I have been watching many videos and doing much reading about Qanon. The more I
read, the more alarmed I become. QANON is NOT OF GOD and it is DANGEROUS. A very
informative video illustrating Qanon origins and direction is HBO's current
series ON THE STORM. If you have access to HBO documentaries, please make every
effort to watch it. Friends of mine came back from Antrim County, Michigan. They
told me that they were making statements there that Donald Trump would be
reinstated as President of the USA in August 2021. Both high unlikely, not to
mention delusional! Michael Lindell, MY PILLOW owner and CEO spoke, I'm told at
the Antrim County, Michigan rally. My friends tell me the book LOVE JOY TRUMP
was being actively marketed and sold there. Lindell wrote the foreword for that
book. The book is one of the worst combinations of New Apostolic Reform and
outright NEW AGE occultism I have seen together in one place. I am hearing
statistics that many Evangelicals believe Qanon is correct. This lack of

You bring up a very interesting subject, and that is, Hollywood, TV and the entire entertainment industry has a very long history being shills for the liquor (and tobacco) industry.
My wife & I occasionally watch old movies, preferably from the black & white era, both American & British. In virtually every single movie, the actors drink and smoke. We even joke that "it's about time for a drink," and more often than not, it is. In these films, every home, apartment, hotel room had a liquor table or bar. Whenever anyone walks into a room, it's "what will you have?" ... painting the picture that EVERYBODY DRINKS. Of course, practically every actor and actress smoked as well.
All of this panned out to be huge institutional advertising for the liquor and tobacco industries, because it was made to look "normal" and cool. Movie goers wanted to be like their idols on the big screen, so they quite often mimicked what they saw them doing. Movies also had a huge impact on fashion.
The impact of modern movies is great as well. Hollywood has been in the business of glorifying drug use, vulgarity, illicit sex, homosexuality, senseless violence, etc. for decades now. The Rock-n-Roll "music" industry is right there with them promoting, whether they know it or not, the very same agenda.
Yep! And it's interesting that you mentioned the Hollywood staple "Whenever anyone walks into a room, it's "what will you have?" ... painting the picture that EVERYBODY DRINKS." because I was originally going to mention something similar. (They didn't exactly hide it, did they?) I love movies like 'The Thin Man' series but they made a special point (even for Hollywood) of showcasing drinking, ESPECIALLY by the central character!

Had Trump somehow cheated again and pulled an election victory last November and a collection of ragtag upset patriotic liberal Americans descended upon the Capitol Building hoping to derail Trump's tragic & unlikely election victory how many more "insurrectionists" would have been shot, most likely on the steps of the Capitol Building nowhere near getting inside; and, would Trump's justice department have given them the same deals the justice department is handing out to the Jan 6 traitors? No way. He even made that clear by Executive Order:

It's an expression of fear by the dominant culture being politicized in an attempt to appropriate victimhood.

The other day you mentioned being out and seeing "sheeple" wearing masks again. If you are unvaccinated, aren't you wearing a mask? My businesses all have signage that if you are unvaccinated you must wear a mask. Are you ignoring that guidance and putting others at risk? It is my understanding that for herd immunity via the vaccine to work, the unvaccinated, in particular, have to be protected and participate in reducing transmission to the fullest extent possible. Absent doing so threatens the herd as the infected and unvaccinated become Petri dishes of new variants trying best they can to break through and transmit a new more resistant variant to both vaccinated and unvaccinated alike. From the sounds of it, the unvaccinated by choice are deliberately undermining the process and, inevitably, perhaps their own choices. It's a mask. It's not that big a deal. I don't want to ban unvaccinated clients from my businesses nor see them die. If I make masks mandatory for everyone, that's seen as a political statement. It's not political. It's becoming life or death. It's also a long-term health and disability issue which could potentially mean worker's compensation claims by any employees that catch Covid while work resulting in death or "Long Covid" disability. Either way US businesses will have to pay for it. Sowell wrote 13 or so conservative-leaning books in the last 14 years. What he says, or even writes publically to his customers might be something completely different than what he actually did/does in the voting booth.
Sowell's estimated to be worth 15 million. That wealth was largely accumulated by being provocative SELLING his words and critiques of liberals to conservative white populations and media.
Perhaps, like McCarthy and McConnel in Congress, any conservative not loyal to Trump, publicly, risks being ostracized. Ostracization is bad for selling books.

