Not part of this story, but thought JD, Suzanne and Dorothy might want to check this one out! Transhumanism, conscious evolution? |
Evil is not always apparent in its development, nor is it always obvious in its initial expressions. All too often, it takes the biblically warned form of an 'angel of light.' Many have told me of their admiration and belief in the well footnoted writings of Bat Ye'or (Gisele Littmann). She detailed Islamist persecution of minorities in countries where Islamists were majorities. I retained vaguely undefined and uncomfortable feelings about same due to detailed knowledge I acquired over years of research of New Age schemes and goals.
I here explore possible influences, pressures, and/or motivations of this historian, Bat Ye'or and her spouse, David Littmann, Ph.D. That her work had been inspiration for the recent rampage of Norwegian killer Anders Breivik is now acknowledged history. Bat Ye'or is the author of Eurabia. It sounds alarms on what she portrays as an Arabic overrunning of Europe. She calls her forebodings "Dhimmitude" as a potential for future servitude of Christian and Jewish Europeans to the alleged invading Islamic Arab hordes. Many of my own blogspot readers were in agreement with her.
I retained deep reservations about the thrust of Bat Ye'or's work because of my familiarity with the well defined and oft articulated New Age strategy of pitting target groups off against each other. This would happen, strategists hoped, after first compromising each and every target group with syncretism. The syncretism took forms of Sufism for the Moslems; "humanistic" and "progressive Judaism" for Jews; and various forms of esoteric and "post-modern" Christianity for Christians. Those remaining true to their faiths and traditions would go on to destroy each other in a "massive, mutual venting of long pent up aggression." (Peter LeMesurier, THE ARMAGEDDON SCRIPT, Aquarian Press, London, 1981.)
From Alice Bailey through David Spangler and many other writers, target groups were clearly defined as monotheistic religions, "Peoples of the Book": Jews, Christians and Moslems.
Interestingly, over the past 25 years, Bat Ye'or and husband have not worked alone. Religiously, they describe themselves as "progressive Judaism." They are closely associated with a prominent and militant New Ager by the name of Rene Wadlow. From the New Age theaters of Action of World War IV through Planetary Citizens, World Citizens, and Theosophy, Rene Wadlow is a mover and shaker in most major phases (including globalization and multiculturalism) of the New Age Movement.
Wadlow claims to have been a student of former League of Nations Disarmament section head, Salvador de Madariaga. De Madariaga was highly revered in Lucis Trust / School of Spiritual Research (Ascona, Switzerland under the direction of Alice Bailey and Olga Froebe Kapteyn) as well as other European Theosophical and Sufi religion circles. Salvador de Madariaga is the grandfather / uncle / cousin of Javier Solana depending on which version of the ever changing genealogies one cares to accept.
I do not make my charges against Bat Ye'or and her husband lightly. They are conclusions I sadly reach after reviewing their very publicly stated affiliations and associations over the past decades. Their most disturbing affiliations from my perspective are those of the World Citizen Movement, Fellowship of Reconciliation, and the World Federalist Movement. To deny that any of those organizations are aggressively "multicultural" in direction and scope would be disingenuous.
For the record and to her credit, Bat Ye'or has expressed what I assume to be sincere regret that her writings were misused as inspiration for Anders Breivik and his rampage. Curiously, however, in the statements imputed to her was that she had no control over what was used as her copyrighted and protected work was in "the public domain." Breivik claimed on page 50 of that 1500 page document that she had been kind enough to send him certain documents. He also wrote:
What follows is a brief outline of the thesis put forward by writer Bat Ye'or in her book Eurabia: The Euro-Arab Axis. My information is based on her book (which should be read in full). In addition I have drawn from some of her articles and interviews. I republish the information with her blessing, but this summary is completely my own. (Page 289, of the "2083" Manuscript)
As I have myself sometimes had my work bastardized by those with less than stellar motives, I am not without sympathy for the now public plight of Bat Ye'or. I was frankly relieved not to see myself quoted in Breivik's 1516 page tome. However, I have seen no public response by her in my own internet searches to his claim that he used her material "with her blessings."
Despite this writer's empathy for the plight of Bat Ye'or and all misrepresented writers, I still must question her motive for her Eurabia campaign. It is obviously as inflammatory against Arabs as "International Jew" theories were and are against Jews. At all times I bear in mind the overarching strategies of New Age / Global Civil Society / Global Governance planners to pit monotheistic target group members off against each other. (See Alice Bailey, Appendix to THE RAYS AND THE INITIATIONS, page 574 saying "Palestine should no longer be called the Holy land . . . Jerusalem stands for nothing of importance today, except for that which has passed away and should pass away . . . The task ahead is to shut the door upon this worse and secondary evil and shut it in its own place . . .")
The emphasis on the slayings placed by the Today Show interview of Ann Curry (Monday, July 25, 2011) with an injured victim was that of anti-multiculturalism as the reason for the slayings. The youngsters on the island were, per the interviewee, killed for their beliefs in multiculturalism.
If there is one pronounced thing that World Federalists, World Citizens, Rene Wadlow, and yes, David Littmann stand for, it is multiculturalism. Anders Breivik (Andrew Berwick) made boastful claims that he would as cheerfully pull a trigger on a Jew advocating multiculturalism just as he would any other element of society promoting same. (Page 1374 of the 2083 Berwick document)
Bat Ye'or and husband are long time activists with deep rooted globalist, multicultural organizations of World Federalists, World Citizens, Fellowship of Reconciliation, and World Education Association. Rene Wadlow represents the World Citizens at the United Nations. Lucis Trust insider Donald Keys and friend Norman Cousins headed World Federalists in the past. Donald Keys (also a long time associate of Rene Wadlow) worked actively with Alice and Foster Bailey at Lucis Trust. Strobe Talbott is yet another former World Federalist president.
Unmentioned in most of the Eurabia material is that David Littmann and Rene Wadlow are the chief architects and proponents of a "Middle East Peace Plan" they claim preceded the 1991 Madrid Conference (for which Javier Solana was heavily involved in behind the scenes coordination). Their plan looks obviously to be of a "NEW WORLD RELIGION" genre. It was introduced by them to the United Nations in resolution form in 1991 and then reintroduced in 2000 and 2004. It was a call for a UNITED STATES OF ABRAHAM. Included in it was this language:
"Under and within the world concept of the United Nations Organization, one must create the Family of the Middle East in a regional structure called, it may be, the United States of Abraham, and the first practical step would be to form a Council of Abraham. If at first all the Peoples, Nations and States of the Middle East are not willing or able to join the Union, one must nevertheless proceed to assemble and combine those who will and those who can. The salvation of all the peoples in the Middle East from war or servitude must be established on solid foundations. In all this urgent work, Israel, Jordan and the Palestinians must take the lead together."
There is a Lucis Trust defined mind set that must be understood in relation to current events and players. The belief, not entirely without foundation, is that people are easily swayed by "imparted fears." Holding that in mind, proponents are not above imparting fears of their own.
The Catholic Church in its baptismal vows and confirmations has its audiences repeat after "Do you reject Satan?, "I do." In contrast, the occult world view shared by top New Age activists is that their "hierarchy" (Lucifer, 'Sanat Kumara', Solar Logos) are our protectors. The intensity of that New Age doctrine is told, inter alia, in Alice Bailey's THE RAYS AND THE INITIATIONS (Released 1960 by Lucis Trust). For example:
"For untold aeons, the Hierarchy has stood like a shield, guarding humanity. But with the coming of a greatly increased mental development, with the repudiation of the Hierarchy by the bulk of humanity, and by the prostitution of religion to material ends and narrow theological and mental tenets, the Hierarchy has been forced . . . to withdraw some measure its protecting power . . . The way to the door where evil dwells was unimpeded and humanity opened wide the door [this refers to what the New Agers term 'peoples of the book turning to the one true God!] The entrance for what might be regarded as cosmic evil was first opened in the decadent days of the Roman Empire [a typical New Age blaming of Emperor Constantine who first made persecution of Christians illegal].
Then, there were the Lucis Trust / Theosophical attitudes expressed vis a vis the world's three major monotheistic religions:
"There are certain areas of evil in the world today through which these forces of darkness can reach humanity. What they are and where they are I do not intend to say. I would point out, however, that Palestine should no longer be called the Holy Land; its sacred places are only the passing relics of three dead and gone religions. The spirit has gone out of the old faiths and the true spiritual light is transferring itself into a new form which will manifest on earth eventually as the new world religion. To this form all that is true and right and good in the old forms will contribute . . Judaism is old, obsolete and separative and has no true message for the spiritually-minded which cannot be better given by the newer faiths; the Moslem faith has served its purpose and all true Moslems await the coming of the Imam Mahdi . . . the Christian faith also has served its purposes; its Founder seeks to bring a new Gospel and a new message that will enlighten all men everywhere. THEREFORE, JERUSALEM STANDS FOR NOTHING OF IMPORTANCE TODAY EXCEPT FOR THAT WHICH HAS PASSED AWAY. THE 'HOLY LAND' IS NO LONGER HOLY, BUT IS DESECRATED BY SELFISH INTERESTS AND BY A BASICALLY SEPARATIVE AND CONQUERING NATION. [referring to Israel].
"The task ahead of humanity is to close the door upon this worst and yet secondary evil and shut it in its own place." (from Page 574 of THE RAYS AND THE INITIATIONS, Alice A. Bailey, Lucis Press)
Those are the writings of Alice Bailey for which Rene Wadlow is a clear and unashamed disciple. And yet, we see this seemingly contrasting item by Rene Wadlow and David Littmann, Ph.D. (Bat Ye'or's spouse):
“I wish to speak today about the tragedy of the Middle East. This noble ancient region is the fountain of the three Abrahamic faiths. It is the spiritual origin of more than half of humanity. If the Middle East were united in the sharing of its common inheritance, there would be no limit to the happiness, to the prosperity and the glory which its tens of millions of people would enjoy. Yet it is within the Middle East that have sprung frightful nationalist and religious quarrels, which have wrecked the peace and marred the prospects of that vast area of the world. “Yet all the while there is a remedy, which if it were generally and spontaneously adopted by the great majority of people in these lands, would as if by a miracle transform the whole scene, and would in a few years make all of the Middle East, or the greater part of it, free and happy as Switzerland is today. What is this sovereign remedy? It is to create the “Family of Abraham” – or “Family of Ibrahim,” dependent on one’s pronunciation of that hallowed personage – and to provide it with a structure under which it can dwell in peace, in safety and in freedom. We must build a kind of “United States of Abraham.
Now is this really about building a "United States of Abraham"? Or could it more ominously be a shutting of the "three dead and gone religions" into their "own separate place." There is reason to suspect that it could wittingly or unwittingly be the latter, especially given the deep Rene Wadlow, David Littmann and Bat Ye'or triangle.
Marilyn Ferguson
Now deceased New Age chronicler Marilyn Ferguson was also a friend of Rene Wadlow. Here is how her book THE AQUARIAN CONSPIRACY described the shutting of us into our 'separate places':
"The Aquarian Conspiracy is using its widespread outposts of influence to focus on the dangerous myths and mystiques of the old paradigm [us!], to attack obsolete ideas and practices." (Aquarian Conspiracy, page 34)
Citing Ilya Prigogine, she wrote of "stress and perturbations" that would "thrust us into a new and higher order." (Page 25, Ferguson) Clearly, whether opportunistic or planned, the tragic Norwegian events of Friday, July 22, 2011, have thrust us potentially into a new and dangerous order. That it is "higher is both doubtable and debatable.
Ferguson also wrote:
"Cultural transformation announces itself in sputtering fits and starts, sparked here and there by minor incidents, warmed by new ideas that may smoulder for decades. In many different places, at different times, THE KINDLING IS LAID FOR THE REAL CONFLAGRATION -- the one that will consume the old landmarks and alter the landscape forever." (page 37)
Wittingly or unwittingly, perhaps under the influence of their brazenly New Age friend, Rene Wadlow, perhaps as their own ideas from their own New Age associations, Bat Ye'or and husband have helped to lay significant amounts of inflammatory kindling. The young people of Norway killed at the Utoya Island massacre by Anders Breivik have now become widely publicized martyrs of multiculturalism. As such they are prospective, yet to be canonized saints of the "New World Religion."
I have long watched with dismay games played by New Agers that I have termed "watch the fundamentalists run." We need to be diligent not to take their bait. I am frankly skeptical that Anders Breivik (Andrew Berwick) wrote that 1516 page document all by himself. The document appears to push many buttons that could point back to opponents of the New Age agenda and the European Union. I rather suspect that it may have well been a calculated effort to give excuses to shut the rest of us down. Be that as it may, the kindling, whether accidentally or carefully laid, is obviously about to "forever alter the landscape" as it advances the Alliance of Civilizations goal of regulating religious education and expression -- worldwide.
Given my present understanding, I cannot help but suspect that the Bat Ye'or works were kindling to incite Christian and Jewish hatred against Moslems rather than a spirit of love that motivates understanding and conversion. Let's not help ignite the kindling! Jesus said, it is inevitable but that evil should come, but woe to him through whom it comes."
May the Lord help us all!
Stay tuned!

