It's the same kind of abuse, the same ploy to stop and forbid oversight during the 2020 election isn't it?
People who had the right to observe the process but were kept at bay, unable to see the way the ballots were handled and counted. Same ploy that allowed things to be cherry picked and/or hidden, done after legal vote counting was to be closed yet behind closed doors they counted what was not legal.
So many antics and shenanigans and we are supposed to trust these people with our votes, with our right to lawfully protest and observe how matters under the Constitution are to be done by the Constitution. When I read a book by former Moonie Stephen Hassan about Trump's cult of personality, I could see many double binds Christians in our day and age are facing.
For just one example, a cult characteristic is to distrust any information that comes from outside of the cult, because people inside the cult regard it as axiomatic that the world outside the cult is absolutely evil and Satanic.

I am in the middle of reading The Cult of Trump by Stephen Hassan, a former Moonie who dedicated his life to helping people to leave cults, after he left the Moonies and became deprogrammed.
He has always been non-partisan up until now. In his book about, The Cult of Trump, he lays out the similarities he notices between Trump, L. Ron Hubbard, David Koresh, Jim Jones and others.
For those unaware that the Jan 6 Committee is chock full of conservative republican's testifying against Trump and Trump's insurrectionist allies' attempted Coup...I give you former Federal Judge Michael Luttig's testimony today.
A preeminent conservative lawyer and former federal judge said Thursday that the theories pushed by his former law clerk, John Eastman, to pressure former Vice President Mike Pence to overturn the 2020 election results were baseless in every way, accused former President Trump of trying to “steal America’s democracy” and said Trump remains a “clear and present danger to American democracy.”
“I would have laid my body across the road before I would have let the vice president overturn the 2020 election,” said J. Michael Luttig, in testimony to the select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters.
Luttig served as a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit for 15 years, and prior to that worked as a lawyer for Republican presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush. During his time on the federal bench, Luttig mentored numerous clerks who went on to positions of prominence in conservative legal circles and in Republican politics.
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, clerked for Luttig and once described the judge as “like a father to me.” Another lawyer who clerked for Luttig was John Eastman, who went on to clerk for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and became the dean of Chapman University Law School in Orange, Calif.
Eastman, after the 2020 election, became a legal adviser to Trump and was the chief advocate for the legal theory that Trump’s vice president, Pence, had the constitutional authority to reject and overturn the 2020 election results, or return them to the states so that Trump could remain in power.
Luttig, who gave Pence legal advice at the time, was one of only two people to testify before the committee on Thursday. The roughly three-hour hearing delved in great detail into the legal arguments Eastman made. The other witness was Greg Jacobs, Pence’s top White House lawyer during the period, who engaged most directly with Eastman.
“There was no basis in the Constitution, or the laws of the United States — at all — for the theory espoused by Mr. Eastman, at all. None,” Luttig told the committee.
Luttig called Eastman’s attempts to convince Pence to overturn the results “constitutional mischief.”
Jacobs detailed the many conversations and meetings between himself, Eastman and others in the days leading up to the Jan. 6 insurrection by Trump supporters. The portrait that emerged from Jacobs’s testimony portrayed Eastman as desperate to come up with some rationalization — anything — to justify a naked grab for power by Trump.
Jacobs made clear that although Eastman knew his legal arguments had no merit, he continued to insist on them on the night of Jan. 6, even after rioters had been cleared from the Capitol.
Luttig’s written statement to the committee cast the situation in unflinching terms. “A stake was driven through the heart of American democracy on January 6, 2021, and our democracy today is on a knife’s edge,” Luttig wrote in the first line of a 12-page letter.
Jan. 6, Luttig wrote, was “the final fateful day for the execution of a well-developed plan by the former president to overturn the 2020 presidential election at any cost, so that he could cling to power that the American People had decided to confer upon his successor.”
“Knowing full well that he had lost the 2020 presidential election, the former president and his allies and supporters falsely claimed and proclaimed to the nation that he had won the election, and then he and they set about to overturn the election that he and they knew the former president had lost,” Luttig wrote. “The treacherous plan was no less ambitious than to steal America’s democracy.”
Luttig was halting in his personal testimony before the committee, speaking painstakingly and slowly, with long pauses. He looked down at the table, his expression pained.
His written testimony, however, was blistering, and included this assessment of the legal advice that Eastman, his former clerk, had provided to Trump: “Those efforts, by the former president were the product of the most reckless, insidious, and calamitous failures in both legal and political judgment in American history.”

