ARE THESE JAVIER SOLANA'S FANGS SHOWING?

This book, WHY ANGELS FALL is an important part of my library.  When the system was first implemented, devout Greek Orthodox monks solemnly warned:  666 is here!  Here is an excerpt -- well worth the reading!

HIS JOB WAS CREATED WITH EUROPA DOCUMENTS SECTION 666 -- IT WAS EXPANDED WITH HIS WEU BILL RECOMMENDATION 666 -- AND NOW EU'S STATEWATCH SHOWS US CLEARLY WHERE HIS ALL-SURVEILLANCE SOCIETY IS GOING . . . TIME FOR US ALL TO WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE!  IT IS HAPPENING AND IT IS HAPPENING NOW!  CLEVERLY AS HAS OFTEN BEEN THE CASE LATELY, SOLANA'S NAME -- LIKE MOST OF THE BOOKS OUT THERE -- DOESN'T SHOW.  REMEMBER JAVIER SOLANA IS THE SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE EU COUNCIL OF MINISTERS -- THE ONLY "PILLAR" OF THE EU WITH POWER -- THE COMMISSION MAKES 'RECOMMENDATIONS' -- THE 'PARLIAMENT' COMMENTS ON 'RECOMMENDATIONS.  THE POWER IS VESTED WITH THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS -- THESE ARE THEM!

Now that I've read the following book, I do not think this will be the Antichrist.

  2. Your guess is as good as mine, BUT, the strategy of the NAM has been to pit JEWS, CHRISTIANS, AND MOSLEMS against EACH OTHER and then they are to be the PHOENIX to rebuild from our ashes. Mutual incitement while accusing us of incitement is their game!

The Moslem terrorists clearly have their faults, but so far, they have not proposed a universal tracking system! Solana has!

I've seen some clips and read the rationale behind the view that the AC will be a Muslim. But IMHO, Bible prophecy demands 100% accuracy, and a Muslim or Arabic AC doesn't fit everything.

Just a quick rundown of how I think it will all pan out:

Re. the statement Daniel made about "the people of the prince that shall come", it has been pointed out that the armies that destroyed Jerusalem in 70AD were largely composed of areas that are now fully Muslim. But Islam as a religion did not exist in Daniel's time of course, and not in the first century. Daniel is talking about nationalities, not religions, and it is the nationality of the prince that matters-- not the armies the prince led. At any rate, the wording in Dan. 9 does not specify any connection between the people who destroy the city and the sanctuary, and the ruler (trad. "prince") who would come later. We only make that connection by virtue of the pronoun "he", such that it would indicate someone like the ruler of those who destroyed Jerusalem in 70AD. In fact, in this passage, there is no break at all between the destruction and the signing of the 7-year covenant. That is why some (Preterists) believe this prophecy was already completely fulfilled. However, no such agreement between Jerusalem (which the ruler at that time destroyed, making it impossible) and "many". So this coming ruler will be of Roman descent.

Other criteria for the world religion are found in Rev. 17. When I read this list, I conclude that only the Vatican fits every detail:
    dressed in purple and scarlet
decked with gold, gems and pearls
    adulerous
    called "MYSTERY Babylon"
drunk with the blood of believers
    includes many nations and languages
is a great CITY that rules over the kings of the earth

Only two entities have ever been "joined" to God: Israel and the Church. So only one of those entities can possibly be guilty of adultery in a spiritual sense. And only the Vatican is a literal city that acts like a nation and has global influence. And while many religions have their varieties of mysticism, Rome has openly announced her intention to absorb (assimilate?) them all, and mysticism is the "glue" that will bind them all together, albeit "loosely" (Dan. 2).

We learn more about that 70th week in Revelation, but first we need to remember that Daniel and Revelation are not the only prophecies related to the very end times. The most prominent reference is that of the war of Ezekiel 38-39. Where that will fit in prophecy has long been debated, but personally I believe it is the war spoken of in Rev. during the Seal judgments.

There is an excellent and intriguing theory at The Prophetic Years which is the best study I've ever seen on the Book of Revelation. It makes a very good case for treating the Seals as a period of 3.5 years between the Rapture and the Tribulation, with the Trumpets comprising the first half and the Bowls the second. I made a chart at This Link to try and illustrate the sequence of events. The author also has a summary at This Link.

So how does Islam fit in with all this? I believe that in the aftermath of the Rapture, the forces of Islam will see a great opportunity to attack Israel. They will use their ties with Russia, the "hook in the jaw", to drag it into a sudden war. It may well be that the rider on the white horse is a Muslim leader, the Mahdi they are expecting. We should remember that this is a prophet, not their god Allah; in contrast, the AC will claim to be God. But these Muslim armies will be destroyed on the mountains of Israel. I believe this period or gap between the Rapture and the Trib. will last about 3.5 years.

This is a perfect setup in several ways. It makes a plausible scenario for Israel finally thinking they have "peace and safety", and the AC will likely take credit for destroying radical Islam and bringing mideast peace. So Israel will sign an agreement to lay down their arms in exchange for the rebuilding of the Temple.

By the time the AC breaks that covenant after another 3.5 years, a total of 7 years will have passed since the Rapture, and people will think it's the end of the Trib. when it's actually the middle. So when the AC destroys the "two witnesses" who later come back to life and are taken away, he will claim they were "the beast and the false prophet" who were thrown into the Lake of Fire. Many Israelis will finally have their eyes opened and flee to Petra at the south end of the Dead Sea, where they will be kept safe for the final 3.5 years.

The rest of the world, pseudo-Christianity (aka New Age), will make war against Jerusalem, thinking they are those who try to make war with the Lamb at the end of the Trib. They will be fighting for their "Christ".

Nobody's theory is air-tight, but we have to be careful not to just pick a "front-runner" and discard the prophetic details that don't fit.

Something else about it that is rather creepy is the connection (Cern)to handicapped Scientist Stephen Hawking who claims he had a vision that he would "save the earth" one day. )I'm trying to find that link, and I'll post it when I find it. Hawking is the one that was in the opening of Dan Brown's book, "Angels and Demon", which was called "Illuminati" in Europe. Brown of gnostic "Da Vinci code" fame.

Constance is right. All we can do is speculate.

Even if this is not THE Antichrist, it could be one of the "many antichrists" Our Lord said would precede the arrival of the final world dictator.

