I was quietly working at my computer tonight, trying to figure out how to use Zoom for communication. I spent a few hours watching how to YouTube videos and reviewing some books in my library. I finally decided it was time to call it a night and retire to bed.
My husband called out, "Connie, have you seen this?" I thought perhaps he was watching a movie or had made a YouTube music video find. There on the screen was obviously what appears to be a full blown revolution in progress. It was progressing exactly as the New Age books and publications had described it might when I discovered that Movement back in 1981.
Isobel Blackthorn, to my amusement, suggested in her books on the life of Alice Ann Bailey that I had slowed the "progress" of Alice Bailey's dreams by nearly 40 years. Be that as it may, it appears to me that it IS happening and it IS HAPPENING NOW!
Chris Cuomo on CNN just announced the Supreme Court had just released a decision against the California church challenging the right to gather restrictions under the guise of the Pandemic emergency orders. According to Cuomo, the United States Supreme Court had ruled 5 to 4 with Justice Roberts siding with the liberal judges on the bench that there was not an unfettered right to worship -- to believe, yes, but to worship, no.
As Jesus warned his disciples, "Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is night: so likewise ye, when ye shall see all these tings, know that is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." (Matthew 24: 32-35, KJV)
Scoffers over the years have claimed that Jesus told his own generation they would not pass until all was fulfilled. Clearly, the context of Jesus' remarks in that same context indicated that these were things that would take place over a long period of time. He was instructing that the generation alive when these things began to happen would not pass until all was fulfilled. There would be world wars, earthquakes, false christs and messiahs arising deceiving many. Further, Jesus said (Matthew 24:6: And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers[e] places. All these are the beginning of sorrows."
It appears to me that the prophesied times are here. I am fearful for those who thought they would be raptured out before they came -- that they would be in heaven in 3 1/2 years before the antichrist was revealed. Clearly, such a teaching contradicts Scripture. Read 2 Thessalonians very carefully. The gathering together to our Lord would not occur until after the Man of Perdition was revealed.
May the Lord strengthen our faith and our resolve to "keep on keeping on." We must trust God now matter how it comes down. He's got the big picture, we've got the little one.

I am a 45 year old white woman living in the south, and today was the first time I spoke frankly about racism with a black man. When Ernest, my appliance repairman, came to the front door, I welcomed him in. As this was his second visit and we’d established a friendly rapport, I asked him how he was feeling in the current national climate. Naturally, he assumed I was talking about the coronavirus, because what white person actually addresses racism head on, in person, in their own home? When Ernest realized I wanted to know about his experience with racism, he began answering my questions.
What’s it like for you on a day-to-day basis as a black man? Do cops ever give you any trouble?
The answers were illuminating.
Ernest, a middle-aged, friendly, successful business owner, gets pulled over in Myrtle Beach at least 6 times a year. He doesn’t get pulled over for traffic violations, but on the suspicion of him being a suspect in one crime or another. Mind you, he is in uniform, driving in a work van clearly marked with his business on the side. They ask him about the boxes in his car--parts and pieces of appliances. They ask to see his invoices and ask him why there is money and checks in his invoice clipboard. They ask if he’s selling drugs. These cops get angry if he asks for a badge number or pushes back in any way. Everytime he is the one who has to explain himself, although they have no real cause to question him.
Ernest used to help folks out after dark with emergencies. Not anymore. He does not work past dinnertime, not because he doesn’t need the business, but because it isn’t safe for him to be out after dark. He says “There’s nothing out there in the world for me past dark”.
Let me say that again. Ernest, a middle aged black man in uniform cannot work past dark in Myrtle Beach in 2020 because it’s not safe for him. He did not say this with any kind of agenda. It was a quiet, matter of fact truth.
A truth that needs to be heard.
When I asked Ernest what ethnic terms he gets offended at, he said that the most offensive term people use is ‘boy’. Ernest has a bachelors in electronics and an associates in HVAC. He is not a ‘boy’, and the term ‘boy’ in the south implies inferiority in station and status. He came to Myrtle Beach and got a job at Hobart. The supervisor repeatedly used the term ‘boy’. Ernest complained. After several complaints Ernest was fired.
Ernest says most white people are a little scared of him, and he’s often put in a position where he has to prove himself, as though he’s not qualified to repair appliances.
After getting a job for 2 years at Sears appliance, Ernest started his own company, one he’s been running for several years. He is the best repairman we’ve had, and has taught me about washer dryers and how to maintain them myself, even helping me with another washer/dryer set and a dishwasher without charging me. I highly recommend his company, Grand Strand Appliance.
I asked Ernest what he thought of “black bike week” in Myrtle Beach, where thousands of black people come with bullet bikes and trash our town. He says it hurts black people in our city, and he disagrees with the NAACP coming in to sue businesses that close on black bike week. He hates working that week.
Ernest doesn’t have hope that racism will change, no matter who the president is. His dad taught him “It’s a white man’s world”, and he’s done his best to live within it.
When I asked him what I could do, he said, “everyone needs to pray and realize we’re all just one country and one people”.
I am a 45 year old white woman living in the south. I can begin healing our country by talking frankly with African Americans in my world---by LISTENING to their lived experience and speaking up. I can help by actively promoting black owned businesses. That’s what I can do today. Let’s start by listening and lifting up. It’s that simple.

I’m going to guess that you noticed that Peterson and Pinker are white and that Pinker criticized intolerant Leftists when the call those on the right Nazis, and used that as the basis for your statement. Correct me if I’m wrong. In any case, you may not be aware but when certain Leftists call others “Nazis” on account of their right-leaning stances, it is without regard to race. In other words, I’ve seen various races called “Nazi”, to include blacks, Hispanics, and Jews (think Ben Shapiro, e.g.). At root, it’s an extreme form of the Alinsky tactic of demonizing your opponent. Never mind that it’s ridiculous to call Jews and blacks “Nazi”.
While Peterson has been vilified by Leftists, Pinker has not and, from what I can tell, is largely respected.

