SARAH LESLIE WILL HOST MY PERSPECTIVE TONIGHT
Sarah Leslie, the editor of CONSCIENCE MAGAZINE and HERESCOPE blogspot will be featured on MY PERSPECTIVE tonight. She has important information to deliver and she will have the hour to herself from 8 pm Eastern time, 7 p.m. Central Time, 6 p.m. Mountain Time, and 5:00 p.m. Eastern time to talk to our listeners. Sarah Leslie and I have worked together since the early 1990s. She is always timely and relevant and I urge you to join her both by listening live at www.themicroeffect.com and in the chatroom by clicking on the chatroom box at that site. Much is happening and Sarah is one of those helping us to stay tuned!
I hope all went well with program tonight and that Sarah had an excellent audience.

Constance,
ReplyDeleteVERY IMPORTANT!
Holly Pivic posted a link about the Rabbis and Imams meeting together at the Unesco meeting. Consistent with the theme I've been trying to discuss which is mysticism, Jewish, Muslim, and otherwise, I found this:
http://www.imamsrabbis.org/en/publications/detail/1/10/19
http://tiny.cc/3yMAF
The Elijah Interfaith Institute is listed on Heinrich Eliyahu Benedikt's Jerusalem Academy website:
Here is their site:
http://www.elijah.org.il/
I hope you don't let the noise on the blog keep you from looking at this important connection.. It is more or less proving my theory..
You can see for yourself on Benedikt's site:

The Kabbalah link is very important if you go back and read some of my recent posts..

Hi Constance, Missed you today but Sarah did a fantastic job as always. I was sorry I had to leave early and missed some of the program. Herescope has another excellent article up this week. It is a critical essay of William Paul Young's book "The Shack" written by another of your recent guests, Pastor Jeffrey Wittaker.

Thanks Joyce,
ReplyDeleteDon't know if you got to check Johnny's "51 Reasons To Say No To Global Governance" this past week,
but his Sunday, December 14, 2008
postings are directly related to all the material we were looking at last spring about the Jerusalem Academy. The Peace Proposal. The info Johnny links to is connected because of the participation of Rabbi David Rosen. I'm sure you recall he, along with Ervin Lazslo and many other well known names are on the Jerusalem Academy board. Anyone wanting to re-read some of the material and check the links we were discussing last May can find it in Constance's Saturday,
May 10, 2008 archive. Constance links to Johnny's blog on the front page here. -Rudi

Rudy,
ReplyDeleteMy boss just gave everyone in the office a copy of "The Shack" for Christmas. Thanks for the heads
up
I discovered Constance and this blog this past summer. I had just finished reading Hidden Dangers when I finally relented and read The Shack. (I decided I needed to read it if I was to have credibility with those who were recommending it.) I nearly jumped out of my skin when I read the chapter "Festival of Friends". I felt I was re-reading Constance's discussion of Dr. Rodney Romney.
ReplyDeleteShe quotes Romney on pages 177-78 of her book: "So God has made light as spiritual energy and from that light created all things. We, therefore are not made of impenetrable matter—we are made of light energy. This primal force of light energy is what we call God. When the Bible says we are made in God’s image, it means that we are constructed of the very energy force which is God. When we establish a connection with God, we receive an increase flow of this energy...
When people advance into the higher realms of consciousness, they often perceive this light through the spiritual sense, sometimes diffused into brilliant colors that go beyond any shades and hues ever seen before, just as they will often distinguish sounds that normally the human ear cannot register…”
Quotes from The Shack, pg. 215:
Little bursts of fire and light, like a stadium of slow popping flashbulbs, ignited when the children would giggle or whisper…” p. 215
“Suddenly, Mack’s attention was caught by an unusual motion. It appeared that one of the light beings in the outer circle was having some difficulty. Flashes and spears of violet and ivory would arch briefly into the night in their direction. As these retreated they were replaced by orchid, gold and flaming vermilion, burning and brilliant sprays of radiance that burst out again toward them…” p. 215
The remainder of the chapter continues to describe activity in terms of light and color, father and son forgiving each other through light energy encounters, song and dancing.
When I showed the quote comparisons to my son (who has not read The Shack) he just said, "Wow!"

Rudi,
ReplyDeleteI haven't looked at the blog 51 reasons to say no to global gov't , but I know Rabbi David Rosen is linked to everyone, including Tony Blair's Interfaith Foundation. Thanks for the head's up. I will take a look.

Christians who promote The Shack are willing to suspend the more obvious theological problems by stating, “It’s just fiction.” God tells us clearly that in the last days, there will be strong delusion to deceive even the very elect if it were possible. If we hide God’s word in our hearts, believe it and live it we cannot sin against Him. God also tells us that the spirit of anti-christ will be increasingly more active. We know that Satan is a liar and the father of lies. How will his lies deceive so many?
ReplyDeleteOne way is through the narrative process of “story”. Please understand that I am not arguing against using “story” to convey a message. Even Jesus used parables. But let’s look at how story form is used today and consider how the spirit of anti-christ can make use of it to deceive. The use of story is a powerful tool. In fact, there are books, businesses, and conferences to attest its growing influence.
Tom Atlee, founder of Co-Intelligence Institute, has mastered this understanding of story as a powerful strategy to change human behavior. He describes the purpose of CII, “We research, network, advocate, and help organize leading-edge experiments and conversations in order to weave what is possible into new, wiser forms of civilization.” He does this through the use of story. The website www.co-intelligence.org states, “Story, as a pattern, is a powerful way of organizing and sharing individual experience and exploring and co-creating shared realites. [sic] […] A story field paints a particular picture of how life is or should be, and shapes the life within its range into its image. […] Once the story field is changed, subsidiary patterns tend to realign rapidly. (This process is part of what has been called a paradigm shift.)”
Atlee teaches that by using our collective intelligence (becoming one in a higher order of collective consciousness) we can evolve to higher forms of civilization. (Emphasis added)
One well known sociological manipulation is called “cognitive dissonance.” When one is presented with two contradictory ideas, he will have “a motivational drive to reduce dissonance by changing their attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors” (Wikipedia http://tiny.cc/ZIODf ) Author William P. Young created a powerful cognitive dissonance when he set his story around the theme of child abduction and abuse. He pulls the reader into a “Great Sadness”—one with which thousands of readers can identify in their own personal lives. The reader now readily suspends all Biblical judgment, and easily accepts Young’s version of “truth”. While some biblical vocabulary and concepts are lightly strewn throughout the story, the average reader will not stop in the middle of an engaging story to check the Biblical context or consider any theological implication. Instead he will absorb the new theology (note the description on the book jacket “The Shack will change the way you think about God forever.”—Kathy Lee Gifford) Story field theory and cognitive manipulations are accomplishing their goal.

ReplyDeleteHow long are you going to allow the Jew bashing to continue on this blog? Even if I wasn't here, you shouldn't allow it. Taking a moral stand when it is difficult is what we are called to do, though it is not as difficult as it would have been if you were in Nazi Germany. You know the New Age movement is growing. You know it will continue to target Christians and Jews and that the first attack is strongest on the Jews because they are the smaller group. I'm sure you don't keep track of how antisemitism is growing though it is not reported in the major media, but it is there.
I beg you to take a stand so that you will set an example for others as the attacks grow fiercer.
Dorothy
Thanks so much for the heads up about The Shack, friends have been talking about it.
ReplyDeleteDouginMI - Is it just the use of DNA or the storage (identity) and patenting as well? Seems they've been trying to work on those aspects as well.
Has anyone seen the video: Psychiatry: An Industry of Death? www.cchr.org
It's about the psychotropic drug industry. We are, here in the US, some of the most medicated creatures (we even prescribe our pets) on the planet. My own kids had to take the Teen Screen test in school (without parental knowledge or consent). Praise God they tested "ok". An 11 year old took it and ended up (they took her right from school) doped-up in a mental institution for 6 months. Her parents didn't even know which facility they had her in. There is some real scary information in this video and the push to MANDATE psychiatric testing and medication.
By industry standards, using their tests, with the normal events in life, 50% of the entire population could be labeled mentally ill.
Many of the drugs, like Paxil, often cause people to commit suicide. One young woman went to school one day, they had her take the (10 minute) Teen Screen test, diagnosed her with a couple of mental illnesses, prescribed Paxil and her family found her hanging in the hallway 11 days later.
With mandated psychiatric testing and the law HR 2640, commonly called The Veteran's Disarmament Act, prohibiting gun ownership by those with mental illness they could effect a very significant portion of the population in more ways than one.
http://www.newswithviews.com
/Pratt/larry81.htm
http://www.gunowners.org
/a010808.htm
Interresting coincidence, it was a year ago today congress passed it.
What do you get when you get a massive amount of the population on drugs and feed them all kinds of messages in every format and vehicle available? It's hard to find a TV show, movie, or book these days that DOESN'T have New Age in it. Throw in the ever evolving technologies and it's the perfect recipe for complete deception.
There's some references to Pharmakia in the Greek scriptures. Although it is often taken as sorcery, it could just as accurately apply to real drugs. Gal 5:20, Rev 21:8.
This site www.cchr.org offers the video (a kit) for free (mine I ordered ended up missing in the mail) but I'm hoping to get another.

Susette (11:16 AM):
ReplyDeleteIt's not just anti-psychotic drugs either. Most of us have been paying close attention to all of those TV commercials listing all those possible side effects of certain prescription drugs (like "death" etc.).
Of course, SOME drugs are necessary (for heart, blood pressure, etc.) - but some of our minor illnesses can be cured by proper diet, exercise, etc.
And when the list of side effects is longer than your symptoms? Huge red flag!!!
The pharmaceutical industry is a multi-billion (trillion?) dollar industry. Sometimes, I believe their goal is to have every man, woman, child, dog and cat in America take a half a dozen prescription medications per day!!!
And the doctors must get kick-backs. I have personally done my own research on drugs fighting cholesterol ("possible permanent kidney damage") and have argued with my doctor endlessly (since my test "numbers" are only borderline - slightly elevaated). Doctors are shameless pushing more and more prescriptions on us.
Ultimately, I tell him, "Listen, with all due respect, you went to Medical School and I didn't, but this is my body and my decision NOT to take this particular drug" (and then I give him the reasons why and what I have researched).
We all HAVE to stand up for ourselves. No one else will do it for us!!!
Constance:
ReplyDeleteMay we please have a new ground rule on this blog:
Stop proselytizing!!!

ReplyDeleteI checked out the Rabbis and Imams for peace site. Incredible. It's actually so sad because it would be great to have peace but we know what that is really an indication of. It's hard to hope for continual war between them, that's not kind in any way, and yet, peace between these historical enemies can only mean we are closer to the NAM and NWO and the false Messiah / antiChrist. What a predicament! Christians are kind of a common third party in this. But we are considered almost anything but neutral. Incredible to think Jesus message and salvation could have brought these two arch enemies together in true peace, and yet was rejected by both (accept for those that converted). I would suspect this is why the false Messiah / antiChrist will be working toward this goal. The great imitator at work...
I do see the connection of mysticism running throughout these movements. I struggle with the distinction between the miraculous, supernatural power of Yahweh God and the powers of the dark spiritual side. This is the line that the New Age is attempting to blur. And a line that all of us have to be very careful not to cross, this is one of my perpetual questions, "Is this from God, man or satan?".
SUZETTE
ReplyDeleteIf you want to know the power of an organization, look at the list of participants and their titles, check the links to other organizations. See what they have accomplished. The meeting you are concerned about fails all of these tests. It's like a letterhead or website operation. It may be a seed operation, but nothing more.
In addition there are huge numbers of rabbis in the world, some of them very liberal. There is no Jewish pyramid system where any organizations can control what all of the rabbis will do. Rabbis, particularly in the Orthodox community are a very independent lot and no one directs them to go away from Torah.
Dorothy
SUZETTE
ReplyDeleteI should add that many of these meeting are attended by people who are charged with finding out what is going on in the political world for their organizations. They won't be the speakers, but they will be in the audience. It doesn't mean they support the cause.
Dorothy
Suzette,
ReplyDeleteWe know the only true peace will be when the Prince of Peace, Yeshua the Messiah will come and reign. Until that time any peace plan to try to unite the religions will be the false peace.. As Paul said:
1Th. 5:3-4 While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief;
We know what to expect, so all of these events have been prophesied and when we see them upon us we can really take heart, because we know the truth. It should seem obvious that trying to unite the religions in some kind of humanistic unity or even worse, false spiritual unity will eventually fail.
That's why I get a little frustrated with the expression that we have to "respect one another's religions". Most people will do that on the surface when deep down in their hearts, they are not in agreement. When we say what we believe out loud, then we are accused of being intolerant.
Perhaps the so-called "intolerant ones" are just being a little more honest?
One thing I know from first hand experience, without real forgiveness it is impossible to be truly reconciled first and foremost to God, and secondly to one another. Without Yeshua, all these peace plans are doomed to failure.
I wish I could buy puts ( stock options) against the Unesco version of peace.. I would be a multi-millionaire... Then again, I am already a rich in Yeshua!..
Blessings,
Joyce
p.s. I will have more coming on the subject of mysticism, Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Eastern etc. Right now I am getting ready for Shabbat...
By the way, Suzette, be sure to check out the Jerusalem Academy link.. They are quite well connected and the link I sent you is connected to them. Hommes de Parole. You might not be able to open it off the Jerusalem Academy site, but if you put it in Google you can. Alse the Elijah Interfaith link is also associated with Jerusalem Academy and seems to have a lot of similar interests.
ReplyDeleteSometimes the connections are not obvious at first...but if you look hard enough, you'll see them.

