  1. Constance,
I'll ask again. What happened to the long comment you left in the last post with all that information on it? It was critical information and now you've removed it? It's none of my business why you removed it, but it would be nice if you could repost the info about ebay/ small businesses as well as the truth about the Global Poverty Act.

I would send you an email instead of leaving this in the comment section but there is no email address for you on this blog.

  7. From today's Haaretz (Israel) News ESPECIALLY NOTE THE URGENCY THAT SOLANA SAYS IT HAS TO BE FINISHED BEFORE 2009!

"U foreign policy chief Solana to Haaretz: Israeli-Palestinian talks have gone too slowly

    By Barak Ravid

The peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians have been carried out far too slowly since last November's Annapolis summit, European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana told Haaretz.

Solana said in an interview on Friday that "it is true that in this process of negotiations, the more determined one is, the better chances of getting an agreement in the [stipulated] time frame .... I think that it has been done too slowly at the beginning and that probably this is the mistake that has been made."

Solana arrived in Israel Friday morning and had meetings with Israeli and Palestinian officials in Tel Aviv and Ramallah. Solana said he has doubts over whether a deal can be completed by the end of the year, saying that the longer the sides wait to go forward with talks, the less they are likely to succeed.

"Because time is shorter, it will more difficult to do," Solana said. "I think we have to maintain the momentum and we will have to see some results before the end of the year". He added that in 2009 "it will be much more complicated to do."

In a meeting with Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, the Israeli told Solana that "the right thing to do will be to continue the process in the same manner that it was planned. The international community should avoid trying to accelerate the process by proposing initiatives that will not meet Israel's interests.

In the interview, Solana called the negotiations between Israel and Syria a positive step, but said he thinks the Palestinian track needs to be addressed first. Solana added that if Syria changes its positions the way EU deems appropriate, there may be a chance to continue the talks on an association agreement with Syria. "At this moment this decision has not been taken," Solana said.

In Ramallah, Solana met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Salam Fayyad. Fayyad told Solana that "the international community's support for the peace process is meaningless so long as there is no real pressure on Israel to halt settlement expansion in the West Bank." Fayyad added that Israel's continued building in the settlements is a blatant violation of international law.

  8. On June 3, 2008, at the University of Leipzig, Javier Solana spoke at the occasion of the honorary doctorate for Dr Angela Merkel. He begins by saying while being honored by ones alma mater is always a special occasion, “It is perhaps more special when that person is the current Chancellor of Germany and the degree in question is PHYSICS, rather than law, political science or economics, as you might expect with a leading politician.

”…Ladies and Gentlemen, WE ARE ABOUT TO COMPLETE WHAT STARTED SO MANY YEARS AGO." That makes today’s event all the more poignant”. (Exalting himself just a little bit???)

He goes on to state that he, Solana, is also a trained physicist, ending up in politics.
He finds it striking how Angela Merkel, broke barriers along the way in her careers,
while, “The road she has travelled has been the road less travelled.”

    Sounds like Solana has read
    M. Scott Peck’s book. Also, because future events, according to the book of Revelation will require some "CALCULATING" on our part, perhaps a Physics degree would be helpful.

Recalling some of the key points Angela Merkel passed along the way on “that road”, Solana recounts, the first was studying physics in 1073 at Leipzig’s, then “the prestigious Karl Marx University”.

He notes those who meet Merkel, underline her CHARM, COMPETENCE, and STRONG PERSONALITY, which inspire SYMPATHY and TRUST. She has described herself as, COURAGEOUS IN DECISIVE MOMENTS. Solana also credits Merkel as, being an INTELLECTUAL person, who tries to THINK THROUGH a DECISION BEFOREHAND, “certainly a good thing to do in both science
and politics.”…” Her POLITICAL CAREER DEVELOPED AT HIGH SPEED AND INCLUDED MANY ‘FIRSTS”.

I “highlight” these points in Solana’s speech, because these same descriptions, have been used consistently by others, in global governance circles, to describe Javier himself.

He explains further, about the “collective effort” it took to bring about,

“The single market, Schengen, the euro and successive enlargements.”
and, “GERMANY IS A COUNTRY THAT STABILISES THE SYSTEM; THAT BUILDS BRIDGES AMONG CONTENDING VISIONS FOR EUROPE; THAT INJECTS NEW MOMENTUM WHEN WHEN THINGS ARE STUCK."

