The New Age Movement from 1982 to 2012: A 30 year religious war?

This was me in my then downtown Detroit research office located in the Park Avenue Building on Monday May 3, 1982.  Photo courtesy of Detroit Free Press.  The picture originally appeared with a page and a half article on May 5, 1982, only 10 days after "The Christ is Now Here" ad of Benjamin Creme and the rest of his New Age Movement company appeared.  Creme did not come up with his London story until five days after he had his first unexpected debate with me on WRIF radio.  I think the London story was hastily improvised after unexpected opposition to their "Movement" and "Messiah" materialized to their collective dismay!

I started observing and reporting locally on the New Age Movement in early spring of 1981.  During that same year, I discovered in my fast growing library of evidence, Benjamin Creme's book THE REAPPEARANCE OF THE CHRIST.   His appendix had a notable section on "How the Plan is Working Out."  "The Plan" was working out in the form of the developments I had been monitoring for the past several months of that year.  I carefully read and hand annotated that book.  When I lost it after coming from court in St. Clair Shores  in early fall of 1981, I closed my office early on Friday night to make a trip to the same vendor, Mayflower Books, owned by Detroit area New Age / Theosophical Society activist Robert Thibodeau.  I went in and asked manager John Barnwell for that book.  By then they were well acquainted with my work and opinion of their "metaphysical movement."  He said, "no, Constance, sorry, we're all sold out."  He then smiled and handed me a flyer while saying, "You can come hear him in person, Unity is bringing him to town."  I then proceeded to the other local New Age bookstore located in Sterling Heights, Michigan, MIDDLE EARTH BOOKS.  There I purchased it together with THE OCCULT AND THE THIRD REICH by Jean-Michel Angebert.  The rest is probably by now classified as history.

The infamous worldwide ads proclaiming THE CHRIST IS NOW HERE ran April 25, 1982.  Ten days later, "the movement" was equally surprised by a page and a half picture story the DETROIT FREE PRESS ran on my work.  The author was Detroit reporter Ruth Seymour who had formerly reported favorably on the New Age Movement but experienced to the unhappiness of the local New Age community her own reverse "Paradigm Shift."

I just found the original glossy of the Free Press photo which a subsequent Detroit Free Press editor conversant with my work chose to bequeath to me.  I have scanned it and post it here for any historical interest it may satisfy and/or generate.  Various New Age artifacts are in the picture.  I am happy to report that I still have the "kitty" sweater I am shown wearing there and moreover it still fits!

Stay tuned!

Thank you for you work! In 2008 I was helped a Pastor of our Church move. His wife gave me a box of books that they didn't want anymore and your book, "Hidden Dangers" was among the books. I read the entire book that night and was shocked that I could check off what was listed with what was going on in my Church. That book allowed me to see the lies I had been told for 14 years. Funny, how it was in that box.

It was 1982 or 1983 I think when you came and spoke at the church I attended at the time in Elkhart, Indiana. We filled the auditorium (it wasn't a big church) and had closed-circuit TV set up in the basement for the overflow crowd.

At one point in your presentation, a door at the side of the platform slammed shut (we had all the windows open for better ventilation), and it gave you quite a start. You mentioned something about being nervous because you had received some recent threats to your well-being, and the door slamming didn't help your peace of mind much....

Thanks for all you've done and will continue to do! I can't imagine you ever stopping until Christ returns, or until you are called Home.

Constance, in my research of secret societies, occult groups, Masonic orders, etc, I find the most startling aspect to be how everything is connected in this New Age movement. More specifically, I predicted it and am now hearing it....a long time ago, these people said that the God of the Old Testament was really Satan (the Aten). I heard It tonight on hidden meanings.com. Bill is a New Ager and is preaching this message. This was a wide-spread belief that was suppressed in modern times. Google "Moses statue horns" and see their art for yourself.

The fact is that today's Palestinians are immigrants from the surrounding nations! I grew up well knowing the history and origins of today's Palestinians as being from Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Christians from Greece, muslim Sherkas from Russia, muslims from Bosnia, and the Jordanians next door. My grandfather, who was a dignitary in Bethlehem, almost lost his life by Abdul Qader Al-Husseni (the leader of the Palestinian revolution) after being accused of selling land to Jews. He used to tell us that his village "Beit Sahur " in Bethlehem County was empty before his father settled in the area with six other families..."

The word "palestine/filistin" is not an arabic word by origin, ask any scholar how do you say palestinians in arabic!? there isn't a word called palestinians in arabic because there isn't such nation!

    Constance,
Thank you for sharing that picture. It is really nice and brings back memories of when I first heard about you. I was, at the time of your picture, a freshman at Multnomah Bible College in Portland. I remember being home on a weekend and my mother asked me if I heard of what she called the "New Youth Movement". Of course I found out soon that is the New Age Movement. She had heard you on a radio broadcast. So I started diging into it. I think it was a year later I got my first copy of Hidden Dangers of the Rainbow. In the last 30 years I learned so much from you about the NAM. I went to a session at Multnomah that your were the guest speaker and I met you for the first time personally. I then went to see you at the Salem Armory and later on at the People's Church in Salem when you were speaking with Dave Hunt. What a 30 year period it has been and now everything you tried to warn Christians about is taking shape in a very open way. It isn't even subtle or a conspiracy now, it is right out in the open. God bless you Constance.

    All--

    http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/news/id.19403/title.tupac-coachella-hologram-mastermind-explains-creation

The creators of the Tupac hologram that appeared on stage during Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's set explains how it came to be.

Fans at Coachella 2012 yesterday were shocked when a hologram of Tupac Shakur appeared on stage to perform "Hail Mary" and "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, as if he were really there in the flesh.

