Robertson to televise second comingThe Rev. Pat Robertson's Sept. 17th multimillion-dollar, three-hour extravaganza will be broadcast in 220 cities, reaching all 50 states. Michael Clifford, whose company, Victory Communications, is coordinating the event, said the telecast is "a first in presidential politics." Utilizing three communication satellites, mobile earth stations, and some of the nation's largest stadiums, Clifford noted, "This is the largest hookup that's ever been done anywhere to my knowledge."
This event is a mere foreshadowing of what Robertson sees on the horizon. Last February, The Freedom Writer reported that Robertson claims God spoke through a word of prophecy in May 1968, and said, "I have chosen you to usher in the coming of My Son." Robertson elaborated on this prophecy during the week of Dec. 9-12, 1984, when speaking on a Satellite Network Seminar held at the Word of Faith World Outreach Center in Dallas, Texas.
"'I'm going to let you usher Him in,'" Robertson said, referring to the word he claims to have received from God. "Now where do you usher in the coming?" Robertson continued. "You usher in the coming where He's going to come." He then announced that the Christian Broadcasting Network will provide worldwide television coverage of the second coming of Jesus Christ from the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. He didn't say when he expected this to take place, but it is known that the 56-year-old evangelist fully expects it to happen in his lifetime.
In the 1984 Dallas sermon, Robertson asked rhetorically, "What's coming next?" Robertson predicted that in the next few years, "God is going to put us [born-again Christians] in positions of leadership and responsibility," "the church members will have taken dominion over the forces of the world," there will be "a spirit-filled president in the White House," "the men in the Senate and House of Representatives are [going to be] spirit-filled and worship Jesus," and "the judges [will] do the same." We will have a school system "where humanism isn't taught anymore." He also alluded to strict censorship, saying, "pornographers will no longer have any access to the public whatsoever."
Robertson emphasized that these things can take place now, not in the distant future, as this is the time Christ is establishing His kingdom.

Taking a short break, I was doing some searching on what Paul N. Temple, the simultaneous activist in Doug Coe's The Family and Institute of Noetic Sciences was now doing. I discovered he was a member of the Council of Trustees of the Temple of Understanding. The Temple of Understanding has always worked very closely with Lucis Trust and is unabashedly seeking a new world religion. This continues to deepen my understanding of why purported Evangelicals working closely with Paul Temple and receiving signficant amounts of his strategically doled out moneys were so desperate to halt my work.
While doing that, I ran into this summarization of Pat Robertson and his claims that he had been called by God to "usher in the coming of My Son." That claim is in his CBN Counselor's handbook and his claims that when the Bible says "every eye shall behold him," it means "on television."
That, of course, does not match scripture. It does, however, match Benjamin Creme and Alice Ann Bailey. Bailey's book THE EXTERNALISATION OF THE HIERARCHY contains that claim on pages 576-576. The same books, of course, inform us of the "greatness" of Lucifer, the archangel bounced from heaven, together with his rebellious cohorts, for his attempted insurrection against God.
I found this in the course of my internet travels this afternoon and thought that for those who have trouble wrapping their mind around any Christian leader steering people in this direction, it might be a useful exhibit.
My personal stance? If he had the NERVE to say it, I had the NERVE to quote it. Truly the deception is enough to take in too many undiscerning believers. How many Christians were set up to receive the antichrist through this deception?
Stay tuned!

"The Elders" are back in picture on Israeli situation. Here is a September 6th statement from Jimmy Carter which interestingly, inter alia, mentions Javier Solana:
ReplyDelete"We saw considerable interest in a call by Javier Solana, secretary general of the Council of the European Union, for the United Nations to endorse the two-state solution, which already has the firm commitment of the US government and the other members of the “Quartet” (Russia and the United Nations). Solana proposes that the United Nations recognize the pre-1967 border between Israel and Palestine, and deal with the fate of Palestinian refugees and how Jerusalem would be shared. Palestine would become a full UN member and enjoy diplomatic relations with other nations, many of which would be eager to respond. Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad described to us his unilateral plan for Palestine to become an independent state.
A more likely alternative to the present debacle is one state, which is obviously the goal of Israeli leaders who insist on colonizing the West Bank and East Jerusalem. A majority of the Palestinian leaders with whom we met are seriously considering acceptance of one state, between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. By renouncing the dream of an independent Palestine, they would become fellow citizens with their Jewish neighbors and then demand equal rights within a democracy. In this nonviolent civil rights struggle, their examples would be Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela. "

Constance,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the article on Pat Robertson. I came across Jack Van Impe, promoting 2012, as the year when Jesus returns too. This is misleading because, Jesus said, "nobody, knows the day or the hour". We can distinguish between light and darkness, but can we distinguish between light and light.
Savvy
I believe that Jimmy Carter is a very dangerous man.
ReplyDeleteRudi was the one who best kept up with "The Elders." Has anybody heard from her?
ReplyDeleteConstance
I would imagine Rudi, Joyce and Dawn got run off. Just guessing. I miss reading their comments, as well.
ReplyDelete2012 is actually not a "Christian" Prophecy. Honestly... these days i think that many of the main stream christian speakers are picking up on every "prophecy" from every tribe and tongue of every movement in hopes to get something right. The first thing I ever heard about the year 2012 had to do with it being the end of the Mayan calendar.
ReplyDeleteAnyway.... I was watching the news with a client that I see today and saw this Headline. So i came home and looked it up.
I thought about you Constance when i saw it. I know that the UN is nothing compared to the EU but for some reason this really clicked with me as being important.
anyway, here is the link.

What do you think? I have a feeling that Mr. Obama is going to do a lot of good things to help the American people... but behind the scenes, I wonder if he is working things out to work toward moving closer to a global government movement.

The current US President will be chairing the UN Security Council on Sept 24th. Apparently he is the first US President to do so. How very remarkable!
ReplyDelete"Barack Obama will cement the new co-operative relationship between the US and the United Nations this month when he becomes the first American president to chair its 15-member Security Council."
http://tiny.cc/X42qt
What is the date of this meeting? Sept 24th.
From the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics, 8/24/2008 to 9/24/2009 is 1 yr 1 month forming an 11, signifying AntiChrist. It is also 13 months signifying sin and rebellion.
For Closing Ceremony analysis see -http://tiny.cc/BxsiL
The number of days? 396.
396 = 6 x 66. Wow!!!
9+24 = 33 a popular occult number. 9+24+2+9 = 44. Obama is the 44th President. Both numbers are divisible by 11.
From 9/11/2009 (8th anniversary of 9/11) to 9/24/2009 (Obama chairs UN Security Council) is 13 days.
Can anyone doubt this is another strong pointer?
Keep tuned,

Just out of curiosity, is "p" B "turned upside down." All are concerned about Barack Obama and the UN, but "synchronicity" is more of the "New Age" than the Bible"
ReplyDeleteEvidently, from this Wikipedia article, the "N." in "Paul N. Temple" stands for "Nathaniel." It is "Paul Nathaniel Temple, Jr." From Wikipedia's stub article:

ReplyDeleteHi Guys,
ReplyDeleteIt is 9:45 A.M. Eastern time here in Massachusetts. This is the story that has been breaking on FOX NEws Channel since a few hours ago on ACORN's latest enterprise in corruption.
PIMPIN' FOR ACORN?
Hidden-camera video purports to show ACORN workers advising a reporter posing as a pimp about how to lie to the IRS and secure housing assistance to run a brothel for a woman posing as a prostitute — and, 13 'very young girls' from El Salvador.

Arrest warrants have been issued in Miami for 11 people suspected of falsifying information on hundreds of voter registration cards -- including registering the name of the late actor Paul Newman -- the Florida state attorney told FOXNews.com.
The FBI and state authorities took seven people into custody Wednesday as it issued 11 arrest warrants for voter registration fraud in Homestead, Fla., in June 2008.
Florida state attorney Katherine Fernandez-Rundle said 11 workers hired to register voters by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now -- or ACORN -- submitted 888 fraudulent names. She said the names included people who were already registered voters, fictitious names, and the name of the late actor Paul Newman, who died in Sept. 2008.
Fernandez-Rundle said ACORN alerted her office after it reviewed hundreds of voter registration cards it suspected were fraudulent. She said that none of the names in question actually voted.
"While they were attempting to steal from ACORN, they were stealing from our electoral process and we just will not tolerate that," she said.
Fernandez-Rundle said the workers, who were being paid 10 dollars an hour to register voters, face anywhere from 2 to 37 counts of "false swearing in connection with voting or elections" and "submission of false voter registration information."
"They were attempting to justify their hourly wages," she said.
In a statement sent to FOXNews.com. on Wednesday, Florida ACORN board member Leroy Bell said, "We want to commend the state attorney for taking decisive action. Today's action demonstrates the seriousness we brought to the task of not only expanding the electorate, but also of protecting the integrity of the voting process. "
"Over the last five years thousands of dedicated people have worked or volunteered with Florida ACORN and succeeded in helping hundreds of thousands of Florida citizens -- especially African-Americans, Latinos, low-income and young people -- to apply to become registered voters. Fortunately, our quality control managers and the systems we developed ensured their ability to spot the isolated wrongdoing by these 11 workers who tried to pass off phony forms instead of doing their work," he said.
Bell added that the government should do more to modernize the voter registration system, saying ACORN would "prefer that Florida and the United States adopt a more modern voter registration system where getting everyone on the rolls is the government's job and mission."
ACORN's activities were frequently questioned during the 2008 presidential election. The group, which claims to be a non-partisan grassroots community organization of low- and moderate-income people, came under fire in 2007 when Washington State filed felony charges against several paid ACORN employees and supervisors for more than 1,700 fraudulent voter registrations. In March 2008, an ACORN worker in Pennsylvania was sentenced for making 29 phony voter registration forms.

