Henry Kissinger speaks and the world is most likely listening
I’m taking a break from finishing my book on Javier Solana to update my blogspot readers on what I see as an interesting new development. An article bylined by none other than Henry Kissinger appears in Saturday's Daily Aspen News. You may find it on line here: http://www.aspendailynews.com/article_16917
It was Henry Kissinger who made the famous statement that he wished he had a single number to call to reach Europe. It was the Clinton administration who announced gleefully that this had been achieved – under Javier Solana. It was the Bush administration that handed its proxy on Iran to Javier Solana – to exercise on June 6, 2006, no less.
Henry Kissinger has now spoken again. He notes that Condoleezza Rice may be taking back the USA’s proxy given Europe and its Javier Solana under certain conditions. Those conditions are that Iran stop nuclear enrichment while direct negotiations with the USA are taking place.
Kissinger is skeptical that such will happen –or even work. He believes the USA is in no position to challenge Iran. Moreover, he apparently believes that the conflict is also Mideast regional – Moslem Shi’ite “ideology” (religion) vs. Sunni religious forces.
Henry Kissinger says that as long as Iran considers what it is doing a “crusade” vs. geopolitical realities, probably nothing will work. He notes that Europe will not insist on tough sanctions against Iran. He also notes that nobody has probably more to lose than Russia if Iran gains nuclear strength – Iran would then become a dangerous underbelly to Russia’s already self-evident problems with what Kissinger calls Shiite ideological extremists.
Kissinger says that because of the delicacy of that situation both Europe and Russia are hesitant to use direct confrontation. He says that Russia now doubts the USA’s staying power in the region.
Kissinger also expresses the opinion that the situation is too dangerous to ignore and will not go away.
So what does Henry Kissinger believe will work? What healing balm will calm that region and unify the now competing Shiite and Sunni forces? It looks to me as if Kissinger may be suggesting that Israel is the key. It is renewed Palestinian peace efforts.
Kissinger says Iran’s Ahmadinejad is empowered by knowledge that Shiite forces in Iraq alongside with Iranian sponsored Hezbollah ones in Lebanon are causing panic in Sunni nations. He suggests that the solution is two-fold: A Palestinian solution inside Israel and encouraging Iran to act “as a nation, not a cause.”
Kissinger further says that there must now obviously be a USA repositioning, but if it must not be currently perceived as a prelude to inspired USA withdrawal from the region. Such could cause Iran to perceive it as opportunity. It would see the collapse of existing structures, take advantage of a perceived opportunity to fill the power vaccuum. Ergo, there would be even more chaos in the region. Iran probably would not move aggressively, per Kissinger, unless it believes this would happen. Consequently, any strategic redeployment must take this type of Shiite (Ahmadinejad) thinking into account.
To me, Kissinger’s proposed solutions seem to lead us full circle to where Javier Solana came in when I first discovered him in 1995. Solana has been the only constant figure in all the “peace moves” in the Middle East, at least from 1991 onwards. Kissinger now defines religious fervency as “an ideology, "a crusade”, “a cause” and exceedingly dangerous, at least as it applies to Shiite Moslems. If Kissinger reflects and/or is shaping NATO, G-8, UN consensus, and he may well be, it may be inevitable that the “Alliance of Civilizations” with Solana’s concomitant “battle religious fundamentalism, worldwide” will come into accelerated play. After all, wouldn’t it, per that Alliance of Civilizations cum “New World Religion” combined with other equally “no religion” forces, be unfair to apply anti-fundamentalism to only Islamics?
As I currently read it, this may likely be a win-win for Javier Solana and/or any successor for the processes Solana began. It looks as if very sophisticated minds are calling for a consensus that will control both the Israeli region and world monotheistic, non-compromising religious expression.
When Henry Kissinger speaks, people usually listen. A very dangerous world is currently in play. As Herb Peters expresses it: stay tuned!
Like Kissinger, the Alliance of Civilizations has boiled the Mideast problem down to the Israeli-Palestinian confict and identifies the problematic players to be the adherents of the three major monotheistic faiths (globally). I posted the Alliance's position in Constances previous NATO blog article.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting side note on the Bailey position re the three dead and gone monotheistic religions: "The Moslem faith has served its purpose and all true Moslems await the coming of the Imam Mahdi WHO WILL LEAD THEM TO LIGHT AND TO SPIRITUAL VICTORY;" [emphasis mine]
As I see it, everything is positioned and intact for the start of the tribulation period. Or from Marily Ferguson's new age perspective, it is time for the new civilization to claim its heritage.