ReplyDeleteOf course, we all know what it's all 'about'....and that is to ultimately achieve their goal of creating a new one-size-fits-all One World 'Religion' that doesn't 'offend' the masses.
One day in the future....all of us from orthodox, traditional 'old age' religions (Protestant, Catholic, Jew) will eventually have to go 'underground' in order to practice our religious faith....if we haven't been killed first!!!
I will be discussing this topic on the air tonight with OPEN LINES and I hope that many of your will call into 1-888-747-1968 with questions.

Constance,
ReplyDeleteThe persecution of Christian minorities in Muslim countries is a reality. I know that this however, should not be used to wage a war against Islam, since nobody is going to win in this battle.
Europe needs to realize that their enemy is not multi-cultuarlism, but the cult of relativism.
They want to be cultural Christians, with moral license to what they want.

Norway terrorist suspect denounces Benedict XVI in online manifesto
ReplyDeleteRome, Italy, Jul 27, 2011 / 05:55 pm (CNA/EWTN News).
"An extensive online book written by Anders Behring Breivik criticizes Pope Benedict XVI for defending the rights of immigrants, especially Muslims.
In his manifesto, “2083—European Declaration of Independence,” Breivik calls Benedict XVI “God’s Rottweiler,” and accuses him of “embodying elements of the sensible and the silly Christian ways of treating the Islamic threat.
“Although Benedict has stressed the need for 'reciprocity' in Christian-Muslim relations and urged Islamic countries to ensure religious rights for Christian migrants, he has also said that Christians should continue welcoming Muslim immigrants with open arms,” Brievik wrote.
Breivik was arrested for detonating a car bomb at the government headquarters in downtown Oslo on July 22. That attack took the lives of eight people and injured many more.
Hours later he appeared at a youth camp for the children of the political Labour Party on Utoya Island. Dressed as a police officer, he began a shooting spree that killed 68.
Massimo Introvigne, a sociologist and representative of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, recently spoke with Vatican Radio and responded to reports labeling Breivik as a fundamentalist Christian.
Introvigne said it was ironic that Breivik’s book was posted online by a minister of the “Church of Satan,” which is legally recognized in Norway.
He added that Breivik, who was baptized in the Lutheran Church of Norway, is not a fundamentalist Christian, but rather a ‘cultural Christian’ who uses the Christian heritage of Europe as a pretext for attacking Islam.”
The sociologist also pointed out that Breivik belongs to the Grand Masonic Lodge of Norway.