Thanks for bringing up Bernays ... I almost forgot. In a nefarious way, Bernays is one of the most influential figures in modern history.
The "Father of Modern Propaganda" was so masterful at his trade that even Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels studied his tactics, as well as Lenin & Stalin.
Goebbels, Lenin & Stalin used Bernays's tactics in order to gain psychological control over the masses, by manipulating their thought processes via the use of imagery, developing the cult of personality, etc., etc. You can read the same book that they studied here:

For those that may not know, the "Liberty Torches" that Bernays came up was used in order to sell American Women on expressing their "liberty." They became "liberated" (not addicted) by smoking cigarettes. After Bernays's ad campaign, which included staged media events, cigarette smoking among women skyrocketed. The tobacco companies, which had hired Bernays, enjoyed enormous increases in cigarette sales as a result. On a side bar, I wonder how many women, over many decades, died from lung cancer, heart disease, etc. because of Edward Bernays efforts? BTW, Bernays also happened to be the nephew of Sigmund Freud.
Bernays was also used to "sell" the American people on entering World War I, in order to "make the world safe for Democracy" (his invented phrase that Pres. Bernays was the one that also used the artistic illustrations depicting the vicious "Hun soldiers" drooling while they joyfully impaled babies on their bayonets. Bernays reasoned that such atrocities would make any red blooded American want to go and fight!

My idea (which is probably never going to happen) would be a simple waiver or release form whereby you are voluntarily indicating wish to forego the vaccine for personal reasons and thereby accept full financial responsibility for any and all covid related costs you may incur including the covid related costs of any others if it can be demonstrated you conducted your life regularly or they were substantially likely to have contracted such covid illness and/or disability from your wanton disregard of CDC guidelines regarding social distancing and wearing of masks indoors in public spaces.
Persons with documented medical conditions that, pursuant to an attached doctors note are unable to take the vaccines would like-wise be directed they too may be held liable for themselves and others should it be documented they operated in wantan disregard of CDC social distancing and masking guidelines.
Something like that. No guns necessary at all. Maybe if you refuse to choose at all you are simply presumed to be in violation of CDC guidance at a specific date and thereafter on your own financially. Emergency care on a pre-payment cash basis as you CHOSE to risk it.
I believe this would be consistent with Libertarian principles. Maximum autonomy and political freedom, emphasizing free association, freedom of choice, individualism and voluntary association (i.e. - personal responsibility).

I have not watched the documentary, but I spent probably hundreds of hours in 2018 researching the Q drops and reading through the back pages and the websites and blogs that sprung up in support of Q. Because I read and learned from both of your books back in the late 80's, I understood what they were doing.
Q originated with Cicada 3301 as a riddle for gamers and wizards on the dark web. Those who solved the riddle were invited to join a group. Allegedly, there was a cyberwarfare site takeover. From there the Q group evolved into QAnon. It became a communications network that bypassed mainstream media. Various factions of military and intelligence agencies were involved. Members of tea party and patriot movements, conservatives, gun owners, Christians were targeted. From the beginning, there were Bible verses quoted, promise of military tribunals, even executions of perceived enemies, Trump as the chosen one, warnings of coming martial law. Every negative in the Trump administration was twisted into something positive. He was "draining the swamp". The shady characters he was appointing to office had capitulated and were now "white hats." All of that, in addition to conspiracy theories, exposing corruption and more, to "Bring Darkness to Light, You have More than You Know, Expand Your Thinking, Trust the Plan."
This is a little long, but I want to share what is in my notes, copied from one of the back pages linked to an early Q drop.

