Rod of Iron Ministries & MAGA - Another compelling reason to be wary of Trump cultism

This is a sleepless night for me -- fortunately, I keep a computer bedside just in case.  If the night leg pains get too intense, I can sit up and research until sleepiness might set in.  That is what is happening with me now.  I have been paying attention recently to the continued spread of the Moonie cults and former President Donald Trump and company's relationship to it.  I have found something extremely disturbing -- Huang Jin Sean Moon founded "Sanctuary Church" a/k/a "Rod of Iron Ministries."  I ordered his book, ROD OF IRON KINGDOM and perused it tonight.

Rod of Iron Ministries Church is founded by Huang Jin Sean Moon, one of Reverend Sun Myung Moon's 12 "  Look carefully at the crown on his head -- it is formed of bullets.

This variation of Moon's "True Parents" calls for members to be armed with AR Automatic Assault rifles.  The Church believes that January 6, 2021 will be remembered as a sacred and holy day in American history.  It also believes it is preparing its people for war.  As I showed in an earlier post, Donald Trump went to Korea last year and thanked Unification Church and the Moon founders for vastly improving the planet.  The Pennsylvania based Rod of Iron Church has been visited and spoken to by Steve Bannon, Eric Trump, Doug Matriano and other members of the Trump establishment.

They believe they are preparing our country for civil war and they intend to be "God's instruments" fighting it.  They take out of context a verse from Revelation (Revelation 2:27) that Jesus will rule us with a "Rod of Iron" -- and of course, since the Moon family think they are the ones completing "Jesus' unfinished work" they are standing in for Him!

They have bought a large compound near Waco, Texas and another in Grainger County, Tennessee.

For the record, Rev. Moon's "new gospel" was that Jesus failed in his mission which was to succeed and replace the race of Adam by marrying and having children.  His crucifixion represented "a failure".  Rev. Moon says he was called by God to fulfill that mission which he and his wife Jak Ha Moon (currently the head of the international church) did by having their 12 children.  Huang Jin Sean Moon tries to sound like a Christian in his book ROD OF IRON KINGDOM.  His theology is that his parents are the "True Parents" and their message the "true gospel."  If you don't believe me, take a peek at their websites for "Rod of Iron Ministries" and "World Peace and Unification Sanctuary Church".

The Moonies are an important component of the New Age Movement of which I have warned for the past 42 years.  One of their important spokesman admitted to me that they were working with Benjamin Creme and Tara Center (January 1983 - Joe Tully).  Tully is the same person who assaulted Josette Sheeran's father when he tried to extricate his daughter in 1979 from the Moon cult.

This cult hooked up with the MAGA Movement, with a goal of restoring Donald Trump to the Presidency, treating January 6, 2021's assault on the United States Capitol as sacred, is armed and dangerous.  Most certainly, there is no room there for any TRUE Christian.  Donald Trump and his close supporters have done nothing to discourage it -- but to encourage it.  I submit, that if you are in MAGA and/or Qanon, it is 'time to come out of her, my people."

Another example of NAR Trump idolatry -- this one in my email box from Elijah list this morning!

Stay tuned -- I will be writing more on this later.

Hezbollah Soldier Saw Jesus in Vision, Converted to Christianity: ‘I Just Began to Weep’

https://www.christianheadlines.com/contributors/michael-foust/hezbollah-soldier-saw-jesus-in-vision-converted-to-christianity-i-just-began-to-weep.html

A former soldier for the terrorist group Hezbollah is sharing his testimony of how he converted from Islam to Christianity, saying he encountered Jesus in a vision and was transformed from someone who hated Jewish people to someone who learned to love.

Afshin Javid, the author of As Easy As Drinking Water, told CBN in a new interview that he formerly was a devout Muslim and Hezbollah soldier who admired Hitler but believed the Nazi leader “didn’t finish the job.” Hezbollah is a militant group and political party within Lebanon, to Israel’s north.

“I was on my way to the United States to convert Christians to Islam, and I had 30 illegal passports at that time. I was arrested and put in jail in Malaysia. I was a dedicated Muslim who not only prayed the prayers, but I read the Koran once every ten days, cover to cover. So I was very dedicated in my time in jail,” Javid told CBN.

A vision of Jesus changed his life.

“One day, as I'm praying, a man appears in front of me – normal size, but his being shines like light,” he said. “This light is not a normal light. This light carried identity in it. And you knew that he was holy, and instantaneously, I knew I was not. Even though I had prayed so many prayers, even though I had fasted so much and I had read the Koran and I had volunteered to work on landmines, or I had participated in hanging people trying to please Allah, I knew, even though I have kept all the rules and regulation of Islam, I knew I am not just, and I'm not holy, and I knew the only just thing for him to do is to kill me.

“But I didn't want to die. So I ran to the corner of the room, literally held my head in my arms, and just cried out, shouting, ‘Forgive me, forgive me, forgive me.’”

Javid didn’t believe he would be forgiven.

“[But] I felt a touch on my left arm, and He said, ‘I forgive you.’ And I felt the weight just lifted off me. And I knew I was forgiven, but I don't know how. And I was confused. Still, I say, ‘Okay, I don't understand. Only God can forgive, but You just forgave me. You are God, but You are a different God than the one I have studied about. This is not Allah. So who are You that forgives me?’ And He said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life.’”

“And I thought, ‘That's very powerful.’ It means a lot because, as a Muslim, you pray, ‘Show me there's a straight path.’ And so the way is a direction. Truth is something you measure. Life is a source, but He claims to be all those three. I never thought the way is a person. The truth is a person, and life is a person, and all of them are the same person. So I said, ‘I don't understand -- what is your name?’ And He said, ‘Jesus Christ.’ And it was as if someone grabbed all my bones out of my body. I just fell like a piece of meat to the ground. And I just began to weep.

“It's like, you know, being colorblind, and then suddenly you see colors, and you realize the world is so much more beautiful than you ever thought. And if you ask me what made the world so colorless, it's the hatred, the anger that is in the heart of every Muslim,” he added.

Up until that point in his life, Javid had never met a Jewish person. Christ, he said, transformed how he sees the world.

“I thought Hitler was a good man for doing what he did. He just didn't finish the job. I don't know why I hated them,” Javid said. “No Jew had ever done anything bad to me. God didn't design us to hate; he didn't design us to want to see someone dead. He did not design us for these things. These are designs of Satan. How do you think killing the people to whom God gave this land is going to please Allah? Jesus is not a God that celebrates when Jews are killed."

The former member of Hamas, who was a leader's son and a prince among his people, joined the mystical body of Jesus Christ. When he did so, he fractured his own family. It couldn't have been any other way, unless his family had also converted.

The rogue nation of today's Israel isn't part of 'the mystical body of Jesus Christ.' Palestinian believers know that.

Anon 6:15/16 PM,

No, no, no! That cannot be! That contradicts some folks' cessationism.

Is God converting Muslims through dreams?

Wretched

Todd Friel, in his circular argument, first goes to Hebrews 1:1-2:

Hebrews 1 tells us dreams are over.

Well, it does if you read cessationism INTO the context (eisegesis). But if you take the passage at face value, it doesn't.

[I had this video at the ready, because a while back I considered writing a rebuttal to it, and it's in my notes.]

Well, I have a friend of many years with a dream testimony. He grew up in a crime family in New Jersey. Says he never heard of Jesus. He spent years in prison, ended up in a mental hospital. He had a dream about Jesus while in solitary confinement and received him as Savior. He was eventually released a sane man. He did a lot of Jesus Saves street evangelism and then pastored a church, now retired. He likes the prosperity gospel. It fits with his gambling addiction. He is strongly cessationist.

Oh boy, talk about betrayal. Anyway, something entered him at the wailing wall and I doubt he's any longer a celibate.

PS: the poor guy doing the interview knew Fr Bericer in the before times and this interview has shaken his faith. Bad news. . .

Craig,

How can it be????

I agree with Friel. Hebrews doesn't support it even "at face value" AND, Afshin Javid (like many supposed miraculous converts on the NAR-type church and tele-word of faith tele-evangelist mininstry circuits) was/is, it very much seems, a grifting false convert.

There is reason to be very skeptical of his now old testimony.

In 2011 he was embroiled in a scandal with accusations of serious and repeated sexual and financial misconduct, false teachings, and weird manipulative "prophecies."

He was fired from his church.

There is a discussion of it here:

https://truthforalltohear.wordpress.com/2011/08/25/afshin-javid-iamthirsty-vancouver-christian-fellowship-and-the-facts/

And here:

http://arieladinamoorebranded.blogspot.com/2012/07/afshin-javid-former-hezbollah-member.html

I'm just highly skeptical of people that say they were rotten Muslim terrorists and found Jesus, "in a dream"; especially when they are making money off it.

Just another example of naivete and risk within continuationist circles.

Jesus speaks through His word.

“When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, ‘It is finished,’ and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit” John 19:30

p.s. - I know there are also many true Muslim converts, like Abdu Murray.

Did you mean "continuationist".

The heretical world of "Word of Faith" "Prosperity Gospel" teachings are, to my understanding, generally built on a continuationist model.

As in you can manifest health and wealth...supernaturally.

Not that a cessationist can't run a false ministry too; but, why bother when it's easier to sell "signs and wonders", miraculous pretend healings and engage people (and their wallets) uber-emotionally versus all that messy and time-consuming scripture reading & research.

When I read this article last night, I thought of a few people all over the place, and some here, but in this place, I thought of X most of all. Yes, I know that Greg Lukianoff is not a believer and that he thinks he found a solution in a combination of cognitive behavioral psychology and Buddhism. I'm more interested in his insight into the problem than his proposed solution. (We will not have anymore cancel culture because everybody will be converted to Buddhism and receive cognitive behavioral therapy? What?)

But what I found of so much relevance here is what he had to say about "rhetorical fortresses."

"One set of fortresses are rhetorical deflections — such as whataboutism, straw-manning and minimization — which people use to avoid dealing with the substance of an argument. The other are effectively forms of ad hominem attacks — efforts to dismiss arguments on the basis of the speaker’s identity or character."

Sick of Cancel Culture? One Man Has a Surprising Solution.

Greg Lukianoff is on a quest to heal a fractured nation and guard America’s liberties — if it’s not already too late.

How dreams and visions of “Isa” are awakening the Islamic world

https://www.denisonforum.org/current-events/global/how-dreams-and-visions-of-isa-are-awakening-the-islamic-world/

Dreams and visions, miracles, narrow escapes, disguises, beheadings, government surveillance, and bold witness: all of these characterize the real lives of thousands of followers of Christ in extreme Islamic countries.

Devout Muslims find themselves ostracized, and sometimes beaten or killed, if they turn to follow Jesus. Yet, in recent years, hundreds of thousands do so anyway.

P.S. Abdu Murray attended American universities. He may have been Muslim, but he wasn't living in a Muslim nation. May God continue to bless Abdu Murray and work through him and with him. I'm glad he had the luxury of his nine year long, freely undertaken, open and intellectual journey to Christianity. In many nations around the world, Muslim converts do not have that same luxury.

Anonymous said...

I see Abdu Murray wrote, More Than a White Man's Religion. The Lord brings a Muslim to our shores, converts him, and inspires him to write a book about the Bible upholding the dignity of non-whites and women. The Lord moves in mysterious ways.

Amazon summarizes it thusly:

Though many today accuse Christianity of being a white, imperialistic religion, it is actually the source for cherished Western ideals of racial and gender equality. In More Than a White Man's Religion, author and speaker Abdu Murray shares stories from the Bible and his own experiences as a global apologist, a member of an ethnic minority, a son of immigrants, and a former Muslim to show that the gospel message provides dignity and liberty to non-whites and women.

More Than a White Man's Religion reveals:

The ethnically diverse roots of biblical stories and passages that inspired some of the greatest social reforms in history

How challenging and sometimes confusing Bible passages and stories can be best understood to champion equality for ethnically diverse people and women

Ways believers can bring real and lasting change to our culture's pervasive racial, ethnic, and gender equality issues by following Jesus' and his followers' examples

Without overlooking the places where Christianity has failed to live up to its own ideals, Murray challenges the myth that Christianity is an oppressive, Western religion and shows believers how to better fulfill their God-given mandate to uphold the dignity of every human being.

Tackling head-on one of the most serious challenges to the Christian faith in our multicultural age, More Than a White Man's Religion demonstrates how the gospel can inspire positive change for modern culture.

Craig 4:41 PM,

[Now, of course, the only problem here is that the group includes a woman (Karen Jobes), and we all know that women are to be silent "in church".]

She teaches at Wheaton. I'm sure before she became a teacher, she learned in silence and submission for quite a few years. Do men usually learn in a different way in their seminaries or theology classes?

We don't notice the cultural change that happened historically when it was said that women were to learn. We fixate on the "silence" and "submission." Previously, women were not to learn. They were never a rabbi's disciple.