“I don't speak those words lightly,” Luttig said. “I would have never uttered one single one of those words unless the former president and his allies were candidly and proudly speaking those exact words to America.”
In his written testimony, Luttig called on the leadership of the Republican Party to take the first step in charting a new course for the United States. “In order to end these wars that are draining the lifeblood from our country, a critical mass of our two parties’ political leaders is needed,” he wrote. “This number needs to include a critical mass of leaders from the former president’s political party."
Luttig called on these Republican leaders, saying they "need to go first,” laying aside their partisan grievances and prioritizing the preservation of democracy.

This will be my last comment on your blog. I don't know if you will read this. I have been praying for your recovery. I have not always agreed with you. It took me a while to stand with you on this one. But once I changed my mind I didn't want to slink away quietly.

This has made my thoughts go from, "How can I get out of this?" to "What can I get out of this?" to "I need to get out of this for the sake of my Christian faith."
By "get out of this," I mean get out of end times conspiracy theory, culture wars and online doom scrolling.

There is nothing in that Qutar study that contradicts what was known about the effectiveness of the Covid vaccines.
We knew the effectiveness of just the two doses wanes/waned and that it wasn't that effective against Omicron infections which started circulating more than 8 months after everyone in the study got their 2nd shot. At no point did they conclude in this study that those who got 2 shots were MORE LIKELY to contract covid 19 as the results showed "negligible benefits" to just the 2 doses. Regardless of its waned effectiveness even two doses still provided significant protection from "severe, critical and/or fatal covid-19 even with the Omicron variate (about 70% greater protection versus NO VACCINE at all).
We've been aware for a long time that previous infection confers future and somewhat longer protection against re-infection (which makes sense when you get the whole virus versus just a inactive part of one), however, that doesn't make it the preferred route as one must then necessarily risk hospitalization, long covid and even death of themselves, family, loved ones and any other person they are more likely to spread such infection to in order to obtain such protection.
We've speculated and been aware that previously infected persons who receive vaccinations too (hybrid immunity) have even greater protection against infection and "severe, critical and/or fatal Covid-19".
All in all, the study still supports. Read it for yourself instead of depending upon and repeating known liars.

Controlling the brain with sound waves: how does it work?
Well, to get straight to the science, the principle of non-invasive neuromodulation is to focus ultrasound waves into a region in the brain so that they all gather in a small spot. Then hopefully, given the right set of parameters, this can change the activity of the neurons.
If you want to get rid of neurons that have gone wild, for example in epilepsy, then you might want to crank up the energy to essentially kill them. But if you want to selectively promote or block the neuronal activity, you need to fine-tune your ultrasound waves carefully.
In other words, there’s a difference between ultrasound stimulation used for removing tissue, and ultrasound neuromodulation, which is aimed at controlling neuronal activity without damaging the tissue.
Ultrasound neuromodulation is something that definitely works, but that we still don’t understand.
What social good can come of it?
The current buzzwords are Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, as well as traumatic brain injuries. But scientists are also looking at the spinal cord and peripheral nervous systems. As far as I am concerned, since the brain is the de facto centre of decision for so many processes, any of them could be targeted.
Is it safe?
When attempting to 'control' neuronal activity by providing minute mechanical vibrations to a region of the brain, it's important that the focus of the ultrasound, frequency and amplitude are properly tuned, or the brain can potentially be damaged. The point is that we still don't know how to tune all of this; and if I were to exaggerate a bit, I could say that our current approach is not that far off from fiddling around with the settings on a radio until we hear the right station.
One of the many difficulties is to know for sure that we are indeed controlling neurons with these sound waves, as opposed to damaging them. The truth is that we still don’t know how the process works. And if you don’t know how it works, you don’t know how much is "too much".

Southwest airlines pilots weren't decimated by vaccine mandates nor reactions to the vaccine. They are protesting long hours. New "safety" regulations enacted by the Trump administration made hiring new pilots and keeping older pilots in the air much more difficult. I think the union is being gamed by the GOP. It makes sense to me that pilots of airplanes might perhaps be often of a personality type which would tend to be non-conforming to enforced insanity, such as experimental non vaccines being tried on unwitting guinea pigs, _which would get them in hot water under any self respecting megalomaniac Marxist wannabe world changers.
Yes, I said "experimental non vaccines" although I probably should have said "experimental, potentially dangerous, intentionally secretive and potentially catastrophic non vaccines, masquerading as vaccines", _or something like that.