    Hello everyone,

Is there anyone out there whose church offers no teaching on the book of Revelation/End Times/Tribulation/Antichrist whatsoever? My (Methodist) church in the UK. simply does not go down this road, and never even preaches on the subject of hell! I've been a member for nearly 2 years now, and am still waiting for our Minister, or one of our local preachers (half of which are women)to even mention the subject! I am beginning to wonder if I am going down the wrong road by being extremely interested in these type of things (I have been for many years now) because no one else in my church seems the slightest bit interested. Maybe they've got it right, and I've got it wrong?! All they seem to be doing is holding Fund-raising events to help clear the debt incurred for the recent re-development of the church building. It has definitely improved the place, yes, and I realise that from a practical point of view the debt needs to be cleared, but running alongside that, there needs to be some teaching going on regarding very pertinent issues like Apostasy, Deception, Prophecy, Eschatology, Bible Doctrines, Witnessing, etc. We have one Bible Study a month as our Minister has to look after 3 churches. Only a handful of people attend. We use the 'Good News' Bible, whereas I would like to use the King James (not the New King James, by the way!). No-one ever mentions the Second Coming, or even the Rapture of the Church, which I believe may come towards the end of the Tribulation rather than at the beginning. All the churches round here seem to be the same. I don't drive, so cannot go too far out. Really, I am becoming exasperated! I follow this blogspot quite regularly, and find the content vitally interesting. Long may it continue! Any comments would be gratefully received.

Recently, Governor David Paterson - New York's first black governor - implied that Sarah Palin's repeated use of 'community organizer' was another way of saying "black" and was therefore racist.

    http://tinyurl.com/576825

I beg to differ with Governor Paterson.

"Community organizer" is not another way of saying "black." It is another way of saying "Marxist."

The following article from the U.K. publication THE SPECTATOR says it all:
    ______________________________

    REVOLUTION YOU CAN BELIEVE IN
    by Melanie Philips

    Tuesday, 9th September 2008

In her game-changing convention speech, Sarah Palin took a swipe at Obama for having been nothing more in his life than a ‘community organiser’.

This prompted the Obama campaign to issue a pained defence of community organisation as a way of promoting social change ‘from the bottom up’. The impression is that community organising is a worthy if woolly and ultimately ineffectual grassroots activity. This is to miss something of the greatest importance: that in the world of Barack Obama, community organisers are a key strategy in a different game altogether; and the name of that game is revolutionary Marxism.

The seditious role of the community organiser was developed by an extreme left intellectual called Saul Alinsky. He was a radical Chicago activist who, by the time he died in 1972, had had a profound influence on the highest levels of the Democratic party. Alinsky was a ‘transformational Marxist’ in the mould of Antonio Gramsci, who promoted the strategy of a ‘long march through the institutions’ by capturing the culture and turning it inside out as the most effective means of overturning western society. In similar vein, Alinsky condemned the New Left for alienating the general public by its demonstrations and outlandish appearance. The revolution had to be carried out through stealth and deception. Its proponents had to cultivate an image of centrism and pragmatism. A master of infiltration, Alinsky wooed Chicago mobsters and Wall Street financiers alike. And successive Democratic politicians fell under his spell.

His creed was set out in his book ‘Rules for Radicals’ – a book he dedicated to Lucifer, whom he called the ‘first radical’. It was Alinsky for whom ‘change’ was his mantra. And by ‘change’, he meant a Marxist revolution achieved by slow, incremental, Machiavellian means which turned society inside out. This had to be done through systematic deception, winning the trust of the naively idealistic middle class by using the language of morality to conceal an agenda designed to destroy it. And the way to do this, he said, was through ‘people’s organisations’.

Community organisers would mobilise direct action by the oppressed masses against their capitalist oppressors. In FrontPageMagazine.Com John Perazzo writes:

These People’s Organizations were to be composed largely of discontented individuals who believed that society was replete with injustices that prevented them from being able to live satisfying lives. Such organizations, Alinsky advised, should not be imported from the outside into a community, but rather should be staffed by locals who, with some guidance from trained radical organizers, could set their own agendas.

The installment of local leaders as the top-level officers of People’s Organizations helped give the organizations credibility and authenticity in the eyes of the community. This tactic closely paralleled the longtime Communist Party strategy of creating front organizations that ostensibly were led by non-communist fellow-travelers, but which were in fact controlled by Party members behind the scenes...

Alinsky viewed as supremely important the role of the organizer, or master manipulator, whose guidance was responsible for setting the agendas of the People’s Organization... Alinsky laid out a set of basic principles to guide the actions and decisions of radical organizers and the People’s Organizations they established. The organizer, he said, ‘must first rub raw the resentments of the people; fan the latent hostilities to the point of overt expression. He must search out controversy and issues, rather than avoid them, for unless there is controversy people are not concerned enough to act.’[40] The organizer’s function, he added, was ‘to agitate to the point of conflict’[41] and ‘to maneuver and bait the establishment so that it will publicly attack him as a “dangerous enemy.” ‘[42] ‘The word ‘enemy,’ said Alinsky, ‘is sufficient to put the organizer on the side of the people’;[43] i.e., to convince members of the community that he is so eager to advocate on their behalf, that he has willingly opened himself up to condemnation and derision.

Obama’s connection with Alinsky, whom he never met but whom he reportedly idolised, was through two bodies promoting the Alinsky model of community organisation, ACORN and the Gamaliel Foundation.

Obama was trained by the Alinsky-founded Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF) in Chicago and worked for an affiliate of the Gamaliel Foundation, whose modus operandi for the creation of ‘a more just and democratic society’ is rooted firmly in the Alinsky method. As The Nation magazine puts it, ‘Obama worked in the organizing tradition of Saul Alinsky, who made Chicago the birthplace of modern community organizing...’ In fact, for several years Obama himself taught workshops on the Alinsky method.

    1) The EU is the largest donor to, and supporter of, the P.A.
    2) UNIFIL has 10,000+ troops in Lebanon. (Interestingly, U.N. Sec.-Gen. Ban Ki-Moon, recently, and without official approval, turned U.N. authority and assets in Kosovo over to the EU, with Dr. Solana representing the EU.)
    3) Dr. Solana has oversight of the training and buildup of P.A. security forces in the West Bank.
    4) Dr. Solana has oversight of the Rafah Border Crossing, which is currently closed, but EU reps. are on standby. [It is conveniently located next to the Gaza Airport (3,047 meter paved runway).]

Potentially, Dr. Solana could have armed forces, at his disposal, to the north, east and south of Israel with the proverbial "drop of a hat."