ReplyDeleteSomeone told me to check out Joyce's Dec. 2 messages. Maybe I missed some but, from what I saw I agree with much what she wrote; especially on Israel.
I also checked the interfaith site. It does not say who the rabbis are other than a link to someone who was chief rabbi of France 20 years ago.
But the description turned me off. It talks about the myth of wopnderful Jewish/Muslim relations based on the isolated "golden age" model and says Jews were happy in Muslim lands with their dhimmi status.
This looks like it was written by Muslims because it is largely fictitious. Jewish suffering under Muslim rulle was generally at least as bad, if not worse, than under Christian rule. No time for details now but believe it.
Successful Jewish/Muslim dialogue has occasionally occurred in the religion area but rarely in the political one.
Happy Sabbath everyone; whichever one you observe.

Perhaps the push for psychiatric tests for gun ownership is to prevent another Virginia Tech type incident. Does this go too far, perhaps it could lead to that.
ReplyDeleteBilderberg luminary Henry Kissinger has repeated his routine call for a new international political order, stating that global crises should be seen as an opportunity to move toward a borderless world where national interests are outweighed by global necessities.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking with Charlie Rose earlier this week, Kissinger cited the chaos being wrought across the globe by the financial crisis and the spread of terrorism as an opportunity to bolster a new global order.
“I think that when the new administration assess the position in which it finds itself it will see a huge crisis and terrible problems, but I can see that it could see a glimmer in which it could construct an international system out of it.” Kissinger said, referring to the transition between the Bush and Obama administrations.
The former National Security advisor and Secretary of State compared the current world climate to the period immediately following the second world war, which led to the creation and empowerment of global bodies such as the UN and NATO.

ReplyDelete6:39,
Here's something else Dr. Kissinger plans to involve himself in.
http://tinyurl.com/4rryaq
It appears he's in the planning stages of being instrumental in a new US-Russia missile accord in 2009-2010.
Via the research here (and all of our own), we all know that EU treaties are set to be renewed or "refurbished" in 2010. Also, that the NA considered 2010 a pivotal year.
Just a note to alert folks to the "Climate Change and Security: Recommendations of the High Representative on the follow-up to the High Representative and Commission Report on Climate Change and International Security" document on JS' website.
ReplyDeleteI take it the EU will use climate change effecting its own security as a further excuse to make its assiciates dance to the EU tune.
"5. Conclusion
As the joint High Representative and Commission report on Climate Change and International
Security emphasised, the security implications of climate change are potentially vast. Our
response needs to combine global actions with detailed understanding of the consequences at
a local level. Knowledge and awareness will both be key.
We also have to promote our messages effectively, both externally and internally. To ensure
better information flow, more coordination and greater coherence between initiatives at EU
and Member State level, the Council Secretariat and Commission should set up a Brussels
based network of focal points in national delegations. A central webpage to exchange analysis
will be available shortly with the support of the JRC. At the same time, Council Secretariat
and Commission should ensure effective co-ordination of public diplomacy efforts.
Progress on the issue of climate change and security as well as implementation of these
recommendations should be reviewed by the Council in the second half of 2009."
A new report by the U.S. Army War College talks about the possibility of Pentagon resources and troops being used should the economic crisis lead to civil unrest.

I urge all on this board to refrain from JESUS BASHING, JEW BASHING, and CONVERT BASHING. I will confess that I am troubled to read that no true Jew could believe in Jesus. I have known cradle Jews who do believe in Jesus. I would remind all that Hitler looked at people's birth certificates and not their baptismal ones. Composer Felix Mendelssohn's family was of Jewish origin, but were practicing Christians. That did not exempt Mendelssohn's work from Hitler's scorn!

This article is a little dated, but gives some information on the history of Kabbalah:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.enlightened-spirituality.org/Kabbalah_and_Hasidism.html
http://tinyurl.com/7ougxj
The blogger started out as a Catholic and got into mystical spirituality, traveled to the east like so many who go this route:
http://www.enlightened-spirituality.org/Timothy_Conway.html
http://tinyurl.com/6q8pqs
and here is the article about the Rebbe Scheerson, the Lubavitcher..
http://tinyurl.com/6ugylm
The whole site is kind of interesting, but I want to focus your attention to what he says on this link. He mentions Ken Wilbur, whom I believe some of you are familiar with.
http://tinyurl.com/9g4dbb
Now this is what I would call antisemitism...the Alice Bailey variety:
A quote from Tim Conway Phd:
"Yet these Western mainstream religions are flawed by the fact that their theologies as presented by non-mystical religious leaders too often tend to be rooted on a merely mythic level that accords neither with the depths of formless mystical experience (see my earlier discussion in this book of Robert Forman’s “the Pure Consciousness Event”) nor with current scientific knowledge of the cosmos and the history of life and homo sapiens on this planet. These religions suffer from a tendency to anthropomorphize the Deity, who then sometimes appears only too human and not very transcendent in “His” jealousy, wrath, and partiality to a chosen people."
"Though I align with the Traditionalist camp of the Perennial Wisdom, like the mystics in whose footsteps I endeavor to follow, I also tend to be a pragmatist. My attitude: whatever truly works or gets results in wholeness/ holiness, then use it."
But this is the quote that by far illustrates what I am seeing out there in all of the ecumenic organizations:
"Yet, behind the diversity of religions I, along with the Perennialists and Traditionalists, sense a unity at their deepest levels of expression. I base this conclusion on meetings with the most highly acclaimed and truly exceptional holy people around the world and upon my own experience as a participant-observer and a trainee within several major sacred traditions. I am utterly convinced that, beyond the significantly differing languages, theologies, faith-claims, dogmas, myths, rituals, institutions and cultural expressions of the outer, exoteric aspect of religions, there is indeed an inner, esoteric “perennial wisdom” of quite similar spirituality—though expressed in differing spiritual temperaments—to be found at the core of the world’s sacred traditions. That is, in the lives of the most illustrious mystics."
There will be more coming on how mysticism be Kabbalah, Sufism, Christian and Eastern Mysticism is the glue that will created "Mystery Babylon".
The mystical esoteric element is a critical element in the coming New World Religion. Kabbalah, Sufism, Christian Mysticism and Eastern Mysticism will neatly come together because they all come from the same source: the snake in the Garden.

I'm glad the info on The Shack was helpful for some of our anonymous commenters.
ReplyDeleteYesNaSpanishTown, Thank you for the write-up about
Co-Intelligence Institute/Tom Atlee.
Also your additional insight about The Shack.
Welcome Suzette, and thanks for getting an interesting discussion going re:Pharmakia. There is a huge potential for abuse and way too many kids are are being over-medicated and placed on drugs that haven't been properly evaluated for use in children.
Interesting link Doug- There is alot we don't know about HAARP huh?
Someone else has commented recently
about Project Bluebeam. I found the info interesting but we all know it's kind of way "out-there". I don't doubt the technology exists, it does. Time will tell if whats rumored amounts to anything or not. Like most of the things we're watching, there is a lot of "wait and see". When we see, then we'll know. If an alien related incident would happen down the road, we are fore-warned it's a deception.

Here's an organization that Tim is recommending from the Jewish Renewal Movement:
ReplyDeletehttp://tiny.cc/NkSyB
The are part of the Jewish Renewal Movement:
and are called a Network of Spiritual Progressives:
http://www.spiritualprogressives.org/
They are bascially espousing the same politics as the Emergent Church and many other groups and are for the Global Marshall Plan. Here is an address to the Davos World Economic Forum:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QqzG87ofSY
They endorse Jeffrey Sachs, the Columbia U
economist who advises the UN.
Here is the kicker though, Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi is the founder of the Jewish Renewal Movement. He was originally a Lubavitcher and writes extensively on Kabbalah and Mysticism:
http://integrallife.com/contributors/rabbi-zalman-schachter-shalomi
http://tinyurl.com/9l4aso
He's very involved in the INTERFAITH DIALOGUE:
"Throughout his long career, Reb Zalman has been an unending resource for the world religious community. He is the father of the Jewish Renewal and Spiritual Eldering movements, an active teacher of Hasidism and Jewish Mysticism, and a participant in ecumenical dialogues throughout the world, including the widely influential dialogue with the Dalai Lama, documented in the book, The Jew in the Lotus. One of the world's foremost authorities on Hasidism, he is the author of Wrapped in a Holy Flame: Teachings and Tales of the Hasidic Masters. His latest book is Jewish with Feeling: A Guide to Meaningful Jewish Practice, written with Joel Segel. Reb Zalman currently lives in Boulder, Colorado, and continues to be active in mentoring his many students the world over."
I found that by the way on Ken Wilbur's site. In case you don't know him, take a look:
http://integrallife.com/home
Now he is a very controversial figure in the Jewish community, but what I want to point out is his focus on Jewish Mysticism which fits into the New Spirituality very neatly...
Here is his background education, which is considerable, and here he is also meeting with sufis:
http://tinyurl.com/8fs7nf
Here's his foundation:

Here's the Rav on another panel with many other speakers on Kabbalah including someone from the Chabad center who was scheduled to go:

He's considered the 27th most influential rabbi in America by Newsweek, down a little from last year when he was #22 according to Newsweek, but still impressive that someone so blatantly New Age is at that stature among rabbis:
http://www.newsweek.com/id/131600
So, I do think we can just write him off. He was Rabbi Lerner's teacher. Now I think someone, perhaps it was Rudi, brought up Rabbi Lerner in the past.. Let's look at Rabbi Michael Lerner's connection with Ervin Laszlo:
http://tinyurl.com/7xobsq
This is a MUST SEE!!!
We know that Laszlo is part of Jerusalem Academy and numerous other things, like Noetic Sciences, Club of Budapest, Club of Rome, Damanhur, etc, etc. so here we have a known Kabbalist linked directly to a known New Ager....very well known.

“The movie [THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL] also preaches some false teachings of which Christians need to be aware. In a moving scene, Jacob tearfully begs Klaatu to bring his father back to life. Klaatu then tells the young boy that in the universe no one truly dies, but transforms. This is in direct contrast with God’s Living Word which says that “just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.”
I did a search at NASA for Creme and Bluebeam - and CREME 96 came up. I'm wondering if that is somehow connnected to Benjamin Creme's christ appearance in the sky as it's about projecting beams into the atmosphere.

ReplyDeleteAre you aware that Henry Kissinger was reportedly excommunicated from the Jewish community on June 20,1976?
Rabbi Marvin Antelman, author of the books entitled TO ELIMINATE THE OPIATE was reportedly the Chief Justice of the Supreme Rabbinic Court of America who presided over the excommunication of Kissinger from Judaism.
As Chief Justice of the Supreme Rabbinic Court, it was said to be his responsibility to execute the Writ of Excommunication and a Bill of Particulars following an in depth investigation into Dr. Kissinger's behavior.
Included in their study was the central role Kissinger was believed to have played in secretly exporting many of Hitler's top Nazi scientists and SS officers into high level U.S. intelligence and American industry positions during the CIA's infamous top secret "Project Paperclip."
Apparently, Kissinger's excommunication was not acknowledged by the whole Jewish community because after his excommunication, Kissinger became the first honoree of the Museum of Jewish Heritage as "a living memorial to the holocaust."

Those of you have been reading about the Jewish Renewal Movement and Kabbalah will see that on Synagogue 3000's blod, Rabbi David Ingber ( scroll down) was trained by Rabbi Zalman Shechter-Shalomi.. but not only by him, but by the Ultra Orthodox.
I will attach part of what it says about him but encourage you to read for yourselves:
"
David's thought and teachings are informed by a similarly wide range of world-views. Particular influences include Rav Abraham Isaac Kook, Carl Jung, Ken Wilber, the Baal Shem Tov and the Ishbitzer Rebbe. He is illuminated by the teachings of Jewish mysticism and Chasidut, and fascinated by the intersection of these ideas with those of other Western and Eastern philosophies.
Rabbi David has also spent many years in specific study of other sacred traditions, and brings with him over 10 years of experience in the healing arts, including Yoga, Shiatsu, Pilates, Gyrotonics, Kung Fu, and Chen school Tai Chi. In addition, he is a certified Astrologer who weaves this ancient wisdom into his work.
With his extensive experience of so many wisdom traditions, Reb David brings a unique depth and breadth of understanding to his rabbinic work. He is deeply committed to comparative religious studies, and to integrating into Judaism those practices which consistently prove effective in opening a connection with the Divine.
In particular Rabbi David promotes a renewed Jewish emphasis on meditative practices, and is working for the integration of sacred body practices into mainstream Judaism."
As some of you may remember, Rick Warren was instrumental in the setting up of Synangogue 3000..Some of us were outraged to know that Rick, was involved in helping Jews spread more Judaism, instead of spreading the news about Yeshua the Messiah...
Now Synagogue 3000 is collaborating with the young group of Christians who are called "Emergent" who participate in all kinds of mystical contemplative practices..

There is still more coming on the subject of mysticism, Jewish, Christian, and otherwise. My thesis is that this will be the glue of the One World Religion, and all that is mysticism and esoteric wisdom is from the pit of hell, or as I said before from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The snake has told us we can eat of it, but God said we cannot...it leads to spiritual death.

