After I published the NewsWithViews article about BASIC, Paul N. Temple, Doug Coe, the Temple of Understanding, etc., the Paul N. Temple article by World Business Academy was promptly removed. A google search failed to yield it even though yesterday it was a top story on google searches for "Paul Temple." Fortunately for all, I archived it and showed Page 1 of Part 2 (Sure wish I had part 1!) on my last Blogspot article. I decided you deserved to read the entire story as it tells the story of the links: Silva Mind Control, Fellowship Foundation, Institute of Noetic Sciences. As such it is vital to an understanding of what Barbara Marx Hubbard said was happening (she chaired their 1987 unity conference): "Now all the resonating core groups with outwardly different purposes are merging and blending and coming together to do the one work." This is also to show them that they aren't quite as smart as they think they are!

Well, that's exactly what happened with so many global governance networks. If you are reading this and you wish to argue it to another, I recommend you promptly document by archiving all links and links to links. It has been my experience over the years that the folks who wish to impose their own brand of global governance on us play this lovely little game of "now you see us, now you don't." Things appear fast on the internet. They disappear with equal speed. Unnoticed, the archives might hang out there for years. Furthermore, Javier Solana is dismayed that those not in support of his agenda "use the global village to full advantage."
When Javier Solana spoke at the Brookings Institution, the webcast and mp3 versions revealed more than his published text. He expressed dismay at freedom of the press and exchange of information. He moaned that it enabled individuals with access to You-Tube and to a camera to change history. The problem is, said Solana on March 21, 2007, that nobody wants to obey. This, said Javier Solana, must change.
In his speech, Solana thanked Carlos Pascual and Strobe Talbott of the Brookings Institution, as well as Steve Steadman "for getting the global governance project off the ground." He should have given thanks to the following organizations as well which seem to be very much in on the party, if not the planning:

Kenneth Grubb and Norman Grubb were brothers. Both played interesting roles in getting globalization efforts afoot earlier in the mid 20 th century. Kenneth Grubb was present at the birth of the World Council of Churches and was a co-founder along with Bilderberg co-founder Denis Healy.

Ironically, it is not just American Christians failing to see the hidden dangers to all this. More often than not, it has been European freedom advocates sounding meaningful alarms. The same players working with the WEU in Europe are part of the Washington based BASIC networks. One important European based clarion call warning of the emerging dangers is a report by Frank Slijper, " The emerging EU Military-Industrial Complex: Arms industry lobbying in Brussels. They warn of "Arming Big Brother." Just as so many American evangelicals seem to notice when they have been betrayed, it appears that many working for New Age environmental causes are equally so. Slijper has written for GreenPeace.
Watching this in context as it now develops, only now am I beginning to understand why there was such an aggressive Evangelical move by some (others supported me) to stop my work against unveiling the New Age Movement back in the early 1980s. From Jeremy Rifkin to Paul Temple, there was large New Age influence together with big money. Washington Fellowship Paul Temple, unlike many others who hide their dual connections, is unashamed of revealing his dual memberships in Evangelical Christian and hard core New Age societies. If this is it, and for personal reasons, I hope I am wrong. I sincerely hope I have read too much into this. Big news week that has left me almost out of breath with the audacity and intensity of the Alliance of Civilizations and its obvious influence on the CNN Cristiane Amanpour report on "God's Warriors." I with to a Grosse Pointe, Michigan group for nearly five hours on Thursday night. They were most startled by the information presented and I believe they will be effective in turn in educating still others. All were provided with copies of my CD Rom presentation, "Javier Solana: Mystery Man of the New World Order."
Judith Reisman will be a soon future guest. She is a fearless warrior against the ugliest forces of pornography and did ground breaking work on pointing out the evils of the Kinsey Report on Human Sexuality that had gained undeserved respect. I am looking forward to her future program which we will probably have to tape because Judith is not available for interviews on Saturdays but is ok with other days.

