I was quietly working at my computer tonight, trying to figure out how to use Zoom for communication. I spent a few hours watching how to YouTube videos and reviewing some books in my library. I finally decided it was time to call it a night and retire to bed.
My husband called out, "Connie, have you seen this?" I thought perhaps he was watching a movie or had made a YouTube music video find. There on the screen was obviously what appears to be a full blown revolution in progress. It was progressing exactly as the New Age books and publications had described it might when I discovered that Movement back in 1981.
Isobel Blackthorn, to my amusement, suggested in her books on the life of Alice Ann Bailey that I had slowed the "progress" of Alice Bailey's dreams by nearly 40 years. Be that as it may, it appears to me that it IS happening and it IS HAPPENING NOW!
Chris Cuomo on CNN just announced the Supreme Court had just released a decision against the California church challenging the right to gather restrictions under the guise of the Pandemic emergency orders. According to Cuomo, the United States Supreme Court had ruled 5 to 4 with Justice Roberts siding with the liberal judges on the bench that there was not an unfettered right to worship -- to believe, yes, but to worship, no.
As Jesus warned his disciples, "Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is night: so likewise ye, when ye shall see all these tings, know that is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." (Matthew 24: 32-35, KJV)
Scoffers over the years have claimed that Jesus told his own generation they would not pass until all was fulfilled. Clearly, the context of Jesus' remarks in that same context indicated that these were things that would take place over a long period of time. He was instructing that the generation alive when these things began to happen would not pass until all was fulfilled. There would be world wars, earthquakes, false christs and messiahs arising deceiving many. Further, Jesus said (Matthew 24:6: And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers[e] places. All these are the beginning of sorrows."
It appears to me that the prophesied times are here. I am fearful for those who thought they would be raptured out before they came -- that they would be in heaven in 3 1/2 years before the antichrist was revealed. Clearly, such a teaching contradicts Scripture. Read 2 Thessalonians very carefully. The gathering together to our Lord would not occur until after the Man of Perdition was revealed.
May the Lord strengthen our faith and our resolve to "keep on keeping on." We must trust God now matter how it comes down. He's got the big picture, we've got the little one.

From the outset he concedes—paraphrasing—that to appeal to Scripture in order to validate its validity is circular (“vicious in its circularity”). He then goes on to do just that, though claiming he isn’t. He begins by saying that Scripture says it’s the “Word of God” and from here we should begin to reason in our defense of sola Scriptura. But that in and of itself is circular: the Bible is the Word of God because the Bible says it’s the Word of God. Undeterred, he then suggests we should look at the NT and ask if we can “see it as a basically reliable historical source”. Any intelligent and informed atheist or anti-Christian could easily find ways of casting doubt on the Bible’s reliability as a historical document. Of course, I’m not saying it is historically unreliable, but this forces Christians into trying to explain such things as why the Gospels differ in who witnessed Jesus at the empty tomb.
So does this mean we should abandon Protestantism in favor of the RCC (or EO)? Not so fast.
This is a problem for the RCC as well. Now, of course, Catholics will appeal to “Tradition”. However, at root, Tradition is based on (an interpretation of) the Scriptures. Thus, since the very concept of “Tradition” comes, in part, from Scripture, and since the validity of Scripture is the issue at hand, we find circular reasoning yet again.
Thus, the issue is even more basic: What constitutes “Scripture”? Even if we grant that we can appeal to 2 Timothy 3:15-16, how does that definitively prove what else constitutes “Scripture”? We are fairly certain some books of the NT were written after Paul wrote 2 Timothy, so on what basis can we include, e.g., Revelation into sacred canon? In fact, Revelation was one of the last books to be considered for canonization.
My bottom line here is that the belief in the 66 books we call the Bible, Sacred Scripture, is itself based on faith/belief. This Book is the bedrock of the RCC, EO, Protestantism, Baptists, etc. And there’s one other thing Christ-followers of all these persuasions believe: all humans are fallible. And given that we are all fallible, how can we KNOW FOR SURE our rule of faith is the correct one? We cannot, for we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Cor 5:17). And though I know I cannot PROVE that the verse I just cited is absolutely true, I absolutely believe it is!