Many thanks for the CREME 96 references. Fascinatingly, perhaps coincidental, even more perhaps not, CREME = COSMIC RAY EFFECTS on MICROELECTRONICS. It appears to be a project primarily of the European Space Agency (under the remit of Dr. Solana) but the US Navy is in on it too. Fascinatingly, its projects are given name such as "GAIA" and "GAIA TRIUMF" -- There is much more to this and I am checking it out. It appears to be, inter alia, a study of solar flares and cosmic rays. The acronyms of the program are strikingly New Age / Occult.

Susanna,
ReplyDeleteTruly fascinating on Rabbi Antelman who phoned and talked with me in the past. I believe Dorothy Margraf may have communicated with him -- I know for sure that a research colleague of mine, Richard Gilman did. I was not aware of the Kissinger facets. I know of Antelman as an author and he called me as another author where we had common research interests.
Constance
To Susanna (10:00 AM):
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the valuable information.
I'm all for every member of the Bilderberg group being "excommunicated" from their respective church groups.
At some point, they manage to "sell their souls to the devil" when they decide to be a part of all of their evil New World Order agendas.
Hi Joyce,
ReplyDeleteInteresting information. I have said from the very onset of my work in 1981 that the glue holding the New Age Movement together was mysticism. A trance is a trance is a trance. They definitely want you to depart from your rational, analytical mind. And no marvel -- nobody in their right mind would accept the New Age agenda.

"Perhaps the push for psychiatric tests for gun ownership is to prevent another Virginia Tech type incident. Does this go too far, perhaps it could lead to that."
What this film points out is that the psychiatric industry, like most of the other institutions in this country: Big Pharma, Defense, Medical, Higher Education, Banking, are a revolving door of perpetual self protectionism and advancement. Not only is the fox watching the hen house, but he built it as well. When phychiatrists (Big Pharma donning their sheep suits) are responsible for the definition of mental illness, the treatment of it, and the implementation of societal mandates to detect and monitor it, there can be no safe level of operation. It goes without saying, that not every single person or entity is corrupt, but the system itself is broken. It's like asking a pedophile to babysit.
People who believe psychiatric testing will prevent shootings like Virginia Tech is like saying if you take away birth control people will stop having sex. You might stop a few, but in the end, human nature, evil, the criminal element and the determined will find a way to do what they want anyway. But as a consequence, responsible, moral, law-abiding citizens will be the collateral damage that is all to often accepted by the majority of people in their effort to make the world a safer and better place for themselves.
Just so you don't think I am the only one pondering questions about mysticism, in academic circles there are a number of debates going on over this:
ReplyDeleteThis article is not light reading, just a warning, but if we are going to seriously ponder the questions of the New Age and how it will come about we might want to dig a little:
http://www.wordtrade.com/religion/judaism/kabbalahR.htm
This is a little lighter reading but gives some historical background with some links on Rabbi Luria, one of the Jewish mystics.
http://tiny.cc/cobIo
Not all branches of Judaism are involved with Kabbalah..Mainly the Hassidic and Orthodox branches and as someone pointed out there is also pop-Kabbalah i.e. the Madonna variety which clearly has very little to do with Hasidic Judaism.
The Jewish Renewal Movement which is akin to the Emergent Church is obviously involved also.
Joyce
One more last one on Kabbalah. This site was given approbation by the former Chief Rabbi of Israel..The article is on reincarnation, but there is much more on the site, which is explained in simple clear terms:
ReplyDeletehttp://tinyurl.com/9ufp98
I just want the believers in Yeshua to know what Kabbalah is and not think that I'm picking on Jews. I am a Jew, and love my Jewish Messiah, the Jewish people, Israel, etc. but just as many of us have pointed out things about the Churches, and many other organizations, we have a responsibility to point things out within Judaism that are actually part and parcel of this same trend. If anyone wants to accuse me of anti-semitism on the blog, I will say rubbish. If anyone wants to accuse me of being anti-Kabbalah, anti-mysticism, anti-man made traditions that attempt to superceed the commands of God, I will say Amen to that.
I do have more to research on this topic, because I believe that Mystery Bablyon has spiritual, political and economic aspects to it. All three aspects will be instrumental in ushering in the New World Order. Just as we are seeing the manipulation of the financial markets, just as we are seeing the erasing of national boundaries, we will see the blending of religions. The common denominator will be esoteric mysticism. Why do I say this?
While God is mysterious in some ways, He is not mystical or esoteric. He has revealed Himself simply and clearly through His Written Word. In the
Book of Revelations it says plainly:
Rev. 22:18-21I testify to everyone who hears athe words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, dwhich are written in this book. He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.
We are not to add to the Word of God with our man-made traditions, any kind of traditions.. and certainly not esoteric traditions that we then say only the "elite" or "initiated" should learn. Initiation is something for those who want to follow the demonic spirit of Alice Bailey, not for those who want to follow the Word of the Living God..
Joyce
P.S. There were Christians who followed Kabbalah too:

MYSTICISM
ReplyDeleteMysticism doesn't keep the New Age movement together and it didn't keep the Nazi movement together.
Are you saying that Rick Warren is into mysticism? Are you saying the abortionists are into mysticism? Are you saying that every individual who is involved in the cultural changes taking place is into mysticism? Some of the greatest Christians were mystics.
Absolute nonsense.
What has held every antisemitic effort together including that of the New Age movement is overwhelming pride, an inability to accept rules, that there are responsibilities to God and to one's neighbor that one must follow even under difficult circumstances. It's an attitude of "No one is going to tell me what to do. I make my own rules."
It is a seduction into evil behavior, step by step that comes from pride.
http://www.bible-scripture.com/fallen-angels.html
" Suddenly, their leader swelled with pride. The dragon's defective mind led him to think that he was better then his Creator. He rebelled against God and carried one third of the angels with him. They fell from God’s grace: there was no forgiveness!"
You want to go back to roots. There it is.
Pride, not mysticism.
German Christians who went along with Hitler, and Hitler himself said publicly how Christianity was wonderful. The Nazi leadership was into the occult, but the general population was not. They still thought they were Christians, went to church and praised God. Oh they said the words and prided themselves on being good Christians, but they had been seduced by pride into evil acts. They followed Hitler who was so full of overwhelming pride tht he thought he could remake humanity better than God did. They thought that by getting rid of Jews they would make a better world. Huge numbes had left their Christianity behind and didn't even know it because they continued to say the words.
Hitler and the other antisemites didn't hate Jews. They hated Judaism because Judaism puts restrictions on the behavior of its followers. The idea was to kill off the followers of Judaism. Christians were to be next, not because they talked Christianity. They were doing that all through the war. Hitler was their Christian messiah. It was because they knew that no man can serve two masters and as long as even a seed of that belief in someone else who gave rules was there, it would not be allowed to grow and was to be cut off at the root.
Pride sits in every heart, waiting to be aroused. It is at the heart of evil. Occult ideas can trigger those prideful feelings in those who are more intelligent. They provide the temptation for some, but not all. Christians can be full of pride, believing they know all there is to know about God. The same can be said for Jews. The fallen angels weren't in the process of studying mysticism before the fall.
Pride causes people to shed the chains of responsibility that Christianity and Judaism impose. Pride leads to the temptation to power which causes the fall.
Pride leads to self-deception.
It's not a study of what is beyond our senses that has brought on the New Age movement. Study of any topic doesn't bring on destruction. If that were so, the world wouldn't have lasted as long as it has.
Going back to the Bible, to the Garden of Eden, the command is to follow the laws of God, not to avoid learning.
Pride, not mysticism, is at the heart of the New Age movement. Pride bring people together who have never thought of mysticism.

22 years ago a jewish girl friend of mine, was reading a book by the title "Mystic Judaism". She was attempting to incorporate its teaching into her more orthodox upbringing. The truth is satan seeks to corrupt all souls on earth, regardless of belief system. Only scripture, old and new testaments, correctly discerned are a sure foundation of truth.
ReplyDeleteGood article Dorothy.
ReplyDeleteAre you for or against the classes? I seem to think you are for.
I am against. The Alliance of Civilisations is the exact same thing as what this class is trying to convey.
The world is heading towards calling anyone who claims to have a monopoly on the truth a terrorist. In my faith, Jesus is the only way. To allow any other way would be a lie. This would leave me to drop out of that class I suppose. Also, for Muslims or Jews, this would be a lie. Peace at any expense is not true peace.
Something I don't understand, and I want to, you said Christianity should not be pushed on to Jews using false information. What does that mean? What is the false information?
Dear Joyce,
ReplyDeleteA wise friend once shared an analogy with me about my sharing of the gospel message with others many years ago when I was young. She stated that my witness was being presented arrogantly over and over because I wanted to be the seed producer, the soil preparer, the sower, and the harvester all-in-one. After sowing the Word, she stated that I tended to continue on impatiently by over-watering, over-tending, and then if the seed did not take or did not grow according to my expectation, I turned to beating the heck out of the soil to force it's production.
I'm just a humble servant of Christ, Joyce. I am called to share the Good News with others, but, He will reap the harvest. He will justify, sanctify, and reward His elect. Not I.
I'm sorry, sister, but to continue answering questions, that so often aren't even posed to you, in the manner that you choose to do so, is offensive. If you have a verse that touches your heart because you see that the hour is very late, prophetically speaking, then I appreciate you sharing what you know the Holy Spirit has laid on your heart, but to continue to present the gospel in the way that you have, is coming across as arrogant to many and thus we have this seemingly endless offensive debating.
I learned the lesson that God had set out to teach me at an early age; I pray that you will hear this exhortation and take it to heart.

ReplyDeleteI am definitely against the class. Nothing good could come of it. It would only cause confusion in the minds of children. Parents have a right to determine what values they support and the reasons why those values are supported.
Frankly I think the schools should have major classes in good manners, totally apart from religion. Manners are things that everyone can agree on and would make life a lot better for everyone.
There is a big difference between religious values and good manners.
Dorothy
Dear Paul,
ReplyDeleteBrother, you did not even offer any links or evidence for refutation on the part of those who are the firstborn of God. Whether there is truth or not to the words that you posted, why should others here not be offended by such accusations when you offer no direct evidence as proof or for countering?
How deeply offended I would be if individuals spewed such accusations at the evangelical church, brothers and sisters in Christ, without presenting evidence and witnesses to determine the truth of the matter.
Yes, I've read probably as much about Freemasonry as you have and I've read the "Protocols".
I consider myself a sheep who knows her Shephard's voice, what difference does it make if certain individuals consider me as cattle? When I accepted Jesus Christ as Messiah by faith through grace, I knew that it would come with a price.
You don't think that the Lord knows what has been plotted, in vain, against His Holy Name?
Why do you speak so offensively against those that you do not truly know? If you are sure enough of your evidence, then present it to be considered or to be discounted. If not, then be careful little tongue what you say.
By His Grace,
-SV

"XINJIANG – ChinaAid issues an urgent call to the international press, government leaders and concerned individuals around the world to intercede on behalf of Christian prisoners in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region: Alimujiang Yimiti, Wusiman Yiming and Lou Yuanqi. ChinaAid has learned from an anonymous government insider who is sympathetic with the Christians that international pressure is critical now. The source says the Xinjiang Authority is deliberating in the next few days whether to release these three prisoners."
"Alimujiang, Wusiman and Lou have been shown great injustice by the Xinjiang government in delayed trials, mistreatment in prison and blatant violation of legal rights."
"Another Uyghur Christian, Mr. Wusiman Yiming was sentenced to two years of re-education through labor in September 2007 for “revealing state secrets” and “illegal proselytizing.” Sources say that the real reason he was sentenced was because of his boldness as a Christian and a leader in the Uyghur church. Initially, officials planned to sentence him for 10 to 15 years, but after international media attention they sentenced him to two years in the labor camp. Sources report that he has aged dramatically in the labor camp and his health is deteriorating due to harsh conditions. When Wusiman’s lawyer appealed his sentence in June 2008, court authorities insisted on a closed hearing, then turned down the appeal and refused to explain. They denied Wusiman proper access to his lawyer, which violated normal court procedure."

ReplyDeleteYour words are wise ones and I thank you for them.
Christians should speak freely about Christianity. The problem comes in when they speak about Judaism in a destructive manner with lying words. Too many Christians think that because they use parts of the Bible they own all of the Bible and Jews should only be allowed to use it on their terms.
While at the same Christians are sure that theirs is the one true faith, they do not allow Jews to have that same belief even though it is stated in the Bible. They take on the role of God in determining which religion is valid and which isn't, using their own writings as proof.
You can go on the internet and find huge numbers of websites of Christians attacking Judaism. You won't find the same number of websites with Jews attacking Christianity. There are year by year timelines of attacks by Christians on Jews who practice Judaism. I have no idea why some Christians want to perfect Jews long before they perfect themselves. Thank heavens I know many more good Christians than Christians who use the words but don't do the deeds. It keeps me in focus.
Yes, Christians should talk about Christianity when and where they want to. They just shouldn't pretend knowledge where there is none about Judaism.