Why yes Craig, My Jewish ex wife believed Jews, and blacks were evil, and inferior. We lived in Coeur d Alene Idaho back then, and it was her stated wish to attend the church in Hayden Lake that flew the Nazi flag! I talked her out of it. Also look into the Reverend Valentine (black guy), who was the 'spiritual advisor' for the Matrix films. Years after my divorce from my mentioned ex wife, a black friend of mine allowed me to view, what he described as an 'underground' video of Reverend Valentine, who is very much a Nazi! He told me blacks have materials that white people never see. I did watch a video about five years ago, I think it was in Philadelphia?,of a white guy who tried to enter a black culture bookstore. He was not allowed entry. I have met several blacks over the years who are into the Matrix religion, which I consider Nazism. Good luck finding the video produced by Reverend Valentine, I have not found it myself. That gives me an idea though. By “acceding” I mean that he purposely chose an ambiguous word that could either be understood positively or negatively. Was he saying religious (Acts 17:22) in a positive sense or a negative sense? If it was understood as negative—as the KJV implies with its use of superstitious—then he would have immediately lost his audience. That at least some of Paul’s audience did not understand him as being condescending is proven by the context and the conclusion of this passage (Acts 17:33). Was Paul compromising here? Was Paul being carnal?

In some measure, it depends on how one defines the term. Firstly, to use the term to apply to most anyone today is anachronistic, strictly speaking. That is, the term applied to the WWII times, not today. (That doesn’t mean there aren’t a few living WWII Nazis somewhere.)
But there are certainly neo-Nazis today.
But even the way you’ve used it in the quote above—the way your ex-wife seemingly (as reported here by you) understood it—is self-refuting, self-contradictory. If she believes Jews collectively are inferior to her, then what does that make her, as a Jew? It’s not as though she can literally step out of her own skin.

The Establishment promotes the idea of the inevitability of Communism through its perversion of terms used in describing the political spectrum. (See Chart 1) We are told that on the far Left of the political spectrum we find Communism, which is admittedly dictatorial. But, we are also told that equally to be feared is the opposite of the far Left, i.e., the far Right, which is labeled Fascism. We are constantly told that we should all try
to stay in the middle of the road, which is termed democracy, but by which the Establishment means Fabian (or creeping) socialism. (The fact that the middle of the road has been moving. inexorably leftward for many years is ignored.) Here is an excellent example of the use of false alternatives. We are given the choice between Communism (international socialism) on one end of the spectrum Nazism (national socialism) on the other end, or Fabian socialism in the middle.

This is absurd. Where would you put an anarchist on this spectrum? Where do you put a person who believes in a Constitutional Republic and the free enterprise system? He is not represented here, yet this spectrum is used for political definitions by a probable ninety percent of the people of the nation.
Chart 1 depicts a false Left-Right political spectrum used by Liberals which has Communism (International Socialism) on the far Left and its twin, Fascism (National Socialism [Nazism]) on the far Right with the "middle of the road" being Fabian Socialism.

Although the free enterprise system is not mentioned specifically in the Constitution, it is the only one which can exist under a Constitutional Republic. All collectivist systems require power in government which the Constitution did not grant. Our Founding Fathers had no intention of allowing the government to become an instrument to steal the fruit of one man's labor and give it to another who had not earned it. Our government was to be one of severely limited powers. Thomas Jefferson said: "In questions of power then let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the 'Constitution." Jefferson knew that if the government were not enslaved, people soon would be.
It was Jefferson's view that government governs best which governs least. Our forefathers established this country with the very least possible amount of 'government. Although they lived in an age before automobiles, electric lights and television, they understood human nature and its relation to political systems far better than do most Americans today. Times change, technology changes, but principles are eternal. Primarily, government was to provide for national defense and to establish a court system. But we have burst the chains that Jefferson spoke of and for many years now we have been moving leftward across the political spectrum toward collectivist total government. Every proposal by our political leaders (including some which are supposed to have the very opposite effect, such as 'revenue sharing' proposals) carries us further leftward to centralized government. This is not because socialism is inevitable. It is no more inevitable than Pharaohism. It is largely the result of clever planning and patient gradualism.
Since all Communists and their Insider bosses are waging a constant struggle for SOCIALISM, let us define that term. Socialism is usually defined as government ownership and/or control over the basic means of production and distribution of goods and services. When analyzed this means government control over everything, including
you. All controls are "people" controls. If the government controls these areas it can eventually do just exactly as Marx set out to do: DESTROY the right to private property,
eliminate the family and wipe out religion!"

So many people cave in and bend over backwards to accommodate the most ridiculous requests of federal and state governments, but this story is a reminder of how we all should respond when bureaucrats come knocking at our doors.
Oregon ranchers Larry and Amanda Anderson received a letter by the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife asking for permission to survey their land in order to track a nearly endangered species. The letter requested use of the landowners’ creek to document the amphibian life represented, specifically the foothill yellow-legged frog which is noted to have recently declined in population. If the Anderson’s agreed to give the department access, they were ensured as being responsible for “the conservation of this important species.”
But the Andersons weren’t exactly interested and noticed an opportunity to turn the tables on the request and apply a little “Golden Rule” justice, or at least doing unto the government as is so often done unto them.
The Andersons constructed one of the best come-back letters of all time. The only way to truly appreciate it is to read it in its entirety:
Dear Mr. Niemela:
Thank you for your inquiry regarding accessing our property to survey for the yellow-legged frog. We may be able to help you out with this matter.
We have divided our 2.26 acres into 75 equal survey units with a draw tag for each unit. George Floyd did 5 separate stints in Prison, mainly for Cocaine related charges.
One of Floyd's Prison stints was as a result of an armed home invasion of a pregnant Black woman. Floyd held a loaded gun to the belly of the terrified victim, threatening that if she moved or resisted, he would shoot her, while 3 other "friends" of Floyd ransacked the woman's residence in search of money and drugs. Floyd received 5 years for his part in this crime. Just wondering ... did the terrorized pregnant Black women's life "matter?"
George Floyd also had at least 2 children from 2 separate "baby Mamas." While the media "reports" that the CHILDREN were "estranged" from their Father, it was the other way around. Floyd reneged on his responsibilities to these two children, having not even seen either one of them in over 15 years. In fact, when the children saw their "father" on the news after his death, they didn't even know who he was.
Floyd's forensic autopsy has revealed that he had methamphetamine and fentanyl in his body at the time of death, indicating that these two substances could have played a part in his inability to breathe properly. Of course, the Policeman that held Floyd down with his knee has been tried and found guilty by the media and their fellow anarchists. Anarchists do not believe in the concept of "innocent until proven guilty by a jury of his peers in a COURT OF LAW." Anarchists, whether in the media or on the streets, are no different from the lynching mobs that once conducted vigilante justice.