As far as I can tell, there haven't been any Q drops since December 2020. However, there isn't any evidence to show that the mission has been completed. We may not see anymore of QAnon, but we can expect it to appear in some other form. In the meantime, there are probably hundreds of Q supporting websites, Q supporting politicians at federal, state and local levels, the NAR prophets, evangelical Christian pastors and teachers, with Mike Lindell in the forefront, all giving Q a voice.
Friends, there isn't any virtue in saying that you never paid attention to QAnon. Whether you voted for Trump or not, this movement has affected all of us and will continue to do so. We who are informed should be sounding the alarm and preparing for what is to come.

Yes there is. I have never given it a chance to sway me. A dear friend sent me repeated Qanon videos and I hit delete immediately because before it became a thing I knew it was to be avoided (and said so to my friend who quit sending that stuff to me). A good number here would be able to say the same. Yes it does have an impact, that is already understood. I don't trust media or politicians etc. regardless. Just because I voted for and still think highly of Pres Trump doesn't mean I think he walks on water. But I was already of that mind anyway....

I wasted the time by going to the two links that you posted. I found the one from the Business Insider to be particularly comical. Shockingly, BI reports that someone "handed out these Trump will be reinstated cards" at CPAC. Aghast!!! That is really something to be fearful about. LOL! What this reveals is that you, Hutch, probably have never attended a large political event, whereby, it is common for people of all stripes, sizes and shapes (and color ... remember ... CRT) to "hand out" all kinds of pamphlets, etc. espousing all kinds of weird stuff that about 99% of the recipients just deposit into the nearest trash container. The remaining 1% take home for some much needed comic relief.
The "Patriots Soar" site is so childish, it's hard to believe that anyone with an IQ north of room temperature would take it seriously for more than about 15 seconds. (I am in no way implying that your IQ is lower than say ... 74).
While feasting on this gibberish for about 3 minutes, (seriously, I couldn't take it any longer), I was reminded of a "political" meeting that I was invited to just prior to the GOP Convention of 2008. During the primaries, Ron Paul won ZERO states and 'won' only 20 delegates total, yet, at this meeting, grown ups (at least I suspect they were), were declaring that Paul had a "good chance" to still get the nomination, because McCain "wasn't all that popular." McCain already had enough pledged delegates, so their fantasy of a "brokered convention" was truly one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard of. Yet, they were all dead serious, citing historical examples such as when Abe Lincoln won the nomination after like the 35th. ballot. The fact that the rules back then were disbanded and were no longer in existence never even crossed their collective minds. I found it hopeless to point that fact out.
The point is, Q-Anon was a short-lived phenomenon that appealed to the same, not fully developed mentality as illustrated above. Q-Anon is currently about as troublesome as the Y2K "threat" was to our PCs.

A report from the Foundation for Economic Education is highlighting the dangers of a traffic stop maneuver being used by highway patrol troopers in which they deliberately crash a driver's car if he or she doesn't stop for them immediately.
No matter if they feel the circumstances, or location, are dangerous.
The FEE report notes that one solution would be to eliminate qualified immunity that generally protects law enforcement officers from just about anything they do.
The report is based on an incident from July 9, 2020, when Janice Nicole Harper, pregnant at the time, was speeding on Highway 67 in Arkansas when police lights appeared behind her.
"Dashcam footage from the incident shows Harper, who was pregnant at the time, slowing her vehicle, switching on her hazard lights, and steering to the side of the road," the report said.
But before she could come to a halt, Trooper Rodney Dunn crashed his vehicle into hers, causing the vehicle to flip.
Footage revealed Dunn then went to the upside-down-SUV and told Harper to climb out, demanding to know why she didn't stop.
"Because I didn’t feel like it was safe!” she responded.