ReplyDeleteJoyce,
I know of the "Jewish Renewal" movement in general and am familiar with Rabbi Zalman.
The former is a kind of New Age Reform Judaism. Rabbi Zalman has morphed far from his Orthodox roots. I once went to see a lecture of his on a Sabbath afternoon. He wore flowing robes anhd played a guitar. Orthodox Jews do not use musical instruments on the Sabbath in mourning for the destroyed Temple where such instruments WERE used.
Afterwards, in a Q/A session, I asked: "If I were in a distant city, went to a service, and saw someone dressed like you and playing the guitar, how would I know I was at a Jewish event?" R' Zalman replied that I had asked a good question and proceded not to answer it with a lot of words.
Jewish Renewal also universalizes Judaism by promoting interfaith services and liberally intepreting Torah to justify anti-Israel actions.
Judaism is a universal religion in that it does not require someone to convert to be saved; merely good ethical and moral behavior. But this is not the kind of universalism Jewish Renewal spouts. Theirs is more of a NA universalism that would abolish religion entirely by merger; likke what Dorothy describes. That is not good for the Jews.
Len
Respectfully disagree with Dorothy on the mysticism issue. Mysticism is a HUGE element in the New Age -- usually wrapped in pride too, for mysticism is a common glue -- what Marilyn Ferguson called in THE AQUARIAN CONSPIRACY: 'conspirators made common by their earth shaking discoveries. . ."

ReplyDeleteThat article by Brian King in the (anti-Zionist) British Guardian smacks of moral relativism.
Alan Dershowits was right and King is wrong. Equating "Islamophobia" with anti-Zionism, as King (and many other British) does, is a non-starter.
"Islamophobia" is an Islamist apologist yelp whenever terrorism is condemned and Islamist advocacy interfered with.
The fact is that anti-Zionism is almost always antisemitism and anti-Zionists are almost always antisemetic; even Jewish anti-Zionists. The latter are almost always secular; the only exceptions are the Satmar Hassidim and Neturei Karta.
The fact is that the Tanakh is a Zionist work if there ever was one. But most anti-Zionists (previous exceptions excepted) refuse to consider the Bible as worthy of notice. (Satmar and Neturei Karta assert that Jews are not to form a Jewish state till the Messiah arrives.)

SV,
ReplyDeleteI don't think your remark is appropriate in the context of this discussion with all my respect to you. I do understand what you are trying to say though. The context of our discussion here started with Mumbai bombings and a group called the Lubavitchers. I am not exactly sharing the gospel here as much as dealing with misconceptions about mysticism, Kabbalah etc.
I find it rather odd that we can criticize every Tom, Dick and Harry and the Christian world, but God forbid if we ever critique anything Jewish we are anti-semites. I am not am not against the Word of God, the Torah and I will state again, I love my people.. I love my husband too, but if he was committing adultery, I would not stand by silently. I love my kids too, but if they were playing Dungeon and Dragons... I would not shut up.. I'm giving far out examples, but to illustrate a point..
I am having a problem with all of the mysticial esoteric interpretations of the Word of God that are so outrageous that they bear no resemblance to the original written words. I would criticize anyone, be it a Christian a Buddhist or a Muslims for doing the same thing.
It's not because someone is a descendant of Judah, Benjamin or Levy that they are always right.. Even those that walk in that deception, I don't hate, but I will speak truth and if you look at Yeshua's Words He wasn't always nicey, nice. Sometimes He just called what He saw...example:
Matt. 23:27 ¶ “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness.
Those are strong words.. By the way, He wasn't talking to ALL the Jews as some people think, but a small group of religious leaders who were leading others astray. They were not true shepherds, but leading the flock astray.
What do we do with a verse like this? Now Yeshua was not a anti-semite. He was Jewish and hung around with Jews, almost exclusively.
Now in the Tanakh, Ezekiel, who was an Israelite was also hard on the people.. Look:
Ezek. 8:6-10 And He said to me, “Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations which the house of Israel are committing here, so that I would be far from My sanctuary? But yet you will see still greater abominations.” Then He brought me to the entrance of the court, and when I looked, behold, a hole in the wall. He said to me, “Son of man, now adig through the wall.” So I dug through the wall, and behold, an entrance. And He said to me, “Go in and see the wicked abominations that they are committing here.” So I entered and looked, and behold, every form of creeping things and beasts and detestable things, with all the idols of the house of Israel, were carved on the wall all around.
Look what Josiah found in Israeal, when he was king. The Torah scrolls were "hidden" in the Temple and when he found them he wept and mourned and began to cleanse the kingdom of all of its idolatry.
My people, Israel, who were called to be a light to the nations over and over again did not hear the voice of God.. Read the Prophets of Tanakh.
My problem is all of a sudden we arrrive in th 21st century and no matter what practices we find among the physical descents of the House of Judah, all of a sudden they can do no wrong... If Jews are practicing mysticism they are no better off than the people back in Ezekiel's day, or Yeshua's day. Paul's biggest problems were with Gnostics and Mystics...not Torah observant Jews. That's the great misunderstanding about Paul. No, you can't be saved by observing Torah, but no one ever was criticized for observing the Word of God...
I will repeat, if a Jew, a Christian or anyone else is practicing mysticism they need to ask God for forgiveness.. They are seeking secret wisdom outside of the revealed Word and it's very dangerous and an open door for the evil one.
Now, that is the context of my original discussion, so I hope that is a little clearer. I would say exactly the same thing to a Christian, or to a Messianic who might be engaged in these things. and I would not mince my words. There are Messianics, who say they are "Torah observant" and because they are so enamored of all that is Jewish, they end up doing Kabbalah, so I just want to be clear in saying I am against that too. Some of these Messianics are Jewish, but a lot of them are not...but that's irrelevant. Wrong is wrong.
Right now, I am not exactly trying to share the gospel with anyone. I am trying to critique a practice that runs through all religions that I find particularly dangerous. In India, there was a far out group called Syncrocity, and Chabad.. They are both engaged in forms, albeit different forms of mysticism. Packaging Mysticism in Judaism or the Emerging Church does not change what it is..
As God showed Ezekiel the abominations that were going on IN the Temple, not somewhere outside we are reminded that this can happen within the "respectable walls" of religious institutions, including seminaries and Churches.
If what I said I said disturbs someone here, maybe they need to ask the question why?
The story of Chanukah is a about the Temple being defiled. Sometimes it was foreign invaders in the case of Antiochus Epiphanes, who deflie the Temple, but sometimes we do it ourselves...
Blessings,

ReplyDeleteOkay, back to mysticism, the interfaith dialogue stuff and the big players. Rudi, I believe mentioned Rabbi David Rosen. He is a huge player in this whole scenario, so I want to highlight his website, and the links on it which I think are significant:
http://rabbidavidrosen.net/links.htm
He received "papal knighthood"...
http://rabbidavidrosen.net/index.htm
On is site is the Elijah Interfaith Institute again, which is on Jerusalem Academy's website too.
Hommes de Parole which was involved in the rabbi Imam meeting is one his site too.
and this link is also on his site:
http://www.starsforearth.org/?q=fr/
Look at the images and video on the site. It's UN Millnnium Development Goals all the way..
On that site we find this:

http://tinyurl.com/7trws5
On this last blog we find this:
http://www.interfaithpower.org/members.htm

On this site you have everyone from Catholics, Presbyterians to Baptists to Methodists, to Buddhists to Synagogues... I will do some more research on this, but I suspect the common thread running through Mother Earth worship will be mysticism..

Joyce, don’t compare Ezekiel to the New Testament. Yes; Ezekiel criticized Israel but he did it from within the family. He not only did not start another religion but he condemned idolatry, worship of other gods, and he reaffirmed God's eternal love of Israel and of its redemption. Same with Moses!
Ezek. 6: 1 The word of the Lord came to me, saying: 2 "Son of man, direct your face toward the mountains of Israel and prophesy to them. 3 And you shall say; 'O mountains of Israel, hearken to the word of the Lord God. So said the Lord God to the mountains and to the hills, to the rivulets and to the valleys: Behold I bring upon you the sword, and I shall destroy your high places. 4 And your altars will become desolate, and your sun gods will be broken, and I shall cast your slain ones before your idols. 5 And I shall lay the corpses of the children of Israel before their idols, and I shall scatter your bones around your altars. 6 In all your dwelling places, the cities will be laid waste and the high places will become desolate, in order that your altars be laid waste and shown to be guilty, and your idols will be broken and abolished and your sun gods will be cut down, and your works will be obliterated. 7 And the slain will fall in your midst, and you will know that I am the Lord. 8 But I shall leave a remnant insofar as you will have people among the nations who will escape the sword, when you are scattered in the lands.
How do you think he would have felt about Jewish worship of Jesus?
And how do you think Ezekiel would have felt about the Jewish return to history with the founding of the state of Israel notwithstanding his criticism?
Ezek. 39: 25 Therefore, so said the Lord God: Now I shall restore the fortunes of Jacob, and I shall have compassion on the House of Israel, and I shall be zealous for My Holy Name. 26 And they shall bear their disgrace and all their treachery that they committed against Me when they dwell on their land securely with no one frightening them. 27 When I return them from the peoples and gather them from the lands of their enemies, I shall be sanctified through them before the eyes of many nations (ha-goyim). 28 And they will know that I am the Lord their God when I exile them to the nations (ha-goyim), and I shall gather them to their land, and I shall no longer leave any of them there. 29 And I shall no longer hide My face from them, for I shall have poured out My spirit upon the House of Israel," says the Lord God.
And Moses’ criticisms with assurance of eventual redemption:
Deut. 32: 4 The deeds of the [Mighty] Rock are perfect, for all His ways are just; a faithful God, without injustice He is righteous and upright. 5 Destruction is not His; it is His children's defect you crooked and twisted generation. 6 Is this how you repay the Lord, you disgraceful, unwise people?! Is He not your Father, your Master? He has made you and established you. 7 Remember the days of old; reflect upon the years of [other] generations. Ask your father, and he will tell you your elders, and they will inform you. 8 When the Most High gave nations their lot, when He separated the sons of man, He set up the boundaries of peoples according to the number of the children of Israel. 9 Because the Lord's portion is His people Jacob, the lot of His inheritance. 10 He found them in a desert land, and in a desolate, howling wasteland. He encompassed them and bestowed understanding upon them; He protected them as the pupil of His eye. 11 As an eagle awakens its nest, hovering over its fledglings, it spreads its wings, taking them and carrying them on its pinions. 12 [SO] THE LORD GUIDED THEM ALONE, AND THERE WAS NO ALIEN DEITY WITH HIM. --- 15 And Jeshurun became fat and rebelled; you grew fat, thick and rotund; [Israel] forsook the God Who made them, and spurned the [Mighty] Rock of their salvation. 16 They provoked His zeal with alien worship; they made Him angry with abominations deeds. 17 They sacrificed to demons, which have no power, deities they did not know, new things that only recently came, which your forefathers did not fear. 18 You forgot the [Mighty] Rock Who bore you; you forgot the God Who delivered you. 19 And the Lord saw this and became angry, provoked by His sons and daughters. 20 And He said, "I will hide My face from them. I will see what their end will be, for they are a generation of changes; they are not [recognizable] as My children whom I have reared. 21 They have provoked My jealousy with a non god, provoked My anger with their vanities. Thus, I will provoke their jealousy with a non people, provoke their anger with a foolish nation. 22 For a fire blazed in My wrath, and burned to the lowest depths. It consumed the land and its produce, setting aflame the foundations of mountains. 23 I will link evils upon them. I will use up My arrows on them. 24 They will sprout hair from famine, attacked by demons, excised by Meriri. I will incite the teeth of livestock upon them, with the venom of creatures that slither in the dust. 25 From outside, the sword will bereave, and terror from within; young men and maidens, suckling babes with venerable elders. 26 I said that I would make an end of them, eradicate their remembrance from mankind. 27 Were it not that the enemy's wrath was heaped up, lest their adversaries distort; lest they claim, "Our hand was triumphant! The Lord did none of this!" 28 For they are a nation devoid of counsel, and they have no understanding. 29 If they were wise, they would understand this; they would reflect upon their fate. 30 How can one [person] pursue a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, unless their [Mighty] Rock has sold them out, and the Lord has given them over? 31 For their rock is not like our [Mighty] Rock. Nevertheless, our enemies sit in judgment. --- 36 When the Lord will judge His people, and will reconsider His servants, when He sees that the power is increasing, and none is controlled or strengthened. 37 Then He will say, "Where is their deity, the rock in which they trusted, --- 39 SEE NOW THAT IT IS I! I AM THE ONE, AND THERE IS NO GOD LIKE ME! I cause death and grant life. I strike, but I heal, and no one can rescue from My Hand! --- 43 Sing out praise, O you nations, for His people! For He will avenge the blood of His servants, inflict revenge upon His adversaries, and appease His land [and] His people.
Doesn’t this remind you of Isaiah Ch. 53?

