Not to belabor the Maitreya interview, but in Creme's book The Awakening of Humanity (looked it up at Barnes&Noble on-line, wouldn't spend the $5.40 to buy it lol), in an excerpt he states the initial interview will in turn make ALL the networks want to interview him (which could apparently take some more time). After the unspecified amount of interviews happen and "when enough people are following his ideas and advice this Day of Declaration will happen.
Yes David, Creme rambles on and on, and on. Re: star sign - didn't he say it was a spaceship at some point? Now it's back to a star.
God's holding things back long enough for all of us to get warned. I saw a huge Detroit audience literally hypnotized by Benjamin Creme, YET, his "Maitreya?Betraya? could'nt come out and play via a newly channeled message with Benjamin Creme with one Christian in the room audibly saying the Lord's prayer!
Thank you for that perspective. Just to avoid any confusion, the 7:35pm post was written by me, not omots - I was just agreeing with another post he had written. Sorry for any confusion.
What are your thoughts on virtually participating in the March for Life? American United for Life is promoting virtual participation you register with their website "And then you create a digital image of yourself," he adds. "It puts you on a Google Earth map of the National Mall. It also puts you on a national map of the United States, which will break down by congressional districts so that your congressman can actually see, or your senator can actually see how many people in their district or in their state are part of this Virtual March for Life."
Quote from http://www.onenewsnow.com/Culture/Default.aspx?id=862224
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says hegemonic powers wage wars under different pretexts to take over other countries’ natural resources.
Ahmadinejad, in a meeting with Guyana’s President Bharrat Jagdeo in Tehran on Wednesday, said that there are certain powers that are seeking to gain control of natural resources in the Middle East by waging wars in the region under the pretext of “freedom, human rights and fight against terror.”
“If countries avoid seeking things beyond their rights and relations among countries are established based on justice, peace will be established in the world,” Fars news agency quoted Ahmadinejad as saying.
He also called for expansion of ties between Iran and Guyana.
Jagdeo, for his part, urged strong ties between the two countries, noting that Western powers are trying to dominate other nations through media propaganda and their plot should be confronted using organized measures.
From watching the B.Creme video from the last thread, his eyes look exactly like eyes I've seen too many times before; glazed and kind of yellowish. Some of my best friends are alcoholics. Sad to say, I think the only spirits he's channeling are the garden variety spirits of whiskey, etc. _Not to mention his speech. The grandiosity is also characteristic. Just my opinion/guess
I took a look through the link you posted and I have to say I have mixed feelings. I wouldn't as much compare this with creating an avatar, as I would simply creating a digital identity for a cause. An avatar can be created in a forum where many views of the world are represented. This can become an issue as by supporting such a forum, you (even if inadvertantly) promote even the ideas and beliefs which you may not hold yourself. This is very similar to giving to charities. If you found out your money you were giving to a charity went to support things which you had objections to, would you continue to support said charity?
Forums however don't take money from their participants, they rely on ad revenue. Which is determined by ad companies who usually spend where there is a high number of participants. So your participation in said forum becomes your support. So the question then becomes, do you support everything represented within a particular forum? Charities are the same way. As with this one, do you fully support everything March of Life represents? Do you know where every dime given to them goes? Do you support all of the places where your donation or participation may end up? Because if there is a single thing any particular group represents with which you don't agree, your association with that group gives support to these things. Any time there is a collective of people one must look at what the leadership of the group represents. As manipulation is usualy not far behind.
SHOULD WE ORDINARY PEOPLE BE CONCERNED ABOUT OUR MONEY IN THE BANK? ___________________________________
From the Financial Times (01/22/10)
The global banking industry was thrown into turmoil on Thursday after President Barack Obama, responding to public rage over the financial crisis, proposed the most far-reaching overhaul of Wall Street since the 1930s.
In reforms that could force the restructuring of some of the biggest names in US finance, including JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs, Mr Obama promised that “never again will the American taxpayer be held hostage by a bank that is too big to fail”.
I seriously doubt Obama could pull it off. These banks are bigger than him. They have ways to persuade people in Congress. Republicans and Democrats. Some of these Congress people have elections to try and win. I would have a better chance to change the rotation of the Earth.
However, we all should worry about our money, regardless of what Obama tries to do. We are still on shaky ground financially. Is it still safer that burying your money in a hole in the ground? I don't know. Besides, banks love your money.
Today the Glenn Beck show promises a stunning series of truths about the totalitarian systems of the past and how the "progressives" of today are linked to the past history of these groups.
Revolutionary Holocaust airs Friday, January 22 at 5p ET on the Fox News Channel...
A groundbreaking hour long special where Glenn Beck takes us back in time to examine the roots of socialism and communism and the evil that followed. We all know about the horrors of the holocaust where the pure evil Hitler inspired claimed the lives of millions of innocent people. But most do not know about the millions upon millions of lives lost in a different genocide of the Ukrainian people under the Stalin regime. This special also takes a look behind the iconic fashion symbol of Che Guevara showing that the myth doesn't tell the story of the man who was a blood thirsty killer. We meet a family who saw first hand what a monster the man was. They know the cost of communism and you will too when you hear their story, and who can forget about Mao Zedong? A leader responsible for 70-million deaths during his reign. All communist. All killers. We will show you things you've never seen but need to. (more at the link)
He has said on his show that young children should not be around when the show is aired. I would recommend that you record the show.
Obama may not be able to get away with this on his own, but he can with help, and that he has plenty of. We are in the middle of an attempt to completely restructure our financial system. This latest news is only a fraction of the attempt. Healthcare reform was a big cog in the machine and while that part of it has been put on hold, it is far from over. The SCOTUS ruling on corporate donations to campiagns will most likely have a major impact on the restructuring, as it is some of the biggest companies in the world pushing for the restructure. I wouldn't celebrate Brown's victory too much yet, as it simply means the way they will attempt to change the system will be different. We are in very deep trouble, Brown's victory didn't change this one bit, as the effort is coming from both sides of the aisle. To top that off, if you took a moment and named the ten biggest producers of capital growth in the nation, I most likely could connect 8 out of 10 with this attempt. We have been duped, and Walmart, Microsoft, IBM, the healthcare industry, and multiple levels of our government both Republican and Democrat have been willing accomplices. If you want validation of my claims, either email me at the address provided in my profile, or for that matter you can call me if you still have my number and I will be more than happy to explain and provide evidence of my claims here. Or if you would like I can call you, as I do still have your number.
I have sent more info to your gmail which both substantiates and in a way explains the project Susanna and I have been working on. It covers RFID, and how it will be implemented and why. I can't stress enough, YOU NEED TO SEE THIS.
Until I see such an over-haul of Wall Street become more of a reality, I will remain skeptical. I'm quite surprized that health care reform has seemed to fizzle. I thought it was a sure thing. Not because of any real health care benefit, but due to what is hidden in the "transparency."
Wall street will most probably be next. However I doubt it will be the type of overhaul needed. The over haul that is coming will in all honesty probably benefit the globalists and shut down those few left who are attempting to make an honest go. I too am suprised the healthcare situation fell apart, but I know for a fact we haven't seen the end of this issue. If you would like more information, the offer still stands.
Some are asking how could Obama reorg, for example, JP Morgan... JP Morgan IS AMERICA from a financial perspective and is a central driver in making these kinds of changes happen. Head of treasury talks with JP Morgan several times a day -- many times more than to Congress.
What we have to understand is that Obama is the puppet NOT the one behind the screen pulling the strings.
Even if healthcare and cap and trade don't get passed, I believe those are likely the frosting on the cake -- it's all the other things going on behind the scenes that we are distracted from or know nothing about that are the most critical issues. e.g., Presidential control of National Guard, National Police Force, etc.
They know that eventually there will be so much disruption (rioting, terrorism, etc.) that they'll establish Martial Law and all the rest won't matter anyway.
Actually you're partly right. Obama could not get a bank like Goldman Sachs or JP Morgan to restructure through smooth talk. They could spend enough money and stall the issue all while funding his next opponent. However, Obama could get any of these guys to restructure if they had something to gain from it. Better yet, what if they were asking him to restructure the system? I know this sounds far fetched, but from the evidence I have seen that appears to be what is happening.
There have been numerous emails sent that I am not sure if you have seen. For the purpose of time, it may benefit you to start with the last two and work back through. The information is VAST. We have attempted to be thorough in this investigation, but I must confess what I have sent thus far is seriously lacking order.
a friend asked this question and i'd like to run it by all of you wise people who i've come to respect...if the midpoint is coming up in 2010 wouldn't the two witnesses have already appeared on the scene? don't they witness for 1260 days leading up to the midpoint?
Deu 4:26 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.
And some people have speculated that it also can be the Old and New Testaments.
I still think it will be two people, almost assuredly men, who will prophecy. But we don't know that they aren't out there now but are not coming out and saying "I'm one of the two end-time witnesses". Although many have claimed to be.
The Bible can be taken first in the natural (literal) and in the spiritual so I think there are two people as well as the other aforementioned things being true.
1Co 15:46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
Anon 12:42, you talked about the speculation of the two witnesses possibly being heaven and earth, or the old and new testament. However, are not the two witnesses killed and left in the street for all the world to see for a period of time also? I don't think heaven and earth could be left dead in the street. I suppose the old and new testaments could be burned in the street, but I think that would be a stretch to make it fit into the idea of death as the paper and ink are really mere representations of what is surely also written in heaven. So, it would surely stand to reason, then, that the two witnesses are two actual persons.
What if the two witnesses mentioned were Jewish witnesses calling on Israel to repent? This is a link I check on every now and then... find their testimony of seeking repentence true
What makes the NAM and those builders of global government so difficult to track is the elaborate shell game they do. It's hard for me to figure out if the recent "failures" of Obama and the Dems are truly failures or completely staged. I agree with Dave in CA.
JD, I would love to see all the information you mentioned. I'm more interested in your current project. Send me everything you have. My wife and I are putting in a new toilet today, so I'll be quite busy today.
I don't know what to make of the website of Daniel or whatever it is. Are these people autistic? It would be pretty cool if the two witnesses were autistic. I'm not sure if what they're saying is Biblical or New age in some way.
My thought is that JPMorgan (and friends) is driving Obama (as well as key elements of the New World agenda as it relates to the US), not the other way around. He's the water boy for the changes... He's told what to do as were Bush, Clinton, etc.
Your getting warmer. JP Morgan as well as Goldman Sachs, Citi Group, as well as several Fortune 500 companies are definitely involved. All of it is traceable back to the UN though. That has been one of the problems I am confronting with trying to get this presentable, its TOO BIG! To understand it to its fullest capacity you have to see all of the players and the moves they are making, and it is really hard to condense down so much pertinent info. I just finnished one partial path through a section and sent it to Davidinbc, which I plan to revamp and send to a few more people, but it took me a couple hours to prepare and all I covered was the who, what, why, where, and how, of one agreement. I now have a much, much deeper appreciation for what Constance does here.
This is a rather complicated issue. As you know, Sarah Palin refused to abort her autistic child even though she was encouraged to do so.
Even now they still are studying the cause of autism.
Because the Orthodox do not abort their children and yet want to involve them in the community, there has been interest in understanding the autistic. http://www.ou.org/index.php/jewish_action/article/64277/ http://tinyurl.com/ybwqsws
http://www.jstor.org/pss/640716 I'm not able to copy the abstract, but read it to get background.
http://tinyurl.com/y9ulncu Impairment can range from mild to severe. However, the genetic payoff for this ‘disability’ is the ‘ability’ to perceive the world logically, cleverly and imaginatively. This is the high functioning side of AS, that is associated with high Intelligence Quotient (IQ).
At the University of Cambridge, Scientists have discovered 27 Genes associated with Asperger Syndrome, ‘New Genetic Study Of Asperger Syndrome, Autistic Traits And Empathy’ (Medical News Today). As you can see, ‘the research found that single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in 27 out of the 68 genes were nominally associated with either AS and/or with autistic traits/empathy.’ (The Hub is just a publishing site. Although the article is about Jews, I haven't researched the background.)
In the same way some autistic individuals are savants, the father of one of them believes his son is capable of communicating deeper beliefs through facilitated communication. The core belief here is that intelligence resides in the soul and not in the brain, and that the son is communicating from his soul even though his brain may be defective.
I read many of the links on the page. This is a line of thinking that is found in parts of the Orthodox Jewish community. Keep in mind that there are many different groups of Orthodox and each may have offshoots of the main ideas.
Since the child was raised in an Orthodox home, he probably absorbed the ideas of the parents and may be feeding the thoughts back to the father in a way we still don't understand as we really don't understand autism. That he is confirming the father's beliefs makes the father happy. You can note that the way of speaking and ideas only support beliefs. There is no factual information presented or ideas that are in opposition to the father's beliefs.
Google has a nice feature that posts related article under the heading Google Scholar. These are related article. http://tinyurl.com/yb5xbv3
The one just above about the Orthodox community came from me. Forgot to sign it.
I hope all of you watched Glenn Beck's show. Anyone reading here should have seen how the information tied into the political end of the New Age movement and how far back the plans were set in motion, how they failed, and how they are being tried again.

