the Health care reform, he would show the Muslim World how to deal with Israel.

I didn't notice anything overtly new age, but I did noticed that it was pretty gimmicky. I think it dumbs down the gospel message and doesn't treat children as if they can "get it" without all the music, and bright colors and wild activities. Here is something interesting that a lot of people are not aware of.

Even though Iranians profess the religion of Islam, in terms of their language and ethnicity, the Iranians are NOT true Arabs. In terms of blood ties, they are NOT of Semitic origin!!!

On the other hand, the people of Saudi Arabia and of Israel ARE of Semitic origin. Morover, both the Arab and Hebrew peoples are not only the Biblical descendants of Noah's son, Shem (Sem), but both are also descended from Abraham.

See:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shem

True Arabs regard themselves as having descended from Abraham through Ishmael. And, of course, the people of Israel are the descendents of Abraham through Isaac and Jacob.

The Baha'i faith, which was founded in 19th-century Persia states in its writings that it was Ishmael, and not Isaac, who was the son that Abraham almost sacrificed.

And don't think for one minute that the Arabs - including Saudi Arabia - are not fully aware of the fact that Iranians are not true Arabs. Every Muslim I have known has at one time or another pointed this out to me personally.

Iran is the name of a country that was formerly known as Persia. Ethnically and linguistically, the Iranian people are of Indo-Iranian origin.

Zoroastrianism had its origins in Persia and was one of the elements in the dualistic Gnostic heresy known as Manichaeism.

Indo-Iranian peoples are a linguistic group consisting of the Indo-Aryan (including the Dardic), Iranian and Nuristani peoples; that is, speakers of Indo-Iranian languages, a major branch of the Indo-European language family.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indo-Iranians
_____________________________

Again, the name "Iran" came into use internationally in 1935 before which the country was widely known as Persia.

Iran means "land of the Aryans."

Hmmmmm. Where have we heard that term "Aryan" before?

Check out the following.

GERMAN-IRANIAN RELATIONS

By the early 1930s, Reza Pahlavi's close ties with Nazi Germany began worrying the Allied states[8]. Germany's modern state and economy highly impressed the Shah, and there were hundreds of Germans involved in every aspect of the state, from setting up factories to building roads, railroads and bridges.[9] .

The Shah went on to ask the international community to use the native name of "Iran" in 1935[10] to address to his country, which in Persian means 'Land of the Aryans' and refers to Airyanem Vaejah, the Avestan name of the original homeland of the Aryans. Although the country has been known as Iran to the native people themselves for many centuries, Westerners came to know the nation as Persia through Ancient Greek accounts. Iranians were immune to the racial Nuremberg Laws on the grounds that they were pure blooded Aryans...

Susanna,

Biblically, Iran did descend though from Shem, it was originally called Elam. Elam was located to the east of Babylon

Genesis 10:
21 Also to Shem, the father of all the children of Eber, and the older brother of Japheth, children were born.
22 The sons of Shem were Elam and Asshur and Arpachshad and Lud and Aram.

Susanna said...

Leana,

That is partly correct.

It is nearly unanimous however, that Madai, a son of Japheth, was the ancestor of the Medes who settled in modern day Persia. Along with the Semitic Elamites, the line of Madai were ancestors of the Persians as well.

As stated above, Madai was said to be one of two grandsons of Noah responsible for the Persian Empire.

It was by means of Madai and his descendants that the Aryans arose. The Aryans later also moved into India, and became the ancestors of the Indian peoples.

However, regardless of any ancient Elamite influence, the point is that historically, this influence disappeared to such a degree on account of the Aryan influence that Arabs do not acknowledge the Persians/Iranians as true Arabs.

In fact, Iranians themselves often take great umbrage at being confused with Arabs.

Anonymous said...

Susanna,
I can confirm some of what you are saying. I had a Iranian friend (a good christian man) that definately bristled when he was mistaken as an Arab.
