I apologize to all for my slight presence both in writing and reading comments. I had a severe bout of eye strain that required recent emergency in-eye shots for macular degeneration in my strongest eye. Both my eyes had cataract surgeries, with the surgery for the right eye being more successful than the left. I have another retinal specialist visit scheduled for this Friday, October 29th. Fortunately, I have an excellent doctor -- but I have had to religiously avoid eye strain, and a lot of close reading and computer usage.
With that being said, however, I have attempted to keep up with youtube big screen TV viewing on relevant topics. I also hear from many, including Grant from New Zealand and Rich of Medford.
What is happening now? It is occurring almost too fast on too many fronts to intelligently and cohesively synthesize. However, major developments include:
1. The two present great white hopes of Lucis Trust / World Goodwill appear to be:

Excommunicated (1993) former Roman Catholic Dominican Priest Matthew Fox (now an Episcopalian priest), a main purveyor of "Cosmic Christ", anti-Christian morality standards, and earth worship, is now openly bragging that Pope Francis Laudato Si Encyclical was written by one of Matthew Fox's main Creation Spirituality (i.e. Earth Worship) students.
3. The Pope virtually declared war on EWTN for adhering opposing these and other Vatican developments, calling his opposition "of the Devil." Given my past history with Matthew Pacwa, the Jesuit priest running much of EWTN, I wish I had faith in EWTN's ability to withstand the Pope's demand that they abandon those stands. Both Randy England (a cradle-Catholic and author of UNICORN IN THE SANCTUARY) were come against by Pacwa in the early 1990's for our opposition to Matthew Fox. Pacwa clearly owed us both apologies -- none have ever been received, at least by Yours Truly. My information on the Pacwa "reaming" came from Randy England, himself, approximately 15 years ago. I did, however, encouragingly see that a portion of his book about the extreme heresies connected with Fox were up on EWTN's library website. The article I wrote about Pacwa and my concerns about his running of EWTN were published on this blogspot, and I am attaching a link to it here for those wishing to refresh those memories. You’ve previously cited that same factcheck.org article in the first 200 comments on this very blog post. I didn’t post any reply then, because I didn’t feel it was worth wasting my time on such an article that is obviously biased. First, it states “Republicans” without qualification, as opposed to “Some Republicans”. Then it uses the word “Spins”, which implies impure motives. What if, for the sake of argument, we accept that “some Republicans” merely misunderstood the information? Imputing motive indicates clear bias. Further, this article takes some of these Republican’s statements out of context. And I’m not going to waste any further time trying to explain how this was done.
Fauci had previously used and accepted the term “gain-of-function” when Rand Paul grilled him back in July, but now he wants to claim the ePPP term instead, with its different, more limited application (the typical moving goalposts we see ad infinitum). Where did Paul get the term “gain-of-function” in the first place? He didn’t just make it up. It was the very term used and accepted by Fauci and the NIH.
But this is the kicker right here (from the article):

No evidence? There is MOUNTING evidence. Moreover, there are multiple articles that point to the possibility, if not probability that CV19 was bio-engineered.
As to the Salon article, it is so laughably biased as to require no further comment.

Rand twists words and intentions in equally egregious manners and does so, unfortunately, as a representative of the people versus a media outlet seeking clicks.
I don’t see the evidence as “mounting”. The retraction I don’t see as evidence it happened but, rather, as an acknowledgement (shared by many throughout this whole ordeal) that the lab or research involved leak theory has not really been ruled out. “Bioengineered” would be another leap beyond just an accident.
Gain of function research has happened. Obama put a hold on it and the dangers and ethics were studied and analyzed over several years to come up with safer guidelines and protocols. As I recall some GOF research that had already commenced was even given special permission to continue despite the moratorium. I don’t think this grant was one of those instances but it was a Chinese institute free to do or not do GOF or near GOF research on its own outside of NIH or eco health research grants protocols/parameters as well. The us moratorium has/had no absolute ability to stop GOF research worldwide. The point here being If it was happening in Wuhan and Fauci knew it, there’d be no reason for Dr Fauci to cover it up or hide such. Lab leak is a known risk of any virus research and it’s not like he’d be personally liable. He could/would just deny we were paying for that as it was outside the eco health grant. It’s not like Dr Fauci worked himself in the lab and if he’s responsible just because he was the department head. If so then his bosses are likewise responsible for this supposed infraction and supposed coverup as well which indicts the whole Trump administration.

There has been zero evidence the vaccines are seriously effecting fertility and fetuses. Further, I think Pfizer was likely to most highly recommended vaccine for pregnant women as doctors were aware it was a smaller, yet life saving sufficiently sized dise of mRNA vaccine.
Miscarriages happen and 2400 fetal deaths sounds like an incredibly small number especially considering such fetal death likely include some mommy Covid hospitalizations and even deaths as well as the current, small but steady baby boom taking place in many parts of the country.

Without reading through the article you just posted, I’d say I agree with Lipsitch’s stance. We don’t know the full story. However, it sure appears that the Wuhan lab is the origin (the original ‘wet market’ story never sounded right to me—and it sure sounds more ‘racist’ than the claim of origination at the Wuhan lab). Did it leak inside or outside the lab? Or is that really a distinction with a difference?
The Wuhan lab experimented with bat coronaviruses. The lab apparently did gain-of-function research; i.e., experiments to make ‘ronavirus more transmissible to humans. For what apparent good, I’ve no idea. Sounds like a great way to make a bioweapon, though.
The Wuhan lab reportedly had hygiene standards akin to that of a dental office, so why expect that nothing could or would go wrong eventually? That’s negligence at best. And the way I understand the connections, it puts EcoHealth and NIH as culpable. That includes Fauci.

Usually it was to correct someone else's posts as regards scientific data. S/He is the first I'd seen to point to Watts Up With That as containing good info to counter "Global Warming"/"Climate Change" climate alarmism. S/He also commented about "ClimateGate", pointing to its legitimacy.