Also, I find it amazing that these BLM/ANTIFA "protests" are taking place all over the world. Often, the protestors hold up their hands and shout "hands up, don't shoot." Where did that saying come from? Go back about 5 years and recall Michael Brown, aka "the Gentile Giant" and Ferguson, Maryland. (Early on, George Floyd was also referred to in the media as a "Gentle Giant").
Not long after being FILMED committing a strong arm robbery, Michael Brown and his "friend" were stopped by a squad car because they fit the description of the suspects. Michael Brown's "friend" had claimed that "his friend, Michael Brown, had his hands up, with his back to the Cop while shouting "hands up, don't shoot" when the Cop opened fire, shooting Brown in the back, killing him "like a dog." It NEVER happened. What REALLY happened was this; Michael Brown, aka, the Gentle Giant, forcefully reached into the squad car and attempted to wrestle the officer's gun away from him, whereby shots were fired. When Brown retreated, the officer exited the squad car and ordered Brown "on the ground." Instead, Brown charged the officer and was LEGALY shot by the officer.
Not only did sworn, eyewitness testimony completely refute the "friend's" narrative, the forensic autopsy did as well. Doesn't matter. This fake, lying scam continues to be used in all of the "protests," and continues to be referenced to as if it were factual by the fake media.
Back to George Floyd. Candace Owens concludes that Floyd was a "career criminal," and refuses to "honor" his life. I think she is right. Did the Minneapolis police make mistakes? Probably. But the Court process should be allowed to play out in order to determine what really happened.
BTW, the narrative that "police kill unarmed Blacks literally on a daily basis in America" is completely false. According to FBI statistics, in all of 2019, only 9 "unarmed" Blacks were killed by Police. Of those 9, 7 attempted an act of violence against the Police which justified their lethal force response. During that same year, 19 "unarmed" Whites were killed by Police.

Lack of education, ambition, etc. has nothing to do with the rampant lack of accomplishments for countless Blacks in America. All failure in the Black community is deemed to be because of White people. Many also dangerously believe that "whites are just out to get them ... for no reason." Case in point, Ahmaud Arbery.
The media has portrayed Arbery as an innocent "jogger" that was "gunned down" while enjoying a "jog through a white neighborhood." They never used the word "alleged" in describing the crime, but rather, they conclusively used the term "murder," while identifying the "murderers" as two Georgian white men (aka, white supremacists).
What really happened appears to be this:
Arbery was not "jogging," but WALKING through a neighborhood that had experienced a rash of burglaries in recent months. In a video, Arbery is shown walking down the street and then entering a HOME that was currently being rehabbed. This same property had recently lost over $2,500 due to theft. Arbery had "visited" the inside of this home on several previous occasions prior to the day of the shooting. Arbery is shown on several videos "looking around" (after the thefts, the owner installed a security cameras).

On the day of the shooting, Arbery is shown exiting the property through the attached garage and walking to the rear of the property's exterior. A neighbor, directly across the street, while holding a phone and calling 911, is seen yelling at Arbery ... probably "what are you doing?, etc." Arbery immediately responds by RUNNING away from the property ... down the street, aka, the "jog." The two suspects, a retired, 30 year veteran Cop and his son jump into their pickup truck in order to "head off" Arbery and detain him by using a LEGAL Citizen's Arrest. They call the police prior to attempting to attempting to stop Arbery.
The son, armed with a LEGAL shotgun is standing outside the truck to Arbery's left as he approaches the vehicle. Arbery is shown running to the RIGHT of the truck. When he gets to the front of the truck, he makes an abrupt left and ATTACKS the son. Arbery is clearly seen attempting to wrestle the shotgun away. During his attempt, the gun fires and hits Arbery in the hand, but, amazingly, he continues to struggle for the gun. As the struggle over the gun continues, the son fires the fatal shot that kills Arbery.
Here is the crux of all of this; the reason the two suspects were not originally charged is that they were operating within the confines of the law. However, activists groups, the media, politicians, even sports figures, etc. all put immense pressure on the "system" to arrest and prosecute these two "murderers." In their collective minds, the only thing left was for them to find a rope and a tree.

Here is where things are REALLY going to get dicey ...
Based on the evidence that the public has been brainwashed to deny, no HONEST jury will vote to convict when sternly admonished to do so based upon "beyond a reasonable doubt." The Prosecution, no doubt, realizes that they have a very weak case, which usually means that they will attempt to salvage "something" by offering a deal, which the uninformed will absolutely hate.
If it goes to trial, and the evidence is BELIEVED by the jury, the two defendants will be acquitted.
In either of these scenarios, the reaction will be every bit as explosive and volatile as the George Floyd incident. (Speaking of which, the public has not been informed of all the details in that case either).
IMO, we are in the most dangerous of times, where literally anything can happen from this day forward. This is only my opinion, but, based upon the fact that the numerous, VIOLENT "protests" have been taking place in virtually every country in the West, this indicates that it is highly organized and that it is being organized and financed by an international entity.
Is this where the One World Government enters the stage in order to "restore peace" while promising to provide "financial security" for the oppressed masses?

The "21" in Agenda 21 refers to the original target year of 2021 where they were hoping to achieve their development goals by then. It has been affirmed and had a few modifications at subsequent UN conferences. Since it found 2021 was an overly optimistic date, its new timeline is targeting 2030. Its aim is to achieve global sustainable development. One major objective of the Agenda 21 initiative is that every local government should draw its own local Agenda 21. Since 2015, Sustainable Development Goals are included in the newer Agenda 2030.