I've been comparing Obama's DNC speech with GDR propaganda from the1980's-

    Excerpt from Obama’s DNC speech:

"It’s a promise that says each of us has the freedom to make of our own lives what we will, but that we also have the obligation to treat each other with dignity and respect.
It’s a promise that says the market should reward drive and innovation and generate growth, but that businesses should live up to their responsibilities to create American jobs, look out for American workers, and play by the rules of the road.
Ours is a promise that says government cannot solve all our problems, but what it should do is that which we cannot do for ourselves – protect us from harm and provide every child a decent education; keep our water clean and our toys safe; invest in new schools and new roads and new science and technology.
Our government should work for us, not against us. It should help us, not hurt us. It should ensure opportunity not just for those with the most money and influence, but for every American who’s willing to work.
That’s the promise of America – the idea that we are responsible for ourselves, but that we also rise or fall as one nation; the fundamental belief that I am my brother’s keeper; I am my sister’s keeper."
    http://tinyurl.com/6onlnd

Excerpts from GDR Propaganda in 1980:

"However, when we compare those who do it for general humanitarian reasons with those who display solidarity for class reasons, we see that although the latter group also gives humanitarian reasons, it is aware of the class character of relations with other peoples. As a result, they are more active, are more willing to volunteer for solidarity shifts [unpaid extra work, the proceeds of which went to various worthy causes], and have reached in general a higher level in their solidarity behavior. The solidarity behavior of the first group comes primarily from emotional grounds, while the second group is based on both emotional and rational grounds, and is thus aware of the world-historical development processes that are at work. We therefore see that that providing rational foundations to stabilize the ideological foundations of young people is absolutely necessary in the work of political propaganda, and that it leads to political firmness and a readiness to fight.

It is of course true that Marxism-Leninism is a science, and that a science must be studied, but that is only half of the truth. Our worldview is also a revolutionary ideology that filled and still fills the masses with enthusiasm. It is just that that led to changes throughout the world, and for which millions of people still risk their lives. This emotional side must also be reflected in ideological work."

I agree, Susanna, he's using textbook "transformational Marxist" "community organizing".

    To Miss Beaver (3:08 PM):

My heart and prayers go out to you that God will guide you on the right path in your search for a more supportive Christian church.

You must be feeling terribly isolated over there in the UK. I understand that church attendance, throughout Europe, is just a fraction of what it used to be.

Over here in America, the traditional Christian churches do teach the book of Revelation/End Times, Tribulation, etc.

Believe me . . . you've "got it right" and they've got it wrong.
Please continue to follow your gut feeling on this.

Also, since your Minister appears to be spread so thin . . . maybe you could ask to start up a discussion - even if only a small number of people might inititally be interested. It's a beginning anyway.

I also prefer the traditonal King James version of the Bible . . . and also support the post-Tribulation Rapture theory, rather than the pre-Tribulation Rapture.

    Only time will tell however.

May God continue to bless you and give you courage in your search for the truth.

Here's for AL GORE, BARACK OBAMA, AND JAVIER SOLANA ON "GLOBAL WARMING":

    http://www.usatoday.com/weather/news/2008-09-09-farmers-almanac_N.htm
    http://www.usatoday.com/weather/news/2008-09-09-farmers-almanac_N.htm

Old Farmers Almanac: Global cooling may be underway

By David Tirrell-Wysocki, Associated Press Writer
DUBLIN, N.H. — The Old Farmer's Almanac is going further out on a limb than usual this year, not only forecasting a cooler winter, but looking ahead decades to suggest we are in for global cooling, not warming.
Based on the same time-honored, complex calculations it uses to predict weather, the Almanac hits the newsstands on Tuesday saying a study of solar activity and corresponding records on ocean temperatures and climate point to a cooler, not warmer, climate, for perhaps the next half century.
"We at the Almanac are among those who believe that sunspot cycles and their effects on oceans correlate with climate changes," writes meteorologist and climatologist Joseph D'Aleo. "Studying these and other factor suggests that cold, not warm, climate may be our future."
It remains to be seen, said Editor-in-Chief Jud Hale, whether the human impact on global temperatures will cancel out or override any cooling trend.
"We say that if human beings were not contributing to global warming, it would become real cold in the next 50 years," Hale said.
For the near future, the Almanac predicts most of the country will be colder than normal in the coming winter, with heavy snow from the Ozarks into southern New England. Snow also is forecast for northern Texas, with a warmer than usual winter in the northern Plains.
Almanac believers will prepare for a hot summer in much of the nation's midsection, continuing drought conditions there and wild fire conditions in parts of California, with a cooler-than-normal season elsewhere. They'll also keep the car packed for the 2009 hurricane season, as the Alamanac predicts an active one, especially in Florida.
But Editor Janice Stillman said it's the winter foreasts that attract the most attention, especially this year, with much higher heating prices.
So, in line with the weather and economy forecasts, the Almanac includes information on using wood for heat: the best wood, how to build a fire in a fireplace, whether to use a wood stove and how to stay warm — all winter — with a single log.
Here's the secret, popularized in 1777: Throw a log out an upstairs window, dash down the stairs and outside, retrieve the log, dash upstairs, throw the log out the window and so on.
"Do that until you work up a sweat and you'll be warm all winter," said Stillman.
Last year, the Almanac correctly predicted "above-normal" snowfall in the Northeast — an understatement — and below-normal snowfall in the mid-Atlantic states.
New Hampshire, home of the Almanac, saw the most snow in 134 years and missed an all-time record by 2.6 inches.
Established in 1792, the Old Farmer's Almanac is North America's oldest continuously published periodical. The little yellow magazine still comes with the hole in the corner so it can hang in outhouses.
Boasting 18.5 million readers, this year's edition contains traditional tips on gardening and astronomical information and tide charts so accurate the government considered banning them during World War II, fearing they would help German spies.
The Old Farmer's Almanac is not to be confused with the Maine-based Farmer's Almanac, published "only" since 1818."

  31. Tonight SOME (not all) CNN commentators were frighteningly misquoting and mischaracterizing Sarah Palin on foreign policy.

    1. They asked her if she thought it necessary for the USA "to go to war against Russia over Georgia.

    2. Her answer was reasoned:
    A. She thought BOTH Russia and Georgia should be allowed to join NATO.
    B. IF Georgia were a member of NATO (which it is not) and it were attacked, there would be a NATO treaty obligation to defend Georgia.

    C. She would like to see sanctions such as economic sanctions tried before resorting to war of any type.

From this reasoned answer posed to a hypothetical given her by the ABC interviewer who was clearly trying to trip her up on her religion (thought there was supposed to be no religious test for public office) and her foreign policy, commentators went off and yelled 'SARAH PALIN CALLS FOR WAR ON RUSSIA.'

    a COMPLETE MISCHARACTERIZATION.