MTV chopped it up with Nick Smith, president of hologram creation company AV Concepts, who explained how the collaboration with Dr. Dre came to be. "We worked with Dr. Dre on this and it was Dre's vision to bring this back to life," he said. "It was his idea from the very beginning and we worked with him and his camp to utilize the technology to make it come to life."

Smith remained mum on the details regarding the mechanics of the hologram, but said that it took nearly four months to create. A typical hologram can go for anywhere between $100,000 and $400,000, but Smith wouldn't reveal how much it cost. Instead, he said that his company can recreate deceased persons and recreate them in the studio.

"You can take their likenesses and voice and ... take people that haven't done concerts before or perform music they haven't sung and digitally recreate it," he said.

Interesting line: "his company can recreate deceased persons...," isn't it--in light of the times?

The gloves are off. The Vatican is ordering the reform of religious orders that deny Jesus is God, have embraced radical feminism, and have basically theologically insane.

The drama is going to continue with them playing the sorry victims, as the New Agers usually do. Just wanted to let you know.

"By and large the leadership of women religious in this country has gone so far off the deep end of theological speculation that they are entertaining the possibility that Jesus isn’t God, He didn’t die for us, God is in every created thing just like he is in you and me, equality for open homosexuals is the new civil rights issue, and social justice means everything but abortion, embryonic destructive research and euthanasia."

  28. Interesting point joey, about the Moses statue with horns. Supposedly this relates to rays of light coming from him after conversing with God, but that doesn't look like rays of light.

The DaVinci Code has an unexamined premise, that IF DaVinci coded some secret into his works then since he was such a genius that secret must be true.

On the contrary. Merely because he believed something doesn't prove it was true, only that he was part of some highly questionable line of thought. And being he was apparently a tad homosexual that doesn't say much for the philosophy.

I think I got into an argument somewhere about DV sexuality, and I don't want to have to dig for references again, so don't start one with me. I won't answer.

Religious war is a good concept, Constance. And I was thinking a few weeks ago, that given the satanism/luciferianism of the ruling elites, perhaps some of what we are looking at is a kind of satanic unholy war going on on the world stage, because when these Arab Spring things succeed, or rulers like Saddam Hussein get kicked out and the dust settles, Christians come out on the losing end.

It is a pity that the New Agers adopted some ancient symbols of The Holy Trinity to their own purposes. Probably because many of these were in Celtic art, and they were looking to preChristian aka pagan Celtic occult mystical whatnot, and stealing things that were not for such meaning. The Trefoil refers to the Trinity, relating to the Shamrock, because St. Patrick explained to a pagan Irish king, how The Trinity can be one God in Three Persons, he picked a shamrock and said, that this is one leaf on the stem, but three parts. Obviously pagan triads of gods are NOT the same concept as Trinitarianism.

  31. Savvy, I haven't been going to our local Episcopal parish, have been attending Catholic instead, but I went back to a Bible study at the Episcopal on Thursday. Imagine my horror when the priest said he does not believe in the substitutionary death of Jesus for us, he believes Jesus died to share in our repentance (that last part I might have garbled because he said it so quickly, but not believing in Jesus dying "for" us was clear). So that's the end of that. I thought this pastor and church at least believed in the basic gospel, although I had some other problems with them.
the Catholic pastor here sounds like a basic Evangelical Protestant preacher. Things are mixed up these days. Time for Jesus to sraighten us out.

    Christine,

The video you linked to at 10:29AM can bring one to only one of three possible conclusions:

    1. The US is the aggressor, leading the whole world to the brink of, and eventual world war, and is therefore the "bad guy", or

    2. Russia is the aggressor, using whatever excuse it can to attack the West / NATO, and is therefore the "bad guy", or

    3. Iran is the aggressor, and Russia is truly acting in self-defense.

I believe the reality is #2, after extensive research and after reading the writings of many observers, defectors and analysts.

It could be #3 as well.

But the tone of the article read in the video (the presenter of which cannot even pronounce Putin's name), and of many of the commenters under the video, and of you, from your past posts, matches the #1 viewpoint.

Anyone espousing viewpoint #1 is either actively engaged in anti-Western, anti-US propaganda, seeing and calling the US "world enemy #1", or has bought into the same, and is therefore either wittingly or unwittingly helping spread the kind of propaganda that will justify a crippling attack on the US to reduce or eliminate us as a world power in order to bring about "peace and security" - the kind of peace and security that will have non-Western powers at the helm (Russia / China / N. Korea / Venezuela /Cuba / Iran / etc).

There is no other way of interpreting things, as far as I can determine.

  33. Having said that, and saying also that I believe God has used in the past this great country to be a blessing to the rest of the world, and a light to the nations that led many to God, I think that we have now become evil - the daughter of Babylon - and are about to experience God's judgment.

  34. jeremiah2:36 PM

Sorry, Marko. It's God leading the nations on a path to world war. A path that will lead to the fulfillment of many Bible prophecies and warnings. (One of the Horsemen?) The U.S. has so moved away from God and continues to act arrogantly as if we can solve any of our many problems without God. We even rejected any possible presidential candidate that would act out of Christian faith. Revelation 18 is our fate. Read Lamentations because all Americans will feel the sting of Jeremiah's sorrow. I am certain there's a plot to one day take out America in a nuclear strike. 9/11 was just the coming attractions--a harbinger of what's to come. What America use to be and what it is now...it's almost too much to bear.

Judgement will strike Russia, China, Iran, and all nations. It's all a matter of time.

    ReplyDelete
  35. jeremiah,
The Lamentations of your namesake Jeremiah are all about what had already happened to Jerusalem in Jeremiah's time.
I can agree with your basic assessment of things to come but I don't think you have it right regarding
    Lamentations.
Jerusalem was besieged; the Babylonians surrounded the city and simply waited for the food and water to run out. People resorted to eating dead bodies. Starvation was everywhere and each day it got worse. Then they leveled the city, desecrated the temple and pulled down every stone of not only the temple but the city walls as well. The remaining people died of starvation, exposure in the wilderness or disease. The "lucky" ones were taken captive and made slaves in Babylon.
This book is not, I don't believe, a picture of the future, but a ghastly picture of the present as Jeremiah knew it.