ReplyDeleteACORN officials offered to assist two individuals posing as a pimp and prostitute, encouraging them to lie to the Internal Revenue Service and providing guidance on how to claim underage girls from South America as dependents, according to an audiotape acquired by FOXNews.com.
An independent filmmaker who posed as a pimp and a young woman named "Kenya" visited an East Coast ACORN office in July in an attempt to secure housing where the woman could allegedly continue her illegal prostitution business.
On the tape, "Kenya" tells an ACORN staffer she earns roughly $8,000 monthly. The ACORN employee then suggests to "Kenya" that ACORN submit a tax return for 2008 showing that she made $9,600 for the entire year instead of the $96,000 annually, and that ACORN would charge "Kenya" $50 instead of the usual $150.
ACORN offer tax preparation and benefits application services free of charge during tax season, but charge nominal fees during non tax season. (need to see if this was correct fee)
On the audiotape, the staffer also suggested that the prostitute list her occupation as a freelance "performing artist."
"It's not dancing, trust me," says the filmmaker, purporting to be a pimp.
"But dancing is considered an art," the ACORN staffer replied. "[Exotic dancers] usually go under performing artists, or yeah, they usually go under performing arts, which will be what you are - a performing artist."
The "pimp" later talks about the couple's plans to bring up to 13 "very young" girls from El Salvador to work as prostitutes. The two ACORN staffers not only do nothing to point out the illegal nature of their plans, but even suggest how to help by explaining that the underage girls be claimed as dependents.
"What if they are going to be making money because they are performing tricks too?" the pimp is heard saying.
"If they making money and they are underage, then you shouldn't be letting anybody know anyway," the ACORN staffer says on the audiotape before laughing. "It's illegal. So I am not hearing this, I am not hearing this. You talk too much. Don't give up no information you're not asked."
The "pimp," then asks ACORN staffers that in helping get "Kenya" housing to "promise" not to discriminate against his sex worker due to "who she is and what she does," according to the audiotape......
Cont......
cont.....
ReplyDelete..."If we don't have the information, then how are we going to discriminate?" she replies. "You see what I am saying?"
If the girls are under age 16, the ACORN staffer says on the tape, they are not legally allowed to work in the state regardless of what they do.
"So it's like they don't even exist?" the purported hooker asks, according to the audiotape.
"Exactly," the ACORN staffer replies. "It's like they don't even exist."
The staffer went onto suggest that as many as three of the underage girls could be listed as dependents at the home, but said a "flag" would be raised if as many as 13 were listed.
"You are gonna use three of them," the staffer said on the audiotape. "They are gonna be under 16 so you is eligible to get child tax credit and additional child tax credit."
The ACORN workers also appear to be soliciting the group's services to the "pimp" and "Kenya".
A second ACORN employee can be heard on the audiotape suggesting that the couple join the organization for a cost of $120 annually, prior to attending one of its first-time home buyer seminars, which are underwritten with taxpayer funds.
Later, when the "pimp" asks what would happen if the organization is somehow connected to the scheme, the ACORN staffer replies, "First of all, it's not gonna damage us because we not gonna know. And with your girls, you tell them, 'Be careful.' Train them to keep their mouth shut."
"These girls are like 14, how can we trust them?"
"Just be very, very careful," the ACORN staffer responded, according to the audiotape.
"Whatever you do, always keep your eyes in the back of your head."

Pat Robertson is not a Christian but a wolf (Unless he has just repented)! I have seen photos of him making the hand of Satan gesture (the one where you show the palm of the hand with the forefinger and little finger pointing upwards and the two middle fingers closed into the palm). I have also seen a photo of him, on the front cover of Time magazine, posing with the lion's paw gesture - a well known freemasonry handsign. You can see the deliberation with which he makes this gesture and it is clear that it is no accident. Beware! He is an Illuminati/New Age masonic stooge, so is Kenneth Copeland, who chants the words "I AM" which is a Masonic initiation term:
ReplyDelete"And I say this with all respect, so that it don't upset you too bad. But I say it anyway: When I read in the Bible where He says, "I AM," I just smile and say, "Yes, I AM, too." (Believers Voice of Victory broadcast July 9 1987)
During the ceremonies of the Masonic ritual for the Royal Arch degree, the candidate is asked, "Brother Inspector, what are you?" and he replies, "I AM THAT I AM." [Note: This is clearly a sacrilegious claim to deity--part and parcel to Masonic beliefs.] I have also seen photos of Benny Hinn making the horned hand satanic symbol.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 (King James Version)
13For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
Thank you Constance for all that you are doing in warning the Church. God bless you. Rob (London, England.)
P.S., New Ager Benny Hinn also tells unsuspecting Christians to chant "I AM.":
ReplyDelete"Don't tell me you have Jesus. You are everything He was and everything He is and ever shall be.....Don't say, 'I have.' Say , 'I AM, I AM, I AM, I AM, I AM." (Our Position in Christ #2-The Word Made Flesh audiotape Side 2 1991)

Dear Constance,
ReplyDeleteBecause I was focused on other research, I wasn't tuned in about The Elders or their activities.
After reading your comment about Rudi's work on the organization, I decided to follow up with some additional research and discovered the following recent news article from the Washington Post about this organization.
THE ELDERS VIEW OF THE MIDDLE EAST
By Jimmy Carter
Sunday, September 6, 2009
During the past 16 months I have visited the Middle East four times and met with leaders in Israel, Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, the West Bank and Gaza. I was in Damascus when President Obama made his historic speech in Cairo, which raised high hopes among the more-optimistic Israelis and Palestinians, who recognize that his insistence on a total freeze of settlement expansion is the key to any acceptable peace agreement or any positive responses toward Israel from Arab nations.
Late last month I traveled to the region with a group of "Elders," including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, former presidents Fernando Henrique Cardoso of Brazil and Mary Robinson of Ireland, former prime minister Gro Brundtland of Norway and women's activist Ela Bhatt of India. Three of us had previously visited Gaza, which is now a walled-in ghetto inhabited by 1.6 million Palestinians, 1.1 million of whom are refugees from Israel and the West Bank and receive basic humanitarian assistance from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency. Israel prevents any cement, lumber, seeds, fertilizer and hundreds of other needed materials from entering through Gaza's gates. Some additional goods from Egypt reach Gaza through underground tunnels. Gazans cannot produce their own food nor repair schools, hospitals, business establishments or the 50,000 homes that were destroyed or heavily damaged by Israel's assault last January...read entire article..

As for Jimmy Carter........
ReplyDeleteJIMMY CARTER BECOMES A FEMINIST THEOLOGIAN: URGES WORLD’S RELIGIOUS LEADERS TO STOP TEACHING WOMEN’S INFERIORITY AS THE WILL OF GOD*
Carol P. Christ
In a recent column in the Guardian, former US President Jimmy Carter announced his decision to sever all ties with the Southern Baptist Church because of its continuing history of holding women responsible for original sin and for prohibiting women to become deacons or pastors within the church. This decision was obviously personally painful for him.
Carter referred to a recent decision of the Elders, a group founded by Nelson Mandela, to condemn religiously justified discrimination against women: "The justification of discrimination against women and girls on grounds of religion or tradition, as if it were prescribed by a Higher Authority, is unacceptable." Carter continued: “We are calling on all leaders to challenge and change the harmful teachings and practices, no matter how ingrained, which justify discrimination against women. We ask, in particular, that leaders of all religions have the courage to acknowledge and emphasise the positive messages of dignity and equality that all the world's major faiths share.”
In speaking out against religiously sanctioned discrimination against women, Carter and the Elders joined the ranks of feminist theologians who call religions to task for supporting male dominance. Like them, Carter connected religious teaching to every day discrimination against women—including not being paid equally, not being represented equally in government, being denied equal education and health care, being forced into prostitution, being genitally mutilated, and not being protected by law when raped.
In other words, Carter and the Elders challenged widely held views that religions are mostly benevolent and that religious belief (or lack of it) is a matter of personal choice with no public or political implications.
In addition, both Carter and the Elders took a nuanced position on the nature of religion—acknowledging that religious texts and traditions are not “handed down from Above” but rather are filtered through human interpretation and understanding. Carter put it this way: “The truth is that male religious leaders have had - and still have - an option to interpret holy teachings either to exalt or subjugate women. They have, for their own selfish ends, overwhelmingly chosen the latter.”
Like feminist theolgians, Carter and the Elders acknowledge that religious traditions are shaped by human beings and that they have overwhelmingly been shaped by male human beings in order to promote male power over female human beings....read entire article...