Jesus 'Declared He's God Of Old Testament'
Author: Christ's divinity clearly revealed in original Aramaic

An American pastor and author who has produced his own translation of the New Testament based on the Aramaic text claims Jesus openly declared numerous times that He is the Creator God of the OLD Testament.
Aramaic is the ancient language believed by many scholars to be the language Jesus Himself mainly spoke in the first century, as depicted in Mel Gibson's popular 2004 film, "The Passion of the Christ."
"With all the Aramaic references to the name of the Deity," says Rev. David Bauscher of Cambridge. N.Y., "the [Aramaic] New Testament not only teaches that Yeshua (Jesus) is divine, but it names Him as the Lord Jehovah of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, who created Heaven and Earth, appeared to Abraham and appeared and gave the Law to Moses on Mount Sinai, and it so names Him over 80 times."
His latest work is titled, "The Aramaic New Testament in Plain English," with details provided at his website, AramaicNT.com.
Bauscher is a former high-school science teacher proficient in Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic, and has been teaching the Bible since 1976. He is also the father of 12 homeschooled children.
He admits most Bible scholars believe the original New Testament was written in Greek, or almost all books were initially written in Greek.
But Bauscher contends there's more evidence indicating the 27 books comprising the New Testament were actually written in Aramaic before they were translated into Greek, as is thought by many Assyrian and Syrian Christians.
"I was convinced, after two years of intensive research, that the complete Peshitta New Testament (as embodied in the 1905 Syriac Peshitta New Testament edition) was the original inspired text delivered to the apostles and evangelists, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John," he told WND.
The name "Peshitta" in Aramaic means "straight" – in other words, the original and pure New Testament.
"The American people at least deserve to read a direct English translation of the original Aramaic words of Jesus and the apostles into English, as opposed to all the translations from Greek, which I have demonstrated is itself a translation of the Aramaic original," said Bauscher.
"We also deserve to know that the original was not Greek, but Aramaic, should we desire to study the original language and text for ourselves, not to mention that we deserve a rightly educated clergy, who know the historical and cultural realities of first-century Israel and the original Scriptures. There is widespread misinformation and false propaganda being disseminated in Christian churches concerning this matter."
Though translations of from the Aramaic text have been done before, one major difference is Bauscher's rendering of a key phrase that he says points to the divine identity of Jesus.
While many versions from the Greek have Jesus simply saying, "I am," Bauscher has published it from the Aramaic to read, "I am the Living God."
For example, his version of Mark 14:61-64 reads as follows, using the original name Yeshua to refer to Jesus:
But he was silent, and he did not answer him anything. And again, The High Priest asked him and said, "Are you The Messiah, The Son of The Blessed One?"
But Yeshua said to him, "I AM THE LIVING GOD, and you shall behold The Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of Heaven."
But The High Priest ripped his tunic and he said, "Why now do we need witnesses?"
"Behold, you have heard the blasphemy from his own mouth. How does it appear to you?" But they all judged that he deserved death.
Another example of Jesus stating He is, in fact, God, is found in the 18th chapter of the Gospel of John, where the apostle Judas, referred to as Yehuda in this translation, helps Jesus get arrested:
And the famous first words from John are rendered as: "In the origin The Word had been existing and That Word had been existing with God and That Word was himself God."
The New King James Version of John 1:1 states it as: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
Jesus is also referred to as God and not just the Son of God in other translations of the Bible based upon the Greek.
For instance, Hebrews 1:8, speaking of God the Father, indicates: "But about the Son he says, "Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom."

I read through the entirety of the “open letter”, and though I can agree with many of the author’s points (from my own perspective of things), I’m not convinced of its purported origins. Wouldn’t the self-description as “UC Berkeley History Professor” effectively reveal the author? Given the gravity expressed in this letter, it’s curious to me that this letter was made public. Wouldn’t the recipients understand the ramifications of doing so?
Bottom line: I’m not sure what to make of it.

Though the author/s may well be sincere, he/they are asserting their position based on suppositions rather than known facts and evidence. On the surface, this does not necessarily mean they are, in fact, wrong. But with no evidence to back up their claim and much evidence to the contrary via the plethora of GREEK New Testament manuscripts, I’m unconvinced. The burden of proof is on them to prove that Aramaic is indeed the original language.
Now, I do agree with him on the importance to “know the historical and cultural realities of first-century Israel”; however, there are some excellent commentaries and other works that do just that.
And we don’t need Baruch’s AHAV to know Jesus declared Himself the Creator God of the OT. The Greek NT does this well enough.
As an aside, Brian Simmons bases his dubious Passion “translation” on this same assertion that the Aramaic is the original language, and, further, that he himself was divinely inspired to “translate” this to (NAR theology) English. Now, it’s not my intent to equate this “translation” with the AHAV above. However, in both cases we must first agree with the basic premise that the Aramaic is the “original” New Testament. I reject that premise.