God Bless you Ray, Craig and Paul for sharing such information. More armor for our struggle. My wife and I have many catholic friends, a few of them are even Christians (and actually read a bible) and we have been fortunate enough to have witnessed God save a few. It's not easy. We were rather passive cradle Christians most of our lives with cafeteria catholic friends. Evangelism wasn't our thing, until the last few years and we got more evangelizing yet to do with our catholic friends.
There are around 70,000,000 catholics in the US so lots left to save. There's nothing like a new Christian converted catholic - they are so hungry for the word and saving their family members and unsaved catholic friends.

Sacred Tradition in the Catholic church is of two types: oral and written. The Oral Tradition is the living tradition which was transmitted by Christ to Peter and the Apostles and which has been handed down intact by them... to their successors to this very day.
The Sacred Scripture is the Sacred Tradition in its written form by the Church Fathers... some of whom were the disciples of the Apostles and therefore closer in time to Jesus Himself.

One of the very best posts I've read on this site in a very long time. You show a lot of spiritual insight in your understanding, along with how you and your wife are approaching Catholics. We all have to keep in mind, that due entirely to the fall, we ALL have, in our natural, inherited, fallen spiritual state, the COMPLETE inability to properly understand, or, even remotely comprehend the things of the Spirit without the Holy Spirit graciously opening the heart and mind. Several verses come to mind along that vein:
1 Corinthians 2:14 " But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." 1 Corinthians 2:14

What makes Catholics particularly difficult is the amount of pride that has been instilled in them by the hierarchy of the RCC. Catholics have been repeatedly told from the beginning of their lives, that "their church is the only true church," and that all others are "false."
Just a few quick thoughts on the subject ...
Catholics have also been told WHAT to believe and to put their trust in the HIERARCHY, even when it conflicts with the Word of God. A very similar problem, incidentally, exists when attempting to witness to Jewish people, i.e. "the chosen people," who have been taught blasphemous things about Christ from their early childhood. The cults also use similar "we are the people," "trust in the hierarchy" tactics, which in all three of these cases produces a LOT of PRIDE. Love of sin (see John 3:19) AND pride are the main stumbling blocks to Christ. God does not deal with prideful, rebellious people (that willfully remain in that state), but He does "give grace to the humble," which is also a work of the Holy Spirit.
I personally am of the conviction that a person can be truly a Christian while holding to beliefs that deny the all sufficiency of Christ's blood atonement on the cross. Herein lies the quintessential problem for all Catholics; both Purgatory and the Sacrifice of the Mass are FOUNDATIONAL to the Catholic faith, yet, both of these doctrines fully deny Christ's Blood Atonement for sin.
What is the purpose of Purgatory? To PAY, through PERSONAL SUFFERING (for an UNDETERMINED AMOUNT OF TIME), for VENIAL sins that were committed during one's lifetime. What's the purpose of the Sacrifice of the Mass? To "crucify Christ AGAIN, on a never ending, ongoing basis, for the MORTAL sins of the people." Both of these are a FALSE SUBSTITUTES for the TRUE SACRIFICE that was made through Christ's blood atonement. Both of these foundational doctrines of the RCC denies the Blood Atonement of Christ on the cross.
Rome declares an utterly false gospel. It is left to us, through the Holy Spirit, to declare the truth unto them.

My opinion on this whole coronavirus / Covid-19 is that this is a great DECEPTION... and we, the American people, are being 'played' big time!!!

In Aramaic, the word for a camel is pronounced "gamel". But, in Aramaic the word for a rope is also "gamel" The two words are homonyms.
Thus, when Jesus said, (in the King James version, which came from the Greek Septuagint) that: "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven.", the Peshitta (Aramaic version) says: "It is easier for a rope to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into heaven".
That makes more sense to me, and sounds much more likely.
There are just a few of these kinds of differences between the Peshitta and the Septuagint. A very few.
The King James version is nearly flawless, but there are a very few, very subtle, differences, and none of the differences amount to any difference in the Gospel truth that is generally known to Bible believers. There are no doctrinal differences at all.