As for your first sentence; "God is leading the nations on a path...etc."
God doesn't do that. People do that by their own sinful rejection of God.
I guess the upshot is the same and I do in fact agree with the results that you describe. But it's important not to suggest that God is doing this. He isn't. We are.
But I agree with Marko on the point that it's easy to read all the hype on the web about America being Babylon etc etc, but I think it's overstated. If we're that evil, what do you think the admittedly atheistic
China is? or the admittedly atheistic remnant of the USSR is? or the hateful, murderous likes of Iran and Syria are ? They're murdering Christians right now in Nigeria, and Sudan, and China.
The heartland of this country is still largely Christian; error, deceit, and Satanic infiltration notwithstanding.
    Pray for America.
    Pray for America.
God is still in the saving business.

Like Paul said, God is still in the saving business. As far as we might fall at the hands of foreign nations, I still believe that God holds America dear to His heart like no other country except Israel. I guess I believe in what you might call a "spiritual" American exceptionalism.

One could perhaps say that the nation of Israel is His chosen people, and we are runner up. Something like that. I believe there will be a remnant that is saved here, even as the rest is judged.

But yes, like Jeremiah said, the whole world is coming under the judgment of God. None shall escape, except those who call on the name of the Lord.

I can't find this this reference because nobody called Joey has posted above, but I do know that in mediaeval times it was common to portray Moses with horns, due to a mistranslation of the original Hebrew of Exodus 34. The ancient Greek translation known as the Septuagint was correct, but things went downhill in Latin translation; see

  40. "One could perhaps say that the nation of Israel is His chosen people, and we are runner up. Something like that. I believe there will be a remnant that is saved here, even as the rest is judged."

There is always a remnant saved out of wherever. But we cannot be runner up because chosen people was about being chosen out of the world to be worshipping YHWH and not the false gods which He tolerated for them for a time but loathed and later called ALL to repent, and the chosen people out of whom was to come the Messiah.

This has all been accomplished, but there are certain things in the chessboard of the world scene that God is not done with, obviously, and Israel probably is part of that.

One person's "conspiracy theory" is another person's documented details of history that are left out in standard overview textbooks in school.

I don't need any of that information to see there is something seriously wrong going on and has been for a long time. Eisenhower himself warned of the military industrial complex and it is routine (and has been back to his time) for military brass to retire to cushy positions in such companies, and for the agencies that oversee some industries to be staffed by representatives of same. Can you spell conflict of interest?

The fact is, the very position you take that america has become a daughter of Babylon and is going to be judged, is the only conclusion you can come to viewing the "conspiracy theories" with a Christian biblical mindset.

I don't need any of the illuminati related literature to see that we have been pissing off everyone and inviting attack for decades, that our attitude and behavior and exported popular culture smacks of the sins of pride, lust, greed, ambition and covetousness.

I don't need any conspiracy literature to see that Haliburton (Cheney involved, more conflict of interest) and Bechtel are bad to foreign employees not protected by OSHA here, or up to nothing but war profiteering and so interfaced to war making decision making elements that they can be promoting it.

    Christine,

America does *not* piss everyone off. It pisses SOME people off. But I happened to grow up in Western Europe under the US nuclear umbrella without which the Soviets would have continued west in the 1950s and 60s (as their own plans, now public, make clear); and for all the irritation I sometimes feel at the cultural assumptions of American tourists visiting my capital city, I always keep that in context of the nuclear umbrella and I remain profoundly grateful.

The mistake is to listen only to America's enemies. You should listen to America's friends as well, and you should not forget that just because every country in the world has plenty wrong with it, some are worse than others. Most US-hatred is based simply on ENVY, not that its enemies would admit it. They want to be rich, and they cannot conceive of setting up a social order that with hard work would permit it - so instead they want to take it by force from you. Keep your guard up, and may God bless America. It would be nice to see you use some words of blessing toward it; after all, you live there.

Specific incident in slo-mo at 1 min.

For the "uninitiated" (as was I), Lakers basketball player, Ron Artest, has changed his name officially to Metta World Peace. The back of his jersey says World Peace.

I have to chuckle at the very obvious real-life object lesson. I wonder how World Peace had such a problem with world peace? Shouldn't world peace exhibit peaceful and loving behavior?

Apparently World Peace has a violent history (who'd have guessed?)according to this commentator:

  43. YesNaSpanishTown,
As a NBA fan I've watched Ron Artest for years. He's the first one to start a fight, jump into a fight and/ or jump into the stands to fight. In short, he's a punk, which is too bad for the league and the game, because pro basketball is overall a gentlemanly sport; rough and tough yes, but not dirty by a long shot. For that, check out all these new "sports" like cage fighting etc. It's really disgusting how these sports have cropped up in just the past few years; "ultimate fighting" etc, etc.
They've elevated street thuggery to the level of a legitimate sport. It's a hundred steps backward for sports in general.