Dear Rich in Medford,
ReplyDeleteExcellent post! Thanks and thanks for helping me more clearly see over the past few months the most critical role played by the Alliance of Civilization planners. It is increasingly appearing to me as though the Danish cartoon incident may have been a precipitated one designed to advance the AOC Cause which Javier Solana began through the Anna Lindh Foundation much earlier than the Danish cartoon crisis and accompanying riots. Looks like it is becoming a dandy excuse to regulate both speech and religion. Was it a designed provocation?
I am convinced that the cartoon crisis was manufactured. A correspondent from the Jutland Post has also raised the question. It is very suspicious that the three most inflamatory cartoons inserted into the collection and distributed throughout the Mideast were ones that were never even published by the Post. Read about it here:

How convenient that Solana organizes the battle troops way ahead of time. Do you think that the outcome of the U.S. elections is what triggered the speady reaction from Solana? I do. Liberalls don't know how to run the millitary. Solana in preperation to deliver us from an attack from Iran or Al-qaeda? After all the terrorist said vote democrat. The beggining signs to the U.S. caving politically to radical Islam? Sure looks like it to me. You know the terrorist sure think so.
ReplyDeleteThis may seem off topic, but it landed in my mailbox last night and I really appreciated the message. I think most of the "regulars" here will concur/relate to it:
ReplyDeleteThe following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday
Morning Commentary.
Herewith at this happy time of year, a few confessions from my beating
heart: I have no freaking clue who Nick and Jessica are. I see them on
the cover of People and Us constantly when I am buying my dog biscuits
and kitty litter. I often ask the checkers at the grocery stores. They
never know who Nick and Jessica are either. Who are they? Will it change
my life if I know who they are and why they have broken up? Why are they
so important?
I don't know who Lindsay Lohan is either, and I do not care at all about
Tom Cruise's wife.
Am I going to be called before a Senate committee and asked if I am a
subversive? Maybe, but I just have no clue who Nick and Jessica are.
If this is what it means to be no longer young. It's not so bad.
Next confession:
I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does
not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up,
bejeweled trees Christmas trees. I don't feel threatened. I don' t feel
discriminated against. That's what they are: Christmas trees.
It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, "Merry Christmas" to me. I
don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a
ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. It shows that we are all brothers
and sisters celebrating this happy time of year.
It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a
key intersection near my beach house in Malibu. If people want a creche,
it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.
I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think
Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think
people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around,
period. I have no idea where the concept came from that America is an
explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the Constitution, and I
don't like it being shoved down my throat.
Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we
should worship Nick and Jessica and we aren't allowed to worship God as
we understand Him?
I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too.
But there are a lot of us who are wondering where Nick and Jessica came
from and where the America we knew went to.
In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a
little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it's not funny,
it's intended to get you thinking.
Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane
Clayson asked her "How could God let something like this Happen?"
(regarding Katrina)
Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She
said, "I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for
years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of
our government and to get out of our lives.
And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How
can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we
demand He leave us alone?"
In light of recent events...terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I
think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her
body found recently) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools,
and we said OK.
Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible
says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor
as yourself. And we said OK.
Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they
misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we
might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We
said an expert should know what he's talking about and we said OK.
Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they
don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill
strangers, their classmates, and themselves.
Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it
out. I think it has a great deal to do with "WE REAP WHAT WE SOW."
Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the
world's going to hell.
Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the
Bible says.
Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like
wildfire but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people
think twice about sharing.
Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through
cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and
workplace.
Are you laughing?
Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on
your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what
they will think of you for sending it.
Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us
than what God thinks of us.
Pass it on if you think it has merit. If not then just discard it... no
one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don't
sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.

ReplyDeleteYou ask a very loaded question that's difficult to answer with 100 percent certainty. If one looks at history, typically opressive regimes first eliminate their known political enemies. (I'm sure that many of us on this blog site have already been identified as such.) Secondly, those regimes immediately killed and/or severely restricted the intelligentsia.
In context of the new age, authors such as Barbara Marx Hubbard refer to a coming selection process. Hubbard points to a specific event, or signal, she refers to as the quantum transformation in which society is presented with the "choice" to transcend with the collective whole. If one refuses, they are to become extinct.
I believe the selection process is to be conducted by the Alliance of Civilizations through the Barcelona Process. The Anna Lindh Foundation (face to the Barcelona Process) claims to be the "network of networks". If you ask me, let them keep their network of networks. I'll bow before the King of kings and rest assured that I am secure in Him.

