TEA PARTIERS TAKE AIM AT MAJOR MEDIA OUTLETS
The Tea Party movement -- a group of conservative protestors opposed to massive government spending -- are taking to the streets again, this time targeting the media.
FOXNews.com
Saturday, October 17, 2009
The "tea party" movement is back.
Groups of conservative protesters opposed to massive government spending are taking to the streets again, this time targeting the media.
The "Can You Hear Us Now" rallies are planned for Saturday in front of NBC studios in Burbank, CNN in Atlanta and affiliate stations of NBC, ABC and CBS across the nation.
"American citizens outraged by President Obama and the actions of Congress have set their sights on a new target -- the so-called mainstream media -- with tea-party protests now set to boil in front of more than 30 press offices across the U.S.," the lead organizing group, FaxDC, wrote in a press release.
Organizers are encouraging protesters to also rally outside of The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times and other prominent newspapers.
The rallies are just the latest in a series of public displays of voter outrage, dating back at least to April, when simultaneous "tea parties" were held around the country, largely in protest of President Obama's $787 billion stimulus bill..

ReplyDeleteI wanted to comment about the article referencing the Bible burners who were planning to roast all but the KJV. The KJV-only crowd is itself a cult. If they were to do a bit of research, they would find that the "sacred" KJV was taken from the Latin Vulgate and NOT from earliest transcripts. Consequently, there are some errors in it. This is not to mention the fact that the King James English is not the easiest for modern society to read.
It's best to do a little bit of research to understand the background on the various translations to know the benefits and limitations of each one. There are no perfect translations as some of the meanings of colloquialisms and idiomatic phrases just do not translate well.
Having said this I would exhort everyone to steer clear of Eugene Peterson's "The Message" as this is not a translation but a paraphrase. There are MANY New Age ideals sprinkled in, the most egregious of which -- to me anyway -- is what is commonly known as "The Lord's Prayer" in Matthew 6:9-13. The phrase "on earth as it is in heaven" is perverted to "As Above, So Below!"
Peterson actually uses the Lord's name in vain in his paraphrase of Micah 3:5-7:

DIRE WARNING FROM LORD MONCKTON
ReplyDeleteOn October 14th 2009, Lord Christopher Monckton, a noted climate change expert, gave a presentation at Bethel College in St. Paul, MN in which he issued a dire warning,.....
http://www.youtube.com
/watch?v=ddQvhdCyhe4
Here is the transcript of Lord Monckton's chilling closing remarks on the Copenhagen Treaty:
ReplyDeleteAt [the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference in] Copenhagen, this December, weeks away, a treaty will be signed. Your president will sign it. Most of the third world countries will sign it, because they think they’re going to get money out of it. Most of the left-wing regime from the European Union will rubber stamp it. Virtually nobody won’t sign it.
I read that treaty. And what it says is this, that a world government is going to be created. The word “government” actually appears as the first of three purposes of the new entity. The second purpose is the transfer of wealth from the countries of the West to third world countries, in satisfication of what is called, coyly, “climate debt” – because we’ve been burning CO2 and they haven’t. We’ve been screwing up the climate and they haven’t. And the third purpose of this new entity, this government, is enforcement.
How many of you think that the word “election” or “democracy” or “vote” or “ballot” occurs anywhere in the 200 pages of that treaty? Quite right, it doesn’t appear once. So, at last, the communists who piled out of the Berlin Wall and into the environmental movement, who took over Greenpeace so that my friends who funded it left within a year, because [the communists] captured it – Now the apotheosis as at hand. They are about to impose a communist world government on the world. You have a president who has very strong sympathies with that point of view. He’s going to sign it. He’ll sign anything. He’s a Nobel Peace Prize [winner]; of course he’ll sign it.
[laughter]
And the trouble is this; if that treaty is signed, if your Constitution says that it takes precedence over your Constitution (sic), and you can’t resign from that treaty unless you get agreement from all the other state parties – And because you’ll be the biggest paying country, they’re not going to let you out of it.
So, thank you, America. You were the beacon of freedom to the world. It is a privilege merely to stand on this soil of freedom while it is still free. But, in the next few weeks, unless you stop it, your president will sign your freedom, your democracy, and your humanity away forever. And neither you nor any subsequent government you may elect will have any power whatsoever to take it back. That is how serious it is. I’ve read the treaty. I’ve seen this stuff about [world] government and climate debt and enforcement. They are going to do this to you whether you like it or not.
But I think it is here, here in your great nation, which I so love and I so admire – it is here that perhaps, at this eleventh hour, at the fifty-ninth minute and fifty-ninth second, you will rise up and you will stop your president from signing that dreadful treaty, that purposeless treaty. For there is no problem with climate and, even if there were, an economic treaty does nothing to [help] it.
So I end by saying to you the words that Winston Churchill addressed to your president in the darkest hour before the dawn of freedom in the Second World War. He quoted from your great poet Longfellow:
Sail on, O Ship of State!
Sail on, O Union, strong and great!
Humanity with all its fears,
With all the hopes of future years,
Is hanging breathless on thy fate!"