Sarah Palin: YOU GO GIRL! They hate you that much, you must be doing something very right~

    Hi Constance,

You are right. Sarah Palin is being viciously misrepresented.

I saw the actual interview with Charles Gibson on the national ABC News at 6:30P.M.

For the record, here is an excerpt from the ABC transcript containing Sarah Palin's exact words regarding the hypothetical scenario suggested by Gibson:
    _________________________________

    Sarah Palin on Russia:

"We cannot repeat the Cold War. We are thankful that, under Reagan, we won the Cold War, without a shot fired, also. We've learned lessons from that in our relationship with Russia, previously the Soviet Union.

We will not repeat a Cold War. We must have good relationship with our allies, pressuring, also, helping us to remind Russia that it's in their benefit, also, a mutually beneficial relationship for us all to be getting along.

GIBSON: Would you favor putting Georgia and Ukraine in NATO?

PALIN: Ukraine, definitely, yes. Yes, and Georgia.

GIBSON: Because Putin has said he would not tolerate NATO incursion into the Caucasus.

PALIN: Well, you know, the Rose Revolution, the Orange Revolution, those actions have showed us that those democratic nations, I believe, deserve to be in NATO.

Putin thinks otherwise. Obviously, he thinks otherwise, but...

GIBSON: And under the NATO treaty, wouldn't we then have to go to war if Russia went into Georgia?

PALIN: Perhaps so. I mean, that is the agreement when you are a NATO ally, is if another country is attacked, you're going to be expected to be called upon and help.

But NATO, I think, should include Ukraine, definitely, at this point and I think that we need to -- especially with new leadership coming in on January 20, being sworn on, on either ticket, we have got to make sure that we strengthen our allies, our ties with each one of those NATO members.

We have got to make sure that that is the group that can be counted upon to defend one another in a very dangerous world today.

GIBSON: And you think it would be worth it to the United States, Georgia is worth it to the United States to go to war if Russia were to invade.

PALIN: What I think is that smaller democratic countries that are invaded by a larger power is something for us to be vigilant against. We have got to be cognizant of what the consequences are if a larger power is able to take over smaller democratic countries.

And we have got to be vigilant. We have got to show the support, in this case, for Georgia. The support that we can show is economic sanctions perhaps against Russia, if this is what it leads to.

It doesn't have to lead to war and it doesn't have to lead, as I said, to a Cold War, but economic sanctions, diplomatic pressure, again, counting on our allies to help us do that in this mission of keeping our eye on Russia and Putin and some of his desire to control and to control much more than smaller democratic countries.

His mission, if it is to control energy supplies, also, coming from and through Russia, that's a dangerous position for our world to be in, if we were to allow that to happen......

Bottom line - the Democrats are panicking and nearly foaming at the mouth over the fact that McCain's campaign has been turned upside down since he chose Sarah for his VP running mate and they are terrified that McCain may actually take the election away from Obama!!!

Therefore, they are desperate to try to destroy her any way they can, and they have less than 60 days in which to do it.

Knowing the New Age plan of pitting the target groups of Jews, Christians, and Moslems against each other to cause a conflagration which will result in the New Agers being the phoenix bird to arise from our ashes, I will confess to concern over parts of Sarah Palin's interview: the perception of what she perceived as "the Bush Doctrine." The "Bush Doctrine" is PRE-EMPTIVE WAR. She, like most of the public, did not perceive it that way, but she did, to my concern say that we had to "defeat extremism" (she specifically mentioned extremist Islam). My concern is THIS: The Alliance of Civilizations Plans (and yes, the Bush Administration is in on it) call for defeating "EXTREMISM" globally -- the define 'evangelical Christianity' as EXTREMISM that could LEAD to terrorism.

Unfortunately many speakers presented in to many of our churches, including, no doubt, Sarah Palin's very fine Assembly of God Church in Wasilla, Alaska where she is a faithful member of the congregation, have helped fan flames on this scenario, most with no clue that we are part of the "extremism" to be eliminated.

    Constance,

It is my opinion that Russia is not doing anything that the U.S. is not doing in their part of the world. I am very pro-U.S., but when it's obvious that "protecting U.S. interests" means protecting politician's and businesses investments I get cynical. Looking back in recent history, In my opinion, the only reason why other countries haven't "stood up" to the U.S. is because we were very strong militarily. I'm not so sure anymore. We might have "advanced" weapons, but those are not the only weapons of destruction. "Nukes" are being made by all advancing countries. Russia might have lost the Cold War, but is our government so naive to think that they would loose again, or even be afraid to attack? If a country such as Russia attacks, I believe they're not going to fire one off and see our reaction. I think it will be with full force with the intention of complete obliteration. I'm also suprised countries haven't kicked out "ambassadors" earlier. Between Michael Levine's books and also Confessions Of An Economic Hitman, we can conclude that our government has been on a bully course for far too long.

I think we're close and need to trim our lamps and have them full of oil.

    ______________________________

We have to be careful of words used by the media for the sake of spin.

The term "teaming up" could be taken to imply that the Pope is merely prepared to "wink" at Sarkozy's lifestyle and approves of his politics.

Let me make it clear that I am only speaking for my own Church here. I try to keep my nose out of criticizing other denomnations unless it directly effects mine.

I can't pretend to read Pope Benedict XVI's mind, but from my Catholic perspective, given the state of the Catholic Church in France described in the article - Sarkozy included - it sounds to me like the Pope is trying to reconcile the "lost sheep."

Pope Benedict XVI is certainly not going to succeed at this vis a vis the spiritual equivalent of kicking Sarkozy in the shins - something the younger generation may have feared that Pope Benedict XVI would do given the fact that he is German born (no love lost between the Germans and the French) and was nicknamed "PanzerKardinal" when he headed the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

Monsignor André Vingt-Trois, the Archbishop of Paris sounds a tad clueless to me.

It would take too long to go into the historical details here, but the decline of the Catholic faith in France is indeed partly due to prelates who have betrayed the Church and allowed their lust for power to trump any true vocation they may have had to serve Christ.

Unfortunately, this situation was one "context" in which so-called "Liberation Theology" was peddled at the grass roots level by dissenting and/or apostate Catholics.

It is also known as "Alinskyan Organizing" after radical Saul Alinsky, a disciple of Antonio Gramsci and founder of the Industrial Areas Foundation.