I don't want to give the false impression that the enemies of Christ are found only in the RCC. They are EVERYWHERE, including so-called "Bible Believing Churches." Here is just one example:
Awhile back, I was asked by a member of one such church, what I thought about her "Pastor." I asked her if she really wanted to know my opinion and she replied "yes." I then said that "based upon some personal experiences and observations over the years, I did not hold him in high regard" to which she was quite surprised and disappointed. I didn't elaborate very much, but basically stated that this man was a "friend of the world and a compromiser" of God's Word, and gave her several illustrations. When I said this, which was the truth, her opinion of me seemed to have dropped considerably. What a surprise !
Several years later, this very same church went through a split. The reason? The "pastor" had been making favorable references to "gays" from the pulpit. It got to the point where it began to be a controversy among church members. The Board of Elders were pressured to sit down with the pastor, whereby, they presented him with a position paper, drafted by them, that stated "Marriage is limited to and between one MAN and one WOMAN." When the pastor was asked to sign the document, the pastor refused. To their shock, he then stated that he believed that God "sanctions all LOVE, and that members of the same sex that LOVE each other should be allowed to marry each other and "enjoy the blessings and support of their church." Upon that, the Elders demanded his immediate resignation. The pastor left, taking over 50% of the members with him in order to form another "church." His "church" regularly marches for "Gay Pride," and has been very active in promoting the gay agenda.
I know one particular woman that belongs to this "church" and regularly attends services ... in fact she is a "greeter." She recently left her husband (and two children) in order to move in with her "boyfriend." Her two children soon followed the mother's example by moving in with those that they were dating. Such is the fruit of a wicked tree !
One more thing; about 25 years ago, a well known pastor/author came to town. I received a phone call from the event organizer, whom I knew, asking me if I would be interested in taking this man to dinner and then drive him to the event. Of course my wife and I jumped at the chance. During our dinner conversation, we very much "clicked. " At one point, my wife excused her self, and he then told me that he "travels all over the country and to Europe, etc. giving talks." He said "you can't imagine in your wildest dreams the abdominal state that the churches are in." He also said that he "didn't know how or why they find me," but that he has had contact "with many high up members of the Federal Government, including US Senators, members of the intelligence community, etc. ... they often just appear at my door and then proceed to tell me about the REAL state of our country. They are ALL very worried." Remember, this was 25 years ago ... he then said, based upon what he was being told by these people, "if we continue on our current path, we are going to lose our country."
With all of the events taking place recently, what this man "confidentially" said to me that night has taken on even more meaning for me.
I am a conservative, traditional Catholic baptized and raised in the same Catholic Church that my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ created in the year 33 AD (before He was crucified and died for the sins of ALL mankind!!!)... when He said the following words (as He made Peter the very first Pope): "And I say to you, that thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall NOT prevail against it" (Matthew 16-18).
And... because HE IS GOD, of course Jesus knew full well that there would be forces at work less than 2,000 years later who would ATTEMPT (but never succeed!!!) in destroying HIS Church. We conservative, traditional Catholics recognize that Pope Francis may be one of those 'forces.' Does that mean that I am going to 'abandon' my Catholic faith? NO, absolutely not... when I have the PROMISE of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that 'the gates of Hell shall NOT prevail against it.'
In the year 2033, the Catholic Church will be 2,000 years old. It could never have lasted this long, if Jesus had not INTENDED for His Church to last this long!!! Therefore, NO POPE (Francis or anyone else!!!) has the 'power' to destroy the Catholic Church created by Jesus Christ.
As Constance Cumbey has brought out many times over the past nearly 40 years, ALL of the churches have been deeply infiltrated within their ranks and HIERARCHY by the New Age Movement: Catholic, Jewish, Protestant.
For ANY of you on this blog to be so delusional as to hold YOUR particular church up as the 'exception' to what is currently happening in the world would be almost laughable... if it weren't so tragic. (People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, etc.)

But the ‘bad apple defense’ is doubly bad. I’m old enough to remember a very young Michael Jackson singing the sugary-pop song “One Bad Apple”: one bad apple don’t spoil the whole bunch, girl. Yet, the point of the song was to debunk the truism that one bad apple CAN, in fact, spoil the bunch!
Having stating all the above, I don’t think it fair to collectivize the entire police force as bad. But some areas sure need some serious reform. And it isn't just brutality against blacks. Someone sent me a clip of a black officer--who was standing with a white officer--goading an old white guy to hit him, giving him explicit permission to do so. The man initially objected, but then tapped the black officer on the face, after which the officer threw him to the ground and arrested him. This was caught on body-cam of another officer who was about 20 feet away. The man (and the one standing with him?) was, rightfully, prosecuted.

Scriptures make it clear that the rock is Christ. There are approximately 34 instances of Christ being referred to as a rock in the New Testament, including the following:
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone (Ephesians 2:19-20, emphasis added).
Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ (1 Corinthians 10:1-4, emphasis added).
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3:11).

I feel compelled to state the following, and that is, in virtually every single reference to a "rock" in the Old Testament as well as the New, "rock" refers to "God," the "Word of God," and to "Jesus Christ" (the Word and Jesus Christ is one and the same).
You will not find a single instance where the Bible refers to a MAN as the "rock," and that includes Peter. The single reference that the RCC builds their entire case on for Peter being the first Pope is built upon this verse that is taken out of context. Aside from that, clearly the Lord Jesus Christ is declared to be the "head of the church," and NOT Peter.
Furthermore, it is a fact that prior to the establishment of the ROMAN PAPACY, via the "Bishop of Rome" in the 7th. Century, the name "Roman Catholic Church" did NOT EVEN EXIST ! The organization of churches throughout the known world was simply known as "The Church." Roman, Pagan influence began in earnest under the Roman Emperor Constantine in the 4th. Century. Constantine melded the Paganism of Rome with his version of "Christianity." He did so in an attempt to appease both Pagans and "Christians" that lived within the Roman Empire. This is precisely why the RCC has so many beliefs and practices that can be traced back to Paganism and Babylon.

The word translated "Peter" is the Greek petros. This word is found over 150 times in the NT (not including the title of the relevant epistles). Though I've not checked every occurrence, those I have refer to Peter. Some of these times the word is, indeed, prefaced with the Greek article ("the"), though not specifically in Matthew 16:18.
Now, as far as I'm aware, there are no other occurrences in which petros (masculine) and petra (feminine) are in the same context like here. And there are only 14 instances of petra in the entire NT, and not all refer to Jesus (e.g. Matt 27:51, 60). There are, however, other synonymous words for "stone" or "foundation" that refer to Jesus.
Having said the foregoing, the issues surrounding the grammar/syntax of Matthew 16:18 are not straightforward. But there is obviously some sort of word play here. Of importance also is the word most versions translate "Church". That word is ekklēsia
I'll say it again ONE more time: The TRUTH has no 'versions'!!!