You have mail! Dorothy, I tried to implement your suggestions. Along with the relative info you have an opening description, as well as overviews. I hope this is easier to digest, I tried to make it flow.
JD, you are right, the information is VAST and I who went to law school because it required NO MATH am making my way through it, downloading and archiving links.
If you would consider writing a guest column about it, I would be honored to 0post it.
Obama, Bush & Clinton are all 'puppets' of the New World Order...and are all 'on the same page' as far as the long term NWO goal/agenda. They just apply different paths or methods of getting us there.
The NWO just wants to divide and conquer US (the masses)...any way they can.
I am flattered by your offer, which I will gladly accept. I am not sure how far you are into all of what was sent or if you saw the more presentable piece I sent aside from the compiled information. I am going to send you an email with my phone number so if you would like to discuss the material a little more freely it is possible.
Anon 11:55PM, Anon 12:42AM, Brian G., and Anon. 8:07AM, The two witnesses are identified; please read: Mal. 4:4-5 (last two men mentioned in the OT in connection with the Second Advent); Matt. 16:28-17:5 and 2 Pet. 1:16-18 (both men appeared with Jesus Christ on the Mount of Transfiguration); Num. 16:28-35 and 2 Kings 1:10-14 (both destroyed their enemies by fire when they spoke); James 5:17 (one stopped the rain for 3 and 1/2 years); Exod. 7:20 (one turned water to blood); Exod. 8-10 (one called down plagues on Pharaoh [a type of the "Antichrist"]); and Exod. 33:20-23 and 1 Kings 17:1 (both are said to have stood "before the God of the earth"). While I deem the possibility of Elijah coming back as one of the two witnesses, Moses, since he died a physical death, cannot be the other as that would mean he would be reincarnated.
Just got through watching Glenn Beck's documentary. It was very good. Because I have been watching/studying the NAM, I was able to see it through the history (as Dorothy suggested). Beck himself didn't go into the NAM at all.
You could also see so many ties with everything going on now in our government.
TV shows used to promote RFID medical chips!! I was watching Scrubs (one of my favorite shows). They showed them scanning (like with a bar code gun) a patient's hand. It was a very quick scene.
Then older doctor went on a rant that started with, "Scanning a patient to find out about them, I remember the days..." then it went into a monologue about things he liked in the good old days of doctoring. By the end most would have probably would have forgotten the whole scanning someone's hand thing.
omots, Since most people know very little about the Orthodox community, I thought I would provide background for the other post. The articles I posted do not provide support for FC. Like most people, the Orthodox involved are showing faith in something that can't be proven scientifically.
Anonymous 7:54, Thanks for the correction. According to some sources McCain may have remembered incorrectly the information he was given. http://tinyurl.com/yesndpm
Don't know if I agree with either of your interpretations, BUT Moses appeared with Elijah on the mount as witnessed by the apostles with Jesus While there is not reincarnation, there is RESURRECTION
i wasn't really wondering about who the 2 witnesses are but rather where they are if we are indeed where we think we are on this crazy prophecy timeline.
I'm reading something that has me totally overwhelmed. I'll try to comment on it tomorrow -- maybe an article on it tomorrow. Sorry I can't do more tonight. Past time for bed and I'm completely overwhelmed at what I am reading on my Kindle edition and its implications.
Mrs. Cumbey and Craig, Lazarus was resurrected from the dead by Jesus Christ (John 12:1). Lazuras later died. Will Lazuras again be resurrected in glory? To my first point, consider also Deut. 34:6 and Jude 1:9. Bro. Jeff
Army’s New PTSD Treatments: Yoga, Reiki, ‘Bioenergy’
By Noah Shachtman
The military is scrambling for new ways to treat the brain injuries and post-traumatic stress of troops returning home from war. And every kind of therapy — no matter how far outside the accepted medical form — is being considered. The Army just unveiled a $4 million program to investigate everything from "spiritual ministry, transcendental meditation, [and] yoga" to "bioenergies such as Qi gong, Reiki, [and] distant healing" to mend the psyches of wounded troops.
As many as 17 percent of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans have some form of post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, one congressional study estimates. Nearly 3,300 troops have suffered traumatic brain injury, or TBI, according to statistics assembled last summer. And the lifetime costs of treating these ailments could pile up to as much as $35 billion, a Columbia University report guesses.
Small wonder, then, that the government is looking for alternate means to treat these injuries. The Defense Department "is dedicated to supporting evidence-based approaches to medical treatment and wants to support the use of alternative therapies if they are proven efficacious," notes a recently-issued request for proposals.
But many of these treatments haven’t been held up to much rigorous scientific scrutiny before. So the Army is looking to hand out $4 million in "seedling grants" to "conduc[t] rigorous clinical studies" into all sorts of "novel approaches." Projects "containing preliminary data" will be eligible for up to $1 million. But even "innovative but testable hypotheses without preliminary data" could get as much as $300,000. Proposals are due May 15.
"Music, animal-facilitated therapy, art, dance/movement, massage therapy, EMDR [Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing] program evaluation, virtual reality, acupuncture, spiritual ministry, transcendental meditation, [and] yoga," might all be considered worth of the military’s largess. So would "biologically-based treatments, botanicals, and nutritional supplements for enhancing cognitive function and mood in patients with trauma spectrum disorders, including
TBI and/or PTSD, depression, anxiety, and/or substance dependence/abuse." Even proposals for wild-sounding "therapies using bioenergies such as Qi gong, Reiki, distant healing and acupuncture" would be accepted.
The program also wants to investigate the "perceptions" of these treatments, and any "gender-specific implications and issues" involved. All "proposals must provide a clear justification and military relevance for the choice of therapies selected," the Army reminds grant applicants.
This isn’t the first time the military has investigated these sorts of nontraditional approaches. The semi-legendary "First Earth Battalion," immortalized in The Men Who Stare at Goats, advocated that soldiers utilize everything from "yogic cat stretch[es]" to "Ginseng tab regulator[s]" to "amphetamines." A 1973 RAND Corporation study, put together for Darpa, lamented Soviet advances over the American military in everything from yoga to telekinesis. More recently, Rep. Pete Visclosky, D-Ind., inserted $2 million into last year’s defense budget bill for "research into the effects of prayer." Darpa has invested millions into natural dietary supplements. Troops — even flag-level officers — have been known to do yoga on their own.
And while some of these techniques seem way out there — I mean way, way out there — others may have a more practical effect on psychiatric health. Yoga, for instance, has been shown to improve the mood of psychiatric inpatients and reduce so-called "stress hormones" like cortisol. After promising early results, planning is underway for a major study into the effects of yoga on the treatment of schizophrenia. Full disclosure: The doctor running that study is my wife, Elizabeth. But she’s not planning to take any Army money.

You make a good point. Yes, of course Lazarus will be resurrected in his glorified body [1 Corinthians 15:42-43, 52-53] in the future.
Given that Jesus Christ was the first to return in a Resurrected body [post-Ascension], then Moses and Elijah could not have been in their glorified bodies in the Transfiguration as per the Corinthian passages I reference above since this is a yet future event.
So, then, your stance on the two witnesses seems to be given creedence by the fact that Moses' grave cannot be found (Deut 34:6) yet the preceding verse indicates Moses did, in fact die (Deut 34:5).
The Jude 1:9 verse really does not define what the dispute regarding the body of Moses was really about; however, I must say you gave me pause and I DID learn something from this. :-)
But, do you think it possible that Moses could be "resurrected" a la Lazarus? If so, then anyone could be "raised from the dead" no matter how long the passage of time from their physical death.
Interestingly, I saw another similar account about two years ago when I was researching an article. I still have the link (the article was never completed as it was the 4th part of a series I dropped at part 3); but, the link no longer works.
Good information. I am looking at a seperate issue which I thought I might be able to dig a little deeper into through this line. While I didn't find what I was specificly looking for thus far, I did come across something interesting.
New Virtual PTSD Treatment
Army Uses Virtual Tool in its Battle with PTSD
FORT LEWIS, Wash. (Army News Service, March 23, 2007) - The Humvee rumbles down the narrow desert road. To the left and right there is nothing but an expanse of beige sand, with an occasional palm tree sprinkled here and there.
Looking up through the gunner's hatch, the sky is blue and cloudless. It seems like a normal day - until the attack begins.
The ground trembles underfoot while the sound of gunfire and explosions pierce the air. The Humvee in front blows up, leaving a blackened shell in the road. A Black Hawk roars overhead. The only thing to do is keep driving and not panic. Finally, the sounds of battle cease, and all returns to normal again.
The scenario may sound terrifying, but there is no need to fear. It's not reality - it's virtual reality. And it is part of a new therapy for combat related Post Traumatic Stress Disorder - PTSD - being fine-tuned at Madigan Army Medical Center.
Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Overview
"PTSD occurs after an individual is subjected to, or witnesses, what they perceive as a life threatening event," explained Capt. Greg Reger, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist for 62nd Medical Brigade.
There are basically three clusters of symptoms that coincide with PTSD: re-experiencing, which could include nightmares or flashbacks; avoidance, when the patient avoids cues or reminders of the event; and hyperarousal or numbing, which could include hypervigilance or suspiciousness.
"These symptoms happen at least one month after the traumatic event and significantly interfere with (the Soldiers') work or their relationships," Reger noted.
PTSD causes humans to associate cues in the environment - that were previously normal - with life-threatening events. If a Soldier was in a convoy that was attacked in Iraq, the Soldier might associate that event with driving on I-5, causing that person's body to respond as if that were a life-threatening situation, even though it is nothing more than the daily commute.
Currently, the standard treatments for PTSD are exposure therapies. Reger uses the analogy of a child who fears dogs after being bitten to explain how the therapy works. The best way to diminish the child's fear is to slowly and progressively habituate the child to being around dogs again. The child might start by thinking about being around a dog and eventually work up to petting one, until the child is comfortable around dogs again.
"That ... is essentially what PTSD exposure-based therapies are about," Reger said.
However, exposure therapies can be difficult for combat-related PTSD, because Soldiers cannot be re-exposed to combat as part of therapy, Reger said. Previously, Soldiers had to rely on recalling memories of combat as part of their PTSD treatment, which can be very difficult and painful, he went on. That is where the new technology comes in.
"Virtual reality allows us a means of delivering these potentially traumatic-event experiences to Soldiers that was previously not possible," Reger said. "It's a technological tool to improve our already gold standard of care with exposure therapy."
Inside the virtual-reality helmet, the patient is afforded a 360-degree view of two scenarios, a convoy through the desert or a foot patrol through a city. A video-game-style handset controls movement through the scene. Beneath the platform on which the patient sits or stands, speakers provide the rumbling sensation of the convoy and the attack. The scenario can be altered to fit the Soldier's experience. It can be a sunny day, dusk or night. It can even be turned to the green tones of night vision, if that is what the Soldier recalls.
Eventually, the technology may include a system that delivers scents like burning rubber or Iraqi spices that could trigger memories for the Soldier. It is also designed to be able to monitor physical reactions like heart rates, which will help the clinician track the Soldier's reaction to the therapy, Reger explained.
MAMC is the only Army medical center testing this particular virtual reality technology.
"Here at Fort Lewis, we have the only Army Behavioral Health Technology Office, which is designed to explore and develop a range of new technologies for Army Behavioral Health," said Col. Gregory Gahm, Ph.D., chief of the department of psychology. "Virtual reality is one of those."
Currently at MAMC, the research team, which consists of Gahm, Reger and Robert Swanson, Ph.D., research and post-doctoral psychologist, is gathering feedback from Soldiers who have deployed in the last year and are not exhibiting symptoms of PTSD. The goal is to get feedback from 300 Soldiers to make the technology as realistic and functional as possible. The team hopes to have virtual reality available as a treatment option by this summer.
The virtual-reality research project has been a collaboration of many organizations.
The original research for the technology was done by Dr. Albert Rizzo at the Institutes for Creative Technologies, University of Southern California, and funded by the Office of Naval Research. The research to fine-tune the technology is being funded by Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center.

