Who was this key player in "The Pentagon's New Map" Javier Solana, maybe?

It looks like Thomas P. M. Barnett's old books on THE PENTAGON'S NEW MAP are receiving a good deal of current attention.  Looking at the European Union and its current remilitarization combined with anti-Trumpism, I found this passage in the second of those "New Map" books.  What and who do you suppose Thomas P. M. Barnett may have meant by this?

The European Union's "Woodrow Wilson": The EU is setting up
a constitution that will create a Secretary-of-State-like position
of Foreign Minister to speak on behalf of the entire continent on
global diplomatic and security affairs. This official needs to
occupy a special role in the Core's efforts to shrink the Gap, one
that fundamentally focuses on the promotion of democratic rule
there. As the United States will always be cast in the role of military
lead, its diplomatic focus will naturally remain on the
removal of bad regimes inside the Gap, as opposed to the creation
of good ones. The EU's new foreign minister needs to play
"good cop" on this one, constantly holding America's feet to the
fire regarding our nonstop rhetoric of promoting freedom
around the world. This official needs to be our moral conscience,
not in an effort to obstruct the employment of the Leviathan but
to make sure the Core as a whole follows through adequately
with the SysAdmin. (page 129)

Three guesses and the first two don't count!

I've been composing a much longer piece that includes this -- it is still in draft form.

Stay tuned!

Hi Constance,

Haven't been by in a while. I hope you are well.

I think any discussion of the EU should include the book "The European Union Collective: Enemy of its Member States" by Christopher Story.

The complete title is this:

The European Union Collective: Enemy of its Member States -- A Study in Russian and German Strategy to Complete Lenin's World Revolution

Quite the mouthful, but it's quite good. Look for Russian / German cooperation even more so than is currently going on.

Russia has portrayed itself to Europe as its savior from all the ills of the world - moral, cultural, political. Of course, America and the decadent West are at the top of the enemies list. It is lying, of course, about itself being a balm for Western ailments, but that doesn't keep ignorant (willful or otherwise) conservatives from parroting the Kremlin line.

FBI tells router users to reboot NOW to kill malware infecting 500k devices

Dan Goodin 05/25/2018 2:17 pm

The FBI is advising users of consumer-grade routers and network-attached storage devices to reboot them as soon as possible to counter Russian-engineered malware that has infected hundreds of thousands devices.

Researchers from Cisco’s Talos security team first disclosed the existence of the malware on Wednesday. The detailed report said the malware infected more than 500,000 devices made by Linksys, Mikrotik, Netgear, QNAP, and TP-Link. Known as VPNFilter, the malware allowed attackers to collect communications, launch attacks on others, and permanently destroy the devices with a single command. The report said the malware was developed by hackers working for an advanced nation, possibly Russia, and advised users of affected router models to perform a factory reset, or at a minimum to reboot...

That post shows how the mind of a pervert operates. She's brought to task for posting here her somewhat detailed (and on this subject all-too-detailed, let alone VILE) imaginings about the sexual excitation of CHILDREN and she says Oh, but "the MECHANISM should be known."

And then caps it off with: "Frankly your dislike of exposing evil makes me suspect you are a pedophile of the same sort."

P.S. To my 8:54 am

(Notice how she tries to SWITCH the criticism of her indecent description of her imaginings of the sexual excitement of children to be criticism of exposing pedophilia itself.)

Dear Christine,

I don't always agree with the tone of some of your many dissenters, yet it must be said you strut around here like a bitter peahen. With respect, if you weren't so stubborn and unduly defensive about things where you are clearly wrong then perhaps you wouldn't provoke such anger (though I am not justifying the way some of it is expressed, yet folk here are beyond exasperated with you).

It is clearly wrong, Biblically speaking, to state as you have done that to be "shacked up" with someone to whom you are not married is okay as long as you're in it for the long run.

If your commitment is truly there both to God and the person you claim to love then you would first move out until he repents and becomes a Christian (as we are warned not to be yoked with unbelievers) and not live with him until you have married the man.

If it is about saving money then you should know that you cannot love both God and mammon, to put your faith in money, rather than doing what is right and commanded by God in such circumstances, then you are loving the things of the World, and he or she who loves the things of the World does not have the Father in his or her heart, and therefore doesn't know the Father. Also, it is not loving towards Mike to lull him along in a Godless relationship fraught with a lack of real commitment and without any selfless love for his soul.

Decisions are not always easy in life yet we are called to walk the narrow path and not the broad one whilst pretending to throw petals towards the former. We must decide to stop walking the primrose way to the Everlasting Bonfire and hearken unto Jesus Christ's words: Matthew 22:37-40 King James Version

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

I truly hope you repent, Christine. To repent is to turn away from all wrongdoing and realize that what may seem right in man's eyes is not always so in the eyes of the Lord. The Holy Bible is clear on God's Will for our lives and on his commandments: notwithstanding, to obey the law of the land (when such laws are in harmony with God's) is a Biblical imperative.

Not hard at all to see how engrossed (and gross) Christine Erikson actually is with the subject of evil in many forms.

Much more than exposing it (which can be productive in the right venue, format, and context), she revels in too much detail, (especially while claiming to be a Christian) and why she deliberately unnecessarily posts juicy gratuitous details.
That is her fixation.

That is sick and twisted.

She deserves to be banned here and post to her hearts desire on porn sites, or, on her own, beyond ridiculous, blog.
Constance, I'd disable her link from your blog, if it were me.

And as if we're STUPID enough to buy her PATHETIC excuse that it was NECESSARY for her to have gone INTO DETAIL about the children's presumed (by HER) sexual excitement when she's supposedly only concerned about bringing forth a warning about "the mechanism" itself! ...Gee, it couldn't be, could it, that someone would quote a Bible passage while also claiming to be exposing pedophilia simply in order to provide a legitimate-sounding enough "cover" to then write FILTH?

PS: My study of history proves over and over again that totalitarian states use the "law" as a cover for their nefarious crimes against their own people. The Nazis used the infamous "People's Court," whereby robed Nazi "judges" held show trials, and Propaganda Minister Goebbels used the media, i.e. the People's Radio and Nazi newspapers as instruments to brainwash the people into believing "justice was being served." History repeats, because corrupt/sinful human nature DOES NOT CHANGE, but becomes increasingly corrupt and despotic when the power of government remains unchecked. IMO, Trump is attempting to break this cycle ... and you can see the 24/7 attacks on him as a result.

Just got the book "The World Turned Upside Down: The Global Battle over God, Truth, and Power" by Melanie Phillips. It looks to be an excellent book.

She, more than anyone else recently that I've read, has documented quite convincingly and eloquently the rapid decline of the UK into a "police state". Anything spoken or written that doesn't please the reigning ideology of those currently in power is being censored and eliminated from the public square. And we here in the US are following the same path way too closely.

Her website us

She's not a Christian (yet), but is at least a Christian apologist. I guess we could say she's a "pre-Christian". :^)

She has made the point, and I quite agree, that two events have shaken the up-til-then unhampered progress of the Progressives in the modern world: Trump's election, and, if it actually becomes finalized, Brexit.

Nothing sums up the contents of "The World Turned Upside Down: The Global Battle Over God, Truth, and Power" by Melanie Phillips, better than the basic description on the inside dustcover:

“The basic cause of all this unreason is a steady loss of faith in God. We tell ourselves that religion and reason are incompatible, but in fact the opposite is the case. It was Christianity and the Hebrew Bible that gave us our concepts of reason, progress and an orderly world—the foundations of science and modernity…

“The West is losing both its rationality and its freedoms. It is succumbing to a ‘soft totalitarianism,’ which not only is creating an ugly mood of intolerance but is undermining its ability to defend itself against Islamic aggression.”

Mrs. Phillips’ book contains an excellent analysis of how the fundamentals of biblical morality continue to be downgraded and degraded in our suffering world. She laments a “complete loss of moral and cultural bearings through multiculturalism and victim culture” with “truth and justice” being “turned on their heads” (p. 399).

Western apostasy analyzed in detail

In the preface, the author points out that members of the intelligentsia have converted popular fantasies into the realm of facts. “The sense that the world has slipped off the axis of reason has been greatly exacerbated by the fact that so many prominent people…have been saying all these strange and disturbing things” (p. x).

Examples of irrationality are offered in the first chapter. Mrs. Phillips comments: “While organized religion in many parts of the West is on the wane, with dwindling church attendance and a systematic erosion of Judeo-Christian principles by an intelligentsia for whom belief in God is evidence of deep stupidity or even insanity, Western society has filled the gap with a range of bizarre, irrational and premodern beliefs and behavior” (p. 2, emphasis added throughout).

We mention just one stark example. “In 1990 there were five thousand practicing British pagans; nearly a decade later, the number had risen to a hundred thousand” (p. 3). Today paganism is often viewed as just another religious faith. One British county allows police officers eight days off to observe pagan holidays such as the summer solstice and Halloween. Many occult practices are increasing in Britain.

In the chapters that follow, the author analyzes in detail the Iraq War, the widespread misrepresentation of Israel, the modern secular inquisition, the Jihad against Western freedom, the anti-Semitism among Islamic extremists and the general attack on Western civilization. Other relevant subjects are comprehensively addressed as well.

For those who may not wish to undertake reading the 408-page book, Standpoint magazine in Britain has published an excellent summary of the main points of the book. Also written by Melanie Phillips, the article carries the title “How the West Took Leave of Its Senses” (May 2010,

Moral values seriously undermined

We quote just one sentence from her summary in this article: “Morality has been privatised, so that everyone has become his or her own moral authority, while the laws rooted in Judaeo-Christian tradition come under attack.” This modern practice parallels the state of ancient Israel. This astute observation was made by the writer of an early Old Testament book. “In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes” (Judges 17:6). The conclusion repeats this important passage (see Judges 21:25).

Readers can find more articles by Melanie Phillips on most Monday mornings in the Daily Mail. The Melanie Phillips’ column warns British readers, and on rare occasions Western European nations, about the many forces that are relentlessly afflicting and undermining their countries.

Citizen journalist Tommy Robinson jailed under secret order from UK government; total media blackout issued to protect Muslim pedophiles

Monday, May 28, 2018

By Mike Adams / Natural News

UK citizen journalism Tommy Robinson, who has worked tirelessly to expose the Muslim pedophile and sex trafficking rings in the UK, has been arrested and jailed under a Soviet-style secret order from the UK government which then issued a total media blackout order to the press.

It is now a crime in the UK to report on Tommy Robinson’s arrest and imprisonment. Word is still getting out through independent media sources like InfoWars, which has interviewed Robinson’s camera man, who explained that the entire court prosecution of Robinson took “mere minutes,” after which Robinson was convicted and thrown in prison for 13 months, just hours after his arrest.

There was no time for any proper legal defense, no time to present evidence, not even time to make a counter argument. The corrupt UK court system, which turns out to be just as corrupt as the UK government, simply declared Robinson a criminal and threw him in jail. Within hours, a follow-up order went out to the media to demand a total blackout of all media coverage. Even Breitbart News pulled its stories about Robinson.