Write your Congressmen. Tell them your concerns. I am thinking of making Freedom of Information demands to learn more about the activities of this group. I am wondering how many of them joined it in anticipation of being invited to junkets in Europe. One very bright note: I see no Michigan names on this list!

Javier Solana's African prestige and influence appears to be growing
If Herb Peters were still living, I am very sure that our telephones would have mutually rang today and we would have been discussing this EU Business article. Javier Solana's African operations have obviously been very successful, as evidenced by the Sierra Leone elections. You may read it for yourself here. You may also read about it here as since I originally posted the article, the EU source has obviously decided to limit its access!I am equally certain we would have been making comparisons between the content of this article and Daniel 8:9. One of us, maybe both, would have been commenting on the Daniel phraseology "And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land."
At any rate Javier Solana's prestige on the African continent, directly to the south of his EU bailiwick, appears to be growing. Likewise with his Neighbourhood Action Plans, to the East (Caucasus, Balkans, etc.) and clearly "toward the pleasant land," (Israel). Recently, he played a major role at ASEAN and here in the USA, his "global governance" leadership role is solid.

"Responsible corporate citizenship"?
“Corporate Citizenship” OR Occult corporate and religious takeover? 
Let’s use our “McBrains”!
To my readers: This is a "sneak preview" to my blogspot readers of myNewswithViews.com article to be posted Thursday morning. It is the first of two in a series. Both are composed but as NWV has a 2000 word maximum, the article was broken and the next part will appear next week. I will value your feedback!
Funny what makes the brain start ticking and inspires internet surfing! Featured on the TODAY show today was a purported study coming from Harvard no less. It showed that children favored food wrapped in McDonald’s packaging – even carrots. This was, per the earnest woman theoretician and proponent of the study, the results of what needed to be quickly regulated, if not outright banned: corporate advertising that might appeal to children. Well, what about our time honored 1st Amendment to the USA Constitution with its freedom of speech guarantees? Obviously, that must be deferred to “corporate responsibility.” I must confess I have mixed feelings about all of that, but as much as I am skeptical about advertising campaigns, I am much more so about New Age/Cultural Creative/”socially responsible” propaganda Watching the TODAY Show “Harvard University” presentation this morning, I thought I might be starting to smell a very familiar rat. It is a “rat” called “socially responsible investing.” Such is clearly a buzz word phrase for New Age corporate activism. A few weeks ago, I wrote a NewswithViews.com article – one about the “curious triangle” of Maurice Strong, Paul Martin, and Javier Solana. In it, I heavily cited one “Maitreya the Christ” proponent by the name of Gordon Davidson. He is a major player in this scenario as is Paul Hawken.
Gordon Davidson is an Alice Bailey, Lucis Trust activist. He is also a well known evangelizer of those occult principles, propagating them most successfully throughout the environmental and business communities. He is a fellow marcher with Findhorn chronicler Paul Hawken who has taken to bragging that they represent the largest movement in the world – one that nobody saw coming.
I clearly saw it coming. So did others. There was disinformation on a massive scale designed to convince concerned Christians that nothing had happened. Many succumbed and fell back to sleep. Now that the New Agers have had such a splendid opportunity to regroup , given the cover by those self-designated “cult-watchers,” they brag of their size and power with impunity, still if anything understating their true size and scope.
They started under him known as the “Valdez Principles.” They are now known as “the Ceres Principles.”1 Yes, Gordon Davidson is the organizer of what is now proclaimed to be a 4 trillion dollar environmental, corporate, and “socially responsible investing” consortium! I would not be surprised to learn of links between him and Martin Palmer, also an advisor to England’s Prince Philip. Martin Palmer claims to be heading a trillion dollar religious environmental consortium.
Listening to this morning’s Today Show feature (August 8, 2007) featuring an apparently anti-McDonald’s advocate , I heard her suggest creating a legal structure that would end first amendment rights for “corporate entities,” (presumably, people next) under the rubric of “corporate responsibility, I started to suspect that the Valdez principle people with their larger “global governance” agenda lurking nearby. I was hoping I was wrong. It appears I was not. There is a Harvard connection to more than mere worrying about the dietary likes and dislikes of toddlers who think everything tastes better in McDonald’s wrappers. My on line search showed a surprising level of involvement by the Harvard Divinity School with the Gordon Davidson Valdez cum Ceres “corporate responsibility’ reshaping scenario -- especially obvious components of religious marginalizing and attempted reshaping. All of this is also very much like the work Jeremy Rifkin started in the 1970s and is still continuing to this day – Rifkin’s THE EMERGING ORDER: GOD IN AN AGE OF SCARCITY and his called for “paradigm shift” is still very obviously at play.