So in a nut shell, not only are the Army experimenting with vitual reality and different forms of brain machine interfaces. But they are using wounded soldiers as guinea pigs to do so.
What I was looking for is definitely included. Which was a specific type of medication. However it is used in conjunction with the types of programs you were refering to. The program is called Evolution, and the Army admits its holistic at its core.
Comprehensive PTSD Treatment Program July 01, 2009 Military Health System
New PTSD Program Answers Need for Comprehensive Treatment
Symptoms of combat stress and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) include continual nightmares, avoidance behaviors, denial, grief, anger and fear.
Some soldiers, battling these and other symptoms, can be treated successfully as an outpatient while assuming their normal duties. For others, however, returning to work and becoming their old selves again were challenges recognized by several mental health professionals across the European theater.
“We were looking at how we can best meet the needs of our clientele, and we were identifying that a lot of the soldiers needed more than once a week outpatient, individual therapy and probably needed more than once or twice a week group therapy,” said Joseph Pehm, chief of Medical Social Work at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC).
The solution came in the creation of an intensive eight-week therapeutic post-traumatic stress disorder Day treatment program called “evolution” that began in March 2009 at LRMC. During the eight-hour days, patients enrolled in the program participate in multiple disciplines and interests, including art therapy, yoga and meditation classes, substance abuse groups, anger and grief management, tobacco cessation, pain management and multiple PTSD evidence-based practice protocols.
“I am a great believer in the kitchen sink, meaning I throw everything, including the kitchen sink, and something will stick,” said Dr. Daphne Brown, chief of the Division of Behavioral Health at LRMC. “And so we’ve come with all the evidence-based treatment for PTSD that we know about … We’ve taken everything that we can think of that will be of use in redirecting symptoms for these folks and put it into an eight-week program.”
Brown, Pehm and Sharon Stewart, a Red Cross volunteer who recently received a Psy.D. in psychology, said the program is designed from research into the effects of traumatic experience and mirrors successful PTSD programs at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as programs run by psychologists in the U.S.
“We are building on the groundbreaking work that some of our peers and colleagues have done and just expanding it out,” said Brown.
During treatment, patients begin the day with a community meeting where they discuss how well they feel and any additional issues or concerns since their last meeting. The remainder of the day depends on the curriculum scheduled for that week.
The first few weeks focus on learning basic coping skills such as how to reduce anxiety and fight fear, as well as yoga and meditation for relaxation. Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based practice for treating PTSD, is also conducted during the early phases of the treatment program.
“The concept behind EMDR is that, essentially, memories become fixed in one part of our brain and they maintain their power and control over our emotions as long as they are fixed there,” said Brown. “And if we can activate a different part of the brain while we’re experiencing that memory, we can help to remove some of that emotional valence from it. So we use physiological maneuvers to activate both sides of the brain.”
The goal at the beginning of the PTSD program is to provide patients with a number of tools they can use to help them calm down when feeling overwhelmed, especially before more intense therapy begins in the latter weeks. Cognitive processing therapy is used throughout the program. EMDR and prolonged exposure therapy are also available on an individual basis at the soldier’s request. All three techniques are research-based treatments.
When life-changing events occur, Brown said perceptions about the world may change. For example, before soldiers experience combat trauma they may think the world is safe. Following combat, a soldier’s perceptions may change – a majority of the world may now seem unsafe. Cognitive processing therapy attempts to readdress experiences and reshift a soldier’s perceptions.
Prolonged exposure therapy is behaviorally based and addresses a soldier’s fears, which are seen as reflex reactions to a stimulus. To decondition the reactions, a patient is continually exposed to the stimulus by retelling the story repeatedly, minus the negative outcome. Brown compared it to riding a roller coaster over and over again to overcome a fear of roller coasters.
“So they’re getting EMDR, they’re getting cognitive processing therapy, they’re getting individual therapy, they’re getting group therapy, they’re getting education, anger management, self-esteem, relationship issues, grief and loss, yoga, meditation exercise, skill building -- a little bit of everything across the board,” said Brown. “Not everything’s going to resonate with everyone who comes through, but something’s going to resonate for everyone who comes through.”
In addition to the overall core curriculum, Brown and her staff have programs such as pain management, relationship enrichment and tobacco cessation to help individualize treatment.
“The core of the group and individual education is consistent for everyone,” said Brown. “But we recognize that every patient is different, and we have to tailor make it to give an individualized treatment plan. We don’t keep people in pain management if they’re not in pain. We don’t give them tobacco cessation if they’re not smoking. So we do try and tailor as much of it as we can.”
Spirituality, relationship enrichment and gender-specific issues are also areas of focus.
“The program is holistic,” said Pehm. “It looks at people from different spheres, not just the medical model because everything is impacted when someone has combat stress or PTSD - not just the individual soldier, but everybody who comes in contact with them.”
The intensity, length and “kitchen sink” qualities are not the only aspects that make this program unique, said Brown. It is a joint military and civilian effort accomplished entirely by volunteers. The staff is as diverse as the therapy options, and includes chaplains, social workers, Red Cross volunteers, psychiatrists, a nurse practitioner, enlisted psychiatric technicians, and graduate students. Brown said having a sundry of personnel keeps the program fresh and the staff excited.
“The patients get perspectives from people from a number of different backgrounds,” said Brown.
Thus far, the staff outnumbers the program’s participants.
“By design we started out small, and we were able to establish a really good working relationship with the local Warrior Transition Unit people … It’s been a wonderful working relationship with them,” said Pehm.
Evolution is currently on it second eight-week course, with five patients enrolled. The first class had four. The goal is to keep the class size small in order to benefit from the program’s intensity. Thinking small also helps keep the impact large by successfully returning soldiers to their units, while also expanding access outside the WTUs. However, Pehm said they would like to expand the program to include patients from throughout the European Command.
“Ideally, we’d like to max it at about 10 because it is so intensive,” said Brown. “These are folks we hope to remediate and return to the Army to be functional members again. Also, if they go back to their communities and their providers or spouses see the changes that have come about, that will increase the willingness or desire of more people to be here.”
Though few have completed this young program, signs of success have already started to surface.
“With the last group, the shift from ‘I have to be here’ to ‘I’m so glad I came’ was really phenomenal,” said Pehm.
“One of them said that he didn’t think he was getting anything out of the program,” Brown said. “It was about week six until he saw himself react differently to a situation that came up, and watched himself do it differently using skills that he didn’t know he learned. He went ‘Wow,’ maybe I am getting something out of this.”
It is too early, and the numbers are too small, to generalize the early trends, but self-completed PTSD checklists showed a significant decrease in reported symptoms for three of the four patients in the first cohort. Additionally, anxiety and depression symptom measures decreased.
“The whole idea is that we know all the changes aren’t going to take place here,” said Brown. “But we hope we give them enough learning to send them in a different direction. My hope is that we can build a program to provide valid, effective treatment to folks who have put themselves in harm’s way at the request of their country, and help them live happier and better lives.”
FYI, just learned of the movie "The Shadow Effect" which someone at forum had given to him because he was critical of "The Shack" and told it would help him. http://theshadoweffect.com
eww JD, that is taking effective tools such as CBT and EMDR, coupling it with new age spirituality in order to treat trauma. Not shocking really. As a psychologist, always have been disturbed about using "dissociative" techniques for those with issues in dissociation due to trauma.
This morning (Sunday) on one of the talking Marxist heads programs, and I can't remember who said it because they are all alike to me, but whoever was being interviewed actually cited Elizabeth Kubler Ross. Now that woman was a total loon but she is getting a mention by gubment politico-types now.
Yes, but the Creator is perfectly capable of teaching us more than one thing at a time and having things be true over and over again, or on many levels. Like Egypt is a type or shadow of sin, slavery, bondage and being in the world. But Egypt is still a real place, and there was an actual exodus from it.
Since the Deut quote is Scripture, I don't think it's arguable that heaven and earth are two witnesses to us.
I did say that it is most likely two actual persons as well. In the Hebraic mindset, more than one thing can be true for the same scripture and this does not negate either of the truths.
Can you go into more details about that what prompted someone to suggest "The Shadow Effect" to someone who was critical of "The Shack"? You said they were critical about it at "forum".... which forum? Did they post a critique of "The Shack" online somewhere and have someone suggest they watch this movie? That's what I got from your post. If so, can you give a link to the Shack critique? I've read it myself, and didn't like many aspects of it, and when speaking critically of it, got nothing but grief -- from well-grounded Christians! It made me wonder if I was being "hypercritical" about The Shack, so I've laid off in my criticism of it.
Now that I see that a New Age movie called "The Shadow Effect" is being touted as something for people critical of The Shack to watch, I think I might swing back the other way again and start warning of the dangers hidden in that book.
"Hidden Dangers".... where have we heard that phrase before? :^)
Has anyone seen the show "Community" on NBC? This episode is about a christian woman having a christmas party with all her friends that are of all different faiths like Jehovah's witness, Jewish, buddhist, athiest, & muslim.
I have no need for the products you mention, but am greatful for your offer. Hey I know of some people that might be interested though. You can start with the UN and pretty much just go right through their directory. They seem to like taking cheaply made goods from one group and brokering agreements selling it to another, all for their own gain of course. If that doesn't work you can try over at Share International. Benjamin Creme has bought his own bull for so long now, I don't think he'll have to many issues buying yours.
I don't neccesarily subscribe to the title of this video. However Raj Patel, the one espousing a very NA message in the video should probably have an eye kept on him. I could easily see him becoming very popular.
A Living Lesson in Inclusion By Bayla Sheva Brenner
Meet Eli Gorelik, the eighteen-year-old gabbai whom Tifereth Israel’s 200-member congregation has come to respect and rely upon.
(Note: A Gabbai is a person who assists in assuring that the synagogue prayer services run smoothly. The gabbai is not a permanent job but rather a role in the Torah service. The gabbai is responsible for calling congregants up to the Torah to say the requisite blessings before and after each portion is chanted by the designated reader.)
He’s likely one of the youngest gabbaim in the world.
He’s also probably the only one with autism.
On Shabbat, Eli clears the reading table for reading the Torah; he also presents the pointer to the reader and assists with eventual lifting and dressing the Torah. ---“The synagogue has become Eli’s home,” says his mother, Jacki.
“He has his routines,” says Yosef Avrahami, another gabbai (there are five in total) at the Passaic, New Jersey synagogue and a member there for close to four decades.
Eli developed normally for the first two years of his life; at fourteen months, he was walking and talking and freely interacting with those around him. Then things began to change.
“He wasn’t interested in other people,” Jacki says. “He was in his own world.” His preschool teacher reported that during circle time Eli would turn to face outside the circle. Eventually, he was diagnosed with autism.
Autism is the most common condition in a group of developmental disorders known as the autism spectrum disorders, and is characterized by varying degrees of impairment in sensory processing, speech and language development, social interaction and communication skills. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that one out of 160 children in the country currently has autism.
Typical of children with autism, Eli demonstrated markedly rigid behavior. “If I didn’t have a bagel and cheese ready for him when he came home from preschool, he’d ‘lose it,’” says Jacki. “I couldn’t take him anywhere; he would fixate on the movement of the escalator or run back repeatedly to push the elevator buttons so he could watch the doors open and close.” The Goreliks’ other children noticed their brother was different. “It was tough [for them]; he was doing inappropriate things, like talking to himself, and he had problems communicating with others,” says Rabbi David Gorelik, Eli’s father, a rabbinic coordinator at the Orthodox Union (OU). “Once my older son asked why the Lord made Eli the way He did,” says Rabbi Gorelik. “I told him: ‘The Lord wanted us to do good deeds for Eli.’”
The Goreliks enrolled Eli in a special program for children with developmental disabilities, where his responsiveness improved. “His world capacity is limited,” says Rabbi Gorelik. “Whereas you and I can talk about things outside of our experience, his interest lies solely in his own world.”
There’s No Place Like . . . Synagogue.
When Eli was five, his father began taking him to Tifereth Israel, and the synagogue quickly became the center of his world. “He loved it,” says Rabbi Gorelik. “He would sit through the rabbi’s sermon without making a sound.” Eli chose to occupy the chair on the pulpit, next to the rabbi. “Every time the rabbi finished his sermon, he’d run to shake his hand and say, ‘[Congratulations]!’” says Rabbi Gorelik. A member expressed his chagrin that “a child with autism [congratulates] the rabbi when none of the others at the dais do,’” relates Rabbi Gorelik. “From then on, [everyone] began offering the rabbi [congratulations].”
As a young child, Eli would sit in his seat without participating in the service, his eyes following the rabbi’s every move. Over time, he became more involved. “Suddenly, I heard him saying Shema (Listen Israel ---) along with me,” says Rabbi Solomon Weinberger, who served as rabbi of the synagogue for more than four decades and is currently the rabbi emeritus. “And when I stood up for [the Standing Prayer], he got up and stood next to me and bowed every time I bowed and shuckled [swayed] with me.”
Eli promptly picked up every word of the Shabbat [prayer service]. --- “I had the only kid in town who was saying [the prayer in memory of a deceased] for his parents while they were still alive,” jokes Eli’s mom. “It never fazed the rabbi; he has such love for every individual, and Eli grabbed onto it.”
“He seemed to gravitate to me and I enjoyed his friendship,” says Rabbi Weinberger. “The very fact that he was able to [come to] the pulpit and to stand next to the rabbi gave him a sense of importance, a feeling that he is wanted and cherished.”
When Eli turned eight, his parents informed him that it was time for him to sit with the rest of the congregation. Along with maturity came a sense of responsibility; he slowly began taking on the duties of a gabbai. One Shabbat around ten years ago, Avrahami says, when he approached the pulpit, Eli started following him and participating in the preparation for the Torah reading. He’s been doing so ever since.
Eli’s mother attributes his high level of comfort with [prayer] to Rabbi Weinberger’s magnanimity and the openness of congregants who followed the rabbi’s lead. Harry Fruhman, a former member of Tifereth Israel, made an immediate and meaningful connection with his young [synagogue] mate. It didn’t hurt that he was the congregation’s “candy man.” As Eli started coming to him for some goodies, Fruhman urged him to sit beside him; that ultimately became Eli’s official seat. “I would take his hand and use his finger to point to the places in the [prayer book] to [pray],” he says. Eli kept returning, and not always for the candy. “I’d offer him a lollipop,” says Fruhman. “He’d say ‘no’ and stick his finger out for me to show him where to [pray]. At Torah reading, no matter where he was [in the sanctuary], he’d come running to me [so I could move] his finger to the place.”
Over the years, Eli’s role in the synagogue has expanded—he is now also the official proofreader of the calendar. “He’s always been intrigued by calendars and has the eye to notice inconsistencies,” says his father. “On [last year’s] Rosh Hashanah schedule, he found a number of mistakes. He pointed out to me that a service should have been listed as 7:00 rather than 7:20. He also noticed that another service wasn’t mentioned.” Now, each month, the synagogue sends Eli a draft of the calendar to proofread.
When Eli’s not in Passaic for Shabbat, he’s at a National Council for Disabilities (NCJD) weekend offering his inimitable help. NJCD is the OU’s program dedicated to enhancing life for individuals with disabilities. “A lot of details, planning and strategizing go into such a weekend; it is possible to forget something,” says Naftali Herrmann, former program director of Junior Yachad, which provides programming for individuals with disabilities ages eight to fifteen. “The staff is comforted by the thought that if we forgot anything . . . Eli’ll be the first to realize it and let us know.”
“[At the weekend,] he was always the first one at the service every morning,” says Herrmann. “If I came late, he would point to his watch to let me know.”
Fruhman also notes the importance attending services holds for Eli. “One should never underestimate how meaningful prayer is to children with special needs,” he says. “You might not think they are internalizing—unequivocally, they are.”
Rabbi Aaron Cohen, the current rabbi of Tifereth Israel, concurs. “When Eli gets a [turn to say the Torah blessings] it gives him an [obvious] sense of pride,” he says. “His very strong connection to Torah and [commandments] makes an impact on the congregants.” And he makes sure Eli is cognizant of it. “It’s important that the rabbi has a personal relationship with children with special needs to demonstrate to them that they really matter and that they are an integral part of the synagogue,” he says. “When Eli is away for the Sabbath, we’ll let him know we missed him.”
“[Eli] does the maximum to participate and has developed friendships with many congregants,” says Rabbi Cohen. “This sets the tone in the synagogue, showing that we care about each person.”
The community has also benefited from actively reaching out and embracing Eli. “He has taught us all humility, empathy, patience and [about having] a sense of humor,” says Jacki. “A child with special needs shows you what’s important, and what is not; he shows you how to extend yourself in order to understand and appreciate the value and blessing of every human being.”
When it comes to integrating individuals with special needs, Tifereth Israel’s congregation is a true model. “They’ve known Eli now for [more than] thirteen years,” says Jacki. “It’s rewarding to see how he’s developed and to watch him running out of the house and down the street to get to the synagogue.”
Eli makes a point to leave home extra early, eager to take his rightful place in the congregation. For that, his family feels immeasurable goodness. “I thank my fellow congregants and both rabbis for having been so good to him; they’ve accepted him and treat him like anybody else. They look at him as another member.”