I knew the name Massimo Introvigne sounded unpleasantly familiar to me. He is the founder of CESNUR which bluntly has specialized all too often in disinformation about the New Age Movement. He is close to J. Gordon Melton and the rest of the crowd attempting to keep us from smelling rats.

Check this on MASSIMO INTROVIGNE and his buddy J. GORDON MELTON:
ReplyDeleteVampirism hobby
In 1997, J. Gordon Melton and Introvigne organized an event at the Westin Hotel in Los Angeles where 1,500 attendees came dressed as vampires for: "creative writing contest, Gothic rock music and theatrical performances"[18] Melton came dressed as Dracula.[19]
Melton is the American President of The Transylvanian Society of Dracula, and Introvigne is the Italian director of the society, which includes the leading academic scholars in the field of the literary and historical study of the vampire myth.[18][20] An informative page in Italian about the society is hosted at Introvigne's CESNUR institute for the study of new religious movements, with which Melton is actively involved.[21]
Melton and Introvigne also participated in several international conferences on vampires, including one on "Buffy, the vampire slayer", in Nashville, TN in 2004. Introvigne was titled as: "president" of the Transylvanian Society in Italy, and Dr. Melton was titled as the "Count Dracula Ambassador to the U.S.".[22] The large bibliography on vampire comics Introvigne and Melton posted on CESNUR's Web site in 2008 is discussed above, under "Work".

House panel approves bill forcing ISPs to log users’ web history
ReplyDeleteJuly 28, 2011
The House Judiciary Committee approved legislation on Thursday that would require Internet service providers (ISPs) to collect and retain records about Internet users' activity.
CNET reported the bill would require ISPs to retain customers' names, addresses, phone numbers, credit card numbers, bank account numbers, and temporarily-assigned IP addresses for 12 months.
The bill passed by a vote of 19 to 10, and is aimed at helping law enforcement track down pedophiles.
"The bill is mislabeled," Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), a senior member of the panel told CNET. "This is not protecting children from Internet pornography. It's creating a database for everybody in this country for a lot of other purposes."

Has anyone here read any of Warren B. Smith's books, that expose various deceptions in the church today? He is an ex-New Ager.
ReplyDeleteI've seen some reviews of his books that say his work isn't that scholarly, but I don't know if the reviewers just didn't like his message or what, so I'm looking for some honest appraisal of his work from anyone here who has read it.
Thanks!
Marko,
ReplyDeleteI read his autobiography (cannot recall the title) and it was okay, not particularly deep. It was similar to another book discussed here a while back by Randall Baer called "Inside the New Age Nightmare."
The problem I had with both the above books is that I felt they left a lot of questions unanswered. For instance, Baer said he practiced as a "Naturopathic Doctor" (whatever that means) but he didn't state anywhere how/where/when he got that training. He said he published books on crystals, but I found myself wondering, how much can one possibly say about crystals? I guess I wanted to know more about the New Age ideas he once embraced, and how after his conversion he viewed those ideas. I also felt there were a lot of similar gaps in the Smith book, although a particular strength was his very explicit testimony about what finally brought him out of the New Age, which if I remember correctly was his wife's encounter with the demonic. I have studied spiritual warfare a bit (from a Catholic perspective) and although Smith is not Catholic, his testimony in this regard was 100% accurate. In other words, I could recommend his book to both Protestants and Catholics wanting to learn more about the New Age movement.
I don't question the sincerity of either of these writers or their conversions, but as a reader I felt so many issues were left unexplored in their autobiographical books.
Smith had an online book called "Reinventing Jesus Christ" which I read a few years ago. I thought it was quite excellent, and much more analytical than the autobiography. I would definitely recommend it, and although he is not on the same intellectual plane as Cumbey, I do think he knows his stuff.

ReplyDeleteDid you do any searching on the internet before you came to your views on Baer. From Wikipedia:
"The scientific study of crystals and crystal formation is known as crystallography." Baer's books on crystals were quite complex and used material from the physical study of crystals. I'm not saying that there was any validity to his theories about the link between the study of crystals and alternative health, but to say as you did, "I found myself wondering, how much can one possibly say about crystals" shows little understanding.
Doing a search you might have noted that there was a ten part set of videos on You Tube done by Baer on the New Age movement.
Short of his channeling something from the beyond, there will be no more information from him on the New Age movement as he died in a strange accident before his first book came out. http://www.greaterthings.com/Bookstore/Spirituality/nightmare.htm
Here's another view of Baer in the comments:
http://newagedeception.wordpress.com/2010/05/18/randall-n-baer-inside-the-new-age-nightmare-part-1/
Why am I on the defensive? Because I did read his book, found it valuable and have recommended it to others. His books sold well. He was an insider.
Jumping to such as hasty conclusions as you have makes me question the validity of what you recommend.
Hello Dorothy,
ReplyDeleteMy comments on Baer's books were subjective and not meant to be thorough or authoratative. I found his book valuable albeit flawed. I would have liked Baer's thoughts about crystals even in a summarized form in the book itself rather than having to research it from Wikipedia specifically because he was an insider. I just personally (meaning, this is my opinion only not something I am asserting as a fact) had a lot of questions after reading the book and wish he had gone much deeper into certain things. I felt the book started out with a lot of detail and analysis but then got vague and skimpy just when it should have got the most interesting. Had I been his copyeditor, these gaps would have been addressed and the book been much stronger. Had he lived, perhaps he would have written a more detailed autobiography.
My brief comments above about what I perceived as flaws were not meant to dismiss the book out of hand even though you interpreted them that way, apparently.
I have recommended the book to others and in fact recently lent my copy to a friend.
Thank you for that piece. I wonder if the open door referred to in 'The Rays and the Initiations refers to Constantine or to Jesus Christ Himself.
ReplyDeleteEither way, Alice Bailey's demon always reminds me irresistibly of the Uncle in 'The Screwtape Letters'. There is a certain shuddering fascination in seeing Satan's view of world history. And a corresponding thrill of realizing afresh that 'this is all for real!'
Isn't this an inconvenient truth!!!

Constance, this is a well thought-out summary of what has happened re Anders Brevik, Bat Ye'or, and the Littman friends. The world is still sorting out this mess of philosophy, for the world has no subtlety to understand such complex subjects. Let me just say that I get nauseated reading the words of Alice Bailey. I am terrified to remember that I sat next to David Spangler twice at an "ecumenical" New Age gathering near Seattle. Although my husband and I left the New Age rather violently after that (with ripping and tearing of our social network and many supporting beliefs), I am really scared that I came so
ReplyDeleteclose to believing what they believed. I never did believe it, although I (and we) tried to do so.
I honestly cannot understand why God rescused us (my husband and me) when he did not rescue many others we knew, including close family. My life is just mourning now for them whom we lost.
Mariel
Thank you, Mariel. The last I heard, David Spangler was living in the Seattle area, in Issaquah, as I recall. Whidbey Island was the home of his close friends, Fritz and Vivienne Hull, with their Chinook Learning Community. They had a well stocked New Age bookstore which I checked out whenever I was in the area. The store was in Clinton on Whidbey Island. At one of my talks there, Fritz and Vivienne came with most of their community. A few defected that night to Christianity and consequently, they never came to bother my talks again, even though I was there many times with Angie Schiermeyer who coordinated West Coast speaking engagements.
ReplyDeleteI rejoice that the Lord delivered you and your husband and I suspect he's still working on many of the rest whose hearts are not too hardened.