I was having trouble finding the story so I contacted a well-known source who knew that EU people love to play "Can you find the story under the moving shell?" The short article doesn't mention numbers, but the plan in 2004 was to have 13-15 battle groups with 1,500 troops in each, according to this source.
A news story at EUpolitix.com said the following:
Defence ministers are also set to agree plans for two EU battle groups to be operational from January 2007.
The rapid reaction troops will be available for duty on a six-monthly rotation rosta: a Franco-Belgium battle group and another formed by Germany, Finland and the Netherlands will be the first.
Dorothy
Oh, what the heck. This is the story from the EU. Does "fully operational" mean 2 or 13 units, I leave it up to you. We all know the EU is very open and honest (HAH!).
ReplyDeleteEU Battle Groups fully operational in January 2007
"EUFOR at work in Bosnia Herzegovina"
EU Foreign and Defence Ministers discussed the latest developments in EU capabilities and operations at their biannual review of European Security and Defence Policy issues in Brussels on 13 November. EU High Representative Javier Solana stressed the good progress of the EU’s military capabilities, the key focus being on the Battle Groups, which will reach full operational capability in January 2007.

I apologize if my questions seem to be simple but just over the past year I have begun to look at this web site and follow the news more closely. I should have been paying closer attention but like many I overlooked world events. I understand more now than I did then but I still have a lot of questions one being, when Solana reported that European battle groups will be positioned and ready by 2007, what does that mean for the entire world in general? What changes will come into effect because of this?

I wonder if Solana had a hand in this for his home country Spain. It seems that the Texas part of the Trans-American highway going from Mexico to Texas is being built by a Spanish firm. The tolls collected will go to Spain. In Spain and Portugal, all major highways are privately owned. The rest of this superhighway is also to be built by Spain with the tolls going to Spain.
In addition, the new road, which is to parallel I-35 has a non-competitive clause. Our roads are not to be improved so as not to compete with the new road. The road being built will have the right of eminent domain, which means the government can buy up whatever land it needs along the way.
Interesting story. More interesting information at other links on the topic.

ReplyDeleteThe Indiana toll road is for sale.
If Gov. Mitch Daniels gets his way, the Indiana Toll Road will not just be under the control of a private company but likely a foreign one as well.
None of the nine companies said to be potential bidders for the lease of the toll road is home-grown. Four are based in Spain, one in China, one in France, one in Italy and two in Australia.
But the fact that the companies are based on foreign soils should not come as a surprise to region transportation officials. The Chicago Skyway currently is leased by a consortium of companies from Spain and Australia, both of which are said to be leading bidders for a potential lease of the Indiana Toll Road.
And toll roads throughout the country that have or are looking to privatize already are in the crosshairs of many of the nine foreign companies said to be eying Indiana's toll road.

RE: Alliance of Civilizations White Paper on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (This paper is A MUST READ)
ReplyDeleteOne of the supporting documents for the Alliance of Civilizations final report has some very interesting and disturbing language. The report is on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and can be found here http://tinyurl.com/wk43d
Item numbered 5 states that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the core of the problem with relations between the West and Islam. The Alliance believes it is their duty to solve this problem as the international community is incapable of producing a solution (see also Item 1, second bullet point.)
Here is where things get really interesting. It appears to me that Item number 9 says that the solution is to be “imposed”. According to number 13, it is the United Nations that will provide pedagogical and ideological truth.
And finally, item number 2 reads “The objective of the HLG is to enforce an Alliance of Civilizations against all those who…by… ideological choice, give prevalence…to a logic of division and confrontation.”
Recall that by Alliance standards, exclusive ideology that causes division is defined as “those who feed on exclusion and claim sole ownership of truth”. http://tinyurl.com/y4t99k
(Read John 14:6 as you consider this statement).
I welcome your comments. In particular, I’m interested in your interpretations of Item number 9. Lord, I pray that you keep Israel safe—Amen.

It seems to me that the AOC is ready to impose its will onto the world for acceptance of peace, which will surely not last for long. In 3.5 years everything could blow-up in a big way.
Anon,
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right about it blowing up in 3-1/2 years. Since the Alliance has identified the problematic players as the adherents to the three monotheistic religions, its easy to see who is going to get the blame. That's when they'll start to enforce their ideological truth.