An American pastor and author who has produced his own translation of the New Testament based on the Aramaic text claims Jesus openly declared numerous times that He is the Creator God of the OLD Testament.
Aramaic is the ancient language believed by many scholars to be the language Jesus Himself mainly spoke in the first century, as depicted in Mel Gibson's popular 2004 film, "The Passion of the Christ."
"With all the Aramaic references to the name of the Deity," says Rev. David Bauscher of Cambridge. N.Y., "the [Aramaic] New Testament not only teaches that Yeshua (Jesus) is divine, but it names Him as the Lord Jehovah of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, who created Heaven and Earth, appeared to Abraham and appeared and gave the Law to Moses on Mount Sinai, and it so names Him over 80 times."
His latest work is titled, "The Aramaic New Testament in Plain English," with details provided at his website, AramaicNT.com.

Though translations of from the Aramaic text have been done before, one major difference is Bauscher's rendering of a key phrase that he says points to the divine identity of Jesus.
While many versions from the Greek have Jesus simply saying, "I am," Bauscher has published it from the Aramaic to read, "I am the Living God."
For example, his version of Mark 14:61-64 reads as follows, using the original name Yeshua to refer to Jesus:
But he was silent, and he did not answer him anything. And again, The High Priest asked him and said, "Are you The Messiah, The Son of The Blessed One?"
But Yeshua said to him, "I AM THE LIVING GOD, and you shall behold The Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of Heaven."
But The High Priest ripped his tunic and he said, "Why now do we need witnesses?"
"Behold, you have heard the blasphemy from his own mouth. How does it appear to you?" But they all judged that he deserved death.
Another example of Jesus stating He is, in fact, God, is found in the 18th chapter of the Gospel of John, where the apostle Judas, referred to as Yehuda in this translation, helps Jesus get arrested:
And the famous first words from John are rendered as: "In the origin The Word had been existing and That Word had been existing with God and That Word was himself God."
The New King James Version of John 1:1 states it as: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
Jesus is also referred to as God and not just the Son of God in other translations of the Bible based upon the Greek.
For instance, Hebrews 1:8, speaking of God the Father, indicates: "But about the Son he says, "Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom."

The Septuagint (LXX) is the Greek translation of the Hebrew Tanakh, our Old Testament. It also includes what Protestants call the Apocrypha (RCC calls these books Deuterocanon). The NT is not included. The KJV NT is derived from the Textus Receptus.
As for Matthew 19:24, the Greek kamēlon means “camel”, kamilon means “rope”. Because of this, some have hypothesized that Jesus meant the latter instead of the former; however, we need not make such speculation. Quoting Grant Osborne’s commentary on Matthew:
Such attempts to water down the imagery are unnecessary; this is rabbinic hyperbole (e.g., “straining the gnat but swallowing the camel” in 23:24), a stylistic device Jesus uses often. It depicts the largest animal in Palestine (a camel) going through the smallest hole (the eye of a needle) to illustrate how “difficult” it is for the wealthy to know God (pp 719-20).

As I stated earlier, the burden of proof is on you and your position. Posting this and that about the Peshitta may be evidence, but it’s hardly proof of an Aramaic original NT.
I believe in surveying the data and applying a bit of logic. Both support a Greek original.
We have many more NT GREEK manuscripts. The Tanakh, from which our OT is derived, is in HEBREW (with smatterings of Aramaic), not Aramaic. The Septuagint/LXX is a GREEK translation of this Hebrew. Why would the Jews spend so much time translating their Hebrew corpus to Greek? Because Greek was the lingua franca, the common language of the day.
It is very likely Jesus spoke Aramaic. But it’s also likely he spoke Greek. I think it more likely he spoke Aramaic (or Hebrew) to the Jews when he was teaching. It’s quite possible there was an oral tradition in Aramaic prior to the recording of the Gospels.
But which books of the NT were actually written first? Paul’s epistles. Who was his audience? Gentiles. What language did they most likely speak? GREEK.
When the Gospels were recorded, it makes sense these may have come from an oral tradition. Was it Aramaic? Maybe so. However, given the Gospels are understood to have been written AFTER Paul’s material, and given that Christianity was becoming more and more of a GENTILE religion, doesn’t it make sense the Gospels would be written in GREEK? Further evidence for this is the fact that while some Hebrew or Aramaic words are transliterated, there are also a number of Hebrew and Aramaic words that are translated to Greek instead (HaMashiach to ho Christos, e.g.). Stated another way, some Hebrew or Aramaic words are not translated, but kept as intact as possible, with each Hebrew or Aramaic letter exchanged for corresponding Greek letters (transliterated), though at other times (and with some other words) they are translated altogether.
But, really, what does any of this have to do with the nature of this blogspot? This blog is about the New Age religion and NWO—not someone’s pet theory.

