After reading Daniel 9:27 again, and so many people are speculating about the prophecy stating ...He confirmed a covenant with "the many"... it dawned on me that that sentance doesn't really make sense. "Many" is an adjective but "the many" is used as a noun in this instance. I thought I had better look up the word to see the context and wow! what I discovered.

Many: strongs# 7227 Rab

means: abundant (in quantity, size, age, number, rank, quality)

In my Strongs expanded dictionary of Bible Words,

It says Rab as a noun means chief, an indication of military rank similar to our word for general,

Rab as an adjective means many, great, large, prestigious, powerful. It indicates plurality to whatever it represents.

Now, Here is my thought, the many does not tell you what the many describes. The examples in the expanded dictionary are many waters, many years, many things, etc. Due to the fact that many in Daniel 9:27 is being used as a noun, Do you think that that word would better be translated

He confirmed a covenant for one week with the chief...?

That same word also has been translated to say: captain, elder, master, officer, prince in these same contexts.

Also strongs# 7228 is Rab, also the same Hebrew word and means an archer, so there is no way to tell the difference between those words, as they are the same, it could also say...

He confirmed a covenant for one week with the archer....

Also Strongs# 7229 is Rab and is the aramaic word it corresponds to 7227 and means great, master, stout, chief, captain, lord

Just thought we should be accurate in our understanding of the interpretation of Daniel, we just might want to reconsider "the many" when looking at the ENP.

Thanks for reading

Hi Leana,

I guess time and events will probably tell -- Herb thought that could well mean with many nations. I tend to agree with that interpretation as "a treaty" is usually a binding agreement between nations or groups of nations -- not between individuals.

Hope this helps. I admire your research so very much, Leanna.

Hi Candy,

Sorry. The link on the headline worked, but I had to edit the one in the story. Try again -- it's well worth the reading. Read all the stories. He has an imperative one on Javier Solana.

Hi Constance
I checked the 70th Week, and read the article on SEPA. This very same evening I also read an excellent explanation on the intentions of those working to create a "one world currency", and how centrally important that is to creating a one world order.

http://www.crossroad.to/articles2/forcing-change/08/one-money.htm

Many revealing quotes - if any are needed.

It's all about power now. The concern I have is how many foolish virgins have been swept up into the whirlwind of the money power lust. How many have forsaken Jesus teaching: My kingdom is not of this world.

Anonymous said...

Well, I'm afraid the ruse of "Zionism", has caused a large number of Christians to fall asleep. What I notice is that all the "prosperity" preachers are also Zionists - they support the political state of Israel. This is no wonder - since they are blind guides.

The ruse of Zionism, is that the political state of Israel = the Chosen People.

The Old Covenant was fulfilled by the New Covenant, in which we are no longer Jew or Gentile - all are one in Christ.

Now it is as if he were speaking to modern day Zionist Christians that Paul wrote Galatians 3. Read it and weep for how foolish the virgins can be.

http://www.carm.org/kjv/Gal/gal_3.htm

Here Paul clarified that the real "seed of Abraham" was not the Jews, but is Jesus. The promises to Abraham continued through Jesus - and not through the Jews. How could it be both ways ??? The Jews rejected the Son of God. So who was the "seed of Abraham" that inherited the promises? Go read Paul. Jesus is the seed of Abraham. And who are the heirs of Christ? The Jews? The political state of Israel? How hard is this to understand? The heir of the Covenant is Christ, and those who are co-heirs with him through belief in his Name. By the mercy and grace of God, the Jews can become heirs of this covenant the same way you and I can. By faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

But the Zionists hate the idea that the Jews are not "God's special people". "(They) have Abraham for (their) father", they will exclaim. But let's read Jesus direct answer to that:

from Matthew:
9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

So much for claims to be the chosen people. Jesus told them to not even think it, let alone make the claim, and go arrogantly about establishing a "Zion", and all the while denying the only true Lord of the real Zion. Now do you foolishly suppose that God has changed his mind, and decided that Jesus was not really so important after all? Maybe he made a mistake, and still needs the Jews to be his Chosen People with a political kingdom in the “holy land”. People with enough chutzpah to believe and act like they are more important than anyone else.