  48. Thanks for the info on the proposed EU "Super Presidency"

From the EU Observer April 20, 2012:

Ministers ponder creation of EU super-president

    1. BY ANDREW RETTMAN
    2.

BRUSSELS - Ideas kicking around in a reflection group of select EU foreign ministers include merging the roles of the EU Council and European Commission presidents.
A senior EU source told this website following a meeting of the club in the Val Duchesse stately home in Brussels on Thursday (19 April) that the new supremo would have more power than either Herman Van Rompuy or Jose Manuel Barroso do today but also more "democratic legitimacy" because he or she would be elected by MEPs.
In other reforms, the new figure would "streamline" the European Commission into a two-tier structure.
Every EU country would still have its own commissioner with their own vote in the college of 27 top officials. But as in some national set-ups, some commissioners would have more than one dossier while others would be the equivalent of ministers without portfolio.
The new super-president would also chair General Affairs Councils (GACs) - monthly meetings of foreign ministers which discuss internal Union affairs.
The EU Council President post was created by the Lisbon Treaty in 2009. But the Lisbon architecture is messy, with Van Rompuy, for instance, overseeing recent debate on EU fiscal reform, while Barroso's commission puts forward its own ideas and implements final decisions.
Van Rompuy and Barroso also represent the Union at international summits. But Van Rompuy is top dog in terms of protocol, while another post-Lisbon creature, the EU "high representative" - a job currently filled by Catherine Ashton - does day-to-day foreign relations.
Meanwhile, the GAC - an increasingly important policy-making body - is still chaired by a national minister from the rotating EU presidency.
"I have heard experts who say that it [the Van-Rompuy-Barroso merger] could be done without changing the [Lisbon] Treaty ... there is no appetite for a new Treaty," the EU source said.
The reflection group was formed by German foreign minister Guido Westerwelle in Berlin in March. It plans to meet two more times before the summer recess and to circulate a discussion paper at EU27-level in September.
The other countries in the club are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Spain. The French minister did not attend Thursday's session, however.
The Val Duchesse event also covered debate on "eurobonds" - the idea of mutualising EU government debt, a controversial one in Germany, where voters are hostile to paying more to borrow money so that weaker economies in the south can pay less.
"It could be acceptable for new projects but not to guarantee bad ones from the past, or old bad debt," the EU source said.

I think you're in denial, Paul. God has removed (or soon will remove) the veil of protection America has enjoyed during our existence. It's hard for an American to hear.

"The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with hewn stones; the sycamores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars."

God had done so before with his own chosen people. First, with the Kingdom of Israel and then with Judah--despite the many warnings God passed on through his prophets. America has had several warnings from God, and I'm not sure that we've paid attention. Whether or not Lamentations is a good reference is inconsequential. Americans will be grieving--9/11 was a taste of what's to come.

However, there of course is hope for the faithful. We have a salvation. God will dry every eye and wipe every tear. Our mourning shall turn to dancing.

(I'm not Jeremiah the prophet by the way. He died quite some time ago)

  50. Susanna, the reason I asked is because I want you to check physisit's credentials. I am not asking for the person's name, but I understand you have his name. The other person who knows and I asked, refused and put me on a wild goose chase through the appropriate location without enough information.

That is all. All you have to do is contact Cambridge University with his name and ask if he is in fact a graduate, you might add the question does he have any papers published on their site. you can put the answer here, or on my blog, and thus keep public. Something doesn't seem right about him, and credentials might not be the issue after all, in which case it is some other matter. This is a normal professional practice, legal and if there is objection to such checking, that in itself will say something about him, something wrong, even if the credentials are legitimate.

Again, I am not asking you to publish his name. Only ask Cambridge University in England if he is one of their graduates.

I have emailed to Susanna a photocopy of the first page of one of my technical publications in a well-known scientific journal (whose name appears on that page), showing my affiliation at the time as a researcher in Cambridge University's department of physics, the Cavendish Laboratory.

You wrote: "Something doesn't seem right about him, and credentials might not be the issue after all, in which case it is some other matter."

    Christine,

The Physicist has sent me a copy of one of his technical publications, which, as he said, appeared in a well-known scientific journal whose name appears on that page.

I have also personally seen some of his other essays. I also know about his membership in at least one other non-scientific organization through one of its websites. I also know of at least one of his scientific associates.

I have been corresponding with The Physicist for about a year and a half now and I have never had any reason to suspect that there might be anything wrong with his credentials.

I am more than satisfied that he is who he says he is and since I have not stooped to invading The Physicist's privacy in order to satisfy my own curiosity, I am certainly not going to do so in order to satisfy yours.

Moreover, since I am not buying a used car from him or investing money with him, or asking him to babysit my firstborn, I think it would be the height of crassness to go snooping around into his background as you have suggested.

Perhaps this is why the "other person who knows" whom you approached for information about The Physicist likewise refused to cooperate.

  55. Susanna, checking credentials is NOT invading privacy. it is normal business, personal, professional behavior. The front page of the University only links to some articles and without a specific time or publication to go to I am not able to do such a search to determine that all the writers are credentialed.

I will Assume from the information you have given me that his credentials are correct, HOWEVER, if he backs you in this attitude about privacy I will know from this that something ELSE is very wrong with him as an individual and a professional.

    Christine,

You are right. Checking credentials is NOT an invasion of privacy PROVIDED THAT YOU HAVE A LEGITIMATE RIGHT TO CHECK THEM AND PROVIDED THAT THE PERSON BEING CHECKED ON AGREES TO BEING CHECKED ON.

You do not have the kind of professional relationship with the Physicist that would entitle you to such information.

The mere fact that The Physicist happens to be profoundly annoying you by disagreeing with you on certain issues does NOT in and of itself give you the right to go snooping around into his background and identity - especially since he himself has publicly and explicitly chosen to remain anonymous.

    ReplyDelete
  58. 1. anyone who announces themselves as something can expect to be checked on. And they do not need to agree to it. Study up on investigative reporting for starters.

ANYONE has the right to check on Physist, you don't need any relationship of any kind to do so. that is the whole point about not being anonymous, and about saying where you get your degree or status or whatever from - SO THAT YOU CAN BE CHECKED ON BY ANYONE.

Second, it is not about issues we disagree on, as I said, not specific content but STYLE and tactics. I have run into identical and more severe behavior on highly biassed and crazy making disputes from people with agendas that you would probably not like.

