THE HI-JACKING OF EVANGELICALISM - PART V

THE HI-JACKING OF EVANGELICALISM - PART V – THEOSOPHICAL SCHEMING AND EARLIER PRAYER BREAKFAST NETWORK STAGES

Author’s Notes: this was originally to be a four part series. Parts I and II dealt with modern “merging and blending” of Washington’s “Fellowship Foundation” and Paul N. Temple’s “Institute of Noetic Sciences.” Barbara Marx Hubbard said in her 1988 Seattle Unity Temple speech that “now all the resonating core groups with outwardly different purposes are merging and blending and coming together to do The One Work.” It was clear that she was working closely with both Paul Temple and the Fellowship Foundation, both groups of which he had and continues to successfully bridge.

The problems, however, are much older. They are clearly multi-generational. According to the Billy Graham Center archives, Paul Temple’s own involvement with Abraham Vereide dated back to 1944. Meetings of the group which included clear proponents of “We are gods” (Frank Laubach) date back earlier to 1943 and perhaps even earlier.

Developing this series, I now know subject is clearly too vast to be easily synopsized in only four relatively short articles that the NewswithViews publisher and I originally discussed. I was going to focus solely on the work of “the twelve” this article, but in the drafting process realized that to understand these twelve, one had to understand developments that preceded them. Starting with Madame Blavatsky’s pre-death pronouncement that they were to prepare the world to receive a new “Christ” clear preparation went forth in a deliberate manner. Only God knows the intensity, motivations and commitment of those intentionally or inadvertently helping to implement the Theosophical agenda, but an agenda there clearly was and clearly there were professed Christians helping even from the beginning who should have known better, particularly considering their claimed
levels of theological sophistication.

EARLY THEOSOPHICAL PLANNING

Madame Blavatsky, Colonel Olcott, and William L. Q. Judge organized their “Theosophical Society” in New York City in the Year of Our Lord 1875. The first of this trio was a Russian ex-patriate adventuress. The two gentlemen were American lawyers. Olcott was reportedly a Civil War hero who had played a leading role in the investigation of the Lincoln murders. The purpose of the society was supposedly to study comparative religions. The occult (hidden) purpose was much deeper. Madame Helena Petrovna Blavatsky revealed to her followers before her death what that purpose was: to prepare the world to receive a new expected “messiah” by the name of “Maitreya.” “Maitreya” was also the name the Buddhists gave to their expected reincarnation of Buddha.

Annie Besant, the ex-wife of an Anglican clergyman took Blavatsky’s charge very seriously. She led “The First Annual Congress of the Federation of European Sections of the Theosophical Society. It was held in Amsterdam from June 19th through 21st, 1904. I am fortunate to own an original edition of its published proceedings. “FEDERATION OF EUROPEAN SECTIONS OF THE THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY: TRANSACTIONS FIRST ANNUAL CONGRESS: AMSTERDAM 1906." I have had the book which I purchased back in the 1980s for the even then outrageous price of $95.00. It was marked “rare.” It is an indispensable volume in my research library.

Some names at that conference are still easily recognizable today. Annie Besant, Rudolf Steiner (Waldorf / Steiner Schools / eurythymy / biodynamic farming); A. R. Orage (Social Credit / “The New Age”) were among the more prominent in attendance whose recognition has survived through modern history.

The two most significant articles from my perspective are the papers presented to that congress by a name less known to us, but obviously from its fruits, productive to the Theosophical Movement: I. HOOPER.

Hooper’s articles found respectively at pages 223 and 371 of that book are entitled:

· “The Reconstruction of Beliefs”
· “The Theosophical Society and the Faith to Come”

Hooper said beliefs fell into three stages: (1) universal acceptance; (2) total disbelief; and (3) reconstruction. The job of the Theosophical Society, concluded Hooper in the “Reconstruction” portion of those 1904 presentations was to “synthesize differing beliefs and to reconstruct same. The forms of the “reconstruction” would be dealt with in this chapter about “the Faith to Come.” These days the Theosophists and their fellow New Age travelers usually call that “the New World Religion.”