NOTE: Roman Catholic translation of the passage insists that Peter is the ROCK (and not Christ) upon which His church is built.
YET, somehow they don't apply their same translating technique to the following:
"But he turned, and SAID UNTO PETER, GET THEE BEHIND ME SATAN: THOU ART AN OFFENSE UNTO ME: FOR THOU SAVOURIST NOT THE THING THAT BE OF GOD, BUT OF THOSE THAT BE OF MEN." Matthew 16:23

Here is a portion of Eusebius of Caesarea’s commentary on the Psalms:
‘And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; he flashed forth lightnings, and routed them. Then the channels of the sea were seen, and the foundations of the world were laid bear, at thy rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of thy nostrils’ (Ps. 18.14)...By ‘the foundations of the world,’ we shall understand the strength of God’s wisdom, by which, first, the order of the universe was established, and then, the world itself was founded—a world which will not be shaken. Now, as regards petra in Matthew 16:18, the three possible interpretations are:
(1) The RCC view, though Augustine and Eusebius of Caesarea (“the Father of Church History” per the Catholic-oriented site New Advent) do not agree. Moreover, Tertullian and Origen do not adhere to this view. If one were to attempt to counter that the latter two were considered “heretics” by the RCC, this would fall prey to the genetic fallacy—just because a source is deemed wrong in one area does not mean the source is always wrong.
(2) That Peter’s confession is the 2nd “rock” (petra), the view of Augustine, e.g.
(3) That Christ is the 2nd “rock” (petra).
To take one verse, ONE VERSE, and create an entire doctrine out of it, a doctrine that is not supported by any other Scripture, and is contradicted by early “Church Fathers”, seems perilous to me. Even if it can be unequivocally proven that there’s been a succession of bishops at Rome after Peter, this still does not prove that the bishop of Rome was recognized as the “Pope” of the Church from the beginning. The way I see it, the papacy has been anachronistically retrofitted.
Jesus Christ Himself will tell every single one of you on Judgement day that HE created the Catholic Church in the year 33 AD (before He was crucified and died for the sins of ALL mankind)... and that there has been an unbroken line of Popes from the year 33 AD up through the present time (which is historical FACT). It will be up to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as to how He judges Pope Francis. It is certainly not going to be up to any of you.
Since God gave each and every one of us a free will... you can choose to either accept or deny this TRUTH.
None of this is going to hurt ME... only yourselves.

I assume you are aware that the former is considered a "Doctor of the Church", while the latter is considered "the Father of Church History". Yet, by their very words above, they disagree with the RCC doctrine of the papacy. How can that be?

First of all, Augustine didn't become a convert to the Catholic Church until the age of 31.
Later, he became known as 'a Doctor of the Church' and 'ONE of the Fathers of Christianity'... but, he was never called 'the Father of Church 'HISTORY'.
Actually, I have read his extensive writings, and I disagree with much of his philosophy.
Ultimately, I am not responsible for any person who either agrees or disagrees with the Church. I mean... what does that have to do with ME? It has absolutely no influence on my beliefs whatsoever.

IF Peter was the first leader of the church (IF), there was no pope for another 300 years. In the book of Acts it is evident that James is leading the apostles when he has the final word on their discussion. Peter is subordinate.
The churches around the empire were autonomous. There was no central leadership. There was no 1 leader. There was no leader until Rome declared Christianity legal and established a system to administer the religion. At some point in the late 4th or early 5th century one of the Bishops of Rome declared himself the universal bishop. So we go from the 1st century to the 4th with no pope.
The catholic organization claims that all the bishops of Rome after Peter were popes. It can’t be proven that Peter ever was in Rome. No subsequent bishops of Rome were popes until 300+ years later.