The report explained the officer still is on duty and unlikely to face charges, although a civil case is pending over his use of a dangerous "Pursuit Intervention Technique."
The report noted that the Arkansas State Police Driver License Study Guide advises that drivers are "well within their rights to use hazard lights to signal to an officer that they are going to pull off the road when they find a safe place."
"This case demonstrates the urgency of abolishing qualified immunity, which is a legal principle that gives government officials, like law enforcement, immunity from civil suits unless the plaintiff’s rights were violated by the official in a 'clearly established statutory or constitutional rights of which a reasonable person would have known,'" the report found.
"If a non-officer had flipped someone's car for simply speeding, there is little doubt they would face civil and criminal charges. But qualified immunity will most likely protect Dunn (once again) from facing the consequences of his actions. Even if Harper were to win this lawsuit, the payout would come from taxpayer money, not Dunn’s pockets," it continued.
The report said the doctrine was created by the Supreme Court in 1960 without a legal basis, and provides that "police officers are protected from consequences even if they violated someone’s civil rights if a court hasn’t previously ruled the exact actions to be unconstitutional in a prior case."

Diana Davison did a good job concisely breaking down the key tenets of feminist critical legal theory and how it overlaps with CRT.
Both have in common viewing equality as equality of outcome, not equality of opportunity, now a concept frequently dubbed "equity."
Both have in common an emphasis on the system, not the individual, so that a racist or sexist system can be animated by people who do not have racist or sexist intentions.
Both have in common a certain demoting of facts in favor of subjectivism, with the subjectivism of the victim class being prioritized over the subjectivism of an oppressor class.
These are the key ideas the masses of ordinary people need to understand, so they know it's not simply all about an unbiased version of the American Dream and not simply progression toward a "more perfect union."
The ordinary people need to understand clearly that the individual is the smallest minority. They need to sympathize with the individual victims of the American Marxist systems.

P.S. God is the only one who has the big picture. Each individual has a little picture with a vantage point. This is the reason why arguing from a naive faith in Enlightenment ideas doesn't win against post-modernism.
A better way for secular arguments to win is to appeal to history, comparing American history with Soviet or Chinese history.
But I suspect that history all by itself can't satisfy a Leftist, who needs to think big, with big hopes; and who without Christianity, gravitates towards the New Age or transhumanism or American Marxism to fill the vacuum.
So you could win the argument but not the heart and mind. We are built so that our motivation is stronger than our reason.
For this reason I think real Christian revival is the only thing strong enough to really win the culture war.

I have started it only to put it aside. At some point (maybe in the winter) I'll do more reading. I hardly read at all during the summer other than quick articles. I like to spend as much time as possible outdoors during the summer months.