Angela Merkel, says Solana, “EMBODIES THAT SPECIAL GERMAN ROLE and RESPONSIBILITY for the European integration process.” ...

To me, Solana's choice of the words above in his talk sounded eerily familiar.

She was a CONSTRUCTIVE MEDIATOR,...she, successfully fulfilled the role of the EU presidency as Germany had its turn during the first half of 2007. Solana spoke of, having lived through over 30 presidencies, and having considerable experience,he sees Merkel as having led as, “one of the most successful presidencies the EU has ever had.”

Angela Merkel’s personal commitment has, (according to Solana) helped bring about “ambitious climate change objectives”, the Berlin Declaration to mark the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, AND. “THE CROWNING ACHEIVEMENT” and also according to Solana, his “PERSONAL TRIUMPH” of what was to become the LISBON TREATY.

In Solana’s conclusion, he quotes Albert Einstein:

“As Albert Einstein rightly said: "In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity".

Or, I suppose, you could say the same phrase another way,:

    “Order Out Of Chaos” -Rudi

“The One enthroned in heaven laughs.”
    Psalm 2

    (Excerpt from MSNBC physics article.)

"There are a lot of brainy nomads hanging around CERN's cafeteria nowadays. The patrons hail from all over the United States, from Canada, from Russia, from Japan, from China, and of course from across Europe. "It's like a mini-U.N.," Yurkewicz said.

    Changing of the guard

The buzz of activity at CERN's Swiss campus dramatically illustrates a changing of the guard on the frontier of physics, with Europe taking over from the United States. For the past 14 years, Europeans have taken the lead role in building and financing the $10 billion Large Hadron Collider, which was started up on Wednesday. The U.S. federal government kicked in $531 million for construction.

The LHC is just this week's most obvious example of Eurocentrism in science: Less than 200 miles (300 kilometers) away, an even costlier international physics project, the $13 billion ITER fusion research center, is just getting started in southern France. And European officials are currently considering how to move forward with yet another fusion project, the $1 billion HiPER laser-fusion facility."

Will confirmation of the existence of an extraterrestrial intelligent civilization so rock the adherents to earth's religious traditions that their belief systems will confront a crisis if not collapse altogether? Are religious people so narrow minded--so earth-centric and anthropocentric--that they would be shocked to realize we share our universe with other beings who are our equals if not superiors? No, say researchers in Berkeley, California. Religious believers show surprising openness at inviting extraterrestrial aliens into their terrestrial neighborhood."

    Setterman,
    Interesting article.
As far as outrunning the speed of light, I don't believe anyone has, or will ever do it to any
particle that has mass. They've known about "particles" that have negative mass for a long time, and that such particles continually stream out of the sun and right through the earth.
The speed of light is the great constant of the universe, German hubris or not.

  19. Here's what the "Maitreya [Betraya] 'the Christ'" crowd has up their sleeve -- does it sound like today's events. Please do not forget that their Spanish site has nice big pictures of Javier Solana and an "Ask.com" search brings up Share International on searches for "Javier Solana". Since there is not one word in the search result which could have triggered the search, i have to assume that signals are being sent that he may be THE MAN. Of course, Krishnamurti and Hitler hoped to be "the man" as well, so time and events will tell:

    "Sharing is the answer"

"What could cause humanity, particularly those in the developed world, to change to a less destructive, more sustainable lifestyle before it is too late?

"The writing is already on the wall, according to former US Federal Reserve Bank Chairman Alan Greenspan. "It is not credible that the United States can remain an oasis of prosperity unaffected by a world that is experiencing greatly increased stress," Greenspan says. But the "stress" of collapsing economies in Asia and Russia ― and increasing turmoil in Latin America and Eastern Europe ― not only affects the oasis of the United States, but the rest of the world as well. The world economy is "in a mess," concedes a senior official at the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

"Efforts by the Federal Reserve and the IMF to prop up the global economy are dwarfed by the sheer size of the 'global casino' that has contributed to the problems in the first place. Some $1,5 trillion in currency changes hands electronically every day in search of speculative profits unrelated to any exchange of real goods and services. This flow of capital, when shifted away from countries like Thailand and Indonesia, has caused severe economic hardships, which have rippled across the globe. With Japan, the world's second largest economy, already in deep recession, the outlook is not bright.