TO READERS HERE
ReplyDeleteJoyce said she could point out where Christians and Messianics are into mysticism, but she don't. She come to a blog where only one Jewish person posted, now two, and does a major attack on what she calls mysticism in the Jewish community. She doesn't love the Jewish community. She comes here and criticizes it. would behind their backs.
Dear readers, what would you say about a person who claimed devotion to Christianity and then went to Jewish websites and went on and on about Christian faults?
Nothing said on a Christian website will reach the Jewish community, so how can it help them if that is her goal? Like her story about her connection to the Jewish community, her goals here don't stand the test of truth.
She is like those Jews for Jesus people who hand out those goofy little booklets to tons of Christians which say Jews should follow Jesus. She could go to any of a huge number of Jewish websites. Maybe because like Len is doing, they would debunk her very quickly. Here she can look like an expert because readers know very little about Judaism.
She is not part of the Jewish community despite her continuing delusion. She may be part of the Messianic community she preaches to, wherever that is, or she can be of the Christian community. The Jewish community is not a matter of blood. It is a matter of belief. Just as someone born into a Catholic family is considered a Catholic and someone born into a Baptist community is considered a Baptist until they convert to another religious group, so it is with the Jewish community.
If Joyce knew anything about Judaism, she would know, as Len has pointed out, that Jews are very aware of the problems caused by those who would turn Jews away from Judaism and convert them to another religion like Messianic Christianity or some other New Age religion.
Time to look at the history of what is called Messianic Judaism. In spite of the fact that the early Christian movement had many Jews involved, the Hebrew Christian movement started at the turn of the last century.
http://www.mcu.edu/papers/mess_jud.htm
What's the difference between Hebrew Christianity and Messianic Judaism?
"A key aspect of Messianic Judaism's deviance from the former Hebrew Christianity is its emphasis on using original Hebrew terms in place of traditional (Gentile) Christian terms. Examples include Abba (God the Father), HaBen (God the Son), Yeshua HaMash iach (Jesus Christ), Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit), B'rit Hadasha (New Testament), Mikveh (baptism), Joachim (John), Miriam (Mary), Sa'aul (Paul), and Shilush (Trinity).4"
"Over ninety percent of the Messianic congregations in the United States are "charismatic" in their theological orientation (believing in the gifts [charisms] of the Holy Spirit: tongues, healing, etc.),56 with one-third having been created by the charismatic Assemblies of God denomination.57 The meeting halls themselves often look similar to other synagogues, with the Israeli flag and the American flag at the front on either side, a Star of David, a menorah, and (in some cases) a Torah scroll behind a curtain. 58 Interestingly enough, these congregations are not "overtly evangelistic." They see their purpose as being for fellowship and worship "in a fashion more conducive to the Jewish heritage" than would be the case in a traditional Gentile Christian setting. 59"
"f present trends continue, the Messianic movement in the United States will likely achieve more success in the coming years. However, while its acceptance may grow among Gentile Christians, there is little likelihood that the same acceptance will be granted by the American Jewish community. Thus, Messianic Jews will probably remain on the outside of this community, looking in. "

QUESTION FOR CONSTANCE ON FREEDOM OF SPEECH
ReplyDeleteYou have recently mentioned freedom of speech. Please don't overlook this important question. It would be invaluable to know where you see this blog going.
Here is the question:
"Will you continue to honor your absolute dedication to freedom of speech if skinheads and Satanists begin to congregate on this discussion board?"
To SV,
ReplyDeletePlease stand firm in your own instincts and beliefs and do not let Joyce intimidate you. Your faith shines through in many of your posts.
You DO NOT need to answer to Joyce or justify yourself to her in any way. She is not the arbiter of "who is a true believer in Jesus Christ/Yeshua" although she acts as if she is.
After your death we will all stand before the Lord, not before Joyce!
Don't be afraid to be "unpopular" here with some of the other Christians who "look up" to Joyce as their "leading light" and spokesperson.
I am a Christian and I admire many (including you, SV) , but look up to no one but the Lord Himself.

Abba in the Name of Yeshua, I ask anything of the evil one to not interfere with the information about apostasy.

In Bethlehem, the Church of the Nativity originally built by the Christian Emperor Constantine during the fourth century is located above a cave that legend holds is the place of Christ's birth. It's impossible to know whether the spot truly is where the Virgin Mary delivered the Son of God. Nevertheless, one interesting fact about the Church is that all pilgrims who venture to see the supposed place where the holy child was laid in a manger must first enter through The Door of Humility.
ReplyDeleteThe Door of Humility is a small rectangular entrance that was created during Ottoman times to prevent carts from being driven in by looters, and to force even the most prominent of visitors to dismount from their horses before entering. Famed Bible commentator William Barclay once noted of the door: "There is something beautiful in the symbolism that the church where the cave is has a door so low that all must stoop to enter. It is supremely fitting that every man should approach the infant Jesus upon his knees."
Few virtues of life could be more necessary than humility. The prophet Micah said that it is an essential requirement of God: "He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God" (Micah 6:8). Jesus referred to humility when he said: "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:3).
A lack of humility is strongly condemned in God's economy and is always the forerunner of judgment. In one of his pronouncements of judgment against Judah, the Lord said through his prophet Jeremiah: "They have not been humbled, to this day, nor have they feared; they have not walked in my law or in my statutes..." (Jeremiah 44:10). Just before destruction fell upon King Belshazzar, the successor to Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, Daniel, the prophet proclaimed: "But you his son, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart..." (Daniel 5:22).
Dear Joyce,
ReplyDeleteYou said:
"I am not against the Word of God, the Torah and I will state again, I love my people.. I love my husband too, but if he was committing adultery, I would not stand by silently. I love my kids too, but if they were playing Dungeon and Dragons... I would not shut up.. I'm giving far out examples, but to illustrate a point.."
You've made a covenant with your husband, therefore you have an obligation to hold him in account for the broken covenant of marriage. You brought your children into this world, therefore you have a responsibility before God to raise them up in the way that they should go for His glory and honor.
However, you are NOT the convictor of the souls of men. To share your testimony in what you post is one thing, to demand everyone's attention using MANY exhausting words to deliberate your point, is disrespectful (to the point of uncaring) to those who have repeatedly asked you to be respectful and curb it.
I care for you, Joyce. I pray for you and your family each night. I have cautioned you because you hinder your witness of His Word by disregarding the request of many here to slim down your posts, and by humbly acknowledging the fact that we have the right to be in disagreement, and, by extension, kindly respecting the fact that you do not know how God is working in the hearts of all others here.
"For in the multitude of dreams and many words there is also vanity. But fear God." Ecc 5:7
"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.
Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others." Phil 2:3,4
By His Grace,

ReplyDeleteHi Shem,
I would rather not have a religious debate but I don't fear it if provoked as you are dong by quoting Matthew 23:27 & Matthew 23:37&38.
Every time Jews say the Hallel (Ps. 113-118 which we say on every festival and every new month) we say, “Barukh habah b’Shem Hashem (Ps. 118:26)” ('Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.') " If the NT is true, then *where is he and why don’t we see him again?*

Are you wistful for the "good old days" when there were mostly Evangelical Protestants on this blog all "high fiving" each other?
Are you daring to accuse those who are not Evangelical Protestants of "demonic activity"?
Also, please supply the evidence of this "demonic activity" - and be very careful how you answer.
Because, other than that very transparent 3:00 AM "new age" poster on a previous thread (with his obvious demonic "profile"), I see no OTHER "demons" on this blog.

ReplyDeleteAn anonymous poster talks about demonic activity on this blog and wants to be taken seriously. There is a parallel with channeling here where trusting people are taken in by cons who want them to believe they are getting messages from the beyond.
Read this blog carefully and you'll see how New Age cons can manipulate others who think the cons are being truthful because they share the same emotional words.
Cult watchers know that cults target not the street smart, but the more intelligent who don't think they can be conned. Pride again.
Until they found out that the New Age movement was coming into the Orthodox Jewish community through the alternative health movement, they thought they were aware of all manner of paganism which they avoided.
I don't remember the source, but the line is that the New Age movement has something for everyone, and that includes those reading this blog.

ReplyDeleteDear Joyce,
I presume you are getting ready for the first candle of Hanukkah this evening.
From shopping centers to quiet residential streets the ubiquitous presence of menorahs, around this time each year, is a reminder that Hanukka is one of the more popular holidays of the Jewish calendar. Over 80 percent of Jews in the US light Hanukka candles; over 90 percent in Israel. Beginning tonight, the eight day holiday will extend through December 29.
The popularity of Hanukka transcends its subsidiary status with respect to the biblically mandated holy days, such as the Sabbath and High Holy Days, as well as to the festivals of Passover, Shavuot and Succot. Observant Jews go to work on Hanukka much as they do on any weekday. Hanukka, along with the other major rabbinically-mandated holiday of Purim, is based on historical events that occurred long after revelation of the Five Books of Moses. These two holidays were institutionalized by the sages of talmudic times so it is a rabbinic Talmudic holiday; not a biblical one.
Much of the historical information on Hanukka is found in the apocryphal Books of Maccabees 1 and 2. These books ironically did not survive the final cut for redaction of the extended Jewish Bible, but were eventually incorporated into the Christian bible. Hanukka is the only major Jewish holiday having no basis in the Jewish bible.
As is fairly well known, Hanukka commemorates the successful Maccabeean guerrilla revolt against the superior forces of the Syrian king Antiochus IV during the second century BCE. Not so well known is that the revolt ended a process during which large segments of the Jewish population willingly forsook their traditions while they drifted into adoption of Hellenistic culture. This culture was fascinating and sophisticated with its promotion of the arts, science, literature, philosophy and glorification of the human body. Such activities naturally attracted the wealthier educated city-dwelling Jews. Many willingly disguised their circumcisions, to avoid embarrassment in the gymnasium, and many abandoned Judaism. Hellenism might have overwhelmed Judaism completely had not Antiochus overplayed his hand through religious coercion, under penalty of death, and desecration of the Temple in Jerusalem. These oppressive injustices, and the ensuing revolt, reunited many disparate segments of the Jewish people. These diverse elements spanned from the pietists, who originally shunned revolt preferring to wait for divine intervention, to the mildly-assimilated Hellenists. The revolt was successful. After winning back their religious freedom, the Jews cleansed and rededicated the Temple. The word hanukka means dedication. The resulting enhancement of Jewish pride allowed the people to incorporate positive aspects of Hellenistic culture without compromising their religious heritage.
A major lesson of Hanukkah for Jews is thereefore to avoid assimilation as the Hellenistic Jews did. As a followup to my message to Shem, I add that we will be saying "Blessed is he who comes in the Name of the Lord," in Psalm 118, each day for the next eight days of Hanukkah. I'm still waiting:-)
Hanukka should get us thinking about what constitutes perfection in culture. For the ancient Seleucids, Greeks and Hellenists, physical beauty was the ideal. They considered beauty as an end in itself; a goal important enough to justify even cruelty in its attainment. Contrast this attitude with that of a religious person to whom, beauty, whether natural or man-made, is a manifestation of divinity and its quest can be considered a Divine imperative. It is, however, but one such manifestation. Beauty is arguably less important than moral character, or intellectual perfection. The latter is asserted by seeking knowledge and truth; including ultimate truth. In the Jewish tradition the beginning of wisdom is awe of the Lord. (Prov. 1:7) The sacred is not in conflict with beauty or science but rather should vitalize human creativity as well as behavior . Spiritual and secular activities should relate to and reinforce each other just as do a healthy mind and a healthy body."
When the talmudic sages considered lighting of the menorah for the eight days of Hanukka there was a dispute over the number of lights to burn each evening. Some felt that a single flame each evening would be an adequate symbol. Shammai argued that there should be eight on the first evening with the number being reduced by one each day. This would be a more beautiful, as well as more accurate, emulation of the burning down of the historic cruse of oil. Hillel countered that starting with a single candle, and building up to eight on the final evening, would be the most beautiful, if less accurate, method. The Hillel camp prevailed. Increasingly, it is becoming customary for every member of a family to light an individual menorah each evening. The resulting brilliant spectacle vividly proclaims the miracle of Hanukka, when the Lord 'delivered the mighty into the hands of the weak, the many into the hands of the few, the defiled into the hands of the undefiled, the wicked into the hands of the righteous, and insolent [sinners] into the hands of the diligent students of God's Torah.’"
Happy Hanukka to those who observe it.

If You are the Christ, tell us bplainly.” Jesus answered them, “aI told you, and you do not believe; bthe works that I do in My Father’s name, these testify of Me. “But you do not believe because ayou are not of My sheep “My sheep ahear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;and I give aeternal life to them, and they will never perish; and bno one will snatch them out of My hand. “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. “I and the Father are one.”
ReplyDeleteFor the Christians on the blog, Hanukah is not a mo'ed ( an appointment). The mo'ed are listed in Leviticus 23. Yeshua went to the Temple in Jerusalem on Hanukah to announce His deity. This would have had particular significance since the people of that day would have well remember the foreign forces who desecrated the temple during the time of Antiochus Epiphanes.
Yeshua's appearance and announcement was timed perfectly ( as was everything He did because He's God). He was saying in effect..something much greater that the Temple is here...but sadly what did those people do...they stoned Him.
For those of us who know we are, thanks to Yeshua, the Temple of the Holy Spirit we can remember that Yeshua is the Light of the World. In Him there is no darkness.. It is not a Biblical command to celebrate Hanukah, but since the Bible mentions it as it does Purim, but for some of us it commemorates the one who came to purify more than the Temple.. He came to purify the world from its sin.
John 10:31 ¶ The Jews apicked up stones again to stone Him. Jesus answered them, “I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?” The Jews answered Him, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God.” Jesus answered them, “Has it not been written in your Law, ‘I SAID, YOU ARE GODS’? “If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken),
do you say of Him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?“If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me;but if I do them, though you do not believe Me, believe athe works, so that you may 1know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I in the Father.”Therefore athey were seeking again to seize Him, and bHe eluded their grasp. And He went away aagain beyond the Jordan to the place where John was first baptizing, and He was staying there.
Many came to Him and were saying, “While John performed no sign, yet everything John said about this man was true.” Many believed in Him there.
Here we are in 2008 CE almost 2009..and the same discussion is going on. Yeshua is still saying on Hanukah... I and the Father are echad ( one). There are still those who consider it blasphemy, who would stone Him if they could..and there are those that put their trust in Him.. Yeshua, the light of the world.
Happy Hanukah, May the Spirit of the Living God, the Spirit of Truth touch you in Yeshua's powerful and most holy Name.