In response to the comments by Constance, the killer in Norway was obviously unbalanced. His acts were certainly not in accordance with biblical Christianity, see I Corinthians 13. However, his fears concerning the future of his nation of Norway and that of Europe have a basis. It is a fact that Christian minorities in Islamic countries have been/are persecuted and are classed as dhimmmitude or second class citizens. With current population rates, 150 years from now, what we know as Europe will be majority Muslim and under Sharia law. Christians should know that we and that means humanity in total cannot have access to the Father except through the Son, Jesus (Yeshea) the Messiah. Therefore, to think that Muslims do indeed have access to the God of the Bible is to disbelieve what the Author of our Salvation said so clearly. Therefore, to talk about people of the book is meaningless. Muslims are certainly not of the Holy Bible, as they reject Jesus as the Messiah. The Apostle Paul indicated that the Jews have been purposely blinded at this time so Gentiles can have a chance at salvation. But an acceptance of a policy of multiculturalism is to have a death wish, with the implicit and asinine assumption that one man's truth is as good as another as long as he is sincere. Is is a belief that truth is relative depending on your perspective. And this is not what Jesus taught. He said I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father, except through me. And that includes the Muslim, who rejects Jesus (Yeshea) as the Messiah. To reject the historically valid observations of Bat Ye'or because she may have some New Age connections is akin to throwing the baby out with the bath water. If we are to believe what Jesus told Nicodemus regarding the gospel of the Kingdom of God, there is only one way to enter in and that is to be born again. Now, please do not mis-contrue what I am saying. Christians are to love and have good will towards all, but we are exhorted to be as wise as serpents and harmless as doves. In other words, we should have our wits about us. And the Apostle John said that Christians should not have those who reject that His Son came in the flesh into their houses, calling them anti-Christ.
Constance,
ReplyDeleteI, too, want to express appreciation for this article. Well done! - even if I am not well-informed on some of the players mentioned.
I have a totally unrelated question I hope you can answer. With the concept of maya in mind and the understanding that the earth is a living organism according to New Age Gaia worship, why the need to preserve the outer, material shell of the earth? If the material world is all illusion, why bother with the material aspect at all?
I'm somewhat familiar with the the 1st/2nd century Gnostic opposing beliefs as some took a strictly ascetic approach to the body while others a libertine. I'd think those with a mayan, or docetic worldview would adopt the more libertine view along with it.
Constance,
ReplyDeleteBat Ye'or is Bat Ye'or and is not David Littman. Please do her the favor of judging her works (as God will) by their content, not by her husband. For all that you or I know, she and Littman have nightly arguments about these matters.
Muslims are against Judaism and Christianity not because Alice Bailey sought to make them so, or because Bat Ye'or documents the rise of Islamic violence in Europe as its Muslim numbers rise. No, their antagonism comes direct from the qur'an and hadith, which were around for more than a thousand years before Alice Bailey.
Do not suppose that, just because Islam and Judaism are monotheistic, and Jehovah and Allah both claim to have created the world, they are the same god. What if one of them is lying? On the basis of 1 John 4:3, and the qur'an's denial of Jesus' divinity and crucifixion, Christians should indeed suppose that Allah is a counterfeit creator. That puts Islam in a rather different light.
Constance, it's your blog and you are perfectly entitled to write what you wish and stay silent when you wish, but I would love to know whether you agree with this reasoning.
Did anyone catch this "pretty little piece" of dialectic?

All along based on my experience with tea party things I thought there was a social issues component to the movement, that it just wasn't a fiscal issues thing. A friend sent me a message saying tea party stood for taxed enough already and that there were lesbian tea parties, gay tea parties, black tea parties, etc. I looked it up in a websearch and yes, those groups exist. There is a Jewish tea party group on Facebook, but I saw it as just a way of reaching out to other Jews with the information. I saw the tea party movement as an umbrella movement where everyone joined under that label, not as a fractionalized set of groups joining under that label. As far as I know, there are no tea party groups called white christian tea party groups.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone has further information about these changes, please post the information here. Is this infiltration into the tea party movement? Will I be asked to accept a Planned Parenthood tea party group as a group with a valid ideology? Is New Age thinking infiltrating the tea party movement?

ReplyDeleteIf you know how disinformation works, you know that it rests on 75% truth (roughly) and the rest propaganda. As I wrote earlier, Bat Ye'or's writings were ignored at the beginning. As the movement against the Muslims grew, her writings gained more importance.
Protestant Christians have great difficulty turning against other Christians. The same with Catholics and Jews. Should we expect more from the Muslim community? The average Muslim has difficulty turning against his own people with the added problem of turning against Muslims who have been cultured toward violence against any dissidents.
As opposed to Judaism where the mean is to be understood, the Muslim community seems to take protection of values to the extreme. Yet, there are values that are being protected as opposed to occult supporters where values do not exist.
Instead of just looking at the extremes, I think we need to know what are the values of the Muslim community before we go after all of them with a sledge hammer. This, because New Age promoters would destroy those values in favor of their own.
Craig,
ReplyDeleteGnostics and Libertines have a lot in common. They both do not take the human body and it's makings seriously.
One of the reasons why they both are likely to support homosexuality, because for both what we think is more important than who we are.

Savvy,
ReplyDeleteApparently, there are two opposing thoughts regarding the body/morality -- at least in 1st/2nd century Gnosticism. From wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnosticism
...quoting Kurt Rudolph's excellent (from a pro-gnostic perspective [I have the book]):
On the whole, it would seem that Gnostic behaviour tended towards the ascetic. This said, the heresiological accusation of duplicity in such practises should not be taken at face value; nor should similar accusations of amoral libertinism. The Nag Hammadi library itself is full of passages which appear to encourage abstinence over indulgence. Fundamentally, however, gnostic movements appear to take the 'ancient schema of the two ways, which leaves the decision to do what is right to human endeavour and promises a reward for those who make the effort, and punishment for those who are negligent'
Cerinthus, a Docetic, however, reportedly took the libertine view, "throwing off all moral restraints." [NIV Study Bible; intro to 1st John]
This view seems to comport well with AAB's self/not-self [spirit within / material body] as exemplified in this passage from A Treatise on Cosmic Fire:
"His [the Logos aka Destroyer (Abaddon/Apollyon: see Rev 9:11) in this context] is the synthesis of Spirit with Spirit, their eventual abstraction from matter, and their unification with their cosmic source [the ONE WHOM NAUGHT MAY BE SAID]. Hence also He is the one who brings about pralaya or the disintegration of form,--the form from which Spirit has been abstracted."
Constance/Savvy,
ReplyDelete"Coincidentally" in my search at a local used book store I came across a copy of G. de Purucker's Fundamentals of the Esoteric Philosophy -- a book I've been wanting to acquire for a while now -- and inside is a bit on maya. To explain, the author uses an analogy:
...a man at eventide sees a coiled rope on the ground and springs aside thinking it a serpent. The rope is there, the serpent is not.
He explains further:
That is what maya means: not that a thing seen does not exist, but that we are blinded and our mind perverted by our own thoughts and our own perfections, and do not as yet arrive at the real interpretation and meaning of the world, of the universe around us. By ascending inwardly, by rising up, by inner aspiration [ed: gnosis], by an elevation of soul, we can reach upwards or rather inwards toward that plane where truth abides in fullness.
This seems to be like AAB's definition in A Treatise on Cosmic Fire in the footnote at the bottom of page 1095:
The word Maya is one which has to be properly understood by you in order that you may catch the spirit of the ancient philosophy. The derivation that is given for the word is Ma + Ya or not that. Maya is therefore a power that makes a thing appear as what it is not, or a power of illusion that arises out of limitation in the ancient concept of a true unity periodically appearing as multiplicity by the power of Maya that coexists with that unity.
This helps a bit, but I'm still stuck on the following: if the material world is inherently evil and is set for destruction once the Spirit is released from matter, why the "Green" movement?
Paul is correct - lots of interesting comments here. Thanks to all who have taken the time to write them.
ReplyDeleteDear Craig,
ReplyDeleteEverything being a construct of their imagination, who ever said that consistency was the hallmark of New Age beliefs? Hanged if I can figure it all out! Remember, God is NOT the author of confusion. The one they worship, is!

