When a US president colludes with or outright coerces media companies to censor political speech, it's an attack on our most sacred right of free expression, and that's the very right upon which all of our other constitutional rights rest.
President Biden mocked Vladimir Putin's 88% landslide in the Russian elections, observing that Putin and his party controlled the Russian press and that Putin prevented serious opponents from appearing on the ballot. But here in America the DNC also prevented opponents from appearing on the ballot, and our television networks expose themselves as Democratic Party organs over the course of more than a year.

I looked through a hundred polls over the last 6 months on 528 and most polls had Kennedy less than 5%. However, I did see a few early on in very red states, like Utah, where Kennedy came in around at 9 or 10% as republicans were obviously throwing early support his way in an effort to lend support to anyone but Trump.
Actually...when I went to link the poll, I found one singular Harris poll in Utah where Kennedy had at exactly 20% on June 7, 2024. Not the "High 20's" as claimed but close. Especially interesting is the focus on the "apostasy" spoken of in 2 Thess. 2, and what it could mean. Most evangelicals I've heard or read take it to mean a "falling away" from the faith, that happens over a period of time, perhaps even a long period of time (decades or even centuries). I've also heard some say a better translation would be "rebellion".
Some say that because the word in the original is preceded by a definite article, that whatever is being referred to is a single event in time, as in "the rebellion" or "the apostasy", so therefore can't apply to a general process like "sliding into disbelief" or "sliding away from the faith" that happens over a longer period of time.
Perhaps Craig would care to weigh in on this. He may have even written on it already on his blog.
The idea that there are actually three main groups of people at the end of days, where the final conflict between Christ and Antichrist takes place, is interesting. Those three groups are: The obvious "pagan" world, who rejects God and His Son Jesus, whom Satan has under his power; the true Church, who are in the Faith and belong to Christ; and the "fake" church, who think they are doing the work of God and are saved, but they are deluded in one way or another, and are also under Satan's power.
What I found particularly interesting in the video is the idea that the "rebellion" is actually the true remnant church rebelling against, or leaving, the false church that has become the de facto "church of the world".
This "church of the world" we can see being created right now, as interfaithism becomes the operative method of "doing church". There is an ever-growing push to bring the various faiths of the world together into one religious blob. Those who oppose such a thing would be seen as rebels - separatists.
Perhaps there will be some event, soon to transpire, that will cause people to have to choose - join the universal church, which is the church for the advancement of humanity, or become someone who is against the progress of humanity in its path toward divinity and be an outcast, a rebel.
During this time, the Antichrist may make his entrance. In fact, that entrance, or a series of events within a short space of time that causes his entrance, may be what initiates the rebellion, or "falling away" or "leaving".
Such a scenario is not completely outside the realm of possibility, is it?
Here’s my overall ‘quick’ take, critique. The “Church” (ekklēsia) strictly consists of true believers. There are no ‘false believers’ in the ekklēsia. Thus, I might summarily reject this interpretation; however, it may just be kinda sloppy in its execution. The author may mean there are, as I’ve recently stated in a post critiquing a statement by John MacArthur (“’The Church is Full of False Believers’”), Many tares planted amongst the Wheat. This is more Biblical, using Matt 13:24–30 as a basis.
And so I summarily reject this idea there are three groups. There are only two: believers and non-believers. Of course, there are tares (‘false believers’), but this group shouldn’t be construed as a third category—they are simply non-believers. What does Jesus instruct us to do with these ‘tares’?: Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and at the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, ‘First gather up the weeds and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn’ (Matt 13:30, NASB; cf. Rev 14:14–20).
I think it best to stick strictly to the context in 2Thess 2. For this reason, I reject the interpretation that the “rebellion”—my preferred translation—refers to believers ‘falling away’ (though this is clearly in Scripture elsewhere). Yes, this “rebellion” is a noun preceded by the Greek article. The governing verb “come” or “comes” is in the aorist tense-form, which connotes a simple statement (perfective aspect) without reference to a process (where an imperfective tense-form would be used). [The analogy would be looking at a parade from a helicopter {perfective} versus watching a parade taking place from the street {imperfective}.] It may refer to a one-time event or an event having taken place over time (e.g. Death reigned from Adam to Moses; Romans 5:14). But it’s the context which militates against viewing this as the latter (over time). That’s my take on this portion.
To me, the more pressing question is whether ‘the rebellion comes first’ and ‘the revealing of the man of lawlessness’ are (completely?) separate events, or if the two are in quick succession, thereby suggesting the latter immediately follows the former. In other words, could it be that the first is the necessary condition for the second? I would unequivocally say “yes”. This “rebellion”, then, would be defined in the description following the man of lawlessness’ revealing. Here is how I translated this recently: …that Day will not begin unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 the one opposing and exalting himself above all that is called “God” or “object of worship”, such that he seats himself in God’s sanctuary, proclaiming that he himself is God.