ReplyDeleteThe Coast Guard is denying a CNN report that it fired 10 rounds at a "suspicious vessel" in the Potomac River.
CNN reported that the Coast Guard had fired the rounds at a boat in the Potomac. According to the Coast Guard, however, it was a training exercise conducted in the Potomac moments before President Barack Obama's motorcade crossed.
D.C. Harbor Patrol also said that the incident was a training exercise. There was a simulated radio call about shots fired, but no actual shots were fired, one official said.
A temporary restricted zone had been set up on the river due to the Pentagon 9/11 ceremony, according to CNN.

SECOND VIDEO SHOWS ACORN OFFICIALS HELPING "PIMP," "PROSTITUTE" IN WASHINGTON OFFICE
ReplyDeleteSeptember 11, 2009
One day after two ACORN officials in Baltimore were fired for offering to help a man and woman posing as a pimp and prostitute to engage in child prostitution and a series of tax crimes, another secretly shot videotape has surfaced that shows the same couple getting similar advice from ACORN officers in Washington.
The newly released videotape, shot on July 25, shows ACORN staffers explaining to the pair how they can hide the woman's professed work — prostitution — and get a loan that will help them establish a brothel.
James O'Keefe, a 25-year-old independent filmmaker, posed as the pimp while visiting the ACORN office, accompanied by 20-year-old Hannah Giles, who posed as the prostitute. On a videotape provided to FOXNews.com, they are seen receiving guidance to establish the woman as the sole proprietor of a bogus company to mask the nature of her business.
"She's not going to put on (the loan application) that she's doing prostitution ... she doesn't have to," the ACORN staffer says. "You don't have to sit back and tell people what you do."
The ACORN staffer is heard suggesting that O'Keefe can purchase a house, and as the landlord, if he is ever questioned by authorities, he can say he was unaware of the illegal business going on inside.
"[W]hen the police ask you, (tell them) you don't know where (the money is) coming from," the staffer said. "We are looking out for you."
The ACORN employee later suggests that O'Keefe, who said he had a budding political career, not linger at the house in case people "put the dots together" and leave him "smeared and tarnished" by his association with his prostitute girlfriend. She should keep her business "low key," the employee said...read entire article....

Interesting article 7/18/2009 article from Darwin Central on Van Jones involvement with the Institute of Noetic Sciences.
ReplyDeleteOBAMA'S PSEUDOSCIENCE CZAR
DC forum member El Goodo has done some excellent detective work on Obama’s so-called economic czars, wading through dirty pools that other so-called muckrakers refuse to tread. The first person he’s looked into is “green jobs” czar Van Jones. In typical Wikipedia fashion, the checkered past and political extremism of a politically liberal public figure is almost completely discarded and that which is left is played down. As noted by El Goodo, Jones is a former communist who was radicalized by the 1992 Los Angeles riots and has continued to associate himself with groups on the far left, including the Free Press, which advocates government control of the media, and the radical Oakland community organization Speak Out Now! As extreme as these groups may be, they’re still a far cry from the “revolutionary” groups Jones used to associate himself with, such as the now defunct Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement (STORM). I’m willing to accept that Jones may have changed his political tune somewhat. After all, Ronald Reagan was firmly on the left before he started shifting towards the right, and the term “neoconservative,” before the term became an Anti-Semitic code word among both the far left and right, was originally used to describe formerly left-leaning political and social scientists who found that following the facts led them away from socialism and modern liberalism. Still, even if he has begrudgingly admitted the realities of the free market, Jones not only continues to deploy socialist rhetoric, but embraces some decidedly specious ideas.
Jones’s Wikipedia entry notes that he is a fellow of the Institute of Noetic Sciences. Founded by astronaut-turned-parapsychologist Edgar Mitchell, the Institute declares itself in mission statement to be “a nonprofit membership organization located in Northern California that conducts and sponsors leading-edge research into the potentials and powers of consciousness.” It also goes on to say that it “explores phenomena that do not necessarily fit conventional scientific models, while maintaining a commitment to scientific rigor.” The first part of that statement is correct, but as far as commitment to scientific rigor goes, you won’t find it at this institute. The main areas of research are “extended human capacities” (just a fancy way of saying spoon-bending and reincarnation), “integral health and healing” ( not just the expected quack remedies and therapies, but even worse “distant healing” methods as well), and “emerging worldviews” (which combines ecological extremism with New Age spirituality). Members of the Institute’s board of directors and extended faculty include Bishop Desmond Tutu, professional pseudoscientist Rupert Sheldrake, religious left guru Michael Lerner, and the Clown Prince of Quackery himself, Deepak Chopra. You’ll find Van Jones listed as a fellow on the board of directors page, along with “collective consciousness” scholar Chris Bache and former Noetic Institute president James O’Dea, who currently runs a variety of “spiritual” retreats and workshops.....
cont.....
cont...
ReplyDeleteWhat is the extent of Jones’s involvement with the institute? It’s hard to say what the extent of his current involvement is at this point; he recently canceled his appearance at the Noetic’s 2009 conference, but there are still records of his association to be found throughout the Web. Jones made a radio appearance with O’Dea in September of 2008, where they discussed their “personal journeys” and how they feel we are ultimately on the verge of a new age of “collective consciousness”. Then there’s this video sponsored by the Noetic Institute in which Jones bemoans the “socio-economic,” “ecological” and “spiritual” crises we’re “faced with”, and offers vague exhortations for a new “world view” to solve them. Particularly telling is at the end when Jones tries to get the audience to tell themselves “I don’t care what the facts look like!” They probably say that to themselves a lot at the Noetic Institute. “The world as it is, is not the world as it has to be” indeed!
Why should we care about Jones’ affliation with these Noetic nutbars, you may ask? Because he’s been placed in charge of an assignment which requires that complex problems be solved with hardnosed facts and commitment to the scientific method, that’s why. Instead, Barack Obama has demonstrated with his choice of Jones that not only is he willing to continue placing politics above science, but he’s perfectly willing to appoint his own personal George Deutsch in a key position where science is supposed to be paramount. Don’t think that Jones is alone among the antiscience Left, either. With the Natural Law party no more, and the Green Party currently in even worse disarray than the Republicans (the official Green candidate Cynthia McKinney and Ralph Nader, who ran as an Independent, managed to receive less than 1% of the popular vote combined in November), you can expect the New Age eco-nuts to try for even closer rapproachment with the Democratic party. Which is fine by us if it helps the Republicans win more elections, but bad for the country if they actually get to implement their agenda.

ReplyDeleteJeremiah 23 speaks volumes here. (King James Version)
Jeremiah 23
1Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.
2Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.
3And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.
4And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD.
5Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
6In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
7Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
8But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.
9Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of the LORD, and because of the words of his holiness.
10For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right.
11For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the LORD.
12Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.
13And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.
14I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness; they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.
15Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land.
16Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.
17They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.
18For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it?
19Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.
20The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.
21I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
Rob (London)
Jeremiah 23 (King James Version)
ReplyDeleteJeremiah 23 Continued
21I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
22But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
23Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?
24Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.
25I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.
26How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;
27Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.
28The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD.
29Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
30Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour.
31Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.
32Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD.
33And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of the LORD? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even forsake you, saith the LORD.
34And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of the LORD, I will even punish that man and his house.
35Thus shall ye say every one to his neighbour, and every one to his brother, What hath the LORD answered? and, What hath the LORD spoken?
36And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man's word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God.
37Thus shalt thou say to the prophet, What hath the LORD answered thee? and, What hath the LORD spoken?
38But since ye say, The burden of the LORD; therefore thus saith the LORD; Because ye say this word, The burden of the LORD, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of the LORD;
39Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence:
40And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.

...The references here to Bay Area PoliceWatch and the Ella Baker Center are clearly to Van Jones.
The Bay Area PoliceWatch Team is part of the Ella Baker Center co-founded by Jones, who is board president, and Diana Frappier, now a board member.
Trevor Loudon wrote April 8 about Diana Frappier (left) in “Weather Alert!
Obama’s ‘Green Jobs Czar’ linked to Former Terrorist Supporters.”
The “former terrorist supporters” are Jon and Nancy Frappier, whom the FBI identified as affiliated with Students for a Democratic Society and members of the Weather Underground and whom Trevor guesstimates are Diana’s parents. More about Diana Frappier below.
The other two board members are Belvie Rooks, Vice President of Special Projects at Carrie Productions, and independent public policy researcher and consultant, Glenn Backes, who previously served as Director of the Soros Foundation’s International Harm Reduction Development Program for which he helped “establish drug treatment and HIV prevention projects throughout Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.”
Then, regarding STORM’s Revolutionary Youth Movement (RYM) Work Group (not to be confused with the RYM wing of Students for a Democratic Society), dedicated to the “development of a revolutionary internationalist trend of youth organizations in the Bay [Area]“, Reclaiming Revolution states:
RYM was STORM’s largest Work Group, including more than half of all members. Most STORM members had been engaged and playing leading roles in the Bay Area youth movement when they joined the organization.
RYM members were involved in Youth Force Coalition, the People of Color Task Force to Free Mumia (later known as the Third Eye Movement 510), Third Eye Movement 415, PENCIL (Progressive Educators Network Creating International Liberation), and SOUL (the School Of Unity & Liberation). Indeed, STORM members founded or co-founded all of these organizations. And each played a leading role in the youth and student movement.
Again commenting on Which Way Is Left?, adamfreedom at Machete408 writes (emphasis added):
Although never reaching more than 20 members, the group at their height in the late 90’s had tremendous influence as nearly every member was a non-profit staff organizer for various groups. They had direct or indirect influence over a near empire of non-profit movement groups. [...] a large number of [former STORM] activists are currently engaged in study groups on revolutionary organization in the Bay Area and NYC with partly initiated by some of their former members and those close to them. [...]
What is most interesting about STORM is that nearly all members had never been part of a previous revolutionary organization and the group maintained quotas of 60% women and 75% people of color, though many were non-natives to the Bay Are drawn to the regions top schools such as Stanford and University of California Berkeley. But undoubtedly STORM has left a legacy in the Bay Area of a largely people of color oriented brand of third world Marxism...read more...