It's part of the naivety of reading in an extreme Biblicist hermeneutic, so that you don't need to consider knowing something about history so that you can understand what a passage meant to its original audience. This is necessary before deciding its contemporary application.

I think it's over correction, taking Sola Scriptura to the extreme, and Americans are more individualistic than everybody else in the history of the world. We tend to read something in English and then to think our individual thoughts about the first meaning that pops into our heads must be correct.

And I think this is fine when it comes to the main tenets of the faith that are necessary for salvation. It's not so reliable when we get down into the cultural weeds of an epistle written to a very specific church experiencing very specific problems in history, with the epistle written originally in another language, with the writer assuming the original readers would already be familiar with the context and the history that triggered the epistle in the first place.

Anonymous said...

As a clarification to add to my 9:36 AM comment, it still doesn't pertain to ordaining women. Teacher can be synonymous with pastor, but it depends on context. This is why the writer of Hebrews could say:

Hebrews 5:12-14
English Standard Version

12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, 13 for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.

Is your friend Michael Franzese?

He's an author and motivational/guest speaker at many NAR type churches such as Willow Creek, Greg Laurie's Harvest Fellowhship, etc.

He's even listed on a page of Catholic Speakers despite claiming to be born again.

He is not a pastor (unqualified - Divorced).

P.S. - I haven't listened to this guys whole message anywhere; and, perhaps you have a friend with a different Mob conversion story, but here is Franzese speaking with/teaching an Assemblies of God congregation in New Jersey. He must not be that opposed to continuationism (maybe he addressed it but I'm not watching that whole thing).

Greg Laurie is most definitely running a NAR "type" church. He may not be running around calling himself an "Apostle" but he associates with those that do and his worship music ministry is no different than Bethel and Hillsong and his buddy, Lou Engle's Passion ministries. I didn't call him a dominionist. Like Rick Warren, he's too big and too vanilla to delve into all that.

ALERT!

‘Red Caesarism’ is rightwing code – and some Republicans are listening
Jason Wilson
Argument for a ‘red Caesar’ to rule US may seem esoteric but conservative thinktank behind idea has connections to Trump

In June, the rightwing academic Kevin Slack published a book-length polemic claiming that ideas that had emerged from what he called the radical left were now so dominant that the US republic its founders envisioned was effectively at an end.

Slack, a politics professor at the conservative Hillsdale College in Michigan, made conspiratorial and extreme arguments now common on the antidemocratic right, that “transgenderism, anti-white racism, censorship, cronyism … are now the policies of an entire cosmopolitan class that includes much of the entrenched bureaucracy, the military, the media, and government-sponsored corporations”.

In a discussion of possible responses to this conspiracy theory, he wrote that the “New Right now often discusses a Red Caesar, by which it means a leader whose post-Constitutional rule will restore the strength of his people”.

For the last three years, parts of the American right have advocated a theory called Caesarism as an authoritarian solution to the claimed collapse of the US republic in conference rooms, podcasts and the house organs of the extreme right, especially those associated with the Claremont Institute thinktank.

Though on the surface this discussion might seem esoteric, experts who track extremism in the US say that due to their influence on the Republican party, the rightwing intellectuals who espouse these ideas about the attractions of autocracy present a profound threat to American democracy.

Their calls for a “red Caesar” are now only growing louder as Donald Trump, whose supporters attempted to violently halt the election of Joe Biden in 2020, has assumed dominant frontrunner status in the 2024 Republican nomination race. Trump, who also faces multiple criminal indictments, has spoken openly of attacking the free press in the US and having little regard for American constitutional norms should he win the White House again.

The idea that the US might be redeemed by a Caesar – an authoritarian, rightwing leader – was first broached explicitly by Michael Anton, a Claremont senior fellow and Trump presidential adviser.

Anton has been an influential rightwing intellectual since in 2016 penning The Flight 93 Election, a rightwing essay in which he told conservatives who were squeamish about Trump “charge the cockpit or you die”, referencing one of the hijacked flights of 9/11.

He gave Caesarism a passing mention in that essay, but developed it further in his 2020 book, The Stakes, defining it as a “form of one-man rule: halfway … between monarchy and tyranny”.

X? 8:52 PM,

I haven't read all the links. I have read the Lordship Salvation link.

I think the author is just a hyper Calvinist.

It doesn't mean that Greg Laurie is not heretical in any way. I'm not familiar with him.

I just don't know where to begin. The problem isn't too few scriptures to contradict this type of hyper Calvinism. The problem is too many. John was called the apostle of love, and he does say that we lie if we say we haven't sinned, and we have an advocate in Jesus who forgives our sins. But he also says:

1 John 2:3-6
New International Version
Love and Hatred for Fellow Believers

3 We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. 4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, love for God[a] is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.

Peter, who was forgiven for denying Jesus three times before the cock crowed just as Jesus had predicted, had this to say:

2 Peter 2:20-22
New International Version

20 If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21 It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. 22 Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,”[a] and, “A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.”

Jesus himself told the parable of the sower and the seed in Matthew 13, and then explained it privately to his disciples.

Matthew 13:18-23
New International Version

18 “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: 19 When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. 20 The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 22 The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. 23 But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown."

Persecution Expert Warns of Possible Invasion of Armenia by Azerbaijan

As the war between Israel and Hamas continues to ramp up, one persecution expert is warning of another crisis taking place in Armenia.

According to Faithwire, approximately 120,000 ethnic and Christian Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh, a small, landlocked region between Armenia and Azerbaijan, have left after Azerbaijan arrived and took the land.

“As of two weeks ago, virtually the entire Armenian population has left Nagorno-Karabakh, so this land that was part of the ancient Armenian Christian Homeland for thousands of years is now empty,” he told CBN News. “It really is a complete ethnic cleansing of the entire region.”

I haven't read the Box of Butterflies book, but the summary says it's about the blessings that abound in everyday life. In a sense it's true. Even the "goldilocks zone" of planet Earth is a blessing to all life on earth. We all enjoy many blessings we take for granted. In a sense we never have anything that we have not been given by God.

8:56 AM,

Wealth was a sign of blessing in the Old Testament. Abraham was wealthy. Yes, it's true that Jesus and his apostles emphasized repeatedly that it's better to store up your treasures in heaven. Where your treasures are, there your heart will be. And Christians, if they are truly in Christ, should give of what they have to their needier brothers and sisters.

I don't know how Greg Laurie acquired his wealth. I hope it was not through the prosperity gospel. If he did, then I'm all done defending him. I'm not going to spend all morning researching him, but I just wanted to say as a general principle that wealth in and of itself doesn't necessarily indicate somebody has to be a fake Christian.

The early Christians were Jews who knew they were soon to be martyred. The apostles all except for John knew they would be martyred and accepted it and even embraced it. They taught their followers to brace for the possibility of being martyred. They sold their property. They knew it was going to be overrun by Roman soldiers and they might die, anyway. It's the same reason Paul told them it might be better not to get married and have children! In the Old Testament, children were a blessing, too. But Jesus said woe to women who are with child or who are suckling babies when the armies surround Jerusalem.

The article about the Pope's evangelization program only said about Greg Laurie that he linked hands on a stage with Bishop Ricken in Oshkosh Wisconsin at a Lifest Celebration (a Christian music festival). The same article faulted him for linking hands with Rick Warren. That's it.

Is there any further evidence that Greg Laurie is part of a Jesuit conspiracy to lead the Protestant church back to Rome?

Being discerning is one thing, but paranoia that borders on slander is another thing.

It's almost as bad as a very possessive spouse who can't let their partner have any platonic relationships with any friends, family members or co-workers.

I was actually expecting to find out something pretty bad about Greg Laurie. Each time I looked, I didn't see anything that terrible. This time is no exception.

We shouldn't accuse if we don't want to be accused. By the standard we judge, we will be judged. By the amount of mercy we have, we will be shown that mercy.

Discernment would be more about the doctrines that Greg Laurie is teaching people. If you can prove that Greg Laurie is indoctrinating people into seeking after apparitions of Mary, please do provide the evidence, and I'll certainly take that seriously if you do.

Did you not watch this video?

Apostasy Report - Greg Laurie: Harvest Of Deception

https://youtu.be/p5k94etpWgs?si=X7n1GhrvDo8XKhYO

As you watcht that video and all the other people, like Francis Chan, that Greg laurie associates with and lifts up as brothers in Christ, recall this summation by heterodoxresesearch initiative about Laurie:

Laurie’s acceptance and promotion of their recommendations, indicates he trusts them and their ministries and does not view them as dangerous. To suggest that he doesn’t trust them and doesn’t view them as safe would be ridiculous. Who accepts and promotes recommendations from people they don’t trust or don’t view as safe?

Laurie is pointing people in the direction of dangerous wolves. This is what makes Greg Laurie and Harvest America dangerous and not worthy of your trust. Safe and sound people don’t point God’s sheep in dangerous directions.

This is more than a matter of Christian brothers disagreeing over different doctrines. The doctrines Franklin and Morris hold are dangerous. These men are wolves exploiting and feeding upon God’s sheep in the name of Jesus, and Greg Laurie is openly pointing the sheep to them. How can you trust a ministry or preacher who would point sheep to the wolves?

You may think this is all fine because they trumpet the name of Jesus and speak of saving souls. Again, remember those verses warning us about how truthful real deception looks?

Yes flying the name of Jesus and talking about revival looks really true and full of light, But you need to look closer to see the true deception behind it all. The deception behind it all is pointing people to ministries that promise a worldly prosperity, and the idea that your words have the creative power of God.

11:02 AM,

Are you kidding me? The video is over three hours long.

Francis Chan is new to me as well. I briefly read his Wikipedia entry and saw he was starting to think there might really be a presence of Christ in the Eucharist and that he allowed Catholic priests to pray over him.

The main objection is perceived baby steps toward ecumenism with Rome?

Did you watch the video? Is that the main point of it?

I'm not running blindly after any of these men. But I was expecting it to be worse, something like Joel Osteen not allowing people to shelter in his megachurch during the Houston flooding. Or maybe a covered up sex abuse scandal. Or a flagrant apostasy in doctrine.

I support discernment in regards to not undoing the Reformation.

I just don't see why you're determined to prove that Greg Laurie is terrible?

Just because people are gracious in some settings doesn't mean they are wholesale onboard with someone else's beliefs.

He's no brother in Christ with that discordant tone and cherry picking majoring in the minors way to stand for truth. He is far from the truth trying to keep his idea of some preferred letters of the law then self-righteously grieves the very Spirit of the law.

He has nothing about the Gospel to bring against Greg Laurie, all he can bring is his contempt for others who disagree with him.
What a snake. He preaches his own version of uniformity (to his beliefs) rather than look for true unity among others who believe in Jesus. Smear and gossip are his calling cards.

Well isn’t that hypocritical? You can “discern” me without any evidence other than my exercising biblical discrernment.

What do you have about the Gospel to bring against me? I gave a plethora of details about Laurie beyond his ecumenical and heretical associations including discussions regarding his distortions of the Gospel.

Seems all you can bring is your contempt for others who disagree with you.

La Lucerne Abbey (1143 AD) In France Is A New Beacon In The Night Of De-Christianization

"Solène Tadié, April 6, 2023

The latest religious news from France — focused on things like the disturbing increase in anti-Christian acts and church desecrations, the scandals within the Church, and the active promotion of bioethical laws contrary to the natural law — has overshadowed another fundamental movement at work for several years.

Underneath the European nation’s relentless wave of de-Christianization, solid new initiatives continue to quietly flourish, unperturbed by the surrounding adversity. They are destined to take root in the country’s landscape, like dozens of small fireflies in the night. . ."

1:06 PM,

I had never heard of Roma Downey before you made an issue of one tweet by Greg Laurie congratulating her on one book she wrote. I stated I hadn't read the book, but the summary wasn't a big deal to me, dealing as it was with everyday blessings.

The whole point wasn't that I was recommending an uncritical embrace of everything Roma Downey writes. Nobody here has ever brought up Roma Downey until now.

I had forgotten how Greg Laurie even came up. I realized you had asked somebody, "Is your friend Michael Franzese?" Then you went off on a tangent about Michael Franzese being NAR associated because of being associated with Greg Laurie, who you said is NAR associated.

Now here we are arguing about a woman nobody probably heard of before today, Roma Downey.

It's ridiculous.

Anonymous said...

Let's see, how did we get here?

X said he's never wrong but if he is, he'll be humble enough to admit it.

That led to Craig trying to get X to admit he's wrong about cessationism.

Eventually it led to commenting on the Holy Spirit moving in the Muslim world through dreams and visions.

Somebody said their friend had a dream that led to conversion.

X asked if the friend was Michael Franzese.

Then X went on a tangent about Michael Franzese being associated with Greg Laurie and Greg Laurie being associated with somebody else who is associated with the NAR.

This led to saying Greg Laurie is not NAR.