Privacy is a concept akin to secrecy and a legal concept primarily hammered into American law by the lawyers for mobsters, perverts, and baby killers. There is such a thing as legitimate privacy, but your advertised credentials are not an example of this.

Details about his conduct at school, grade point average, disciplinary history if any, memberships of groups MIGHT be confidential, but not did he graduate with such and such a degree or not.

why all this secrecy and stonewalling? what does he have to hide? he seems to have a rather soothing quality I have learned to see as a red flag of damn trouble.

I suppose you got your notions of privacy from him, or your prior ignorance made you ripe pickings for this sort of thing?

enough of both of you. Sanity or I won't talk to you anymore. Who controls the flow of information controls the outcome or thinks he or she can.

In The Bible you don't see private arrangements out of sight except by Laban who was cheating Jacob right and left and cheating his daughters, who complained of his consuming their inheritance selling them and treating them like strangers, something normal in the Middle East some time later to recent, but not normal at the time or they wouldn't have complained.

Do nothing and have no arrangements or relationships without witnesses. If an attitude is being put about that privacy is so important as to compromise this, then you are either dealing with a manipulator at best, a fraud or worse at worst, or you are operating in a cultural environment that was shaped some time back by such people.

  59. Christine,

I find your latest posts very confrontational simply for the sake of being so. I told you in a private email that Physicist claims of his credentials were if anything modest. I also told you that one does not need to see a proper document from a institution, if said institution openly proclaims who said individual is to them. The facts are his credentials are EXACTLY AS HE CLAIMS.

He chooses not to post under his name, that is his right. Anything else you may claim as "not setting right" with you is absurd. You know nothing else about him for it not to set right. I find it funny that he challenges a video you found on youtube, and you challenge the integrity of three people.

I did not challenge his right to post anonymously, I did not ask you or Susanna to reveal his name to me, ONLY to check and tell me the results.

Your implication that I am challenging his right to post anonymously strikes me as either
    slipshod reading or dishonesty.

I made clear VERY clear that I was not after his name only a verification of his credentials.

Both you refuse to do so, one evasively and one on specious arguments.

Hmmmm. For all I know, JD and Susanna and Physicist are the same person under different identities, an easy thing to do.

Hmmmm. Perhaps no one wants to do this inquiry, because they would answer me falsely and I could check with Cambridge as to whether any inquiry had been made about an alleged PhD in physics in such and such a time frame, and they would say, no, it had not, and I would know you were lying. And I just thought of this, if you did inquire, they would probably answer my checking on you with a list of names inquired about, probably only one....

Of course if the inquiry came back that he was not a graduate, for sure I would out you!

SmallFarm, you are correct to a large extent, but remember Ephesians chapter 5 that what exposes is light.

I am not interested in any more discussions on all this. Ask Cambridge or not, and tell me or not. but don't waste blog space with vapid criticism based on trendy philosophy a false value system in the same family as "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas"

But anybody who thought I was mistaken is welcome to try to knock down the physics I expounded. I would respond with scientific arguments in good faith.

You have ducked my question. You wrote: "Something doesn't seem right about him, and credentials might not be the issue after all, in which case it is some other matter."

    From his Wikipedia profile:

"In 1965 he went to the United States, where he spent six years studying at various universities on a Fulbright Scholarship.[9] He visited the University of Chicago and the University of California, San Diego, and then enrolled in the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. There, he taught physics classes as a Teaching Assistant and carried on independent research; he also joined in the protests against the Vietnam War and was President of the Association of Foreign Students. He received his doctorate in physics from Virginia in 1971 with a thesis on Theory of the Elementary Excitation Spectrum of Superfluid Helium: the Roton Lifetime, extending his planned stay in the US by a year in order to continue his research. Returning to Spain he became a lecturer in solid-state physics at the Autonomous University of Madrid, UAM, and then in 1975 he became a Professor at Complutense University...."

You are demonstrating in that statement, part of what I am talking about. You accuse me of ducking the question in the past. I have EXPLICITLY stated during our exchanges how you twist things, shift ground and so forth. I have repeated these.

  70. now for something completely different. Has anyone noticed, that there is a lot of UFO space brother favoring type stuff, that is of course New Age, that either supports the NWO or recently claims the aliens will save us from it? Interesting propaganda.

However, something really odd is this.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDC2yKR14Q4&feature=g-vrec

A UFO abductee was told that a meteor would hit Earth in the future (this was said in 1988)in the Caribbean, and that (I guess after this) there would be only one government in the world, ruling from some artificial floating island in the middle of a black, dirty contaminated sea.

The same aliens or whatever were contacting others and apparently saying the same, I think this is all in Puerto Rico, since details that were kept from the public were reported by the several abductees, so they were talking to the same "people".

Puerto Rico has been a hotbed of this and of possibly underground Navy research black budget stuff over the decades, and the first place the chupacabra was reported, though I recall someone claimed something like this was reported in South America 150 years ago from the 1990s.

Any thoughts? Sounds to me like globalists who like population radical reduction wouldn't hesitate to keep us in the dark about an impending disaster, to make their own position better afterwards. They would be in position to persuade or scare anyone not on their team who stumbled on this to keep quiet. The usual excuse is "panic."

Meanwhile, FEMA is stockpiling body bags, grave liner boxes that could double as four body apiece coffins, food and other survival stuff, and hollow point ammunition. Seems like they are preparing for some major event in the near future, presumably to do with the New Madrid fault, which of course could be triggered by an impact.

Now whether there are aliens, demons masquerading, or people who descend from genetic experiments in the pre flood civilization (and some claim the aliens say they came from here originally), and please no arguments about this, believe it or reject it or mix and match, just don't bug me with standard scientific answers, this is the best combination of evidence and Biblical thinking and wierd findings usually ignored or suppressed by archaeology, that I can come up with, and yes, I think a lot of aliens are demons, or physical with demon familiars.

of great interest to those who figure all aliens are demons. (I think many are, but notice that the Crowley entity though similar had small eyes not big.)

particularly interesting is that some have come to similar conclusions outside of Christian theology, such as Jacques Vallee (an occultist leaks out in one of his books The Secret College or similar title and in a group photo with Anton LaVey) and John Keel who both argue these are "ultraterrestrials."