Whether one is offended or not by another's remarks, position or delivery of such, does not give a carte blanche to assert, without providing traceable evidence and therefore meritless, accusations against another of slander (which the correct term here should be, "libel", as it pertains to the written form) and lying.
You do no favors to the Roman Catholic community to which you claim to belong. Ray B., although he is not perfect (none of us are) has devised no scheme of lying or slander here, whether you judge his views to be mistaken is another matter. As I wrote earlier, unless you can provide traceable evidence to substantiate your accusations against Ray B. of being a slanderer and a liar, then your own words condemn you of the very same things you have accused Ray B. of.
You should now reverse the damage to the community to which you claim to belong and apologize to Ray B. and to the Roman Catholics here for your unsubstantiated accusations and for making it seem as though lying, bearing false witness (false accusation), mean-spirited and cruel unsubstantiated slander are acceptable modes of behavior in Roman Catholicism because of the poor example you have so far set.

Just ONE of many possible endless scenarios; let's say an "LGBTQ" person applies for a secretarial job at a church or religious educational institution, and although there was NO DISCRIMINATION in determining who was hired, if the LGBTQ person does NOT get hired, they can file a "complaint" with the Civil Rights Division of the Federal Government. This complaint can be solely based upon PERCEIVED DISCRIMINATION. No matter how frivolous the charge may be, the Federal Government is MANDATED to conduct a full investigation. In these cases, the accused is GUILTY until proven INNOCENT. All of the files will be opened and thoroughly examined, and the employer must PROVE that they were not discriminating in the past. Furthermore, the LGBTQ accuser gets full, FREE, LEGAL REPRESENTATION through the entire process and the defendant must hire their own legal defense, which gets incredibly costly. This process alone will ruin numerous businesses !
Often, the accused ends up "settling" with the Government, whereby fines are levied, etc. Although completely innocent, businesses often cut a deal in order to just "end the process" of harassment.
This also opens up the likelihood for an employer to be sued in civil court. This is an absolute nightmare of a situation.
PS: I personally know a man that was completely innocent regarding a frivolous "discrimination" charge that was levied against him by a "client." Knowing that the charge was without foundation, that didn't stop the Feds. He was literally put through the ringer with Government Civil Rights people crawling all over him attempting to trap him in some OTHER past discriminatory action. I talked to him on the phone about a year after the whole thing started and asked him how it all worked out. His answer shocked me; he said "it's STILL going on" !

Another Film About Catholic Sex Abuse Spurs Demand for Vatican Investigation

Around this time last year, Tomasz and Marek Sekielski released their hard-hitting Polish-language documentary Do Not Tell Anyone about the problem of sexually abusive priests in the Polish Catholic Church.
Now they’re back: The second film in the series, Zabawa w Chowanego (Playing Hide and Seek), has been released on YouTube, telling the story of Bartek and Jakub Pankowiak, two Polish brothers seeking to confront the priest who molested them.