This led to many guilt-by-association comments about Greg Laurie.

Then X focused more on Roma Downey, because once Greg Laurie had tweeted about congratulating her on her book about everyday blessings, (maybe a book filled with New Age ideas, I haven't read it) called Box of Butterflies.

Then X knew he had me with Roma Downey who actually is blatant New Age, and it's a legitimate criticism for so many popular Christian leaders to promote her to their audiences as if her writings, films and ideas are "kosher for Christians."

Then I found that John MacArthur had actually been one of the many Christian leaders and celebrity pastors who have appeared onstage with Roma Downey.

X, will you now humbly admit that you were wrong about something?

Tick, tock.

That's pompous x for ya.

What company does he keep? With whom does he stand? Hm....

He continues his apologetics tour on this blog for Marxists, BLM, Antifa, Klaus Schwab globalism, "feral govment" overstepping it's bounds with our people, big corporate medicine and science, any and every social injustice to support woke culture that he backs because he is a marxist himself. He stands with the criminal George Floyd hoax instead of actual Christian brothers.

He ain't about the Gospel at all.

X, I recall you citing John MacArthur during your exchanges with Craig. Either you have to admit that you are wrong about John MacArthur being a reliable guide, or you have to admit that your standards about reliable guides are too unrealistic and unfair--and dare I say unmerciful at times. Which is it? Can you admit for once that you were wrong about something? Can you be humble?

I wasn’t the one that specifically posted about Roma Downey and I don’t think John MacArthur ever actually “shared” a stage with her. MacArthur was sick and/or once it was revealed who she was, she was disinvited or withdrew/withdrawn from the conference.

I also never claimed one singular remote association tainted any singular Pastor. It’s a conglomeration, like appearing with them alongside them on the same stage actually attesting to their wonderfulness, writing forwards to their books, inviting them to their own church or their own conference along with other questionable figures while giving them broad leeway to speak or sing heresies to your own flock.

Along with twisting of the Gospel - like word of faith and/or salvation by works heresies

I believe it was here that I previously discussed in the past some abuses of the internet “discernment” police who label every famous pastor with too broad heretical lashes for anything little they can find or drum up. Like you, they take such association questions to the next level. It’s getting harder to identify the wolves when you can find someone calling them all wolves. That’s where each of us has to be careful themselves.

I stand by “marking and avoiding” Greg Laurie. Likewise I do not say mark and avoid John Piper despite his known associations and conference speaking practices (sharing stages with heretics). If you want to mark & avoid John MacArthur that’s up to you. I certain don’t agree with you; but, it’s a free country and it doesn’t hurt my feelings. Discernment is hard.

X 6:37 PM,

It's not an issue of my needing to mark and avoid Greg Laurie. I was already avoiding him. I didn't even know about him before. To me it was a matter of not being quick to gossip about and to slander people. I'd never heard of Greg Laurie before. When I went to the Youtube video that was so critical of him, the one I didn't watch because it was over three hours long, I skimmed the comments and noticed things that made me feel upset.

Greg Laurie's son died at age 33, prompting gossip that he made his son a human sacrifice at age 33 because of the occult significance of that number! It is not Christian at all to gossip about and to slander people in that kind of way. The Bible is full of warnings against gossip and slander in both the Old and New Testaments.

I think we agree about abuses of internet discernment police. I think it's because people are looking for the great falling away, anxious about getting deceived and not being in the elect when Jesus returns. It goes too far into paranoia at times. It's been said that the way to recognize a counterfeit is to study the original.

I don't agree that discernment is hard. To me discernment doesn't mean that I am aware of all the faults of every person I need to criticize. It means I know what the truth is, so I know when it has been departed from.

But having a deep understanding of the Bible is not quick and easy, and in that sense, discernment can be hard.

The biggest danger is to baby Christians, but if they pray to ask for discernment, I believe they will receive what they ask for.

My problem with his post, too.

All the discernment in the world about doctrine with a hard heart is a form of heresy in itself.

That wrong spirit is does great damage to the body of Christ so I defend not everything about Greg Laurie's actions(and I know nothing of something scandalous and I have yet to hear heresy coming from his teaching) but the way too quick with way too little hard evidence to judge crowd, is a bane of my Lord's church. James 1:5 is a promise for those in earnest to know what God wants us to know, not what men say.

It's shameful what some "discernment ministries" put out there for content.
I don't read them. I read my Bible instead. God will sort everything and everyone out, not those who play '(un)holy spirit' regarding others.

Apparently there is no peace with many of the Palestinian people just as there is none with Hamas and Hezbolla (Iran, etc).

If they had really wanted peace there would have been peace by now, even a long time ago.
The Bible tells us there will be no peace, with a false peace that is coming in the near future, but no true peace until the Prince of Peace comes.

You're unteachable then.

Anonymous said...

11:29 AM,

I didn't understand for a long time that when Jesus talked about peace, he meant peace between mankind and God. That's why when he forgave the sinful woman who washed his feet with her tears and her hair, he told her to go in peace because her sins had been forgiven.

Jesus accepted that war would come upon Jerusalem, although he wept over Jerusalem as he anticipated it. Divine approval of war is one of the more difficult things to come to terms with, but it's about faith. It's about having the faith that God really knows best.

Sometimes people think they know best. American leadership thought it knew best when it dropped a bomb on Hiroshima. The same with bombing Dresden. Communists have many times thought they knew best when they had violent revolutions massively slaughtering people by the millions.

Audiences of television shows have accepted plot premises at times, like in Game of Thrones, when Daenerys Targaryen rode on the back of dragons that breathed fire on whole cities.

It's difficult to accept the wars of the Old Testament sometimes, but God was judging and was communicating through prophets. The Canaanites had been given 400 years to fill up the measure of their sins before being judged.

Now there is no more theocracy and no more prophets, so there's no comparison with the Old Testament.

The ethics of war are very difficult for me and for many Christians and non-Christians. But I do as a Christian accept the general principle that government holds the sword that has been delegated by God. If governments misuse it they will be judged for that. These two beliefs are a part of my faith. Even though so much doesn't make sense to me.

I think Jews should have just come to the United States, but what do I know. There they are in Israel, and now we will deal with the consequences, again and again, as the jihadis get stirred up again and again against both Israel and America. It is what it is, and it will be what it will be.

Anonymous said...

'The same with bombing Dresden': not quite, considering the Nazis were bombing London, Coventry and elsewhere across the British Isles. That which happened to Dresden was in response to the bombing of Coventry and was as much psychological as physical in terms of its war objectives.

When you have a real war on your soil threatening the extinction of your nation then you might understand. We were not about to be enslaved, have our women raped, our disabled people, Jewish, Gypsy and other racial groups making up British society, etc., horrifically murdered and experimented upon by the Germans, who at that time were overwhelmingly Nazis with a genocidal and Antichrist regime controlling them.

What I know is is that God said His Name is there (Jerusalem). 2 Chr 6:6

He has some unfinished business with Israel or they would not be there today (and the many accompanying miracles that brought that about after 2000 years). Nothing is an accident with God. Nothing. That they are there is that God has allowed it. It has a reason and a season to be worked out by God's terms and timing, not ours, so I accept that those people (the Jews are all over the map, for many it's secular, others it is religious) have an expectation of a homeland. God wants to bring Jews, His remnant, to faith in Messiah and websites such as One for Israel, are giving them the Gospel right there to reach them (and Palestinians) and have been getting untold numbers of hits by both people svisiting their site.
I find it amazing that that tiny sliver, compared to all the surrounding Arab/Muslim lands, is such a hotbed of contention that even international community is involved in and will be more so in the future too, if I have any grasp of prophecy at all. I know this is all leading up to something big, huge, that's for sure....(Is 17:1, Ps 8 3, and Ez 38-39 and other passages are not completely fulfilled just yet)..
The land was waste (Mark Twain wrote about that when he visited it in the 1867 and wondered why anyone would want it), and for a very long time, as long as it was in the hands of Ishmael and Esau's descendants (Palestinians, etc.), but with descendants of Jacob there on the ground it has flourished, a modern miracle...for such a time as this. God long ago called it an abomination for the land to belong to anyone besides those He intended--because again, His Name is there. A future abomination awaits on a scale that involves the entire earth and Satan will have his final stab at the grab for it. Ah...but a certain place called the place of the skull is there. And I believe God's claim upon it will be fully and finally known to every generation, for all time and eternity, as I read of the prophetic future about to be unfurled for us all.

Anonymous said...

cont..

So I say stay tuned. There's more to unfold and be revealed to the world regarding this small place and the small number (the Jews are among the smallest of people groups in the world) of people who treasure it as theirs. They have suffered unnecessary slaughter for wanting a piece of land for their own--made to wander since the diaspora--so I say what I think what the Bible says.
They are an ancient people meant for an ancient homeland by God's Word, not the word of men.

Also to notice is Arab against Arab hate for the Palestinian people, yet Israel has been making allowance for them there, but asking for peace to coincide. Is that too much to ask? The leadership of the Palestinians have been the ones the rip off their own. And they teach their babies to hate. Hating is devastating to any people.

I read Tass Saada's book. Have heard him on a Christian broadcast. He was side by side with Yassar Arafat and the Palestinian cause--until he was miraculously saved by Jesus. His perspective is to love the Jewish people because he sees God's plan for them, and his people, seeing the blood tie between their common ancestor and the promises of God for each. Peace will come. But on God's terms.....because He said so.
And good enough for me.

Grace is very messy, because people are. Sin has made an absolute bloody mess of this world. Look at families. Look at our own. Look at a world of families of peoples. Salvation for the world (by faith not by works we believe) was very, very messy, too. What hath God wrought to bring the world, from every tongue and tribe and nation--also a remnant among the many eras of millions and now billions--such a mercy that only He could bring? Can we really know and understand why and how He did such a thing??? Really. How humbling for mankind (and me) to reckon with the beauty of His Plan, His Ways told to us in His Eternal Word. Is all so outside of anything we could ask or think.
God will clarify though, when we behold Jesus. Completely.
My faith says wait for it. I imagine yours does too.

God does have the last word.

The settlement of the state that uses the name 'Israel' has no more to do with God's determining such (though your point implies it does) than the siege and sacking of Christian Constantinople and the establishment of the Muslim Turks there.

There are people of physical Jewish heritage who are absolutely against the establishment of the Israeli state and believe such to be in rebellion to God. You are aware the state of Israel was established by atheists, aren't you?

'Lord' Lionel Walter Rothschild never married but had two mistresses (one of whom bore him a daughter). It was to him, 'Lord' Arthur Balfour's 1917 Declaration was addressed. A Call for Repentance: An Open Letter from Palestinian Christians to Western Church Leaders and Theologians 20th of October, 2023.

https://www.change.org/p/an-open-letter-from-palestinian-christians-to-western-church-leaders-and-theologians

“Learn to do right; seek justice; defend the oppressed” (Isa 1:17).

We, at the undersigned Palestinian Christian institutions and grassroots movements, grieve and lament the renewed cycle of violence in our land. As we were about to publish this open letter, some of us lost dear friends and family members in the atrocious Israeli bombardment of innocent civilians on October 19, 2023, Christians included, who were taking refuge in the historical Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Porphyrius in Gaza. Words fail to express our shock and horror with regard to the on-going war in our land. We deeply mourn the death and suffering of all people because it is our firm conviction that all humans are made in God’s image. We are also profoundly troubled when the name of God is invoked to promote violence and religious national ideologies.

Further, we watch with horror the way many western Christians are offering unwavering support to Israel’s war against the people of Palestine. While we recognize the numerous voices that have spoken and continue to speak for the cause of truth and justice in our land, we write to challenge western theologians and church leaders who have voiced uncritical support for Israel and to call them to repent and change. Sadly, the actions and double standards of some Christian leaders have gravely hurt their Christian witness and have severely distorted their moral judgment with regards to the situation in our land.

We come alongside fellow Christians in condemning all attacks on civilians, especially defenseless families and children. Yet, we are disturbed by the silence of many church leaders and theologians when it is Palestinian civilians who are killed. We are also horrified by the refusal of some western Christians to condemn the ongoing Israeli occupation of Palestine, and, in some instances, their justification of and support for the occupation. Further, we are appalled by how some Christians have legitimized Israel’s ongoing indiscriminate attacks on Gaza, which have, so far, claimed the lives of more than 3,700 Palestinians, the majority of whom are women and children. These attacks have resulted in the wholesale destruction of entire neighborhoods and the forced displacement of over one million Palestinians. The Israeli military has utilized tactics that target civilians such as the use of white phosphorus, the cutting off of water, fuel, and electricity, and the bombardment of schools, hospitals, and places of worship —including the heinous massacre at Al-Ahli Anglican-Baptist Hospital and the bombardment of the Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Porphyrius which wiped out entire Palestinian Christian families...