Wow, things are REAllY heating up. All that you predicted is happening.
ReplyDeleteIt's time for Our Lord to take over now. As you said a few threads back, Constance, come very quickly, Lord Jesus.
Susanna, thanks for the full speech of Lord Monkton.
Mariel
Dear Mariel , Leana and all,
ReplyDeleteI just happened to come across Lord Monckton's speech as I was surfing Free Republic. This Copenhagen Treaty is related to the Cap and Trade fiasco, and as Lord Monckton pointed out, the socialist third world crapholes that want most to participate are doing so more for the "redistribution of wealth" they believe it embodies than for any promised environmental benefits.
It has been reported that there do not appear to be any meaningful mandates in the Copenhagen Treaty that would require China to clean up her act in terms of environmental pollution?
As a memory refresher, here is the lowdown on the Kyoto Protocol. I am highlighting some of the key points here. You will notice that the United States ( the Senate) did NOT ratify the Kyoto Protocol for economic considerations.
As Lord Monckton pointed out, the United States ( a.k.a. the taxpayers) would be the "biggest payer." I would add that the United States would be the "biggest payer," but not necessarily the "biggest polluter."
The article about the Kyoto Protocol will probably give you a hint as to why it was not ratified by the United States:
FINANCIAL COMMITMENTS
The Protocol also reaffirms the principle that developed countries have to pay billions of dollars, and supply technology to other countries for climate-related studies and projects. The principle was originally agreed in UNFCCC.
EMISSIONS TRADING
Kyoto provides for a 'cap and trade' system which imposes national caps on the emissions of annex I countries. On average, this cap requires countries to reduce their emissions by 5.2% below their 1990 baseline over the 2008 to 2012 period. Although these caps are national-level commitments, in practice, most countries will devolve their emissions targets to individual industrial entities, such as a power plant or paper factory. One example of a 'cap and trade' system is the 'EU ETS'. Other schemes may follow suit in time....
REVISIONS
The protocol left several issues open to be decided later by the sixth Conference of Parties (COP). COP6 attempted to resolve these issues at its meeting in the Hague in late 2000, but was unable to reach an agreement due to disputes between the European Union on the one hand (which favoured a tougher agreement) and the United States, Canada, Japan and Australia on the other (which wanted the agreement to be less demanding and more flexible).
In 2001, a continuation of the previous meeting (COP6bis) was held in Bonn where the required decisions were adopted. After some concessions, the supporters of the protocol (led by the European Union) managed to get Japan and Russia in as well by allowing more use of carbon dioxide sinks.....
cont......
cont...
ReplyDeleteENFORCEMENT
If the enforcement branch determines that an annex I country is not in compliance with its emissions limitation, then that country is required to make up the difference plus an additional 30%. In addition, that country will be suspended from making transfers under an emissions trading program.
CURRENT POSITIONS OF GOVERNMENTS
UNITED STATES
The United States (U.S.), although a signatory to the Kyoto Protocol, has neither ratified nor withdrawn from the Protocol. The signature alone is merely symbolic, as the Kyoto Protocol is non-binding on the United States unless ratified. The United States was, as of at least 2005, the largest per capita emitter of carbon dioxide from the burning of fossil fuels. The America's Climate Security Act of 2007, also more commonly referred to in the U.S. as the "Cap and Trade Bill", was proposed for greater U.S. alignment with the Kyoto standards and goals. That bill was almost 500 pages long, and would have provided for establishment of a federal bureau of Carbon Trading, Regulation, and Enforcement with mandates which some authorities suggest would amount to the largest tax increase in the history of the United States.
On 25 July 1997, before the Kyoto Protocol was finalized (although it had been fully negotiated, and a penultimate draft was finished), the U.S. Senate unanimously passed by a 95–0 vote the Byrd-Hagel Resolution (S. Res. 98), which stated the sense of the Senate was that the United States should not be a signatory to any protocol that did not include binding targets and timetables for developing nations as well as industrialized nations or "would result in serious harm to the economy of the United States". On 12 November 1998, Vice President Al Gore symbolically signed the protocol. Both Gore and Senator Joseph Lieberman indicated that the protocol would not be acted upon in the Senate until there was participation by the developing nations. The Clinton Administration never submitted the protocol to the Senate for ratification.......read entire article...