Hooper told his fellow Theosophists that they should downplay “obvious theosophical propaganda. (p. 373) Theosophists were to share in the following work to achieve their aims:

“International co-operation, political work, social movements of every kind,
religious and mystical cults, the strange reconstructive impulses of
long-sleeping national and racial life
[to be gruesomely acted out in the 1930s
and 1940s by German and other eugenic disciples of Theosophical lore, as was
Hitler himself!]

Those going forth from theosophy to evangelize the world to that mindset were to carefully camouflage themselves in ways that would make George Bernard Shaw and his Pygmalion ([better known to us theatrically as MY FAIR LADY] seem as amateurs:

“We must learn to speak their language as one born thereto; easily, naturally seeing its beauty and its meaning. Not as one who translates laboriously from a tongue he loves better . . . but as one who knows that the [theosophical] truth can be uttered as perfectly and as sweetly as in the language which to him is the more familiar.

“In a word, we must not take with us the phrases of the Theosophical Society; we must not take its forms, but we must take its spirit and its life . . .”

In urging the switch and bait, Hooper intriguingly said:

“Sir Oliver Lodge has recently pleaded for a restatement or revision of
Christian doctrines; it is much needed. The work of destructive
criticism has paved the way; now the day has dawned of constructive
up-building.”
(p. 375)

How to do it? Hooper gave specifics:

“People in the Churches should be urged increasingly to learn that illumination
comes from within and that this life, which I call an independent inner life as
opposed to sacred rites and external teaching, should be led by all who can lead
it . . .”
(p. 378)

The foregoing should be carefully contemplated particularly in view of the writings of two who particularly bridged the occult and Christian world: Jacob Boehme (sometimes spelled “Bohme” or “the Blessed Behman (William Law) and Jacob Boehme’s English translator and disciple: William Law.

Probably the most pernicious teaching spread by disciples of William Law who was also Aldous Huxley’s favorite philosopher was that if one failed to go inside for wisdom, he was in a sense blaspheming the work of the Holy Spirit. Reliance on the Bible and traditional church creeds that proclaimed the One God, the virgin birth, the rising again, etc. were to be shed in favor of “the birth of Christ within.” Those familiar with Theosophical and Alice Bailey literature well know that one of the most prominent of the several “initiations” used to reach “godhood” was “Christ being born in the Cave of the Heart.”

It was a prominent disciple of both William Law and Norman Grubb who has disseminated this heresy. His name would shock so many that I dare not repeat it here. The wheat and the tares were go grow together until the time of the harvest and repeating this name at this time and place is more than certain to harm the wheat!

These were some of the same the teachings that obviously were tares sown in the bosom of the Prayer Breakfast Network. I will elaborate in my next article, part VI of this series of “the twelve” who were part of the original Washington, D.C. network. They formed camps with the name “Farthest Out,” wrote books with open themes of “we are gods” (“millions of gods” at that!), and called their allegedly Christian facilities “ashrams.” They allied themselves with and borrowed the concepts of Frank Buchman who had openly expressed admiration for Himmler and Hitler.

The most authoritative text on the prayer breakfast network, MODERN VIKING: the story of Abraham Vereide pioneer in Christian leadership, was written by an energetic and enthusiastic proponent of both William Law and Jacob Boehme: Norman Grubb.[1] Norman Grubb would work this side of the Atlantic as well as influence huge segments of the Missionary Movement worldwide. His brother, Sir Kenneth Grubb would work the other side of the Atlantic, also being active in the modern missionary movement, as well as being chief of British intelligence during World War II, be a primary organizer of the World Council of Churches, and co-found the International Institute of Strategic Studies, today a primary think tank for Javier Solana and his Western European Union confederates.

Next in series: Names of “the twelve,” Marian (Mrs. Aymar) Johnson, Calvary House, Camps Farthest Out, Frank Buchman, Dr. Frank Laubach together with his role in the establishment of the Meditation Room for the United Nations, and the role of this group in the initial founding of the United Nations as well as European Union structures. What was the role of “The Keswick Experience”?