The following is an excerpt from a commentary that was submitted to the Catholic Bishops of the United States as a response to recently proposed changes in the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) guidelines.
    ____________________________

"III. Founding of the Industrial Areas Foundation:

    1. The IAF was founded by organizer Saul Alinsky. Saul Alinsky wrote two books outlining his organizational principles and strategies: Reveille for Radicals and Rules for Radicals.

    · Rules for Radicals opens with a quote about Lucifer, written by Saul Alinsky: "Lest we forget at least an over-the shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins-or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom - Lucifer."

    · In Rules for Radicals, Alinsky says: "Here I propose to present an arrangement of certain facts and general concepts of change, a step toward a science of revolution." He builds on the tactical principles of Machiavelli: "The Prince was written by Machiavelli for the Haves on how to hold power. Rules for Radicals is written for the Have-Nots on how to take it away."

    · Rules for Radicals is concerned with the acquisition of power: "My aim here is to suggest how to organize for power: how to get it and how to use it." This is not to be done through assistance to the poor, nor even by organizing the poor to demand assistance: "…[E]ven if all the low-income parts of our population were organized…it would not be powerful enough to get significant, basic, needed changes."

Alinsky advises the organizer to target the middle class, rather than the poor: "Organization for action will now and in the decade ahead center upon America's white middle class. That is where the power is." Alinsky is interested in the middle class solely for its usefulness: "Our rebels have contemptuously rejected the values and way of life of the middle class. They have stigmatized it as materialistic, decadent, bourgeois, degenerate, imperialistic, war-mongering, brutalized and corrupt. They are right; but we must begin from where we are if we are to build power for change, and the power and the people are in the middle class majority."...read more....

    _______________________________

VIII. The Industrial Areas Foundation Introduces Theological Distortions to Catholic Parishes.

    1. Alinskyian organizing, like liberation theology, rejects objective or fixed truth. Charles Curran writes: "There are many similarities between Alinsky's community organization approach and liberation theology….An important similarity concerns the basic understanding of sociology and epistemology. Liberation theology rightly reacts against a value-free sociology with its claim of arriving at totally objective truth and it's emphasis on quantitative analysis. A value-free approach by its very nature tends to identify with and reinforce the status quo. Knowledge is not as objective and independent of human involvement as a classical understanding once thought. The sociology of knowledge reminds us that all knowledge is situated and subject to prejudice. One must approach existing realities and thought patterns with ideological suspicion….There is no dispassionate objectivity. Rationalization is an important human reality with which any organizer must come to grips."
    2. Alinskyian organizing, like liberation theology, is grounded on a Marxist class analysis. "The option for the poor has become very central in both the praxis and theory of liberation theology. This same option for the poor, especially understood in terms of the powerless, characterizes the Alinsky method of organization. Alinsky definitely sides with the powerless - the have-nots - in their struggle."
    3. Alinskyian organizing, like liberation theology, uses the technique of "popular education" (conscientization) to change values. Curran writes: Liberation theology gives great importance to Paulo Friar's pedagogy of the oppressed. In the process called 'conscientization,' through an unalienating and liberating cultural action, the oppressed person perceives and modifies one's relationship to the world….Although Alinsky does not use the word 'conscientization,' there is no doubt that such a process is the cornerstone of his method….The people must learn that through their power they can bring about change. Raising consciousness is a part of Alinsky's overarching commitment to popular education."
    4. The technique of "popular education" (conscientization" or values clarification) change the values of its target and replace them with the values of the organizer. A New Republic article states: "…[The] IAF seeks to teach groups like Mexican/Americans of San Antonio to build on and then transcend natural ties of family and ethnicity" Another writer says: "Cortes [head organizer for IAF, SW region] knew that Mexican parents willingly sacrificed for their children - and often for their church. By talking about family values, could you motivate and organize people to act politically in their own genuine self-interest?...the new organization had to reach into the heart...The idea of protecting and enhancing families might make that possible."
The implication of these passages is that the religious and family values of Catholics are used to spark a conversation between them and the IAF. The IAF then uses the relationship built from those values to introduce another set of values - those of the IAF. Harry Boyte writes: "In St. Timothy's Church [in San Antonio], for instance, new catechisms connected biblical and Mexican historical and cultural themes with the current issues COPS [the IAF local] was working on….From such experiences, the [the IAF] developed an ongoing process of community and parish renewal."
    5. Alinskyian organizing encourages small base communities. Harold McDougall writes about the Baltimore IAF, BUILD (Baltimoreans United in Leadership Development). Participating pastors in the Baltimore IAF , he reports, are networked together in a "peer group, sharing experiences….They are trying to raise consensus-oriented decision-making models for BUILD as a whole on the foundation of their peer relationships. Some are beginning to see the need to share power within their own churches…"
McDougall also describes the small base communities which, at the time of his writing (1993 and earlier), BUILD was planning. "…[T]hey will also need something more: participation in small, intimate 'base communities,' peer groups of a dozen or two dozen people which can evaluate the day's struggles….This kind of personal, intimate contact with trusted others is a necessary building block for Harry Boyte's 'third way' of citizen engagement….Families are not large or diverse enough to perform such a function. Churches are too large. The contact must take place in a new, smaller form of association in some ways similar to the social units liberation theologians in Latin America have called comunidades eclesiales de base, which translates as 'ecclesiastical base communities,' or simply 'Christian base communities.'" ..read entire article.....

Actually the Bible never says "666" is the mark of the Beast. It says "666" is the number of a man. The mark of the Beast is a separate thing, though they will be correlated in some manner in the end. Very common mistake though, for people to say the mark of the beast = 666.

  59. Just found this explanation -- frightening:

    http://www.bilderberg.org/shengen.htm

    Electronic ID's

For the effective operation of the Schengen Information System(SIS) the use of electronic ID's is needed. Because only with these the immediate and easy access to the information for each citizen is possible.

The electronic ID's have two serious "advantages" for the information system:

    * The first "advantage" is the ability of the new ID to provide thousands of bits of information on its owner. This information will be encrypted in a proper medium and will be possible to be read from a computer or some other electronic device.

    * The second "advantage" is the use of one unified coded number for each citizen. This unified number will be useful for the crossing and recovery of information. The ability of crossing information with the use of one unified number is the most powerful ability of the electronic Schengen Information System. One question is aroused: "aren't we already on file?", "Don't they know everything about us the organisations that hold electronic database files? ".The crossing of all these data is that what is added in the new information system. This means that collecting from many files (police, services, clubs, hospitals) will be possible so that a "profile" of the person is being made, and as much possible clear view of the person's principles, attitude and activities.