For the record, the UK government is run by criminal pedophiles who rely on Muslim pedo networks to provide a steady supply of nine and ten-year-old little girls and boys to be routinely raped, molested and sexually assaulted by high-level UK judges, legislators and bureaucrats. This is why Robinson is being so aggressively censored in a Soviet-style media blackout and secret court conviction that NO media outlet is even ALLOWED to report took place.

The UK — like mush of Western Europe — is currently in the process of being overrun by Muslims. The UK government is complicit in the scheme and has now criminalized anyone criticizing Muslims, even for running child trafficking networks that provide “fresh meat” to corrupt UK government officials.

The UK's Descent Into Tyranny Is Complete As They Coddle Islamic Grooming Gangs And Censor Truth While Dystopian-Sharia-Police-State Unfolds There

By Stefan Stanford - All News Pipeline - May 28, 2018

In this new story over at UKIP Daily that we were surprised to even find online after the 'ghosting' of many online stories in the UK after a judge ordered an Orwellian blackout upon any information related to Tommy Robinson's recent arrest and jailing in now openly-totalitarian England, the opening sentence speaks louder than words:

One of the truly pernicious ways the MSM and government work is by suppressing NEWS.

With America and the world recently plunged into a 'twilight zone' that Susan Duclos reported within this ANP story, the government of England's open censoring of the press there while protecting a Muslim child-grooming gang and coddling terrorists has proven to the world the depths to which the tyrannical British government has fallen. Yet the story of Tommy Robinson is also an open and very loud and clear warning to AMERICA.

Reminding us that should the Democrats have won the White House in 2016 leading to Hillary Clinton sitting in the Oval Office, America would have fallen to the SAME 'Tyranny With A Smile' that comes with the 'socialist' package that Hillary and the globalist democrats were trying to sell us, the sad story of Tommy Robinson truly is the canary in the coal mine.

And as we see detailed within this ANP story, despite President Trump being in office, globalist projects are progressing full speed ahead as if the globalists have said "Damn the 2016 election and the will of the American people".

Hmmm, powerful leftists hate that the people chose Trump and were not happy with the pro-Trump aspect of (and the unexpected great success of) the revived "Roseanne" TV Show, but even AGAINST ABC management's expressed statements, Roseanne Barr vowed to CONTINUE with the political orientation of her show:

-And quite possibly aided by "Roseanne's" tremendous ratings, Tim Allen's show got brought back. Good things were happening!

NOW, however...

"Roseanne Barr Goes on Wild (And Racist) Tweetstorm About Clintons, George Soros, Chris Cillizza

"It’s not a huge secret that Roseanne Barr, the star of the ABC hit sitcom, is a rampant conspiracy theorist who likely spends a little too much time in the annals of the internet.

"But a glance at Barr’s Twitter feed early Tuesday morning should alarm even the most ardent QAnon-crazy: she falsely claimed Chelsea Clinton was married to the nephew of every anti-Semite’s favorite boogeyman, George Soros[?!? Really? Well, then: Take Note All You Anti-Semites, any time you've dared criticize Soros is what MADE you an 'Anti-Semite'!] who she accused of trying to 'overthrow' the 'constitutional republic', raved about CIA mind control, called Chris Cillizza a 'a f*cking mouth breather', called Hillary Clinton 'a colostomy jug cuz full of sh"t,'
"And to top it all off, Barr sent out what appears to be a super racist tweet about former Obama senior adviser Valerie Jarrett, claiming she is the baby of the Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes"

Barr's responded to the reaction to that last, saying "it's a joke-" and "I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste."

Thanks due to a convenient excuse handed to them on a silver platter to get rid of a show that wouldn't conform to their liberal philosophies.

(Remember THESE are the very same ones who AXED the highly-rated "Last Man Standing"! Think they THEN wanted to KEEP "Roseanne" on the air when Barr REFUSED to change it to suit them?)

Sooo, what happened? Did Ms. Barr decide on a WHIM to just throw it all away? Was she DRUNK? Was she slipped a little something IN her drink?

Perhaps. BUT:

Should we ask HER?

Roseanne, what of it?

Another danger of Ambien is that it is highly addictive...

The news mogul included a scathing article about how the sleep aid is abused and used to commit horrific crimes, as well as a list of Ambien’s known side-effects, such as vomiting, memory loss, and suicidal thoughts.

Barr blamed Ambien for some of her distasteful late-night tweet rants on Tuesday, saying she’s “done weird stuff on Ambien” like “cracked eggs on a wall at 2am.”

But Ambien’s French-based parent company Sanofi responded to Roseanne’s claim Wednesday, asserting that “racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication.”

Approved by the FDA in 1992, Ambien is in the class of medications known as hypnotics, and has for years been known to induce bizarre mental states in a number of users.

“Ambien users sued Sanofi because of bizarre sleep-eating behaviors while on the drugs. According to Susan Chana Lask, attorney for the class action suit, people were eating things like buttered cigarettes and eggs, complete with the shells, while under the influence of Ambien,” HuffPo reported in 2014.

“Lask called people in this state ‘Ambien zombies.’ As a result of the lawsuit, and of increasing reports coming in about ‘sleep driving,’ the FDA ordered all hypnotics to issue stronger warnings on their labels.”

I don't think I have to convince YOU of this, but if anyone else thinks that Communism is dead in Russia he should think again.

After the "fall" of the Soviet Union in 1991, the Communist Party of the Soviet Union was outlawed. But in its place was established in 1993 the Communist Party of the Russian Federation which is the second largest political party of the Russian Federation.

The party is often viewed as the immediate successor of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, which was banned in 1991 by then-President Boris Yeltsin. It is the second largest political party in the Russian Federation after United Russia. The youth organisation of the party is the Leninist Young Communist League. The party is administered by the Central more...

Alexander Dugin has been called "Putin's Rasputin." Dugin was,for a while, teamed up with Gennady Zyuganov who is the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, and helped to write its political program. The newly refounded Communist Party of the Russian Federation is a reactionary far-left neo-Stalinist political party in which a personality cult has been created around Stalin and Zyuganov.

The party is extremely apologetic towards whatever atrocities Stalin or Lenin had committed and decide to treat them like necessary evils or ignore/deny that such things ever happened in the first place.....

Alexander Dugin who is an Evolian Traditionalist (follower of neo-pagan/gnostic Traditionalist Julius Evola) favors a "traditional" communism. He is also the head of the Eurasia Party which is often seen to be a form of National Bolshevism.

One of the basic ideas that underpin Eurasian theories is that "Moscow, Berlin, and Paris form a "natural" geopolitical axis, because a line or axis from Moscow to Berlin will pass through the vicinity of Paris if extended."

Dugin’s rise has been partly camouflaged by an intellectual biography that is complex and at times contradictory. An anticommunist in the 1980s, he worked closely with the remnants of the Communist Party after the fall of the Soviet Union. In the mid-1990s, he became involved with National Bolshevism, a group of political parties that openly espoused a combination of communist economics and radical Russian nationalism. He has praised Joseph Stalin and the Soviet Union while also supporting family and religious more...

While it appears to be "right wing" the Traditionalist School teaches the Perennialist philosophy just like the more familiar "left wing" New Age Movement. But make no mistake. The Traditionalist School IS New Age. It is just tricked out in a different style......all dressed up in its deceptive religiously "orthodox" finery. But whether "left" or "right," all New Age mystical groups teach the Perennialist philosophy (a.k.a. the "transcendent unity of all religions.') In other words, all religious roads lead to the one Sophia Perennis.

According to the book entitled AGAINST THE MODERN WORLD by Mark Sedgwick, up to now, the predominant religious "form" of the Traditionalist Schools seems to have been Sufism. Alexander Dugin wants to change all that and make the Russian Orthodox Church the most predominent religious "form" of Traditionalism in his Eurasianist agenda. Moreover, the Russian Orthodoxy Dugin favors is that of certain "Old Believers" whose beliefs are not what could be regarded as being quite "orthodox."

Apart from Julius Evola, another Traditionalist who influenced Dugin, was Rene Guenon. Rene Guenon along with the occultist Papus functioned as "bishops" in the gnostic church founded by Jules Doinel. Papus had been a member of Helena Petrovna Blavatsky's Theosophical Society before leaving to found his own theosophical society/ Martinist Order which focused more on Western esotericism. Rene Guenoin became a member of Papus' Martinist order.

My "enlightenment" on the issue of the so-called "right wing" - "left wing" dichotomy in esoteric circles as well as political circles came from reading the book entitled THE BIG LIE by Dinesh D'Sousa, who says that contrary to what people have been conditioned to believe, fascism IS A MOVEMENT - NOT OF THE RIGHT- BUT OF THE LEFT!!! He quotes from several books including Jonah Goldberg's LIBERAL FASCISM.

While Traditionalism is portrayed as being politically "right wing" and fascist when it waxes political, it is interesting to note that Dugin, who is often regarded as a "right wing" Traditionalist, should be involved in the creation of a "new and improved" Stalinist communism.

Re: Interesting, yet perhaps I don't have to convince YOU of this, but if anyone else thinks that Communism is dead in THE VATICAN he (OR SHE) should think again.

You are right. You DON'T have to convince me that Communism is NOT dead in the Vatican... OR in the Roman Catholic Church for that matter. However, you have yet to convince me that Pope Francis is a Communist.

Those who accuse Pope Francis of being a Communist because of his caring for the poor have obviously failed to make the distinction between "preferential option for the poor" according to the Marxist hermeneutic ( i.e. the "class struggle," hatred and the "politics of envy") on the one hand and "preferential option for the poor" according to the Gospel hermeneutic of "love of God and neighbor" on the other.

I have also seen time and again how Pope Francis, who does not speak English, has been misrepresented by false news reports that make it appear that he has said something that he has not actually said. I have pointed out a couple of instances right here on this blog.

While he headed the Jesuit order in Argentina, Pope Francis - then Father Jorge Bergoglio - made enemies among certain dissenting Jesuits who were enamored of the Marxist pseudo-theology known as "Liberation theology" after he cracked down on those Jesuits who embraced it.

Jesuit Archbishop recounts ‘strong stand’ of Pope Francis against Liberation Theology and Marxism

Pope Francis saved many from Argentina’s death squads
By Bob Fredericks
March 13, 2014

Moving on from Pope Francis, I would also point out that it is a known fact that the Soviet Union had an operation called "Outstretched Hand" whose function it was to enter Communist agents into the Catholic seminaries and become priests with a view to destroying the Catholic Church from within. Since the communists saw clerical celibacy as the Catholic Church's "Achilles heel," one doesn't have far to go in order to conclude that this would be precisely what the Communists would exploit and that the horrendous wave of sex abuse scandals in the Catholic Church didn't just pop up out of nowhere. Yes, there have always been instances of sexual misconduct in the Catholic Church, but the degree to which it occurred In the late 20th century may be unprecedented.