“You know,” Rep. Chip Roy is telling RealClearPolitics after balking at the administration’s latest COVID vaccine push and after all but telling President Biden to pound sand, “my dad had polio.”
It is a surprising start to the interview given that, about an hour earlier, the congressman tweeted a black-and-white image of a syringe. Federal health officials continue to have a hard time getting all Americans vaccinated against the coronavirus, and Biden had promised to send people “door-to-door" to get doses to the vulnerable. For Roy, that is when the president went too far. Hence, the cartoon syringe, a play on the famous “Come and Take It” flag, this time with an updated caption—“Come Inject It.”
Merchandise branded with that slogan will be available soon on his campaign website, but as the second-term Republican explains while driving along Interstate 10 somewhere in south Texas, he knows the importance of inoculation. He saw what can happen without them. “I grew up and I watched him live a life ravaged by that disease,” Roy says of his father. “I'm very pro-vaccine.”
The congressman calls the vaccine that banished polio “a great blessing.” He is “delighted” that children no longer have to worry about that debilitating disease. “Likewise,” Roy adds, “I’m delighted there are millions of people who are able to avail themselves of a [coronavirus] vaccine that they believe, in their calculation, is good for them and their well-being. That is great.”
He’s ticked off all the same. “I’m just sick and G*d-darn tired of the left, and this government, dictating to me, frankly, anything at all,” he says. “Back the F off. That's my message to the White House.”
Roy predicted that “the left is going to lose their ever-loving collective mind” over his criticizing the White House. “They are going to call me an anti-vaxxer.” He says they are wrong, that it is intellectually consistent to support a vaccine but also oppose a federal campaign to convince the public to take it because, “What I really am is a believer in freedom.”
“Who are you targeting and how do you know? Are you going to go ‘door-to-door' to all 330 million Americans, or are you going to go through some lists you have about who is-or-is-not vaccinated?” he said.
Asked for a response to the congressman, a White House official texted back: “lol no.” Roy’s sentiments are still indicative of the kind of vaccine hesitancy among conservatives that the White House is trying to tackle. A new Washington Post-ABC News poll showed that while 93% of Democrats report that they have either gotten the shot or plan to, just 49% of Republicans say the same. This comes as vaccination rates are leveling off nationally and an easily spread new variant of the virus originally from India has taken hold in the United States.
Federal officials are now switching their focus from mass vaccination sites to localized vaccination efforts. This means setting up clinics at workplaces, urging employers to give employees paid time leave to visit their doctor, and, yes, going door-to-door. “Now we need to go to community by community,” the president said Tuesday, “neighborhood by neighborhood, and oftentimes door to door – literally knocking on doors – to get help to the remaining people, protected from the virus.”
Biden has stuck with the persuasion route, and his administration, after considering but ultimately abandoning the idea of vaccine passports, has shied away from anything close to a vaccine mandate. He declined to require active-duty members of the military get the shot, and the White House issued guidance to federal agencies directing them not to require their employees be immunized. Asked about public schools and private companies requiring vaccination, White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters, “We are going to leave it up to them to make these decisions.”
Some public health experts want the president to be more aggressive, as the New York Times reports, and encourage states and employers to require vaccinations. “I’m trying to restrain myself, but I’ve kind of had it,” former Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told the Times. “You know, we’re going to tiptoe around mandates. It’s like, come on. I’m kind of over that. I want to make sure that people I deal with don’t have it so I don’t transmit it to my granddaughter.”
A brow-beating former Obama administration official isn’t going to win over recalcitrant Republicans. Someone like Tom Frieden, the former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, just might though.
That was one finding from a focus group hosted by longtime Republican pollster Frank Luntz. Over a Zoom call, Luntz introduced Frieden to self-identifying Trump voters wary of the vaccine—deliberately omitting the part about him heading the CDC during Obama’s administration. Frieden then rattled off “five facts,” among them that the vaccine will not remain in your body and that “more than 95% of the doctors who’ve been offered this vaccine have gotten it as soon as they can.”
Many of the participants seemed open to Frieden, and some said he changed their mind. The group overwhelmingly felt, as one man in the focus group explained, that, “We want to be educated, not indoctrinated.” The Luntz takeaway? Politicians probably won’t be able to sell the vaccine to the portion of the public that’s already hesitant. But physicians might. Asked about the Biden door-to-door vow, the GOP pollster told RCP, “I’m not sure if I like the strategy, but I certainly appreciate the passion and the commitment.”