The only way to explain a complex issue is to go back to the beginning and get all the little simple facts straight.
You've done that again Constance and again I say thank you.

The links of the previous article by Rudi- most of the links, anyway- didn't take me to anywhere but an error page, saying this page is no longer here, or something to that effect.
Anyway, I am impressed by the research in this latest article, and I will probably be trying to figure out who the unnamed person is, but I think I already know.

    HISTORY MEETS THE PRESENT
One of the top pieces of research and writings to date. I have had problems with an overemphasis on history with no relation to the present that we can use to show others what is occurring. Though I've tried, I've not at all been satisfied with my efforts. This piece changes that gives us a whole new start to work with.

    Congratulations.

    Dorothy--
Thanks for passing on the link to that story I emailed you. I went to do that last night and the computer froze up.

The radio show that I heard it on was Glenn Beck. If you are interested, you can read the transcript of what he said on the show here:

I know some may have issues with Mr. Beck because he is Mormon. But this is absolutely vital information. First, this is the first time I had even heard of it. Second, no one else is talking about it.

I heard Mr. Beck describing this (as you can read in the transcript above). It really sounded like something that you might see in one of those hokey end times movies on TBN or something.

  13. Re Tim LaHaye and Rev. Moon, just found this material on line by Bo Hi Pak:

    http://www.tparents.org/library/unification/books/tims2/tims2-45.htm

"One good example is Dr. Tim LaHaye's visit to Danbury. Dr. LaHaye is a very famous minister. On that day, it was snowing. He was coming from Washington, D.C., and his plane was an hour and a half late. It was the only flight that got out; everything else was canceled. So I met him at the airport and took him by car to Danbury, which normally takes an hour and a half. But that day it took three hours in the snow, and several times our car was dancing on the highway, very dangerous, so we really slowed down. Nobody else was on the road.

"During the drive, Dr. LaHaye said, "It is incredible what our government did to Reverend Moon, to confine Reverend Moon in this kind of place." When we got to Danbury, he met Father, who was wearing humble prison clothes. He held Father's hands and the first words Dr. LaHaye spoke were, "Reverend Moon, I apologize on behalf of my government." Mother saw that Dr. LaHaye's eyes were red and he was crying. What a beautiful union, a beautiful union of brothers, like Esau and Jacob. Father and Dr. LaHaye were embracing. Then Father said, "No, Dr. LaHaye, you have nothing to apologize for. It must be God's will, and God's will brought us together. You know, because I am in Danbury, you came all the way from California to meet me here. If I were in East Garden, you would not come there to see me. Now you came here. So you see, God works in mysterious ways.

"Another great victory took place over four days during a great seminar in Washington, D.C., from January 28 to January 31 for Christian ministers. From the 50 states, 300 ministers gathered together in Washington at the invitation of CAUSA International, which is known to the world as Reverend Moon's organization."

I hope you are feeling a little less confused and depressed.

If you honestly believe that the church you are currently attending is a good church (which you apparently do) - and if you believe that your pastor is honestly doing his very best to practice the Gospel message he preaches, then that is where you should stay regardless of what anybody else tells you that you "ought" to do.

Doesn't the Bible say "By their fruits you will know them?"
    Matthew 7:20

You are in a far better position to be able to know your own church by its fruits than those who merely pretend to know as they ignorantly proceed to undermine your faith with their grim "pronunciamentos."

  26. Susanna,

Thanks again, your comments are always so helpful. I always check actions and sermons in my church with, "By your fruits you will know them".

If at any time something doesn't seem right with my church, I'll know it and leave. Hopefully that won't ever happen though.

As Constance is talking about Tim LaHaye, in case people don't know it, Beverly LaHaye was his wife. Beverly was founder of Concerned Women for America.

I think I applied that very principle the day I was at a CWA conference and it felt as if I wasn't among Christians at all. I felt like I was in a highly charged and provocative political arena, and a very militant one at that. So perhaps that is a good example of the heretical dominionism threat within certain Christian churches that I was warned about on my blog.