Also of interest, is the heavy occultism connections beyond just Jack Parsons to the whole rocket and space program.

Writer Nick Redfern, discussing his book Final Events, he is not a Christian but stumbled through some on a lot of strange stuff incl. a think tank in the govt. about this,
also details military efforts to study and use occult stuff.

One study supposedly done at Wright Patterson, involved using some technique of Jack Parsons', to briefly manifest some strange material like the Roswell wreckage, and then it disappeared.

This reminded me of something that when I read it reminded me also of some accounts of clothing of aliens.

A Russian monk, deceived by the sin of pride and therefore feeling special and amenable to something that would make him feel this way, was tricked by some demons who pretended to be angels. And they gave him some special clothing allegedly from heaven, which was finer than anything even silk and otherwise odd and beautiful, but when another monk made the Sign of The Cross over it, it disappeared, so the monk who was deceived realized he was deceived and repented and escaped the trap.

And given the tendency to undermine Christian doctrine when they have a chance, if they are not demons then they follow a view taught by demons, or at the very least know that Jesus Christ protects against witchcrafts and hypnoses and so forth when called on and sometimes without being called on, and caring for nothing but what furthers their own will, are willing to attack belief in Him so as to weaken us.

Let me tell you of an EXPERIENCE, in fact TWO. My biological so called mother on two occasions ran scurrying away, once when I prayed to God and once when I (followed by another saying the same) said "satan, I bind you in Jesus' Name."

it was as if she was so interfaced to the devil that when he ran she ran with him. It took me a long time to figure that one out.

Yet she was very physically real. And on two occasions that were obvious to me, she was able to get inside my head and make me do and say stuff that I didn't feel and made no sense to me to be saying.

Also, on one occasion, the last time, she almost possessed me.

Yet she was very physically real.

Ergo, there could be physical aliens who are also demonized.

  90. HAARP or the hand of God? probably both. And then there is climate change caused by the sun, something odd going on on other planets also, and maybe the nibiru brown dwarf and its orbiters and asteroids in tow theory is true. And Charles Hapgood's Earth's Shifting Crust idea. Which if nibiru is true could get triggered by this, notice the cataclysm after the fourth horseman in Revelation chapter 6.

More research on nibiru, seems this idea goes back to Nazi occultism and some channellers with the Thule Society, incl. the 3600 year orbit story. that doesn't rule out the existence of it, but that 3600 year orbit thing is real handy to try to write off Exodus as not divine just natural, along nowdays with some badly mistimed Egyptian writings on disasters that don't remotely resemble the Exodus plagues or anything else. The most it could refer to is the occasion for the massive rebuilding that the Hebrew slaves would have been working on, not the Exodus itself.

Occultism usually combines truth and falsehood. Just look at alchemy and how chemistry developed out of that. Shed the nonsense and mystical garbage and get to work and you have modern chemistry.

The fourth horseman has definitely been at work in Asia and India and Africa and part of the mechanism is human activity as is that of the third horseman.

Try not to be living in locations at 100 foot and lower elevation.

Zechariah Sitchin can be ignored, but the odd behavior of govt. entities building huge bunkers deep underground, and the IR telescopes and the Antarctic telescope fit the picture of planning to deal with something big.

The cataclysm in Revelation 6 describes people of various social levels, looking to hide in rocks and caves to escape something that displaces mountains and islands.
The sky rolling up like a scroll would fit the black cloud rolling across from supervolcanos (Yellowstone is only one) going off. The stars falling is how a fast crustal movement and/or axis flip would make the night sky look to someone on the surface.

So it is only going to get worse before it gets better.

Sort of, Christine. The occult aspects of alchemy were to do with an extension of the concept of refining, from the material to the spiritual. Jesus Christ had already taught us how to do that, but the alchemists preferred their way. What we call chemistry today would better be thought of in their era as material chemistry rather than spiritual chemistry.

The same goes in astrophysics, where astrology sought to relate astronomy to human spirituality. Shockingly (I am a Christian), astrology remained mainstream in both Catholic and protestant lands until the Enlightenment began to cast doubt on the supernatural in general.

  92. yes, there are two ways out of occultism, biblical Christianity and rationalistic materialism.....which eventually leaves such a dry state that one is seduceable by the deceptive allures of the occult. Some want their will done and some just want some feelings. the former move towards magic the latter towards a false mysticism.

Alchemy started focussing on the spiritual as the material goals failed, though hermeticism always had a wierd component, the philosophy may TALK about God and Christ, but on closer look it is a "god" who is manipulatable, a soul that underlies things but is susceptible to control.

This substrate of all creation, if it is exists and probably does, is NOT God but a creature of God. If the universe itself and all matter is dimly conscious that does not make it God. Water doesn't flow uphill as someone said, God made cosnciousness so has to be more conscious than anything or anyone else.

I read the Turba Philosophorum, and what I get is two things. Everyone is ranting like nuts but each expert has a different story. AND, the only point in common is it is a process of break down, do things to components and reassemble the mess into something else. This is of course simple chemistry and cooking.

I suspect that "mercury" is not mercury and not spiritual either, but some compound with a fluid or semi fluid metallic look, and they didn't mind watching people destroy themselves with mercury vapors in the meantime.

I also suspect, that the whole thing started, the idea of making gold, by some lackey misunderstanding some Egyptian process of getting gold traces out of slag into recognizeable form.

    Christine,

It is a pleasure to agree with you about matters spiritual in your preceding post. I would add that there are various forms of humanism: Christian humanism (in the Renaissance); secular humanism (in the Enlightenment); occult humanism (the New Age pick-and-mix approach).

