Thanks for the compliment (this is Physicist). I've continued to read this blog but not comment for quite a long time. I respectfully disagree with Constance about Trump (and hope she reflects on how she formerly said many similar things about Javier Solana which came to nothing), but I have been appalled at the invective hurled at her here while she has remained entirely courteous. It's her blog, and if someone disagrees with what she writes then they should go somewhere else. She has written one very good book (which is more than most people) and has recently lost her husband and undergone major health trials of her own. These are general comments, not aimed at the person to whom I am replying.

California Democrats Block Bill to Make Sex Trafficking of Minors a Felony — Again
California Democrats in the State Assembly are once again blocking a bill that would make the sex trafficking of minors a felony — this time for victims age 16 and 17 — preferring instead to give prosecutors discretion.
Notably, some of those prosecutors would be George Soros-backed prosecutors who have avoided enforcing the law in the name of “criminal justice reform,” and whom voters have begun to oust across the state.
The blocking effort is the latest chapter in a saga that began in 2023. As Breitbart News reported at the time, Republican State Senator Shannon Grove (R-Bakersfield) had introduced a bill to make sex trafficking of minors a “serious felony.” It passed unanimously in the State Senate, but Democrats on the State Assembly’s Public Safety Committee blocked the bill, since they did not want to increase criminal penalties generally.

Now I have nothing against Native Americans, and have friends amongst them. However having lived in Arizona for 4 decades, and asking Native American people how they feel about the second invasion, the vast majority of them are very much against.
Here is a microcosm example. I picked up a Navajo woman hitchhiking to the reservation on I-17. She told me she had lived just north of the Phoenix Native American Hospital for many years, but this day, with one small bag, she was leaving what had been, since Phoenix's very early days, her and her tribes neighborhood. Why you ask, because she said the Mexicans were shooting at her house. She said she was the last holdout in what was always her tribe's neighborhood! Kinda sad if you ask me! Seems the 'christian invaders' didn't want diversity in what is sadly now, their neighborhood!