Such strange fruits and coming from the Harvard Divinity School at that! Jesus said to his disciples, “fear not, you are of more worth than many sparrows. “ Here’s the latest contradiction to that from the Harvard Divinity School:
In biological terms humans provide no essential functions for the survival of other large communities of life-forms -- save, perhaps, for our own domesticated animals, plants and parasites. If we disappear it is probable that wheat, rice, cattle, camels and the common cold virus will not survive in their current forms for very long. But the vast majority of the earth's organisms can do perfectly well, indeed perhaps thrive even better, without us or our biological associates.
“We continue to strut and prance about with a sense of supreme self-importance as if all creation were put in place for our benefit. As the zoologist David Ehrenfeld has observed, in spite of what science has revealed about our place in the universe "we still believe that the force of gravity exists in order to make it easier for us to sit down”
Well, what is the gospel according to Harvard, about this alleged dysfunctional mindset? Three guesses and the first two don’t count! It is our religion which needs reforming! Quoting from their website, we read:
“From where does such arrogance come? How can our beliefs be so far out of touch with our knowledge? How can we maintain such an inflated sense of personal, collective and species self-importance?
The answer, in part, is that Western religious traditions have generated and sustained this petty arrogance. A culture's religious beliefs are constructed from what that group has come to believe in religiously. Ever since the advent of cereal agriculture and with increasing intensity since the emergence of humanist thought stemming from the European Renaissance, Western cultures have come to believe religiously in their own power, importance and capacity to dominate and control nature.”
While attacking orthodox religious beliefs, the Harvard Divinity School and its “ecoethics” center advocates simultaneously employ a euphemism called “corporate responsibility.” While unashamedly promoting Gordon Davidson’s Valdez principles and even beyond, they make a simultaneous equally unashamed frontal assault on both ancient Judaic and Christian beliefs:
Some religious groups have transcribed and elaborated creation myths which serve to ennoble and authorize this illusion of domination. In these myths a supreme and omnipotent God figure (usually portrayed as male) is said to have created humankind and enjoined this species to be "fruitful and multiply" and "subdue" the earth. Moreover, it is often a feature of these traditions that selected human groups come to feel entitled, empowered or specially ordained by such a God to be his "chosen people." Through their actions and history, it is believed, this God allegedly manifested his intent for the planet as a whole. In short, human groups created God in their own image and generated divine narratives that accorded themselves privileged status in the whole of creation.
Were they using Gordon Davidson’s beloved Alice Bailey books to reach these conclusions, if not to actually draft the verbiage? The Harvard Divinity School reference to “chosen people,” is clearly a not so subtle reference to the Jewish people. It is very close to what Alice Bailey wrote about the Jews in several of her Lucis Press (the former Lucifer Publishing Company) The creation myth reference is an insult to all monotheistic believers.
You be the judge! Maybe they just plain didn’t know of Gordon Davidson’s more esoteric side. If not, they are free to take a peek at his “non-denominational” website, as I just did. Well, with campus attitudes like this, is it any wonder that the Harvard Medical school’s Public Relations Director had no problem seeking and taking a microchip implant? Looks to me like all our problems aren’t just Stanford University and New York University’s inputs on “global governance.” Either deliberately or inadvertently, Harvard is doing its fair share to attempt a pseudo-intellectual reshaping of the American religious climate. Suddenly, the huge family expense of seeking and receiving a Harvard degree for one of its members is of much less value than we thought before. Hopefully, their law school and political science departments make up for the common sense deficiencies at the medical and divinity schools, but I wouldn’t want to take it to the bank!
The scriptures proclaim that “God sits in the heaven and laugh . . . he shall have them in derision.” He must be howling at such effete snobbery combined with Harvard’s Divinity School pseudo-academics!