Mercury is simply a metal with a melting point lower than room temperature. But it is an element - it is 100% atoms having the same number of protons in the atomic nucleus - and like any other metal it has a melting point and a boiling point.

There was always an obvious financial motive for making gold. But it is not possible by chemical means.

    Physicist

    ReplyDelete
  94. mercury was a big deal in the hermetic alchemic literature. Philosophical mercury, p. salt, p. fire, p. sulfur, etc. etc. something other than the literal normal stuff, but NOT something "spiritual" either.

my guess is, they stumbled on a lot of stuff that was kept hidden.

As for gold, transmutations were apparently made, but my guess is they were a compound that would pass medieval assay tests, having the same weight per bulk and color and melting point as gold, and not disassociating into their component elements when heated to melting, BUT WOULD NOT OF COURSE PASS A SPECTROGRAPHIC ASSAY.

    ReplyDelete
  95. needless to say, there was no spectrography in those days. but I think some alleged alchemic gold exists in a museum somewhere, it might be interesting to locate and subject to spectrographic analysis.

Of course, once its component elements and percentages were known, that would give everyone the formula for counterfeiting gold, which is already going on by gold plating tungsten or titanium I forget which bullion, a minor scandal a year or so back, and it would just get way out of control.

I recall reading once of a medieval city state or kingdom or something that put out an order for all alchemic gold to be turned in, would be paid for, no questions asked, just get this stuff off the streets apparently.

    ReplyDelete
  96. my guess is, there would also be significant difference between gold and alchemic fake gold, in electrical qualities not to mention how it would alloy with some metals. whether the electrical quality would be less or better I have no idea, but again, another test the medieval assayers could not have done.

    Christine,

It's not particularly clear what scientific claims you are making - or are claiming on behalf of mediaeval alchemists - but experiments using apparatus millions of times more accurate than the mediaevals had consistently confirm that the number of atoms of each element at the start and end of a chemical reaction are the same. There is every reason to suppose that the same was true back then, and that any claims to the contrary were erroneous or charlatanism; it is implausible that the alchemists had any knowledge of materials that is unknown today after many more millions of fruitful man-years of research.

In such chemical reactions it is perfectly possible to start with stuff that doesn't *look* like gold and end with stuff that does (and maybe is, if you start with gold ore; but remember "fools' gold", which is iron pyrites).

Transmutation of elements can be done only inside nuclear reactors, and the conditions required are so extreme that they occur in nature only inside stars.

I suspect that mercury was a big deal to alchemists because it is the only metal to be liquid at room temperature. It has an obvious fascination.

I think I made it clear, that the transmutations were not actual ones.

That what they had was something that would pass most assay, but not being real gold would not pass a modern spectrographic assay.

I don't see how you can honestly say I am making any physics claims at all, in saying compounds alloys could exist that could mimic gold.

Or in mentioning the obviously no physics oddity whatever of electroplating gold onto tungsten or titanium bars.

Please don't start another round of twisting my words then arguing beside the point. I won't answer you. It is a waste of time.

Would such a transmutation under the required conditions somehow involve the addition or removal of subatomic particles? ( i.e. electrons, protons, neutrons )

  102. Part IIIb of the current series “Bill Johnson: A New Age Christ?” is now posted:

    http://notunlikelee.wordpress.com/2012/04/27/bill-johnsons-christology-a-new-age-christ-part-iiib/

In making the claim that “we have the privilege of the Word becoming flesh in us again” he effectively denies the uniqueness of the Jesus Christ as THE Word made flesh. On the surface this is manifested sons of God teaching, but it goes deeper than that. Analyzing Johnson’s words (on audio) illustrates that Jesus is the ‘Word of Faith’ (WoF) “rhema” ‘Word made flesh’, i.e., He is the “Word” in the sense of ongoing revelation. This is strikingly similar to the words of Levi Dowling in his book The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ

But, it gets worse. Johnson goes further. Using John 6:63 as a proof-text (“The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life”), he claims that when Jesus spoke, His Words literally became Spirit. By this he means ‘Holy Spirit’, but in reality it's the WoF tangible, transferable “anointing”. He goes even further claiming that all ministry can be summed up as “imparting the Person of the Spirit of Christ into the atmosphere, into a situation.”

While this teaching is, of course, not Biblical, I do believe I’ve found the occult basis for this doctrine. It’s the impartation of the ‘etheric realm’, or panentheistic realm. Alice Bailey states that the characteristic of the etheric realm is omnipresence which, of course, makes sense from a monistic perspective:

…Omnipresence has its basis in the substance of the universe, and in what the scientists call the ether; this word “ether” is a generic term covering the ocean of energies which are all inter-related and which constitute that one synthetic energy body of our planet. [Telepathy and the Etheric Vehicle; p 2]

    Bailey also states elsewhere:

Instruction is being given at this time to a special group of people who have come into incarnation at this critical period of world’s history. They have come in, all at the same time, throughout the world, to do the work of linking up the two planes, the physical and the astral, via the etheric. [Initiation, Human and Solar; p 67]

There’s much more in the article.

I want to stress that while this article is about Bill Johnson, these teachings are rampant within hyper-charismaticism.

The article also goes into the “spiritual DNA” teaching which is in both hyper-charismatic and “Emergent” circles.

    ReplyDelete
  103. there is something very fleshly, physical, mechanistic about some of the ideas in charismaticism. Spiritual DNA is a wierd concept. I don't read such stuff, so I don't know what they mean by it, but if you want to talk about organizational pedigrees and origins of some teachings that is another matter, and it doesn't look good for them.

Christine: I was definitely not asserting on this occasion that you were talking scientific nonsense, but often it is not easy to work out your precise meaning from what you post, so I did my best to clarify the science involved.