Regarding your commentary on The Shack, here is a good sermon that should provide valuable information for you. Just my opinion but you're right on the money railing against this book.
Len, that was a very moving piece, it made me cry, it gave me hope, it reminded me of a few things, thank you for sharing, and may God Bless you and everyone else here.
I am currently listening to the message you referenced. Thank you for this link.
Between 5 and 6 minutes the pastor references a French philosopher Jacques ???. I recognize the other names, but he is pronouncing the last name with a very good French pronunciation. I can't recognize it. Do you know the name?
Being a parent of a child with autism, I can tell you the most widely used therapeutic approach is something called Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). It is the therapy that had demonstrated profound improvements in children with autism.
With my son Kaleb we have used primarily a play therapy based approach combined with some ABA techniques. These two therapies are quite effective. However, it has not resolved his obsessive-compulsive type behaviors. He still is fascinated by fans to the point he will stand up on tables in restaurants. If he gets a hold of a plunger, there will soon be a flood in the bathroom.
With this said Kaleb is quite verbal. He can even engage in conversations. Before you know it, he'll twist the conversation to get you to talk about his obsessions. At first you might not realize anything is different about him. Spend enough time with him and you soon will discover his differences. His younger brother is a typical four going on five-year-old, although very smart.
Kaleb is 8 and in second grade and is in regular education with some support services. He certainly does well in math and science.
This past Christmas our church had its annual children's program. Kaleb sang a solo that was the most moving song I've heard in a long time. It was like a Susan Boyle moment. He left people in tears, including some men in the congregation. He's doing special music again this Sunday and he sounds phenominal. He has certainly surprized his parents with his singing talent. We are reluctant to put it on You Tube, though.
I don't know how this will fit into the conversation here. But, I thought I should add my two cents with some of the autism comments.
Received in an e-mail from the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA):
"Maj. General Graziano will shortly conclude his term as UNIFIL commander. He will be replaced by Maj. General Alberto Asarta Cuevas of Spain. The head of the Israeli negotiation team, MFA Director General Yossi Gal, thanked Maj. General Claudio Graziano, his country – Italy, and the United Nations for his service as commander of the UNIFIL force..."
RE: Raj Patel - interesting how he had interviews on January 12, 2010 on the Colbert Report and Democracy Now (both available on-line). Huffington Post has new article on him - he is becoming popular. Creme's announced interview?
Raj would make a compelling Maitreya. He touches on the various new age themes of both Share international and Lucis Trust. We should keep an eye on this guy.
I just watched Raj Patel's January 12th interview -- he didn't strike me so far as terribly impressive or charismatic. He also goes by the name of Rajeev Patel.
The "Year of the Tiger" begins February 14th, two moons past the winter solstice. 2010 is the year of the Metal Tiger (gold/silver) and also represents the branch of earth. The Chinese consider the tiger to be king of all beasts. According to Wikipedia (see Chinese New Year) the first day of the new year is for welcoming of the dieties of the heavens and earth. For Buddhists it's the birthday of Maitreya (Bodhisattva) the Buddha to be. The tiger is the eastern counterpart of Aquarius.
Wikipedia reference: Tiger (zodiac) Motto is "I WIN".
Creme made a point to reference the Year of the Tiger as being significant in his latest video about his Maitreya.
If they are using Pychogenics, then essentially they are working on not healing trauma victims, but finding ways to control them ala, MK Ultra garbage. Not sure how EMDR fits or Cogntive therapy fits into that mix, but generally any tool can be used to an effect. Essentially if using pyschogenics they are manipulating damaged hearts and souls. Just horrifying and disgusting. Also nauseating. This is the "emotional" reaction in the spirit. Our Holy Father in Heaven, please send the Holy Spirit to minister to the depths of those poor souls. Draw them unto you, heal the wounds. Protect them. In your name and authority Jesus. Amen. Just plain evil. JD, if you would be so kind as to send me links to the source material that would be helpful. peacebringer@gmail.com (Going touse my google account for this post) Peacebringer
I will get the materials pulled and sent out to you. In case you were wondering the drugs I am refering to are most likely familiar to most of the readers. They are Lyrica and Neurontin. However most of the readers probably have no clue what it is these drugs actually due, or what they are made of, or that they are classified as hallucinagenic with hypnotic capabilities. I have personal experience with these as they were prescribed to me for nerve pain. After experiencing some very adverse reactions to them was when I started to look into them a little deeper. I also found some more information while researching some parts of the project Susanna and I have been working on. I actually think your assertion regarding an MKUltra type application aren't that far off. I am sure you are aware that neuropathic drugs like this are being pushed for almost anything that can ail someone. I haven't quite nailed down everything to do with this aspect of the agenda, but I can directly tie some of it to our project which makes me supremely suspicious.
VW interesting- did you know that the NAR and Peter Wagner's group put out a "Word" where the starting point that this is the year "We win." http://tinyurl.com/yg7q9dp CIndy Jacobs is the professor of said word.
This video is worth watching even though I've had my fair share of disagreement and disillusionment with Dave Hunt over, inter alia, issues of William Law (and by extension Jacob Boehme), Norman Grubb . . . the following video, however, is valuable:
JD, I am a Mental Health professional,God has called me to work with broken people and heal and help restore broken heart and souls.
Antidepressants and psych meds are overused. I do not know much about drug structures but there is something that I always have been trouble by "antiseizure" medication being able to serve as mood stabilizers. The arguement is less toxic than Lithium. Note, these medications have legitimate use and purpose but there are many who manipulate control and create itogenic issues.
FYI, have long been aware of New Age and mental health, have long had to sift through it. Was aware of it being around when I took a sociology of future course and it was all new age. Aquarian Conspiracy was the text, I burned it after that course.
Since you are in mental health, I will ask you this. Did you know that part of what makes both of these type of drugs work, is their ability to keep the brain from making new pathways? Did you also know that prolonged exposure can result in permanent damage to the brain in this area? As I am sure you are aware new pathways within the brain are some of what keep us cognitive as we age. Eliminating them would cause anyone on them who might end up with alzheimers to be virtually guaranteed to end up with the disease. Some studies are even showing it accelerates the disease and is causing early onset of the disease in people who have no family history and other wise showed no signs of the disease. Not to mention some of the other properties that the drug is designed for, which can be used for some of the aspects we were talking about.
I suspect we may be thinking along the same lines. I also think once you start reading what it is I am going to send you, you will be all but convinced. It may take me a little bit to get to it tonight, but I will send the info as soon as I can.
http:// whoops, how"d that happen ?? anyhow has anyone read dennis cuddy"s 3 piece on the "ORDER" over at news with views? Its a work of genius. tony in vermont
Since not a pyschiatrist, did not know about the neural pathways. Funny you mention that because recently article somewhere with porn making neural pathways. Neural pathways as you said are, our ability to learn. Part of EMDR works and "shifting" neural pathway and simulating the brains sleep state and clearing those paths. So whatever they are attempting has to do with Neural pathways. Will be interested to examine.
Also using google ID cause open ID with blog doesn't seem to want to work tonight.
Thank you for the article about Eli. I believe autism often comes from mercury and other substances in immunizations.
Most gov't authorities deny this. I do not know who is right. I do know that I myself have a 48 hour neurological reaction to mercury in shots. Thank God it resolves, but it is torture while going on. I become so spastic that I am almost rigid. Like some kids with autism.
How we have sinned through our so called scientific developments. Yes, science enabled us to cut through and dispense with superstition, but it also gave us a feeling that we can rule the world, change the world into whatever we want. a mistake.
I ordered the Kindle edition of Raj (Rajeev) Patel's new book. He has an extensive website. The January 12th interview did not appear to be a serious interview. There was an earlier one by a more sympathetic interviewer to him on You Tube. I have started reading Patel's book. I will say this for him: don't know where he is presently "coming from." There are plenty of New Age influences revealed in it. However, he did come down against euthanasia and the book which the Nazis used to legimitize it during the Hitler era: THE DESTRUCTION OF THE LIFE DEVOID OF VALUE. His $200 hambugers were a bit much! I'm still reading. I have not yet figured out if Creme is an unwitting diversion for a more sophisticated political scheme and leader -- I'm watching and praying like the rest of you. As I have always said, "your guess is as good as mine" but keeping to biblical specifications and warnings will help us, with the help of God, keep our guesses relatively "educated."
Shortly before leaving my office last night, I had a shock call from Attorney Ronald Kaplovitz, an immigration specialist in the Detroit metropolitan area. He called to inform me that my dear friend since law school days, Attorney Sharon Boelio, died alone at home unexpectedly over the weekend. Sharon was definitely a believer and had always been a loyal friend. Pray for her and her family.
I will definitely pray for Sharon and all those touched by her life.
I was just thinking to myself earlier today that Constance might purchase Raj Patel's book. The "Value of Nothing" for $14.00. I was tempted, but I could hear my wife's voice in my head, so I listened to it this time.
From his Value of Nothing video on You Tube much of what he's saying is New Age but Marxist as well. Sorry, people buying unhealthy fast food is a matter of self-control, not market forces. Alright, perhaps commercials like McDonald's where they show a healthy thin person eating their food is somewhat misleading. However, people should use some common sense when making their choices.
I do have some questions about Matreya and the claims made by Benjamin Creme. Recently, I looked at the Lucis Trust website expecting to read similar fanfare about Matreya. However, they had no reference to Matreya being here or no information on the "star." In fact, they had no info on Benjamin Creme whatsoever. It's almost as if they never heard of him.
So, um, why then do they not reference each other? They seem to be saying the same things, but they have no links to one another's websites? Why is that? Is there some connection that they aren't advertising to the world? Are they rival groups trying to be the first to get credit for their false messiah?
Also, after watching the Dave Hunt video Constance referred to, Mr. Creme at that time mentioned that the first interview by Matreya would be done via telepathy in all languages. Like a New Age pentecost of sorts. Has Mr. Creme forgotten that he made this claim? Is he A) a crackpot; B) a con artist conning the new agers; or C) all of the above?
Now, on Mr. Creme's Share international website, I did see that he studied Alice A. Bailey. He also has posted the great (horrorfying) invocation. So, there's evidence of some interaction. Perhaps he was a student of Lucis trust's Harry Potter, I mean, Arcane school. Lucis Trust just doesn't mention Mr. Creme or his recent claims. I'm so confused.
My fault, I did see it when I reviewed the link, but forgot to update here.
DavidinBC,
Creme started out his operation through Tara Centre, which at the time worked VERY closely with Lucis Trust. At one point Creme and his associates even had NGO status with the UN. It may be possible that one entity has brought too much heat on themselves, so there is a disassociation to protect the other. Make no mistake though David they are very related.
God bless you for the work you do and for fighting the good fight. All aspects of mental health treatment (most psychology counseling included) is saturate with New Age ideas.
Why does this smell so bad ? What kind of "security chief" just happens to have a PhD ? This doesn't make sense. Did he know too much and have the wrong opinions? That would be too much, considering the FAILURE that was Copenhagen. Maybe his desire to protect these liars, was compromised, in a year when there will probably be many strong protests. I'm waiting to see what happens at the Henry Kissinger/ Zbigniew Brazinski/ Trilateral Commission/ CFR show this year. It's always a really big sheeow.
You may want to pay close attention to the World Economic Forum as well. I have a sinking suspicion about what a major theme of the forum may be this year. I just took a look at the themes this year, which when taken in context with what I know to be happening are not good.