Rev. Mark H. Creech. His concluding paragraph
beautifully summed up his understanding of true humility. -Rudi
"Certainly Christmas is a reminder that countries,as well as individuals, need a Savior.
"For unto us a Child is born,
unto us a Son is given;
and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end..."(Isaiah 9:6, 7).
The first step to experiencing the salvation only God can bring is to stoop low, walk through the door of humility, and bow before him who must be born from within."

STAR DAY AND NIGHT
ReplyDeleteIn the Wall Street Journal
I want to throw this idea out. There is one star that is seen both day and night and that is our sun. That big bright thing in the sky is really a star and it is seen both day and night somewhere in the world. By day directly and by night by reflection on the moon.
While researching the various websites I came across this phrase.
"Consequently, Mithras became identified with Sol Invictus at Rome, thus became the giver of authority and victory to the imperial house. The ascendancy of Mithraism was greatly helped by the philosophic tendency of Romans to recognise in the Graeco-Roman gods only forces of nature thus making the Sun the most important of deities. And, since Mithras was identified with the Sun, he became intrinsically associated with Sol Invictus: "the undefeated Sun." or more fully Deus Sol Invictus ("the undefeated sun god")
Now the New Age movement is connected with earth worship. In fact the United Nations press found sun worship so important that they published a coffee table size books on sun worship thru history.
There are many complicated websites that discuss the history of Mithas, Maitreya, sun worship, and the connection between Jesus as the son god and the sun god. I'm not comfortable enough with the information in any of the sites I've looked at to share the links. Speculations abound as to the nature of Maitreya.
I think the message in the WSJ was just code for occult believing insiders who may not even know each other as there are so many occult groups out there. Then again star=sun=Solana.
It could be the symbolism of the sun god smiling down on a teacher pushing the religion of ecology.
As I said, these are ideas I thought of when I rememberd that the sun is a star.

The testimony of a former New Ager and how he sees a connection between Purpose-Driven Life and the New Age!It is clear that Robert Schuller is tied in with New Age leaders and philosophies - now the question is, is Rick Warren connected to Robert Schuller? We believe he is, and that puts the majority of the Christian church at risk!"
I believe there was some discussion here on Rick Warren views as New Age.
Yet it appears that Rick Warren's views are mainstream here among some posters.
http://slate.msn.com/id/2207148/
He also believes that Jews can't be saved. The article is about Obama, but here's the pertinent quote.
"However, the man he has chosen to deliver his inaugural invocation is a relentless clerical businessman who raises money on the proposition that certain Americans—non-Christians, the wrong kind of Christians, homosexuals, nonbelievers—are of less worth and littler virtue than his own lovely flock of redeemed and salvaged and paid-up donors."
The New Age movement has something for everyone, just like Obama's transition team.

I wander, since christians do not know what Christ looks like. and the Jews don't know who the Messiah is. when he comes, returns, or whatever, how will we tell which is the jews and which is the christians messiah?
ReplyDeletewhen they return will they look as they did before, for those who believe that Rabbi Schneerson, was and is the messiah?
I wander will they war over who he belongs too?
I have to also wander if the jews declare their messiah, will the christians attack him, because he is not their messiah? Or will the Jews for Jesus, do their best to discredit him. As Joyce is doing here against the Rebbe Schneerson, since so many rabbi's have declared him, as well as himself, and his entire tribe has declared him the messiah? Is this the reason for her attack on him?

Maitreya Rising?
ReplyDeleteBy Paul Proctor
December 19, 2008
NewsWithViews.com
There was a very strange announcement made recently in the form of a press release posted on the Dow Jones & Company’s Market Watch website dated December 12, 2008, that bears mentioning, if for no other reason, because it reads like something from a supermarket tabloid. Come to think of it, didn’t Rupert Murdoch just buy Dow Jones & Company not long ago? If you’re not aware, they also publish, among other things, the Wall Street Journal.
Anyway, whether this speaks to the decline of a once great business publication or the growing power and influence of a coming world leader, only time will tell. Either way, it is clearly another ominous sign of the desperate times in which we live.
The article in question titled, Share International Reveals Christmas Miracle, advises readers to prepare for a coming miracle that all of us will see in the sky shortly before the “emergence of Maitreya and his group, the Masters of Wisdom.”
Allow me to reiterate: This is a major business and financial news publication – not some obscure blog for Bigfoot hunters and UFO enthusiasts.
The article goes on to say:
Look now for the biggest miracle of all. In the very near future a large, bright star will appear in the sky visible to all throughout the world -- night and day.
Unbelievable? Fantasy? No, a simple fact. Around a week later, Maitreya, the World Teacher for all humanity, will begin his open emergence and -- though not yet using the name Maitreya -- will be interviewed on a major US television program.
Who is Maitreya, you ask?
The press release describes him this way:
Awaited by all faiths under different names, Maitreya is the Christ to Christians, the Imam Mahdi to Muslims, Krishna to Hindus, the Messiah to Jews, and Maitreya Buddha to Buddhists. He is the World Teacher for all, religious or not, an educator in the broadest sense.
If that doesn’t peg your spiritual discernment meter, you may want to go have it checked.
What I find fascinating is that this Maitreya fellow seems to have a strangely similar "share and save the world" agenda to that of Purpose Driven Pastor Rick Warren with his Global P.E.A.C.E. Plan and also President-elect Barack Obama with his Global Poverty Act and Universal Service Plan – men who apparently have no aversion to working with any or all of the world religions or non-religions to save the planet – which may explain, at least in part, why Warren is scheduled to lead the invocation at Obama’s upcoming inauguration.
Could this be another not-so-subtle sign of solidarity?
But what was really entertaining was seeing Warren recently proclaim the social gospel as “Marxism in Christian clothing” in the Christian Post.
Who does he think he’s kidding?
Now Obama has used so many names over the years; is it possible that “Maitreya” is just another of them? After all, during his campaign for the presidency, was he not repeatedly referred to as the Messiah?
Who knows – maybe that “bright star” will appear in the sky about a week before his swearing-in ceremony.
Or maybe he and Warren are two of Maitreya’s “Masters of Wisdom.” Or maybe they’re just a couple of flunkies that will be shoved aside when the main act arrives. Or maybe they’re all working together behind the scenes to get us into their save the world through social service mindset in preparation for the big coming out party.
Your guess is as good as mine.
Whatever the case, Mike Oppenheimer has an interesting and informative piece on this mysterious “World Teacher” titled, Maitreya the betrayer, posted on his website, Let Us Reason Ministries, along with a host of links to other related subjects that I have no hesitation recommending to my readers – especially in light of this peculiar press release.
Sure, Christmas might well come and go this year without a miraculous star compelling us all to tune in to Maitreya’s big network television debut – but still, I find it hard to believe that these guys would spend so much time and effort preparing for a non-event that would render everyone involved a laughingstock.
Getting people to take them serious after a fabulous faux pas like that might be a little tough to pull off.
But then, I guess Britney Spears did it.
At least nobody’s trying to sell us another frozen gorilla suit in a freezer.
“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” – Matthew 24:24

ReplyDeleteThe Lubavitch movement is the third or fourth largest Orthodox Jewish group. There are about 14 million Jews in the world and of these 200,000 belong to the Lubavitch community. Of these maybe several thousand think Rabbi Schneerson was the messiah.
There are always Jews who think we are living in end times. The thought doesn't affect the larger community.
The circumstances that must be fulfilled around the coming of the messiah are very stringent and are not likely to be complied with. Anyone claiming to be the messiah would find himself in the middle of major controversies. He had better be the messiah or he won't get even a majority of the Jews to agree.
As far as a messiah for the Christian community, Jews would probably say that's their own business.

I was thinking of the new set of problems when the messiah comes basically,
ReplyDeleteThere are many many who still say that Schneerson is the one, he is only hidden now. And that all the requirements were met with him.
But that was not necc. my point. Surely he will be a great leader whom brings all to G-D and fights his battles.
As in here the battle of this already exists, Joyce chooses to attack as NA the Rabbi because he was chosen. Using as excuse mysticism.

So far, Benjamin Cremes' "Maitreya" has a lot of Bigfoot qualities. He's been saying "Maitreya is coming" for years, yet there's nothing to show, except for out of focused photographs. I think he's pulling the wool over the eyes of the New Agers. There's a sucker born every minute.
ReplyDeleteNice, but reconcile this with Zechariah, Chapter 12 -- I believe Zechariah is clearly part of the Jewish scriptures as well as the Christian Bible:
ReplyDeleteBelief in the eventual coming of the mashiach is a basic and fundamental part of traditional Judaism. It is part of Maimonides' 13 Principles of Faith, the minimum requirements of Jewish belief, commonly recited daily as brought above. In the Shemoneh Esrei prayer, recited three times daily, we pray for all of the elements of the coming of the mashiach: ingathering of the exiles, restoration of the Torah-based system of justice, an end to the apostates and heretics, reward for the righteous, rebuilding of Jerusalem, restoration of the kingdom of the descendants of King David, and restoration of Temple service.
Could this not as well be used to help establish one who would turn on one before a recognition of "then they will mourn him whom they pierced"?!
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI recognize no messiah, world, Christian or otherwise than Jesus coming in the clouds of heaven where we meet him in the air. Anything else is a clear fulfillment of 2nd Thessalonians, chapter 2 and 1 John 2:22.

On another note, I did a radio program lately about Richard Falk. I note that Israel recently barred him even though he was the UN's designated representative there. I just read a chapter by the same Richard Falk in the 1977 published WORLD FAITHS AND THE NEW WORLD ORDER published by the Interreligious Peace Colloquium. Theodore Hesburgh was part of the same process as was Maurice Strong and many others. They were clearly part of the process preparing the world for what they hoped would culminate in 1982 and now their new target dates are 2009-2012.
ReplyDeleteConstance
If the New Age leadership puts a one world religion leader on the scene, there is nothing to suggest that the Jewish community with all of its requirements would recognize that individual. There is no way he would fulfill the requirements.
ReplyDeleteNow a politician might come on the scene who brokers a deal between Israel and the Palestinians, and he might get some kind of honor, but that wouldn't give him recognition as the Jewish messiah.
Let's say someone comes on the world scene and says they are Jesus returned. What are the qualifications Christians think he would have to meet? I've never read of any.

I wanted to comment on the many excellant things everyone has posted here but I got a very disturbing email forwarded to me by my "group coach" at church. I am copying my reply minus the article Constance posted about the Share International Press Release.
ReplyDeleteThis looks New Age to me. Sounds similar to Conversations with God by Neale David Walsch and the ReCreation Foundation. http://www.cwg.org/main.php There are very few scriptures and the rest are the words of men.
http://www.theinterviewwithgod.com/ original website with this slide show. Notice at the very end where there is a reference to God being with us always, it shows a very bright, very prominent sun with very pronounced, unnatural looking rays – reference to the sun god?
The companion sight Pathways to Peace http://www.pathways-to-peace.com/ uses the NLT of Luke 1:78-79 which seems a very New Age perversion of the original.
The first scripture is Matthew 5:9 “Blessed are the peace makers” and features a brilliant display of sunlight beaming through some trees. The next is a quote about there being “several paths” to integrity, it goes on to show pictures of many light oriented pieces of photography with very Christian words or ideals like “Joy”, “Kindness”, “Faith – Faith is a strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light – Helen Keller” ( who coincidentally was an occultist), “Courage, This is courage…to bear unflinchingly what heaven sends – Euripides”; “Hope”; “Charity We must not only give what we have; we must also give what we are; “love”; “patience”, “determination”, “gratitude”, “humility”, “forgiveness” and “peace”.
These are very subtle and very clever perversions of Biblical Scripture. The world will not emerge into the light, Jesus is the light. What is heaven sending that we need to bear unflinchingly?(See press release below). Charity, giving what we have and what we are, to whom and what does that mean to give what we are? To give UP what we are perhaps? There’s quotes from enough different people to please just about every type (belief) of person.
Luke 1:78-79 NLT
78 Because of God’s tender mercy,
the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us,[a]
79 to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
and to guide us to the path of peace.”
Luke 1:78-79 Young’s Literal Translation
78Through the tender mercies of our God, In which the rising from on high did look upon us,
79To give light to those sitting in darkness and death-shade, To guide our feet to a way of peace.'
King James Version (KJV)
78Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,
79To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
Notice that the NLT turns the historical event “hath visited us” into a very near future event “is about to break upon us”
This, coupled with the message email title “as we enter into Christmas: Interview with God” and the Wall Street Journal Online – Market Watch press release by Share International about the creation of a new star followed by the appearance of the universal “Messiah” shortly thereafter, tells me that this is a very clever an subtle psychological prepping for this coming “Christmas Miracle” as it was called in Market Watch.

18Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
I will be "caught up" in the clouds with my Lord. It won't be something I can control, nor will I need someone to alert me that "It is Him!" This is the reason for my hope. My Lord knows I am one of his sheep. Praise God! :) I can't wait to be with Him forever.