Actually, what the Soviet Union did to the Catholic Church is similar to what the Nazis did to the Catholic Church when they were in power. Whenever the Nazis wanted to make a move against the Catholic Church, they would very carefully prepare public opinion by falsely accusing the Catholic clergy of dastardly deeds like financial corruption, pedophilia and other kinds of sexual misconduct. The immorality trials were so repugnant that they engendered protest from all over the world - reports from the New York Times ( May 1936 ) where it was reported how priests were being called to administer the last sacraments in hotel rooms, but on arrival would be confronted by a prostitute. Photos would then be taken and produced in court to back up trumped-up charges of immorality..
Details of this strategy are to be found in a book secretly published anonymously in Nazi Germany and smuggled out of the country. The title is PERSECUTION OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IN THE THIRD REICH:Facts and Documents Translated from the German.

The book has been republished and is available at Amazon. The book I originally read was from my city library and was published between 1939 and 1941.

Evidence of the aforementioned Communist infiltration is to be found in Herbert Romerstein's VENONA SECRETS, the Mitrokhin Archives and in the testimony of the late Italian American ex-communist Bella Dodd.

Infiltration of the Catholic Church?

Dr. Alice von Hildebrand was an eminent Catholic Theologian and personal friend of Dr. Bella V. Dodd after she left the Communist Party and converted to the Catholic Church with the help of the late Venerable Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen.
Bella Dodd's credibility has been verified, not only by what she predicted in 1950 was going to happen to the Roman Catholic Church - which predictions are totally accurate and have been fulfilled, but also by what are called The Venona Secrets - Exposing Soviet Espionage and America’s Traitors.
The primary source for The Venona Secrets - Exposing Soviet Espionage and America’s Traitors was obtained directly from the official Communist Party archives in Moscow, Russia. Among other things, these archives confirmed the existence of operation “Outstretched Hand” which included the infiltration of Communists into Roman Catholic Seminaries - something which Bella Dodd herself had done on orders from Moscow by sending over 1,200 Communist Infiltrators into Roman Catholic Seminaries in the 1920's and the 1930's, according to her own sworn testimony.
Because of the many things which Bella Dodd reportedly told her mutual friend, Dr. Alice von Hildebrand, about the infiltration of Communists into Roman Catholic Seminaries, Dr. Alice von Hildebrand, is much more qualified, than are most of us to speak on the subject concerning the modus operandi of Communist Infiltrators into the Roman Catholic Church - including those Infiltrators who were eventually ordained priests, with even some of these priests later becoming bishops and even cardinals! Some of these "Judas goats" may even still be in play at present.

So you see, you really don't need to convince me that Communism is dead in the Vatican or in the Roman Catholic church. But I do not intend to turn tail and run. With the help of God's grace, I intend to stand and fight. Because when all is said and done, my faith does not depend upon the politics or personal sanctity of those who have been charged with the mission of preaching and teaching it. It depends upon my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who delegated His authority to Peter when He gave Peter the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 16:19

YOUR attempt at obfuscation of the fact that Russia isn't Communist (don't get me wrong, I am NOT pro-Russian in terms of its government) by talking about the plans of the FORMER Soviet Union is as devious as claiming the modern day German government must be National Socialist and throwing up schemes devised at the time of Hitler to try and convince the gullible.

President Putin has rightly pointed out that Pope Francis is “pushing a political ideology instead of running a church”, warning that the RC Pontiff “is not a man of God”, and that,
“Pope Francis is using his platform to push a dangerous far-left political ideology on vulnerable people around the world, people who trust him because of his position”.

“If you look at what he (the Pope) says it’s clear that he is not a man of God. At least not the Christian God. Not the God of the Bible,” Putin said at the Naval Cathedral of St. Nicholas in Kronstadt.

“He dreams of a world government and a global communist system of repression".

“As we have seen before in communist states, this system is not compatible with Christianity.”

President Putin tours the Naval Cathedral of St Nicholas with Patriarch Kirill.
The pope has become increasingly brazen this year in pushing the globalist agenda and far-left talking points upon the masses. Earlier this year he called for a global central bank and financial authority, and more recently he said “Americans need to be ruled by a world government as soon as possible for their own good.”

Pope Francis’s idea that Americans would be better off under a world government doesn’t stop there. The radical leftist pontiff also went on record stating that Europe should become one country under one government.

He is also on record calling for a China-style one child policy for Western nations, as well as telling a congregation in Rome that having a personal relationship with Jesus is “dangerous and harmful.”

While Putin is a practicing Christian, he is not a Roman Catholic, and the pope is not his leader. According to his recent statements, President Putin does not even consider Pope Francis to be Christian.

The Russian president is rarely openly critical of foreign leaders, instead preferring to use diplomacy to win people over to his side. However notorious globalists including George Soros, Jacob Rothschild and Bill Gates have received tongue lashings before, and now Pope Francis has joined their company.

Pope Francis is trying to lay the groundwork for a global communist government, no doubt seeing himself as being in charge.

This article written by Hana Fischer sums Bergoglio's entanglement in pushing forward a Marxist ideology, through the transit of "Liberation Theology", well:

{Hana Fischer was born in and resides in Uruguay. She serves as a writer, researcher, and international affairs columnist in different media outlets. A specialist in philosophy, politics, and economics, she has written several books and received honorable mentions. Follow her @hana_fischer. }

Is Pope Francis Resurrecting the Nefarious Liberation Theology?

Instead of finding inspiration in Pope Francis’s latest pronunciations, Catholics should be worried.

His latest political and economic ideas are a throwback to the 1970s, when Latin America was in full swing with “liberation theology,” a brand of Catholicism inspired by Marxist doctrine.

This school of thought claims that theology must be grounded on more than just philosophy and scripture in order to defend the poor here on Earth, according to Juan Carlos Scannone, an Argentinean priest who greatly influenced the Pope’s thinking.

The different stripes of liberation theology are actually not answering a religious calling, but rather a political one. And, like Marxism, they claim that their proposals are “scientific.” But nothing could be further from the truth, as they despise both historical and scientific facts.

In this field, “liberation” means the destruction of capitalist structures and their replacement with collectivist ones. The free market system is presented as a form of “violence,” even one of the worst manifestations of sin. Destroying capitalism then will rid us of sin and allow the emergence of the “new man,” or so it goes.

In the 1970s, many Latin American Catholics and good-hearted young people wanting to end social injustices, which many blamed on capitalism, took up arms and set out to start a revolution.

It was common to see posters of Jesus with a machine gun in his hand. The message was clear: Christ was a revolutionary and if you want to follow in his footsteps, you must also be a revolutionary. Countless naive students were seduced by this discourse, joining guerrillas and ruining their lives.

Caught in the middle of violence were the common folks, who never chose a side, and never took up arms.

It was one of the most traumatic periods for Latin America. The wounds of the past are gradually healing with much effort, but the Pope’s words threaten to open them again by rehabilitating a failed doctrine that cause so much division in society.

Continued from 1:04 AM

In a speech given during the Third World Meeting of Popular Movements organized by the Vatican, Pope Francis said money rules the world.

How? Through “the whip of fear, inequality, economic, social, cultural and military violence that engenders more and more violence in a downward spiral that never seems to end,” he said, stressing that such a system is “terrorist.”

Demonstrating either rampant simplicity or ignorance, Pope Francis affirmed that “anyone who has too much attachment for material things” should not get into politics. Is money or lust for power the root of all evil?

Neither Adolf Hitler nor Lenin nor the early Soviet Bolsheviks had any attachment to money or material things. However, both regimes created hell on earth for tens of millions of people.

Someone should advise the Pope not to speak on matters outside his competence, if only out of respect for the institution he represents. His words have the potential to undermine the very religion he represents.

Pope Francis further asserted that the world suffers from “moral atrophy” and that capitalism offers “cosmetic implants that are not a true solution.”

In view of the tragic consequences provoked by liberation theology in Latin America, Pope John Paul II asked Church scholars for advice on whether it fit within the teachings of Jesus Christ.

At that time, it was Cardinal Ratzinger, then head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and later Pope Benedict XVI, who analyzed liberation theology. He strongly advised against it.

Ratzinger warned of the “serious ideological deviations that inevitably lead to betrayal of the cause of the poor … the class struggle as a road to classless society is a myth that prevents reforms and aggravates misery and injustice.”

He also condemned liberation theology’s “new interpretation, which comes to corrupt what was true of the generous initial commitment to the poor.”

The Gospel tells us that Jesus expelled the merchants from the temple. Many take that passage as a reproach of money. However, properly understood, what was indignant to Christ was that the essence of religion, denoted by these words, be denatured: “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.”

Perhaps in our day, Jesus would throw out more than one “merchant” from the temple.

Hi Craig,

Thanks for your 9:18 PM post re: the EU's attempt to grab control of the Internet ... and SHUT DOWN the smaller news providers via independent sites such as this one. I was not aware of this, but I am not at all surprised.

The EU is part and parcel of the One World Government. In order to accomplish their enslavement of otherwise free people, they need to shut down access to the truth that aids in exposing their despotic schemes. The Internet remains their major obstacle ... witness BREXIT (along with other populist movements), Trump's election, etc. ... all can be attributed, in large part, to Internet based information that was withheld by the main stream media.

I'm a pessimist when it comes to the future of the Internet. I can't see how the powers that run this world will allow it to continue as a freedom based means of information. The One World Government is based upon lies that will result in total enslavement, and the deaths of untold millions of innocent "undesirables" i.e. "deplorables." Therefore, the light of truth must be extinguished.

When you see the New World Order types all in unison attack a person or country, you just might want to pause and ask yourself the question ... WHY IS THAT? Maybe, just maybe, he is really standing for national sovereignty and really is an obstacle to the forming of the despotic One World Government.

For Marko and Susanna ...

No credible person ever made the claim that all "Communism is dead in Russia." What we do know is that the Russian people have certainly gained more freedom since the collapse ... religiously, economically and socially. Putin is certainly not perfect, but to put him in the same category as the former USSR dictators is completely irresponsible.

One thing we do know is that Cuba is a thoroughly Communist totalitarian state that continues to persecute, imprison, torture and murder political dissidents by the thousands. True? YES!

Yet, when the "holy" father (small caps on purpose) visited COMMUNIST CUBA, not a single word came out of the pope's mouth regarding COMMUNISM, nor a word about political prisoners ... not a single word. He also NEVER once mentioned the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. In fact, during his entire regional, lengthy visit, the only time he used the name of Christ was in New York when he infamously made his blasphemous claim about "Christ's FAILURE of the cross," a claim that he repeated again later on at the Vatican.

Hopefully I can get the time to respond fully to your suggestion that Putin (a) is a Christian, and (b) is in no way like previous Soviet dictators.

Short answers of course are: He is NOT a Christian, and is just posturing as such; and he is very much like previous Soviet leaders in the ways that matter (he is deceptive and lying, telling Western "itching ears" what they want to hear, to advance a strategy that is beneficial to Russia).