Anti-Christ is Greek. Christ, means "anointed", referring to the ancient custom of designating king, as Samuel anointed David, years before he actually became king. He was the anointed, or chosen king. So, to be anointed (cristo) was to be "chosen".
Jesus was designated (chosen) with the sign of the dove, as the Messiah, Christ, Anointed One, when the Father spoke, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

Anti means --- oh, you were thinking "opposed", but guess what - no. In the Greek, "anti" can mean "substitute", or "false".

Therefore, anti-christ means "false anointed", or false-chosen.

So, false "chosen" people are worthy of the title, anti-christ.

Regarding the spirit of the Zionist heresy, another good text to understand is the epistle of 1John 4, which begins with this straight and simple statement:

1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

So the false-chosen anti-christ cannot acknowledge the true chosen Christ, as the Son of God. To do so would be to surrender their own claim as the "Chosen" anointed ones.

What I seriously wonder is how the foolish virgins, who should really belong to the Body of Christ, are decieved into thinking the false-chosen are really the true-chosen. For the true-chosen cannot possibly be any other than those who confess the True Christ.

Yes, it does make sense that the alliance or treaty will be among nations, and that is what I have traditionally thought, but figured I would mention about the different meanings of the words.

Searching for information on the internet isn't as open as one might hope for.

Primary voting is coming up again on Tuesday of this week. Results are smoothly predicted and pronounced on television. Of course everything is above board with so many people watching what is going on we are to assume. When we are given the results we are to move on. Anything else is old news. But is it?

A primary was held in New Hampshire. Dennis Kucinich and a group of Paul supporters requested a recount. Albert Howard
http://alberthoward.org/default.aspx was on the ballot in NH for president. The Granny Warriors, supporters of Ron Paul, asked for the recount in Howard's name. Paul didn't ask for a recount. They had to raise $55,000 in 48 hours. Why?

Over the years I've read much about voter fraud, so when Devvy Kidd's column on the topic appeared, I read but ignored. With the second one I decided to see what was out there about the recount.
http://www.newswithviews.com/Devvy/kidd337.htm

She mentioned
http://blackboxvoting.org/ which is described as the voter watchdog group. It is.

When I did a Google search putting in New Hampshire + recount into the search, I found a huge number of articles with opinions about the recount. Blackboxvoting appeared in 98th place. Very few people will go down almost 100 spots to find concrete information, assuming columnists did the work already. That's not how it is.

Here Kucinich people pay $25,000 for the recount.

Did Paypal freeze the Granny account, causing them to miss the deadline?

Ron Paul's supporters finance N.H. GOP recount

Who paid? Why aren't the recount laws being followed in NH? Why are they making sure nothing is reported before this Tuesday? Why aren't the questions being answered and the story covered in the major media?

I'm not a Paul supporter, but I recognize that more ordinary people are involved in his candidacy than in any of the others.

Something about the voting process really smells. Isn't it strange that no matter who wins we will have no change in the direction in which this country is going?

I'm acting as a Republican judge here in Illinois this Tuesday. Once the votes leave the polling place, I have no idea what goes on. Two of us drop the information off in a room full of people and that's it.

By the way, check your state for regulations regarding write-ins. In Illinois they aren't counted unless an individual states in advance he is a write-in candidate. All other write-ins are just ignored.