[CONTINUED] A Call for Repentance: An Open Letter from Palestinian Christians to Western Church Leaders and Theologians 20th of October, 2023.

https://www.change.org/p/an-open-letter-from-palestinian-christians-to-western-church-leaders-and-theologians

Moreover, we categorically reject the myopic and distorted Christian responses that ignore the wider context and the root causes of this war: Israel’s systemic oppression of the Palestinians over the last 75 years since the Nakba, the ongoing ethnic cleansing of Palestine, and the oppressive and racist military occupation that constitutes the crime of apartheid. This is precisely the horrific context of oppression that many western Christian theologians and leaders have persistently ignored, and even worse, have occasionally legitimized using a wide range of Zionist theologies and interpretations. Moreover, Israel’s cruel blockade of Gaza for the last 17 years has turned the 365-square-kilometer Strip into an open-air prison for more than two million Palestinians—70% of whom belong to families displaced during the Nakba—who are denied their basic human rights. The brutal and hopeless living conditions in Gaza under Israel’s iron fist have regrettably emboldened extreme voices of some Palestinian groups to resort to militancy and violence as a response to oppression and despair. Sadly, Palestinian non-violent resistance, which we remain wholeheartedly committed to, is met with rejection, with some western Christian leaders even prohibiting the discussion of Israeli apartheid as reported by Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and B’Tselem, and as long asserted by both Palestinians and South Africans.

Time and again, we are reminded that western attitudes towards Palestine-Israel suffer from a glaring double standard that humanizes Israeli Jews while insisting on dehumanizing Palestinians and whitewashing their suffering. This is evident in general attitudes towards the recent Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip that killed thousands of Palestinians, the apathy towards the murder of the Palestinian-American Christian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh in 2022, and the killing of more than 300 Palestinians including 38 children in the West Bank this year before this recent escalation.

It seems to us that this double standard reflects an entrenched colonial discourse that has weaponized the Bible to justify the ethnic cleansing of indigenous peoples in the Americas, Oceania, and elsewhere, the slavery of Africans and the transatlantic slave trade, and decades of apartheid in South Africa. Colonial theologies are not passé; they continue in wide-ranging Zionist theologies and interpretations that have legitimized the ethnic cleansing of Palestine and the vilification and dehumanization of Palestinians—Christians included—living under systemic settler-colonial apartheid. Further, we are aware of the western Christian legacy of Just War Theory that was used to justify dropping atomic bombs over innocent civilians in Japan during World War II, the destruction of Iraq and the decimation of its Christian population during the latest American war on Iraq, as well as the unwavering and uncritical support for Israel against the Palestinians in the name of moral-supremacy and “self-defense.” Regrettably, many western Christians across wide denominational and theological spectra adopt Zionist theologies and interpretations that justify war, making them complicit in Israel’s violence and oppression. Some are also complicit in the rise of the anti-Palestinian hate speech, which we are witnessing in numerous western countries and media outlets today...

[CONTINUED] A Call for Repentance: An Open Letter from Palestinian Christians to Western Church Leaders and Theologians 20th of October, 2023.

https://www.change.org/p/an-open-letter-from-palestinian-christians-to-western-church-leaders-and-theologians

Although many Christians in the West do not have a problem with the theological legitimization of war, the vast majority of Palestinian Christians do not condone violence—not even by the powerless and occupied. Instead, Palestinian Christians are fully committed to the way of Jesus in creative nonviolent resistance (Kairos Palestine, §4.2.3), which uses “the logic of love and draw[s] on all energies to make peace” (§4.2.5). Crucially, we reject all theologies and interpretations that legitimize the wars of the powerful. We strongly urge western Christians to come alongside us in this. We also remind ourselves and fellow Christians that God is the God of the downtrodden and the oppressed, and that Jesus rebuked the powerful and lifted up the marginalized. This is at the heart of God’s conception of justice. Therefore, we are deeply troubled by the failure of some western Christian leaders and theologians to acknowledge the biblical tradition of justice and mercy, as first proclaimed by Moses (Deut 10:18; 16:18–20; 32:4) and the prophets (Isa 1:17; 61:8; Mic 2:1–3, 6:8; Amos 5:10–24), and as exemplified and embodied in Christ (Matt 25:34–46; Luke 1:51–53; 4:16–21).

Finally, and we say it with a broken heart, we hold western church leaders and theologians who rally behind Israel’s wars accountable for their theological and political complicity in the Israeli crimes against the Palestinians, which have been committed over the last 75 years. We call upon them to reexamine their positions and to change their direction, remembering that God “will judge the world in justice” (Acts 17:31). We also remind ourselves and our Palestinian people that our sumud (“steadfastness”) is anchored in our just cause and our historical rootedness in this land. As Palestinian Christians, we also continue to find our courage and consolation in the God who dwells with those of a contrite and humble spirit (Isa 57:15). We find courage in the solidarity we receive from the crucified Christ, and we find hope in the empty tomb. We are also encouraged and empowered by the costly solidarity and support of many churches and grassroots faith movements around the world, challenging the dominance of ideologies of power and supremacy. We refuse to give in, even when our siblings abandon us. We are steadfast in our hope, resilient in our witness, and continue to be committed to the Gospel of faith, hope, and love, in the face of tyranny and darkness. “In the absence of all hope, we cry out our cry of hope. We believe in God, good and just. We believe that God’s goodness will finally triumph over the evil of hate and of death that still persist in our land. We will see here ‘a new land’ and ‘a new human being’, capable of rising up in the spirit to love each one of his or her brothers and sisters” (Kairos Palestine, §10).

"You are aware the state of Israel was established by atheists, aren't you? "
So?
Since when did any atheist stop God's plans?????
Men and their ideas of kingdoms come and go. God's kingdom won't be.

I mentioned some have a secular view about being there and Judaism as the Jews know it is currently without Christ the Messiah--at the moment--but God's not done.

God's not done with them or they would be gone already. No one on earth has had more attempts at being annihilated than the Jewish people. Why haven't they been done away with by now? Because said there will always be an Israel.
35 Thus says the Lord,
Who gives the sun for a light by day,
The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night,
Who disturbs the sea,
And its waves roar
(The Lord of hosts is His name):
36 “If those ordinances depart From before Me, says the Lord, Then the seed of Israel shall also cease From being a nation before Me forever.” Jeremiah 31:35,36
Are the sun, moon, and the stars still in the sky????
And Jeremiah 33: 17 says There won't cease to be a son of David on the throne before Him. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the son of David so He will take His place on that throne in Jerusalem in the upcoming future. Jerusalem will split in two from east to west when He steps down. Zech 14:14. By the way, it has split in two before, in the 1st century-- but that was north and south.

There are things God said that have yet to happen..
Do you believe they will, just as He said they will?

So He has a remnant among them too.

Just wait.

You'll see.

Nobody stops God's Will for the world, neither Jew nor Gentile.
In fact, He doesn't need our cooperation (or our permission) to do it.
He has an unshakeable kingdom coming. Hebrews 12:26-29 is yet future.

The Lord's going to rock this world.
You ready for that?

Anonymous said...

6:16 pm. You're delusional to believe that! The remnant is gathered to the body of Christ, not to the rogue state of Israel.

"and the killing of more than 300 Palestinians including 38 children in the West Bank this year before this recent escalation."

Hamas uses their own people as collateral damage and has been documented for years, using Palestinian citizens as human shields.

6:33 PM
The remnant saved will include Jews who come to Christ in that time coming soon.

Why would you exclude people whom God will include?
It's His plan, not yours.

Anonymous said...

Why are you excluding the gentile nations as God's remnant?

6:16 PM,

'No one on earth has had more attempts at being annihilated than the Jewish people.'

You do realise many Jewish people are not only not Israeli, but are against the genocidal actions of the Israeli regime and many religious Jews of which are against the existence of the state of Israel and see such as being in rebellion to God.

God does not will evil, nor is God a racist. Even Moses was not allowed to enter the Promised Land (which was a shadow of the things to come). People are chosen by choosing God and obeying him.

Psalms 68:6, Isaiah 1:!7

See also: Isaiah 8:21-2 ) ( Matthew 24:6-7 Matthew 24:21 ) .

'Nobody stops God's Will for the world, neither Jew nor Gentile'.

Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek [Gentile], there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

12 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

What is meant by 'nation' here? The word literally means, 'to be born of', so who is this nation that God made of Abraham?

Galatians 3:14-29
King James Version
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.

16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

20 Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.

21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.

22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Furthermore, 6:16 PM,

1 John 2: 15-25

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

What the Bible says about Jerusalem as Sodom and Egypt
(From Forerunner Commentary)

Isaiah 1:10

In verse 10, He is not speaking to Sodom. Sodom was already gone. He is speaking to end-time Israel.

Isaiah 1:10-11

God has had it up to here with the hypocritical sacrifices that we make in mention of His name and so-called worship of the God of heaven. Our conduct on the streets and in business and in our homes nowhere near measures even to Sodom's standards. Now what is so weird about God comparing Israel to Sodom, Egypt, and Babylon? There is nothing weird about it at all! Thus God calling Israel "BABYLON, MYSTERY, THE GREAT HARLOT" (Revelation 17:5) continues to give evidence of the magnitude of Israel's unfaithfulness to her Husband and Benefactor—God.

John W. Ritenbaugh

Revelation 11:7-8

English Standard Version
And when they [the two witnesses] have finished their testimony, the beast that rises from the bottomless pit will make war on them and conquer them and kill them, and their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city that symbolically is called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was crucified.

Revelation 17:6 English Standard Version

And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I marveled greatly.

David was obedient to God and was therefore, a righteous king over physical Israel, a shadow of the true New Jerusalem (City of Peace), which descends from Heaven. David was, therefore, an earthly, though God guided, ruler. Jesus Christ sitting on the throne of David, means Jesus Christ is King over all believers, spiritual Israel.

6:16 PM,

You do, therefore, mock God by your twisting of Scripture.
You are certainly NOT ready to meet God, as you have no love for your Christian brethren in Palestine, but do secretly rejoice at their murder at the hands of racially supremacist, Christ rejecting 'spiritual gentiles', albeit they are physically Jewish.

Many Jewish people (even those who have not yet accepted Jesus, but have love as the good Samaritan did) do care for the ordinary Palestinian people and the atrocities which have been inflicted upon them since the Nakba. Moreover, seeing as you're so fixated on race, you do know DNA studies have shown the Palestinian people as having a significant amount of Jewish blood in their veins, don't you (despite the Israeli Government having commissioned DNA tests to try and link the Palestinians to the Philistines (a long extinct nation), following the discovery of a Philistine cemetery)!

By your own words, you have shown the blood of Christian Palestinians, Palestinian children and innocent civilians to be on your hands and you shall answer for such murderous hatred in your heart on Judgement Day.

Matthew 3:2-3 KJV
and saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, Make his paths straight.

You don't understand that there are going to be future believers who are Jews who come to repentance and faith in Jesus?

That doesn't contradict the Scriptures.

Why are looking to omit those Jews who, are not yet but will become at a future appointed time by God, believers in the Lord Jesus?

You don't know who they are, but God does. Let God work and stop trying to limit His plan with the Jewish people--some of whom will perish in unbelief (like anyone else who doesn't trust the atoning sacrifice of Jesus) but some will come to Christ by way of His cross.
His blood was shed for them too you know...

What in the world are you talking about? That is a hateful lie.

"I read Tass Saada's book. But on God's terms.....because He said so."

Tass Saada is a Palestinian Christian, a brother in the Lord.

and I wrote this:
"God wants to bring Jews, His remnant, to faith in Messiah and websites such as One for Israel, are giving them the Gospel right there to reach them (and Palestinians) and have been getting untold numbers of hits by both people visiting their site." They are reaching out with the love of God without favoritism, without partiality. Why are you misunderstanding this?

I support this ministry that shares the Gospel with Jews and Palestinians both. They love their fellow Jews and their Palestinian brothers too. That reflects the heart of God for people because God is not a respecter of people. Jesus died and rose again--for all!

Covenant Theology Is Not Replacement Theology
by R. SCOTT CLARK on August 21, 2013 | 83 Comments
Recently I had a question asking whether “covenant theology” is so-called “replacement theology.” Those dispensational critics of Reformed covenant theology who accuse it of teaching that the New Covenant church has “replaced” Israel do not understand historic Reformed covenant theology. They are imputing to Reformed theology a way of thinking about redemptive history that has more in common with dispensationalism than it does with Reformed theology.

First, the very category of “replacement” is foreign to Reformed theology because it assumes a dispensational, Israeleo-centric way of thinking. It assumes that the temporary, national people was, in fact, intended to be the permanent arrangement. Such a way of thinking is contrary to the promise in Gen. 3:15. The promise was that there would be a Savior. The national people was only a means to that end, not an end in itself. According to Paul in Ephesians 2:11-22, in Christ the dividing wall has been destroyed. It cannot be rebuilt. The two peoples (Jews and Gentiles) have been made one in Christ. Among those who are united to Christ by grace alone, through faith alone, there is no Jew nor Gentile (Rom. 10:12; Gal. 3:28; Col. 3:11).