Really, there are only the Children of Light and Children of Darkness; the sheep and the goats; the sheep and the wolves. The wolves who creep into the Church were never part of the Church. I was recently reading through a thread of comments on a FB page talking about sheep and goats from a "limited atonement" perspective. Christ is the good shepherd for the sheep, but not the goats. But that's another topic...
One other question I would like your take on (which I didn't see specifically addressed in that series you linked to).
Is there anything in the context of 2 Thess. 2 that would cause one to think that "the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him" in v. 1 and "the Day of the Lord" in v. 2 are two different events that happen at different times? And just for fun, let's add another event/time - the time of His destruction of the man of lawlessness in v. 8 "by the appearance of His coming." ("And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming.")
It seems to be more or less obvious that the time spoken of in v. 8 is a later time than what it spoken of in vv. 1 & 2, since the man of lawlessness can't be revealed and then destroyed at the same time, right?
You're right; it is all a question of time and sequence.
I really think 2 Thess. 2 is a pivotal chapter in developing any chronology of end times events. Perhaps this is why so many use eisegesis when interpreting that passage.
The first thing to consider is that “the Day of the Lord” may not be a literal 24 hour day (see my footnotes 19 and 20 in the above link). This, to me, would better accord with the events in Revelation, as well.
In the Introduction to my series, you may find what I deem is the proper chronology of events in 2Thess2. It’s under the subsection Contextual Considerations.
Also, there are not one, but two parousias specifically listed in the Greek. Chronologically, the first one is the false parousia, which I interpret as the revealing of the man of lawlessness (which I view as this specifically: ‘he seats himself in God’s sanctuary, proclaiming that he himself is God.’) . This is followed by the True Parousia, aka the Second Coming. See my older post (which is referenced at footnote 9 of the 2nd part of the series): Not One Parousia, But Two.
Now, my overall take in the series is framed differently than anyone else I’ve read, and so my conclusion is also different. That is, my identity of “the restrainer” is completely different than anyone else’s I’ve found. But, I carefully go through the text and context, and I think that a motivated reader can glean quite a bit of insight from it, if s/he starts at the Intro. (I did rely on a number of scholars; it’s just that my framing was different with regard to "the restrainer", which then prompted a different conclusion.)
How can a 'Christian' vote for Harris/Walz? Trump may do little to change abortion law, but these two, as Biden did, will promote its furtherance. Plus they will continue to promote the LGBTQ+ agenda. As Servando Gonzalez called it, The Gay New World Order.

Even though I am a Protestant, I found the video interesting.
Especially interesting is the focus on the "apostasy" spoken of in 2 Thess. 2, and what it could mean. Most evangelicals I've heard or read take it to mean a "falling away" from the faith, that happens over a period of time, perhaps even a long period of time (decades or even centuries). I've also heard some say a better translation would be "rebellion".
Some say that because the word in the original is preceded by a definite article, that whatever is being referred to is a single event in time, as in "the rebellion" or "the apostasy", so therefore can't apply to a general process like "sliding into disbelief" or "sliding away from the faith" that happens over a longer period of time.
Perhaps Craig would care to weigh in on this. He may have even written on it already on his blog.
The idea that there are actually three main groups of people at the end of days, where the final conflict between Christ and Antichrist takes place, is interesting. Those three groups are: The obvious "pagan" world, who rejects God and His Son Jesus, whom Satan has under his power; the true Church, who are in the Faith and belong to Christ; and the "fake" church, who think they are doing the work of God and are saved, but they are deluded in one way or another, and are also under Satan's power.
What I found particularly interesting in the video is the idea that the "rebellion" is actually the true remnant church rebelling against, or leaving, the false church that has become the de facto "church of the world".
This "church of the world" we can see being created right now, as interfaithism becomes the operative method of "doing church". There is an ever-growing push to bring the various faiths of the world together into one religious blob. Those who oppose such a thing would be seen as rebels - separatists.
Perhaps there will be some event, soon to transpire, that will cause people to have to choose - join the universal church, which is the church for the advancement of humanity, or become someone who is against the progress of humanity in its path toward divinity and be an outcast, a rebel.
During this time, the Antichrist may make his entrance. In fact, that entrance, or a series of events within a short space of time that causes his entrance, may be what initiates the rebellion, or "falling away" or "leaving".
Such a scenario is not completely outside the realm of possibility, is it?