A starting point for this discussion is to recognize that at the time of Gorbachev, in the late 80s, the Soviet leaders themselves were openly stating how they were removing from Western minds the idea that the Soviet Union was an enemy worth worrying about - that this was their "secret weapon", to quote from Arbatov - and that they were being successful in throwing the right-wing, pro-military strategists in the West into disarray, by removing the concept of an "enemy of the West" from the thinking process of those who formed and enacted foreign policy.

Susanna, RayB, etc.

Found a thread about Putin and Moscow and the Russian Orthodox Church (which was, and still is, an organ of the Russian security services, ie, KGB), and some talk of "Moscow as the 3rd Rome". This all ties together in the idea that Russia (and consequently, it's leaders, especially Putin) thinks of itself in "Messianic" terms. Here's the thread from the Wayback Machine, and most of the links still work. Very good research material; please take advantage of the prior work of others and read as much of it as you can.

In short, Russia got religion alright, but it ain't Christianity. It's some form of Eurasianism, Duginism, and Social Justice wrapped together (and that's an incomplete description - there are other threads woven in there too), which paints America and the West as decadent and deserving of destruction. That wouldn't be entirely incorrect, but destruction on the level that the Russians are talking about (nuclear annihilation?) is reserved for God alone. What should be concerning to us in the West is that Russia already has a lot of weapons of mass destruction, which, when combined with an ideology of exacting God's judgment upon the "evil" nations, makes them potentially more dangerous than, say, Iran, or Pakistan, or Cuba, given the same arsenal.

Marko said...

Another interesting article about Putin:

The summation at the end raises some interesting thoughts (my bolding):

Whether or not you believe Putin is sincere, the end result is the same. He has successfully harnessed the motivations of the vast Russian populace who are believers. He is using this newfound moral authority to expand Russian influence around the world. The West is struggling to find a way to contain this religious imperialism. Obama keeps talking about consequences for Russia. I wonder if Putin is laughing as he picks up the icon of the Archangel Michael for his next military campaign. Onward Christian soldiers.

Protestants and other non-Orthodox faiths continue to face a crackdown on their practice as a result of anti-evangelism laws proposed by lawmaker Irina Yarovaya AND PASSED BY PUTIN in 2016. The restrictions LIMIT RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES AND PROSELYTIZATION that occurs anywhere outside church buildings registered with the government.

Evangelicals have been directly impacted by these measures, as well as other efforts that appear to target those outside of the Russian Orthodox church.

Just this week, media reported that the Church of Evangelical Christians of the Gospel House in Chelyabinsk—a Pentecostal congregation located in central Russia, north of Kazakhstan—was fined for “illegal missionary work” since the full name of the church was not posted on the rented room where they met. When Gospel House opted to pray in a different location, the court also forbid the move “because of violations of the norms of anti-terrorist security.”

“Christian Protestants—Baptists, Pentecostals, and Seventh-day Adventists—also regularly face harassment in the press and pressure from the Russian bureaucratic machine,” the US Commission for International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) wrote in a report released in January...

“They have difficulties in obtaining land plots for their liturgical buildings; they are visited with inspections, and so on.”

The land and space issue has become particularly costly, as government officials are increasingly fining churches that meet in private homes or buildings for violating property use laws, Forum 18 reported.

The number of such fines levied against religious groups more than tripled in 2017, up to 23 incidents.

Around 90 percent of Protestant places of worship occur on property designated for residential use, estimated Adventist lawyer Vasily Nichik, since laws restrict the ability of churches to lease or buy land for themselves.

I NEVER made the claim that Putin is, or is not for that matter, a "Christian."
Apparently you have me mixed up with someone else.

Now that you brought this subject up, I will say that I don't know what the man's personal spiritual status is with God, and I think I can be confident in saying that you don't either, unless of course you have some definitive insight into the inside of Putin's heart.

Also, while some elements of the Russian Orthodox Church no doubt cooperated with the KGB, etc. would not come as any surprise. What does comes as a surprise is that you are seemingly putting the entire Russian Orthodox Church under the umbrella of the security services and the KGB. In order to be credible when making such claims, you should have DEFINITIVE proof, not here say evidence, in which to substantiate your accusations.

As far as the "west being decadent," who could seriously argue that it isn't? In the USA alone, infanticide, sanctioned by our government, is being practiced whereby 60 Million + babies have been murdered inside their "mother's" womb. We now have legalized same sex marriages. People seriously argue for the freedom for grown men, who imagine themselves to be ladies, use rest rooms where little girls are. Wanton violence is rampant. What appears on TV today would have been labeled X Rated just a generation ago. etc.

Do you honestly think that the west is not decadent?

Marko said...

Yep, sorry Ray. I was confusing you with anon 12:31AM's statements, contrasting the Pope and Putin, strongly suggesting that the former is not a Christian, and the latter is.

And yes, I believe the West is decadent, but because such a belief plays into the hands of our enemies who would destroy us to the last man, woman and child, in some man-centered metering out of justice in the name of "Christianity", I temper that belief.

It's silly to compare numbers, because sin is sin, but the total dead from Communism still outnumbers abortion deaths. They are both evil. Both disdain life. And Putin is the leader of a nation that has as its official policy the destruction of the West. As bad as we are, it's my belief that if we were to be destroyed, the world would become MUCH worse. I guess that's why I might seem to be giving us a pass.

My disagreements are more with anon 12:31AM I guess, who suggests that there is no continuity of purpose or strategy from the Soviet Union to the present regime. I strongly disagree with that statement. One BIG difference between Nazi Germany and the present Germany is that unlike Nazism and the Nazi officers, which had their Nuremberg Trials, Communism and the Communists in power were never tried in court. In fact, many of the Communists stayed in power after the Soviet Union was dissolved.

Interestingly, Vladimir Bukovsky has written a book bemoaning this fact, called "Judgment in Moscow", which is only now being translated into English. It was published 25 years ago.

From an interview conducted earlier this year, between Bukovsky and Leon Weinstein of Chicago-based NVC radio:

Leon Weinstein: Tell me this. So the cold war finished, the Soviet Union collapsed. But was it really all over? Because today I have an impression that we have moved past the cold war phase and we are now entering something else. And who won from the collapse of the USSR?

Vladimir Bukovsky: These are exactly the questions I am asking in Judgment in Moscow which was written 25 years ago. Is the cold war over? And if so, who won? Show me. Explain it to me. Because I don’t understand. I don’t see it being over. I don’t think it is over. It is not over for as long as we are failing to put communism on trial in Moscow. And this is the message of the book Judgment in Moscow.

Leon Weinstein: In the liberal “progressive” — as they like to call themselves — circles of the United States and Europe, there is an established opinion that Moscow supports the right wing. Or “fascists”, as they call them, which means nationalists and the like. But I nevertheless have a feeling that they are leftwing-oriented. What do you think of this?

Vladimir Bukovsky: Well, yes. This is an old game invented by the Communist International (Comintern), a so-called dichotomy. They invented this game in the 1930s and it goes like this: If you are for Stalin, then you are against Hitler; and if you are for Hitler, then you are against Stalin. And they used this game to brainwash the world’s population until very recently. And even now not everyone understands that this is a game, you see? And the game continues: Either you are for the “sodomites”, or you are for Putin. And if you are against Putin, then you are for the “sodomites”. [Laughs]. And so forth. This is a marvelous dichotomy where one can’t lose. And as for anything beyond that, “tertium non datur” (“no third possibility is given”), as ancient Romans used to say. A third option does not fit into people’s brains.

I wonder if Susanna, Constance or Marko still think the so-called pope is "infallible" in such proclamations?

Of course, they won't admit anything. Too blinded and drunk on the wine of the harlot to be honest it was on matters of faith, i.e., ex-cathedra, and to blind drunk with dead religion to admit such nonsense about the pope being infallible in such matters is just that, nonsense!

The tongue of a mere person only speaks infallible words when the Holy Spirit speaks through him or her, and Francis AKA Bergoglio certainly did not speak words of the Holy Spirit when he wrongly and blasphemously asserted " Christ's failure at the Cross"!

I have a message to ABC and all those calling for terminating this fun program over a political statement made by an actress:

Frankly, I'm tempted to boycott ABC and those advertising on it. I'm hoping they will reconsider and keep broadcasting the program.

Mega "church" fraudster Joel Olsteen fleeces his flock to the tune of $90 MILLION per year!

The prosperity false "gospel" is really quite simple to understand. The preacher makes his pitch that appeals to the GREED of fallen mankind by promising prosperity provided a certain set of rules are followed (based on "faith" of course) along with sacrificial giving to the ministry whereby God will bless them far beyond their gift. If they don't receive their promised "blessing," the cause is that their "faith" isn't strong enough, or, they have some sin they haven't repented of, etc.

The prosperity gospel is completely false because they are presenting a false Christ. Their watered down false "christ" has much more in common with a magic genie than that of the Lord Jesus Christ as found in the Scriptures.

All false religions have two things typically in common; authoritative power over their people, either by the cult of personality or by a religious system that is coupled with schemes that are used to separate money from the flock. The power is derived from the false perception that the personality or system is the only means by which to achieve happiness in this life and ultimately make it to heaven. The money represents "sacrifice" that the flock feels is "pleasing to God." The problem is that God does not honor SELF SERVING sacrifice, but rather, contrite, faithful obedience, by grace, to His Truth as revealed in His Word.

Christ came not only to be THE only sacrifice for the sins of His people, but also to set them free from oppressive religious charlatans such as those that He dealt with when He was on earth. Jesus offered peace and reconciliation with God, the Pharisees offered oppressive, enslaved obedience to them, precisely why they were always conspiring to kill Him.

This is why false religions hate the Bible so much, because they know their power over their people will be destroyed by the liberating light of God's Word.

As more and more sacred cows pop up in our landscape, we realize more and more that there's a new "religion" afoot for which these cows are meant. Some of them are for sacrifice on the altar of political correctness.

Roseanne and 'Roseanne' might never be seen again

While many entertainment industry professionals publicly applauded ABC's decision to cancel Roseanne, the fallout over Barr's insensitive comments spread throughout the world of TV. Not only will ABC no longer produce new episodes of Roseanne...but the network also canceled a Roseanne rerun scheduled to air that very night. (An episode of The Middle ran in its place.)

The huge library of Roseanne episodes available on other media platforms also disappeared in an instant. Viacom, which distributed the original Roseanne, pulled the show from CMT, TV Land, and the Paramount Network. Hulu followed suit, removing the series from its huge programming bank. Laff also dropped the show immediately, replacing set-to-air Roseanne episodes with reruns of Night Court.

As for Roseanne Barr, she's become a Tinseltown pariah.