At least some forms of dispensationalism have suggested that God intended the national covenant with Israel to be permanent. According to Reformed theology, the Mosaic covenant was never intended to be permanent. According to Galatians 3 (and chapter 4), the Mosaic covenant was a codicil to the Abrahamic covenant. A codicil is added to an existing document. It doesn’t replace the existing document. Dispensationalism reverses things. It makes the Abrahamic covenant a codicil to the Mosaic. Hebrews 3 says that Moses was a worker in Jesus’ house. Dispensationalism makes Jesus a worker in Moses’ house.

Second, with respect to salvation, Reformed covenant theology does not juxtapose Israel and the church. For Reformed theology, the church has always been the Israel of God and the Israel of God has always been the church. Reformed covenant theology distinguishes the old and new covenants (2 Cor. 3; Heb. 7-10). It recognizes that the church was temporarily administered through a typological, national people, but the church has existed since Adam, Noah, and Abraham; and it existed under Moses and David; and it exists under Christ.

Third, the church has always been one, under various administrations, under types, shadows, and now under the reality in Christ, because the object of faith has always been one. Jesus the Messiah was the object of faith of the typological church (Heb. 11; Luke 24; 2 Cor. 3), and he remains the object of faith.

Fourth, despite the abrogation of the national covenant by the obedience, death, and resurrection of Christ (Col. 2:14), the NT church has not “replaced” the Jews. Paul says that God “grafted” the Gentiles into the people of God. Grafting is not replacement, it is addition.

It has been widely held by Reformed theologians that there will be a great conversion of Jews. Some call this “anti-Semitism.” This isn’t anti-Semitism, it is Christianity. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). The alternative to Jesus’ exclusivist claim is universalism, which is nothing less than an assault on the person and finished work of Christ. Other Reformed writers understand the promises in Rom. 11 to refer only to the salvation of all the elect (Rom. 2:28) rather than to a future conversion of Jews. In any event, Reformed theology is not anti-Semitic. We have always hoped and prayed for the salvation, in Christ, sola gratia et sola fide, of all of God’s elect, Jew and Gentile alike.

6:16 PM / 8:08 PM,

You wrote 'That is a hateful lie', yet did you not write at 6:36 PM, 'Hamas uses their own people as collateral damage and has been documented for years, using Palestinian citizens as human shields.'? You are the liar here, for you are of your father the Devil, the father of lies, who was a liar and a murderer from the beginning. Repent!

So, you are trying to claim that whole neighborhoods wiped out in Gaza city and elsewhere in the Gaza Strip, including the bombing of hospitals, churches and mosques, UN run refuges in schools, etc., including using white phosphorous bombs (which burns through skin to the bone of anyone anywhere near its widely dispersive spray), are discriminate, i.e., aimed at Hamas and ordinary Palestinians are just in the way, held as human shields?

Firstly, in case your small, no-doubt never left your country, little mind is unaware, the Gaza strip is 25 miles long and ranging from 3.7 to 7 and a half miles wide, with over two million people living there. It is surrounded by high walls and no access to the sea or out of the country. It is under siege, with no fuel, electricity, water, food or medical supplies.

Secondly, Hamas have a vast network of very deep tunnels, too deep underground to be affected by the bombs being dropped above. The Hamas terrorists are no doubt in those tunnels and not at ground level where the bombs are dropping and killing thousands of innocent men, women and children (both Christian and Muslim).

You, therefore, have their blood on your hands because of the hatred in your heart and dehumanisation of the Palestinian people suffering genocide. You are, ipso facto, of the same spirit that possessed those who excused the Nazis in their mass murder of Jews, Gypsies and others.

Hamas is not the Palestinian people, it is their bloody leadership who robs the many millions given for the people to improve their lives but instead Hamas only rips them off to buy weapons and pay killers. They keep the hate going.

But sadly there are Palestinian people who go along with Hamas that do everything to prevent peace.

Not all though.

Evidently you missed this at 2:05 PM:

"Look at a world of families of peoples. Is all so outside of anything we could ask or think."

My post left no one out of the God's opportunity to come to faith by His grace to the world... from every tongue, and tribe, and nation, God will have His remnant.

Should you take your time to be able to read more closely?

The stealing of another people’s land and resources is not something Jesus Christ would have us do. There is nothing ‘miraculous’ nor Christian about the destruction wrought on the Palestinian people by the Zionist entity that calls itself Israel. It is not somethIng Jesus Christ approves of, but it barbarism and an invasion.

Your attempt to weasel your way around your past comments without admitting the truth of the Palestinian people’s immense suffering serves only to show you know nothing of Jesus Christ, but are merely a brain-sullied and dishonest wolf among the sheep. There is not a hint of true compassion or understanding for even the Christian Palestinians and YOU shall be answerable for such on Judgement Day. I suggest you read Matthew 25 and meditate well upon it, in prayer, word and deed. Also, note, if anyone harms even one of these little ones remember it will be better if a millstone were tied around their neck and they were thrown into the sea, you who excuse the mass-murder of Palestinian children happening right now.

Dear Constance,

Could you please explain how New Age health modalities are harmful? A friend is using patches for pain that have New Age jargon (energy, light, Qi, etc.) on the website promoting them. They are working and I don't believe it is a placebo effect but possibly something in the patch that may be mind altering even though the founder claims the patches are not transdermal. I myself tried the patch for a week and had significant pain relief and strange sleep where I felt as if my mind was still alert even while I was asleep. On one video the owner said to the MD interviewer that he has had an out of body experience. I'm very concerned for my friend. any info you can give me is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Details of the attack were hushed up in both countries. Israel claimed that her forces mistook the Liberty for an Egyptian ship, and our government quietly accepted that excuse despite evidence to the contrary. No ship in our history has ever received such damage and casualties by accident. Then our government downplayed the intensity of the surveillance and the severity of the attack, and imposed a news blackout on the crew to keep the story under control. The official version is that the Liberty was reconnoitered only three times and only from a great distance. The American people were told that the air attack lasted only five minutes and that it was followed by a single torpedo and an immediate apology and offer of assistance. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Modern Israel is so confusing, but I feel we do best if we stick to the Bible and regard all else as human speculation.

Can we eliminate the possibilities of what God may accomplish in the modern secular nation state of Israel in the future? No, but isn't that true of all nations?

Let's not allow convoluted human speculations to take priority over the most basic, clear teachings of Jesus Christ. Then we won't go wrong.

Whatever he wants to do with Israel, if he had a plan he wanted us to cooperate with, he would have told us so. Could we agree to be careful not to do Bible eisegesis in the news headlines as if they are the next books of the Bible being written by God in real time?

June 8, 1967, the day I graduated from high school, Israel's attack on the USS LIBERTY

Death on the USS Liberty: Questions Remain After 35 Years By William Triplett

The story of the USS Liberty is complicated. For example, while a granite headstone in Section 34 of Arlington National Cemetery is designated as a group memorial for the 34 crewmen who were killed when Israeli air and naval forces attacked the ship off the coast of Gaza on June 8, 1967, only six names are inscribed on it. It's doubtful, however, that those six men are even buried there.

"Those men aren't in that hole," says Joseph Lentini, a Liberty survivor who was wounded in the attack. "What's in that hole is a body bag that has all the parts they couldn't identify."

The mass grave isn't the kind of mass grave the federal government would like you to think it is. Rather, it's a perversely appropriate emblem of the decades of pain and humiliation that have been heaped on the Liberty's dead and living. But the memorial is a testament to the survivors' struggle to maintain dignity and honor in the face of gross indignity and dishonor-not to mention unconscionable governmental denial and indifference.

It's a struggle Vietnam veterans have known all too well. But while Vietnam veterans have won some of their long-overdue recognition, Liberty veterans and the families of her dead don't yet know what that feels like.

The Liberty, a U.S. Navy intelligence-gathering ship deployed to the eastern Mediterranean to monitor Egyptian air force activity during the Arab-Israeli Six-Day War, neared Gaza in broad daylight on June 8. Israeli reconnaissance aircraft overflew her at least twice. A short while later, unmarked Israeli warplanes streaked in, strafing, bombing, and rocketing the lightly armed ship in international waters. When the aircraft withdrew, Israeli torpedo boats appeared, firing at least one torpedo that struck the Liberty dead center. After the assault finally ended, 34 Americans were dead and 171 were wounded.

Israel claimed-and still does-that the incident was a tragic case of mistaken identity. Israel Defense Forces commanders and pilots said they thought they were attacking an Egyptian freighter. In Washington, the Johnson administration instantly accepted Israel's claim, and this has been the government's official position on the matter ever since. The Liberty's survivors and their supporters, however, have argued for decades that Israel was fully aware it was attacking an American vessel.

The debate over these opposing claims still rages. What cannot be debated, though, is that almost immediately following the assault the U.S. government acted as if it had something to hide. The Liberty's survivors were quickly transferred to disparate and distant assignments and were threatened with jail if they ever discussed the attack with anyone, including family members. They were watched and monitored. Meanwhile, the government and the upper echelons of the Navy portrayed the attack and its aftermath as a non-event.

Decades of pain and humiliation have been heaped on the Liberty's dead and living.

11:04 PM,

A remnant of all twelve tribes was already saved. These formed the roots and trunk of the Israel of God, along with all of the dead Old Testament saints. Actually, Jesus told the Sadducees that God is the God of the Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and it is present tense and that He is the God of the living, not the dead. So it points to the souls of the Old Testament saints resting in "Abraham's Bosom" while they await their ressurection. If the ressurection didn't already happen for them, at least their souls were able to leave "Abraham's Bosom" to go to heaven after the work of Jesus on the cross.

Peter ministered to the lost ten tribes. He wrote to the cities where the Assyrians had taken them. If you check against the Old Testament you can see it. These lost ten tribes were not Jews. Jews were of the house of Judah. You probably already know that. A remnant of Jews were saved, too.

The Jews of Jerusalem and Judea had an amnesty of forty years to come into the New Covenant. The Old Covenant ended when the temple was destroyed. It depended on animal sacrifices to be performed in the temple in Jerusalem. Many Jews came into the New Covenant during and after Pentecost.

The remnants of all twelve tribes of Israel have been saved, and there were about 1,500 years (I think) of Old Testament saints who were saved as well. Plus Adam, Eve, Seth, Enoch, Noah and his family, and many others who came before Israel.

All of these people formed the roots and the trunk of the Israel of God. Then gentile branches were grafted onto the Israel of God and have been getting grafted on for the last 2,000 years.

God's plan to work with Israel and give up the rest of the nations to be delegated to angels, was only a temporary plan. He was done with the nations after the Tower of Babel. But Pentecost signified the reversal of the confusion of tongues. This was part of the significance of gaining the ability to speak in tongues.

God's promises to Israel were accomplished. Jesus's mission was accomplished. Paul said we're not to go back into bondage to be the children of the slave woman, Hagar. Spiritually those who refused the New Covenant--and made the temple and the Old Covenant law of Moses into idols that were above God Himself rather than merely types and shadows of God and heaven--Paul said that spiritually these were not children of the promise.

The branches that were broken off, the unbelieving Jews, can be grafted back on. It has been happening leaf by leaf for a very long time, probably more than anybody realizes, besides God.

But there isn't something special in Jewish DNA to idolize, and there is really no such thing as Jewish DNA, anyway. I'm not engaging in hyperbole. Chabad Lubavitch teaches that Jewish DNA is superior to gentile DNA. There is no proof that there is even any such thing as Jewish DNA. Jews right now are not a race. They are not even an ethnicity. They are not even a religion, since most are secular. They identify with an ancestry, and it's a tradition of men.

The beast with two horns in Revelation that looks like a lamb but speaks like a dragon--that beast was Judaism persecuting Christians, including mainly Jewish converts to Christianity, like Stephen and James. It's an unpleasant truth of history that the Jews were out to get the Christians in the very beginning. It doesn't justify any historical pogroms or the Holocaust. But it's still part of history--ancient history.

The heresy of Dispensationalism is that which is primarily to blame for the lie that God has an apartheid two tier system based on race: an inferior one for the physical gentiles and another ‘favoured’ one for those who (identify as) racially Jewish (notwithstanding, only two of tribes, those of Judah and Benjamin are counted here; the other ten tribes having been scattered AMONGST THE NATIONS). Ruth was not racially Jewish and was herself a convert, yet God blessed her enough to give testimony to Him to where a book of the Tanakh (Old Testament) is named after her.