Theosophy in the USA government from Wikipedia article on Henry Wallace, VP under FDR:
ReplyDelete"Some time in the twenties, Nicholas Constantin Roerich appeared as a highly self advertised great philosopher with a collection of admirers and disciples who addressed him as their "Guru." Roerich dispensed a philosophy of occult teachings that certain superior beings are commissioned to guide the affairs of humanity. He founded the Roerich Museum at Niagara, India and was the founder of the Roerich Pact and Banner of Peace, signed by 22 countries in 1935. This ceremony took place in the White House. Wallace arranged for the presentation and was named the American plenipotentiary to sign the pact. At the ceremony Wallace said: "I am deeply grateful to have been named by President Roosevelt to sign for the United States this important document in which I have been interested for many years and which I regard as an inevitable step in international relations. The Roerich Pact which forms this treaty provides that all museums, cathedrals, universities and libraries be registered by the nations and marked by a banner - known as the Banner of Peace - which designates them as neutral territory respected by all signatory nations." And on this occasion Wallace described Roerich as "a great versatile genius" and "one of the greatest figures and true leaders of contemporary culture."
A wealthy broker named Louis L. Horch raised money, putting up much of it himself, to erect a building in New York City, called the Roerich Museum. Pulitzer Prize journalist Westbrook Pegler brought much of this material to light. Roerich was a prolific painter and the first floor of the museum was used for the exhibition of his canvases. The remaining stories of the building served as apartments and offices for the elect. Roerich's pictures were believed to possess a peculiar power over the minds of those who sat quietly before them and contemplated them. Many disciples visited the building and did so, in search of "world awareness."
Horch put $1,100,000 into the Roerich program. Horch was appointed to the Agriculture Department as the senior marketing specialist of the Surplus Commodity Corporation which was directed by Milo Perkins.
Roerich decided that he wished to lead an expedition into Asia. Horch says that he expected to set up a new state in Siberia of which he would be the head. To make this possible, Wallace commissioned Roerich to go to China to collect wild grass seed. But stories in English language newspapers in China indicated Roerich applied to the 15th U.S. Infantry in Tientsin for rifles and ammunition.
Wallace apparently fired Roerich while he was in Asia. Subsequently Horch filed suit to recover his investment of $1,100,000 and got possession of the Museum building. In 1942 Horch was transferred from the Department of Agriculture to the Board of Economic Warfare of which Wallace was the head and Milo Perkins executive director. When Wallace became Secretary of Commerce he made Horch chief of the supply division in the New York office of the Foreign Economic Administration."

Chickens refusing to eat the maize they had been fed has led to the discovery that their feed had been genetically modified to include a well-known weed and insect killer.
Strilli Oppenheimer’s indigenous African chickens were refusing to eat the mealies in the chicken feed bought from a large supplier. Concerned that the birds may be ingesting genetically modified maize, she had the maize tested.
The results confirmed Oppenheimer's initial suspicion - the maize had been genetically engineered to produce proteins that are toxic to certain insects and weeds.
About her chickens' refusal to eat their maize, Oppenheimer said: "They're smart."

ReplyDeleteCensus Bureau severs ties with ACORN in 2010 count
WASHINGTON (AP) - The Census Bureau on Friday severed its ties with ACORN, a community organization that has been hit with Republican accusations of voter-registration fraud.
"We do not come to this decision lightly," Census director Robert Groves wrote in a letter to ACORN, which was obtained by The Associated Press.
In splitting with ACORN, Groves sought to tamp down GOP concerns and negative publicity that the partnership will taint the 2010 head count.
"It is clear that ACORN's affiliation with the 2010 census promotion has caused sufficient concern in the general public, has indeed become a distraction from our mission, and may even become a discouragement to public cooperation, negatively impacting 2010 census efforts," Groves wrote.
Stephen Buckner, a census spokesman, confirmed the letter, but declined additional comment.
ACORN spokesman Scott Levenson did not immediately return a request for comment.
In recent months, Republicans have become increasingly critical of the census' ties with ACORN, which stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. The group, which advocates for poor people, conducted a massive voter registration effort last year and became a target of conservatives when some employees were accused of submitting false registration forms with names such as "Mickey Mouse."
ACORN has said only a handful of employees submitted false registration forms and did so in a bid to boost their pay.
Partly citing ACORN's role, Sens. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., and David Vitter, R-La., earlier this year blocked a full confirmation vote of Groves for several weeks. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., also has been calling for a census boycott because of her concerns about whether the group would tamper with the high-stakes population count.
Up to now, the Census Bureau had defended ACORN's involvement, explaining it was one of 80,000 unpaid volunteer groups that the bureau hoped would be able to raise local awareness. But in his letter, Groves said it no longer had confidence that ACORN was effectively managing the partnership.
ACORN fired two employees who were seen on hidden-camera video giving tax advice to a man posing as a pimp and a woman who pretended to be a prostitute. Fox News Channel broadcast excerpts from the video on Thursday. On the video, a man and woman visiting ACORN's Baltimore office asked about buying a house and how to account on tax forms for the woman's income. An ACORN employee advised the woman to list her occupation as "performance artist."
In a statement, ACORN Maryland board member Margaret Williams said the video was an attempt to smear ACORN, and that undercover teams attempted similar setups in at least three other ACORN offices. Williams said no tax returns were filed and no assistance was provided.

ReplyDeleteThe point about my post is that the numbers and dates are frequently used by the wicked cabal purposely to get a favourable outcome by doing so.
The dates and day spans in this particular post are facts and fairly remarkable given the parties involved.
I would like to ask all who view this blog, "Have you read the 8 articles analysing the Closing Ceremony of the Beijing Olympics posted at The Open Scroll?"
I should also point out that it has been said that this Sept 24th meeting of the UN Secy Council is the 64th and you know that 64 = 8 x 8 just as 24 is 8 x 3 (for both Sept this year and Aug last year). And the 64th on the 24th will give them what? Yes, 88.

They're bringing out the high tech weapons to silence protestors....
ReplyDeleteVia: East County Magazine:
“Long-range acoustic devices [LRADs] for crowd control can be extremely dangerous. These are used in Iraq to control insurgents. They can cause serious and lasting harm to humans…We want to know WHY our Sheriff Dept has this weapon,” Sal Magallanez of San Diego-based Liberty One Radio said in an e-mail sent to East County Magazine, prompting a joint investigation.
The device was stationed by San Diego County Sheriff deputies at a recent town hall forum hosted by Congresswoman Susan Davis (D-San Diego) in Spring Valley and at a subsequent town hall with Congressman Darrell Issa (R-San Diego). The Davis Rally drew an estimated 1,300-1,500 people, including vocal conservative and liberal protest groups.
A public records search conducted by East County Magazine has confirmed that the device is an LRAD 500-x manufactured by San Diego-based American Technology Corporation (ATC). Capable of use as an effective loudspeaker, the LRAD also has the ability to emit a deafening tone aimed at incapacitating and dispersing a crowd without use of lethal force.
“It’s very concerning,” Kevin Keenan, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union, said. “ It is fine for the Sheriff’s Department to have new less-than-lethal weapons, but for their interactions with individuals these still-dangerous weapons need to be used only as substitutes for firearms. They can’t be used as just another tool on the tool belt. As we’ve seen with tasers and pepper spray, these types of weapons are being used to subdue people even though they pose the risk of serious physical harm.”
He added, “Even more concerning is having these weapons for public order policing. I can imagine no situation, or am not aware of any situation that’s ever happened in San Diego County or is likely to happen that would justify using these weapons for public order policing to control a crowd. The main effect of having those weapons at public events is to chill people and chill free speech and free association.”
LRADs were developed by ATC at the request of the U.S. Navy after the attack on the U.S.S. Cole as a means of dissuading hostile invaders. ATC founder Elwood “Woody” Norris is a pioneer in sound technology who has also been instrumental in development of ultra-sound and ground penetrating radar.
The LRAD dual use systems are being installed everywhere. This is from the manufacturer's website:

Dear Constance,
ReplyDeleteI thought you and your readers here might be interested in some information I discovered while studying material having to do with the Venona Project which was initiated in 1943 under the orders of then-deputy Chief of Military Intelligence Carter W. Clarke when it was feared that Stalin might be planning on negotiating a separate peace with Hitler - freeing up Germany to focus its forces against Great Britain and the United States.
For those who do not know what the Venona Project was, here is a link to an article about Venona.
The Venona transcripts more than vindicated Joseph McCarthy and proved beyond a reasonable doubt that he was right on just about every one of his charges that certain United States citizens had served as spies for the Soviet Union during the Cold War.