And lastly, more about the Valdez Principle organization, “CERES.” Ceres is an interesting choice of names. It literally means “forceful cultivation.” Ceres was organized by New Age activist Gordon Davidson. It claims to be the largest coalition of investors, environmental activists, and public interest groups in North America. Its recently appointed president, Wendy Lubbers, is a former advisor to President Bill Clinton. It is a significant bridge between New Age environmentalists and corporate moneys and influence. It has significant links with at least Harvard University and Yale University.
Interestingly, perhaps coincidentally, perhaps not, “CERES” is also the acronym for The Centre for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies (CERES) at the University of Toronto. Perhaps our good friends at the Canada Free Press may know more about this one. I will be writing more about CERES – three significant Ceres’ networks, in my next article here as well as on my own blogspot.
Clearly there is more to worry about than children liking carrots better if in McDonald’s packaging. Let’s worry about what is packaged and sold to us as adults even more susceptible to propaganda than small children!

Co-author Steven Everts thereafter not surprisingly left the CER to take a position on Javier Solana’s cabinet. Charles Grant stayed behind, also to the benefit of Javier Solana. The CER ideas were instrumental in shaping notions that would be incorporated in shaping Javier Solana’s to be all powerful Foreign Minister post in the failed European Constitutional drive.
Now his compatriot Charles Grant and company are working hard to shame Great Britain into accepting the deals made on the new “Treaty” cum constitution in drag. This is what Grant says are the main features of “the Treaty”:
When there was obviously popular rejection by the peoples of the affected countries themselves to this acknowledged “democratic deficit” power grab, new scheming began. That culminated in the recent treaty meetings and there seems to be an obvious “the people be damned” approach to it. British elements are trying frantically to force a referendum. Eurocrats and global elitists are frantically trying to stop one from happening.
Obviously, what is being framed here is much larger than simply Europe. Why else would a USA based group hand $10,000 for a simply worded essay that suggests handing one man, Javier Solana, such unilateral power and control?
In my 26 years of researching the New Age Movement and 12 years of researching Dr. Javier Solana and his roles in Middle East processes, NATO, the European Union, and now “global governance,” I have learned that those advocating all of the above play a lovely little game of “now you see us, now you don’t.”
Charles Grant, the obvious Javier Solana partisan who stayed behind at the CER think tank while his writing partner, Steve Everts went on to be a part of Dr. Solana’s EU cabinet emphatically insists that Britain does not need a referendum. [1]
Impugning noble intent to this Brussels power grab, Charles Grant prefaces the report by saying:
The English based CER has plenty of praises for Germany’s Angela Merkel and her Foreign Minister, Frank-Walter Steinmeier for expediting the process. At the same time, they appear unduly anxious to hand inordinate powers to one man in what appears to be one of the greatest “trust me” games in history.
My mother told me never to trust somebody who says “trust me.” I would never say never, but I would definitely say that when one is very anxious that you forego a referendum, I would personally double my caution.
What are the terms of this “treaty” that the CER is so anxious for the British to uncritically accept, sans referendum? Why are some on the USA side of the “Atlantic pond” so anxious to hand one man in charge so much power, money, and staff?
Fortunately, some of our British cousins appear to be waking up. According to EU Referendum, a spot I permanently link to from my personal blogspot, at least one member of the House of Lords has called a spade a spade:
Of course, the CER has attempted, as is usually the practice when one observes New World Order items in implementation before pronouncing them “a done deal” to characterize the objectors as humorless. An article on their blogspot alluded to just that, “of mice, men, and European Reform” by Hugo Brady. Much more fascinating were the critical comments more discerning readers placed under the pro-Treaty blog:
Well, as a famous wit once said, “A rose by any other name is still a rose.” And I might add that “a skunk by any other name is still a skunk.” And tyranny by any other polite moniker such as “democratic deficit” is still tyranny.
I don’t want to tell my British cousins what to do, but if I were them, I would stick to my guns and demand that referendum. They have nothing to lose but their national identities and their freedoms! And ditto here in the USA where we have the not so subtle pushes for “global governance,” also under the “benevolent” guidance of Dr. Solana aided by the Brookings Institution, Stanford University, New York University, and with the apparent blessings of even our USA State Department.
I often tell my law practice clients, “there are two things one should never rush into: one is marriage and the other is divorce.” I think on a national and global scale, we should be very cautious about rushing into a union we may well live to regret. If the prophesied revelations are true, and given the present objective evidence, I cannot help but believe they are, truly union with this global governance scheme will be ultimately and tragically regretted by many.
May the Lord help us all and may the Lord now especially give wisdom and discernment especially to the more immediately affected Europeans as they face this ultimate insult to their long held identities, all presumably in the name of “peace and safety.”