Constance
Lord Monckton received a standing ovation and took a series of questions from members of the audience. Among those questions were these relevent to the forthcoming Copenhagen treaty:
ReplyDeleteQuestion:
The current administration and the Democratic majority in Congress has shown little regard for the will of the people. They’re trying to pass a serious government agenda, and serious taxation and burdens on future generations. And there seems to be little to stop them. How do you propose we stop Obama from doing this, because I see no way to stop him from signing anything in Copenhagen. I believe that’s his agenda and he’ll do it.
Answer:
I don’t minimize the difficulty. But on this subject – I don’t really do politics, because it’s not right. In the end, your politics is for you. The correct procedure is for you to get onto your representatives, both in the US Senate where the bill has yet to go through (you can try and stop that) and in [the House], and get them to demand their right of audience (which they all have) with the president and tell him about this treaty. There are many very powerful people in this room, wealthy people, influential people. Get onto the media, tell them about this treaty. If they go to www.wattsupwiththat.com, they will find (if they look carefully enough) a copy of that treaty, because I arranged for it to be posted there not so long ago. Let them read it, and let the press tell the people that their democracy is about to be taken away for no good purpose, at least [with] no scientific basis [in reference to climate change]. Tell the press to say this. Tell the press to say that, even if there is a problem [with climate change], you don’t want your democracy taken away. It really is as simple as that.
Question:
Is it really irrevocable if that treaty is signed? Suppose it’s signed by someone who does not have the authority, as I – I have some, a high degree of skepticism that we do have a valid president there because I -
Answer:
I know at least one judge who shares your opinion, sir, yes.
Question:
I don’t believe it until I see it. … Would [Obama's potential illegitimacy as president] give us a reasonable cause to nullify whatever treaty that he does sign as president?
Answer:
I would be very careful not to rely on things like that. Although there is a certain amount of doubt whether or not he was born in Hawaii, my fear is it would be very difficult to prove he wasn’t born in Hawaii and therefore we might not be able to get anywhere with that. Besides, once he’s signed that treaty, whether or not he signed it validly, once he’s signed it and ratified it – your Senate ratifies it – you’re bound by it. But I will say one thing; they know, in the White House, that they won’t be able to get the 67 votes in the Senate, the two-thirds majority that your Constitution has stipulated must be achieved in order to ratify a treaty of this kind. However, what they’ve worked out is this – and they actually let it slip during the election campaign, which is how I know about it. They plan to enact that Copenhagen treaty into legislation by a simple majority of both houses. That they can do. But the virtue of that – and here you have a point – is that is, thank God, reversible. So I want you to pray tonight, and pray hard for your Senate that they utterly refuse to ratify the [new] Treaty of Copenhagen, because if they refuse to ratify it and [Obama] has to push it through as domestic legislation, you can repeal it.

Gee. Didn't we fight a Revolution around 1775 over the issue of "No taxation without representation???"

The old Hegelian dialectic springs to mind, along with the ordo ab chao, create the chaos and gain the order at a faster rate. The same game as that shill alex Jones, that's why Alex is still alive and free - he's one of them. This guy, Monckton, is a Knight of Malta, which is evidenced on page 106 & 107 of his powerpoint presentation, p.107 is very psychodelic and new age, downloadable at:
http://www.friendsofscience.org/assets/documents/monckton_2009.pdf
He'll tell you a lot of truth, sprinkled with just enough deception so as to cause hysteria, that old leaven of the Pharasees that ruins the whole dough. How many people are prepared to take up arms now, instead of informing others and doing things peacefully. An uprising of the sort implied by that knight of Malta mason will only result in martial law.
By the way, Thatcher was a two-faced liar. She ruined the ability for this (UK)country to be self-sufficient, closing the mine, steel-works, selling off the car industry etc, said no in public to Europe, and signed every whim and demand of Europe in the affirmative, and thus into English and Scots Law, destroying our sovereignty. This guy was her policy advisor? Be warned!