Because of the fact that some of those accused of spying for the Soviets were serving in the Roosevelt - and later Truman - administrations (i.e. Alger Hiss) even after both Roosevelt and Truman were shown evidence of the spying that was going on right under their noses, ( which Roosevelt and Truman laughed off ) neither Roosevelt nor Truman were informed about the Venona Project.
Moreover, while the Venona transcripts contained hard evidence of the treason of Ethel and Julius Rosenberg, the Venona Project was so secret that even if the Venona transcripts had been the only hard evidence against the Rosenbergs, then - FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover would have allowed the Rosenbergs to go free before revealing the existence of the Venona Project.
It was only after the fall of the Comminist Party in the former Soviet Union that some of the Venona transcripts have been declassified.
It was while reading the book CRUSADER: RONALD REAGAN AND THE FALL OF COMMUNISM that I came across the following having to do with the collaboration of the late Edward M. Kennedy with the former Soviet Union during the Cold War.

When KGB Head Viktor Chebrikov relayed Kennedy's offer of assistance to Andropov that was delivered through Kennedy's close friend Congressman John Tunney, the message read as follows:
"Kennedy believes that, given the state of current affairs, and in the interest of peace, it would be prudent and timely to undertake the following steps to counter the militaristic politics of Reagan." The first step according to the Soviet view of the Tunney meeting, was a recommendation by Kennedy that Andropov invite him to Moscow for a personal meeting. Chebrikov reported: " The main purpose of the meeting, according to the senator, would be to arm Soviet officials with explanations regarding problems of nuclear disarmament so they would be better prepared and more convincing during appearances in the USA." Kennedy, reported Chebrikov, offered to bring along liberal Republican Senator Mark Hatfield........

ReplyDeleteIt is to be recalled that it was the late Senator Edward M. Kennedy (D) from Massachusetts who led the charge to defund the Vietnam War. One of his most zealous partners was none other than Mark O. Hatfield. Read on.............
.......In 1970 with Senator George McGovern (D-South Dakota), he co-sponsored the McGovern-Hatfield Amendment, which called for a complete withdrawal of U.S. troops from Vietnam.
In the 1980s, Hatfield co-sponsored nuclear freeze legislation with Senator Edward M. Kennedy, as well as co-authoring a book on the topic. He also advocated for the closure of the N-Reactor at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in the 1980s, though he was a supporter of nuclear fusion programs. The N-Reactor was used for producing weapons grade plutonium while producing electricity.
Hatfield frequently broke with his party on issues of national defense and foreign policy, such as military spending and the ban on travel to Cuba, while often siding with them on environmental and conservation issues. Senator Hatfield supported increased logging on federal lands. He was the lone Republican to vote against the 1981 fiscal year's appropriations bill for the Department of Defense. He was rated as the sixth most respected senator in a 1987 survey by fellow senators. In 1990, Hatfield voted against authorizing military action against Iraq in the Gulf War, one of only two members of his party to do so in the Senate.
Sometimes referred to as "Saint Mark", Hatfield enjoyed warm relations with members of both Republican and Democratic parties.
In 1984, columnist Jack Anderson revealed that Mrs. Hatfield, a realtor, had been paid $50,000 in fees by Greek arms dealer Basil Tsakos. Tsakos had been lobbying Senator Hatfield, then Appropriations Chairman, for funding for a $6 billion trans-African pipeline. The Hatfields apologized and donated the money to a Portland hospital. In 1991, it was revealed that Hatfield had failed to report a number of expensive gifts from the president of the University of South Carolina. Again, he apologized. The Senate's Ethics Committee rebuked Hatfield for the latter, but cleared him of any wrongdoing for the 1984 incident.
In 1993 he became the longest serving Senator from Oregon, surpassing the record of 9,726 days in office previously held by Charles McNary. In 1995, Hatfield was the only Republican in the Senate to vote against the proposed balanced budget amendment, and was the deciding vote that prevented the passage of the bill. In 1996 the National Historical Publications and Records Commission, a group he served on previously, granted him their Distinguished Service Award........read entire article......

ReplyDeleteTREASON AND TED KENNEDY
By Herb Rommerstein ( Author of VENONA SECRETS)
(From the full text of Chebrikov's letter to Andropov........)
........1. Kennedy asks Y.V. Andropov to consider inviting the senator to Moscow for a personal meeting in July of this year. The main purpose of the meeting, according to the senator, would be to arm Soviet officials with explanations regarding problems of nuclear disarmament so they may be better prepared and more convincing during appearances in the USA.
He would also like to inform you that he has planned a trip through Western Europe, where he anticipates meeting England's Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and French President Mitterand in which he will exchange similar ideas regarding the same issues.
If his proposals would be accepted in principle, Kennedy would send his representative to Moscow to resolve questions regarding organizing such a visit.
Kennedy thinks the benefit of a meeting with Y.V. Andropov will be enhanced if he could also invite one of the well known Republican senators, for example, Mark Hatfield. Such a meeting will have a strong impact on American and political circles in the USA. (In March of 1982, Hatfield and Kennedy proposed a project resolution to freeze the nuclear arsenals of the USA and the USSR and published a book on this theme as well.)

ReplyDeleteConstance, the following are excerpts from your past posts. It is interesting to compare some of the dates with the Venona information.
It is interesting to note also that when Mark Hatfield sold his Washington, D.C. home back in the 1980s an ethics investigation was opened as to his finances. Paul N. Temple was the one who bought his house at an obviously artifically inflated price.
My Questions: Did Paul Temple know what he was doing? Did he know the spiritual ramifications of mixing the worst of the New Age with Christianity?
Alternative Question: Did these supposedly Christian people protect the New Age Movement and give it cover because they felt it would offend Paul N. Temple and stop his largesse if they did not?....

"This is interesting on many levels! It could well be an important missing link between several major links I have been following. The State of Oregon was plagued by Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh (Osho) in the 1980s. Mark Hatfield had been the governor of Oregon and thereafter represented the state in the United States Senate. His tenure was engulfed in financial scandal in 1982 when it was revealed that he had profited mightily on two real estate deals involving Paul N. Temple. Paul Temple, we have abundantly proved, was working both the Christian and the New Age powerhouse sides of the fence -- Fellowship Foundation (Abraham Vereide / Doug Coe) and the Institute of Noetic Sciences. Mark Hatfield and Paul Temple were two of the inner group, "The Core" of the Fellowship Foundation. The book pictured credits author Nieves de Madariaga Mathews' inspiration to Osho / Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. Sir Francis Bacon was a recognized pillar of the occult. Nieves is either Javier Solana's mother or a cousin (depending on which of Solana's authorized biographies one believes). She is clearly the elder daughter of Salvador de Madariaga, Javier Solana's main lifetime mentor.

Vatican looks at ways Catholic faith can counter New Age movement
By Carol Glatz
Catholic News Service
VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- People craving deeper meaning or greater fulfillment in their lives should look to what the Catholic faith has to offer rather than turn to the spiritual promises of the New Age movement, a Vatican official said.
"We live in an age in which people go to the spiritual supermarket. We have to remember that within the Catholic Church there is such a variety of mystical traditions, such a variety of religious charisms," said Richard Rouse, an official of the Pontifical Council for Culture.
"You think of all the religious orders, each one is slightly different, but they're all pointing to the same thing, which is your life in communion with God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit," he told Catholic News Service June 16.
Rouse was part of a Vatican working group that organized an international gathering June 14-16 to offer practical tips and help promote a 2003 Vatican provisional report on the New Age movement, "Jesus: The Bearer of the Water of Life."
Bishops' conferences from around the world sent New Age experts to the three-day consultative sessions to respond to that report. They focused on some of the techniques the New Age movement uses to attract people and ways in which the church has stepped up to the challenge.
A Jesuit priest from the Philippines said people in his country are drawn to the New Age movement because it offers a sense of community, which is sometimes lacking in Manila's overcrowded congregations.
The New Age movement gets people to "come together and compare notes and compare one's experiences," providing a sense of warmth and community, Father Romeo Intengan told CNS.
"Sometimes people are reacting to a situation in the Catholic community where things are very impersonal because they go to Mass on Sunday and there are 2,000 people there. You are hardly able to make a connection to your vital interests, your existential concerns," so a smaller, more intimate New Age group tends to fill that void, he said.
The New Age label has been placed on everything from crystals and hugging trees to yoga and foot reflexology. But there is a difference between taking a yoga class or receiving a therapeutic massage and getting wrapped up in the spiritual or metaphysical promises that activity may promote, said Irish Dominican Father Louis Hughes.
"I've been massaged, re-birthed, I've been in the flotation tanks several times, I've had my feet done with reflexology. ... I see no reason why we shouldn't practice techniques like that with our eyes open," he said.
"I say with our eyes open because unfortunately if we don't we may come for the technique and find ourselves staying for the metaphysics and the New Age beliefs" that are "profoundly antithetical to Christian theology and spirituality," he told CNS.
But Father Hughes warned that the church must provide positive outlets to fulfill people's needs.
"We cannot simply say 'that is bad and this is bad.' People are hungry for holistic experiences, holistic spirituality and holistic therapy. If we cannot provide them a holistic experience within the Christian context then they are going to ignore all our prohibitions and warnings," he said.
Father Intengan said the church must do more in promoting itself as being the place to find direct contact with the spiritual.
To be continued
Part 2 of CNS
ReplyDelete"Sometimes people mistakenly think that in the Catholic Church God doesn't speak to you directly, that you have to go through Scripture and the clergy who interprets the Scripture. It's not true," he said.
He pointed to the church's mystical traditions as being ways to have intimate contact with the divine.
"If people see the church responds to their interest in the spiritual and talking to God directly then they will say, 'there is something in the church answering to this; I'll remain a Catholic,'" he said.
Rouse said the Vatican working group will publish a report on the consultative sessions by the end of the summer. The report will contain a "key section on discerning the techniques" the New Age movement uses as well as some "pragmatic ideas" in what the church can do, he said.
"Our Catholic faith in 2,000 years has come up against so many trials, so many heterodox activities, some of which it has adopted, adapted, some of which it has closed the door to and said 'this is not good,'" he said.
"We will set up a list of criteria that people can have and which people can adopt in order to make a judgment about whether a technique is useful, needed or dangerous," he said.