"When the US's "oasis of prosperity" begins to dry up, as it must in the current global financial crisis, stock markets in the West will plunge. This collapse will provide an opportunity for governments to re-evaluate their economic priorities, says futurist Benjamin Creme. The nations of the world will meet together to discuss how to cope with the future in an orderly fashion."

The foregoing from "Maitreya's Priorities" of "Share International." Wonder how soon the 'emergency conferences' will be called on this? I am deeply suspecting "The Armageddon Script" (Aquarian Press) and "End of the World 2009" (Tarcher Press) in action!

"I considered it an answer to personal prayer to be looking for Gold to close on Solanas birthday 2007 for the first time in history at 666.00.

Only the individual praying can really sense Gods involvement I suppose but it truly spoke to my spirit that God was confirming to me the endtime position we are in because I asked in faith.

As I pondered HIS answer to me it seemed that everytime 666 is attached in a meaningful way to Solanas name he is getting new influence or power. In this case it seemed it would be economic. I felt that Gold at 666 spoke of the beginning of the end of economic hegemony of the US with that power shifting to the EU.

I believe the events of the last year which seem to be excellerating are bearing this out.

Javier Solana is 66 this year and I wonder if it will not be a great year for him.Adamantine

P.S. The text of the original article seems to have been changed. The original post (not by Adamantine) read as follows:

"In one the most extraordinary days in Wall Street’s in history, Merrill Lynch is near an 11th-hour deal to avert a deepening financial crisis while another storied securities firm, Lehman Brothers, hurtled toward liquidation, according to people briefed on the deal.

The dramatic turn of events was prompted by the cataclysm of losses that has shaken the American financial industry over the last 14 months.

The moves came after a weekend of frantic negotiations between federal officials and Wall Street executives over how to avert a downward spiral in the markets. Questions still remain about how the market will react and whether other firms may still falter like A.I.G., the large insurer, and Washington Mutual, both of whose stocks fell precipitously last week.

Coming just a week after the government took control of mortgage lenders Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the magnitude of the industry’s reshaping is staggering: two of the most powerful firms on Wall Street, Merrill Lynch and Lehman, will disappear."

  25. SCHENGEN, THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE TRAVEL INITIATIVE ARE PART OF THE SAME 'CONVERGENCE' PER MICHAEL CHERTOFF ARTICLE I JUST DISCOVERED ONLINE! Here is link and important portion:

    http://www.europeanaffairs.org/current_issue/2008_winter_spring/2008_winter_spring_01.php4

"What matters is that the treaty saves the most important institutional changes needed to make the EU more efficient in terms of decision-making. Crucial points include the extension of qualified-majority voting (even then, many areas will still require unanimity: tax harmonization, defense, and even the Common Foreign and Security Policy, migration, parts of commercial policy, future reductions in the number of Commissioners, any extension of the Commission President’s powers). In making this change, the most contentious issue was the plan to shift to a new “double majority” (requiring 55 percent of EU member states representing 65 percent of the EU population for a “majority”). This complex procedural question included a new calculation for the number of votes allocated to each member state in decisions by the European Council. Poland set out to be the spoiler, vehemently opposing the new voting formula because it would enhance German power to the detriment of smaller members, notably Poland and Spain. The adjustment seemed reasonable to most Europeans: Poland’s population only comprises about eight percent of the EU total of 490 million, compared to Germany’s 17 percent, yet Poland under the old (and still temporarily prevailing system) has had nearly as many votes as Germany. (Out of a total of 345 votes, Poland had – and retains until 2014 – 27 votes compared to the 29 each of Germany and the other largest countries.) The Nice Treaty, which allocated the old voting quotas, also established a threefold requirement for majority (states, population and weighted votes) that favored smaller and medium-sized states (such as Poland) in a way that ensured that the three biggest members had no blocking minority. Most EU member states agreed that this needed to be changed (with the new “double majority” voting formula) to facilitate majority voting in the expanded 27-member bloc. After the summit, the EU has a road map to this slightly-streamlined system.

"In short, governments are concurring not only on the nature of the terrorist threat but on a broad strategy to stop bad individuals from attacking the people and infrastructure in our respective countries."