The atrocities which have been perpetrated against the Jews and other religious and racial groups are of the Devil, yet in no way does the reality of such atrocities negate the words of God spoken of throughout the Holy Bible. Obedience to God has always been conditional to the Covenant. There is no replacement, but rather a renewal, a reiteration of such, where the House of Israel are those who obey God and recognise the Messiah of Spiritual Israel (where there is neither Jew or Greek), Jesus Christ as their Lord, Saviour and King. These, whether physically Jewish or physically Gentile, are the children of God, His chosen people, for he who has the Son has the Father also. Yet he who denies the Son does not have the Son and neither has he the Father. To not deny Jesus Christ doesn’t just mean having a belief and lip-service (for even the demons believe and they tremble at the Fiery Judgement awaiting them). To not deny Him means to serve Him and serve others for without love our faith is dead (this faith is evidenced through love via good works, as expressed by James, where he states, you show me your faith without works and I’ll show you my faith by my works). Of course, we are not saved by works, but by Grace, lest any man should boast, but our works are evidence of our obedience and bearing good fruits, for a tree which does not bear good fruits withers and its branches shall be tossed into the fire.

11:04 PM,

Jesus said clearly that his kingdom is not of this world. He told Peter to put away his sword, because who live by the sword will die by it. He said it he wanted to he could immediately call mighty armies of angels. He said his servants would be fighting for him if his kingdom were of this world. He could have done it just the way Joshua took Jericho, which was mostly with the help of angels. Why didn't he already do it? Is it because he was waiting on his bride, the only one he really loves, all the unbelieving Jews, to become his queen before he can be the king? That is a very sentimental idea, and besides, a remnant of Jews was saved.

Jesus has a betrothed, and he's waiting for her to become perfected. She is the Israel of God. Is he going to dump her for physical Israel in the near future?

The significance of the Palestinian converts is not primarily that they are helping the modern, secular nation state of Israel. It's that their souls will be saved, and they demonstrate their change of heart by behaving morally. Just because they believe in Dispensationalism doesn't mean it has to be right. Not all the Palestinian Christians believe in Dispensationalism. Some belong to the Orthodox church, which holds to a more age old amillennialism (the reign of Jesus is ongoing, in his kingdom of heaven, and in the church on earth).

I repeat, we are saved by Grace and are called to carry our Cross and deny ourselves. Yet Grace is cheapened and the word of God made of no effect by not surrendering to God and allowing Him to change us so we are born again into a new creature, one obedient to God, to love our neighbours as ourselves; to do unto others as we would have done unto ourselves and when we give in whatever capacity to those in need, to not let our left hand know what our right hand is doing.

Matthew 25
King James Version
25 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Matthew 25 KJV

14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.

17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.

18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.

19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.

20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.

23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:

25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:

27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.

28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 25 KJV

31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Darby’s heresy of Dispensationalism arose in the 19th Century, as did the heresies of Mormonism and the Jehovah’s Witness cult.

Let God be true and every man a liar!

You will answer to God for your support of the ungodly Zionist regime and its persecution of Christians and the innocent. Churches destroyed and taken over by Christ-rejecting people identifying as Jewish, many of such ‘settlers’ being first generation Americans, turfing the indigenous Palestinian people out of their churches, mosques and homes and stealing their property. There is nothing Godly about this and the genocide happening to the Palestinians is as evil as any other Genocide which proceeded it in modern times.

Dispensationalism is the idea that God deals differently with people in difference periods (dispensations) of history. The hallmark sign of Dispensationalism is the idea that the Church is a separate entity from Israel. That Israel represents Jews only, and that God is dealing with them differently than he does the Church.

Probably one of the greatest errors in modern Christianity is the theological error of Dispensationalism, which leads to the political error of Christian Zionism. Dispensationalism is the idea that God deals differently with people at different periods of history. Most notable is the notion that God deals with Jews and Gentiles differently. The premise comes from John Nelson Darby (AD 1800 – 1882), a rogue Anglican priests turned Evangelical, who came up with an exotic eschatology that was based entirely on futurism. What made Darby’s futurism (which was part of his Dispensational belief system) unique was the way he separated Christ’s Church from Kingdom Israel, a totally unbiblical concept. His error is subtle at first, which is probably why most novice Bible students usually miss it, but in time it snowballs into a colossal heresy that leads not only to a warped understanding of Christianity, but also an error that puts the Church and Israel on two different paths of salvation, and ultimately places Jews above Christians in God’s eschatological plan. Christianity (the Church) becomes a mere afterthought, a happy little accident of God’s real intentions with Israel (the Jews). Christians are then measured by their political support of the Israeli Republic. “True Christians” unconditionally support the Israeli Republic, while “false Christians” or the “Synagogue of Satan” do not. It truly is a warped theology.

Dispensationalism was popularized by the Scofield Reference Bible, a product of Cyrus Ingerson Scofield (AD 1843 – 1921), also known as C.I. Scofield. This Reference Bible is filled with the Dispensationalism notes of John Nelson Darby in the page margins. Because of the copious cross-references as well, the Scofield Reference Bible became a favorite tool for Evangelical pastors all over the United States and Canada. Through this Bible, Darby’s strange and exotic eschatology, along with his modernist errors, became the backbone of modern Evangelicalism.

Of course, the biggest problem with Dispensationalism is that it’s just plain wrong, and it flies in the face of the entire New Testament. The New Testament is crystal clear on this topic. Jesus was, and is, the promised Messianic King of Israel. Since he is the King of Israel, then the true Israel, or Kingdom Israel, consists of anyone who follows him as King. That would include his disciples (all Jews), along with any Jew who will listen to them, and any Gentile willing to do the same (Romans 11). What Jesus did, that was so revolutionary, was claim his Kingship, and then set up his new (restored) Kingdom of Israel, otherwise known as the Church…

To those who would listen, Jesus said:

“Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” — Matthew 4:17

To the priests, scribes and elders of Israel, Jesus said:

“Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it.” — Matthew 21:43

To his disciples, Jesus said:

“Do not fear, little flock, for it is the Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” — Luke 12:32

The following are just some Scripture references that back this point. They are certainly not all the Scripture passages that can be found, but rather a good cross section of them. The Bible plainly teaches that the Church is Israel….

The Church is Kingdom Israel
Shane Schaetzel June 21, 2021 [CONTINUED]

Think of it this way. What Jesus basically did was set up a new government. Think of the old kingdom government of Israel as being totally corrupt. Herod, who wasn’t even a Jew, was ruling as the king of Israel at that time. Judea, the southern portion of Israel, was ruled by a Roman procurator — Pontius Pilate. The temple priesthood had been infiltrated by Roman moles. Some of them weren’t even Jewish, and they were serving as priests! The Sanhedrin was working with the Roman Empire to maintain peace and their positions of power. The old kingdom was so corrupt, and so utterly lost, that upon Jesus’ trial before Pilate, the Jewish leaders had the people cry out “We have no king but Caesar!” (John 19:15) Stop and think about that. THIS is the environment that Jesus entered into, and THAT is why the gospels of Matthew (Matthew 1:1-16) and Luke (Luke 3:23-38) use so much parchment and ink tracing the royal genealogy of Jesus. The point is to prove, that through both Mary and Joseph, Jesus has a legitimate claim to the crown of David. Jesus then went on to claim his birthright, and acted accordingly, even to the point of accepting a messianic and royal entry into the city of Jerusalem (Matthew 21:1–11, Mark 11:1–11, Luke 19:28–44, and John 12:12–19), in accordance with Zechariah’s prophecy of how the promised king would enter the city (Zechariah 9:9). Pilate responded to all of this by placing a sign above Jesus head while he hung on the cross, which read in Hebrew, Greek and Latin: “This is Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews.” (Matthew 27:37 and John 19:19) And THAT was the reason for Jesus’ execution, as far as the official Roman records go. Jesus was executed for opposing Caesar, and making himself out to be a King. Even though Pilate found no guilt in Jesus’ version of a kingdom, because he did not oppose Caesar in a civic way (Luke 23:1-22; John 18:38), he allowed the Sanhedrin to use his troops to exercise their judgement against him (Matthew 27:22-26; Mark 15:9-15; Luke 23:23-25 and John 19:5-16). What was that judgement? According to the private records of the Sanhedrin in Jewish court, it was because he made himself to be divine. But according to the public records of the Sanhedrin in the Roman court, he made himself to be king by opposing Caesar.

During his earthly ministry, one if the first acts Jesus did as King was appoint a new royal court. These would be Peter and the twelve Apostles…

Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jona! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
— Matthew 16:16-19 RSV-CE

Here in this passage, Jesus is acting like a King. He has spent a great deal of time talking about the Kingdom of God, now he is officially acting as the King of this Kingdom. Here he is establishing the Kingdom office of prime minister. The “keys” you see, are an Old Testament sign of authority of the Davidic Kingdom…

In that day I will call my servant Eli′akim the son of Hilki′ah, and I will clothe him with your robe, and will bind your girdle on him, and will commit your authority to his hand; and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. And I will place on his shoulder the key of the house of David; he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
— Isaiah 22:20-22 RSV-CE

The “keys” that Jesus gave to Peter are not literal of course. Rather, they represent something. They represent an office of authority. Jesus, acting as the King of Israel, has just promised to give Simon Peter the office of prime minister in his Kingdom. Indeed, the Kingdom of God was already present, and at that time it subsisted entirely in Jesus Christ, but soon it would spread throughout the world, in an entity known as the Church.

The Church is Kingdom Israel
Shane Schaetzel June 21, 2021 [CONTINUED]

Now stop and think about this. What is Jesus actually doing here? He is living in a land with a puppet “king” already — Herod — who isn’t royalty and is not even Jewish. One region of that land is governed by a Roman procurator. The Roman occupation is propped up by cooperation from the Sanhedrin and the leadership in the Jewish Temple. This system of order is 100% dependent on the subjugation of all Jews in the region. They don’t have to like it, but they do have to accept it. Yet, what did Jesus just do here? He has at length talked about HIS coming Kingdom, and now he is acting as a King. He is giving Simon Peter authority as his prime minister.

Kings often have many prime ministers during the course of their reign. Queen Elizabeth II of England has had fourteen just in the UK alone. Jesus’ first prime minister was Peter, but because Jesus lives forever, he has had two-hundred and sixty-six (266) successors of Peter, or prime ministers, over the last two-thousand years. The man we call the Pope, occupies the role and office of prime minister. Not all Christians are in communion with the Pope. Thus, they have a problem with the current prime minister of the Church (Kingdom Israel), but they still place themselves under King Jesus, so they are still part of Kingdom Israel (the Church). They just live an an awkward state, recognizing the King, but rejecting the King’s prime minister. The purpose of this essay is not to critique that position, but to just point out what it is.

The main point of this essay is to correct the theological error of Dispensationalism, which leads to the political error of Christian Zionism. To do this, we must understand that the Church is Kingdom Israel. As for the Israeli Republic, in the Middle East, that is just a man-made secular entity, which has nothing to do with the Biblical Israel of the Bible. The Biblical Israel, we read about in the Bible, is a Kingdom. The man-made replica, this human imitation in the Middle East today, is just a republic. It’s made to look like the real thing, but it’s not.

Whether or not one chooses to support the Israeli Republic should always be a political decision, not a religious one. There are many good political reasons [or, perhaps not so many] to support the Israeli Republic, but not a single good religious one, at least not from the perspective of authentic Christian religion anyway.

We all have strong opinions and strong feelings about the topic of the war between Israel and Hamas. I believe both of these things at the same time:

1) Hamas is evil

2) Israel is a secular nation state

One doesn't need to be Old Testament Israel in order to deserve to live free of terrorism. Terrorism is evil to Israelis. Terrorism is evil to Americans. Terrorism is evil to Europeans. Terrorism is evil to everyone. Terrorism is evil.

Whoever is upset about Palestinians garnering empathy--or Israel being conceptualized as on the same level with other nations morally--please make no mistake about it that empathy for Palestinians does not default to support for Hamas.

If anything, pressuring Israel to be restrained for the sake of humanitarian considerations, will play better in the long run, in terms of Israel being able to continue to rely on American military and political support into the future.

Don't you realize there is a reason why Hamas uses Palestinians as human shields? Think about it.

1 Peter 1
New International Version

1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,

To God’s elect, exiles scattered throughout the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, 2 who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood:

Grace and peace be yours in abundance.

1 Peter 2:9-10
New International Version

9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

"The significance of the Palestinian converts is not primarily that they are helping the modern, secular nation state of Israel. It's that their souls will be saved, and they demonstrate their change of heart by behaving morally."

Exactly.
That is why Tass Saada and Mosab Yousef are no longer hating the Jewish people.
Jesus saved them and changed their hearts from hate to love.

God's forgiveness will do that for anyone who puts their trust in Him.
And He makes us alllllll one with Him in Christ Jesus when we believe Him with repentance and trust. That isn't Jew or Gentile identity anymore, the new identity is Jesus.