Here’s my overall ‘quick’ take, critique. The “Church” (ekklēsia) strictly consists of true believers. There are no ‘false believers’ in the ekklēsia. Thus, I might summarily reject this interpretation; however, it may just be kinda sloppy in its execution. The author may mean there are, as I’ve recently stated in a post critiquing a statement by John MacArthur (“’The Church is Full of False Believers’”), Many tares planted amongst the Wheat. This is more Biblical, using Matt 13:24–30 as a basis.
And so I summarily reject this idea there are three groups. There are only two: believers and non-believers. Of course, there are tares (‘false believers’), but this group shouldn’t be construed as a third category—they are simply non-believers. What does Jesus instruct us to do with these ‘tares’?: Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and at the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, ‘First gather up the weeds and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn’ (Matt 13:30, NASB; cf. Rev 14:14–20).
I think it best to stick strictly to the context in 2Thess 2. For this reason, I reject the interpretation that the “rebellion”—my preferred translation—refers to believers ‘falling away’ (though this is clearly in Scripture elsewhere). Yes, this “rebellion” is a noun preceded by the Greek article. The governing verb “come” or “comes” is in the aorist tense-form, which connotes a simple statement (perfective aspect) without reference to a process (where an imperfective tense-form would be used). [The analogy would be looking at a parade from a helicopter {perfective} versus watching a parade taking place from the street {imperfective}.] It may refer to a one-time event or an event having taken place over time (e.g. Death reigned from Adam to Moses; Romans 5:14). But it’s the context which militates against viewing this as the latter (over time). That’s my take on this portion.
To me, the more pressing question is whether ‘the rebellion comes first’ and ‘the revealing of the man of lawlessness’ are (completely?) separate events, or if the two are in quick succession, thereby suggesting the latter immediately follows the former. In other words, could it be that the first is the necessary condition for the second? I would unequivocally say “yes”. This “rebellion”, then, would be defined in the description following the man of lawlessness’ revealing. Here is how I translated this recently: …that Day will not begin unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 the one opposing and exalting himself above all that is called “God” or “object of worship”, such that he seats himself in God’s sanctuary, proclaiming that he himself is God.

Thanks Craig. Yes, I guess it is a stretch to say there are three categories of people, to the extent that on a basic level (salvation-wise), there could be more than two groups. Really, there are only the Children of Light and Children of Darkness; the sheep and the goats; the sheep and the wolves. The wolves who creep into the Church were never part of the Church. ("18 Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us." -- 1 John 2:18-19)
I was recently reading through a thread of comments on a FB page talking about sheep and goats from a "limited atonement" perspective. Christ is the good shepherd for the sheep, but not the goats. But that's another topic...
One other question I would like your take on (which I didn't see specifically addressed in that series you linked to).
Is there anything in the context of 2 Thess. 2 that would cause one to think that "the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him" in v. 1 and "the Day of the Lord" in v. 2 are two different events that happen at different times? And just for fun, let's add another event/time - the time of His destruction of the man of lawlessness in v. 8 "by the appearance of His coming." ("And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming.")
It seems to be more or less obvious that the time spoken of in v. 8 is a later time than what it spoken of in vv. 1 & 2, since the man of lawlessness can't be revealed and then destroyed at the same time, right?
You're right; it is all a question of time and sequence.
I really think 2 Thess. 2 is a pivotal chapter in developing any chronology of end times events. Perhaps this is why so many use eisegesis when interpreting that passage.

The first thing to consider is that “the Day of the Lord” may not be a literal 24 hour day (see my footnotes 19 and 20 in the above link). This, to me, would better accord with the events in Revelation, as well.
In the Introduction to my series, you may find what I deem is the proper chronology of events in 2Thess2. It’s under the subsection Contextual Considerations.
Also, there are not one, but two parousias specifically listed in the Greek. Chronologically, the first one is the false parousia, which I interpret as the revealing of the man of lawlessness (which I view as this specifically: ‘he seats himself in God’s sanctuary, proclaiming that he himself is God.’) . This is followed by the True Parousia, aka the Second Coming. See my older post (which is referenced at footnote 9 of the 2nd part of the series): Not One Parousia, But Two.
Now, my overall take in the series is framed differently than anyone else I’ve read, and so my conclusion is also different. That is, my identity of “the restrainer” is completely different than anyone else’s I’ve found. But, I carefully go through the text and context, and I think that a motivated reader can glean quite a bit of insight from it, if s/he starts at the Intro. (I did rely on a number of scholars; it’s just that my framing was different with regard to "the restrainer", which then prompted a different conclusion.)