On a random internet search, looking frankly for something else I never found, I just discovered an off the road lovely little blogspot maintained by one of Javier Solana’s most obvious London based thinktanks: The Centre for European Reform. A few years ago, Herb Peters and I laughed on live radio air at a $10,000 award two of its foremost analysts, Charles Grant and Steve Everts received from the prestigious New York City based Foreign Policy Association for winning an essay competition for ideas on how to better manage “Transatlantic Relations” in its alleged “growing divide.” Their prize-winning thoughts:

By all accounts, Solana has been a great success. He has put the EU on the map,
in the Balkans, the Middle East and elsewhere. The time has come to give him a

more impressive if all sides worked better together – and if the EU could take
decisions more easily. One way to achieve both these objectives would be to
promote more joint initiatives. The EU should decide that if the High
Representative and the Commissioner for external relations agreed on a joint
proposal, then EU foreign ministers should accept it if a qualified majority
voted in favor. Because Solana has such excellent links with the capitals, he

policy ‘on the cheap’. Solana also needs more people working for him. In the
short term this means stationing more national diplomats in Brussels. In the
medium term, the EU should create its own diplomatic service. EU diplomats
should shuttle between the Brussels,the capitals and the Commission delegations
outside the EU. They should gradually take the lead in blending national
perspectives on international problems. Developing shared analyses is the best
way to ensure that member-states also agree on the necessary policy responses.”

· The powers of both national parliaments and the European Parliament in EU law-making will be strengthened.
· From 2014 onwards, the Commission will only have 18 members (the seats will rotate among the 28 EU member-states, with Croatia likely to join before 2014).

Blair vs. Solana?
Trouble in Jerusalem?
Tony Blair vs. Javier Solana?
Tony Blair has departed from his ten year held British Prime Ministership. His old job is now held by Gordon Brown. Over, it was said, the displeasure of Javier Solana, European foreign policy and security chief, Tony Blair was given a position as The Quartet's envoy to the Middle East. This happened with the active backing of George Bush. Javier Solana was said to have unhappily gone along. Later it was announced that per Javier Solana, Tony Blair would have no power to mediate Middle East Israeli-Palestinian disputes.
As Prime Minister of England, Tony Blair and his lawyer wife, Cheri Blair, unquestionably became used to "living large." As a couple, they also while professing a form of Christian allegiances, flew their New Age flags flagrantly and blatantly. In Mexico, they participated in a New Age initiation ceremony that consisted of them taking the personalities of animal spirits and bowing to the four elements.
Now that Tony Blair has his new job which as I understand it now is basically to be a promoter to attract business opportunities to economically strengthen the region to the benefit of Israelis and Palestinians alike, he is again planning to "live large." According to a recent press release, he is viewing what is described as "a palace" with an eye to making that his Jerusalem home.
He is said to be keen to take over the one-time residence of the British High Commissioner for Palestine, with its ballroom and spectacular view of the golden dome of Al-Aqsa mosque.
The house, built of Jerusalem stone in 1931, was once the pride of British diplomacy and occupies a commanding position in West Jerusalem on the inauspiciously named Hill of Evil Counsel, where Judas is said to have negotiated his betrayal of Jesus. It has acres of lush gardens filled with delphiniums, roses and trees. After the British mandate ended in 1948, it was taken over by the United Nations.
The same article tells what we already know. Neither Blair nor Solana are happy about the present structure. It appears that Tony Blair is not happy with its limitations. It appears that Javier Solana is not happy with Blair's new job existing at all.
It should be very interesting to see this one play out. Stay tuned! Presently, I'm betting that Javier Solana will come out on top, but then, who knows?