Purpose Improving the state of the world requires catalysing global cooperation to address pressing challenges and future risks. Global cooperation in turn needs stakeholders from business, government, the media, science, religion, the arts and civil society to collaborate as a true community. To this end, the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting has engaged leaders from all walks of life to shape the global agenda at the start of the year for the last four decades.
Rethink, Redesign and Rebuild In response to new priorities, the organizing theme for the 40th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in 2010 is a call to action, "Improve the State of the World: Rethink, Redesign, Rebuild".
Driving the rethink at the 40th Annual Meeting will be the Network of Global Agenda Councils comprised of over 1,000 experts active in over 70 Councils created to advance solutions to the most critical challenges facing the world.
Redesign discussions in Davos will leverage the ongoing work of the Forum’s Global Redesign Initiative (GRI), an unprecedented multistakeholder dialogue focusing on adapting structures and systems of international cooperation to the challenges of the 21st century.
The effort to rebuild trust and confidence needs to begin before, and extend well beyond the next Annual Meeting. To that end, WELCOM, a collaborative platform that integrates Web 2.0 technology, will enable leaders to build knowledge, share insights and reach out to key stakeholders as an online community throughout the year.
Thematic Pillars of the Programme The programme will focus on the following six areas of inquiry and their global, regional and industry dimensions:
How to Strengthen Economic and Social Welfare How to Mitigate Global Risks and Address Systemic Failures How to Ensure Sustainability How to Enhance Security How to Create a Values Framework How to Build Effective Institutions
Actually as I look through all of the plenary meetings and who is involved I know I won't like what comes out of this. Now it becomes how much won't I like it?
Raj Patel has certainly noticed the chatter regarding people's suspicions he might be Maitreya. He actually wrote a response on his blog:

I mention this because recently a trickle, and then a flood, of email has come asking me whether I’m Maitreya – the leader of a movement that might be able to save the planet from itself. Some swift Googling and dipping into strange forums informs me that Maitreya is a leader foretold in a range of religions. Those who think that I might be the new prince of peace have been reading things from Share International.
So what, according to Share International, does Maitreya do? Through a doctrine of sharing, fraternity, social justice and cooperation, he (and it does seem to be a he, not a she) brings humanity back from economic and ecological collapse through new forms of spiritual community.
As it happens, I do think that sharing, fraternity, justice and cooperation are terrific things. I also think that prioritising the needs of the poor, hungry and oppressed is a non-negotiable part of a sustainable future. There are other similarities. The picture of Maitreya above shows the Buddhist avatar holding a water bottle, and I’m never far from mine. Apparently, stuttering is the mark of something esoteric, though I’m not entirely sure what that is. Finally, just as foretold, I did indeed fly from India to London in 1977, although the plane ride was a return trip from a holiday with my family.
Unfortunately, from I think that’s where the resemblances end. It frustrates me only a little less than it might disappoint those looking for Maitreya that, in fact, I’m just an ordinary bloke. I always wanted to be a Prince of Something. But when opportunity comes knocking, it turns out it’s to get me to sign for a package for some other dude...
Raj Patel's response sure leaves the door open. His latest blog entry, "Call me Brian" is a direct reference to the "Life of Brian", an irreverent biblical satire which presumes to focus on religious intolerance.
The main character, Brian, happens to have been born on the same night, but in the next stable over from "you know who".
The key thing to keep in mind about this comparison is that "Brian", despite repeated denials, eventually, albeit reluctantly, does end up taking on the mantle of a "messiah", of sorts.
How very interesting that RA, I mean Rav, grasps the similarities.
I don't like having to do this, but Alex Jones is about as credible for information as the Onion. I am guessing the thread implies HAARP or a black op of some sort, so let me give you a little advice. If you want to suggest something of this nature, you better have evidence. Otherwise no one is going to listen. I'll even give you some hints, start with the US geological society. You should be able to see manipulation and editing of data if something like HAARP were the case. Other than that you would need to find witnesses around a HAARP installation that would be willing to state that the system was operational at least two hours before the event, and remained in operation until after the event. I have seen enough on HAARP to know it could be used for this type of application but have yet to see a case where it supposedly was with enough evidence to support the claim. Otherwise you are simply reporting as news something that came from a man who is friendly with Peter Joseph, David Icke, and Jordan Maxwell. All three of which espouse differing messages of the New Age Movement.
Very interesting analysis. That Patel would refer to himself in such a connontation while answering such a question is a bit puzzling. Maybe Patel wants to keep the speculation going to drive book sales, then in the end he can simply state that he already said he wasn't the guy, despite the inuendo.
The final scene in the movie "Life of Brian" is a comedic musical rendition of the crucifixion...(could there be anything more evil than that?)
The final song was composed on the spot, by Monty Python's Eric Idle as he hung on the cross next to the movie's version of a bewildered and confused Jesus. Still wildly popular, the song and end of movie scene has been viewed by millions on You Tube.
The lyrics are noteworthy.
words and music by Eric Idle
Some things in life are bad They can really make you mad Other things just make you swear and curse. When you're chewing on life's gristle Don't grumble, give a whistle And this'll help things turn out for the best...
And...always look on the bright side of life... Always look on the light side of life...
If life seems jolly rotten There's something you've forgotten And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing. When you're feeling in the dumps Don't be silly chumps Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing.
And...always look on the bright side of life... Always look on the light side of life...
For life is quite absurd And death's the final word You must always face the curtain with a bow. Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.
So always look on the bright side of death Just before you draw your terminal breath
Life's a piece of shit When you look at it Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true. You'll see it's all a show Keep 'em laughing as you go Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
And always look on the bright side of life... Always look on the right side of life... (Come on guys, cheer up!) Always look on the bright side of life... Always look on the bright side of life... (Worse things happen at sea, you know.) Always look on the bright side of life... (I mean - what have you got to lose?) (You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing. What have you lost? Nothing!) Always look on the right side of life...
Yes, without proof, it's all conjecture. But the very real possibility is feeding a growing bubble of fear and mistrust across the country. As you are probably aware, Alex Jones is not the original source of the rumor. He's only picking up on what Hugo Chavez previously claimed, and then echoed by the Russians. However, a little closer to home, former Constitution Party presidential candidate, Chuck Baldwin has alluded to the very same possibility, and stated some very compelling reasons he thinks this could be the case. (If you haven't read Baldwin's article on the subject over at News with Views, I suggest you do so.)
Secretary of Defense Cohen specifically warned us about earthquake and other environmental weapons way back during the Clinton years. Tesla warned us about it a century ago, claiming he could split the earth in half.
But hey, just look at the bright side. The Saints are in the Superbowl!
I have looked enough into manipulation of ELF waves and HAARP to know the possibility is real. I will even go so far as to say that I know what is happening in Haiti isn't on the up and up, and I'm not just talking about the situations that are being reported. My point was more of that the poster cited ALEX JONES of all people, like he was a credible source for anything. I have some speculations of my own, about half of which I can prove. However, I won't speculate about what caused the quake even though I don't think it was a natural occurence until I have some evidence. However I do have evidence that one organization positioning itself to help rebuild Port Au Prince could be very bad news. If they have their way Haiti's capital may very well become a U-city.
According to Wikipedia: A ubiquitous city or U-city is a city or region with ubiquitous information technology. All information systems are linked, and virtually everything is linked to an information system through technologies such as wireless networking and RFID tags.
I will tell you right now that the Lucis Trust people and Benjamin Creme interact -- they definitely were when I discovered the whole scene in 1981 and they are today. Lucis Trust refers to Maitreya (whoever she/she/it turns out to be will be called "Maitreya."
The internet piece (Wikipedia) is one of the most lovely pieces of disinformation I have seen. It is a "go back to sleep" piece and I'll bet dollars to donuts that the IONS/The Family/SCP crowd collaborated on it.
". . . Already it is clear that Ashton does not have a strategy for dealing with crises. Compare her response to Haiti with that of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. Secretary Clinton canceled her Pacific diplomatic tour and hopped aboard a U.S. Coast Guard plane carrying food, water, and other supplies to the country. The same plane would then be used to fly 50 Americans back home. Clinton has met with Haitian leaders, pledged swift and long-term American support, and gathered intelligence on her government’s response capabilities. She’s working to improve the distribution of aid, asking for a resolution to the air traffic back-up, coordinating the restoration of Haiti’s vital infrastructure, and planning for the long-term development of the country. The symbolism of her being there carries a big message as well. Clinton looks engaged, empathetic, and committed; Ashton looks aloof, disinterested, and out-of-touch. Clinton sees the devastation first-hand; Ashton sends outgoing EU commissioner for development Karel De Gucht. Clinton shows she’s an active, results-oriented diplomat; Ashton shows she’s an in-over-her-heard ineffective figurehead. The comparison shows precisely what Ashton is not. She is not a globetrotting, high-profile, diplomatic heavyweight. She is not a foreign minister or secretary of state. She is also not experienced. She is not ready.