A quote from Pope Francis:

“We expect that God, in his omnipotence, will defeat injustice, evil, sin and suffering with a triumphant divine victory. Instead, God shows us a humble victory that in human terms seems to be a failure. And we can say this: God wins in failure. Indeed, the Son of God on the Cross appears to be a defeated man. He suffers, He is betrayed, He is vilified, and finally dies. But Jesus allows evil to set upon Him, He takes it all upon Him in order to vanquish it. His Passion is not incidental; his death — that death — was ‘foretold.’ It is an unsettling mystery, but we know the secret of this mystery, of this extraordinary humility: ‘God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son.’”

-- General audience on Holy Wednesday, April 16, 2014

18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to naught things that are:

29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.

30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord
I Corinthians 1;18-31

As a late luminary said, anyone with half a brain and a little purity of heart could understand what the Pope meant and see that it is absolutely in line with Christianity.

The quote from Pope Francis at St. Patrick's Cathedral that has the outrage mongers in an uproar:

In his Sept. 24 vespers homily at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, in which he was addressing a group of priests and religious, Pope Francis said:

We can get caught up measuring the value of our apostolic works by the standards of efficiency, good management and outward success which govern the business world.

Not that these things are unimportant!

We have been entrusted with a great responsibility, and God’s people rightly expect accountability from us.

But the true worth of our apostolate is measured by the value it has in God’s eyes.

To see and evaluate things from God’s perspective calls for constant conversion in the first days and years of our vocation and, need I say, it calls for great humility.

The cross shows us a different way of measuring success.

Ours is to plant the seeds: God sees to the fruits of our labors.

And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and produce no fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus… and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, in the failure of the cross.

The moral of the story being that we must ALWAYS strive to be FAIR in seeing that things are NOT taken out of context before "running" with them.

When "pope" Francis first uttered his infamous statement in New York regarding Christ's "failure of the cross," "humanly speaking," many Catholics immediately came to his defense in an attempt to clarify what he meant.

Several months later, back in the Vatican, "pope" Francis further explained what he meant ... this time calling the cross, via the Rosary as a "history" of "God's failure."

Here is the statement:

“When you don’t understand something, when desperation hits you then look at the cross. That is the great failure of God, that is the destruction of God, and it’s a challenge to our faith. And this is hope, because history did not end in that failure. Rather it’s in the resurrection of Christ that renewed all of us. I am going to tell you something personal. It’s 12 (o’clock) are you hungry? I am going to tell you something private. In my pocket I always carry two thing: a rosary to pray something which seems odd, this is here is the history of God’s failure, it’s the way of the cross, a small way of the cross, as Jesus suffered and when they condemned him right up to where he was buried with these two things I do the best I can. And thanks to these two things, I never lose hope.”

RayB said...

RE: above post.

This is paramount. God FAILS AT NOTHING! As the sovereign God of this entire universe, it is not even possible for His purposes to fail. If it were, He could not possibly be God! The "pope's" comments are completely false and blasphemous. With his statements, he is attempting to diminish God by defining Him and His purposes in HUMAN terms. This is a completely un-Biblical position ... but not at all surprising. Most of what this man declares has no correlation whatsoever with Bible Truth.

Keep this in mind ... it is all by design ... but for what purpose? Are they positioning themselves advantageously with the One World Government? Any thoughts?

Constance - MY sensationalist posts? you said a video claimed a video existed of sexual abuse and murder of a child by Hillary and Huma, and questioned its credibiity and source. FRANKLY I WAS NOT THE LEAST SURPRISED AND HAVE BEEN EXPECTING SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO SURFACE. I posted a link saying it was found on Wiener's laptop in the file marked life insurance. the additional link I commented on, is about the kind of perverted art that social and political elites are KNOWN (some of them) to have, and some of the VILEST AND MOST EXPLICITLY PEDOPHILIC WERE IN JOHN PODESTA'S HOUSE, from another source not in front of me at the time. THE ISSUE IS CREDIBILITY, I can't prove the video is real, but I CAN show it is HIGHLY LIKELY because of the larger context. I have no difficulty believing it, I take it for grante dsomething like this happened involving those people. you are too busy to catch everything out there, I am not. though I miss a lot partly because I can't stomach more than a brief visit to some issues.

years ago, someone posted that I was apparently hitting some raw nerve, something someone didn't want noticed, and I should keep it up.

Moscow as Third Rome isn't a recent invention, it goes back to the just after the fall of Constantinople.

other stuff: "It is clearly wrong, Biblically speaking, to state as you have done that to be "shacked up" with someone to whom you are not married is okay as long as you're in it for the long run. " Being "shacked up" IS marriage biblically. A public claiming of each other. That's all the wedding was, a public announcement these were going to be sexually and geographically together from then on to the exclusion of others. and a blessing. "Mariage" is just legally licensed and recorded shacking up for the long run.

A Christian online wrote you tell someone you love her (or him) and will always be true, etc. etc. you have taken a vow, and it is in God's sight as are all the things we do, and had sex you are married. I suspect some of you are guilty of adultery by abandoning someone to legally marry another, = divorce and remarriage in effect. Or broke up a couple instead of getting them legalized as soon as possible to keep ratbags like you off their relationship. Don't dump the present partner, make the best of it, David didn't dump Bathsheba though ill acquired, she became Solomon's mother. And Jesus didn't say the Mosaic exemption was terminated but that you can't count yourself pure if you use it. Of course, temporary intent makes it dicey same deal with legal marriage with easy divorce depended on as option. thanks for the link.

"chrysalis of repentance" interesting new agey turn of phrase

POPE FRANCIS' REMARKS EVEN IN CONTEXT SHOW A PROBLEM: all very well to qualify it with "humanly speaking," but the crucifixion of Jesus the one and only Person qualified to do this, being the one and only case of God Incarnate, was not itself a failure, it was part of the PLAN!

RayB and others, re: the Pope's "failure" comment...

You just don't get it. I can't make you get it, that's up the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth. But I'll try to explain it from my viewpoint.

You must take the Pope's quote from Susanna as part of the context of the statement you quoted. That quote ended with:

And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and produce no fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus… and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, in the failure of the cross.

When the Pope speaks of the failure of the cross, he is referring to how MAN views it - "Here's this guy who claimed to be God, and yet he let himself be killed by Roman soldiers? What a laugh! Haha.... he couldn't be serious! What a failure!"

I don't understand how you don't understand that is what the Pope is saying. It matches EXACTLY what the scripture says (which Susanna also quoted), that the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing. The cross... is foolishness! I wonder: if the Pope had used the word foolishness instead of failure, would you also be just as harsh in your criticisms?

"Well why doesn't he speak plainly then, and not in riddles?" Might as well ask the same of Christ, who also spoke in riddles (parables) that not many understood at the time.

And just to remind everyone of my viewpoint, I'm not Catholic, I'm Protestant. Evangelical Protestant.

There are other things he has said that are worthy of our concern, but on this point, in my opinion, you missed the boat.

Prisoner PREVENTED from RELIGIOUS ACTIVITY because it's not 'mandatory'

A U.S. court has opened the door to restrictions on religious practices that are not considered “mandatory” by the faith.

That’s the concern of the Rutherford Institute, which worked with other faith groups to ask the high court to overturn a lower court’s approval of a prison policy that deprived a Christian inmate of a BIBLE.

Conraad Hoever, held in Florida’s Franklin Correctional Institution, was placed in solitary confinement in 2013 for “disrespecting” a prison guard, and he asked to have a Bible with him.

Hoever, who “believes that he is called to study the Bible daily and that these daily devotionals prevent him from falling from grace,” had asked for one of the three Bibles he already owned.

The prison refused, only to relent and give him a SPANISH-LANGUAGE Bible, which he could not read. Hoever then sued and lost in the courts.

An appeal was submitted to the Supreme Court by groups that work with the three Abrahamic faiths.

John Whitehead, Rutherford’s president, said the case is “about so much more than just one prisoner’s right to read a Bible.”

“It’s about recognizing that in a prison state or police state, which is what we now have, there is no difference between the treatment meted out to a law-abiding citizen and a convicted felon: both are equally suspect and treated as criminals, without any of the special rights and privileges reserved for the governing elite.”

Whitehead’s organization works with a wide range of faith traditions, often representing Christians, and he was joined by the Muslim Advocates and National Council of Jewish Women in the filing.

Now his organization is reporting the high court REFUSED even TO HEAR THE CASE.

The rejection, he said, “paved the way for government officials to restrict religious activities that are not deemed to be ‘mandatory’ religious practices.”

He explained the lower courts had ruled that the prison’s denial of a readable Bible was not a “‘substantial burden’ on the prisoner’s right to exercise his religion because he could not show that reading the Bible daily was a mandatory practice of Christianity.”

“At a time when America’s prison population is growing, laws criminalizing the most mundane activities are on the rise, states have a financial incentive to keep private prisons at capacity, and the courts are inclined to side with law enforcement in matters of security, we would do well to keep in mind that whatever treatment is meted out to ‘the least of these’ in our society is no different from how the rest of us will eventually be treated. In the government’s eyes, we are all prisoners of the American police state,” Whitehead wrote.

Dear Constance 11:03 P.M.,

Henry Sire has established himself as a traditionalist Catholic which means that he is critical of what he believes to be Vatican II "innovations" which he considers to be not in line with the Church's tradition and consistent teaching.

Traditionalists tend to think that they are "more Catholic than the Pope." It is not clear whether or not Sire is a schismatic in terms of his being a member of a Traditionalist sect that is in schism.

Sire's Pseudonym "Marcantonio Colonna" is the name of a Catholic admiral who fought at the Battle of Lepanto which inflicted a major defeat on the fleet of the Ottoman Empire in October 7,1571. Perhaps Sire hoped to inflict a "major defeat" on the papacy by means of his fairly recent book. - paving the way for the seizure of power by certain national bishops conferences. However, Sire's hopes may have been dashed on account of

1. the definitive statement from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith just a couple of days ago prohibiting the ordination of women to the priesthood.

2. the FIRING of 34 bishops in Chile after being misinformed about the sex abuse crisis and subsequent coverup there which reportedly included the destruction of incriminating documents. Yes, people were led to believe that the Chilean bishops "voluntarily" submitted their resignations. NOT SO.

More specifically regarding Sire's pseudonym, if the book to which you are referring is the attack against Pope Francis entitled THE DICTATOR POPE, Sire, who was a member of the Military Order of the Knights of Malta was suspended from the Order of Malta as soon as he revealed his identity just this past March.reportedly, not everything Sire has said in this book is true and for a historian, this is inexcusable if done deliberately. In many quarters, it is called "historical revisionism." Where I come from, it is called "lying."

The following is evidence that Sire is more than a traditionalist Catholic "in name only."

In 2015, Sire published Phoenix from the Ashes: The Making, Unmaking, and Restoration of Catholic Tradition, a highly critical approach to the Second Vatican Council and its effects on the Catholic Church, in which he concludes: "The fact needs to be clearly stated: the Second Vatican Council was a betrayal of the Church's faith. Its consequences cannot be put right until that betrayal has been recognized and reversed."