ReplyDeleteBat Ye'or has made it perfectly clear that she and husband David are unified on issues, including the "Progressive Judaism", "World Federalist" and "World Citizen". Rene Wadlow appears to be the very good friend of the both of them -- Littmann and Ye'or. I have this book in front of me, THE MYTH OF ISLAMIC INTOLERANCE. It is, interestingly, published by PROMETHEUS BOOKS (the Atheist publisher!). Rene Wadlow is a contributor to the same book Robert Spencer, the editor, is also the editor of the website JIHADWATCH, also a major source to Rene Wadlow.
ReplyDeleteAnd to think they were blaming this type of propaganda on "Christian conservatives." Can we, er, uh, call ROBERT SPENCER AN ATHEIST EXTREMIST?
CONSTANCE
For the record, my research has shown that in the past when the New Age type teachings (Theosophy, Rosicrucian, etc.) usually got dangerous was when they teamed up with "Freethinkers" or Atheists. That's what happened in Costa Rica in the 1910's to 1920 and that's what happened in Mexico from 1926 to 1935. It is quite fascinating to me to see New Agers and Atheist controlled interests Prometheus Press) and have the violence inspired by their collaboration ascribed to "Conservative Christians."

Re Prometheus Books:
ReplyDeletePrometheus Books is a publishing company founded in August 1969 by Paul Kurtz, who also founded the Council for Secular Humanism and co-founded the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry. He is currently the chairman of all three organizations. Prometheus Books publishes a range of books, including many about science, especially those of a skeptical nature. Their headquarters are located in Amherst, New York, and they publish worldwide. Authors published by Prometheus include Leon Lederman, Martin Gardner, Antony Flew, Nathan Salmon, Ibn Warraq, George H. Smith, Rob Boston, James Randi, Isaac Asimov, Molefi Asante, S. T. Joshi, Philip J. Klass, Julian Huxley, Frederich Nietzsche, David Ricardo, utilitarian Jeremy Bentham, John Maynard Keynes, and Pulitzer Prize-winner Tom Toles.
Prometheus Books obtained the bulk of the books and manuscripts of Humanities Press International[1] and has been building and expanding this into a scholarly imprint named Humanity Books. This imprint is used to publish academic works across a wide spectrum of the humanities.
In 1992 Uri Geller sued Victor J. Stenger and Prometheus Books. The suit was dismissed and Geller was required to pay more than $20,000 in costs to the defendant.[2]
In March 2005, Prometheus Books launched the science fiction and fantasy imprint Pyr.
As of 2006, the company under various imprints has approximately 1,600 books in print and published approximately 95-100 books per year. Since its founding Prometheus Books has published over 2,500 books.
Prometheus Books name was derived from Prometheus, the Titan from Greek mythology who gave fire to man. This act is often used as a metaphor for bringing knowledge.

Q: I've read that you are secretly a Catholic and have a religious agenda.
RS: My being Catholic is no secret; I co-wrote a book called Inside Islam: A Guide for Catholics. But I have no religious agenda. In fact, Jihad Watch covers jihad in all its manifestations, and emphasizes the need for all the actual and potential victims of jihad violence and oppression -- Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, secular Muslims, atheists, whatever -- to join together to defend universal human rights. There are many things about which we all disagree, but at this point we need to unite simply in order to survive. We can sort out our disagreements later.

I'd like to add this information to what Constance has said to make it clearer to others. Prometheus Press is the press for the Humanist movement.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.americanhumanist.org/Who_We_Are/About_Humanism/Humanist_Manifesto_II
The signers of Humanist Manifesto I in 1933 were also very powerful leaders.
The Humanist movement is much bigger than just an atheist movement. Humanist was the philosophy of the Soviet Union. In 1979 when I first learned about Humanism, you couldn't get information about it in the library. All that was there was Humanism in the Renaissance. This in spite of the fact there was a very powerful think tank in Colorado called the Aspen Institute of Humanistic Studies, now just called the Aspen Institute, an international operation. There is a Humanist magazine and you can get information on Humanist organizations in the Encyclopedia of Associations. Although they do not openly show it, there is a link between the Humanist movement and the New Age movement and it has been exposed by researchers.
You have to follow the thread between Littman and Wadlow to Promethus Press to the Humanist movement to New Age.

ReplyDeleteThis is Anon@1.44pm to whom you replied at 9.24pm; thank you.
Bat Ye'or is concerned with the modern rise of militant Islam in Western civilisation. Her books document this rise. Historians have exhaustively documented that Islam has coveted and sought aggressively to win Europe for 13 centuries. Bat Ye'or is simply documenting the latest, very dangerous, phase in this tussle.
You seem to think that her books are not to be trusted because she is married to a New Ager. But she is not her husband, and you don't give a reference for your statement that she is in total agreement with Littman. Would you supply one, please? Second, I am not aware of any false statement in her works about the rise of Islam; if, nevertheless, you believe that she is distorting the truth by leaving out facts uncongenial to her viewpoint, please be aware that her views on today's Islamic challenge to Europe are shared by various non-New-Age secular writers, various protestant writers, and various Roman Catholic writers.
When I asked you for a response - which you were kind enough to give - I meant a response to the argument that, although Islam and Judaism are monotheistic, and Jehovah and Allah both claim to have created the world, they are not the same god. For what if one of them is lying? On the basis of 1John 4:3, and the qur'an's denial of Jesus' divinity and crucifixion, Christians should suppose that Allah is not Jehovah and is a counterfeit creator. That puts Islam in a rather different light.
Our disagreement notwithstanding, I am glad that you are my sister in Jesus Christ.
Constance,
ReplyDeleteBat Ye'or aside, the issue boils down to this: Do you choose the New Testament on the theological relations between Judaeo-Christianity and Islam (ie 1 John 4:3); or do you choose Alice Bailey's writings? There is no reason to let your opponent set your agenda given that the gospel subverts her view.
If Jehovah really is the deity behind the qur'an then why would he deny his own beloved Son in it?
Please find online a work called The Rainbow Swastika by a practising Orthodox Jewess called Hannah Newman, who documents that the New Age is far more hostile to Judaeo-Christianity than to Islam. Other than that, her work is similar to yours.
Anonymous 5:39
ReplyDeleteConstance and I have both known about Hannah Newman's piece for many years now. While it is a good piece, she hasn't done any further research in years. She moved on to other interests. Probably something I should have done also. Chewing on the same fat for 30 years is getting me no place.
To Anonymous 5:15L
ReplyDeleteI am familiar with the Rainbow Swastika book. The author took much of her impetus to do her research from my earlier research and has been from time to time in contact with me. Yes, the Jews have been a greater target, but Moslems also are targets as are Christians. Again, it is not just Bat Ye'or's husband who is the alleged New Ager. They act as a pair. I repeat, my information was from Bat Ye'or's own site, edited presumably by her and both she and hubby are closely allied with Rene Wadlow.