Reading "Clarifier" comments:
ReplyDeleteFr. Hughes was on ONE DANGEROUS PATH. The very act of TRYING the techniques is what leads to a person's possession by New Age spirits. There is just NO WAY to do it with "eyes open." Thomas Merton tried that and probably died a New Ager -- he had just given a keynote speech for the Temple of Understanding in New York, flew to Bangkok and was fatally eletrocuted by his malfunctioning fan. Bishop Rembert Weakland who brags that he introduced much of this to the Catholic world gave Merton his last rites -- after he was ALREADY DEAD.
I just re-read "Clarifier" excerpts from the 2004 Vatican session. It was FR. ROUSE, NOT Fr. Hughes who was clearly on the dangerous path. "Experiencing" it IS THE DANGER.
ReplyDeleteThere were studies I read in the 1980s that showed that "experiencing" these techniques acted to rewire the brain in patterns dangerously similar to drugs. Is he also suggesting taking mind altering drugs with "eyes wide open"???
Constance
Dear Constance,
ReplyDeleteAs a Catholic Christian, I also have a very serious problem whenever someone talks about "technique" when referring to Catholic mysticism which, when authentic, is simply the way of prayer consisting of purgation, illumination and perfection.....ALL the work of grace and the Holy Spirit and NOT something that is dependent on this or that particular "technique."
Moreover, authentic Catholic mysticism would NEVER allow any mystical experience (a.k.a. "private revelations") to trump the Sacred Scriptures!!!
In fact, the great Spanish Catholic mystic, St. Teresa of Avila once wrote that when we pray, we should do so with absolutely NO expectation of experiencing any spiritual pleasures - and that even if such "experiences" did occur, we were to take little notice of them since these can be imitated by the devil. Moreover, a person should not try to discern the authenticity of such experiences on his own. The discernment should be left to an experienced spiritual director.....which, even in St. Teresa's day, could sometimes be hard to find.
She also rather humorously pointed out that the reason why God doesn't always show us the "results" of even our most ordinary prayers is because in our fallenness and in our pride we might very well start running around thinking that we were quite the "little magicians!"
St. Teresa ( and in our own time St. Padre Pio ) would have been the first to say that at the end of the day, it is not mystical experiences that makes saints, but rather humble obedience to the Great Commandment which consists of loving God above all things with one's whole heart, mind and soul and loving one's neighbor out of love for Almighty God.
I would even go as far as saying that if mystical experiences are dependent on any given "technique," then (the way I learned it) we may very well be talking about magic and the occult in which the "technologist" ultimately seeks to control and/or command deity.....and sometimes to even become a "god" himself.
Fr. Ashcraft,
ReplyDeleteThe IHC site is owned and run by Sony pictures. It is a form of viral marketing for the upcoming 2012 movie. Yes the site is disturbing, what is more disturbing is that the site was up for nearly six months with no mention of its affiliation with the movie. However on the surface at least, it is a marketing tool. Below the surface I suspect the intentions are not so innocent.
Teresa of Avila. I remember that Mel Gibson was said to have based lots of his movie about Jesus on writings of that woman. A number of people have written exposes of her. Very strange.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting site about the danger of centering prayer is: wwww.catholic.com/thisrock/
ReplyDeleteIt is written by Rev. John D Dreher and is quite informative about the catholic traditions of contemplative prayer which many emerging christians are using today to find a spiritual closeness to God.
I had been researching contemplative prayer because of the mystical effects and how it is closely tied to new age techniques of TM and self-hypnosis which this artcle addresses. I found it suprising that it was written by a Catholic priest.
Anonymous 3:37 P.M.
ReplyDeleteMel Gibson did not base his movie, THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST, on the writings of St. Teresa of Avila.
He reportedly based his movie on the writings of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich.
Her writings fall under the classification of "private revelations" and as such, Catholics are not required to believe in them even if the Church declares them to be worthy of belief.
In fact, the Vatican disregarded the Dolorous Passion completely when considering Emmerich's beatification.
anonymous 4:23 P.M.
ReplyDeleteThe link didn't work, but I have problems with "techniques" like centering prayer which seems to be far more self-centered than Christ-centered insofar as "results" are expected in terms of mystical experiences.
I also have a problem with priests and members of religious orders who promote such "techniques" and avoid having anything to do with them. Here is an interesting article.

Centering Prayer:
This technique originated in St. Joseph’s Abbey, a Trappist monastery in Spencer, MA. According to Father John D. Dreher, it is neither Christian nor prayer. It is essentially a form of self-hypnosis which makes use of a “mantra,” a word repeated over and over, concentrating on one thing and introducing a hypnotic-like state. God is seen as a part of the universe who can be “experienced” at the centre of one’s being, and not as one who is transcendent, who is other than us, and is a loving Father. It takes these characteristics from Hinduism, through the medium of Transcendental Meditation (T.M.). The introductory ceremony to T.M. involves worship of a dead Hindu guru, and the mantras given those being initiated are, in fact, the names of Hindu gods.7

I found this in reading about the new Dan Brown book over at MSNBC
ReplyDeleteIt mentions Noetic Science and the boost they will be getting from the book:
http://cosmiclog.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2009/09/14/2068282.aspx
Cosmic Log: Do you finally feel vindicated for doing "The Guide"? Are there some guesses you wish you could take back? Have you heard back from anyone about how close your book came to "The Lost Symbol"?
Greg Taylor: The book was never about being absolutely right - it was, as I mention in the introduction, written in the spirit of Dan Brown's books themselves: tracking down clues, interpreting them to find possible answers, but also enjoying the chase as much as the final outcome. The journey, as they say, is sometimes the most important part - and I think the book will have educated readers to some little-known history which might challenge their preconceptions about the founding of the United States and the beginnings of the scientific era.
I have no doubt some of my guesses were off the mark, but I'm happy with the book as a whole - it appears I was correct on a lot of the topics. And what I was wrong about was still fun and educational, I think!
[SLIGHT SPOILER ALERT] Looking through the first few chapters of "The Lost Symbol," it seems that the "new" topic that will benefit from "the Dan Brown effect" is Noetic Science. The female lead in the new book is a Noetic scientist, which reminds me quite a bit of Marilyn Schlitz from the Institute of Noetic Sciences. As you know, parapsychology researcher Dean Radin is also an IONS scientist - so all of these "heretical science" topics (like the Global Consciousness Project) are likely to come to the fore and generate much debate.
Given that my Web site The Daily Grail covers news on both alternative history theories and fresh science, such as that being done at IONS, I'm feeling as if it could be a busy year ahead!

