“We don’t know whether it was deliberately targeted or not but there are papers out there that show the racial or ethnic differential and impact,” Kennedy hedged.

Kennedy’s remark echoes well-worn anti-Semitic literature blaming Jews for the emergence and spread of coronavirus which began circulating online shortly after the pandemic broke out, according to The Center for the Study of Contemporary European Jewry at the University of Tel Aviv’s 2021 Antisemitism Worldwide Report.
A 2020 Oxford University study found nearly 1 in 5 British people believed Jews created the coronavirus pandemic for financial gain.
“No no no no no,” said Dr. Monica Gandhi Professor of medicine and infectious disease at the University of California, San Francisco, and a longtime critic of pandemic-related school closures. “I don’t see any evidence that there was any design or bioterrorism that anyone tried to design something to knock off certain groups.”
Jewish organizations blasted Kennedy for his remarks.

Excerpt: Pregnant women are being urged to get a Covid booster jab this autumn to protect their newborn child after a study found babies to be far more vulnerable to the virus than other childhood age groups.
Apart from protecting the mother, being vaccinated reduces the risk of passing Covid onto offspring in the early months of their life.
And, crucially, the jab will protect the newborn baby, which will have absorbed antibodies from the mother’s vaccine during pregnancy.
Researchers found that under-ones accounted for 34 per cent of hospitalisations among under-18s in England, despite making up only 5 per cent of the childhood population, according to the study published in the BMJ journal .
This is thought to be because babies tend to get sicker with respiratory infections than other children as their immune systems are underdeveloped and they are meeting these infections for the first time.
Pregnant women were offered boosters last year and are expected to be offered them again this autumn, though the Government has yet to make a final decision on who will be eligible.
Scientists say it is especially important for pregnant women to be vaccinated, as it helps protect both mothers and babies – who cannot be vaccinated in the first six months of their lives, with only the most vulnerable being vaccinated after that.
While Covid cases are much lower than they have been for some time, there are an estimated 50,000 new symptomatic cases a day, according to the Zoe Healt h Study . Cases are expected to rise in the coming months.
“We knew babies are more vulnerable in general but I was surprised by quite how big a proportion of admissions babies were,” Professor Christina Pagel, of University College London, told i .
“While most of the time these babies are fine in the end, it’s still clearly not great to be in hospital at that age, for the baby or the parents. And we don’t know what the long-term impacts of Covid are in babies with still-developing immune systems.”
“I would encourage pregnant women to get a vaccine booster. It protects them, as pregnancy makes you more vulnerable to severe disease, and it protects their newborn for a few months,” Professor Pagel added.
Given the protective benefits of the vaccine for the baby, some scientists say there may be a case for timing the vaccination to maximise the benefit to the child over the best time for the mother – which may not be when the booster campaign dictates.