As far as NEWSWITHVIEWS is concerned, their contributors are a "mixed bag" as are most newspapers, tv and radio stations. They do not censor me. I had a vital message to reach to put at least a dimple in the massive and vicious propaganda campaign against "conservative Christians" by those seeking to portray Anders Breivik / Andrew Berwick as same in the light of the Norwegian slayings. I had the choice between 300 to 500 a day reading this blogspot meaning circulation was limited and of also publishing with NewswithViews.com which has a million hits upwards.
ReplyDeleteThere are writers at NWV with whom I have violent disagreements, e.g. Roy Masters, whom I believe is a New Ager himself.
The story on NWV I wrote hit the mainstream news, something never would have happened if confined to my own blogspot.
I do not own a newspaper nor do I have funds to even remotely consider owning one. I do not even have funds to fund my own website. As such, I have to take the space offered me without charge that is most likely to get the information out.
If somebody finds something perfect that will accommodate my work, please let me know. In the meantime, I will have to take advantage of the time offered me on NewswithViews.com and theMicroeffect.com to get my side of the news out.
Otherwise, the other side will have opposing media all to itself and I don't intend for that to happen when I am offered a podium by one who will not require me to compromise my values.

Constance,
ReplyDeleteThe book you refer to as "The Myth of Islamic Intolerance" edited by Robert Spencer is actually called "The Myth of Islamic TOLERANCE".
When you made this slip I believe that you had no sinister agenda whatsoever - I do not call your slip 'Freudian'. Similarly I believe that Bat Ye'or has no sinister agenda. If you are a secular Jew in the post-war era then one particular strategy you can adopt to help the beleaguered State of Israel is to promote anti-racist initiatives at places like the UN, since anti-Zionism is correlated with anti-semitism. I am not particularly impressed by this strategy, but it does not follow that everybody who uses it is pressing for an occult world government. Littman might say what he likes, but I request that you produce *one* quote bearing Bat Ye'or's name that cannot be interpreted as a defence of Israel or of European civilisation, and can *only* be part of the New Age agenda. So far at your usually excellent blog I have read only insinuation.
Whatever Hannah Newman took from you in her book The Rainbow Swastika, she did not get from you her claim that New Age is softer on Islam than on Judaism or Christianity, for you and she simply disagree about that. Yet you work from the same sources (mainly Alice Bailey). If you believe that Newman is wrong about this, how and where, please?
I must say that Newman's view makes excellent sense, since every Christian must suppose on the basis of the qur'an's denial (eg, 4:157) of Jesus Christ's divinity and crucifixion, together with 1 John 4:3, that Allah is a counterfeit creator. Spiritual counterfeiting is also a hallmark of the New Age, and we know who is behind it. The real pincer movement of evil today has as its two arms secular humanism and Islam.
I will change my mind if you can show me without compromising the Old and New Testaments that Allah and Jehovah are the same. As it is, I believe the former is simply lying in his claim to have created the world. Don't you?
Constance

ReplyDeleteTo Anon@3.19pm,
ReplyDelete"Allah" is a concatenation of "Al-illah" which in Arabic means "THE god". ('Illah' is the generic Arabic word for 'god'.) It is true that Arab cradle Christians use the word "Allah" when they are praying to Jehovah. But they understand that they are praying to the God of the Old and New Testaments, which is the point. When Muslims pray to "Allah" they mean the god of the qur'an. It is significant that converts from Islam to Christianity generally avoid the name "Allah".
The Allah of the qur'an is not Jehovah in view of 1 John 4:3 and the quran's denial of Jesus Christ's divinity and crucifixion.
I accept that Muslims sincerely wish to worship their creator. The tragedy - for them, and for their neighbors on whom they make war (as the qur'an commands) - is that they are worshipping a counterfeit.
The sincerity of the desire of Muslims to worship their creator raises the question: will their creator, Jehovah, respond? Today many Muslims get visions of Jesus Christ, crucified, died and resurrected. We live in exciting times.
Constance,
ReplyDeleteYou wrote: "as for Bat Ye'or, let's hear your theory of why she was "innocent" of all knowledge of what the New Age Movement stood for and of Rene Wadlow's involvement in same."
Innocent of *knowledge*? Orwell's Thought Police used phrases like that. Let's evaluate her writings by what they say and the picture they paint.
There are two scenarios: (1) the one I think you believe, that Bat Ye'or is a clandestine New Ager who wants an occult world government, and (2) the one I believe, that she is a secular Jewess in the post-Holocaust era whose strategy to help the beleaguered State of Israel is to promote anti-racist initiatives at places like the UN, since anti-Zionism is correlated with anti-semitism. She is also concerned at the rise of militant Islam in Europe (so am I - I live there) and she documents it very clearly.
Much of Bat Ye'or's writing is consistent with both (1) and (2). To distinguish between them, I am asking you to provide ONE quote bearing Bat Ye'or's name (not her husband's) that cannot be interpreted as a defence of Israel or of European civilisation, and can *only* be part of the New Age agenda. I know of none.
Also, since you are asking me questions, might I ask you to respond to mine: In view of the qur'an's denial (eg, 4:157) of Jesus Christ's divinity and crucifixion, together with 1 John 4:3 ("Every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not of God, and is an antichrist"), do you believe that Allah is Jehovah?
Anon@1.13pm
I don't think there is anything particularly clandestine about Bat Ye'or wanting a world government, especially considering that she had it posted about herself, hubby and Rene Wadlow on her own website.

Constance,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your post of 5.33pm. And the webpage at dhimmitude.org that you say (at 4.40pm) advocates world government?
From a site hyperlinked by the Dhimmitude site:
ReplyDelete"“I am now going to say something that will astonish you. The first step in the creation of the Family of Abraham – or Ibrahim – must be a partnership between Israel, Jordan and the Palestinians within that geographical area designated as ‘Palestine’ in the original 1921 Mandate of the League of Nations. The structure of the “United States of Abraham,” if well and truly built, will be such as to make the material strength of a single State less important. Small nations will count as much as large ones and gain their honour by their contribution to the common cause. The ancient Peoples, Nations and modern States of the Middle East, freely joined together for mutual convenience in a federal – or other – system, might eventually take their individual places within this unifying concept, or condominium. I shall not try to make a detailed programme for tens of millions of peoples who want to be happy and free, prosperous and safe. If this is their wish, if this is the wish of so many peoples living in so many lands – comprising the very cradle of the most ancient civilizations of the Near East – they have only to say so, and means can certainly be found, and machinery erected, to carry that wish to full fruition. Time may be short. At present there is a breathing-space. The cannons have ceased firing. There is a lull in the fighting; but the dangers have not stopped. If there is to be a United States of Abraham – or whatever name it may take – work on this concept must begin now.
“I must now sum up. Under and within the world concept of the United Nations Organisation, one must create the Family of the Middle East in a regional structure called, it may be, the United States of Abraham, and the first practical step would be to form a Council of Abraham. If at first all the Peoples, Nations and States of the Middle East are not willing or able to join the Union, one must nevertheless proceed to assemble and combine those who will and those who can. The salvation of all the peoples in the Middle East from war or servitude must be established on solid foundations. In all this urgent work, Israel, Jordan and the Palestinians must take the lead together. The United Nations Organisation, the Twelve-Member States of the European Community, America and, I trust, Soviet Russia – for then indeed all would be well – must be the sponsors of the new Community and must champion its right to live and shine. Therefore, I say to you: Let Abraham, let Ibrahim arise!
Res ipsa loquitur!

You know that he puts writers on his website who have antisemitic connections, not just one or two who have New Age connections. It's the same with the Microeffect.
ReplyDeleteThere is no difference between you and Bat Ye'or Constance. She uses the people she thinks can get her message out about the dangers of the Muslim community and can make the same rationalizations you use for her connection with the New Age movement. My intention was to draw attention to the article referenced by the other anon who asked if "savvy" was one and the same who posts here -- which happened to be the same one you mentioned -- and I wanted to point out that it's not without flaws.