I'm not sure how it plays into the political picture, but I read recently that the Pope has recruited the advisory services of Henry Kissinger.

Kissinger to Serve As Papal Adviser?
ReplyDeletePope Benedict XVI has invited Henry Kissinger, former adviser to Richard Nixon, to be a political consultant and he accepted.
Catholic Register | November 26, 2006
BY EDWARD PENTIN
VATICAN CITY — Over the course of his long and controversial career, former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger has had many titles. Now he reportedly has one more — adviser to the Pope.
According to the Italian newspaper La Stampa, Pope Benedict XVI has invited the 83-year-old former adviser to Richard Nixon to be a political consultant, and Kissinger has accepted.
Quoting an “authoritative” diplomatic source at the Holy See, the paper reported Nov. 4 that the Nobel laureate was asked at a recent private audience with the Holy Father to form part of a papal “advisory board” on foreign and political affairs.
As the Register went to press, Kissinger's office was unable to confirm or deny the report. La Stampa stood by its story, although the Italian press is less rigorous in its authentication of stories as is the United States Press.
If true, there is speculation on which issues Kissinger would advise the Holy Father. Relations with Islam, Palestine and Israel , and Iraq — Kissinger has been critical of the conduct of the war but opposes a quick withdrawal — are likely to be high up on the agenda.
It has also been speculated that, in view of the Muslim hostility to Benedict's recent Regensburg speech, Kissinger might provide advice on dealing with an increasingly fractious Islamic world.
Furthermore, like the Pope, Kissinger has analyzed the challenges of globalization and might provide advice in this area as well.
“The idea [of his appointment] sounds like a good one,” said veteran Vatican journalist Sandro Magister. “But so would it also be to consult other experts on geopolitics with different orientations.”
As possible expert advisers with different perspectives, Magister listed Catholic philosopher and former diplomat Michael Novak; Bernard Lewis, professor of Near Eastern Studies at Princeton University; and foreign policy experts such as Charles Kupchan and G. John Ikenberry.
Expert Advice
The recruitment of Kissinger would not be unprecedented. Experts from a variety of disciplines, including the realm of economics, politics and philosophy, are regularly invited to advise popes and Vatican officials on current affairs.
Pope John Paul II was close friends with Zbigniew Brzezinski, the Polish-born national security adviser to President Jimmy Carter, partly because both had a common Polish heritage (though this caused the Soviets to suspect the Vatican of “fixing” the election of Karol Wojtyla, which occurred during the Carter presidency).
Similarly to John Paul and Brzezinski, Benedict and Kissinger are close in age and were both born in Bavaria (a Jew, Kissinger and his family fled Nazi Germany before World War II).
In recent years, other figures invited to share their expertise with the Holy See have included Paul Wolfowitz, a former President Bush adviser and now president of the World Bank; Michel Camdessus, the former director of the International Monetary Fund; American economist Jeffrey Sachs and Hans Tietmeyer, former governor of Germany 's central bank.
The pontifical academies also regularly call on academic luminaries as consultants, such as Nobel laureates Gary Becker, the successor to Milton Friedman at the Chicago School of Economics, and Italian medical researcher Rita Levi-Montalcini.
In comments to the Register, Novak said that “many, maybe most” of these experts are not Catholic, but that the Pope “can call in certain experts he wants to talk to, or hear a paper from, with discussion in a small group.”
Novak said this is true of both Benedict XVI and John Paul II, whom he described as having “very curious and searching minds.”
Any appointment of Kissinger is likely to cause some unease, however. One Iranian radio station is already reporting the news as a “papal-Jewish conspiracy,” while others object to the Pope consulting with someone who has been widely identified with the realpolitik school of political analysis, an approach that places practical considerations before morality.
‘Different Voices'
Yet like Pope John Paul II, Benedict XVI is winning recognition for his intellectual ability and his capacity to discuss international issues with a diverse spectrum of world figures, ranging from the Dalai Lama to the late atheist polemicist Oriana Fallaci and to Mustapha Cherif, an Algerian Muslim philosopher whom he met this month.
“Such an appointment would really show Benedict XVI to be contrary to his media image, as someone who's willing to listen to other voices not in accordance with his views,” said one Holy See diplomat about the reported enlistment of Kissinger as a papal adviser. “It's always helpful to hear different voices offering different views.”