Regarding the collection of private character information the concept of coincidence remains undefined. The time, the motives, the purpose and the condition under somebody did something is diverse and should taken into account.

Another use do have the information regarding the religious or political action of a person in the files of a club and another use get the files in the hands of a foreign religious medium or the employers or the police. The categorisation of the citizens according their beliefs is accommodated!

The problem that exists in this remarkable technology is the three limit posts that are in those types of lined bar-codes and that correspond to the numbers 6-6-6. They are three limit posts that guide the scanner. The two at the edges are named guard bars and the central one central pattern. Special studies have shown that these three limit posts indeed show the image of 666. And we ask:

    * Why was there placed a central axis since it could be recognised by two safety bars or with none as it happens in the bar code Interleaved 2 or 5 type that contains 40 numbers but does not need any limit posts ?

    * Why is it separated from the limit posts in 6 digit levels?

    * Why in EAN-13 the first digit of the country code (for Greece 520) is placed outside the symbols? Maybe in order not to destroy the 6 digit levels between the 666 ?

    * Why so much insistence on the number 666 since there exist technical possibilities for the use of another arithmetic combination? This reminds us the computer manufacturing company Apple that sold the first 299 P.C. Apple I computers at 666.666 dollars (Wall Street Journal 11-11-81).

Another confirmation of the deliberate use of this number is the fact that there exist perspectives that this marking will be done with Forehead or Hand techniques in order to solve problems of stealing the card. Mr. Klotsonis -a legal counsellor of the European Committee that is based in Luxembourg-told us that at the primary discussion for the Schengen Agreement it had been proposed that the citizens would be marked on the hand or the forehead. This proposal had been done and perhaps is reconsidered.

But even if the number or the bar code is not visible there exist many possibilities that this number 666 is placed invisibly into a magnetic strip (that exists in many todays cards) or in SMD microchips as these that are being used in phone cards and other smart cards.Something similar has happen in the USA in 1980 when some citizens of USA returned their credit cards because in them existed the number 666 as a prefix. It was said to them that after 1982 it won't exist. Indeed it disappeared from the one side of the credit card but was placed, invisibly to the human eye, in the magnetic strip that was on the back side and was read only by the computer.

    Conclusion

The Schengen treaty with its limitless protectionism that enforces converts Europe into a police state based on the control and suspiciousness characterising and charging citizens and their intentions.

  60. Dear Susanna,

Having admired Cardinal Ratzinger's work on the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith for years, I certainly hope your interpretation is correct. On the other hand, the actions of appointing Bishop (now Cardinal) Levada to head that job when Levada was so openly consorting with the United Religions / Alliance of Civilizations crowd, including using interreligious (New Age) folk in the form of URI in his consistory gave me real pause. I was present in a Detroit area audience when Fr. Fessio spoke in 2007. In answer to a question as to what he thought of the appointment, Fr. Fessio asked first if the recording equipment was off and then blurted out, "I think he made a mistake."

To my horror, a local Catholic station endangered Fr. Fessio by playing what he had been assured was off the record, thus letting the cat out of the bag.

I had trouble understanding that -- I had trouble understanding his Australian references to "the New Age" using the language in a positive sense, something at least some powerful New Agers were likely to take serious aid and comfort from . . .

  63. ALSO FROM THOSE DILIGENT GREEK ORTHODOX SCHENGEN PROTESTERS:

    http://www.bilderberg.org/shengen.htm

    Conclusion

The Schengen treaty with its limitless protectionism that enforces converts Europe into a police state based on the control and suspiciousness characterising and charging citizens and their intentions.

    * The electronic Schengen Information System (SIS) becomes a powerful centre of information processing and provision and enforces a regime of "electronic dictatorship" and hard totalitarianism.

    * The ability of collection and processing information on a European range, this enormous electronic filing system, nullifies the human factor degrading the citizen into a simple information object, abandoned to the estimations and the will of those who collect them.

    * The connection of the treaty with the emission of new electronic ID's enhances the danger of a central and universal control. Each citizen will carry evidence about its beliefs and actions and these will be written on the new ID's.

    * The existence of the number 666, number of the "beast" of the Apocalypse, on them proves the connection of this control system with the impeding global dominion of the Antichrist.

For those reasons the Orthodox Christians, as free citizens of this country, declare flatly our opposition to the validation from our country of the Schengen treaty and the emission of electronic ID's.

    ReplyDelete
  64. WHAT THE GREEK ORTHODOX ARE REQUESTING VIS A VIS THE SCHENGEN SYSTEM:

    http://www.bilderberg.org/shengen.htm

    We request:

    * The immediate recall of the validation of the treaty from the Hellenic parliament.

    * The immediate recall of the law 2472/1997 for the supposed "protection of the citizen from private data processing"

    * The cancelling of the emission of electronic ID's and especially of those with the number 666.

    * The preservation of the old ID's.

    * The correct and full informing of the Hellenic (Greek) people for those topics.

    * The carrying out of a referendum in order that the Hellenic people itself decide about such a vital subject.

We want to make clear that if the government despite the intense reactions of the people proceeds to the operation of its decisions it will find us opponents as conscience objectors. We deny flatly taking the new electronic ID's if they contain the number 666 either another that will serve the same illiberal plans of the Schengen treaty.

The use of the number 666 in the new electronic ID's constitutes the last step before the mark in the hand or the forehead. Therefore receiving them from Christians means denial of Jesus Christ and accession to the front of Satan and spiritual death.

But even with the use of another number except of 666 (for example 444,858 etc.) we deny taking them because those ID's enter us in a regime illiberal, inhuman, dictatorial, antidemocratic and totalitarian. They confiscate us to a powerful economic rule and control system and guide us political and spiritual captives to a electronic dictatorship. They disaffect the national, cultural structure by introducing principles and ideas foreign to our long tradition corroding our Hellenic-Christian Orthodox substance and undermining our ecclesiastic consciousness.

    Constance,

I appreciate your comment and I understand exactly what you are saying.

But you will have to forgive me for being a tad ruthless in condemning the infiltration of my
Church by radical secularists of every stripe.

I know what it is like to be invited to attend a "Catholic" Bible study only to get there and listen to the priest leading the "study group" - a priest I liked and whom I thought was truly Catholic - begin the Bible study by singing Hans Kung's praises. (Needless to say it was the first and last time I attended that particular Bible study!)

We have plenty of the latest versions of the old "peace and justice" groups around here as well.