Savvy took over again after I was kicked off. I started two other threads there on the New Age movement. The one above had 1524 posts, 102 pages. The only interest I got going was from two very nasty individuals who tried to shut me up. The new format over there makes it hard to find former links.
Constance,
ReplyDeletePermit me to explain my confusion. At 5:44pm you gave an extended quote from an essay about the "United States of Abraham" and said that it was "hyperlinked by the Dhimmitude site". This phrase would normally mean that there is a hyperlink ON the Dhimmitude website TO this essay; and, since the Dhimmitude website is Bat Ye'or and her husband's, I take your words to mean that the essay is published on a different website that is not theirs - implying that the essay is not (co-)written by Bat Ye'or.
Have I misunderstood you?
Separately, let me add that if you are against the Alice Bailey agenda of "setting the three monotheistic religions against each other" then you should be in favour of a United States of Abraham. Are your writings consistent with each other? Is Allah Jehovah?
Yes, I did start that thread after reading Hannah Newman's work's. It rang with much of my experience with the New Age movement and the hold it was taking on our culture and religions.
ReplyDeleteThe New Age claims to hold to no objective truths, and insists that religions get rid of their theological distinctions, to unite under the banner of the tolerance, peace etc.
The New Age Messiah is supposed to be different things to different people. The Messiah to the Jews, Jesus to the Christians, Madhi to the Muslims etc.
Benjamin Creme said a long time ago that it would be the Jews and Christians that would have a harder time accepting this, than the others.
Not sure about the Muslims.
Savvy
That being said, as a Christian I do not see the point in fighting with everybody on the planet. We should be bringers of peace wherever we go, to the extend that it converts even our enemies.

I think you know it too. I believe your express mission here is to obfuscate and create false dichotomies.

From Dhimmitude.org
ReplyDeleteSince 1986, Littman has prepared more than 300 NGO oral and written statements – the latter prepared as UN documents for the UNCHR and its Sub-Commission – dealing with a wide area of human rights issues:
– Refuseniks, listing many by name, later released; and Andrei Sakharov (IHT Jan. 23, 1990).
– UN Resolution 3379 (1975) equating Zionism with racism, which he constantly denounced, and particularly: "Moscow as the fountain-head of an Antisemitic International".
– Apartheid, especially 4 messages (1989-91) read for Helen Suzman, South African M.P.
– Saddam Hussein's gassing of Kurds at Halabja, Iraq (1988 – not then on the CHR agenda).
– Burundi massacres (25,000) in August 1988. Only Littman and Ewa Nchama condemned it at the Sub-Commission, whose members considered it as "a current matter", outside their competence.
– Bombardment of Beirut by Syria (1989), condemned by a joint NGO 'Appeal'.
– Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini's February 14, 1989 Salman Rushdie fatwa: he condemned it the next day, then twice again; only three Western ambassadors spoke (UK, France, USA). In a letter published in the IHT (March 21, 1989) he repeated his conclusion: "Silence, here and now, would make of us all the accomplices of terrorism and tyranny."
– Jews and Christians "dhimmis" in Muslim lands, and the plight of Christians today.
– 900,000 Jewish refugees and those obliged to leave Arab countries since 1948 – 75% found refuge in Israel.
– Syrian Jewish 'Spinsters of State Policy' (IHT, April 6, 1990) who were subsequently freed.
– Western hostages in Lebanon (1986-89), including nine local Jews, all assassinated.
– PLO refusal from 1947-1988 to accept 'international legality,' preferring terrorism.
– 1988 Hamas Charter; since Feb. 1989 he called it: "a blatant blueprint for genocide."
– Ethiopian Jews: direct contacts with senior delegate to free Jews in jail and for them to leave (1988-89).
– Religious intolerance and freedom of opinion in general – and some individual cases.
– Appeal for a 'United States of Abraham' in a democratic Middle East (March 6, 1990). It was later published by the Jerusalem Arab weekly Al-Fajr (December 24, 1990) and La Tribune de Genève January 26-27, 1991.
– NGO statements and an article (with Wadlow): "A Time for Every Purpose under Heaven: The Peace Process and New Forms of Regional Integration" (Al Fajr, May 31, 1993).
. . . Aside from his close collaboration with René Wadlow, from 1994 he aided CSI at the UN on slavery issues (Sudan). This collaboration with Rev. Hans Stückelberger (president) and John Eibner (director of CSI's campaign for freeing Christian and other slaves in Southern Sudan), led to his accreditation as CSI representative to the UN in 1999, when he introduced Dr. John Garang – SPLM leader of the Christians in Southern Sudan – to HCHR Mary Robinson. At the UN press conference, Garang spoke on the human tragedy of the population in Southern Sudan, victims of Jihad-war and slavery; He was stopped by Sudan on a procedural 'point of order' as he began to speak; – CSI lost its UN accreditation six months later.
From 2004 he worked closely on projects, especially NGO Conferences at the Commission, with Roy Brown, president and main representative of IHEU – in tandem with René Wadlow. Personal attacks were often made against Littman – never refutations of facts – by delegates of the USSR, Syria, Iraq, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, Cuba, and some of the Sub-Commission's 'experts'

ReplyDeleteMine of 1:04pm explained in good faith that I was confused and why. You have replied at 5:43pm: "I think your aim here is to create confusion at looking at what is perfectly obvious."
I explained why it wasn't obvious to me. You claim to know what is going on inside my mind, and impute wrong motives to me. You do the same with Bat Ye'or. I don't want to debate this with you any more. Only I and God know the inside of my head.
You could have settled all of this by giving the actual address of a webpage (ie, http://www....) for which Bat Ye'or is responsible and which advocates one-worldism. I repeatedly asked you to do that. Yours of 5:51pm quoting the Dhimmitude website is a list of what Littman has done, not Ye'or.

Hi Constance,
ReplyDeleteI used "The Aquarian Conspiracy" as my textbook when I taught PH103: Problems in Philosophy, as per instructions from the Roman Catholic Barry U. in south FL in 1985. I phoned Marilyn Ferguson while preparing the syllabus for the class and she told me that almost the entire book was truly the work of Willis Harman: Marilyn was simply the writer. Harman had been a key social engineer at the renowned and DARPA-funded Stanford Research Institute (SRI).
Mr. Harman later phoned me and we had about an hour's conversation where he explained the entire "new age" holistic agenda that SRI and the Institute of Noetic Sciences were involved in. So, the point is, that the people you want to focus on are Harman and the people at SRI and the Institute of Noetic Sciences, such as former astronaut Edgar Mitchell. Ferguson herself is only instrumental, not authoritative or original at all.

Dear Rob Argento:
ReplyDeleteI had also understood that Willis Harman was a major source for Marilyn Ferguson's book. Even more disturbing to me was that Fellowship Foundation / Doug Coe benefactor Paul N. Temple, co-founder and chief financial pillar of the Institute of Noetic Sciences was the source of Willis Harman's paychecks for several years. This is one of the reasons why I caught the flak I did from so much of the Evangelical community for years. I have some articles up both at Newswithviews.com and at this blogspot on "The Hijacking of Evangelicalism" which tells much of the story. Thanks for your most interesting input!