Tower of Babel 2.0 already exists, its called the internet.(I mean this seriously) This is more like Tower of Babel 3.0 with an express elevator to the top.
Has anyone looked into the president of syria? Dozons and dozens of high profile people have met with him to discuss his peace plan. Many kings and heads of state have met with him as well as all kinds of "holy" men including the former pope, rick warren, jesse jackson.
Of our government, john kerry, former president jimmy carter, nancy pelosi, colin powell, congressman and others.

Regarding your comment to my 10:21 PM post: "I am guessing the thread implies HAARP or a black op of some sort, so let me give you a little advice. If you want to suggest something of this nature, you better have evidence." ___________________________________
Maybe you need to follow some of your OWN advice, JD.
For that matter, where is all of the evidence on every bit of your research?
While the link that I posted at 10:21 PM never mentions HAARP, it does express concern about the military buildup that is taking place in Haiti (20,000 troops to be exact) - as originally reported by Agence France-Press (AFP) - not Alex Jones.
I, too, take Alex Jones with a large grain of salt. However, when he gets information from OTHER legitimate news sources in Europe, I am not so prejudiced as to refuse to consider the possibility that he just MIGHT be on to something.
I know that Creme and Lucis Trust are connected. I've only been following this stuff since I was 16. How I ended up reading "Hidden Dangers..." was a miracle in itself. My senior year in high school one of my teachers advocated reading "The Aquarian Conspiracy" to students. Who knows what would have happened if I read that book first?
My questions are somewhat rhetorical. I'm surprised by the lack of fanfare for Maitreya's emergence by Lucis Trust. I think it's interesting they list nothing. I believe the apparent disassociation is intentional.
I also have read enough information to know how someone like Obama (and his predecessors) is connected to this and the forces of global government, even before reading JD's info. We are seeing not just an establishment of NWO entities, but implementation. Obama is a part of this implementation. Is this not one of the major goals of the NAM. All this leaves me with a feeling of anxiety. Soon will be the implemention of their new world religion.
The NAM have been waiting for someone like Obama to come along. It opened up the timing for their Maitreya to appear. The Haitian earthquake happening almost at the same time is hardly coincidental. I least I think it is.
The Dave Hunt video is a reminder of how hypnotic Benjamin Creme can be. Soon after I watched the January 12th interview of Raj Patel, I glanced at the TV and saw Obama. I noticed the gaze in their eyes were quite similar. I don't know if that means anything, but it was a bit creepy.
Look my comment was meant as advice, we get too many around here that want to quote Jones as a reliable source. In rereading the comment I made I see where you may have read me as conflictual, for that you have my apologies. My project will be presentable shortly, and not to worry there is more than enough evidence.
All,
8.6 magnitude quake recorded in Sichuan China. Nothing on USGS yet but Euro Med seismological centre has it posted.
Is this a foretelling of how bad the Stae of the Union speech may be tonight?
2010 State of the Union Address Dear Commissioned Corps Officers of Tier III Roster D:
The U.S. Capitol Police and the Office of the Attending Physician, through the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR), Office of Preparedness and Emergency Response, has asked the Office of Force Readiness and Deployment (OFRD) to roster medical strike teams of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and registered nurses to provide Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support during the 2010 State of the Union Address in Washington, DC. Capital Area Provider Team #4 will be working this event but we plan to augment their team with additional assets from Tier III Roster D.
This is a little odd to me. Why would you call up a force of medical professionals for a business as usual speech? They always have some form of EMS on hand just in case, but this is way beyond that scope.
USGS does not have any info on this quake yet, should be all over the place by now. However, a few seismic monitoring stations do seem to be reporting it. (Swiss, African, etc.) Here's a Romanian monitoring site that appears legit ...but who knows?
http://www.infp.ro/en/origins/5055-ronet
If true, there is an interesting coincidence with the Haitian quake, both appear to have very shallow origins (15 km or less).
I just read your post. I don't disagree that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life, but as a Catholic, I do not believe in Sola Scriptura or subjective interpretations of scripture. The New Testament was written from 50 to 150 A.D. It was finally declared canon by the 4th century. However, there was already an established church by a 100 A.D. I would ask you to sincerely read the Early Church Fathers and the Apostolic Fathers who compiled the Bible. A book cannot exist before the people who compiled it. The Early Church used the four senses of scripture to interpret scripture.
I do understand that your arguments come from a different perspective than mine. We would have to leave it at that, because I don't think this blog is made for discussions of this sort, because they could go on forever.
Just a reminder: The Copenhagan Conference a few months ago was a farce and the people who insist that mankind is ruining the climate are either misguided or stupid or intentionally dishonest.
No it wasn't just a little figure of speech that got blown way out of proportion. It was deception. Why do they do it ? Just imagine a global tax, and how much money it would bring in for the likes of Al Gore & Co. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pope wants unity around virgin Mary, «the Mother of the Church» January 28, 2010 «The Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, says yes that Her Son’s wish is realized as soon as possible, that they may all be one… that the world may believe».
Following up on my report of a 8.6 quake in Sechuan China. After some digging through USGS I have found the data stream from station QIZ in China. I don't like saying this, but there appears to be some form of information blackout concerning this event. I can find data streams on almost every site that report quakes. From EMCS now to USGS, yet no official reports of the quake. Even more concerning is lack of reporting concerning malfunctioning equipment, which to me seems improbable considering the number of places reporting data from their own equipment. This leaves me with one of two possibilities, either every seismological instrument in or around China malfunctioned at exactly the same time and no one is reporting it, or a massive earthquake rocked China and it is being buried. Any other logical conclusions are welcomed, because as of now I am growing increasingly concerned.
It doesn't seem big but here in central Oklahoma, we have had several earthquakes ranging from 2.5-4.0 for the last several months. Back in August we had 9 in a twenty four hour period. The 4.0 was the largest of all of them and was on Jan 15 which was our 5th of this month.

YELLOWSTONE SUPERVOLCANO GETTING READY TO BLOW ITS CORK
updated 1-22-10
compiled by Dee Finney
2010 - Beginning last Sunday, there have been over 1,000 earthquakes registered at Yellowstone Super Volcano. The largest of the series measured at 3.8 magnitude. If they reach the 4.0+ magnitude, it will most likely call for increased cautionary monitoring and perhaps a call for public 'watch!"
2009 - over 500 Earthquakes at Yellowstone 18 earthquakes on January 2, 2009 12 earthquakes on January 1, 2009 58 earthquakes on December 31, 2008 23 Earthquakes on December 30, 2008 38 Earthquakes on December 29, 2008 103 Earthquakes on December 28, 2008
From what I can gather, there doesn't appear to have been an actual earthquake, based on people who have talked to persons in China. Here's a random statement that is typical of several I've seen:
http://tinyurl.com/y8mknnw
There could have been *some* event that was recorded, but it doesn't appear to have been an earthquake.
(Underground nuclear test? Major explosion? HAARP or some other kind of "weapons test"?)
I have now seen similar reports from people in China. However there has yet to have been any explanation for what the many different locations were picking up. I am having some problems with my computer today and am having trouble accessing my email. My antivirus picked up some down loader agents so I am running scans and fixing the issues. I guess when you go digging through the dirt you better expect to come across some bugs.
Notice that the first step in the construction of a typical spider web is to create anchor lines, while the finishing touch is the spiral. Once the spiral is complete, all that remains is for the spider to take up her perch.
When you have time, take another look at photos of the mysterious “blue star” that appeared above the failed cap and trade Copenhagen summit. Although I believe this spiral phenomenon was entirely man made, (likely a laser/holographic projection, which had nothing to do with rocketry), I also believe it wasn’t just a meaningless light show.
The Copenhagen summit proved that man’s attempt at global governance, up to this point, has been a total failure. The solutions of course, lie in the realization that it’s going to take a “superior being”, with superior ideas, to actually accomplish “hope and change”, level the global playing field and create the conditions for real “social justice”.
Enter Raj Patel, a man who’s name means “Prince [who has] dominion [over] the people [village]”. Patel is a vibrant handsome man, a brilliant scholar imbued with charisma, wit, and intelligence. His resume and personality invoke instant trust. His life is loaded with relevant professionalism, a ton of “for the people” experience. And Raj just happened to arrive in London at the same time and coming from the same place as Crème’s Maitreya? Perhaps Raj’s tongue in cheek reference to “just call me Brian” should be understood for what it is, a revelation that such comparisons are occurring, and will only intensify, ultimately leading to a specific outcome. It’s his karma.
But forget the conjecture and just compare Patel’s 2008 Congressional testimony, interviews, articles and books, with everything published on Crème’s Share International website. Even a cursory review suggests that Raj’s writings and the political/spiritual mindset on SI are the same. (Hmmm…. just another coincidence, eh Brian?)
A proponent of “Slow Foods”, grass roots “democracy”, and global economic development based on “sustainable” local agriculture, Raj provides honest common sense answers to an increasingly frustrated population who have come to resent the top down corporate/political control which they believe has negatively impacted nearly every aspect of their lives. Much of what Raj presents, is in fact, a better idea.
Raj Patel’s appearance is like an incarnation of the “smiling Buddha”. Yet he is a man who’s dedication to sharing and democracy appears to be his only religion. Speaking of democracy, the devil himself cannot be content with winning a measly one-third of the vote. He is actively campaigning for more. Hitler managed to garner 98% voter support to become the world’s most famous democratically elected antichrist. Enough said about this demonic process.
Granted, we do have a moral imperative to share what God has provided. But not everybody, nor every community, let alone every nation, is going to voluntarily give up their “fair share”, which in a worldly sense, is an arbitrary amount determined by others.
As we look into this exceedingly dark business, keep in mind that the Kingdom of our Lord and Savior is not a democracy. As it is written, Christ is seated “far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.”
omots said: "But not everybody, nor every community, let alone every nation, is going to voluntarily give up their “fair share”, which in a worldly sense, is an arbitrary amount determined by others."
This is why I believe that the period of time we are entering will be characterized by continuous "wars and rumors of wars", all the talk of peace to the contrary. There may be periods of uncertain peace, but war and conquest are two of the four horses that ride out among mankind during the End of Days. (The first two, I might add, although I'm not going to put *too* much emphasis on the importance of chronology regarding the four horses...)
Hence, my focus here over the past few months on Russia, China, et al.
And this is apart from the "war on the saints" which is another thing entirely.
Yes Chuck Baldwin's news w/ views article leaves one to wonder....about the earthquake in Haiti. The Fulfilled prophecy discussion board's "Adamantine's" comments not only on the Sanhedrin initiative, but also on the weu/psc connection w/ the Reccmd 666 document and the possible re-emergence of Solana at such an opportune time of this yrs. passover to put a stop to any attempt to sacrafice on the temple mount also leaves us with something to wonder about....indeed! Well ultimately the Justice Day is coming...as the conqueror is on His way!! LOOK UP, tony in vt.
USGS Russian data stream. They have a flat line at the same spot where many sites show activity 40.0min. / 08.00.00 to 10.00.00. There are data records from several US locations that show activity at a similar time and location, although the MST time is different but within close range.