What gets my Irish up is when people who pontificate most about "peace and justice" are too busy pontificating to do things like lifting a finger to help a needy, elderly next door neighbor or help fill the food baskets at all the doorways of the churches here with non-perishable food to be collected by our local Food Pantry that serves the needy people here.

This is because Marxism and its left-wing kissin' cousins isn't about "sharing the wealth." Marxism is about "controlling the wealth" and "redistributing the wealth" only to those who show themselves willing to toe the party line.

With regard to the radical leftist ringleaders of much of the community organizing that has taken place, they seem to have had a special interest in targeting Catholics for recruitment vis a vis "Liberation Theology" - even though it has not always been explicitly so-called due to the condemnation of many of its tendencies by the Vatican.

When religion is not a factor, these radicals go after the selfless people in any given community and deploy whatever good they do in the service of their own agenda, which is power and control.

And that was the whole point of Alinsky's strategy in the beginning.....namely, that
most of the community organizers you and others met should be among the finest people you have ever met.....much in the same way that certain Freemasons I've met have been among the finest people I have ever known.

    And there is the rub.

At the end of the day this doesn't mean that I agree with the true (stealth) objectives of Freemasonry any more than you would agree with the true (stealth) objectives of Alinskyan organizing.

It simply means that the selfless, good, honest, decent Freemasons and community organizers we both happened to know were light years better than the systems to which they adhered and did much more for Freemasonry and left wing radical groups and causes than either ever did for them in terms of making both look "innocent" and "respectable."

Like many Blue Lodge Masons, I am sure that many community organizers have often been clueless with regard to the true objectives of those who ordered their recruitment..... objectives that have all too often been disguised as a "concern for the oppressed, the poor and the downtrodden".......a disguise that would attract good, selfless people who have been cynically referred to by many of these same radicals as "useful idiots."

Again, this doesn't mean that these so-called "useful idiots" are evil. It simply means that they are often clueless.

    Constance,

    Regarding Levada'a appointment.

There are a lot of other appointments besides the appointment of Levada that I think may have been "a mistake" as well.

We must not forget that there have been occasions where Popes have been outright lied to or kept in the dark about certain matters - including the inadvisability of promoting certain priests or prelates.

Case in point...the way in which the late Father Robert Drinan, S.J. deceived his religious superiors and the Pope in order to continue to be a member of the Massachusetts state legislature in violation of Canon Law.

It was Pope John Paul II who finally ordered him to either leave the Massachusetts legislature or leave the Jesuit Order.

Another was now-retired Bishop Geoffrey Robinson of Sidney Australia.
    _____________________________

"Supported by dozens of other Sydney priests back in 1982, when then-Father Robinson was being widely touted as a future bishop, Fr Purcell repeatedly tried to warn Vatican authorities that Fr Robinson was a public dissenter from Church doctrine prohibiting divorced and remarried Catholics from receiving Communion.

Unfortunately, the Pro-Nuncio, Archbishop Luigi Barbarito, refused to forward these grave concerns to Rome.

Sure enough, Fr Robinson was ordained a bishop in early 1984. About a month later, Fr Purcell learned that his own registered airmail letter of December 1982 direct to the then-Cardinal Ratzinger, documenting the Sydney priest's flagrant unorthodoxy, had mysteriously failed ever to reach His Eminence."

    _________________________________

Another thought that crosses my mind is that the Pope may have intended to "promote" Levada out of the hierarchy since Levada seems to have avoided getting into trouble since he was named head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

With regard to the Pope's use of the term "New Age," - and here I can only speculate - after Vatican II, a lot of priests took to growing beards, wearing sandals and looking generally seedy in an attempt to be "relevant."

Believe me. More often than not, these so-called "hippy priests" as they were called, came across as anything BUT "relevant."

In fact, many times they only succeeded in getting themselves laughed at.

I wouldn't say that this is what Pope Benedict XVI is doing, but back then, there was always this vague idea in my own mind that these "hippy priests" were trying to draw attention away from the Gospels and to themselves.

Even though every word uttered by the Pope is not to be taken as an "ex cathedra" proclamation, I would agree that Pope Benedict needs to weigh his words carefully for the very reason you suggest - that it might be "something at least some powerful New Agers were likely to take serious aid and comfort from . . . "

To that I would add - especially the powerful New Agers who have infiltrated the Catholic Church!

And make no mistake, Constance,I have NO USE for apostates of his ilk.

If he hasn't been declared excommunicated, it is probably for the simple reason that he is not a bishop and cannot ordain more priests of his persuasion......although if he ever thanks God for anything, he should thank God that I am not the Pope!

People like Kung have done a great deal of damage to the Catholic Church.

What really makes me want to vomit is the way Kung goes into his "victim rag" whenever he is criticized.....most ESPECIALLY when he was once described as "wearing the hat of Arius!"

Drinan was much higher politically than the Massachusetts legislature. He served several Congressional terms in Washington. I was introduced to him by an Indiana congressman who was a family friend back in the early 1970s. He was an attorney and was active with the American Bar Association. I used to see him at ABA events and we occasionally chatted (I was extremely active in the ABA before discovering the New Age Movement which made everything before in my life seem totally trivial). I saw him at an ABA event just after Pope John Paul II ordered the religious to give up their elective political seats. He seemed deeply saddened, but said he was complying.

Drinan bears a heavy responsibility for turning the Democratic Party into the "party of abortion" vis a vis his bogus "personally opposed but" jive which has been used by other "Catholic in name only" politicians to justify voting in favor of abortion and other anti-life legislation.

I have posted the following article before, but here it is again in case you haven't seen it.

When Phil Lawler was still the editor, the article appeared in the July, 1996 issue of the Catholic World Report which is published by Ignatius Press.

Father Fessio, as you know, is head of Ignatius Press and has long been a priest whom I admire and respect - especially in light of his altercations with the illustrious Father Privett of San Francisco University.

Robinson's talk at SFU was sponsored by Voice of the Faithful which has ties to Call to Action and others who hold radical views that are not in line with Church teaching - including Leonard Swidler who was among those invited to speak at Voice of the Faithful's national convention in Boston.

"VOICE OF THE FAITHFUL" STOPS CLAIMING DOCTRINAL FIDELITY

IS VOICE OF THE FAITHFUL UNFAITHFUL TO CATHOLIC PRINCIPLES?

"..... C. J. Doyle noted that the list of invited speakers was comprised of prominent Catholic dissenters, including proponents of women's ordination, opponents of Catholic sexual ethics, and Debra Haffner, former Director of Counseling, Education, and Public Affairs for Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington.