What he can’t stand is partisanship infecting public health: “It’s essential to keep politics out of the vaccine effort,” he added. “Unfortunately, that has proven to be impossible. It’s a tragedy that some people refuse to act responsibly just because they want to make a political statement.”
Pandemic politics were a feature of 2020, whether it was President Trump calling Democratic criticism of his handling of the virus “a hoax,” or Kamala Harris on the debate stage with Mike Pence questioning the safety of a future vaccine. Pandemic politics, unsurprisingly, continue to be a thing in 2021.
“Please get vaccinated now. It works. It’s free,” Biden said at the White House Tuesday. “It’s never been easier, and it’s never been more important. Do it now for yourself and the people you care about, for your neighborhood, for your country. It sounds corny, but it’s a patriotic thing to do.”
And that is where Roy objects. He likened Biden’s red-white-and-blue routine to “wrapping a supposed duty in the name of public health in the flag,” and provides a rebuttal in kind: “Freedom to choose what is in your best interests and your family's best interest – that is the most patriotic thing we can do.”
Rattling off how the CDC flip-flopped on mask wearing then relating how critics insisted a vaccine wouldn’t be developed before the end of the year, Roy also said Democratic obsession with vaccination is like “a religion.”
“They live-and-die by political moment and the power of government versus trying to live as a free people respectfully to each other, taking care of each other,” he asserted. Well, what is the correct disposition of government during a health emergency then? “The answer is always freedom,” Roy answers. “That's the answer for all the things. And unfortunately, our country is moving away from that and until we return to that our country is going to be divided.”
He raises questions about possible long-term side effects of the vaccine, especially the rare inflammation of the heart that has occurred in teens and young men under 30 which the CDC is now investigating. But he won’t say whether or not the shot went into his own arm. And the congressman, who even urged the Biden administration to set up a vaccine “super site” in San Antonio, argues that the federal government should just leave the issue alone already.
Roy isn’t the only who feels that way. Biden stepped on a veritable rake of Republican backlash when he suggested that the federal government would go “door-to-door" to get people vaccinated. But Roy is becoming increasingly prominent on the right. The Associated Press recently dedicated an entire story to a secretly recorded video of the congressman talking to his constituents on a Southwest Airlines flight. Roy wasn’t wearing a mask, the AP reported, “an apparent violation of federal law.” It was less than three-minutes long.
“The AP thinks they've done some great service to humanity by exposing the great crime of the century, ‘Congressman Roy having his mask down,’” he jokes. After the story ran, Roy tells RCP that people wrote him just to say thank you. The report “was massively well-received in my district,” he says, estimating that it was “probably the equivalent of a $500,000 ad for me running in my district.”
There is an appetite for the cantankerous Texan’s kind of politics, says Jessica Anderson, an alumnus of the Trump White House and the executive director of Heritage Action for America. “He is the best kind of legislator, because he stands on principle and doesn’t worry about whether he will come back,” she said. He certainly doesn’t mind controversy.
Another video, this one also secretly recorded, showed Roy telling conservative activists that Republicans would benefit from obstructing the president’s agenda, specifically creating “18 more months of chaos and the inability to get stuff done.”
“Well yeah, I mean, that's our job. I totally disagree with everything Democrats are trying to do to my country, so of course I oppose it,” he deadpanned when asked about the online outrage his leaked comments sparked. He opposes Biden on everything from the president’s gender identity executive order to the administration’s proposed energy policy.
“I'm an equal opportunity basher of virtually everything that occurs in Congress—on both sides of the aisle,” says the congressman. That is sometimes true, even if it isn’t politically expedient. Roy was one of the rare House Republicans who split with his own party and voted to certify the 2020 election results. Citing his many policy differences with Biden, the conservative says, “It's not a surprise when I say I'm sorry, I'm generally against what you numbskulls are doing. I want to try to stop you from inflicting more damage on my country and the people I represent.”
A former assistant attorney general for Texas, Roy sees it as his constitutional duty as a member of the co-equal legislative branch to balance the executive: And that civic obligation doesn’t stop during a pandemic. For him, the role of the federal government is simple. Facilitate the rollout of doses, sure, but don’t knock on any doors. Leave it up to the individual whether or not to get vaccinated. Then it is a question of prudence, of weighing risks-vs-rewards. It is the conversation he had with his own father.
“My parents said to me, ‘Well Chip, what do you think?’” Roy recalls. “I said, ‘Dad, you're 78. Mom, you’re 72. I think it is in your best interest to probably get the vaccine, even though it's relatively untested, because the virus ain’t great if you're 78.”