Churches involved in torture, murder of thousands of African children denounced as witches
This Aug. 18, 2009 photo shows children accused of witchcraft waiting for food at the Children's Rights and Rehabilitation Network in Eket, Nigeria. The idea of witchcraft is hardly new, but it has taken on new life recently partly because of a rapid growth in evangelical Christianity. Campaigners against the practice say around 15,000 children have been accused in two of Nigeria's 36 states over the past decade and around 1,000 have been murdered. (AP Photo/Sunday Alamba) (SUNDAY ALAMBA, AP / August 18, 2009)
His family pastor had accused him of being a witch, and his father then tried to force acid down his throat as an exorcism. It spilled as he struggled, burning away his face and eyes. The emaciated boy barely had strength left to whisper the name of the church that had denounced him — Mount Zion Lighthouse.
A month later, he died.
Nwanaokwo Edet was one of an increasing number of children in Africa accused of witchcraft by pastors and then tortured or killed, often by family members. Pastors were involved in half of 200 cases of "witch children" reviewed by the AP, and 13 churches were named in the case files.
Some of the churches involved are renegade local branches of international franchises. Their parishioners take literally the Biblical exhortation, "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live."
"It is an outrage what they are allowing to take place in the name of Christianity," said Gary Foxcroft, head of nonprofit Stepping Stones Nigeria.

I met him on September 23, 1983 in Kansas City, Missouri where I had flown to speak at a Full Gospel Businessmen Conference. I rode with the couple organizing the event to the Kansas City airport. My recollection of Benny Hinn was that he was most preoccupied with the need to go to a department store to purchase Aramis Cologne.

Anyone who plans to see the film Men Who Stare at Goats can get background from Constance in her August 20, 2009 post on Jim Channon. On that thread you'll also find Susanna's commentary on the book and film.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I didn't post anything on the Copenhagen meeting as there was already enough information available. Susanna carried the ball most of the time on that one.

A lament.
Was last year's Irish vote to reject the Lisbon treaty a mortal blow to Solana's aspirations? Sure looked like it, but then he seems to have recovered pretty miraculously following the subsequent Irish capitulation.

Dorothy,
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for your information on THE LOST SYMBOL by Dan Brown.
I wasn't going to bother reading the book, but because you have informed us that the novel centers around the Institute of Noetic Sciences, I am certainly going to make it a point to read it now for research purposes.
Much in the way of interesting data can often be gleaned from such works of fiction.
For example, in Dan Brown's novel ANGELS AND DEMONS, the "God particle" is a component of the story. I happen to own that book and intend to reread it now that I understand what the "God particle" is supposed to represent.
Here is a little clip from the movie trailer for ANGELS AND DEMONS which is based on Dan Brown's book of the same title. The "God particle" is mentioned here.