He characterized the conference's program as "the clearest signal yet received of the organization's lack of Catholic integrity and radical infidelity to Church teaching."

"What we are witnessing here today," said Doyle, is the cynical exploitation of a tragedy by dissidents with an agenda. When an organization which purports to be Catholic has a speaker affiliated with Planned Parenthood, it tells us all we need to know about its alleged Catholic credentials. The presence of Debra Haffner, along with representatives of the Women's Ordination Conference, CORPUS, and Call to Action makes a mockery of its pretensions to be Catholic.

"It is grotesque hypocrisy for an organization which claims to be Catholic to promote the views of those who reject Catholic doctrine and repudiate Christian morality. These adversaries of the Papacy and Catholic tradition are seeking the admission of women, married men and active homosexuals to the priesthood, the repeal of Catholic moral prohibitions against abortion, contraception, homosexuality, and divorce, and in some cases, the separation of the Catholic Church in America from Rome. As an organization marketing itself as Catholic, Voice of the Faithful is engaged in consumer fraud.".......

Spot on with regard to the "n" missing from Swidler's name.

Just wanted to add that as a lawyer, you would probably find Leonard Swidler's book KUNG IN CONFLICT a total gas.

The book which is basically a compilation of letters which went back and forth between Kung and the Vatican interspersed with Swidlers Kung-friendly commentaries shows how "Artful Dodger" Kung spent oodles of time evading direct questions by church authorities about what he actually believes by whining about not being given the ecclesiastical equivalent of "due process".....which was a total CROCK since the Vatican bent over backwards to give Kung the opportunity to explain himself.

    COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS
My experience with seeing the dialectic experience in action numerous times says that anyone who would voluntarily manipulate inexperienced community members to pretend to reach certain goals as if they were the result of concensus is darned morally sick.

I wrote this to an Alinsky supporter recently:
Let me tell you what I ran into with the IAF people here in Chicago. I like to see firsthand what is happening. I don't want to judge just by what others tell me. (http://www.industrialareasfoundation.org/ is the organization founded by Alinsky. Hillary and Obama follow its procedures.)

Well the IAF people were having a big push here in Chicago to raise money for the "poor community." United Power was the organizing name.

    http://www.nhi.org/online/issues/101/lenz.html

They ran a series of organizing meetings which I went to when I could. After all, they were open to the public. I went and just observed, not part of any opposition group. Frankly I didn't know anyone who cared enough to see what was happening. One lady who had been following leftist activity told me not to bother. They would raise the money and disappear. In the long run she was right.

The groups were always manipulated by the group dialectics process. I've seen this in operation in a lot of places, so I knew what to expect. Very, very slick. No respect for the intelligence of the audience who are just seen as a bunch of suckers led to predetermined goals.

United Power was going to manipulate both sides, the grateful poor and those with money to spare, such as the Jewish Federation, the former by feigned sympathy and the latter by compliments and awards.

The big finale was the meeting at the huge University of Illinois at Chicago pavilion where busloads of people were brought in to fill the audience and the financial suckers were put on stage and praised for their pledges.

Nothing ever came of United Power. I don't know how much money they collected.

An interesting note. I like to see things in person. IAF's headquarters were given as an address on Kinzie Street in Chicago on all of their literature. I worked in Chicago's Loop and could walk there during my lunch hour. So I called and asked if they were open. Someone answered and discouraged me from coming up, saying they would put a brochure in the mail. I said I could just come and pick it up. No stay away. This made me want to se the place even more. So I walked up and found it was in a building that was part of the Merchandise Mart community. Small old buildings housing antique stores, etc. To go up to whatever floor it was, one had to ring a bell in the very small lobby and the elevator would be sent down. I rang. There was no answer. I waited until someone was going up and entered the elevator.

What I found was that IAF's address was a mail drop. There was a big window, like a storefront window that made the entire office open to whoever looked. There were a few scattered chairs and nothing else. A young woman saw me, but before she could question how I got up to that floor I went back in the elevator. That address was the only one given and had been used for months.

    http://uscatholic.org/church/2008/07/wherever-two-or-three-thousand-are-gathered
Gamaliel's office was a regular office with working people, desks, file cabinets. A man answered my questions. If I remember correctly, Gamaliel was working with IAF.

One of the United Power organizing meeting was held in the south suburbs and was attended mainly by busloads of Afro-Americans. The antisemitism was blatant.

I saw the technique used in schools and meeting where regional government was promoted.

While the term "community organizer" sounds neutral, the techniques used by most of these groups are techniques studied and planned to bypass any real community involvement. They couldn't care less what the community members want. They know what they want and use community members to get it.

  83. Community organizers sponsored by the Archdiocese of Detroit came into a middle class neighborhood in Detroit in 1968 when the community was being shell shocked by real estate speculators, block busters, and a crime wave. This was not too long after the Detroit 1967 riots. This was how they went about it -- it was not all bad -- but in retrospect, I can see what was happening.

    1. The neighborhood was leafleted with an invitation to "an important meeting to discuss priorities and concerns."

    2. Most of the talking at the meeting were neighors / community members airing real concerns.

    3. Results of sheets passed that evening were tallied and put on a large blackboard.

    4. Community members who wanted to work on the problems were invited to volunteer. I did.

    5. Existing resources were explored, i.e. the strong block clubs.

    6. A steering committee was formed to marshall resources and explore solutions to problems.

    7. Crime was identified as chief worry. A Chicago model of neighborhood watch groups was suggested.

    8. We organized the Northwest Community Organization.

Now, gang, it wasn't all bad. Looking back and now knowing what i know about what the New Agers hoped to bring down in the 70s and 80s, and knowing now what I know about Cardinal Dearden's agenda, I can see where it was expected to head.

BUT, when I discovered the New Age Movement, I was able to use these same networks to inform many people in Detroit of what was happening. Many of these people encouraged and supported me in those crucial incubator days when I was trying to sound alarms on what was transpiring.

I was also saddened to see faces I had met along the way in that process at the Benjamin Creme lecture on November 4, 1981. I was, however, still able to communicate with them. Some we did manage to break those hypnotic spells.

I have very mixed feelings on the process. This is a case where I can see both sides of the issue. There were devastating community problems. People got together shared information, shared resources, worked together on neighborhood projects -- not all bad -- easily manipulated. On the other hand, many people gained education and sophistication in these processes and as a result were less easily manipulated.

It certainly helped me understand what I was clearly seeing after I had identified the New Age Movement and saw how these networks were being used in its proliferation.