AN “UNBROKEN CHAIN” OF PAPAL SUCCESSION?
In 2013, the Vatican Information Service announced: “Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, S. J., has been elected as Supreme Pontiff, the 265th successor of Peter.”
The belief that Jesus started the Catholic church is based on apostolic succession – that a succession of Popes have descended from apostle Peter to the current Pope.
Catholics believe all other churches cannot even be called ‘churches’ in the proper sense because they do not have this. But the idea that Peter was “the first pope” from whom a dynasty of popes emerged has no support in the Bible.
In the absence of Biblical evidence, Catholic apologists clutch at early church history, employing tricks to make it validate their position.
In a debate between Dave Hunt and Karl Keating titled, “Was the Early Church Catholic?” Mr Keating quoted some patristic works to support apostolic succession and papal primacy, but his quotes were out of context. Here are two examples:
He said: “Clement, the 4th bishop of Rome, writing to the Corinthians in the year 96 said: ‘Our apostles appointed those who had already been mentioned and afterwards added the further provision that if they were to die, other approved men should succeed in their ministry.”
This quote was taken from 1 Clement 44 but he omitted a sentence:
“Our apostles also knew, through our Lord Jesus Christ, and there would be strife on account of the office of the episcopate. For this reason, therefore, inasmuch as they had obtained a perfect fore-knowledge of this, they appointed those [ministers] already mentioned, and afterwards gave instructions, that when these should fall asleep, other approved men should succeed them in their ministry.”
Notice that plural appointed ministers were referred to here. The “office of the episcopate” refers to bishops or overseers (Gr: episcopois) which is synonymous with elders (Gr: presbuterous). See Acts 14:23, 20:17, 28, Titus 1:5-7, Phil. 1:1, 1 Pet. 5:1-5.
Karl Keating also quoted Irenaeus:
“It is necessary to obey those as we have shown have succession from the apostles, those who have received with the succession of the episcopate…”
This was taken from his work, Against Heresies:
“It is necessary to obey the presbyters who are in the church – those who, as I have shown, possess the succession from the Apostles. For those presbyters, together with the succession of bishops…” (3:3:1)
Again, the source refers to presbyters/elders, not a pope. Both citations do not support his claims.
This is one of the shortcomings of oral debates – a person can easily sway the audience with misquotes, rhetoric or body language. In a written debate, such slyness will not work.
This is not a matter of being an erudite scholar. You can be a genius of all time, but if facts and truth are not on your side, you can be defeated by an infant who knows the truth.
Why apostolic succession is false
It is based on false assumptions. Catholics who try to make a case for apostolic succession have a whole set of unproven axioms which colour their view of Scripture and history.
These Catholics:
a) assume Peter resided in Rome. If 1 Pet. 5:13 proves he was in Rome, then 1 Cor. 1:12, 9:5 would also prove he was in Corinth. Neither passages prove he was resident in Rome.
b) assume Peter was the bishop of Rome. An apostle is a “sent one” and it differs from the office of a bishop.
Being an apostle is analogous to being a prophet; it’s a calling, not an office. That Peter was an apostle doesn’t automatically make him a bishop.
c) assume Peter was the first bishop of Rome who started the church of Rome.
The early Roman churches (note the plural) were house churches made up of Jewish or Gentile members or both (Rom. 16:5, Acts 18:2). Peter didn’t start the church of Rome.
d) assume Peter was the “only” bishop of Rome. This is refuted by the fact that New Testament church leadership was pluralistic, not monarchical. A plurality of bishops (pastor/elders) presided over a local church.
Whenever Catholics come across the word “bishop” in patristic works, they read their own idea of a monarchical prelacy into it, whereas the idea of a single bishop presiding over a plurality of churches wasn’t the early model.
e) assume Peter ordained a successor. He didn’t. Even if he ordained a candidate, that would make him a pastor, not a pope. Popes are elected, not ordained.
If the apostles appointed pastors or elders, that doesn’t really make them successors. Ordination entails a succession in teaching, not a succession in authority.
Take note also, that while Mathias was chosen to replace Judas, no one was chosen to replace James (Acts 12:1).
The belief is hinged on doubtful sources.
Irenaeus’ listings of bishops is said to be the “list of popes” who succeeded Peter. He listed Linus, Anacletus, Clement, Evaristus, Alexander, Sixtus, Telesphorus, Hyginus, Pius, Anicetus, Soter and Eleutherius (Against Heresies 3:3:4).
First of all, the term “pope” or “papa” was generally used for all bishops from the third century. It wasn’t until 1079 AD that the title was reserved for the bishop of Rome, so it’s anachronistic to use this list as a proof of papal succession.
Second, Irenaeus places Paul and Peter together as bishops without saying anything about the primacy of Peter. This list was compiled by Hegesippus and there was a reason it was presented:
“The first claim to a succession from the apostles in support of particular doctrines was made in the second century by the Gnostics … Hegesippus, an opponent of Gnosticism, compiled a list of bishops in Rome (Eusebius, H. F. 4.22.5f). Irenaeus of Lyons drew on the idea of the succession of bishops to formulate an orthodox response to the Gnostic claim of a secret tradition going back to the apostles” (Everett Ferguson, Encyclopedia of Early Christianity, 1999, pp. 94-95).
Ireneaus’ list contradicts that of Tertullian (Praescriptione, xxii) in which Clement comes after apostle Peter. Interestingly, the New Advent Catholic Encyclopedia has this to say about “pope” Linus:
“We cannot be positive whether this identification of the pope as being the Linus mentioned in 2 Timothy 4:21 goes back to an ancient and reliable source, or originated later on account of the similarity of the name … The dates given in this catalogue, A.D. 56 until A.D. 67, are incorrect . Perhaps … Linus had held the position of head of the Roman community during the life of the Apostle … But this hypothesis has no historical foundation … The “Liber Pontificalis” asserts that Linus’ home was in Tuscany, and that his father’s name was Herculanus; but we cannot discover the origin of this assertion.”
The Vatican has published conflicting lists of popes from Peter which had to be revised. The earliest list is from the Liber Pontificalis (presumably first composed in the 6th century), yet even the New Catholic Encyclopedia says:
“But it must be frankly admitted that bias or deficiencies in the sources make it impossible to determine in certain cases whether the claimants were popes or antipopes” (1967, 1:632).
The ugly truth is, the Catholic “church” is yet to verify an accurate and complete list of the popes. The so-called “unbroken line of succession back to Peter” is pure fiction.
The nature of papal successions.
For apostolic succession to occur, each pope must choose his own successor and personally lay hands on him and ordain him.
This was how Paul and Barnabas were appointed before they were sent forth by the church at Antioch (Acts 13:3). Timothy’s appointment to the ministry was also by the elders laying hands on him (1 Tim. 4:14).
This biblical procedure is never followed with regard to successors of Catholic popes or bishops. Papal succession has most often followed ungodly procedures:
a) Many popes were installed by political intrigues.
During the Middle Ages, the papacy was owned by powerful families (e.g the Caetani, Conti, Orsini, Colonna etc). Pope Boniface VII, a Caetani, had to battle the Colonna to remain in power.
In 1303, he was seized by the emissaries of Philip the Fair of France and Rome fell into French possession. As a result, the papacy was moved to France, and from 1309-77, the popes were French and resided at Avignon.
“From the 4th to the 11th century, the influence of temporal rulers in papal elections reached its zenith. Not only the Roman emperors, but also, in their turn, the Ostrogoth kings … attempted to control the selection of Roman pontiff. This civil intervention ranged from the approval of elected candidates to the actual nomination of candidates (with tremendous pressure exerted on the electors to secure their acceptance) and even to the extreme of forcible deposition and imposition.” (Cath. Ency. 11:572b)
That pagan rulers rigged papal elections proved that the popes weren’t chosen by the Holy Spirit.
b) Many popes bought the papal seat.
Wealthy candidates bought their way to becoming pope (simony) or bribed their opponents to step down.
Pope Alexander VI (1492-1503) bought the papal throne with “villas, towns and abbeys …[and] four mule-loads of silver to his greatest rival, Cardinal Sforza, to induce him to step down” (Peter de Rosa, Vicars of Christ, 1988, 104).
The papal throne was so commercialized that John XII became pope at 16 and Benedict IX at 11, because their families were wealthy. As a Catholic historian notes, “the Apostolic throne … was now bought and sold like a piece of merchandise.”
When Benedict IX was tired of being pope and was eager to devote himself to his favourite lover, he sold the papacy for 1500 pounds of gold to his godfather, Giovanni Gratiano, who then became pope in 1054 under the name Gregory VI. Apostolic succession? No.
c) Many became popes through violence and murder.
Gregory of Tusculum, a powerful warlord, used the power of the sword to install 3 of his sons and a grandson (one succeeding the other) as popes.
When Pope Benedict IX fled his papal chair, John, bishop of the Sabine hills, entered Rome and installed himself as pope Sylvester III (1045). Then Benedict stormed back overpowered him and ruled again as pope (Dave Hunt, A Woman rides the Beast, 1994, 106).
It’s sheer mockery to call this “apostolic succession.”
In the 9th century, “popes scrambled onto the bloodstained [papal] throne, maintained themselves precariously for a few weeks – or even days – before being hurled themselves into their own graves” (E. R. Chamberlin, The Bad Popes, 1969, 21).
Pope Alexander V (1409-10) who was notably attended to by 300 females in his regal palace, was poisoned to death by Baldassare Cossa who then became Pope John XXIII.
At a point, there were 3 popes ruling over different portions of Rome which their private army controlled, until Emperor Henry III marched into Rome with his army and presided over a synod that deposed all three “popes” and installed Clement II, his own choice.
d) Papal succession has been influenced by sex.
Not less than 6 popes (e.g Pope Anastasius, Pope Lando etc.) were put in their offices by a mother-and-daughter pair of prostitutes. A historian notes that:
“The influence of two prostitutes, Marozia and Theodora, was founded on their wealth and beauty, their political and amorous intrigues. The most strenuous of their lovers were rewarded with the Roman mitre …The bastard son, the grandson, and the great grandson of Marozia – a rare genealogy – were seated in the Chair of St. Peter” (Edward Gibbon, The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, 1830, xlix).
That harlots – Theodora and Marozia – determined who became pope disproves apostolic succession.
Marozia’s grandson, Octavian, also became John XII – a pope so obsessed with illicit sex that he was killed by a husband who caught him having sex with his wife!
The holy order quicksand
Only a valid priest can become a valid bishop and only a valid bishop can become a cardinal and then a valid pope. I use the word “valid” because there are certain conditions which can invalidate a person from receiving a lawful holy order.
The New Catholic Encyclopedia (7:89) states that “the lawful reception of Orders demands outstanding and habitual goodness of life, especially perfect chastity . Solid possession of this latter virtue is an indispensable condition of clerical vocation and its presence must be positively evident.”
How can a person’s “habitual goodness” be verified? Do the administers read the minds of the candidates? How can “perfect chastity” be “positively evident” in males (since females don’t become popes)? How do they prove male virginity? Can you see the quicksand here?
The person administering the holy orders must also meet up with certain conditions: “the sanctity and dignity of the sacrament [of holy orders] demands for lawful and worthy administration that the minister be in a state of grace, free of ecclesiastical penalties” (Ibid, 7:88a).
How many priests or bishops, from the medieval period to this present day, meet up to all these conditions? By Rome’s own standards, there is a high probability that they have been electing anti-popes!
When we also consider the fact that many popes were heretics, this automatically breaks the link in the apostolic succession chain.
And if just one papal link is “missing” – whether by dubious records, political, sexual or corrupt ascension to the papal seat – then the whole “unbroken chain of apostolic succession” becomes a grievous lie!
Why Rome’s apologists still defend this falsehood was summed up by Ignatius of Loyola:
“That we may be altogether of the same mind and in conformity with the Church herself, if she shall have defined anything to be black which to our eyes appears to be white, we ought in like manner pronounce it black” (Rules for Thinking with the Church, Rule 13).
In God’s kingdom, however, truth is more important, and only those who love and embrace the truth will be set free (John 8:32).