Meet the Senators in the Creepy Right-Wing Cult Trying to Defeat Health Care Reform
ReplyDeleteIn the heat of summer, a din of voices arose from the U.S. Senate in opposition to the health care reform legislation that was taking shape in both houses of Congress. Overlooked in media coverage of the health care brouhaha is the membership of many of the senators who most vociferously oppose the legislation in the right-wing religious cult known as The Family.
With the Senate Finance Committee's passage last Tuesday of its version of health care legislation, expect the debate to flare again as the bill moves to the Senate floor. The Family's point men -- "key men" in the cult's theological lexicon -- will likely try once again to defeat reform in the service of their Supply-Side Jesus.
You could chalk it up to nothing more than pure partisanship, this obstructionism on the part of these Republicans. Or you could say that the ideology-cum-theology of The Family, which has spent decades consolidating power within the GOP, has at last come to dominate the party even among those who do not belong to the cult.
While leaders of religious right we've come to know assert their claim to "a place at the table," The Family sets its table for only a select few. They are the nation's powerful: senators, congressmen, business executives and the strong-armed leaders of Third World countries. Together, in secret, they worship a Jesus unrecognizable to most practicing Christians. (In their secret theology, the leadership model of Adolf Hitler is one of which Jesus would approve.)
The people of South Carolina, Oklahoma, Iowa, Nevada, Kansas and Wyoming find themselves represented by at least one U.S. senator who belongs to The Family. If he subscribes to the theology of the cult of which he is a member, the senator believes himself to be anointed to his lofty position by Jesus himself -- a Jesus who tells him that his constituents' health care dilemmas are of no consequence to God; they are just the natural order of things as deemed by him.
The Jesus worshiped by The Family is neither Jesus the peacemaker, the champion of the poor, nor even Christ the personal savior. He is Jesus the power broker, who works his will through well-situated men committed to free enterprise of a most unregulated sort.
Things are as they are in the world because that's the way God wants them. The poor are poor because God ordained it to be so -- a condition that they may have earned through disobedience to the creator. The powerful are powerful -- be they murderous dictators or corporate polluters -- because they are God's chosen. Any regulated economic system, according to this theology, is less than godly, because regulation forestalls the exercise of free will.
Sens. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, and Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., Family members who did their bit to slow down reform in their roles on the negotiating team for the Senate Finance Committee health care reform bill, remain unmoved by the 865 preventable deaths suffered each week by people without access to proper health care.
cont
cont
ReplyDeleteThe God of The Family's teaching would never hold Grassley or Enzi -- or any other official -- to account for those deaths, because Grassley and Enzi are key men in God's plan.
Even Grassley's dishonest campaign to convince his constituents that President Barack Obama is looking to use health care reform to "pull the plug on Grandma" -- God is just fine with that, because Grassley is doing exactly what God wants him to do, preserving the social order.
Not His Brother's Keeper
It's that theology that led The Family, over the years, to aid and abet such dictators as Haiti's Francois "Papa Doc" Duvalier, Indonesia's Haji Muhammad Suharto, Chile's Augusto Pinochet, and the brutal Angolan rebel Jonas Savimbi, who among them killed more than a million people.
The Family seems to be fond of "revolutions" of a particular type: Those that overthrow socialists or any kind of leftists, even those, like Chile's Salvador Allende, who were democratically elected. As Jeff Sharlet explains in his masterful book, The Family, "God chooses his key men according to His concerns, not ours ..."
Other Family members, identified as such by Sharlet, loom large in the health care debate. Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., said right-wingers could "break" Obama by defeating health care reform. Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., told NBC's David Gregory that members of Congress had "earned" the threats of violence they were receiving at town-hall meetings focused on the health care bill.
http://tinyurl.com/ylgwfq9
I am not too familiar with the source here. However given that it implicates the Family, I thought others may wish to see it. If true, this lends a little more credence to my theory that part of this groups purpose is not only to influence policy moving us toward global governance, but also to paint christians with a broad brush labeling us all as cultish extremists
CES 2009: Mattel's Mind Flex Toy
ReplyDeleteTelekinesis toys? The next gen of playthings is here
January 10, 2009 - Just as videogames evolve, so do toys. The star of Mattel's CES booth in Las Vegas this week is the Mind Flex, a mind-controlled skill toy that operates via brain waves. Using your thoughts to approximate telekinesis, the ability to control matter with the mind, a small purple ball rises into the air via a column of air. Once you concentrate hard enough to raise the ball, you try to get it through an obstacle course with hoops, ledges and gates. The more you intensely think about the sphere, the higher it goes. When you relax, the ball drops.
Now, while the toy really does not turn you into a Jedi master, I'll be darned if the Mind Flex doesn't do a solid job approximating it. (It should be noted that a Star Wars branded brain wave toy is also en route to retail later this year.)

Along the same lines of the last post. Here is a similar product created under the influence of Deepak Chopra. Its called the Wild Divine Project, it claims to be able to help people develop extra sensory perception.