The heretical Charisma magazine has been featuring the ‘words’ of self-professed “Prophet” Chuck Pierce of late.
ReplyDeletehttp://tinyurl.com/rbwbs2
Here are some excerpts:
"I am beginning to amass My people and join them together in troops. They will be land- and structure-changers. They will find and release those [who] were held captive by old ruling systems and release them to be restored…”
Apparently, the plan is to ‘rescue’ those of us ‘held captive’ by ‘religion.’
“I am beginning to move on those people [who] have not known angelic intervention, and they will know angelic intervention.”
Sounds like Bob Jones’ and Todd Bentley’s ‘angels.’
“I will show you new ways to overrule the enemy, and then you will descend as I send you back into the confused noise of the world that you once knew. You will be like a battle axe that has been anointed to cut through and form a path in the midst [of] the enemy's territory.”
Sounds like these ‘angels’ will provide transport to ‘heaven’ from which those in this new ‘army’ will descend. Taking this ‘word’ as a whole, it appears to be the beginnings of “Joel’s Army” [based on Joel 2:1-11] as seen in a ‘vision’ of Rick Joyner a while back.
Chuck Pierce is one of the leaders of the “New Apostolic Reformation” as a leading “Apostle” of the International Coalition of Apostles:
http://www.apostlesnet.net/
From the “Prospectus” tab:
In compliance with scriptures such as Ephesians 4:11, Ephesians 2:20, and 1 Corinthians 12:28, the office of apostle began to be established and recognized by an increasingly wider spectrum of the body of Christ during the 1990s. By the year 2000 the office of apostle had begun to be affirmed and set in place throughout numerous churches of the New Apostolic Reformation…
Don’t be fooled by the Statement of Faith on this site. While this seem to be in line with orthodox Christianity, their practice is FAR from it. These guys are quite skilled at double speak. And, yes, these guys want to take over the ‘church.’
I should point out the definition of the word "apostle:"
ReplyDeletehttp://tinyurl.com/pz5ghu
1) a delegate, messenger, one sent forth with orders
a)specifically applied to the twelve apostles of Christ
b)in a broader sense applied to other eminent Christian teachers
It needs to be pointed out the Eph 4:11 and 1st Corinthians 12:28 verses are of the general defination of "1" above, while Eph 2:20 refers to the original Apostles as in "1a" above.
1) of Barnabas
2) of Timothy and Silvanus
The last two lines were not meant to be in the post. Sorry.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the info on Dan Brown's new book THE LOST SYMBOL. I was trying to find out what the lowdown on the book was, but I read that the publishers were keeping the book under wraps to such an extent that no one even had any inkling of what the book was about.
"Noetic Sciences" is merely a fancy word for things like telekenesis (i.e. "spoon-bending"), telepathy, distance healing, etc.
These are things that human beings are not NATURALLY capable of doing without a little "preternatural" assistance ( often demonic)....unless we are talking about true miracles which are always wrought by God - whether directly or indirectly.
A good example is the "duel" between God - vis a vis His spokesman Moses - and the magicians of Pharoah.
Even Pharoah's magicians recognized the hand of God in some of the plagues of Egypt.
Alas, there is nothing new under the sun!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to the video. What a hoot. All of the pretty people out of their high priced fashion clothing, wearing ordinary people clothing and saying in soft sweet voices "I pledge to do nice things." It's like they got them mellow smoking weed, gave them one line scripts (which is all they could handle while mellow), put them in front of the camera and told them to play the part of zombies.
It's nice to know that now that Barry is in office they will try to be nice people, improving on their behavior during the eight years Bush was in office.
This must be what an Alcoholics Anonymous confessional looks like.

THANK YOU FOR SAYING IT LOUD AND CLEAR.
ReplyDeleteI heard him say it on air years ago by accident, like hearing Dr. Dobson bragging about his meeting the Queen and attending the London meeting.
I see Robertson and Dobson as the same.
Hi Susanna, you are welcome - thank you for the whole "centering" report -

Chuck Colson and Dr. Dobson are best and extremely close friends and have been for years according to Dobson.

I am not a Catholic just an old fashioned Bible believer and I can't believe some of the things that were said or quoted.
ReplyDeleteHow can the "church" decide who gets to be a Saint etc. Man doesn't have the right to decide anything and unless I'm mistaken God doesn't give directions as to whom man can choose.
All the doctrines/Saints etc. seem like layers of humanism to get to Jesus when all you have to do is accept Him as your Lord and Savior when He calls you becoming born again for a direct line to God.
God says not to add or delete anything to His Word and I take that to mean man's doctines/policies also. Am I wrong?
We need order in the church, but God gives directions on that also.

I agree, however, one must also remember that both Luther (Who said the the letter of James was as a book of straw) and Calvin (who said it is God's pleasure to send people to Hell, contrary to what the Holy Bible says, where we learn that God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked.)also tried to add and take away from God's Word. Luther, Calvin, and various RC Popes were responsible for the murder of innocent people.
By their fruits shall she know them. We do not gather grapes from thorn-bushes. We must trust and obey God and His commandments rather than man and the commands of man. There are, however, I believe, Roman Catholics, Calvinists, and Lutherans who are Christians first.

Rob. (London)
Whoops! I don't want to worry people that I too may be some feminist odd-job. In my last post I accidentally wrote, 'By their fruits shall she know them', I really did mean to write, 'by their fruits shall ye know them'.
ReplyDeletePlease excuse this mistake. It proves my point though. Search the Holy Scriptures dilligently, as did the Berean Greeks, and test all that you hear to make sure it is comprehensively compatible with Holy Scripture.
We do not need a Pope, Calvin, nor Luther. Jesus Christ said, 'I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no man comes to the Father but by Me'. Our Lord Jesus Christ did not add Calvin, the Pope, the Patriarch, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Calvin, or Luther in that statement.
I pray that God blesses and keeps you all safe,

Suzette
As to Suzanne's comment about the I pledge video to end slavery. Are you referring to the IJM (International Justice Mission) that I received in an email today asking individuals to host video parties in their home? Danny Glover ( the actor)narrates it and many sponsors are supporting it including an individual from the US security council.
ReplyDeleteDoug, am I that predictable. I hope everyone got a chuckle from my cynical comment.
ReplyDeleteSuzette, knowing that crew and their comments, they probably mean the slavery of living under a capitalist system. There is real, genuine slavery around the world that is documented, but I doubt if these airheads know that it is going on.
I usually forget to thank SV for noticing what I write. I'm thanking you here. Most people act as if the contributions of others are some kind of cheap newspaper they are entitled to free of charge. Contributors such as Suzanne really put hours and hours of work into what they write here.

If getting the truth out can help in any way to turn this country back to the right path, it will have all been well worth while.
At the end of the day, I know that God is ultimately in control.
History is "His-Story," not "Our-Story."
But I recall a clergyman who once preached a sermon in which he said that ideally, each of us must believe that all depends on God, while acting as if all depended on us.

ReplyDeleteTHAT'S WHY THE CATHOLIC CHURCH HAS 'ALL SAINTS DAY' (for all the saints known to God whom human discernment missed).

ReplyDeleteRe: Your comment
How can the "church" decide who gets to be a Saint etc. Man doesn't have the right to decide anything and unless I'm mistaken God doesn't give directions as to whom man can choose.
Please don't think that I am responding with any intention of being argumentative or for the purpose of trying to "convert" you or anyone else.
I am simply sharing information in order to correct your erroneous understanding of Roman Catholic - and Orthodox Catholic - Saints.
The Church does NOT decide who gets to be a Saint. God does.
Moreover, we Catholics believe that God not only decides who gets to be a Saint, but also shows us who some of them are by means of miracles He performs through their intercession.
The Great Commandment to love God and neighbor - a Commandment given to us by Jesus Himself - does not end with death.
In fact, the Bible tells us that love is stronger than death. Christ's Resurrection from the dead and His apparitions to the Apostles and to more than 500 people before His Ascension to the Father confirmed this.
You also said,
All the doctrines/Saints etc. seem like layers of humanism to get to Jesus when all you have to do is accept Him as your Lord and Savior when He calls you becoming born again for a direct line to God.
There is nothing wrong with going directly to Jesus as you imply that you do, but you need to understand that Catholics don't pray to Saints.
Catholics only pray to God.
But sometimes Catholics also ask the Saints to pray for them to God. This does not in any way mean that we do not accept Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior. We do. I know I do.
I can certainly understand your concerns about New Age dangers - especially with regard to trying to make contact with the dead - something which we Catholics are forbidden to do because of the risk of opening the door to demonic influences.
But asking formally canonized Saints to intercede for us to God is an entirely different thing, and we Catholics don't believe that it is any more wrong for a person to ask a beloved brother or sister in Heaven to pray for us than it would be for us to ask a beloved brother or sister here on earth to pray for us.
I guarantee, moreover, that praying for us to the Lord our God is the LAST thing that the devil would ever do!!!
Without engaging in religious polemics here, I would point out that the problem with regard to misunderstandings on the part of Catholics AND Protestants is largely due to the fact that we have different Rules of Faith and DIFFERENT Old Testament canons.
Rob from London (bless his heart) is right in not assuming that Roman Catholics are not "Christians first."
The way I learned it, to put ANYTHING before Christ would be idolatry. Therefore, people need to be careful about assuming that Catholics do not regard Christ as their "First Love."
As I have clearly stated on many occasions, anyone interested in knowing my rock bottom Christological beliefs as a Roman Catholic can simply check out the Creeds of Chalcedon and Nicaea.
http://www.theopedia.com/Chalcedonian_Creed
http://www.theopedia.com/Nicene_Creed
Again, I am not saying you have to agree with me. I am simply asking in all humility that when you do disagree, you make sure that you correctly understand what it is that you are disagreeing with.

Susanna

Hi Constance,
ReplyDeletewell, I did not know I had one either - so that news is a bit unnerving at the moment :)
Seriously, I do not have a web sight - is there something that made you think that?
And praise be to the Lord God Almighty -
that is a very constructive conversation Susanna - I also want to say hello to Rob and I appreciate his heart in the matter also.
It is possible to understand each other - and disagree at times - without being disagreeable.