This is above politics, don't people see this?
But there is still an earthly program of God for things working out with Israel....with all the nations, frankly.
Jerusalem is the burdensome stone to let all eyes see that it is God who is bringing this all to a head by bringing these challenging matters to every heart.
This isn't about dispensationalism. This is the Bible and our current state of affairs in the world being shown to us in real time. We don't need a dispensation for that.

1st commandment-Love the Lord God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength is for now--in our earthly days
as well as the 2nd commandment to love your neighbor as yourself.

We are all neighbors whether we like it or not.
Some obviously need to review God's plan of salvation in John 3:16- for God so loved the world.
But the majority of the world from all the nations won't love Him back. To those that do he has an eternal kingdom to take them home to.
Jesus will step down upon the earth and reign, and from Jerusalem. And in the temple He builds that we read of from Ezekiel 40 on.
God's not done.

The only thing completely done in the Bible is Jesus has paid a debt because we had a debt we couldn't pay. Other matters have more than one fulfillment as we shall see.

Jesus said: It is finished.
That's the part that is fully DONE.

But carry on with whatever your current belief is.
God will get everyone on the same page when He is ready to reveal --- the rest of the story.
Thanks for the discussion.
It's a worthy topic.

24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”

Or rather, He said, 'I was sent not, if not to the lost sheep of the House of Israel'.

https://biblehub.com/interlinear/matthew/15-24.htm

He did not say 'I was sent only to the lost sheep of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin', nor did he say 'I was sent not, if not to the lost sheep of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin'.

Moreover, is his response in verse 28 in response to the woman imploring him [a Canaanite woman (see verse 22) who is not physically a Jew]: 28 Then answering, Jesus said to her 'Oh woman, great the faith within you. Be it to you as you desire.', and the daughter of her was healed from that hour [onwards].

https://biblehub.com/interlinear/matthew/15.htm

Jesus Christ is not rebellious or going against the commission of God the Father, implied by
the word 'sent' in its context in verse 24, but rather was fulfilling it. Therefore, as other scriptures, which I have referred to in my earlier posts here, was demonstrating that the House of Israel consists of those who are spiritually Israel and not physical Israel. This is not a rejection based on race, whether Jew or Gentile, but rather an inclusion in the House of Israel for all those who believe in Him and are therefore spiritual descendants of Abraham and inheritors of the Promise. Therefore, as Galatians 3:28 (KJV)
states: There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Do you mean Gaza city or do you mean the Gaza strip?

If you mean the former: A convoy of vehicles carrying fleeing civilians in Gaza that was hit by a deadly airstrike was travelling on one of the two roads identified by the Israeli army as “safe routes” to the southern half of the strip, according to analysis.

The Friday afternoon bombing in Gaza City, which killed a reported 70 people, including children, occurred on Salah-al-Din Road, a main thoroughfare in the overcrowded territory, home to a trapped population of 2.3 million people.

I abhor the acts of Hamas the baby killers as I do the acts of baby killer Netanyahu and his ilk. Yet let me ask you: if an invading power not only dispossessed you of your land, rights and resources, but also murdered and imprisoned your children and elderly over decades, would you be angry enough to fight back? No, I am not excusing the evil committed by Hamas on the 7th of October, 2023, which I condemn wholeheartedly.

Why have you no love in your heart for spiritual Israel? For Palestinian Christians being dehumanised and ethnically cleansed from their land by the Christ rejecting Zionists? Perhaps it is because you don't know Jesus Christ or the Gospel in truth at all. Repent!

Fatima, Mary and the Moslems

"God, Who made the sun, also made the moon. The moon does not take away from the brilliance of the sun. The moon would be only a burnt-out cinder floating in the immensity of space were it not for the sun. All its light is reflected from the sun. The Blessed Mother reflects her Divine Son; without Him, she is nothing. With Him, she is the Mother of Men. On dark nights we are grateful for the moon; when we see it shining, we know there must be a sun. So in this dark night of the world when men turn their backs on Him Who is the Light of the World, we look to Mary to guide their feet while we await the sunrise"
Bishop Fulton Sheen

https://www.fultonsheen.institute/post/fatima-mary-and-the-moslems

I always found it interesting the Moon's significance in the 3 Abrahamic faiths. The new moons of the Jews, the full moon of the Christians, and the crescent of the Muslims.

PS: make no mistake the full moon has been horrified in movies for good reason, (or should I say bad?)

The Biden administration has, for the most part, been astonishingly negligent in the face of these unholy new alliances. While Inboden credited some around the president with having a sense of the dangers the renewed Sino–Russian relationship poses to global stability, he said the White House did not seem alarmed enough by the degree to which the anti-American coalition has strengthened.

“With this appeasement they’ve been doing with Iran — the $6 billion in hostage diplomacy, the desperation to get some sort of return to whatever the new phase of the JCPOA is — I think they’ve been completely disregarding both Iran’s ties to North Korea and Iran’s support for Russia,” Inboden said.

A "New Mary" for a New Age?

http://orthodoxinfo.com/inquirers/mary_newage.aspx

Our guide took our group for an audience with the "seers." During this audience, a pilgrim asked one of the children the following question: "Does the Virgin say that the Catholic Church is the true church?" The response given by the child provides clear evidence of the ecumenical content and religious relativism which, oddly enough, increasingly mark the "revelations" at Medjugorje: "Our Blessed Mother says that all religions are equally pleasing to God."

Today, as heterodox Christians become more and more ecumenist and work toward creating a "One World Church," the search has begun for a Mary of universal recognition, one who will appeal not only to those who bear the name Christian, but apparently to Muslims and others as well, just as attempts are likewise being made to identify the "new Christ" with the Muslim concept of their coming Mahdi and with the Messiah still awaited by the Jews. This, of course, will be no Christ at all but the antichrist. Apparently the way is also being paved for an "anti-Mary." The "Life" magazine article ends with the case of a Unitarian minister who "has a dream—of a middle-ground Mary, an Everymary who can transcend ideologies and give this tumultuous world the mother it needs. ‘I would like to think that she could be a bridge between religions,' he says."

Anon 12:39,

If I may, allow me to interject here. When coming across a text that seems to be at odds with an interpretation, it is best to first check other translations. In the case of Matt 15:24, all the versions on BibleHub concur: Matt 15:24.

If I were rendering this from scratch, my translation would be the same as Young’s Literal Translation (I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel), but, e.g., the NET is just fine with its dynamic equivalence, as it smooths it out by dropping the two negatives (I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel).

This works in the immediate context. After Jesus’ statement, the Canaanite woman essentially pleads her case and shows extraordinary faith. In response to this, Jesus relents and heals her daughter.

Now, the next task would be to interpret that in the larger context of the entirety of Scripture, keeping in mind chronological order (Consider Paul who came to the Jews first, then the Gentiles, after the Jews largely did not accept Jesus as Messiah).

And note John 1:11–12 (NASB):

11 He came to His own [people (= Jews)], and His own people did not accept Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name…

Thank you for you kindly put introduction to your post.

Dear Craig,

12:39 PM (as I should have signed in my previous post to you) again here.

I would, however, like to add I personally prefer the double negative used in the Greek as I feel it adds emphasis to what Jesus Christ is saying, but understand the rendering, 'I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel'. I do, however, believe believe the 'the house' included here adds clarity of focus.

As I had alluded to in an earlier post, I believe the house of Israel in terms of how God views it to have always been inclusive of those obedient to God, which is why I mentioned Ruth. Those who were disobedient were not part of the true house of Israel (in spiritual terms), as Paul himself states in Romans 9:

6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

The word of God, as Paul states in the first sentence of verse 6, has not failed. In Deuteronomy 10 it is written: 12 “And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 and to keep the commandments and statutes of the Lord, which I am commanding you today for your good? 14 Behold, to the Lord your God belong heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth with all that is in it. 15 Yet the Lord set his heart in love on your fathers and chose their offspring after them, you above all peoples, as you are this day. 16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no longer stubborn. 17 For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who is not partial and takes no bribe. 18 He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing. 19 Love the sojourner, therefore, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.

God is clearly pleading with physical Israel to obey Him here, to circumcise their hearts, and clearly shows by His command to love the sojourner that He is no respecter of persons in terms of race per se.

Yet, as Matthew writes, 23:37 37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

Disobedience to God has always caused the relationship between man and God to be broken, for example, regarding the exodus from Egypt, recorded in Exodus 12:37-38 and written of in Numbers 32:13: And the Lord's anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight of the Lord, was consumed.

So, ultimately God's chosen have always been those who have obeyed Him in love and truth, with all their mind, heart and soul and loved their neighbours as themselves.

The New Covenant, therefore, is a fulfillment of the Old Covenant. Those of physical Israel are not rejected nor disinherited as long as they humble themselves before God in obedience and accept Jesus Christ, as spoken of by the prophets. In the same way, with Ruth as my example, the Kingdom of God has always been open to all those who would humble themselves, seek Him and obey Him.

Acts 2:36-39
New International Version

36 “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”

37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

The First One Hundred Years of Christianity in Jerusalem

https://bibleinterp.arizona.edu/articles/mcnamer

One does not have to look far to see that many of these practices [Essene] were adopted by the early Christian community. They returned to that upper room after the death of Jesus. They were altogether there at Pentecost. They celebrated this according to the Essene calendar. (“Devout men “were present in Jerusalem.) They choose Matthias by lot (there is a house of Matthias mentioned in the copper scroll). Pentecost became the main feast for the early church. Baptism became the initiation rite of the new community; The Holy Spirit (not mentioned anywhere in the O.T.) is prominent in the Dead Sea Scrolls and in the literature of the early Jewish community. They celebrated a sacred meal. They practiced communal living. Both sects observed a community rule (Didache for Christians). There was a hierarchy of twelve for both. Times of prayer were the same. Healing was done by both groups. Could it all just be coincidence? We are told early on that a group of priests converted. They couldn’t have been Sadducees, who are shown as opposed to the Christian sect in the Acts. So who else? The only alternative was the Essenes.

It's so easy to see the dangers of any kind of Theonomy/Dominionism when you see it being applied/exercised in other parts of the world.

Separation of church and state is essential for an effective democracy and true religious freedom for all:

c. h. spurgeon on baptist perpetuity:

"We believe that the Baptists are the original Christians. We did not commence our existence at thereformation, we were reformers before Luther or Calvin were born; we never came from the Church of Rome, for we were never in it, but we have an unbroken line up to the apostles themselves. We have always existed from the very days of Christ, and our principles, sometimes veiled and forgotten, like a river which may travel underground for a little season, have always had honest and holy adherents. Persecuted alike by Romanists and Protestants of almost every sect, yet there has never existed a Government holding Baptist principles which persecuted others; nor I believe any body of Baptists ever held it to be right to put the consciences of others under the control of man. We have ever been ready to suffer, as our martyrologies will prove, but we are not ready to accept any help from the State, to pro$titute the purity of the Bride of Christ to any alliance with the government, and we will never make the Church, although the Queen, the despot over the consciences of men".
(From The New Park Street Pulpit, Vol.VII, Page 225).

"History has hitherto been written by our enemies, who never would have kept a single fact about us upon the record if they could have helped it, and yet it leaks out every now and then that certain poor people called Anabaptists were brought up for condemnation. From the days of Henry II to those of Elizabeth we hear of certain unhappy heretics who were hated of all men for the truth's sake which was in them. We read of poor men and women, with their garments cut short, turned out into the fields to perish in the cold, and anon of others who were burnt at Newington for the crime of Anabaptism. Long before your Protestants were known of, these horrible Anabaptists, as they were unjustly called, were protesting for the 'one Lord, one faith, and one baptism.' No sooner did the visible church begin to depart from the gospel than these men arose to keep fast by the good old way. The priests and monks wished for peace and slumber, but there was always a Baptist or a Lollard tickling men's ears with holy Scriptures, and calling their attention to the errors of the times. They were a poor persecuted tribe. The halter was thought to be too good for them. At times ill-written history would have us think that they died out, so well had the wolf done his work on the sheep. Yet here we are, blessed and multiplied; and Newington sees other scenes from Sabbath to Sabbath.

As I think of your numbers and efforts, I can only say in wonder - what a growth! As I think of the multitudes of our brethren in America, I may well say, What hath God wrought! Our history forbids discouragement."

(From the Metropolitan Tabernacle Pulpit, 1881, Vol. 27, page 249.)

X 4:22 PM,

The modern nation state of Israel has a parliamentary democracy. The Israeli Declaration of Independence says Israel is a Jewish state, but also claims to:

Ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion, race or sex: It will guarantee freedom of religion, conscience, language, education, and culture; it will safeguard the Holy Places of all religions; and it will be faithful to the principles of the Charter of the United Nations.[3]

But a Pew Research Center report available on the Wayback Machine identifies Israel as a country with "high restrictions" on freedom of religion.

https://web.archive.org/web/20160303223318/http://www.pewforum.org/files/2009/12/restrictions-fullreport.pdf

Meanwhile, theonomy/Dominionism in America is an idea, not a reality. In fact, the Satanic Temple is even allowed to be a presence in public school After School Satan Clubs and sometimes shows up at city government functions in various cities.