If a very recent British newspaper article is to be believed, Great Britain may soon surrender its permanent Security Council seat at the UN to the European Union’s Javier Solana. According to EU Referendum blogspot, Great Britain won’t lose their Security Council seat, nor will France, but the EU will instead have its own seat. Britain and/or France will have to defer to the EU and remain silent at the UN Security Council, should an issue arise on which the EU has taken a “common position.” [1] Whichever version of this is true, it will unquestionably mean a much greater role for him ( or any successor) on the world stage. Since October 1999, Solana has headed European foreign and military policy. He also serves as Secretary General of the European Union Council of Ministers. Also, since November 20, 1999, Solana has headed the Western European Union, a ten permanent member military federation. That was to have been a “temporary” one year stint, but I cynically note that the “year” has lasted a very long time and that job is still in existence. Solana uses the WEU job for holding military-industrial confabs that might not be as non-controversially available to him in other venues. [2] Since assuming his initial EU governmental roles, his powers have steadily grown. He now is playing an obviously prominent role in “global governance” as well.
Quoting from that article as it appears in the British Telegraph on line today, July 20, 2007:
My personal tracking of Javier Solana began in late November, 1995 – November 22 to be precise. As a culmination of his dual six month rotating presidencies of the European Union and Western European Union, Solana executed and signed a comprehensive Treaty of Association with Israel on November 20, 1995.[4] Only one week later, he would preside over the first Barcelona Conference designed to battle religious fundamentalism, set the stage for a Mediterranean Free Trade zone to be launched in 2010, and eliminate and/or reduce USA presence in the Mediterranean. Two days after the conclusion of that conference, he would be unanimously selected as a “dark horse candidate” to the disappointment of former Dutch president Ruud Lubbers who aspired to the job, to be the new Secretary General of NATO.[5] More surprisingly still was that this NATO job came to him only a scant few months after he dispatched Spanish warships against the Canada he declared a virtual state of war against.
While still at NATO, Javier Solana was given unusual grants of power for that usually ministerial type job – the sole power to decide if and when bombs should fall on the former Yugoslavia. Few Americans paid attention when President Clinton declared on national USA TV on March 21, 1999, “I agree with Javier Solana’s decision to do this.” I heard no news person ever ask, “Who’s Javier Solana?”
Solana's first EU positions, apart from the rotating jobs he held before taking over NATO in December 1995 were Secretary General of the Council of Ministers of the European Union; Office of the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union, were created by the EU Council of Ministers in December 1998 with the curiously numbered Europa codified Section 666. His job is indexed at Europa under that number.[6] As many who have followed my previous writings about Dr. Solana (he holds a University of Virginia physics doctorate) know, after receiving these powers he used his Western European Union seat to propose even more, also curiously named and numbered “Recommendation 666.”[7]
Subsequent to that, among many other grants of authority, Mr. Solana has been deemed the only person suitable to give orders to shut down the Galileo Satellite System of the EU, headquartered at Torrejon, Spain, “in case of emergency.”[8]