The release date couldn’t be more perfectly timed. Monday marked the 100th birthday of Karol Wojtyla, better known as Pope John Paul II. The Polish pope remains deeply beloved in his homeland. He’s also the pontiff who was presiding over the Vatican when the abuse at the heart of Playing Hide and Seek took place.
That matters, because a large part of the movie deals with senior church officials in Poland who were aware of sexual abuse being perpetrated against children and failed to act appropriately, enabling those pedophile priests to harm more children. The Sekielski brothers allege that such complicity goes straight to the top: They plan to release a third documentary focusing specifically on John Paul II’s role in covering up sex crimes committed by Polish priests.
All of that may put the Church in a bit of a precarious position, because Poland’s primate — Archbishop Wojciech Polak — has called on the Vatican to investigate the facts of the case:
"The film Hide and Seek shows that the standards of protecting children and youth in the Church have not been obeyed.
"Due to the information presented in the film, I am asking the Holy See through the nunciature [the Vatican embassy] to initiate proceedings ordered by Motu Proprio [papal decree] of Pope Francis, regarding abandonment of the action required by law."
If the Vatican investigation confirms the cover-up the Sekielskis have documented, their charges against the sainted pontiff will be that much more difficult to ignore — and that could be a massive upset for the Church in Poland.
On the other hand, though, the Church will have a hard time convincing the video’s hordes of viewers — 6.3 million and counting in just under a week — of their lack of complicity. It’s heartbreaking to watch the Pankowiak brothers struggle to reach out to Church officials who stonewall them at every turn.
The Church has admitted that more than 400 Polish clergymen had sexually abused minors over the past 30 years, but on the question of cover-ups perpetrated by the hierarchy, they’ve remained largely silent, and more information is needed.
A government investigation into pedophile priests, promised after the Sekielskis’ first film shone a spotlight on the issue, has yet to be convened...

Pope John Paul II was HEAVILY involved in the Vatican's "blind eye" when it came to the serial abuse by Marcial Maciel Degollado. Degollado was the founder of the "Legion of Christ," an institution that was designed to train young men to be future priests, along with current young priests, etc. Degollado was an INTENSE pervert that sexually abused many of the Legion's students. Degollado was so sick, he actually fathered two sons via an illegitimate relationship. He sexually abused BOTH of his sons for many years.
Degollado also is recognized as the most successful fund raiser for the RCC in the 20th. Century. Degollado was a very close personal "adviser" to JPII. The "Sainted" JP II not only turned a blind eye to the numerous reports of Degollado's history of sex abuse, he actually moved to thwart any meaningful investigation of him.
A few years ago, I watched the personal testimony of one of Degollado' s sexually abused sons. It is VERY hard to watch. Degollado was a complete, absolute, EVIL monster.

I was able to further trace an ancestral line to nobles that fought alongside William the Conquerer. Interesting also...it was Mary Queen of Scots son, James (then King of Scotland himself), who ended up succeeding the childless Queen Elizabeth as King of England. I don't think the Catholic Churchs practice of handing out annulments like candy is really an issue you want to discuss. Take Callista Gingrich, US Ambassador to the Vatican and 3rd wife of suspected anti-christ Newt. It gets even MORE confusing considering that there are books known as the pseudepigrapha—of Jewish origin—and that some scholars include some of the above books as part of its ‘corpus’ (3 and 4 Maccabees, e.g.). In other words, some overlap, such as the well-known pseudepigraphic First Book of Enoch (and there are three ‘Enoch’ books in total, none related to the other), which is considered part of the Ethiopic Orthodox Deuterocanon.
EVEN MORE confusing, there is a completely separate body of work called “New Testament Apocrypha” that is actually (all?) Gnostic material (Gospel of Thomas, Gospel of Peter, Acts of John, Ascension of Isaiah, etc.)—this does not overlap with what Protestants call “the Apocrypha”, as found in some KJV Bibles (I have one). On the surface, your presumption is certainly reasonable. I know I’ve made such types of presumptions before.
The other day I had lunch with another Christian friend—and he grew up with Protestant background—and he mentioned the Apocrypha. But he thought these included works which speak about Jesus as a boy performing miracles. I had to correct him, letting him know that those sorts of works are found in the “NT Apocrypha”, the pseudepigrapha, and some New Age works. All that to say, there are common misperceptions among Christians with respect to the Apocrypha/Deuterocanon.
I once read a paperback called the Gospel of Thomas. In it we find Jesus playing a piano!
That was where I stopped reading, _ but I doubted every word even before that point. It was truly laughable.

Help me understand several things. If you believe that Jesus "died for sins," why is Purgatory necessary? Was His shed

Also, did you know that your church teaches that to miss "Mass" for frivolous reasons is to commit a MORTAL SIN,

Let's say that 3 fellow Catholic parishioners want to play golf with you on Sunday. Two of whom dutifully attended Mass on Saturday evening. One other, along with yourself, did not. Let's imagine too that on the way to the golf course, a terrible accident occurs and all of you die.

HELL AND PURGATORY
Summary: What happens in the afterlife? Many people are confused about what the Scriptures mean on this topic.