The Church is ecumenical in her mission. Not simply to be nice to other Christians but to be faithful to her Lord who wills that "all may be one". LOS ANGELES (Catholic Online) - This week, in preparation for the great Feast of Pentecost, the Priestly Prayer of Christ will be read in the Liturgy.
Pope Benedict XVI has, in continuity with his predecessor, the late Servant of God John Paul II, continued to implore the Holy Spirit to lead us to Unity.
Meeting with the Armenian Patriarch this week, he continues to reach toward the full communion of the One Church.
The Prayer of Jesus echoes in the Church at the beginning of this new missionary age. We need to make it our own:
"I pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me.
And I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one, as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may be brought to perfection as one, that the world may know that you sent me, and that you loved them even as you loved me." St. John 17:20-23
Walter Cardinal Kasper, the president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, was interviewed years ago concerning the "progress" of ecumenism in the forty years since the Council promulgated it’s 1964 decree "Unitatis Redintegratio", the Decree on Ecumenism.
Cardinal Kasper said that "the Church's ecumenical awareness has grown." He noted that "problems and disappointments still exist" and "obviously, we have still not reached the objective: full and visible communion."
"We are in an intermediary state," he said. "Sometimes, old prejudices persist. Also to be deplored are signs of slowness and egoism… The suspicion that ecumenical dialog harms our own Catholic identity is a grave suspicion…The truth is the opposite. Dialogue presupposes partners who have their own identity...Ecumenism is not a form of ecclesiastical diplomacy, but rather a "spiritual process."
The Church is ecumenical in her mission. Not simply to be nice to other Christians but to be faithful to her Lord who wills that "all may be one". This commitment to authentic ecumenism was an anchor of the contributions of the pontificate of Pope John Paul II and is at the forefront of the strong and wise leadership of Pope Benedict XVI.
Pope John Paul II’s Encyclical Letter "Ut Unum Sint" (On the Commitment to Ecumenism, literally "May They Be One") was a monumental contribution to this "spiritual process" of authentic ecumenism.
Among his many encyclicals, apostolic letters and exhortations, it is one of the least understood. In it he proposed a path toward the full communion of the Church. He affirmed that there is no retreat from the ecumenical task and that the "way of ecumenism is the way of the Church"
His Apostolic Letter, Orientale Lumen (The Light of the East), promulgated on May 2, 1995, the Feast of St. Athanasius, was oriented toward healing the rift between the Orthodox and Catholic Churches. His return of the bones of Gregory of Nazianzus and John Chrysostom, pre-division archbishops of Constantinople, was one in a series of profound gestures toward the Orthodox and, in particular Patriarch Bartholomew I.
They were also prophetic in nature.
Pope Benedict has not only mentioned these actions regularly, but has continued the work, acting in a prophetic and pastoral manner on this vital front.
John Paul wrote regularly of the "two lungs" of Christianity breathing together once again in the Third Millennium. Benedict the Builder seems ready to help resuscitate the one New Man.
If, as the Second vatican Council so clearly proclaimed, the "fullness of truth subsists" in the Catholic Church - and I believe that it does - that gives we who are Catholic the highest responsibilty. From "those to whom much is given", said the Lord, "much is required." This truth claim should not make us haughty, but humble, and ready to pray and work.
I am a "revert" to the Catholic Church. I wandered back home, after my wayward teenage years, to again embrace my deeply held Catholic faith. Though this is the faith that I had been raised in, my return came after a "search for truth" during the period sometimes referred to as the age of the "counter culture".
This search for truth led me to make my childhood faith my own; to seriously consider the claims of the Gospel after years of living as a "cultural" Catholic with no real integration of my faith with my daily life.
Among the many questions that troubled me in my journey back to faith was why the Christian Church was broken, splintered and seemingly at odds, camp against camp, for an entire millennium. This question led me to a study of Church History.
My concern for understanding the causes of the great divide between East and West led me through the Patristic literature and rooted within me a deep love for the Eastern Church Fathers.
My concern over the divisions in the West, led me to study the writings of the Protestant Reformers. This study actually led me even more fully into the Catholic Church into which I had been baptized as a child and confirmed in as an early teenager.
I love the Catholic faith. I am deeply appreciative of the fullness that is Catholic Christian faith, worship, teaching and life. However, perhaps as a result of the journey, as well as a sense of a personal spiritual vocation, I have carried a lifelong burden to see the prayer of Jesus, recorded in St. John, Chapter 17, answered.
Into a world that is fractured, divided, wounded, filled with "sides" and "camps" at enmity with one another, the Catholic Church is called to proclaim, by both word and deed, the unifying love of a living God.
The heart of the "Gospel" (literally "Good News"), is the message that in and through Jesus Christ, authentic unity with God - and through Him, in the Spirit, with one another- is not only possible but is the plan of God for the entire human race.
In Jesus Christ, we are invited into communion with God the Father. In Him, we find communion with one another. In Him we are invited into the world that He still loves to carry forward in time His redemptive mission.
In His "High Priestly Prayer", the Son of God still prays to the Father, "…that they may all be one". Yet, in His Church, His Body on earth, that unity is not present, at least not yet. We are broken, at enmity with one another, and we sometimes fail to take the call to unity seriously.
There is a reciprocal relationship revealed in the sacred words contained in this continuing prayer of Jesus. The world will believe the message we proclaim - and respond to invitation inherent within our mission- when we demonstrate our own unity of love with one another.
The prayer of the Son of God will be answered; the only question is how soon it will happen. In some wonderful way, we who are Christians can help to hasten that day by the way we choose to live with one another. That is the message that the great apostle Paul proclaims to the Ephesian Christians.
"Brothers and sisters: I, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to live in a manner worthy of the call you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another through love, striving to preserve the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace; one Body and one Spirit, as you were also called to the one hope of your call; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all." Ephesians 4: 1-6
Paul was the apostle of unity between the early Jewish and Gentile believers who were deeply divided. He knew the corrosive effect of divisions within the Body of Christ. His words urge us to "live in a manner worthy of the call".
There is still only "…one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and father of all". The God who is One, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, places the impulse toward Christian unity in our hearts. This call to unity in Jesus Christ must become the heart cry of the entire Christian Church so that this prayer be fulfilled; and so that the "world may know".
In his Encyclical letter on Christian unity (signed on the Feast of the Ascension in 1995), Pope John Paul II not only reaffirmed that the "spiritual process" of ecumenism is an integral part of the Churches Mission, he also raised the stakes.
He called for the use of a new language in our relationships with other Christians. He affirmed our foundational unity in one Baptism. The late Pope underscored the language of communion as the way of the vocabulary to be used in authentic ecumenical efforts:
"42. It happens for example that, in the spirit of the Sermon on the Mount, Christians of one confession no longer consider other Christians as enemies or strangers but see them as brothers and sisters. Again, the very expression ‘separated brethren’ tends to be replaced today by expressions which more readily evoke the deep communion linked to the baptismal character which the Spirit fosters in spite of historical and canonical divisions. Today we speak of "other Christians", "others who have received Baptism", and "Christians of other Communities"."
The ecumenical mission of the Church was at the heart of John Paul’s pontificate, and is at the heart of Pope Benedict’s, because it is reveals the longing of the heart of the Lord. To be a faithful Catholic is to long for the full communion of the Church.
The late Pope John Paul called all of the faithful to carry forward the task of ecumenism with a practical and spiritual urgency:
"40. Relations between Christians are not aimed merely at mutual knowledge, common prayer and dialog. They presuppose and from now on call for every possible form of practical cooperation at all levels: pastoral, cultural and social, as well as that of witnessing to the Gospel message.
"Cooperation among all Christians vividly expresses that bond which already unites them, and it sets in clearer relief the features of Christ the Servant". This cooperation based on our common faith is not only filled with fraternal communion, but is a manifestation of Christ himself.
Moreover, ecumenical cooperation is a true school of ecumenism, a dynamic road to unity. Unity of action leads to the full unity of faith: "Through such cooperation, all believers in Christ are able to learn easily how they can understand each other better and esteem each other more, and how the road to the unity of Christians may be made smooth. In the eyes of the world, cooperation among Christians becomes a form of common Christian witness and a means of evangelization which benefits all involved."
In a wonderful interview with then Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger (published under the title "Salt of the Earth" by Ignatius Press), the Cardinal was asked a question concerning John Paul II's vision of Christian unity for the Third Millennium.
The cardinal, now our Pope, told the interviewer that this was foremost in the heart of the Holy Father. Pope John Paul II believed that whereas the first millennium was a millennium of union and the second a millennium of disunion, the third would be a millennium of re-union:
"The Pope does indeed cherish a great expectation that the millennium of divisions will be followed by a millennium of unifications. He has in some sense the vision that the first Christian millennium was a millennium of Christian unity-there were schisms, as we know, but there was still the unity of East and West; the second millennium was the millennium of great divisions; and that now, precisely at the end, we could discover a new unity through a great common reflection. His whole ecumenical effort stands in this historical-philosophical perspective. He is convinced that the Second Vatican Council, with its yes to ecumenism and its call to ecumenism, is part of this historical philosophical movement."
Now, this profound theologian, this man of deep prayer and communion with the Lord, occupies the Chair of Peter and bears the name Benedict XVI. He has made authentic ecumenism a priority of his service to the Church and the world into which she is sent.
As we approach the great feast of Pentecost, may we join with him, in prayer and in action and walk the way of authentic ecumenism.

What are your thoughts on virtually participating in the March for Life? 'Fight against terror pretext for waging wars’
ReplyDeletePress TV (January 21, 2010)

M in Dallas,
ReplyDeleteI took a look through the link you posted and I have to say I have mixed feelings.
ReplyDelete___________________________________
ReplyDeleteHowever, we all should worry about our money, regardless of what Obama tries to do.

DavidinBC,
ReplyDeleteObama may not be able to get away with this on his own, but he can with help, and that he has plenty of.

ReplyDeleteI have sent more info to your gmail which both substantiates and in a way explains the project Susanna and I have been working on. It covers RFID, and how it will be implemented and why. I can't stress enough, YOU NEED TO SEE THIS.
JD,
ReplyDeleteUntil I see such an over-haul of Wall Street become more of a reality, I will remain skeptical. I'm quite surprized that health care reform has seemed to fizzle. I thought it was a sure thing. Not because of any real health care benefit, but due to what is hidden in the "transparency."
DavidinBC,
ReplyDeleteWall street will most probably be next.
Obama's restructuring of our financial system...
ReplyDeleteSome are asking how could Obama reorg, for example, JP Morgan...
Dave in CA
Thanks,JD, I'll go do a search for my email from you and Susanna and do my homework NOW
ReplyDeleteConstance
DaveinCA,
ReplyDeleteActually you're partly right.
Constance,
ReplyDeleteThe email was forwarded from me.

a friend asked this question and i'd like to run it by all of you wise people who i've come to respect...if the midpoint is coming up in 2010 wouldn't the two witnesses have already appeared on the scene? don't they witness for 1260 days leading up to the midpoint?
ReplyDeleteAnon 11:55pm
ReplyDeleteThe two witnesses can also be heaven and earth
1Co 15:46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

re: the 2 witnesses
ReplyDeleteAnon 12:42, you talked about the speculation of the two witnesses possibly being heaven and earth, or the old and new testament.

ReplyDeleteYour getting warmer.