It was formerly the property of Sir Harold Acton. Page 666 of Sidney Blumenthal's book, records another global elite event. On November 20, 1999, just about the same time, maybe the very same day that Javier Solana was handed the ten national Western European Union presidency, a star studded dinner was held. The event happened near Florence, Italy. Sidney Blumenthal acted as toastmaster. That night, November 20, 1999, the Clintons, the Blairs, Gerhard Schroeder, and so many other world elites were in attendance at it, the Villa La Pietra. So was Javier Solana. He is specifically mentioned on that interestingly, perhaps coincidentally, perhaps not numbered page 666 of the Blumenthal book, THE CLINTON WARS.
Topping all of this was the entertainment. Famed blind Italian tenor Andre Botticelli sang arias.
Solana is a former physics professor and long time Spanish cabinet officer. He is an admitted former Marxist. So far, he appears to be little noticed or is intentionally ignored by the USA's mainstream media. He has had a steady growing stream of powers handed him starting, apparently, in November 1995. In 1995, the six month rotating presidencies of the Western European Union, a ten nation military federation, and the European Union coincided for the very first time. Both rotating presidencies belonged to Spain for that six month period. Both were handed to Javier Solana to handle on behalf of the Kingdom of Spain. He was a mere cabinet officer for Spain at that time. He had also been spokesman for the Spanish government, from 1985 to 1988 while serving as Spain's Minister of Culture.
As the six month rotating president of the European Union, coinciding with one as well for the 10 Nation Western European Union, he executed the first of many Mediterranean area "Treaties of Association, with Israel on November 20, 1995. One week week later, he launched the Barcelona process which was an admitted hoped for Roman empire reconfiguration. Fifteen nations from Europe and 12 from the Middle East would participate. Ehud Barak represented Israel. Yasser Arafat represented the Palestinian Union. Barak proudly told the delegates at those sessions how happy he was that Israel had at long last joined "The European Club." "We have beaten our swords into plowshares," reportedly said Barak.
Only two days after that event from which the USA was excluded, except as an observer, Javier Solana would be named the new head of NATO. Canada, whose Nova Scotia's maritime economy had been virtually decimated by actions earlier that same year by Javier Solana, curiously went along with Solana's unanimous dark horse candidate election.[10]
Solana has also been given sole powers to shut down Europe's Space Agency in case of emergency. He is also working diligently to consolidate all military powers of the European Union. This means a potential army to him of 2 million men and modestly estimated 160 billion Euro budget.
That Javier Solana appears to be calling shots, even with the USA, is shown by treatment recently given Tony Blair. Although George Bush badly wanted Tony Blair, virtually his only EU ally, to be the Quartet's envoy to the Middle East, Blair has now been bluntly told that he has no authority to enter into negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians. Evidently, Javier Solana wants the diplomatic glory of that accomplishment all for himself. This is still another of the growing examples of Javier Solana always appearing to get his own way. [11]
Javier Solana is an apparently ubiquitous enigma. He looks bluntly totally harmless. I would describe him as being appearance wise as "somebody you would buy a used car from and feel perfectly safe, everybody's favorite uncle, everybody's favorite professor, the most comfortable pair of old shoes in your closet." In short, he looks perfectly safe.
Is he? His publicly revealed petulance over Tony Blair's appointment reveals another side to this man -- a more pensive, darker side. His declared antagonism to USA religious feelings in 2003,[12] his disregard for the religious feelings of Serbian Orthodox believers who are seeing their religious capital, Kosovo, ripped from them, his disregard for the Gush Katif Jewish Gaza settlers who were forcibly dragged from their former homes, only to have Gaza turned into a new terror center for the rest of Israel.
With the help of Stanford University and New York University, and the USA's Brookings Institution, Javier Solana is in the vanguard of drawing up new global governance machinery. [13] Those efforts have been even applauded by the USA's State Department. In that same speech and other speeches, Javier Solana expressed dismay that "nobody wanted to obey" and his interpretation of what he calls "The You-Tube Effect." [14]
'We now know that we must bring together the world of soldiers, diplomats, judges and development experts. More fundamentally the old system cannot cope because power is shifting away. Within political systems: to the media, markets and above all to individuals. . . . These days, there is less obedience. Who wants to be a follower if you are constantly told you can be what you want to be? It is striking that in Britain, the slogan for the recruitment for the army has changed from "Your country needs You" to "Be all you can be".[15]
On July 14th, Javier Solana celebrated his 65th birthday. It appears that France and Great Britain gave him some pretty big presents in the form of the new European treaty. Solana has long coveted Security Council access. This time, it appears he just may have gotten it.[16]