Dear Dorothy,
ReplyDeleteI do always appreciate your contributions here (and on Rich's blog), and your contributions to the forum you linked for us a while back. Your knowledge/research is vast, while your approach to sharing it is humble and straight forward. I find that to be particularly admirable because it is a rare quality.
Dear Constance,
You are also very gifted in your ability to bring so many folks from different walks of life into the conversation with such a gracious and humble spirit.
Dear Susanna,
I know that I've been a negligent contributor as of late, but I can't thank you enough for your contributions as well.
Dorothy and you have the amazing ability to pay close attention to the details not only with your own research, but also to the research of other contributors, and you both faithfully respond whether it is to correct skewed information (of religious content or otherwise), or whether to continue the thread further with contributory information and links for personal research.
Thank you so very much for sharing the information that you've labored over. I hope to get better at faithful contribution over time. Please know that I never take your contributions for granted.
By His grace,
-SV
SV,
ReplyDeleteYour kind words are deeply appreciated. Over the last 30 years I've put much effort into trying to warn others of the dangers of the New Age movement and its ugly offshoots. Very few people understand how hard it has been to sift through the mounds of junk information, the endless opinions, the dead ends, the speculation, the disinformation, the scepticism of others, and the smugness of the foolish to come up with the rare pieces of new information that are meant to illuminate the underbelly of our society.
There really should be an academy of researchers in this field, but alas there is none and so those of us who are amateur researchers attempting to do all in our spare time are what is left.
There are many worthwhile volunteer activities that need to be done in the world, and I appreciate what other individuals may be doing, so this is not putting what I do above what they may be doing.
There are no conferences giving recognition to all the work that has been done by those who do volunteer work in this field, so words like yours are deeply appreciated. I'll take your kind words as appreciation to all, including you, who contribute here and at other websites to keep us aware of the New Age movement.
Dorothy
Dear SV,
ReplyDeleteTHANKS! MANY THANKS!
Your kind words are appreciated more than you will ever know.
Constance
Dear SV,
ReplyDeleteI too greatly appreciate your kind words as well as all the valuable contributions you have made here and elsewhere.
It is so nice to see that you and others do understand that I am simply interested in sharing objective information and allowing others to draw their own conclusions.
When I do any "editorializing," I try to clearly label it as such.
This is the problem with much of the mainstream news media these days.
It no longer seems to know the difference between a factual news report and an editorial.
LOL! I would even go as far as to say that most of the "citizen journalists" here do a better job discerning fact from fiction than the current propaganda rags trying to pass for "news publications!"
SV-
ReplyDeleteYou have echoed what I have thought. Constance, Susanna, and Dorothy are very good "tag team reaserchers".
But don't sell yourself short, you (and many others) make these blog comments work.
Sometimes it is hard to keep up with everything all at once. I think that is what makes places like this invaluable. I might see more and pay attention more to the New Age appearing in entertainment. But others are better in a world wide scope (something I have yet to grasp)
Blessings
Dear Dawn,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your encouraging words. :^)
By His Grace,

Exactly Susanna! We've enough on our plates as Christians exposing the 'New Age' Luciferian plans of the NWO muppets without attacking each other. There are things I personally disagree with in the various Orthodox denominations, in Roman Catholicism, and in the various Protestant denominations. Where I agree with all of them is that in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was and is God and all thing though Him were made, that His Name is Jesus Christ and He is the Only Begotten Son of the Father, that He, the Word, was made flesh, was born of a Virgin, Mary, walked upon Earth as a Man and as God, He resisted the Devil, He was without sin, yet took upon the sins of the World on the cross and died, conquering the power of sin and giving everlasting life to whosoever should believe in Him, that they should ask for forgiveness and at the same time turn away from their sins, recognising that they are cleansed by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. That Jesus Christ rose again on the third day, is seated at the right hand of the Father, and He will come again in Glory to judge the living and the dead, and His Kingdom shall have no end. Praise God!
In order to keep the first of the two greatest Commandments, we must also keep the second, as to love the Lord our God is to keep his commandments.
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
Thank you Susanna for your kind words to me and bless your heart too. I am sure you would agree with me in sayng that I just wish Catholics AND Protestants would stop bickering and pointing fingers and remember, although it is a long-winded and elementary way of putting it, the points I have highlighted above. God bless you, Dorothy, and Constance, and all here, and thank you for all the hard work you do in fighting for truth and exposing the enemy.
Rob, (in London, England)
Dear Rob,
ReplyDeleteI can't think of anything that you have said in your comments that I would disagree with.
I especially agree with you in your saying:
I just wish Catholics AND Protestants would stop bickering and pointing fingers and remember, although it is a long-winded and elementary way of putting it, the points I have highlighted above.
Your way of putting it was NOT in the least bit longwinded either.
The New Age Luciferian movement is a modern form of heretical gnosticism and it is just as much a danger today (to ALL Christians) as it was in the earliest days of Christianity.
From those earliest Christian times, the two chief dangers to Christianity have been emperor worship and gnosticism.
If you study the history of Christianity, moreover, you will find that down through the centuries, these two dangers have had a tendency to go tandem.
This is because of gnosticism's strong pantheistic strain, according to which, the universe is somehow all or a "part of" god. It is precisely this strong pantheistic strain which has made gnosticism user - friendly to every would-be "divine emperor" and false messiah that has come down the pike.
"Emperor worship" itself has taken many forms down through the centuries - the most modern of which is the radical "statism" which may be defined in terms of the totalitarian socialist regimes of our own era.....led by men such as Robespierre, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, etc.
Many people don't realize that the 19th-century French occult author and magician and founder of modern occultism, Eliphas Levi was a "utopian socialist"/revolutionary communist and was a disciple of a socialist "prophet" named Ganneau ( the "Mapah")along with Flora Tristan, grandmother of artist Paul Gaugin.
http://tinyurl.com/nbgzay
Flora Tristan was a kind of "female messiah." Many people don't know about the socialist obsession with "androgyny" in the 19th century - an obsession which seems to have carried over into our own century.
Ganneau, Constant, et al tried to hijack traditional Marian beliefs and after twisting them, deploy them in the service of their own occult agenda.
http://www.h-net.org/reviews/showpdf.php?id=14206
Of course, if one knows about the gnostic focus on "the feminine principle" or "Sophia," one can understand how the 19th century occultists in their attempt to infiltrate Roman Catholic Christianity, were trying to disguise the gnostic "Sophia"/"Achmoth" as the Virgin Mary - similar to the way pagan deities are disguised as saints in the syncretic religion of Caribbean origin known as Santeria.....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santer%C3%ADa
or Haitian Vodou
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haitian_Vodou
If I am speaking purely from the perspective of gnostic infiltration into Roman Catholicism, it is because Roman Catholicism is my experience, but I am sure that gnosticism has found ways to infiltrate the Protestant communions as well.
I leave it to Protestants to explain to me how this has occurred.
In the Bible, the first significant example of gnosticism is the story of Simon Magus which is to be found in the Acts of the Apostles.
Even if you do not accept the religious authority of the Church Fathers, their writings are nevertheless valuable if only from a purely historical perspective....and many of the Church Fathers (i.e.Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, etc.) have plenty to say about the "falsely so-called knowledge" of demonically inspired and assisted "wonder-workering" false messiah, Simon Magus and his successors.......the "New Agers" of their time.
I would be interested in knowing what you have learned about gnosticism, Rob.
Have a great weekend!
Susanna
It is just this type of thinking that the NEW AGE movement is based on.NEW AGERS believe spritualy, that the Hundreth monkey” theory works and if they can convert enough people to their beliefs that we will achieve enlightenment. They have also linked that event to the coming alignment to the galactic center in 2012.The history channel is doing a bang up job for them with the propaganda on this event….. but this alignment is not only found in Nostradamus’ work but in Fulcanelli’s work as well. The cross of Hendaye is the same Galactic alignment that the NEW AGE is focusing on and why the leaders of our country are in such a big rush to get the job done.Utopia is within sight.
ReplyDeleteHere is an interesting article about one of "Fulcanelli's" disciples - Rene Schwaller de Lubicz - from the February 28, 1988 edition of the New York Times.
ReplyDeleteTHAT OLD BLACK MAGIC
http://www.nytimes.com/
1988/02/28/books/that-old-black-magic.html
Apparently Les Veilleurs - a.k.a. "The Watchers" - had many things in common with the Thule Society and seems to have embraced the "Hundredth Monkey" theory.
Speaking of Black Magic, many of the same people who were involved with the Messianic group "Les Veilleurs" were also involved with a group which, according to French author and occultist Robert Ambelain, is said to have practiced black magic.
It was called "Le Grande Lunaire" and its sigil was the "Baphometis" of Eliphas Levi infamy. Schwaller de Lubicz was reportedly one of the members.
Just for the record, after one of the members of "Le Grande Lunaire" named Jules Boucher left the order, the Gnostic Bishop of Lyon was called upon to perform an exorcism on Boucher.