ReplyDeleteThis is a rather complicated issue. As you know, Sarah Palin refused to abort her autistic child even though she was encouraged to do so.
Even now they still are studying the cause of autism.
Because the Orthodox do not abort their children and yet want to involve them in the community, there has been interest in understanding the autistic.

Impairment can range from mild to severe.
As you can see, ‘the research found that single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in 27 out of the 68 genes were nominally associated with either AS and/or with autistic traits/empathy.’
(The Hub is just a publishing site.

ReplyDeleteArmy’s New PTSD Treatments: Yoga, Reiki, ‘Bioenergy’
By Noah Shachtman
The military is scrambling for new ways to treat the brain injuries and post-traumatic stress of troops returning home from war. And every kind of therapy — no matter how far outside the accepted medical form — is being considered. The Army just unveiled a $4 million program to investigate everything from "spiritual ministry, transcendental meditation,
[and] yoga" to "bioenergies such as Qi gong, Reiki, [and] distant healing" to mend the psyches of wounded troops.
(Continued . . .)
ReplyDeleteThe program also wants to investigate the "perceptions" of these treatments, and any "gender-specific implications and issues" involved.

Bro. Jeff:
ReplyDeleteYou make a good point.

ReplyDelete"That ... is essentially what PTSD exposure-based therapies are about," Reger said.

Comprehensive PTSD Treatment Program

“And so we’ve come with all the evidence-based treatment for PTSD that we know about … We’ve taken everything that we can think of that will be of use in redirecting symptoms for these folks and put it into an eight-week program.”
cont
cont
ReplyDeleteBrown, Pehm and Sharon Stewart, a Red Cross volunteer who recently received a Psy.D. in psychology, said the program is designed from research into the effects of traumatic experience and mirrors successful PTSD programs at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as programs run by psychologists in the U.S.
Cognitive processing therapy attempts to readdress experiences and reshift a soldier’s perceptions.
cont
Prolonged exposure therapy is behaviorally based and addresses a soldier’s fears, which are seen as reflex reactions to a stimulus. To decondition the reactions, a patient is continually exposed to the stimulus by retelling the story repeatedly, minus the negative outcome. Brown compared it to riding a roller coaster over and over again to overcome a fear of roller coasters.
ReplyDelete“So they’re getting EMDR, they’re getting cognitive processing therapy, they’re getting individual therapy, they’re getting group therapy, they’re getting education, anger management, self-esteem, relationship issues, grief and loss, yoga, meditation exercise, skill building -- a little bit of everything across the board,” said Brown.
Thus far, the staff outnumbers the program’s participants.
cont
cont
ReplyDelete“By design we started out small, and we were able to establish a really good working relationship with the local Warrior Transition Unit people … It’s been a wonderful working relationship with them,” said Pehm.

It has a plethora of New Age thinkers.
eww JD, that is taking effective tools such as CBT and EMDR, coupling it with new age spirituality in order to treat trauma. Not shocking really. As a psychologist, always have been disturbed about using "dissociative" techniques for those with issues in dissociation due to trauma.

ReplyDeleteYes, but the Creator is perfectly capable of teaching us more than one thing at a time and having things be true over and over again, or on many levels.
In the Hebraic mindset, more than one thing can be true for the same scripture and this does not negate either of the truths.
peacebringer7:
ReplyDeleteCan you go into more details about that what prompted someone to suggest "The Shadow Effect" to someone who was critical of "The Shack"?

ReplyDeleteHere is the Jewish Action article:
A Living Lesson in Inclusion
By Bayla Sheva Brenner
Continued
The Goreliks enrolled Eli in a special program for children with developmental disabilities, where his responsiveness improved. “His world capacity is limited,” says Rabbi Gorelik. “Whereas you and I can talk about things outside of our experience, his interest lies solely in his own world.”
ReplyDeleteThere’s No Place Like . . .
Continued
Over the years, Eli’s role in the synagogue has expanded—he is now also the official proofreader of the calendar. “He’s always been intrigued by calendars and has the eye to notice inconsistencies,” says his father. “On [last year’s] Rosh Hashanah schedule, he found a number of mistakes. He pointed out to me that a service should have been listed as 7:00 rather than 7:20. He also noticed that another service wasn’t mentioned.” Now, each month, the synagogue sends Eli a draft of the calendar to proofread.
ReplyDeleteWhen Eli’s not in Passaic for Shabbat, he’s at a National Council for Disabilities (NCJD) weekend offering his inimitable help.

Being a parent of a child with autism, I can tell you the most widely used therapeutic approach is something called Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). It is the therapy that had demonstrated profound improvements in children with autism.
ReplyDeleteWith my son Kaleb we have used primarily a play therapy based approach combined with some ABA techniques.

Not sure how EMDR fits or Cogntive therapy fits into that mix, but generally any tool can be used to an effect. Essentially if using pyschogenics they are manipulating damaged hearts and souls. ReplyDeleteI will get the materials pulled and sent out to you.

JD,
ReplyDeleteI am a Mental Health professional,God has called me to work with broken people and heal and help restore broken heart and souls.
Oh and JD, when I look it over I will try and explain what I suspect is going on with the psychological dynamics being tried/used.
ReplyDeleteTim,
ReplyDeleteSince you are in mental health, I will ask you this.
Tim,
ReplyDeleteI suspect we may be thinking along the same lines. I also think once you start reading what it is I am going to send you, you will be all but convinced. It may take me a little bit to get to it tonight, but I will send the info as soon as I can.

ReplyDeleteJD,
ReplyDeleteSince not a pyschiatrist, did not know about the neural pathways.

ReplyDeleteI believe autism often comes from mercury and other substances in immunizations.
Yes, science enabled us to cut through and dispense with superstition, but it also gave us a feeling that we can rule the world, change the world into whatever we want. a mistake.

ReplyDeleteDid you read Chuck Baldwin's latest?

I will definitely pray for Sharon and all those touched by her life.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking to myself earlier today that Constance might purchase Raj Patel's book. The "Value of Nothing" for
Oh, I guess I should add a D) none of the above because he truly says what he means.
ReplyDeleteNow, on Mr.
ReplyDeleteTim,
ReplyDeleteMy fault, I did see it when I reviewed the link, but forgot to update here.
DavidinBC,
Creme started out his operation through Tara Centre, which at the time worked VERY closely with Lucis Trust. At one point Creme and his associates even had NGO status with the UN. It may be possible that one entity has brought too much heat on themselves, so there is a disassociation to protect the other. Make no mistake though David they are very related.
Tim Blake,

ReplyDeleteYou may want to pay close attention to the World Economic Forum as well. I have a sinking suspicion about what a major theme of the forum may be this year. I just took a look at the themes this year, which when taken in context with what I know to be happening are not good.
from WEF
Purpose
Improving the state of the world requires catalysing global cooperation to address pressing challenges and future risks. Global cooperation in turn needs stakeholders from business, government, the media, science, religion, the arts and civil society to collaborate as a true community. To this end, the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting has engaged leaders from all walks of life to shape the global agenda at the start of the year for the last four decades.
Rethink, Redesign and Rebuild
In response to new priorities, the organizing theme for the 40th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in 2010 is a call to action, "Improve the State of the World: Rethink, Redesign, Rebuild".
Thematic Pillars of the Programme
The programme will focus on the following six areas of inquiry and their global, regional and industry dimensions:
How to Strengthen Economic and Social Welfare
How to Mitigate Global Risks and Address Systemic Failures
How to Ensure Sustainability
How to Enhance Security
How to Create a Values Framework
How to Build Effective Institutions

ReplyDeleteActually as I look through all of the plenary meetings and who is involved I know I won't like what comes out of this. Now it becomes how much won't I like it?
Raj Patel has certainly noticed the chatter regarding people's suspicions he might be Maitreya. He actually wrote a response on his blog:
ReplyDeletehttp://tinyurl.com/yd2bdl4
Here's some excerpts:
"Call Me Brian

ReplyDeleteThe main character, Brian, happens to have been born on the same night, but in the next stable over from "you know who".
The key thing to keep in mind about this comparison is that "Brian", despite repeated denials, eventually, albeit reluctantly, does end up taking on the mantle of a "messiah", of sorts.
How very interesting that RA, I mean Rav, grasps the similarities.

ReplyDeleteI don't like having to do this, but Alex Jones is about as credible for information as the Onion.
OMOTS,
ReplyDeleteVery interesting analysis. That Patel would refer to himself in such a connontation while answering such a question is a bit puzzling. Maybe Patel wants to keep the speculation going to drive book sales, then in the end he can simply state that he already said he wasn't the guy, despite the inuendo.
Always look on the bright side of life.
ReplyDeleteMore musings on the Raj-Brian-Maitreya matrix....
Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...
And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...
If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing.
And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...
For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.
So always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath
Life's a piece of shit
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
And always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the right side of life...
(Come on guys, cheer up!)
Always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the bright side of life...
(Worse things happen at sea, you know.)
Always look on the bright side of life...
(I mean - what have you got to lose?)
(You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing.
What have you lost? Nothing!)
Always look on the right side of life...

ReplyDeleteEarthquake weapons..
The Saints are in the Superbowl!
omots
OMOTS,
ReplyDeleteI have looked enough into manipulation of ELF waves and HAARP to know the possibility is real.
According to Wikipedia:
ReplyDeleteA ubiquitous city or U-city is a city or region with ubiquitous information technology. All information systems are linked, and virtually everything is linked to an information system through technologies such as wireless networking and RFID tags.

". . . Already it is clear that Ashton does not have a strategy for dealing with crises. Compare her response to Haiti with that of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. The same plane would then be used to fly 50 Americans back home.

Clinton looks engaged, empathetic, and committed; Ashton looks aloof, disinterested, and out-of-touch. The comparison shows precisely what Ashton is not. She is not a globetrotting, high-profile, diplomatic heavyweight. She is not a foreign minister or secretary of state. She is also not experienced. She is not ready.

"I am guessing the thread implies HAARP or a black op of some sort, so let me give you a little advice. If you want to suggest something of this nature, you better have evidence."
___________________________________
ReplyDeleteMy questions are somewhat rhetorical.

Rob in London,
ReplyDeleteI just read your post.

Pope wants unity around virgin Mary, «the Mother of the Church»
January 28, 2010
«The Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, says yes that Her Son’s wish is realized as soon as possible, that they may all be one… that the world may believe».

On Earthquakes:
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't seem big but here in central Oklahoma, we have had several earthquakes ranging from 2.5-4.0 for the last several months. Back in August we had 9 in a twenty four hour period. The 4.0 was the largest of all of them and was on Jan 15 which was our 5th of this month.

This is article is a little funny because they have since put in some special earthquake equipment.

2010 - Beginning last Sunday, there have been over 1,000 earthquakes registered at Yellowstone
Super Volcano. The largest of the series measured at 3.8 magnitude. If they reach the 4.0+
magnitude, it will most likely call for increased cautionary monitoring and perhaps a call
for public 'watch!"

Re: China earthquake
ReplyDeleteFrom what I can gather, there doesn't appear to have been an actual earthquake, based on people who have talked to persons in China.
Susanna, Marko,
ReplyDeleteI have now seen similar reports from people in China.
JD,
ReplyDeleteLike you said, there are a lot of data streams recording something in that area. Here's one from Taiwan:

If you compare it to the one in China, they are almost identical, including what looks like some smaller event on 1/28 at around 10:05.

Perhaps now would be a good time to review how a spider creates a web:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.haworth-village.org.uk/nature/how/spider-web.asp
Thank God.

ReplyDeleteThis is why I believe that the period of time we are entering will be characterized by continuous "wars and rumors of wars", all the talk of peace to the contrary.

Commentary: The Way of Authentic Ecumenism
ReplyDeleteBy Deacon Keith Fournier

Catholic Online
Ecumenism cont. 1:07pm
ReplyDeleteIf, as the Second vatican Council so clearly proclaimed, the "fullness of truth subsists" in the Catholic Church - and I believe that it does - that gives we who are Catholic the highest responsibilty.
Ecumenism cont part 3 1:07am
ReplyDeleteThe heart of God breaks.
Ecumenism cont part 4 1:07am
ReplyDeleteMoreover, ecumenical cooperation is a true school of ecumenism, a dynamic road to unity.
Marko,