"We want a united Jerusalem under Israel, with access to the religious sites, to all the three great faiths," he said. Okay, the connections are starting to become more evident between Jewish, Muslim and Christian Mysticism. Some of these connections go back to Spain in the 1200s where there was a lot of philosophical and spiritual interchange between Islamic scholars. ( Islam is always trying to relive it's "golden age" where they were leaders in science and other fields").
ReplyDeleteThe Islamic University mentions Averroism, which was named after a Muslim who was trying to link Islam with Aristotle.
The Islamic University of Rotterdam will have an institute of this kind called:
The Averros Institute for Study of Religions
Here's a bit about Averros:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Averroes
this article describes the influence of Averros on Jewish philosophy, including people like Maimonides.
For those of you who are curious, you can read an excerpt of this online book to find out about the interconnections in that time in history between the Jewish and Muslim and Christian philosophers and Aristotle.
Maimonides was influenced by this thought...that would be Hellenistic thought, which is exactly what the Maccabees in the story of Hanukah, who fought against the Hellenistic invaders, were opposed to.
In fact every time our people go into exile, they necessarily adopt some of the pagan customs of the nations that they are settled in, that would include influence from sufism and Greek philosophy.
Here's the online book:
http://tinyurl.com/9un3wv
I'm not proud of this fact as a Jew. I just want to point out that exile has never been a good thing for Israel.. This is why it is so important that Israel returns to the Land and is a people under Torah, with Yeshua reigning, but God-willing this will happen very soon.
I also want to point out that it is the very kind of reasoning and mysticism that infiltrated Judaism, Christianity and Islam that will be used to help create the false peace...I'm convinced of it. We see it happening before our very eyes.
Beware of people who want the Three Abrahamic religions to peacefully coexist in the Holy City of Jerusalem. This is the same kind of spirit of false peace that I'm addressing.
I will just add that it is interesting that Spain is the place that has been chosen for the Mediterranean Union. . The history of the three religions in this region is very interesting. Of course we know that it did not end well for the Jews with the Inquisition, so if history repeats itself I don't expect things to go well for Jews, or for true believers of the God of Israel.. Commonly referred to as the time of Jacob's trouble.
When they are crying "peace and safety" beware....
Well not totally unrelated to the post about Javier Solana, who is playing a big role in all of this...

The Mystic Christ
Jesus Christ and Mysticism
By Ethan Walker III
Mysticism; Gnosticism the spiritual path of experiencing God directly within one's own self.
The Mystic Christ reveals the life and teachings of Jesus to be an ancient tale of mystic union, salvation, and enlightenment. It is the careful uncovering of a lost treasure of immeasurable value, long buried in the suffocating darkness of conventional orthodoxy on one side, and blind fundamentalist extremism on the other. From the viewpoint of the world’s mystical religious traditions, the brilliant light of Jesus’ way is revealed as a penetrating radical non-duality unifying all people and all of life. The Master’s path to this all-embracing unity is the spiritual practice of pure selfless love. Love God intensely, love our neighbor as our own Self, bless those that curse us, and pray for those that mistreat us. Love has been lost, becoming nothing more than a word in the dictionary and, yet, it remains the foundation of Jesus’ message.

AL-GHAZALI’S INTERPRETATION OF SOME VERSES OF THE NEW TESTAMENT CONCERNING JESUS by Bunyamin Dur
Excerpt
"
The use of the word ‘Son’ for Jesus may be the result of the similarities between Jesus and a good son. A son, who submits to his father and respects him, will be regarded as a lovely son. Jesus was a very good servant and submissive person; as for his obedience, God has named Jesus and other prophets as God’s Son. Actually the title of ‘Son’ originated from the Old Testament. This reality is expressed in the Psalms as follows: ‘As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him’ (Ps 103:13).[7]"
Well we all have our own standards for what is considered a credible source. Some just set lower standards.

Someone asked about the qualifications for the return of Messiah.. I'm not a Christian, but I'll answer for me..
ReplyDelete1. the fulfillment of Ezekiel 37, Israelites begin to return to the Land,
2. Have God's Spirit put in them, visa via faith in Yeshua.
3. the two houses become one again.. i.e. the ten tribes are reunited with the Jews.
4. the apostasy,
5. wars and rumors of war
6. earthquakes.
7. economic distress
8 false messiah who will arise and confirm a plan of peace
9 the false messiah will install a system of buying and selling with "a mark" on the hand of forehead.
10. Signs in the heavens. Possibly meteors and things that will cause great damage on the earth. Possibility that a nuclear war will take place
11. A huge army marching against God's people, possibly a nation like China
12 An alliance between Russia, Iran and Syria against Israel, as well as other nations. We have the beginnings of this today.
12 Great increase in knowledge.
13 People traveling to and fro
14 Many false Messiahs
15 the sun will turn dark, the moon to blood.
16 Yeshua will come in the clouds, and all the tribes will mourn because they will realize who He is.
Also a kingdom will arise worse that all the other kingdoms who were enemies of Israel. Worse than Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome. This kingdom will contain some elements of the Roman Empire but will be a "mixed empire" and it will be crushed ultimately by Messiah.
A false prophet will arise who will preach a religion of Mystery Babylon, another words, the kind of teaching that includes esoteric wisdom that is the variety that Alice Bailey spoke of. In this regard when we think of the Nephilim, we can understand there is actually demon possession which is why it is so important not to open ourselves up to deceitful spirits which run through ALL forms of mysticism including Kabbalah, Sufism, Christian and Eastern Mysticism.
I am speaking of the Mystery Religions which in fact go back to the Garden... Satan always wants people to eat this fruit..
My list is perhaps not all inclusive and not necessarily in chronological order.
This is why I am doing this research on Mysticism to see historically some of its roots. There is no doubt during the period of Second Temple Judaism this stuff was floating around. There were Jewish gnostics and mystics both..not to be confused with the Jews who followed Torah. This is historical fact, so I'm not picking on any one religion..just stating that fact that Judaism had been infiltrated by the surrounding cultures it was mixed with. This could have started in Bablyon..That's a very strong possibility.
There is no doubt that Christianity was also influenced by Aristotle. We know that Augustine was heavily influenced. When Alexander went and conquered, he brought back even more pagan influence to the Greek Empire. This influenced both Jews and the Gentiles in the Greek and Roman Empires.

In response to "my low" standards...Sometimes it's necessary to post things we don't agree with to illustrate something. I am not the first to illustrate from a New Age site.... that does not mean I agree with the site any more than I do Jerusalem Academy.
ReplyDeleteFor some of the more "academic sources" Check out the Jewish scholars who are "mystics"....like this one:
on studies in Ecstatic Kabbalah by Moshe Idel..
a well-known Kabbalist:

Perhaps this is a more "respectable" site.

Moshe is lauded by Yale as a respected scholar, not to mention many other universities, in case anyone has doubts.. The online book I posted is an excellent illustration of what I am talking about. Here are some of his credentials:

FALSE REASONING
ReplyDeleteTo take information from sources that are not credible and say that the information is credible is. to put it bluntly, to act stupidly. I showed where two of the sources you used clearly distort Christianity and three distort Judaism.
I have the book Messianic Mystics by Moshe Idel. Trust me. The book is way over your head. What you probably did was a quick search for something you think supports your position. What would you like to discuss from the book which I have in front of me? As the book is 428 pages of academic writing, explanations might take a bit of time. Please be specific. I'll quote from the book in response.
What makes you say he is a Kabbalist? Don't you know the difference between someone who practices in a field and someone who studies and writes about a field of study from a neutral point of view?
I doubt if you do. You dance on butterfly wings through academic fields of information, never touching the earth.
As for information on what Christians believe are the qualifications necessary to be fulfilled before an individual is accepted as Jesus returned, if you don't mind I would prefer an answer from someone more serious than you are. For obvious reasons I don't trust anything you say. Thanks anyway. I'm sure someone can direct me to a serious website.
I thought I could ignore you, but it's like ignoring an elephant in a small room. An apt metaphor all the way around, but I won't expound on it.

TO ANONYMOUS DOROTHY
ReplyDeleteI RELY ON THE TOME: "BASIC INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE LEAVING EARTH" perhaps better known as "BIBLE" consisting of two parts: "Old Testament" and "New Testament." The part known as "Old Testament" incorporates every last portion of "The Torah" and "The Tanach," the Jewish sacred books.
One thing about God that I have come to learn and know well is that he NEVER contradicts Himself. Deuteronomy 18 is part of THE TORAH. It is clear and specific.
My "undereducated" Christian understanding of the sacred books and what God would have us do apart from that is that he kept things simple -- any confusion is from the one named in Isaiah chapter 14.
The God who is the same to Christians and Jews does not run a society of adepts and masters where one must be "sophisticated" to stay in his will.
Moreover, as a Christian, I believe Jesus the Jewish carpenter and rabbi who said "except ye be as a little child, you shall not enter the Kingdom of God."
So, simple I am, simple I shall with God's help remain.
A few days ago when the Dorothy/Joyce conversion issue was hot I had a night where I pondered on my bed…
ReplyDeleteHow many Jewish people had I ever been able to win to Christ?
Does my life make them thirst for or even jealous of what they see that I have in Jesus?
As painful as the answer was to that, I then put myself in the position of being witnessed to from someone who’s belief system was totally in opposition to mine and I would have to say that I would resist hearing them… why?
BECAUSE I KNOW WHOM I BELIEVE AND AM PERSUADED!!!
Why would a Jewish person think any different? Right?
Why would anyone of deep integrity even LISTEN to what they believe is err?
Thus we’re at a stale-mate.
As Christians it is easier to reason with the Jew because we believe that Jesus is the SAME G_d as the Jew.
Jews on the other hand would consider (Jesus) to be a blasphemous BETRAYAL of their faith in the One True G_d.
I understand that but don’t know what to do about it accept pose this question to ANYONE.
I would like to ask Dorothy in particular and Len if he would be so kind as to participate … because I honestly don’t know.
Q. Can you hear and talk with G_d?
(Can you converse and receive answers to your questions, does He reply when you pray to Him)?
If so, would you consider Asking G_d to reveal HIS truth to you.
I believe HE is the only ONE who can do this properly.
No man would be able to convince me accept my G_d, so I would think it would be the SAME with you also.
Shalom,
Barb
ps SV, I think you are very gracious!
For all those on the blog, who are wondering... Moshe Idel practices Kabbalah too:
ReplyDeletehttp://tinyurl.com/7y4fpc
I encourage all of you to read his book that I've posted online here. The efforts to unite the Civilizations in the Mediterranean basin, are happening on many different levels. I have heard at least one member of the High Level Group talk about the rich history in Spain of Jews, Muslims and Christians. Reading a little of Moshe's book, you can begin to understand a little more about the history of that era.
Don't be intimidated. You don't have to be a Harvard Graduate to understand what Moshe is saying. It is quite clear..
There will be some more information coming on Kabbalah and it's very important connection to the New Age. Anyone who has practiced mysticism, can be forgiven, but only through the shed blood of Yeshua the Messiah..so this requires true repentance, that holds true for other occult activity too. I know a woman who put a kabbalistic curse on someone. She's an Orthodox Jew, and her life is falling apart.
As much as I didn't like Ariel Sharon giving up Gaza, it is well known that when he did this, Kabbalists in Israel put a curse on him. This is called witchcraft and is forbidden in the Bible.
That's only one aspect of Kabbalah and not the only dangerous part by any means.., but when we play with darkness we do receive the consequences of our behavior..
Joyce
Barb,
ReplyDeleteI just want to explain something because there seems to be some confusion here about my motives. I am trying to expose something that I believe is an evil and dangerous activity.. that would be mysticism in general and Kabbalah specifically although I will not limit my conversation to Kabbalah. Dorothy and Len have both heard the gospel and plainly rejected it, so my goal is not to try to "win" anyone now.
What I'm writing here, I'm dead serious about and I know there are Messianics who dabble in this too. The Christian world is dabbling in mysticism at the moment, especially the Emergent Church. That's a huge subject which I don't have time to tackle right now, but maybe someone on the blog should.
I've seen some other things today that convince me this is a significant part of the enemies plan to usher in the NWO and a one world religion.. There is no doubt in mind after what I've seen.
If Dorothy and Len and anyone else chose to ignore this information, that's their business. If they chose to reject Yeshua's salvation, that is also their business, but the subject of the blog is New Age... so we should continue to be engaged in trying to expose it..
There will be some more information coming out, and if you have been paying careful attention to the content of the articles ( I know there's a lot so sorry about that) and if you've been tracking with the whole Jerusalem Academy business you will see that THIS IS the plan of the enemy and we need to be watching very, very careful. At this point I am trying to be a watchman. I'm not sure if the Kabbalists in Israel will get it because they are going to assist the antimessiah with the direction they're going. Hang in for a couple of more posts and trust me.. You will see.
Those of us who are paying careful attention, and know the Scriptures will see this plan unfold and not be taken by fear because we know that Yeshua will be coming soon to the Mt of Olives.
By the way, no one said SV wasn't gracious. . She just doesn't understand where I am coming from, thus her remarks.. I do understand what she is trying to say, but my purpose in writing here is not what she thinks..
I will add one other thing. It is frustrating to have people constantly questioning my motives, rather than reading the contents of the posts which are self explanatory..especially sisters in Messiah.. I understand that SV and you both don't know me personally and as I always say, blogs are very imperfect means of communication...so that has to be discounted when we're reading someone's comments..
Shalom,
Joyce

ReplyDeletethe answer is yes, G-d answers immediately, as to the rest of the question. I was once a christian, and he showed me the truth. So now am a Judaism believing, Noahide, not yet converted, due to location only.