You apparently misread my most recent comment. When I wrote “the former” I was referring to Augustine in the first sentence. When I wrote “the latter” I was referring to Eusebius. It is Eusebius who is called “the Father of Church History” (because of his Ecclesiatical History). It is Augustine who is considered a “Doctor”.
Though it is true Augustine did not “convert to Catholicism” until he was 31, prior to this he was Manichaean, which was of Gnostic origins. He did not write either works I referenced above while a Manichaean; he wrote them as a “Catholic”.
Any opinions of Augustine or Eusebius do not CHANGE the words spoken by Jesus in 33 AD.
If we assume the RCC doctrine of the papacy was in place at the time of both men, certainly neither Augustine nor Eusebius would have written their views regarding Matthew 16:18 without some sort of censure by the RCC.
More importantly, you are merely reasserting your claim. While you are certainly entitled to have your own opinion on this matter—to adhere to the teaching of Catholicism—this interpretation is merely that: an interpretation. This is one of at least three possible ones. To merely reassert your claim that these are “the words spoken by Jesus in 33 AD” does not deem your claim true. And by claiming these are Jesus’ words according your interpretation of them is to engage in circular reasoning: the claim is true because you say Jesus’ words mean what you say they mean.
No one is calling into question the content of Jesus’ words. I’ll even quote from the Douay-Rheims version: thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church. Or the NAB(RE): you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church. I absolutely affirm these translations are valid. These are Jesus’ words translated into English. But, to reiterate, I disagree with the RCC interpretation of them.

Of all the books of the New Testament, God used Peter to write only TWO epistles; 1 &b 2 Peter. That's it. Paul, on the other hand was used of God to write 13 ... possibly 14 epistles. While Peter is SUPPOSED to be the "1st. pope," Paul sternly corrected Peter's error, publicly, as recorded in Galatians 2: 11-14. Why would Paul be correcting the "infallible pope" Peter on matters of doctrine?
Here is another; Peter (who is claimed to be the 1st. "Roman Catholic pope"), in his entire writings of his 2 Epistles, never ONCE mentions ANY doctrine or dogma that is PECULIAR to Roman Catholicism ! NOT A SINGLE ONE. Think about that.

It is a very well kept secret that New York City government is run by left-wing communist/socialist Jews and their “muscle,” the Blacks.
This mechanism of control exists at all levels and branches of NYC government, in its legislature, executive, and judicial branches, as well as in its police force and other socialist agencies run out of NYC Social Services.
The feds need to step in and investigate and stamp out this complete and total culture of corruption on racial and religious grounds, but they won’t, for fear of being called “anti-semitic” or “anti-black.”

Therefore, there is no 'debate' here. We just DISAGREE... period!!!
WHERE is it written ANYWHERE in the Bible that the teachings of Jesus come from scripture ALONE??? Absolutely nowhere!!!
We Catholics believe in Scripture PLUS Apostolic Tradition... based on the ORAL teachings of Jesus and his 12 Apostles (who have passed down their writings).
If you can't ACCEPT what we believe... then, that is YOUR problem... it's certainly not ours!!!