Hell is generally defined as a place where those who died in enmity with God suffer eternal torment, whereas the souls of the righteous go to heaven upon death. The Hebrew she'ol and the Greek Hades can both be translated as "hell," and refer to the world of the dead.
The Greek term geena is used 12 times in the New Testament, and denotes "fiery punishment." It is derived from the Hebrew Ge Hinnom, or "the Valley of Hinnom," where heathen rites of sacrificing and burning children to Molech were practiced. Jeremiah called it "the valley of slaughter." The Valley of Hinnom became a place for burning rubbish and, with the development of a doctrine of a fiery hell where the wicked were punished, the valley served as a type of the fires of the last days.
The Biblical terminology is often used in a metaphoric sense and confusion can arise as to whether the terms are referring to a place or state in which the dead find themselves.
<>Permanent Consequences, not Everlasting Pain!
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus refers to geena three times. He warned the Pharisees of the damnation of geena. The nature and effect of the fire is described in the Bible as "unquenchable fire" (Mark 9:43-48; Luke 3:9) or "everlasting fire" (Matthew 25:41). This fire will cleanse the earth (2 Peter 3:10-12; Luke 3:17) after the second resurrection (Revelation 20:5).
The word aiónios, which means "everlasting," is used to describe the fate of the righteous as well as the wicked. The punishment of the wicked is everlasting death. The fire itself is not everlasting, but the final consequence of the fire—death—is everlasting.
This principle is clearly demonstrated in the Scriptures. In Malachi 4:1-3, speaking of that last day when the earth and all the wicked are burned up, God tells the prophet, "behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch... they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this."
Ashes and stubble indicate that the fire is out. The wicked do not burn eternally, but their destruction is final. Their pain and suffering is over, as is their life of sin and rebellion. God has mercy even on the wicked in that He does not allow them to suffer eternally.
Similarly, Jude 7 says, "Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire" (emphasis added). The fires are no longer burning, but the consequences of the fires are everlasting.
Total Obliteration
In the Bible, the word for "destruction" means total and irreversible obliteration. For example, God sent the Flood to destroy—make non-existent—all life on Earth (Genesis 6 and 7). Later in history, God often required the Israelites to destroy their war plunder as an offering to Him. This was done through killing the livestock, and burning the plunder until only ash remained. (Numbers 21:2-3; Joshua 6:21).
This definition of a state of irreversible destruction is what we see throughout Scripture in relation to the punishment for those who choose to reject God:
He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed (Exodus 22:20).
And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed (Isaiah 1:18).
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9).
Like the pain of dying—which eventually culminates in death—the punishment for those who reject God lasts for only a while. Eventually, the destruction is complete and they simply cease to exist.

Yes... I would never disagree with you about the 'good thief' next to Jesus on the Cross. God knows exactly what is deep within each person's heart and soul... and judges each and everyone of us accordingly.
The weeping and gnashing of teeth is said to occur when the unsaved see the lot of the saved (in this case, it is just a particular group of unsaved people). The weeping and gnashing of teeth occur at the time when they are thrown out. It never says that the weeping and gnashing of teeth will continue on for eternity afterwards!

That thief railed against the Lord with the other thief until (in Luke chapter 23) we read that Jesus said the words "Father forgive them for they know not what they do" and the one thief said: if you are the Christ save yourself and us but the repenting thief (who had railed at Jesus at first) then said: "do you not even fear God seeing you are under the same condemnation?" The man acknowledged his guilt and acknowledged Jesus' innocence, and notice that he called Jesus Lord.
Repentance and faith go together, like the two sides of a single coin.
Apostle Paul told us in Acts 20:21: ....testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
That was what that thief did (he is a picture of every man, all of us), and that was his believing...quite simply in Who Jesus is--the Lord--and What He had done--on the cross where He paid a sin debt He did not owe, because you and I have a sin debt we could never pay.
That is my story too, a sinner who was broken by my sin and it's heavy debt, I, too, expressed my repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. Now my name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life.
Simple faith comes to the humble who trust the Lord, and not anything else or anyone else, but trust only the Lord Jesus to save them...just as that thief did.
My pastor, my church, my own attempts did not save me, indeed could not, because we all fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