Sorry if this has been covered before, it was new to me, and I thought it pertinent.
Some of us covered the secret meetings of a group of billionaires back in the spring. It now appears the group has given themselves a name and a purpose. Given its members have openly advocated new age ideas, I am having trouble seeing what is so good about this Good Club.
ReplyDeleteThey're called the Good Club - and they want to save the world
It is the most elite club in the world. Ordinary people need not apply. Indeed there is no way to ask to join. You simply have to be very, very rich and very, very generous. On a global scale.
This is the Good Club, the name given to the tiny global elite of billionaire philanthropists who recently held their first and highly secretive meeting in the heart of New York City.
The names of some of the members are familiar figures: Bill Gates, George Soros, Warren Buffett, Oprah Winfrey, David Rockefeller and Ted Turner. But there are others, too, like business giants Eli and Edythe Broad, who are equally wealthy but less well known. All told, its members are worth $125bn.
The meeting - called by Gates, Buffett and Rockefeller - was held in response to the global economic downturn and the numerous health and environmental crises that are plaguing the globe. It was, in some ways, a summit to save the world.
No wonder that when news of the secret meeting leaked, via the seemingly unusual source of an Irish-American website, it sent shock waves through the worlds of philanthropy, development aid and even diplomacy. "It is really unprecedented. It is the first time a group of donors of this level of wealth has met like that behind closed doors in what is in essence a billionaires' club," said Ian Wilhelm, senior writer at the Chronicle of Philanthropy magazine.
The existence of the Good Club has struck many as a two-edged sword. On one hand, they represent a new golden age of philanthropy, harking back to the early 20th century when the likes of Rockefeller, Vanderbilt and Carnegie became famous for their good works. Yet the reach and power of the Good Club are truly new. Its members control vast wealth - and with that wealth comes huge power that could reshape nations according to their will. Few doubt the good intentions of Gates and Winfrey and their kind. They have already improved the lives of millions of poor people across the developing world. But can the richest people on earth actually save the planet?
The President's House of Rockefeller University is on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The university's private campus, full of lush green trees, lies behind guarded entrances and a metal fence. It overlooks the East River, only a few blocks away from the United Nations.
It was here, at 3pm on 5 May, that the Good Club gathered. The university's chancellor, Sir Paul Nurse, was out of town but, at the request of David Rockefeller, had allowed the club to meet at his plush official residence. The president's house is frequently used for university events, but rarely can it have played host to such a powerful conclave. "The fact that they pulled this off, meeting in the middle of New York City, is just absolutely amazing," said Niall O'Dowd, an Irish journalist who broke the story on the website irishcentral.com.
For six hours, the assembled billionaires discussed the crises facing the world. Each was allowed to speak for 15 minutes. The topics focused on education, emergency relief, government reform, the expected depth of the economic crisis and global health issues such as overpopulation and disease. One of the themes was new ways to get ordinary people to donate small amounts to global issues. Sources say Gates was the most impressive speaker, while Turner was the most outspoken. "He tried to dominate, which I think annoyed some of the others," said one source. Winfrey, meanwhile, was said to have been in a contemplative, listening mood.

JD,
ReplyDeleteThat was a fascinating article on the group that calls itself the "Good Club."
Regarding the "Good Club," the article you linked to reads:
Others are even more outspoken at the growing dominance of a tiny handful of billionaires in the development sector. "The problem with any Good Club is that all the people might not be 'good'. Or at least not 'good' in universal definitions," said Louise Uwacu, the Rwandan-born founder of the Canadian education charity Positivision.
There is also the issue of accountability. Even the most repressive of national governments is on some level beholden to its own people, or has the capacity to change and reform under popular pressure. But who votes for the Good Club?....
As the article implies when the term "good" is used, it begs the question "good according to what standards?"
For example, many people would not necessarily call the Good Club's plans to curb population as something "good."

SOME of America’s leading billionaires have met secretly to consider how their wealth could be used to slow the growth of the world’s population and speed up improvements in health and education.

ReplyDeleteSen. Grassley is a proud 33rd degree mason.
Doug, Susanna,
ReplyDeleteMuch of my concern with this particular club were the reports earlier in the year of them meeting and one of the primary goals being population reduction/control. Not to mention some of the less than admirable ideals of the individual members.
Every one is well aware of Oprah's new age religion, which she promotes via her show. Bill Gates has expressed beliefs which are new age to the core, not to mention what he has done via Microsoft. I don't think I even need to cover Soros, as many here could write a book about his hideous nature.
Susanna,
I agree with your questioning just who's interpretation of good the name is derived from. I believe by simply looking at the bend of the individuals involved, all can see just how good this club is.
Anon 10:18,
ReplyDeleteGrassley's association with the Family is enough to cause me to question his motives. However after reading your post I decide to look into your allegation against the Senator. Which I found to be true. Given that Masonic lodges are supposed to be the schools that "externalize the hierarchy" I am more than disturbed.