    Thanks again.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Constance,

You are doing magnificent work here. I was struck by another thought as I read about Wikipedia, Squeakbox and Richard Weiss and his aliases. (last post)

Way too many people that I know of use Snopes as if it were the word of God in determining the veracity of something. This is very troubling to me, as Snopes is run by a married couple out of California who we know nothing about. They claim they use the main stream media for determining the veracity of something.

DUHHHHHHH! That definitely should be assuring!

It would be interesting to look into this couple's political associations, if nothing else. I wish I could remember their names, but right now I can't.

The Snopes "Bible" as well as the Wikipedia encyclopedia may be just another indication that the information on the Internet may be becoming controlled and regulated by a small group of individuals with certain motives. I think we can figure out who they are.

Keep in mind also Dorothy, that the very first blog entries I did back in June were not just about Obama, but contained a lot of references to Lucis Trust, Blavatsky, globalist agenda and the NWO. It's possible that it wasn't a BO supported at all that hacked my computer. The fact that I was denied the ability to purchase the scary New Age book, Phoenix Rising, by Mary Summer Rain, through Amazon (even after I'd paid for it)speaks volumes about the fact that my blog was immediately discovered by those people. That happened within HOURS after my post about Lucis Trust, and I am not kidding.

Are you familiar with the group Lamb?
I have been listening to their music for about 30 years now and I absolutely love it.

I used "Ha Tish Kach" in a dance production once to replace a demonic piece of music that a very demonic teacher in my dance school wanted to use. I also renamed the modern dance "A prayer for Israel". The change in music transformed the number from a very dark one to something very beautiful and uplifting and the audience remarked about how moved they were. The miracle was the fact that it fit perfectly with the choreography! Lyrics below.

    Ha-tish-kach i-shah oo-lah
    Me-ra-chem ben bit-nah
    Gam e-leh tish-kach-nah
    Vah-no-chi lo esh-kah-chekh

    Cho-mo-to-yikh
    Neg'-di ta-mid

Can a woman forget her nursing child
Or fail to have compassion upon him?
She may forget, but know it or not,
Israel you are always before Me...

Behold I have engraved my people
On the palms of My hands
Your walls are always before me, Israel
    How can I forget?

  31. Re Blavatsky. What you are stating about the expected Buddha relates to many thousands of years in the future. Madame Blavatsky did not preach of a coming of Christ, that was Annie Besant and Charles Leadbeatter (sp) who distorted the original teachings given out as Theosophy. What Blavatsky taught was that if one called themselves Christian, then they should do as Christ taught, in other words live by the Sermon on the Mount; that it is not necessary for any Christ to come to us but for us to come to that wisdom.

  39. I do not wish to argue with you, just to point out that Blavatsky did not make the statement you claim. Besant and Leadbeater did and built their Theosophy on that idea. The statements made in Theosophy World are the opinions of a student and could never provide a quote from Blavatsky that spoke of the return of Christ, meaning the same Great Soul who was on Earth 2000 years ago. Since I really do not want to argue, I will drop out of this dialogue.

  42. Royce,

clearly neither Blavatsky nor Besant nor Alice Bailey nor Benjamin Creme referred to "the Christ" as that same great soul that was on earth 2000 years ago. If that is your understanding of Christ, there is more hope for you than there was for them! They all claimed that Jesus was NOT the Christ -- that he was a "vehicle" for "the christ" as was supposed to be Krishnamurti (supposedly embodying the 'superior' Maitreya Buddha entity. We, as Christians, take very literally 1 John 2:22 which reads "who is a liar but he who denieth Jesus is THE CHRIST [as in one and only]. He is ANTICHRIST that denieth the Father and the Son."

The Bailey books had "the Master Jesus" reporting to the hitherto unknown "Venetian Master."