In 2017, under the pen-name "Marcantonio Colonna", Sire published (initially as a self-publication) a highly-critical approach to the pontificate of Pope Francis entitled The Dictator Pope. Sire revealed his authorship in March 2018,[2] one month before the publication of the revised and updated English edition, resulting in his suspension from the Order of Malta.[3]

Here is a link to the description of the book that got Sire booted out of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.

Susanna said...

In a National Catholic Register video and article having to do with Sire's book DICTATOR POPE Edward Pentin writes:

Henry Sire says he wrote the book The Dictator Pope because he felt it necessary to uncover the “gap” between what he says is the media “facade” of Pope Francis and the “reality as it is known in the Vatican.”

In a March 26 interview with the Register (see video below), Sire says that Francis is essentially a “politician who relies on public relations,” a “maverick pope” who manipulates the media and falls short of acting in a collegial manner with bishops.

Pope Francis doesn’t deal with bishops “in a collegial spirit at all,” the historian says, despite the Holy Father’s often stated wish to make the Church more collegial and decentralized.

“They were treated much more collegially under Benedict XVI. No, as I say, Pope Francis is a dictator,” explains Sire, who is half Spanish and traveled to Buenos Aires to research the book.

Sire has got to be kidding! With few exceptions, the media has been less than kind to Pope Francis - often misrepresenting him, misinterpreting him and on occasion even mistranslating the things he says. Moreover, there is known to be a cabal at the Vatican which has done everything in its power to undermine Pope Francis and his predecessors.

The clue to the suspicion that national bishops conferences may be considering a power grab is Sire's complaint that Pope Francis doesn't deal with bishops "in a collegial spirit at all." This could translate to mean that certain bishops want to change church teaching - especially in regard to sexual morality......and that there is safety in numbers. They should take a look at what happened to the 34 recently fired Chilean bishops who may have thought there was "safety in numbers."

Sire even gives the reason for not writing a more "balanced" book.

The historian also discusses in the interview the influence of Argentina’s former populist leader, Juan Peron, on Jorge Bergoglio, and the significance of the Kolvenbach Report — a 1992 research document the late superior general of the Society of Jesus, Hans Peter Kolvenbach, had made on Jorge Bergoglio to ascertain whether he was suitable to be appointed a bishop.

Asked why he chose not to write a more balanced book on the Pope, Sire says it was “intended to be an alarm call” for a pope he believes has “gone off the rails.”

“When you’re shouting ‘Fire!’ when the house is on fire, you don’t say: ‘Well actually the fire is doing quite good work cooking the chicken in the kitchen,’” he explains......

Susanna said...

The Kolvenbach Report refers to a document which the late Superior General of the Society of Jesus Peter Hans Kolvenbach allegedly wrote to Pope John Paul II when Pope Francis was still Jorge Bergoglio recommending that Jorge Mario Bergoglio not be made bishop of Buenos Aires because he was emotionally unstable and temperamentally unreliable.

What is not mentioned is that when Jorge Bergoglio was still provincial superior of the Jesuits in Argentina, he cracked down heavily on Jesuits who had embraced Liberation Theology. When his term as Jesuit superior had ended, he was "exiled" to a little dirtwater village of Cordoba and given the assignment of teaching little schoolgirls their catechism.

Apparently, he had come to the attention of Pope John Paul II ( perhaps on account of all the people Jorge Bergoglio rescued during the "Dirty Wars" ) who rescued Jorge Bergoglio from oblivion and made him bishop and then Archbishop of Buenos Aires.

The likely reason why Pope John Paul II promoted Jorge Bergoglio anyway in spite of the Kolvenbach Report was because Pope John Paul II believed that liberal Jesuits were unduly prejudiced against Jorge Bergoglio because he had been unsympathetic to Liberation Theology.

Of course, Kolvenbach himself was struggling to recover some credibility for the Jesuit order after the severe intervention of Pope John Paul II and the removal of Father Arrupe and the Arrupists who had run the great Society of Jesus into the ground following the Second Vatican Council. He seems to have thought that badmouthing Jorge Bergoglio might be a good way to get back in good graces. Apparently, he was mistaken.

I am sure the more radically liberal Jesuits were shaking in their shoes when Jorge Bergoglio became Pope Francis, because as Pope, Pope Francis has the authority to suppress the Jesuits. That Pope Francis has done nothing of the sort - even after being falsely accused of abandoning two of his fellow Jesuits to the Peronists during the Dirty Wars - speaks volumes for his patience and forgiving nature.

For an alternative view of Pope Francis which is the polar opposite if THE DICTATOR POPE, I would highly recommend Bergoglio's List: How a Young Francis Defied a Dictatorship and Saved Dozens of Lives by Italian journalist Nello Scavo who originally set out to find dirt on Pope Francis, but happily discovered heroism and virtue on the part of Pope Francis instead.

Moreover, some of the priests whom Bergoglio saved during the "Dirty War" were very well aware that he did not approve of certain aspects of their ministry. But when it came to saving lives, this did not least not to Jorge Bergoglio.

Is amazing to me how this pope is supposedly and constantly misquoted, according to his defenders.

But going by his very own words, (and the actions he takes) from multiple sources, over a period of time now, and with no retractions of the statements he has made, it appears that he really has spoken the controversial statements that I know my own Catholic friends and family are questioning, and not liking what they are understanding, that with that clout and a bullhorn, he is detouring from the traditional Catholic values they were taught.
This pope is a politician above all else, whatever he may posture himself to be.
Jesus most assuredly affected politics of His time while on earth, but was certainly never a politician. The church should have an impact on the world, but should not join it.
This pope is joined at the hip with the globalist agenda.

Constance 11:03 P.M.

Did you know that Cardinal Danneels is pals with Gustavo Gutierrez, one of the founders of Liberation Theology? Danneels was instrumental in preventing a condemnation of Gutierrez and Liberation Theology.

Regarding the previously mentioned subject of "collegiality" in terms of allowing national bishops conferences more independent power, it turns out that Danneels membership in the Sankt Gallen group was precisely for the purpose of "decentralizing the Church" which was not likely to happen under Pope Benedict XVI.

Member of the Group of Sankt Gallen

On January 3, 1999, Danneels became a member of the group of Sankt Gallen. This group of cardinals, bishops and archbishops had been started in 1996 by the bishop of Sankt Gallen, Ivo Fürer. After the Vatican's treatment of the CCEE in 1993, he and a number of European bishops felt they could no longer speak freely and openly about the governance of the church. Its members "believed that what was needed was a thorough reform of governance, a restoration of the balance between the local and universal Churches". In the Sankt-Gallen group they could discuss this, for they observed a few simple rules: "everything could be said, no notes were taken, and discretion was required." These self-imposed rules led to the group calling themselves jocularly "the mafia", as Danneels revealed in a VTM program on 23 September 2015. From 2003 on, a recurrent theme in the group of Sankt Gallen was the preparation of the post-John-Paul II era. They knew that the decentralization of the government of the Church which they considered necessary would not happen if Ratzinger were elected pope. For, as prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Ratzinger had argued that the universal Church was "ontologically prior" to the local one. Many members also knew that Bergoglio favored more stress on episcopal collegiality, for at the 2001 synod of bishops, which Danneels and other members of the group attended, he had in a seemingly evasive but deft answer said that collegiality needed discussion "elsewhere [than in that synod] and with adequate preparation".

Some pundits have claimed that this "mafia" worked to elect cardinal Bergoglio and were opposed to Ratzinger. That is misleading, and, to the extent the claim is that they were against Ratzinger as a person, downright wrong. Had the group of Sankt Gallen been a lobby for Bergoglio, they would certainly have contacted him before the 2003 conclave, which they didn't. Nor could they have lobbied for him before or during the 2013 conclave, for what was left of the group met for the last time in January 2006. What is true is that Danneels continued to argue for collegiality among the world's bishops and that the election of Bergoglio promised to fulfill the aims pursued at Sankt Gallen entire article.....

Danneels has been dubbed by some as "A wolf in shepard's clothing."

Still Controversial: Cardinal Danneels and the Conclave of 2005

German journalist Paul Badde recounts the actions of the Belgian cardinal — whose participation in the recent family synod drew criticism — at the time of Pope Benedict XVI’s election.

A conspiracy to elect Pope Francis? Don't believe it.

Re: I find it extremely odd that you did not back up your serious import statement: "reportedly, not everything Sire has said in this book is true".

….However, when the book told stories that were new to me, I found the evidence thin. Too often the author relies on hearsay evidence, and when he cites other reporters, too often their work is based on hearsay as well. Worse, when he makes his most startling claims, “Colonna” offers no evidence at all. He makes the improbable claim, for example, that then-Cardinal Bergoglio had advance notice about the impending resignation of Pope Benedict XVI, when many of the former Pontiff’s closest advisers were taken by surprise. Later he makes the even more outlandish charge that Pope Francis used the proceeds of the Peter’s Pence collection to subsidize the presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton. Very few readers will be ready to accept these claims without some persuasive evidence. By putting them forward as facts, without supporting them, the author encourages readers to wonder about the book’s other claims.

It is to be noted that Phil Lawler is also a critic of Pope Francis,(who seems to have morphed from being a disciple of Liberation theology to being a clone of Juan Peron. Lawler and has praised Sire's book.

Mr Sire has written half a dozen history books including one on Catholic tradition where he describes the Second Vatican Council as a “betrayal of the Church’s faith” that needs to be “reversed” and backs the traditionalist group, the Society of Saint Pius X.

Released online at the end of last year and published under a pseudonym, “The Dictator Pope” condemns Francis’ actions following the public battle between the Order of Malta – then led by Fra’ Matthew – and the Vatican.

That dispute, which took place from the end of 2016 until early 2017, erupted over the distribution of condoms but became a proxy war between the Pope and opponents of his papacy.

In “The Dictator Pope” Mr Sire describes Fra’ Matthew as an “out-and-out traditionalist, in doctrinal and liturgical terms”. The former Grand Master resigned at the request of the Pope, thereby paving the way for reform.

A spokeswoman emphasised the order disputed Mr Sire’s account of the row and said the Knights’ governing board, the Sovereign Council, had now decided to suspend his membership.

To Susanna:

The Colonna/Sire book is THE DICTATOR POPE. I've had my own deep concerns because of the relationship with Danneels. Danneels once published a book that appeared anti-New Age. Donna Steichen sent a copy many years ago. Danneels was openly hostile to Ratzinger whom I perceived to be anti-New Age for real. Pope Francis' advocacy of the Agenda 21 and other New Age political causes are also factors of my thinking. I found
the Sire/Colonna book on the shelves of a Barnes & Noble bookstore. What Colonna appears to be saying to me is that Francis is artfully making himself all things to all people and saying just enough of what is right that folks will overlook other aspects. Pat Robertson clearly used that technique successfully in the past.

Sire says this was a technique sucessfully employed by the Argentinian strong man, Juan Peron. He alleges that Francis / Bergoglio, as Archbishop of Argentina kept many off balance who thought they were acting with his blessings and support only to have rugs pulled out from under them because he had told opposirtes they also had the support.