Joyce,
ReplyDeleteI’m a little surprised at your response to me, I do not believe that I am judging your motives – I stated I was just following the blog from a few days ago and responding to that issue back then.
I understand you are discussing something different now!
Yes, I know this is a blog on new age and my comments are usually geared towards that but on occasion an issue comes up and when I feel I have something to say that would contribute I share it. I know you are the same way from what I’ve been observing.
I am not a researcher in the sense as those on this board but I do research. I am not a watchman in the sense as those on this board but I do watch and pray.
I am also well aware of the converging of a one-world religion. I was not following the Jerusalem Academy business but will look into it God willing. Looking forward to future posts.
I admire grace in correction thus my exhort.
Joyce I understand you’re a Jew. How long have you been a Christian? If you don’t mind answering this here.

Barb,
ReplyDeleteExcuse me if I took your comments in the wrong way. Since you brought up the subject of evangelization, I thought you were suggesting that that's what I was doing...that's all. Once again, blogs are not always the best medium of communication...but they do serve a purpose.
Definitely take a look at Jerusalem Academy and Crans Montana Forum..Bjorn Farmer also did an amazing blog on Heinrich Eliyahu Benedikt's book which is in German.. H.E.B. promotes and practices Kabbalah.

YS,
ReplyDeleteThanks for responding to the question I posed to Dorothy and hopefully Len. I believe their situation is different.
Your telling me you WERE a born-again Christian who was shown the truth but since have renounced Jesus Christ? Is that what you are saying here?
I take it you being not fully converted to Judaism/Noahide – “due to location” means you have to live in Israel to be fully converted?? Is that what that means - I’m not sure if I understand your comment here.

Joyce:
ReplyDeleteDo you ever wonder why you are always having to "explain" yourself to people - or possibly why you often feel "misunderstood"?
Yes, you are a wealth of information regarding biblical scripture, and no one here will argue with you on that point.
However, what comes through loudly and clearly is your persona or image as someone who appears arrogant, condescending, with "an air of superiority" toward others on this blog -- as if you were the end all and be all of knowledge and information.
Just my two cents . . .
JOYCE
ReplyDeleteSince you feel the need to analyze what is going on, why don't you start in your own back yard.
I'm reposting what I posted earlier to save you the time looking it up.
------------------
Time to look at the history of what is called Messianic Judaism.
-----------------------------
So Joyce, can you tell us why the Hebrew Christian community decided to change the words they used? Weren't the Christian ones good enough for them? Deception isn't moral.
Then maybe you can go on to explain why the group you affiliate with is charismatic and what that means. I know, but others may not. Here, I'll help you.

And you could explain Sid Roth's support of Todd Bentley
http://tinyurl.com/8qpk6b
I just want to help you to clean up your own back yard before you decide to work over your neighbor's house.
Oh you probably are going to say it doesn't matter what your community is into. If one third of the Messianic communities were founded by Assemblies of God people, then that's a much higher percentage of New Agers in your community than Jews who study Kabbalah.
When I wrote that your community is a New Age community, I didn't document it at that time.
So, Joyce, how are you going to clean up your own backyard? Where are you posting information on the New Age movement and Assemblies of God involvement on a Messianic website. I would really like to see what you have to say about that topic since the Messianic community is where you are really the expert.
Those are really "your people."

BIBLICAL PROOF THAT JESUS WILL RETURN "IN" THE AIR:
ReplyDeleteWhen the disciples therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, “Lord, will you at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?”
And he said unto them, "It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and you shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. "
And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, “Ye men of Galilee, why stand you gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven”. (Acts 1:6-11)
It was made clear to the disciples at this time that Jesus would return in the same way as the disciples had seen him go into heaven, that is a visible return to the earth.

ReplyDeleteConstance wrote:"I would remind all that Hitler looked at people's birth certificates and not their baptismal ones. Composer Felix Mendelssohn's family was of Jewish origin, but were practicing Christians. That did not exempt Mendelssohn's work from Hitler's scorn!"
Hitler considered anyone a Jew within three generations. Felix was just one generation from his Jewish father Moses.
What is more significant is Moses' view of Judaism. He opted to emphasize the ethical and moral laws of Judaism which Jews have largely in commmon with Christians. He de-emphasized the ritual aspects. Though observant himself most, if not all, of his children converted to Christianity.
Why not; considering his views?
Judaism is a system that observes both tablets of the Ten Commandments; not just the second tablet. It is just as important for a Jew to be strictly monotheistic, to observe the seventh day Sabbath, and to avoid taking God's Name in vain, as to avoid violating the ethical and moral commandments. If one does not fear the Law's author he will end up violating the Law in other respects.
Peace and blessing,
Len

ReplyDeletePlease do clarify your stand. Do you want protection for any individuals associated with any way of thinking? Should we stop referring to individuals by name who are New Agers or just people who post here using New Age ideas? Are we to drop names and/or adjectives?
Are we to stop referring to anyone by name or to groups of people also? Should we stop talking about Jews and Christians and Kabalists and New Agers as a group?
Do we stop talking about Erwin Lazlo, Rick Warren and Todd Bentley or Joyce, Len and me in any negative way?
From now on are we to just talk about ideas apart from the human beings who propose or practice them? Nothing about Jews, Christians, Charismatics, etc.?
What I consider more important is why I, a Jew, have to dig up information on the New Age connections of a Christian who voluminously posts here when the place is supposedly full of Christians researching the New Age movement.

ReplyDeleteDear Barb,
You ask: Q. Can you hear and talk with G_d?
(Can you converse and receive answers to your questions, does He reply when you pray to Him)?
If so, would you consider Asking G_d to reveal HIS truth to you.
In the last generation a great rabbi, Joseph Soloveitchik, discussed these questions in a book: “The Lonely Man of Faith.”
http://www.amazon.com/
Lonely-Man-Faith-Joseph-Soloveitchik/dp/0385514085/
ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1230009165&sr=1-1
You can reead a summary on the link but the following is my own brief summary. It does not directly answer your questions but I hope you find it pertinent:
The person of faith is torn by paradox. He lives in the world and boldly enters the fray of every undertaking. He longs for God, desires the tenderness of the communal life, and is humbled in the face of death and reversal.
The person of faith beholds God in every nook and corner of creation, as if God were close at hand, engaging him in a friendly dialogue. Yet the very moment that man turns his face to God he finds God remote, unapproachable, enveloped in transcendence and mystery.
God is everywhere but, at the same time, above and outside of everything.
This paradox cannot be overcome. It is the paradox lived by the greats of old--Adam, Abraham and Elijah (and Christians will undoubtedly add their own figures).
Man attempts to overcome his limitations by entering into a covenantal prayer community. Within the former, prophetic community, God took the initiative and man listened. In the prayer community the initiative belongs to man: he does the speaking and God the listening.
If God has stopped calling man let man call God. The inclusion of others is indispensible. Man should avoid praying for, and by himself alone. (Most Jewish prayers are in the plural).
When disaster strikes, one must not be immersed completely in his own passional destiny, thinking only of himself, and petitioning God merely for himself. The foundation of efficacious and noble prayer is human solidarity and sympathy. If God abandons his transcendental solitude, He wills man to do likewise and to step out of his isolation.
I could say a lot more but I hope this whets your appetite to look at the original.
May you be blessed.
Len
Barb,
ReplyDeleteYou are probably right about "back then". I tend to naturally share my faith as much as I possibly can, but there comes a time as Yeshua said, when you kick the dust off your feet...and leave. I'm not leaving because there are other things I have to talk about here.
Someone I know and love dearly heard the gospel and many years later had a miraculous revelation of this truth, without a human being present. This person was quite hardened and not at all interested in Yeshua.. When He puts His hand on someone's life...He doesn't need our help.. Look at Paul on the road to Damascus.
Blessings to you,
Joyce
SV,
ReplyDeleteNo problem. Thanks for writing.

ReplyDeleteLen's answer reminded me I also wanted to comment. I'm not as deep as Len, so my answer will be simpler.
I recognize I have no comprehension of the totality of God. Although the opportunity was there, I never had need to incapsulate God in a human body. For me it never worked. I know the theology, but for me it never worked.
I've learned to listen to God's advice. I use prayer to worship God and remind me of my place in his universe. I've learned not to pray for things and let his will be done. When I've asked for things, there's a glitch.
For instance, being a widow I asked God to send someone into my life that I could love and who would love me. Well, God did the best he could under the circumstances. My sons and I brought a lovable little poodle from a shelter. Boy does that little guy love me and everyone.
Over the years this kind of thing has happened more than once, so I've learned to just let God decide what best for me until I forget and try again. I'll ask God to help others, but I have no idea if what happens comes as a result of my prayer.
Dorothy
Dear Dorothy,

ReplyDeleteDear Barb,
As a postscript, prayer has three principle functions; to declare God's blessedness, to give thanks, and to ask for something.
In Judaism prayers only for the first two purposes are said on the Sabbath becauuse that day is a m odel of the messianic era when all our needs are satisfied nd nothing is lacking.
The common stereotype is just the last purpose, petition; as if God is a celestial Butler who exists solely to satisfy our wants.
The truly religious person is concerned not just what he wants from God but also with what God expects of him.
The first commandment begins with a statement of fact: "I am the Lord your God who took you out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage." (Exod. 20:2) It is only after this reminder of our history, what God did for us, that He tells us what we must do for Him: "You shall have no other gods besides Me," (Exod. 20:3) and so on.
Peace and blessing,
Len

ReplyDeleteOne more thing about prayer!
In Judaism prayer has replaced sacrifice which could be performed only in the Jerusalem Temple according to the Bible.
The Hebrew word for offering is "korbon." The root of this word, "KRV - kiruv," means "to draw close." So the purpose of korbonot (plural) is to bring the offerer closer to God. In view of this, sacrifices may be considered to be for the benefit NOT of God, who certainly doesn’t need them, but for the human.
This is an analogous view to that of prayer. God doesn’t benefit when we testify that He is Blessed; we do. The Hebrew word for prayer is, l’hit-palayl, which is in the reflexive form. Prayer is considered as an operation on *oneself*.
As for many other commandments, prayer and sacrifice were partly for the purpose of increasing awareness in the individual. This comparison is significant because prayer has replaced sacrifice in Judaism, and most of the services are at the same time as, and in remembrance of, corresponding sacrificial services.
Peace and blessing,
Len
Dear Len,
ReplyDeleteHow is Heaven defined in Judaism?
Does it primarily involve seeing God "face to face?"
I am thinking here of Moses who wanted to see God but was only allowed to see God's "back parts" because, as God told Moses, "Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. (Exodus 33:20)
Why? Is it that no one would WANT to live here in this world after seeing God?
Dorothy,
ReplyDeleteYour response was more than I could of ever expected. Thank you for sharing from your heart. I too cannot grasp the totality of God – He is second to none.
But I do know He wants to have relationship with us. Creator to creation, Father to daughter, Master to servant, Spirit to spirit I could go on and on.
Prayer is the lifeline to the Almighty, prayer is the fragrant incense that fills the throne room, prayer is the worship – YES!
To bring everything to Him, your petitions, supplications, cries, tears, questions, thanks, etc… on behalf of others and yourself is what it’s all about, I believe we are commanded to do this.
Sometimes, like you said, you don’t know what results are because of your prayer, but then there are times when you definitely do know that God answered your prayers specifically.
I believe He delights in this, the same as when He communed with Adam in the cool of the garden, He too, desires our relationship.
Thanks again for taking the time to respond, I pray you will seek Him even the more earnestly in the future and be even more blessed.
Shalom,
Barb
sorry for the long delay.
Dear Len,
ReplyDeleteHow I appreciate you responding to my post. Thank you for taking the time.
Maybe Rabbi S. is too deep for me, because some things that he says make me sad.
Like this statement ”Yet the very moment that man turns his face to God he finds God remote, unapproachable, enveloped in transcendence and mystery.”
To me when the heavens are like brass I know it is time to really search my heart for hidden sin and confess it.
And God who is compassionate and gracious always opens the window and pours out a blessing.
or this one “Man should avoid praying for, and by himself alone. (Most Jewish prayers are in the plural)”.
There’s need of both kinds of prayer (personal & plural)and I wouldn’t throw one out over the other. Consider David the Psalmist often this man cried out to God from his heart on behalf of himself. Plural prayer is similar to what would be called intercession. I identify most with your last paragraph’s summary in your first post.
I just happened over to the blog and noticed your third post (1:49) on prayer and WOW that was outstanding and informative. I know it wouldn’t be kosher but I would love to send you the homemade Christmas card I’ve been working on just because it is about God and prayer.
I haven’t as yet but will consider checking the link you suggested from Rabbi Joseph S. book.
Thanks again for all your input it was warmly received and I pray that you also will have God’s revelations revealed with undeniable accuracy.
Shalom,
Barb
sorry about the delay

ReplyDeleteRegarding prayer. Len sees things from the authentic way of Judaism. But every Jew doesn't follow rules of Judaism. No surprise. In the Christian community there is a wide range from Christmas and Easter Christians to those who go to services or mass every day.
I've made the comment to criticism that at one end of the spectrum individuals believe whatever one does is enough. This is based on the idea that people once a person starts practicing religious rituals they will be driven to do more.
At the other end I think Orthodox Jews believe whatever one does in the way or prayer, etc., there is always more to do because whatever one does is not enough.

I'm writing this to clarify that while prayer is done in a group, blessings, a form of prayer, are often done when no one else is around. Remember in Fiddler on the Roof when Tevia said there is a blessing for everything, this is what he was referring to. There is a blessing before and after meals, there is even a blessing for new clothes. Orthodox Jews believe one must say a number of blessings every day. Not being raised this way, I could never keep up.

Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn't really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That's because they were able to connect experiences they've had and synthesize new things.