    Constance,
    Since someone tried to defend
    H. Blavatsky on your forum,
I deem it necessary to bring to
    the
    attention of your readers the
    following quote from Blavatsky's
    "The Secret Doctrine", vol 2,
    part 1, stanza 12:

    http://www.theosociety.org/pasadena/sd/sd2-1-21.htm

"To make the point clear once for all: that which the clergy of every dogmatic religion -- pre-eminently the Christian -- points out as Satan, the enemy of God, is in reality, the highest divine Spirit -- (occult Wisdom on Earth) -- in its naturally antagonistic character to every worldly, evanescent illusion, dogmatic or ecclesiastical religions included."

    I suppose that someone might
try to defend HPB saying that
the quote is "out of context",
but, in fact, with the context,
it becomes even worse. It will
    be entirely justified to say
    that Blavatsky's teachings are
    occult poison for the soul.

This is my first post here though I have been reading this blog for some time. I was sent an email from a family member written about what this one woman thinks about Sara Palin... The woman who wrote this is an Alaskan resident....
    Hope you enjoy it.

    __________________________________

Sarah Palin is the US's answer to Margaret Thatcher!
Anyone who thinks she cannot handle the job or deal briskly and
efficiently with ANY issue, including foreign governments
well, they haven't met our Sarah~!

As an Alaskan resident as well as a resident of Wasilla, AK,
where Sarah Palin was at one time Mayor. I can speak with
confidence. Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska is exactly what she
portrayed during her introduction this morning and exactly what
our US Government needs. She is ethical to a fault (if there is
such a thing), a refreshing change to the status-quo and as
smart and determined a PERSON (gender really isn't an issue here
as far as I'm concerned) as anyone could ask for at the head of
    government.

Sarah is no naive "small town mayor", she just **started out**
there. Btw, as Mayor of Wasilla, she brought this "small town"
through a lot of GOOD changes and left it at the end of her term
having grown to the 4^th largest CITY in Alaska, a lot of
growth and a stronger economic base than ever before.

She has EXECTUTIVE experience **running a government**
(something NONE of the other candidates can actually boast, even
John McCain) as Governor of Alaska and got there by
defeating the **incumbent** Republican Governor, who was
definitely part of the "old school" and who WAS very much in the
pocket of the big oil companies. We in Alaska wanted change!!
and we got it in the person of Sarah Palin!

Sarah Palin is everything she looks to be and more. Her approval
rating as Governor of Alaska has been as high as 95% and is
currently leveled out consistently in the upper 80 percentile
throughout the state (and in both parties) - the HIGHEST
approval rating of ANY sitting Governor.

Sarah has been turning around corruption in the Legislature of
Alaska - turning things on their ear for that matter; cutting
spending in spite of the increased income the state is currently
receiving due to the high oil prices - she has insisted on
putting a huge amount of the "windfall" into savings for the
future rather than spending, spending, spending - and has
insisted from the get-go on what she refers to as "honest,
ethical and transparent governing" - no more closed door
meetings and dealings - the big oil companies thought she would
be a pushover and have learned better to their chagrin.

She understands the "real people" and the economic issues we
_all_ face (Alaskans along with the rest of the country) - she
was one of "us" not long ago. Rather than passing useless "laws"
or throwing money at pet projects, she (most recently)
temporarily suspended the state gas tax (on gasoline at the
pumps, fuel oil and natural gas for homes, etc.) and has ordered
checks issued to ALL residents of Alaska this fall in an attempt
to assist with the burden of high fuel costs for the upcoming
winter. I could go on and on, but that's enough for now (smile).
She isn't doing these things to be popular, she is doing it
because her constituents are HURTING financially and she can help.

She became Governor of Alaska by defeating the Incumbent
Republican Governor and doing it *without* the money or the
support of the Republican Party, which was amazing in itself -
and she won by a landslide. The "powers that be" at that time
totally underestimated Sarah and learned better the hard way.
She has done exactly what she claimed she was going to do and is
just as popular today as the day she was elected - perhaps more
so since even the Democrats up here seem to like her - she works
well with both sides in the Legislature here.