Given the fact that FBI data shows that the state of Maine has the nation's LOWEST rate of violent crime... what a perfect psyop to have a crime so unexpected and traumatic that the residents of Lewiston, Maine have been left FEARFUL that there has been an ASSAULT ON THEIR PEACE OF MIND AND ENTIRE WAY OF LIFE!!!

I can remember saying the exact same thing about Baptist to a Catholic 30 years ago. Now I don't think it is true (there has always been Baptists) It more like there has always been Baptists (as we know them today) around 400 years since the advent of the printing press.

Hester Rogers (who I amire) was a amazing woman and probably influenced Westley who in turn created modern Baptists (read below)

Israeli official, DeSantis administration at odds over alleged ammunition shipment

https://www.reuters.Com/world/middle-east/2024-republican-contender-desantis-facilitates-shipment-weapons-ammunition-2023-10-26/

WASHINGTON, Oct 26 (Reuters) - An Israeli diplomat in Miami on Thursday pushed back against an assertion by the administration of Ron DeSantis that the Florida governor had coordinated with his office to facilitate the shipment of ammunition and weapons to Israel.

Earlier on Thursday, a DeSantis spokesperson said the governor's office had contracted cargo planes to send drones, body armor and helmets to Israel and worked to "get weapons and ammunition to Israel through private parties."

There were few details disclosed about the shipments, including where the materials originated, and which third parties Florida worked with.

"At the request of the Israeli Consul General in Miami, cargo planes contracted by Florida were used to transport healthcare and hospital supplies, drones, body armor, and helmets that first responders can use," Jeremy Redfern, the press secretary for DeSantis' gubernatorial office, wrote in a statement to Reuters.

"We also worked with the Consul General to help get weapons and ammunition to Israel through private parties."

In an interview with Reuters, however, Maor Elbaz-Starinsky, the Israeli consul general in Miami, said his office did not work with the governor to send any weapons or ammunition to Israel through private parties, though he had once been in contact with the governor's office about a plane that was carrying rifle parts.

"This is not how I would describe it," he said of the statement released by the governor's office.

Elbaz-Starinsky said DeSantis' office had contacted various Israeli government institutions, and that DeSantis had facilitated a shipment of medical supplies, which had been requested by the Israeli health ministry.

The streets of Dearborn were flooded with protesters for the second day in a row Sunday, joining demonstrations across the world demanding an end to violence against Palestinians amid the latest deadly attacks in the Israeli-Palestinian crisis.

Traffic was at a standstill on Michigan Avenue as nearly two thousand demonstrators marched east toward Schaefer Road, energized from a rally and chanting, “Free, free Palestine.” The protest was organized by Wayne State University’s Student for Justice in Palestine and New Generation for Palestine, an advocacy group supporting the liberation of Palestine.

https://nypost.com/2023/10/28/news/soros-funneled-15-m-plus-to-groups-rallying-for-hamas/amp/

Far-left billionaire kingmaker George Soros has funneled more than $15 million since 2016 to groups behind this month’s pro-Palestine protests, where demonstrators openly cheered Hamas militants’ craven terrorist attacks on Israel.

A Post examination of Open Society Foundations records shows Soros’ grant-making network gave $13.7 million of the money through Tides Center, a deep-pocketed lefty advocacy group that sponsors several nonprofits who’ve justified Hamas’ bloody attacks while claiming Palestinians obsessed with the eradication of the Jewish state are the real victims.

Tides’ beneficiaries include Illinois-based Adalah Justice Project, which on the day of the Oct. 7 massacre posted a photo on Instagram of a bulldozer tearing part of Israel’s border fence down and a caption: “Israeli colonizers believed they could indefinitely trap two million people in an open-air prison… no cage goes unchallenged.”

Netanyahu Vows: Israel Will ‘Realize the Prophecy of Isaiah,’ Defeat Hamas

https://www.christianheadlines.com/contributors/michael-foust/netanyahu-vows-israel-will-realize-the-prophecy-of-isaiah-defeat-hamas.html

Declaring Israel is in a “fight for our existence,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday addressed the nation and vowed to lead Israel to a “crushing victory” over Hamas and to “realize the prophecy of Isaiah.”

“As prime minister, I'm responsible for guaranteeing the future of this country,” Netanyahu said, promising to “eliminate Hamas by destroying its military and governance capabilities and to do everything possible to get our hostages back.” The Times of Israel and i24News translated the speech.

More than 1,000 Israelis died, and more than 100 were taken hostage during Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack.

“My role is to lead all Israelis, the state of Israel, and the people of Israel to an overpowering victory,” he said. “It is now a time to come together for one purpose, to storm ahead, to achieve victory.”

Netanyahu also quoted Scripture.

“We shall realize the prophecy of Isaiah -- ‘there will no longer be stealing at your borders, and your gates will be of glory.’ Together we will fight. Together we will win,” he said.

Netanyahu was paraphrasing Isaiah 60:18, which says in the English Standard Version, “Violence shall no more be heard in your land, devastation or destruction within your borders; you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.”

"Moscow is behind the Hamas attack against Israel

Hamas called its terrorist attack 'Typhoon el-Aqsa', under the pretext that Israel wants to destroy the two mosques built over King Solomon's Temple Mount, al-Aqsa and al-Omar. This is an old refrain of Islamist anti-Israel agitation. The painting that the heads of Hamas are holding together with Lavrov represents the Holy Sepulcher together with the two mosques. LAS VEGAS -- Nikki Haley criticized Donald Trump on Saturday for praising foreign strongmen and warned that his style of “chaos, vendettas and drama” would be dangerous, making her sharpest critiques of the former president as the two GOP presidential candidates and their rivals addressed an influential group of Jewish Republicans.

“Eight years ago, it was good to have a leader who broke things,” Haley said of Trump. “But right now, we need to have a leader who also knows how to put things back together.”

Trump Glitches Again During Speech, Concerns Over Cognitive Decline Grow

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I81tREdMDC8

During a recent speech at the Republican Jewish Coalition Conference, former President Donald Trump experienced a notable verbal hiccup as he struggled to pronounce the word 'terrorism.' This incident is the latest addition to a series of gaffes that have raised questions about his mental acuity. Trump previously made erroneous statements, such as confusing Viktor Orbán with the leader of Turkey and delivering a peculiar monologue about discovering the similarity between 'us' and 'U.S.' He has also accused President Biden of leading the country into World War Two while simultaneously suggesting cognitive decline and displaying confusion regarding polling data and the actions of political figures like Jeb and George Bush. Additionally, Trump has made unconventional claims about photo identification requirements for bread purchases.

'Literally Speechless,' Skillet's John Cooper Addresses Musicians Dressed in Drag at the Dove Awards

https://www.christianheadlines.com/contributors/milton-quintanilla/literally-speechless-skillets-john-cooper-addresses-musicians-dressed-in-drag-at-the-dove-awards.html

Skillet frontman and bassist John Cooper said he is “literally speechless” after several Christian musicians attended the 54th Dove Awards while dressed up in drag.

Per The Roy’s Report, Former Caedmon’s Call singer-songwriter Derek Webb attended the awards ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee, with openly queer Christian artist Semler and drag queen Flamy Grant.

“54th annual dove awards, here we come,” Webb tweeted, with a picture of the trio.

Cooper, who hosts the Cooper Stuff podcast, told Church Leaders, “Obviously, they’re just trying to get attention, they’re trying to disrupt, and they’re going about it in a clever way,

He added, “And the truth is they are being the aggressors in this.”

Cooper also shared that artists like them would not attend a “Muslim music celebration to do the same” because that would be “a little bit too insensitive. You don’t want to go in and just start stomping on somebody’s religion. The laws of intersectionality would apply.”

He contended that the Christian music industry should be aware that Webb and the others act as aggressors in light of their recent actions. The Skillet musician also believes that “the industry has set the groundwork to make people feel like they can bully us because we are so wimpy and weak,” describing the issue as an “absurdity” since it makes Christians “apologetic about what we believe.”

In response to the Dove Awards controversy, Weeb defended his choice of attire in a video posted to X, formerly Twitter.

“As a cis, straight, white man, I walk into a room like that and any room with an incredible amount of advantage and privilege,” Webb, who’s previously won 3 Dove Awards, explained. “If I’m attending as an ally of friends and colleagues, I should do everything possible to surrender that privilege at the door.”

“If the way you look at my loved ones isn’t the way you’re looking at me, I’m not truly standing with them,” he continued.

Webb also quoted progressive and LGBT-affirming Christian pastor Stan Mitchell, who said, “If you claim to be someone’s ally but aren’t getting hit by the stones thrown at them, you aren’t standing close enough.”

Webb was formerly a member of the folk-rock group Caedmon’s Call, where he was a guitarist and songwriter until he departed from the group in 2003 due to a shift in beliefs and focus on a solo career.

In 2013, Christian musician Sandra McCracken divorced Webb in light of his alleged affair.

Earlier this year, Webb released a song with Grant titled “Boys Will Be Girls.” The song’s release was part of Webb’s latest album, which he described as his “first Christian and gospel album in 10 years.”

When you don't have real evidence of corruption why not just make up insinuations.

It’s not unusual for high-profile government officials to use alternate names in email addresses for security reasons. Officials in both political parties have utilized such practices for years.

As Time Magazine reported back in August:

... Joe Biden used Gmail addresses with the name "robinware456" and "JRBWare" during his time as Vice President. He also used a government-issued pci.gov account with the name "Robert.L.Peters". The pci.gov domain has been used for emails of officials working in the executive office of the president. The National Archives has retained thousands of emails connected to those accounts in its records from Biden's time as Vice President.

A White House official said that Biden used these alternate names for his email accounts for security reasons, so that hackers and people trying to clog the vice president’s inbox wouldn’t be able to easily guess his email address. “Newsflash: government leaders for decades have used aliases to avoid spam & hacking,” Ian Sams, a White House spokesman, wrote on Aug. 29 on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. ...

Don't know if you'll stop by today but this past week through, I presume midnight, Oct 31st, American Gospel is streaming two episodes of it's "Spirit and Fire" series free. I don't know if episode 2 with Michael Brown's reaction to "grave soaking" is available or not.

https://www.watchagtv.com/american-gospel-spirit-fire

Summary:

American Gospel: Spirit & Fire :

A massive theological movement has been sweeping through the Church in recent decades. Millions of professing Christians around the world believe that God is restoring the lost offices of apostle and prophet to church government. They claim these restored apostles and prophets are needed to usher in a global end times revival by delivering new revelations and performing great signs and wonders. This modern apostolic and prophetic paradigm has been called the “New Apostolic Reformation.” Though there is some debate over that label (NAR), the core issues place a demand on all Christians to respond to these claims of authority. Has Christ Himself sent these new apostles and prophets to His Church?

“American Gospel: Spirit & Fire” will compare and contrast the true person and work of the Holy Spirit with the manifestations and prophetic revelations attributed to Him by leaders in the modern apostolic and prophetic movement.

Which recent translation? (I don't agree he used the Bible to justify "aggression.") So far the only example produced of "fighting" in the article is this, later on, after the part I quoted: "She's spent the last couple of weeks on her knees in prayer to the Lord," Johnson said of his wife post-vote. "And, um, she's a little worn out."

But where on earth did he get the translation of Matthew 11:12 that he quoted? Which translation is that?

Mike Johnson Uses Bible to Justify 'Aggression,' Urges Christians to Fight

https://www.newsweek.com/mike-johnson-bible-aggression-urges-christians-fight-1838390

An episode of the Truth Be Told podcast hosted by Johnson and his wife, Kelly, was recorded between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday in 2022 at the Christian-rooted "Answers for Women Conference" in Kentucky.

The new House speaker discussed "whether and how Christians should be engaged in the fateful battles being waged in our culture" and if they should ignore detractors or fight back against them. He referred to it as a "really desperate time" in the United States.
"Obviously, this is an increasingly hostile culture," Johnson told the audience. "We all know that. We need to understand why that is, and we need to commit to do our part to confront it. The kingdom of God allows aggression."

He then referenced Scripture from Matthew 11:12, which according to a more recent translation [which translation?], states: "From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it."

"We are a people of hope...A real question for us and not a rhetorical one is, how should Christians respond to all of this?" Johnson said. "Let me ask it directly: In the face of all this chaos, how should a 21st-century follower of Christ respond? Should a Christian fight?

"There's a lot of misunderstanding about this principle, right? Wait, I thought we were just supposed to turn the other cheek. Well, there's a time to every purpose under heaven; there's a time for war. There is a time when you must stand up and contend for the faith. You have to defend.

"You have to fight for the truth, you have to fight for your families, and we need to understand how we're supposed to fight. But first, we have to ask this preliminary question: Should we?"