I'm stil reading and as usual, I appreciate your thoughtful coontributions to the conversaion.

"What should ABC have done? Reprimanded Roseanne, yes. Distanced themselves from her comment, yes. Perhaps order her, for the length of her contract, to stay off of twitter. ABC could have applied Restorative Justice. Bring Roseanne and Valerie Jarrett into a room, and work out a peaceful solution that satisfied all. But no. Liberals refused to extend to Roseanne Barr the compassion they did not spare Damian Williams and MS 13."

I can imagine that radical pro-homosexuals around the world are having a very bad day. The enormous and influential "gay lobby," including the one that operates inside the RCC & Vatican, with the "pope" as its Supreme Advocate, must be feeling agonizing pain over this USSC ruling.

However, it is a GREAT DAY for Bible trusting Christians and supporters of the Rule of Law via the U. S. Constitution. In a landmark decision, the USSC voted 7-2 to uphold the 1st. Amendment right of the Christian bakers that refused to make a "wedding" cake for two homosexual men. For years, this case went from one Appellate Court to another. The Colorado Supreme Court refused to hear the case. As a result, the Christian bakers were under State mandate to supply the State with progress reports re: sensitivity training, compliance reports, etc., etc. More like a Nazi type "re-education" camp experience along with official harassment by the State. All because the Christian bakers refused to violate their religious convictions re: the anti-God abomination of "gay marriage."

In this decadent age, this ruling stands out as a truly great victory over the Sodomites that seek to impose their will upon ALL of society.

In Ezekiel 16:48-50 God compares Jerusalem to Sodom, saying that Jerusalem was worse:

‘Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen.’

In Amos 4:1-11 God tells the Israelites he had warned them and treated them like Sodom and Gomorrah and yet still they did not repent. And in Zephaniah 2:9 the prophet tells Moab and Ammon, southeast and northeast of the Dead Sea, that they will end up like Sodom and Gomorrah.

Jesus continues the same theme. In Matthew 10:1-15, and Luke 10:1-12, he declares certain cities more damnable than Sodom and Gomorrah, due to their response to Jesus' disciples.

‘And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet as you leave that house or town. Truly, I say to you, it shall be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.’

In Matthew 11:20-24 he prophesies the fate of some cities where he did some of his works (RSV):

‘And you, Caperna-um, will you be exalted to heaven? You shall be brought down to Hades. For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I tell you that it shall be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for you.’

In Luke 17:28-30 Jesus compares his second-coming to the judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah:

‘Likewise as it was in the days of Lot—they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built, but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom fire and sulphur rained from heaven and destroyed them all—so will it be on the day when the Son of man is revealed.’

In 2 Peter 2:4-10 Peter, in his description of the time of the second coming of Jesus, says that God ‘condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly’.

Jude 1:7 records that both Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns ‘gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion’ and ‘serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire’.

So Sodom is intended to be a strong reminder to us and a call to repentance and faith.

But whilst sexual immorality (and specifically homosexuality) WAS UNDOUBTEDLY one manifestation of Sodom’s sin, it was FAR broader than that.

According to Isaiah (Isaiah 1:10-17) Sodom’s sin also included meaningless religious ritual, injustice, neglect of widows and orphans and the shedding of innocent blood. Ezekiel (Ezekiel 16:48-50) mentions arrogance, self-indulgence and neglect of the poor.

P.S. Some interesting further details (from a Judaic perspective):
Separately (this one is a VERY lengthy and scholarly-styled article but it boils down to this all-important paragraph):

"My purpose in writing this article has not been to show that Christianity is opposed to homosexual practices. Much has already been written on this issue, quoting numerous Bible passages that condemn homosexual practices absolutely. See for example an article by Greg Downes. My purpose has been to supplement the argument with the Jewish classical literature, showing that there are DIRE CONSEQUENCES for allowing homosexual practice to become legalised and included in the institution of MARRIAGE."

Amazing New Light Has Been Shed On (God's Word) By Scholarly Research From The HEBREW Original Version Of Matthew’s Gospel!

By William F. Dankenbring

The complete Hebrew text of the gospel of Matthew is still in existence!

Although many may not be aware of it, Matthew originally wrote his gospel in the Hebrew language. The early church fathers attested to this fact in their writings.

Eusebius in his Church History, discussing the canonization of the Scriptures, quoted Origen as follows: “Among the four gospels, which are the only indisputable ones in the Church of God under heaven, I have learned by tradition that the first was written by Matthew, who was once a publican, but afterwards an apostle of Jesus Christ, and it was prepared for the converts from Judaism, and published in the Hebrew language” (Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers, vol. 1, The Church History of Eusebius, book VI, chap.xxv, 4, page 272).

Eusebius himself tells us, “For Matthew, who had at first preached to the Hebrews, when he was about to go to other peoples, committed his Gospel to writing in his native tongue, and thus compensated those whom he was obliged to leave for the loss of his presence” (ibid., book III, chap. XXIV, 6, page 152).

Eusebius quotes Irenaeus also on this matter of Matthew’s gospel. According to Irenaeus, “Matthew published his Gospel among the Hebrews in their own language, while Peter and Paul were preaching and founding the church in Rome” (ibid., book V, chap. VIII, 2, page 222).

Irenaeus, in Against Heresies, made this statement. He declared, as recorded in Ante-Nicene Fathers, “Matthew also issued a written Gospel among the Hebrews in their own dialect, while Peter and Paul were preaching at Rome, and laying the foundations of the Church” (book III, chap.I, 1, vol. 1, page 414).

Eusebius also quotes Papias, (circa 60-130 A.D.), as the earliest church father who related that Matthew wrote his Gospel in Hebrew. He declared: “But concerning Matthew he [Papias] writes as follows: ‘So then Matthew wrote the oracles in the Hebrew language, and every one interpreted them as he was able” (Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers, vol. 1, The Church Hiistory of Eusebius, bk. III, chap.39, 16, page 173).

Matthew’s Hebrew Gospel

But do we have a copy of Matthew’s gospel in the Hebrew language, as it was originally written, according to these ancient sources?

The amazing fact is that the complete Hebrew text of Matthew’s gospel was preserved in the body of a 14th century Jewish polemical treatise entitled Evan Bohar!

The author of the treatise, one by the name of Shem Tov Ben Isaac Ben Shaprut, completed his work in 1385 A.D. and revised it several times afterwards. He utilized nine different Hebrew manuscripts of the preserved Gospel of Matthew to compile his translation.

Ben Shaprut was no Christian. He was a Jewish rabbi who was writing to defend his faith against the encroachments of Christian theologians. To counteract the teachings of Matthew, he used Matthew’s original Hebrew Gospel, and carefully compiled his translation.

The gospel of Matthew, in the Hebrew, has now been translated into English, and is available from Mercer University Press, in Macon, Georgia (ISBN 0-86554-4700). It is titled simply, Hebrew Gospel of Matthew, by George Howard. It is a fascinating book to read, and compare with our modern English versions, translated from the Greek copies of the Gospel. The similarities are most remarkable, as well as the many insights the
Hebrew gives in many textual areas where the Greek seems mystifying. Says George Howard, it is clear from the evidence that the Hebrew Matthew contained in the text of Shem Tov’s Evan Bohan predates the 14th century – in fact, the evidence strongly suggests it goes back to the earliest centuries since Christ!

Ever wonder about odd-seeming NT scriptural references, like why Jesus would have His Title on His THIGH?

"The Explanatory notes at the back of the rendition of the Scriptures put out by the Institute for Scripture Research indicates certain textual criticisms in the Book of the Revelation which indicate that it was also written in Hebrew. Revelation 19:16 reads that Yahshua will return with the words 'KING OF KINGS AND MASTER OF MASTERS,' written across his thigh. That's not right. The word 'thigh' should read 'BANNER,' instead"!

To conclude...

"Scholars also have long recognized that the grammar of the New Testament does not befit good Greek, but does reflect excellent Hebrew grammar."

I've long held to the belief that the New Testament was originally written in Hebrew/Aramaic. I came to this belief after reading the preface to George Lamsa's translation, which you reference above.
Lamsa's translation doesn't change any of the basic doctrine of the faith as we have it, but it does clarify a few things that always seemed odd. For instance he explains that Jesus words "It would be easier to pass a camel through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into heaven" is a mistranslation based on the fact that "gamel" (camel) is the same spelling and pronunciation as the Aramaic word for "rope" (gamel). Thus; "It is easier to pass a rope through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into heaven."
Now that makes sense.
Also, I've often wondered why we english speaking people settled on a Greek rooted word; "Christ", which they used to translate the Hebrew word "Messiah", because the Greeks had a concept of anointing with oil in their culture, when it only gives us a partial meaning of the concept of a Messiah, which was/is a purely Hebrew concept. "Christos" means anointed in Greek, but "Messiach" in Hebrew means anointed, yes, but so much more.
For some reason, (and whatever the reason is, it's not good enough), the entire Christian academic world has insisted through the centuries that the New Testament was originally written in Greek. My understanding is that it's because the Septuagint is the oldest extant copy. That's Acedemia for you. Intellectualism, not God, is the author of confusion.

paul said...

_But just to say that we have the word "messiah" anyway, and we use it! So why do we use a Greek word to express it when neither the Greeks nor any other culture on earth had a Savior, who would come into the world, and who is the son of the only true God?
I'm sure there's a reason for it.
It makes me think of the two men I saw chatting back and forth on smartphone the other day. They were standing about six feet apart and their conversation was being processed by satellites many many miles up in space.

If it works don't fix it?

paul said...

Actually I later came to understand that Mr Lamsa had an ax to grind, inasmuch as he was an outspoken anti Trinitarian.
His English translation of the entire Bible is one of the ones I've read all the way through.
It didn't change my basic doctrine in any way.

Constance Cumbey said...

For the record, Lamsa had clear associations with Unity Church. That should speak for itself. They published some of his books with titles such as THE HIDDEN YEARS OF JESUS. /i/Res ipsa loquitur./i/ "The thing speaks for itself!