Sarah "belongs" to us (Alaskans) ... and although we are going
to be terribly sorry to see her leave before she finishes the
job she started here (two years ago) straightening out OUR State
(grin) ... we understand she is needed for a bigger purpose and
hopefully her Lt. Governor will be able to fill her shoes here
    and continue the job.

As for worrying about what would happen if McCain were to die or
step down or whatever ... Theta, up here in AK we've only been
wondering how long we would be able to KEEP Sarah in Alaska and
have seen her as our first woman President of the USA from the
start. It's always been a matter of whether she would wait until
the end of her TWO terms as Governor (no doubt at ALL that she
would be re-elected if she ran for a second term at the end of
her current term) ... or end up in Washington sooner. She could
    do the job TODAY.

Personally, I feel a lot better about McCain now that I know he
has someone as savvy, as strong, as ethical and as steady as
Sarah at his back. She will be an excellent Vice President ...
and my guess is will be our US Republican Presidential candidate
in four years - AND by then the country will KNOW her, will
love and respect her as we do here - and she'll win by as much
of a landslide as she did here in Alaska. I only wonder if
McCain has a clue what he is unleashing on the US of A (grin).
She is going to be a fresh wind, but also a strong wind.

Is that enough of an endorsement? If not, I'll add this ...
Jerry and I have for many years felt the best "vote" was to vote
for the lesser of two "evils" and hope they didn't do too much
damage. Two years ago during our State Governor's race was the
first time EVER that we actually asked for not just a little
sign to put in our yard showing our support of our candidate
(something we've never felt the desire to do at all before) - we
asked for a full 4' x 8' "SARAH PALIN FOR GOVERNOR!" sign and
were proud to have it. She hasn't let us or Alaska down. She
will do the same for the USA if given the opportunity.

Feel free to pass this on to anyone who may be interested...

    Deb Frost in Alaska,

Thanks for posting your wonderful tribute to Sarah Palin. It is certainly worthy of being passed around.

The more I learn about Sarah Palin, the more I am coming to love her!

For me, the McCain-Palin ticket means that election day will certainly not be "hold-your-nose-and-vote" time!

  50. I would like this to be a letter to you and not to the world who reads you but I understand that, in sending to you this way, I cannot object if that is how it is used. First, I want to apologize. I was doing what I have always advised others never to do: speaking before listening, reacting without gathering the facts and jumping without looking.

We come from vastly different world views, obviously, but just as I would never allow anyone in my presence to say anything negative about any other person without facts to back up their statements, I could not allow your statement about Madame Blavatsky to go unchallenged. But my reply did not address the issues as you see them and as you challenge them.

Even quotes from Sylvia Cranston’s book would fail to address the issues because the philosophical background is so vastly different and even the vocabulary is at odds. We are arguing about two different things and if Anita (Sylvia Cranston was a psuedonym) were still alive, she would have been quick to point that out.

So my apologies if I seemed rude or challenging. My only goal was to separate the Theosophy of those who came after Blavatsky from the ideas that she actually put forward as Theosophy. I can see that I am not qualified to do so.

    PALIN ARTICLE AT EUREFERENDUM
    http://eureferendum.blogspot.com/
    The Awkwardness of Truth

I'll admit I'm getting more than a bit overwhelmed with Sarah Palin material, but in this piece is a link to a story that covers her involvement with the pipeline. This is more important than all of the nonsense rumors. Why is it we have to get the information from a foreign paper? We need to hear more of her involvement with the oil situation in Alaska, not about her hairdo.

"Today's Daily Telegraph carries an article by Jim Bennett, the premier Anglospherist and author of "The Anglosphere Challenge". In this he explains exactly what happened to Alaska's oil and how Sarah Palin in various political incarnations, challenged the existing and rather corrupt political establishment, negotiated the pipe deal and ensured that Alaskan oil benefited the whole country and, especially, the people of that state."

Susanna, I posted Deb Frost's letter, my cousin sent it to me by email. If you like that here is a video of Sarah Palin speaking at her Church...

    http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid1766638341

I agree with you, she has my vote for sure~!

here is a prayer that went with this video clip...