When pro-Trump lawyer Sidney Powell took the stage at a QAnon convention in Dallas late last month, she was wearing a biker vest with a “Q” patch sewn on the back. And yet, when Powell began speaking, she did the unexpected: she trashed some of QAnon’s most cherished ideas.
According to the worldview held by many QAnon believers, Powell will actually lead the military tribunals at the heart of QAnon lore, imprisoning pedophile-cannibal Democrats in Guantanamo Bay and restoring Donald Trump to power. But at the conference, Powell broke some hard news to the QAnon faithful.
“There are no military tribunals that’s magically going to solve this problem for us,” Powell said, to scattered applause.
Powell even went against one of QAnon’s central pillars—the idea that believers should “trust the plan,” putting their faith in the idea that Trump and the military are carrying out a secret agenda to depose Democrats and bring back the Trump administration.
"I don't have any evidence that there's some grand underlying plan, pursuant to which all this is going to be made right,” Powell said. “I don't want to give anybody false hope that this is happening."

It is a lengthy ethical discussion of the problems of these continuing studies and how to balance getting good blinded evidence verses the ongoing health of unvaccinated control groups who are ultimately volunteer participants in an ongoing blinded study who can voluntarily drop out at any time or drive to their local Kroger and get (re) vaccinated. It's not just the control group either, the blind group that got the vaccines don't know they are vaccinated so perhaps they can't get back to their lives living normally too.

Would you pay nearly $150,000 for a degree that can get you a job with a median yearly salary of less than $40,000 in an industry that is currently experiencing a high degree of layoffs? If so, Columbia University’s School of Journalism will gladly sign you up for its new Master of Science in Data Journalism program.
The school charges $106,000 for the tuition and other fees related to the degree and $41,232 for living expenses. The notion is drawing mockery from established journalists like Chicago Tribune editor Charlie J. Johnson, who tweeted that “A $100,000 master’s degree in journalism is a stupid thing.”
This program joins the three existing master’s degrees in Columbia’s journalism department, and it comes at a much higher price tag; the general Master of Arts costs around $55,000, while the Master of Science and the Master of Science in Journalism and Computer Science will set you back just over $60,000. The school says the higher price tag is largely driven by the extra semester devoted to learning computational data and reporting fundamentals.
It’s hard to imagine they’ll get many takers, unless people are planning to take advantage of the student loan forgiveness program to fund it and simply not pay the loan back. You don’t need a master’s degree to land a $40,000-a-year job – or any degree at all, for that matter. Entrants into the program need a bachelor’s degree anyway, and this degree seems unlikely to improve their earning prospects by enough to justify the cost.
Mainstream media journalism careers not for the faint of heart
Some people are drawn to journalism because they want to make a positive difference in the world – for example, by exposing wrongdoings on the part of governments or corporations and inspiring changes to be made that improve people’s lives. However, the reality for many journalists who work in the modern mainstream media is far different. These journalists are often asked to write fake news stories that cast their corporate sponsors in the most flattering light possible, regardless of the truth of the situation. This unfortunate reality is disappointing enough when it sets in for journalism grads, but it is an even more bitter pill to swallow when you realize you just spent $147,514 for the “privilege” of spreading falsehoods.

At the Washington Post, meanwhile, winning a Pulitzer Prize requires a good imagination more than anything else – provided no one finds out you fabricated the story and withdraws the award.
With major platforms like Facebook now taking steps to flag and filter out news it doesn’t agree with, even more journalists will find themselves bending to the will of those who sign their paychecks. The actions of Facebook and Google will essentially ensure that only the industries that have the most money to spend or the best political connections will get their news circulated. Journalists employed in the mainstream media will find themselves repeating fake facts citing unnamed sources to help Big Pharma push vaccines and meds, try to get Trump removed from office, help Monsanto sell more toxic herbicides, and further other unsavory agendas.