Catholics inviting Anglicans to their tent
In a bid to attract disillusioned members of the Anglican Communion, the Vatican announced yesterday that it would establish a special arrangement that will allow Anglicans to join the Roman Catholic Church while preserving their liturgy and spiritual heritage, including married priests.
The worldwide Anglican Communion, which includes the 2.3 million-member U.S. Episcopal Church, has been wracked by years of conflict over the interpretation of Scripture, which has led to clashes over female clergy members and the rights of gays to serve as clergy.
The Catholic Church plan "reflects a bold determination by Rome to seize the moment and do what it can to reach out to those who share its stance on women priests and homosexuality," said Ian Markham, dean of the Virginia Theological Seminary, an Episcopal seminary in Alexandria, Va.
The new system will allow the Catholic Church to make potentially large inroads into the Anglican Communion's 80 million members worldwide. The Communion broke from the Catholic Church in 1534, when England's King Henry VIII was denied a marriage annulment.
Story continues below
Advertisement
In establishing the new structure, Pope Benedict XVI is responding to "many requests" from individual Anglicans and Anglican groups -- including "20 to 30 bishops," said Cardinal William Levada, the Vatican's chief doctrinal official.
Nevertheless, Williams said the move "is not an act of aggression. . . . It is business as usual."
For years, the Communion has struggled to reconcile its warring factions. Racial and class tensions have grown between the Anglican Communion's wealthy but shrinking Western congregations and its rapidly growing, more-conservative membership in the developing world.
Under the new system, the Catholic Church will create "personal ordinariates" -- separate units headed by former Anglican priests or bishops.
Although married Anglican priests would be permitted to head the ordinariates, married bishops would not be permitted. Potentially, entire former Anglican parishes or dioceses could move under the Catholic Church's wing.
The former Anglicans would be considered theologically Catholic but with their own traditions.
The plan is not without precedent. The Catholic Church has, in rare instances, allowed married Anglican priests to join. For centuries, the church has included Eastern Rite Catholics, who maintain their traditions.
Between 100 and 200 of the 7,000 Episcopal congregations have broken away from the denomination over the 2003 ordination of Gene Robinson, a gay man, as bishop of New Hampshire. The ordination of female clergy members and the church's definition of salvation also have been issues in the conflict.
Many of the breakaway congregations allied themselves with conservative Anglican bishops in countries such as Nigeria and Uganda.
Conservative Anglican leaders in the United States said the impact will be great- er in England than here.
"The British papers are saying it's the biggest thing since Henry VIII, and, in some ways, it is for them," said the Rev. Martyn Minns of Fairfax City, Va., leader of a group of conservative congregations that broke from the Episcopal Church three years ago.
I bet all the Catholics are enthralled by this latest move forward with the One World Religion. That lovely ecumenical Papa