Lord in the Name of Jesus, we bless Sarah Palin and ask that You will protect her and her loved ones for such a time as this. We bind and break off any demonic assignment against her and loose to her 7 fold blessings in replacement. We cover her in the blood of Jesus Christ. We loose the angels of God to go with her and carry her into her destiny created before she was born. Thank You Lord for Your hidden servants and all that You do to raise them up. Thank You Lord that she honors You with her life. Now we ask that You will honor her, in a job well done. Open the double doors and release her into Your chosen destiny in Jesus Name we pray, amen.

A secular government watchdog group, Statewatch, has issued a report entitled "The Shape of Things to Come -- EU Future Report," re. the EU Council's shadowy "Future Group," which has just issued a 60-pg. paper that states, with regard to the 2009-2014 timer period:

“Every object the individual uses, every transaction they make and almost everywhere they go will create a detailed digital record. This will generate a wealth of information for public security organisations, and create huge
opportunities for more effective and productive public security efforts."

Tony Bunyan, the head of Statewatch, stated in an e-mail "The proposals set out by the shadowy "Future Group" set up by the Council of the European Union include a range of highly controversial measures including new technologies of surveillance, enhanced cooperation with the United States and harnessing the "digital tsunami".

    QUOTE FROM OBAMA HUMOR
    http://tinyurl.com/6gr2we
    Kathleen Park 9/10 column
    Chicago Tribune

In her column about the difference between the elite Obama team and the Palin down home team I found this gem.

"It was also Obama who, in trying to commiserate with Iowa farmers about low crop prices, asked, "Anybody gone into Whole Foods lately and see what they charge for arugula?"...

Well..what kind of place is Whole Foods? It's the kind food store that has
http://www.earth-usa.org/ on its website. It's the kind of place about which my deceased husband, who loved to cook and eat, said when I took him there to see what it was, "One trip here could cost more than our last used car."

    http://www.gourmetsleuth.com/arugula.htm
Arugula is an aromatic salad green. It is also known as rocket, roquette, rugula and rucola, and is popular in Italian cuisine. (I had to look it up.)

Obama - a member of the elite attempting to lead the common man to happiness. How nice.

  67. I remember hearing that comment, too, and I cracked up when he made it. It's a joke in some circles that you need to practically mortgage your house to shop at Whole Foods. They put these New Age Whole Food stores in the wealthiest towns and cities in the country- for example here in southwest FL, the only Whole Food stores are in Sarasota and Naples. When I lived in PA. I had to go to Devon to Shop at Whole Foods. I do like their salad bar however- New Age or not;0), though I typically pass on the arugula-too bitter.

Obama is definitely not with it if he didn't realize he was comparing a Saks mentality with Walmart budgets.

I was pleasantly surprised to find the Boehme-William Law connection in your blog. I made it myself a while back, and don't recall ever seeing the connection made elsewhere. I think I know where it leads, and unfortunately it has me wondering about Sarah Palin's church--not that the Catholics can claim any high ground on this topic!

Over five years ago, I carried on a many-weeks-long email conversation with one of Alice Bailey's disciples. It was Gloria Crook who runs a Robert Muller school in Texas. I had first read about her and her school in an article by Berit Kjos in Christian Conscience Magazine. It was quite another thing to actually have this exchange of words with her via the internet. She is truly a disciple. She takes part in these "meditations" with others on a regular basis to bring about Bailey's worldview. Such bizarre things seem unreal until you actually encounter those who are involved. It is hard to believe men like Solano exist until I tell myself that Gloria Crook is like he is.

  71. I don't know if the author is in agreement, she certainly seems to have more confidence in politics than I do, but it seems to me that this teaparty crowd who is posting are missing the point of the article, which is that Christianity in its public "persona," and in so much of the theology that is peddled to us today, has been hijacked by unbelievers with sometimes purely political (in their minds)intentions, but sometimes deliberate intention to change its meaning, negating or at least neutralizing the cross.