Susanna (7.12pm): Yes. It would involve changes to the nuclei of the atoms, which contain protons and neutrons. Chemistry deals only with the cloud of electrons that orbit the nuclei, and how these clouds interact when atoms approach each other.

  105. "Spiritual DNA" is a concept prevalent in New Age/occult. The teaching is such that we have dormant DNA awaiting to be activated, and, once activated, we are on our way to actualizing our divinity. From one such site:

    http://humanityhealing.net/2010/08/spiritual-dna/

"In our current DNA structure, we have two visible strands, which are called backbone DNA, but all the other 10 other strands are present…According to Esoteric teachings, the first two strands are Physical DNA, the other ten strands are Spiritual DNA.

"…Activating your dormant DNA, which in time will also give you access to the secrets and mysteries of which you are and what your life-purpose is, will allow you to realize your full potential here on Earth."

And one other which is more direct:

    http://www.atam.org/DNA.html

"…The 97% of your DNA that’s not activated is GOD waiting to be activated in man. You have the information and intelligence of the Adam the son of God encoded in your DNA. Access and activation to this information will cause you to live as Adam the God-man in the Garden of your Be-ing….

"One will only be able to fulfill the Divine purpose when he is walking in awareness of his own divinity. It is our belief system that hinders us from being the Gods we are…"

One has to wonder why anyone in the 'church' would adopt terminology that is explicitly occult/New Age.

That should be enough. After all, I take your name on trust.

No one said the Physicist was above question, only that his credentials were what he claimed. If you can manage to challenge him or wish to have a debate with him on a subject have at it. This conversation started with him challenging a video you posted. You objected about his claimed credentials, we told you we could verify his claims, you continue to object. I don't need to call Cambridge to ask, when I can physically see them with a click of a search engine. When I can see his body of work...etc.

If this is the only point of conjecture, I have no other business in the conversation and will see my way out of it.

    ReplyDelete
  116. YOU did NOT say you had asked Cambridge and when asked to do so you REFUSED. That is the issue. Seeing his published articles are NOT seeing his credentials, which are statement from Cambridge that yes he graduated and yes he holds a PhD from them.

That is what I specified. Fine if you don't want to discuss, you have nothing to say to me of any use anyway. There have been people who pulled off considerable cons involving alleged credentials which, going unchecked with the appropriate office, went far in their professions and I think got published also.

Probably he is legit, but refusal to send a simple phone or email makes no sense. In the time you have spent arguing about it, you could have done it and had an answer back. I did this once when someone claimed Oxford never heard of someone else, and the answer came back yes, he was a PhD from Oxford. No request as to why I was asking was made or should have been made.

You DO NOT HAVE TO SAY THE WORDS that someone is above question, in order to say it with your behavior and attitude.

  117. Physicist, I don't care what your name is, I have made that clear. I have not asked for your name, only for someone who DOES know your name to ask Cambridge's records office if you have the degree from them you claim.

"You don't need to know my credentials as I have never attempted to use an argument from authority to shortcut a scientific argument."

Ridiculous. Once you announced your PhD in physics you were doing exactly that.

There are better things to discuss at this blog than my credentials. But it seems to me that you interpret my reluctance to say more about myself, or to give my blessing to say more to those here who know me, as implying that I have something to hide. There will be people reading a blog attacking the New Age from whom I prefer to conceal personal details.

I never used my status as a PhD in physics to *shortcut* a scientific argument, by saying for example "I am not going to fill in the gaps in this argument - trust me". I explained my status simply so that anyone who *chose* to trust me could skim over the science if they wished. You, I was seeking to educate in some of the physics relating to what you have been saying.

Why are you so keen to check me out in this way; and why do you not regard as sufficient Susanna's witness that my name appears with a Cambridge affiliation on the first page of a scientific paper published in a prominent journal? I don't run a cult (whatever you might think), but you could not determine that from my doctoral status anyway. And, given some of the over-stringent data protection laws in my country nowadays, I doubt that Cambridge would even confirm my identity over the phone to myself.

As for the rest of your claims, yes there are con men, but as Physicist pointed out, I can take Cambridge's acknowledgement of a affiliation with him as verification. This is what I have been saying all along, Cambridge has publicly acknowledged him, so what use is calling them or emailing. It's not a matter of refusal, it's a lack of necessity.

Maybe I haven't been concise enough, maybe it doesn't matter to you.

  120. A good con can and has gotten affiliated with something, because he has talent and capability in the field even if not credentialed, when a routine check would turn up some other information. As I said, it would take you less effort to make the inquiry of the records dept. than to argue about it. A diploma on a wall is best supported by a record of it at the supposed source.

PROBABLY HE IS LEGIT, but at the very least what I see here is a rejection of a normal procedure that is such an intense rejection as to make me wonder what clouding is going on in your minds and hearts (the deep part of the mind not just feelings though it can produce feelings).

Really, I think if you are going to research any subject you ought to be prepared to make inquiries, check sources and check persons.

And that is normal professional and scholarly behavior.

I don't care what his opinions are, I don't care if he is in their records or not, I don't care what his expertise is, physics or cooking or art or whatever, I don't care if he is half martian on psych meds half the time from a genetic misfire of a miscalculated hybridization.

What I care about, is that when a question is asked, in a way that does not risk compromising his security, asking another to do the asking, the reaction is so negative.

YOU may have a lack of necessity, regarding him as an individual. But you DON'T have a lack of necessity to have good habits on stuff like this, and I do not have a lack of necessity since I can't run through all their publications and to keep his security safe you can't point me to any batch of them.

My whole attitude and personal background has been of necessity to develop an investigator's mindset. Never licensed as a private investigator, never tried to be, but this kind of reaction I am getting is a red flag about something wrong, either with him, with the clicque, or with the burgeoning culture or some psychological thing.