ReplyDeleteSolana: Palestinian state in 1967 borders
European Union's Foreign Policy chief says after meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah EU is dedicated to establishment of Palestinian state, says the sooner this happens, the better
Ynet
EU Foreign Policy chief Javier Solana said the European Union's goal is to establish a Palestinian state in the 1967 borders.
Speaking in Ramallah on Wednesday, Solana said the sooner this happens, the better.
Solana met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Wednesday morning, and is scheduled to meet later with Prime Minister Salam Fayyad.
His visit to the Palestinian Authority is aimed at highlighting the EU's commitment to the region and supporting the PA leadership.
Solana is slated to visit Israel on Thursday, and meet with Israeli officials.
During his visit to Ramallah, Solana said there may be a need to exchange certain territories, but he said this should not disrupt the territory's continuity.
He said EU's stance in the matter is similar to that of the Quartet on the Middle East, and expressed his support of Abbas' efforts to unite the Palestinian people in light of the current dispute between his Fatah party and Hamas.
Solana's meeting with Abbas came before the latter's trip to Egypt. After the meeting, Solana said that Abbas took off to Cairo where reconciliation talks between the two Palestinian factions are ongoing, and stressed that Abbas is dedicated to closing a deal.
Later Wednesday, Solana told the Israeli Presidential Conference in Jerusalem that the world must not accept an Iranian nuclear bomb. According to Solana, "Tomorrow is today and we have no time to lose."
As for the peace process in the Middle East, Solana called for limited negotiations. "The time to do it is now. Nothing has been done in the world without taking risks."
Bzzt! Wrong answer, Anonymous. You too, Amy H.
ReplyDeleteIn this Apostolic Constitution the Holy Father has introduced a canonical structure that provides for such corporate reunion by establishing Personal Ordinariates which will allow former Anglicans to enter full communion with the Catholic Church while preserving elements of the distinctive Anglican spiritual and liturgical patrimony.
In other words, a bunch of Protestants will be allowed to convert to Catholicism whilst maintaining some of their distinct cultural and liturgical traditions. But in order to actually understand that, you would need to know something about the Catholic Church and Anglican Church history--at least enough to appreciate that most High Anglicans are, as an English Catholic from Kilburn once described to me, "More Catholic than Catholics."
The day that the Pope tells Anglicans--or anyone--that they can interpret the Bible in whatever way the Holy Spirit guides them, I will certainly join in with your cry of "Ecumenical Papa." ;-)
Sorry Persimmon, there's just loads of condescention I need to address for the moment... But I do apologise for anyone whose sensibilites I alarm along the way.
ReplyDeleteFirstly I was BORN BRITISH and am more than familiar with the CofE and much of the history thereof. On certain issues you say the Anglicans are 'more Catholic than Catholic.' With this I would agree on some levels. However, my point was NOT to quibble about semantics, theology, tradition, WHO should interperet the Bible, etc, etc. All that kind of gibberish is just the red herring you pull out to derail me and Anonymous.
My point is, and always will be, since I never argue theology with a church so interested in obscuring it, is THAT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH HAS NEVER BEEN PHILOSOPHICALLY OR SPIRITUALLY OR MORALLY ABOVE STOOPING TO THE BASEST LEVELS TO DO ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING TO GET MORE MEMBERS AND MORE MONEY, including allowing SYNCRETISM to flourish wherever they go. Indeed the history of the RCC could be summed up by saying they just do whatever it is that can be gotten away with, and this has inextricably shaped their tradition. The article I posted is just one more example of this.
Is that clear enough for you now?
Amy H
ReplyDeleteRead any good books by Jack Chick lately?
The only thing "clear" to me is that the degree of anger you feel toward the Catholic Church is equal to the degree of ignorance you have revealed about its teachings and its history. Perhaps you are even a disgruntled ex-Catholic. ;-)
I won't address the condescenion toward me (and by implication, all Catholics) in your post.
Sorry Persimmon, for I really didn't mean for you to feel attacked personally, it was not intended. However, red herrings stink and I don't usually let them go unaccounted for. Alas, sin siezes the opportunity afforded to it but I will sieze it back.
ReplyDeleteI don't know who Jack Chick is and I am not, never was, and never will be Catholic, disgruntled or otherwise, but am more than adequate in RCC theology and tradition and have attended mass (with reverance and true interest) many times so that I would not make ignorant arguments when defending the pure Gospel so plainly laid out and unobscured in Scripture, on being saved from sin and my own destruction by Grace, through Faith, not of myself, but a gift from God, by the blood of Jesus.
On another note, anyone who is interested should read up on the Great Schism, and the scheming of the Counter-Reformation, and the burning of Jan Huss after he had been guaranteed safety, and other such dubious double-crossings if they are interested in some of the more tarnished ages in the Gold-plated history. (To be fair, I realise that the history of the Protestant churches are not without blemish either.)
The Reformation greatly improved the Catholic Church too, as it had to tidy up it's dirtier corners as they were exposed to the light of day. Je vous en pris, mon ami.
(Sorry Constance, I think I am totally done making your blog a forum for seething religious controversy now although I always enjoy boasting about the blood of Jesus. Please forgive me.)
Amy H,
ReplyDeleteSorry but these are not the words of an individual who is "more than adequate in RCC theology and tradition"
THE CATHOLIC CHURCH HAS NEVER BEEN PHILOSOPHICALLY OR SPIRITUALLY OR MORALLY ABOVE STOOPING TO THE BASEST LEVELS TO DO ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING TO GET MORE MEMBERS AND MORE MONEY, including allowing SYNCRETISM to flourish wherever they go. Indeed the history of the RCC could be summed up by saying they just do whatever it is that can be gotten away with.
They don't even resemble the words of an educated person, let alone one who is conversant in Church history.
I'm not interested in sectarian arguments either, and wish you hadn't started one with your post. I think almost everyone here, whether Jewish, Catholic, or Protestant, is really sick of the Catholic baiting that nearly consumed this blog for a time.
Your utilitarian argument regarding the "benefits" of the Reformation (and indeed, there were benefits) does merit a attention though for Christians of all persuasions, Catholic and otherwise -- for in the Christian view, the end in itself can never, ever justify the means.
Anyway, welcome and hopefully you can contribute something valuable. There are many here who do, regardless of their personal views about Catholicism or other Christian denominations.