"On July 13, 2011, CNN's Anderson Cooper 360° reported an investigative piece into Walid Shoebat's claim to authority based on being a former terrorist. The report found that according to Israeli government officials, the bank that Walid Shoebat claimed to have attacked, and his own relatives, no record of his supposed terrorist history existed. Another of Shoebat's claims, that of a two-week term in an Israeli jail, was also unsubstantiated, with Israel having no record he was ever jailed. His cousin, interviewed in the report, stated that he had never known Shoebat to have ties to any movement, and that his claims of being a former terrorist were "for his own personal reasons". According to CNN, their reporters in the United States, Israel and the Palestinian territories found no evidence to support Shoebat's claims and "neither Shoebat nor his business partner provided any proof of Shoebat's involvement in terrorism".[2]

"Omar Sacirbey's 2010 Washington Post article reports that Ibrahim Hooper, spokesman for the Council on American–Islamic Relations, has questioned Shoebat's motives, saying that "Ergun Caner, Shoebat, and Kamal Saleem—along with others like them—belong to an 'industry' that is often perpetuated by fundamentalist Christians" and that people are doing this "to make money or get converts or to get some personal benefit".[9] The article also reports that skeptics have questioned how Shoebat and others have been able to retain US citizenship if their stories of terrorist activities are true.[9]

"Charitable organization status

"When the Post asked Shoebat whether the Walid Shoebat Foundation is a registered charity, he said that it was registered in Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Attorney General's Charitable Trusts and Organizations Section said it had no record of such a charity. When asked again, Shoebat said it was registered under a different name, but that he was not aware of the Foundation's registered name, nor any other details"

The messages were the same as those on militant Islamist websites or those of Neo-Nazis, yet declared to be true representations of Christian doctrine and “telling it like it is” about the Jews who “killed God.” Some readers even carried on further: The Jews in Israel aren’t real Jews; The Talmud teaches ideas from the Devil; The Church revealed the devil worship of the Jews and on and on. Readers can see all this by visiting the website. I recommend viewing it on the Internet Archive here

Tommy Robinson And The British Press

By Anne-Christine Hoff

Unlike the judge who delivered his 13-month sentence, I watched Tommy Robinson's entire Facebook Live stream on the Muslim grooming gangs trial outside Leeds Crown Court.  It is a little over an hour long and very enlightening.

One of the contentions of the court is that Robinson and his small camera crew are breaking the law by standing in front of the courthouse.  In reality, they aren't on courthouse property at all throughout the video. Robinson and his crew are filming on the street. They even ask the police at one point if they are standing far enough away from the courts not to be breaking the law.

The other thing I learned from the video is that ordinary Brits love Tommy Robinson.  In the hour that Robinson is outside of the court house, multiple people stop to tell him that they appreciate what he's doing. Apart from two non-whites, almost all are scared to be filmed with Robinson, but they want to take pictures with him. They want to stop and chat with him.

Almost all the Muslim accused hurl verbal abuse at Robinson about having had sex with his sister or wife or mother.  Robinson simply asks them if they feel at all guilty, and by their response, it appears that they don't.

The courts also contend that Robinson is disturbing the peace, but the only disturbance I saw throughout the video comes from the accused when they tell Robinson that they have "f----- his mother's fanny," whatever that means.  At one point they even gesture through a courthouse window that they would like to SLIT THE THROATS of Robinson and his camera crew, and they also threaten to KILL a woman on the street.  For unknown reasons, they are PERMITTED to make such threats WITHOUT any repercussions!

Caelan Robertson, the cameraman for Tommy Robinson, was interviewed by InfoWars. He is now legally allowed to talk about the court ruling.  There are many astounding aspects to Robinson's court ruling, but to me, the most disturbing of them all is that the judge ADMITTED that he had not watched Robinson's Facebook livestream video. Robinson was arrested, issued charges, arraigned, and sentenced, all within the span of four hours, while men accused of raping and trafficking girls as young as eleven are afforded the protection of a long, drawn out trial.

WHY was this case rushed through while the Muslim grooming gangs trial has gone on for years? These accused men are allowed to continue to work in restaurants, drive taxis, own businesses, and rape more young English girls. If the cases are not talked about, the families of other young girls WILL NOT KNOW that these men are dangerous and that they live in their area!

WITHOUT Robinson to report on the case, it's IMPOSSIBLE to find out anything about the verdict of that trial!

Anonymous said...

If you run a search on the Muslim grooming gangs in Leeds, you will find only one article from the Yorkshire  Evening Post – from 2014.

WHY are these men who are accused of trafficking, sexual abuse, and rape of English girls being protected by the courts, by the media, and the politicians? Media outlets like the Guardian would like us to believe that it is to protect the girls themselves that we are not supposed to talk about the Muslim grooming gangs trial, but these girls have been BETRAYED at every turn.

I tend to be more in agreement with this point of view. According to my sources, Bergoglio didn't know anything about this alleged conspiracy. It could be that because Cardinal Bergoglio was an "outsider," Danneels and his St. Gallens colleagues may have thought that they could control Cardinal Bergoglio once he became Pope.

By the way, are you aware that Pope John Paul II made a ruling that any vote canvassing for the papacy would be an excommunicable offense? The document is Universi Dominici Gregis promulgated by Pope John Paul II in 1996. In paragraph 81, all forms of vote canvassing which include vote promising were to be punished with automatic excommunication (latae sententiae).

According to Austen Iverleigh (THE GREAT REFORMER), if the group of St. Gallen had been a lobby for Bergoglio, they would certainly have contacted him before the 2013 conclave, which they didn't according to Iverleigh. In all the articles I have read, even if the St. Gallen clique was lobbying for Pope Francis, there is no indication that he was ever aware of it. They could not have lobbied for him before or during the 2013 conclave, for what was left of the group met for the last time in January 2006 according to Iverleigh.

The ONLY section of Universi Dominici Gregis having to do with the nullity of the validity of a papal election is that section (paragraph 78) having to do with simony, and here Pope John Paul II has REMOVED simony as a justification for nullifying the validity of a papal election.

Now I found the following very interesting:

Upon the death of Pope John Paul II in 2005, Danneels was listed as a possible successor (or papabile) although with weakened credentials due to the fact that he was an archbishop of a country where abortion, euthanasia and same-sex unions had recently been legalized and where, under his watch, church attendance and pastoral vocations have dropped to historical lows.

….There are two rather distinct periods in Danneels' career as Cardinal-Archbishop. In its first ten to fifteen years, Danneels' relations with Rome were excellent. He was appointed to a number of pontifical congregations and councils...…

....But his own enthusiasm about the government of the Church by the Vatican waned. He did not approve of the way Pope John Paul II restricted the role of bishops' conferences like CELAM (1992) ( Episcopal Conference of Latin America ) and especially of CCEE (1993) (Council of the Bishops conferences of Europe), in which he played a prominent role until 1993. The bishops' synods were being reduced to rubber stamping the decisions of Rome, and neither the bishops' collegiality nor Vatican centralism could be discussed.

The result of this change was threefold:

•As Rome was perceived to turn to the right, Danneels, who considers himself an "extreme centrist", was more and more perceived as a leftist or a liberal, in spite of himself.

•As Danneels gradually increased the distance between himself and Rome, his popularity at home increased and he became the face of the Catholic Church in Belgium, to the local issues of which he devoted more and more of his time.

•He also devoted more and more of his time to international tasks, which often involved his diplomatic abilities as well as his prestige.

After the 2013 conclave (see below) he again felt at ease in Rome, but by then he had already retired as archbishop.

The following sections discuss his activities and—often controversial—standpoints with regard to various issues more...

Of course, part of the reason why Pope John Paul II restricted the role of bishops' conferences like CELAM and CCEE was because of the emergence of Liberation Theology in Latin America. And as long as the Soviet Union was in power, there was always the danger of a communist takeover in Europe......i.e. the "Finlandization of Europe" with the possible encouragement and even collaboration of certain politicking prelates. This had already happened in some of the Eastern bloc countries.

At present, Danneels is no longer a Cardinal in the Catholic hierarchy. Although he was still eligible to vote in the papal conclave that elevated Jorge Bergoglio to the papacy in 2013 as Pope Francis, his resignation at the age of 75 was accepted by Pope Benedict XVI on 18 January 2010. This would have been three years before Pope Benedict XVI resigned from the papacy effective February 28, 2013. And while Danneels was eligible to vote in the conclave, voting is not the same as lobbying.

At the time of the conclave that elected Jorge Bergoglio as Pope Francis, another member of the Saint Gallens group, Carlo Maria Martini was past the age of 80 years old and no longer eligible to vote in a papal conclave. Ivo Furer who was a founder of the St. Gallens group submitted his resignation on his 75th birthday, and Pope Benedict XVI accepted it on 16 October 2005. Furer would also not been eligible to vote in the papal conclave that elected Pope Francis.

But more importantly for the sake of this discussion is the question of motive. Why would Danneels and his pals from St. Gallens want to be rid of Pope Benedict XVI apart from the usual complaints of neo-modernist leaning prelates in the Catholic church? Very likely, it is about power. Since the Second Vatican Council certain bishops - including Danneels - have been lobbying for greater power for the national bishops conferences. And some would like to exercise this power independently of the Pope.

However, if any of the national bishops conferences were to call an ecumenical council independently of the Pope, they would be in schism. And my duty as a Catholic would be to obey the Pope.

According to Catholic teaching, bishops have no authority independently of the Pope. Whatever authority they have is delegated authority....delegated to them by the Pope......just as the authority the Pope has is, according to Catholic teaching, authority delegated to him by Christ through the Apostolic Succession going all the way back to Peter.

Other things to consider are the following:

Ivo Fürer, one of the founding members of the St. Gallens "mafia," was Bishop of St. Gallen from 1995 until 2005. He was prominently involved, as its President from 1995-2009, with the Swiss Catholic Lenten Fund which has come under strong international criticism for its funding of LGBT activists, as well for its funding of the Swiss Institute for Pastoral Sociology whose president, Dr. Arnd Bünker, is himself an active promoter of the homosexual agenda.

If any of the St. Gallen clique thought that Pope Francis was going to reverse Church teaching on sexual morality, they had better think again. Because despite the way Pope Francis has been portrayed in the uber- liberal news media, his teachings in matters of faith and morals are orthodox and in complete conformity with the traditional teachings of the Catholic Church in matters of faith and morals.

If I am not mistaken, the anti-New Age book by Cardinal Danneels to which you are referring is Christ or Aquarius: Exploring the New Age Movement. You can still get it at Amazon. The book itself may be orthodox, but orthodoxy in one area does not necessarily guarantee orthodoxy everywhere else. Ergo the term "cafeteria Catholics."

For the decades following the Second Vatican Council, Danneels was the leader of the ascending liberal group of European bishops. As the darling of the liberal secular press of Europe, and as archbishop of Mechlin-Brussels, the home of the European Union and the center of much of Europe’s political life, Danneels wielded enormous power in European politics. Indeed, former high-ranking Belgian politicians have just alleged that his political power and his dissent from Catholic moral teaching extended to petitioning Belgium’s King Baudouin to allow that country’s liberalizing abortion law to be passed in 1990.

Cardinal Danneels tried to convince Belgian king to sign bill legalizing abortion: former prime minister

I am sure you can see where this story is going. And if certain bishops were left to their own devices, I don't think there would be a happy ending for the Catholic Church in Europe. As I see it, "decentralizing" church authority might very well create a situation in which the Belgian bishops might become the new Catholic authority in Europe - working side by side with the secular power in Brussels.....for a time....until they outlive their usefulness and were made a dept. of state like the Russian Orthodox Church under Stalin et al.

I don't agree with everything the late Father Malachi Martin had to say, but he was spot on when he said that Marxism (socialism, communism) has two faces; the one it wears before it gets power and the one it wears after it gets power.