If a very recent British newspaper article is to be believed, Great Britain may soon surrender its permanent Security Council seat at the UN to the European Union’s Javier Solana. According to EU Referendum blogspot, Great Britain won’t lose their Security Council seat, nor will France, but the EU will instead have its own seat. Britain and/or France will have to defer to the EU and remain silent at the UN Security Council, should an issue arise on which the EU has taken a “common position.” [1] Whichever version of this is true, it will unquestionably mean a much greater role for him ( or any successor) on the world stage. Since October 1999, Solana has headed European foreign and military policy. He also serves as Secretary General of the European Union Council of Ministers. Also, since November 20, 1999, Solana has headed the Western European Union, a ten permanent member military federation. That was to have been a “temporary” one year stint, but I cynically note that the “year” has lasted a very long time and that job is still in existence. Solana uses the WEU job for holding military-industrial confabs that might not be as non-controversially available to him in other venues. [2] Since assuming his initial EU governmental roles, his powers have steadily grown. He now is playing an obviously prominent role in “global governance” as well.

The British government had claimed that powers for the EU foreign policy supremo, rechristened a High Representative, have been reduced and his UN role stripped from the new treaty. , , However, an EU official confirmed: "We retain, except for the name of the minister, the Constitutional Treaty text of 2004 including the provisions on the UN. , , "There is a provision which provides for the representative of the EU to state the position of the EU at the UN Security Council." , , The Government had insisted that negotiations on the treaty had ensured that the British presence on the Security Council would never be replaced by an EU representative. My personal tracking of Javier Solana began in late November, 1995 – November 22 to be precise. As a culmination of his dual six month rotating presidencies of the European Union and Western European Union, Solana executed and signed a comprehensive Treaty of Association with Israel on November 20, 1995.[4] Only one week later, he would preside over the first Barcelona Conference designed to battle religious fundamentalism, set the stage for a Mediterranean Free Trade zone to be launched in 2010, and eliminate and/or reduce USA presence in the Mediterranean. Two days after the conclusion of that conference, he would be unanimously selected as a “dark horse candidate” to the disappointment of former Dutch president Ruud Lubbers who aspired to the job, to be the new Secretary General of NATO.[5] More surprisingly still was that this NATO job came to him only a scant few months after he dispatched Spanish warships against the Canada he declared a virtual state of war against.
While still at NATO, Javier Solana was given unusual grants of power for that usually ministerial type job – the sole power to decide if and when bombs should fall on the former Yugoslavia. Few Americans paid attention when President Clinton declared on national USA TV on March 21, 1999, “I agree with Javier Solana’s decision to do this.” I heard no news person ever ask, “Who’s Javier Solana?”
Solana's first EU positions, apart from the rotating jobs he held before taking over NATO in December 1995 were Secretary General of the Council of Ministers of the European Union; Office of the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union, were created by the EU Council of Ministers in December 1998 with the curiously numbered Europa codified Section 666. His job is indexed at Europa under that number.[6] As many who have followed my previous writings about Dr. Solana (he holds a University of Virginia physics doctorate) know, after receiving these powers he used his Western European Union seat to propose even more, also curiously named and numbered “Recommendation 666.”[7]
Subsequent to that, among many other grants of authority, Mr. Solana has been deemed the only person suitable to give orders to shut down the Galileo Satellite System of the EU, headquartered at Torrejon, Spain, “in case of emergency.”[8]