I have been following your site and the Solana story for some time and the information is greatly appreciated. In light of your reference to Damiens' (The Omen) heritage perhaps you will find this of interest. Recently I came across the AP photo of Solana signing the new EU treaty (October 29, 2004) at the Musei Capitolini in the Appartamento dei Conservatori. The Hall they are in is called the Hall of the She-Wolf. In the photo he is seated in front of the statue of Pope Innocent X. What the photo does not show is above the statue is a large fresco entitled "Ritrovamento della Lupa" or "Finding the She-Wolf". In the fresco and in Greek mythology the she-wolf is suckling Romulus and Remus. The she-wolf aka Artemis, is the eternal virgin daughter of Zeus (Zeus, who in his animal form the bull rapes Europa - emblem of the EU) - Moving further along the family tree - Artemis's twin brother/Zeus's son is Apollo (Apollyon). Mythology calls him the god of light who delighted in the foundation of cities, leaders of colonists, god of the broad seas, etc. Both brother and sister are archers known for their symbolism to the bow.

Perhaps another in a series of strange coincidences?

While I refuse to turn Constances' blog into a forum for debate, I couldn't let your comments regarding the Jewish people and Israel just slide past all the readers without offering my response. It has been said, "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing." The view you have presented represents the view of those who accept "Replacement Theology" I disagree with your interpretation of what the Word of God teaches about Old vs New Covenant and how it relates to salvation, the State of Israel, the Jewish people and God's covenant with Abraham. I believe that true followers of Jesus love the Jewish people and will defend her right to exist . I am not saying Israel as a people does no wrong. God made an everlasting, unconditional covenant with Abraham, not dependent on his (Abraham's) "works" any more than the New Covenant offered to the world is dependent on "works" by the Gentiles. Fortunately, through God's chosen people Israel, the door has been opened also to the Gentiles, "until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in." The Abrahamic Covenant is forever.
"And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
Genesis 17:7-8
God IS who He is and He MEANS what He says. "I will bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed." It's not a cliche. I'd encourage you to do further study.
There is a huge difference between the Abrahamic Covenant, the Mosaic Covenant, and the Messianic Covenant . One need not be a “blind guide” , a Zionist Christian or a “foolish virgin” to acknowledge God is sovereign and His dealings with and ultimate working out of His Covenant with Israel is His business. Those who trust Him will bless them. Rudi

Rudi, thanks for taking the time to respond to the recurring theme which gives a green light to those who would watch or aide the demise of Israel. Those who cannot understand what the LORD was saying here are just blind and, or politically motivated.
Setterman
24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God. Ezek. 11.19, 20

This cannot happen if there is no Israel.

1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the Spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,
2 and caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.
3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.
4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.
5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:
6 and I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.
8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.
This is unbelieving Israel. What has The LORD’S word said concerning this unbelieving state?
9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.
10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, Rev. 11.11 an exceeding great army.

11 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.
12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
13 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
14 and shall put my Spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.
11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
14 if by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.
15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
18 boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not high-minded, but fear:
21 for if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.
24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree; how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?

The Restoration of Israel
25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits, that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written,

This might be a bit of reading, but, to my mind, my soul, and spirit, this settles the issue.

Thank-you Setterman,
The scriptures you've shared were worth the read. They settle the issue 1000 times over. God can certainly speak for Himself can't He? -Rudi

Thank you Rudi and Setterman for such admirable posts.

Here is a link by John Richard Neuhaus--I often disagree with him, but he always makes me think:

Rudi, for a fleeting moment I thought, as I read your post, I was reading Hind’s feet in High places; it brought a smile to my strained face. Thanks!

http://www.firstthings.com/article.php3?id_article=2260

Rose, J.R. Neuhaus’ article is interesting and a challenge to follow with many pithy references, but is a bit erudite for me; a convoluted apologetic construct that seems to say: “And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom… “

Now follow my train of thought:

3:1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, 3:2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to youward: 3:3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, 3:4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) 3:5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; 3:6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

So important that we understand that the gospel “is to the Jew first;” some have made it never, or may be they get “one chance.”

And later Paul says: 4:7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. 4:9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

I believe that Abraham’s bosom is now empty. Christ Jesus now says “you must be born again.” I recommend J. Vernon McGee’s commentary on these verses. J.V. put the “cookie jar down where the children could get them.”
11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes…” He wept.” (His people would suffer so.)

Yours in Christ:
Setterman