Anon 7:43 PM:
ReplyDeleteCalm down. You are clearly and obviously missing my entire point. (No one in their right mind would ever 'equate' the two.)
I'm just saying that this COULD possibly 'open a door' to take this even further (in a legal battle)...in going after other fundamentalist groups.
After all, we know that the NWO's agenda is to ultimately bring down all traditional 'old age' religions (Protestant, Catholic, Jew) and create a new One World Religion.
I believe I’ve found at least part of the answer to the question I posed earlier re: the point of saving “Mother Earth” given that it’s the immanent spirit within the earth which will be eventually redeemed from the “evil” matter of the earth’s surface (as in dualism between spirit and matter a la Gnosticism) and enjoined to the collective spirit of the homo universalis. There are three criteria outlined on pp 148-49 in AAB’s A Treatise on Cosmic Fire:
ReplyDelete1) “His goal is the synthesis of the Spirits who are gaining consciousness through manifestation, and who, by means of experience in matter, are gaining in quality.”
This makes sense since the “divine spark” or “Christ within” still needs to “evolve” further or, become more “soul-controlled,” prior to eventually becoming homo universalis. And, my understanding is that, like in 2nd century Gnosticism and Kabbalah, it’s humanity which must liberate the rest of matter (including Gaia and the other kingdoms in nature) after liberating itself first.
2) “His function is, by means of will, to hold them in manifestation for the desired period, and later to abstract them, and blend them again with their spiritual source…”
3) “His mode of action is a driving forward; the will that lies back of evolutionary development is His, and He it is who drives Spirit onward through matter till it eventually emerges from matter…”
This happens, of course, after the “hundredth monkey” has made it.
Basically, from the perspective of New Age Neo-Gnosticism, I see it as a pragmatic approach. The “evil” matter is needed since it harbors the inner “divine spark” or “Christ within” and apparently protects it in some way until it’s ready for liberation from the “shell” as it’s called in Lurianic Kabbalah. As Max Lucado (yes, Max Lucado), in his book Cure for the Common Life quotes Martin Buber’s The Way of Man, According to the Teaching of Hasidism in an endnote:
“The world is an irradiation of God, but as it is endowed with an independence of existence and striving, it is apt, always and everywhere, to form a crust around itself. Thus, a divine spark lives in every thing and being, but each such spark is enclosed by an isolating shell. Only man can liberate it in a holy manner, that is, so that his intention in doing so remains directed towards God’s transcendence. Thus the divine immanence emerges from the exile of the ‘shells.’” [emphasis in original]

I consider that worship of the State as in America the government is our god. The government owns us, controls us, insists on knowing everything we do and requires our sacrifices of large sums of money and time and even our lives. The Pledge of Allegiance was the work of a Socialist, cousin of the man who wrote the Socialist Utopian novel LOOKING BACKWARD. Why have children been reciting this pledge for over a century anyway?
ReplyDeleteTo those calling me a liar for confirming what Constance has said on this blog regarding her belief that the Muslims worship the same God as Christians- perhaps you will look in the archives on here from, I believe, between last summer and winter. There was a protracted discussion regarding this very topic and see that I am in fact NOT lying! Your reaction in accusing me of being of Satan and calling me a liar is the evil here, not me telling the truth. Of course, if Constance would be honest she would tell you the same thing without you having to look up her words on it and then perhaps you would offer an apology for your false accusations and name calling against me.
ReplyDeleteConstance- you know I am telling the truth, so why not simply tell them so my brothers and sisters in Christ aren't misled by your current silence on the matter. Or do I have to search for the comments myself and post the links in this thread for you to tell the truth?

Andrew- I'm presenting the evidence. Now, I expect an apology brother:
ReplyDeleteConstance posted:
"There may be evidence out there to the contrary, but so far, I have not seen really convincing evidence that "Allah" is not God."
"A MISREPRESENTATION of God does not necessarily in and of itself imply they are worshiping a DIFFERENT God -- they may be however, worshiping something created in their own image."
So Cumbey in all of her research has never seen any evidence that would make her think Allah is not the same God we Christians worship? How odd.
And worshipping a misrepresentation of God, or a God made in our own image does not mean someone isn't worshipping the true God? Then why expose the spiritual lies of Hinduism, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, etc.? After all, it is just a misrepresentation of God and they are worshipping the same God as real Christians.

To anonymous @ 10:38, it appears I was horribly wrong. I sincerely apoloigize for my unduly swift and irrationally harsh accusations. ReplyDeleteNo surprise for the millions of unemployed jobseekers. Both political parties have been working together for decades now to destroy the American middle class. And they have succeeded in turning the financially secure retired and/or working against those who wish to but are not. How many Christians have you heard refer to unemployed as lazy, unambitious leeches? This is commonplace among the Christians I know. The problem is not secularization of our institutions. It's Christians who claim to care about other people but do so in name only. The illusion of moral superiority and control is alive and well. Divide and conquer.
There but for the grace of God go I.
Wake up people and start looking around at your friends, neighbors, etc. Listen to the words of Jesus. "I will pray for you" is not enough.
Employed Christian who cares about his neighbor.
For those looking for scriptural support for what I right above about responsibility to your neighbor:
ReplyDeleteMark 20:30-31
Too many people interpret this as "keep people in your prayers and then forget about them and get on enjoying your life. After all, you aren't responsible for them"
We are actually called as Christians to be apart from the world, but you would not know that looking at the lives of many of those who profess Christ.
I did not "accuse" her falsely, as her own words make very clear. In fact, it wasn't an accusation at all as much as it was a statement of demonstrable fact! And certainly if I had changed her words or lied she would have corrected me by now as she is quite quick to do so as I've noticed. Rather she avoided answering the individual who kept asking about the subject repeatedly, in typical attorney-like avoidance. I suspect because she saw how poorly her "ecumenical" and New Age position was received the last time she addressed the subject.
ReplyDeleteI don't really expect sycophants to pay close attention to what Cumbey has said on every subject, but to deny the facts is just shirking responsibility for the full truth of the Gospel. So if it assuages your guilt to call me names or claim I am an "Alice Bailey" follower or what have you, then have at it. Jesus knows I'm right and my Savior knows me intimately. That is all that really matters.
I too am weary of Christians who don't think they should be their brother's keeper, and thus vote for cutting support to the elderly, poor, and disabled.
ReplyDeleteSo we are in a bind. We can't vote for those now deconstructing America. We can't vote for the holier-than-thou Right Wing "Christians". We can't vote for anyone. But if we don't vote we leave it to the factions who do vote, Right or Left.
We are at a point in America where we simply do not understand what's happening. The average bear is not an economist, and he sits in front of his TV listening to the "economists" explain all the many things we did to land in this hole. And eventually the average bear turns it all off and reaches for a beer, if he can still afford one, and watches an idiot
Reality Show, just as the elites have programmed him to do.
So, Lord Jesus, about time to show up? You know best, we don't know much at all.

"Likewise, the European Union, though currently gripped in the throes of economic upheaval, is still moving forward to solidify its role in the final days of this Age. In fact, on July 1, 2011, a major milestone was quietly passed in the evolution of that body.
Remember Daniel's interpretation of King Nebuchadnezzar's dream of an image constructed of various metals? Remember his description of the final kingdom consisting of "ten kings?" Remember hearing that this could not be the EU because it has 27 members? Well, on July 1, the EU formally invested certain critical powers always reserved to the core group known as the "Western European Union," in a new 'Permanent Council.' By its own choice and in its own official documents, that group is hereinafter to be known as "The Ten."
Eerily familiar, isn't it?"

ReplyDeleteMariel,
I am frequently amazed at how some of the deepest subjects imaginable are discussed on this blog by those who profess Christ but how little genuine Christian love actually exists here. Those who have posted about health problems or other personal hardships are pretty much ignored. I used to post here regularly (now I only lurk for the most part) but I have often wondered how you (who has faced so much hardship with your husband's death, financial struggles, lack of support from family and friends) and others who have alluded to similar difficulties are faring. Way back when I did try to reach out to people with follow-up questions but I gave up. A lot of people who were struggling left this blog. This is blamed on the denominational infighting, but I often wonder if the coldness became too much for them.
Do you sometimes wonder if many who profess Christ have failed to grasp the most basic part of the Gospel except on an intellectual level?
I'd better stop this trivial post now and get on to things that are of REAL importance to Christians such as gay marriage, Catherine Ashton, and the Book of Revelation. Individual suffering of near-strangers is nothing in comparison to those far more crucial subjects. Speculating about those things on an intellectual level is how we best serve Christ Jesus, really it is. If you disagree you must not have Faith.
May the Peace of Jesus Christ be with you. May he bring kindness and Christian love into your daily life.
