Tensions are growing between European Union and Israel

Tensions are growing between the European Union and Israel. Per an Associated Press article yesterday, April 30, 2009, Israel has warned the European Union it must tone down its anti-Israeli rhetoric. Blamed for same were the statements of of EU troika member Benita Ferrero-Waldner. Until either an European constitution and/or Lisbon Treaty is ratified, the 3 member troika remains in place: The 6 month rotating presidency of the European Union (presently Czech Republic), the European Commission's Commissioner for External Affairs (presently Benita Ferrero-Waldner) and the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers of the European Union who is also the Secretary General of the Western European Union as well as the office of the High Representative for the Common Security and Foreign Policy (SG/HR), Javier Solana. Once the Lisbon Treaty is in place, presumably the Foreign Minister designate, Javier Solana, will be the sole voice for Europe to make statements such as those now attributed to Benita Ferrero-Waldner.

As the Barcelona Process plans for the Mediterranean Free Trade Zone are for it to be fully in place by 2010, it would appear that Dr. Solana is walking a diplomatic tightrope these days. Israel's criticisms could lead to demands that the Lisbon ratification process be speeded. On the other hand, it could given European leaders such as Dr. Solana impelled motivation to take a harder line against Israel.

Things are getting interesting. Things are getting hot. Stay tuned!

  1. Israel warns EU to tone down its criticism
By JOSEF FEDERMAN – 1 day ago

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel warned the European Union on Thursday to tone down its criticism of the new Israeli government or risk forfeiting the bloc's role as broker in Mideast peace efforts.

The warning came after EU's commissioner for external relations, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, this week criticized Israel's refusal to endorse a Palestinian state. She said an upgrade in Israeli-EU relations would depend on Israel's commitment to the "two-state solution."

  2. On Reconciliation with the Palestinians - An Interview with Historian Benny Morris - Evan R. Goldstein
In his new book, One State, Two States: Resolving the Israel/Palestine Conflict, Benny Morris, a professor of history at Ben-Gurion University, argues that the Palestinian national movement has never in fact reconciled itself to Israel's existence as a Jewish state. "Morris is a one-man microcosm of what many Israeli Jews of the Labor-Zionist strain have undergone in the past decade," says David B. Green, opinion editor at Ha'aretz's English edition. "They recognize that we're not on the verge of peace, that this conflict may not be resolvable, and that they were naive to think that was the case."
Morris's optimism was shattered in 2000 when Yasir Arafat rejecte Ehud Barak and Bill Clinton's two-state proposals. "Not only did they say no, but they launched a terroristic and guerrilla war against both the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza and Israel itself, suggesting that they are not just after the territories but want to drive the Jews out of Palestine," Morris says. Referring to Israel's unilateral withdrawal from Gaza in 2005, he said, "The moment Israel pulled out from a chunk of Arab territory, as the Arabs have always been demanding, it turned into a base for rocket attacks."
"Talk to any Palestinian; they don't know about the Jewish past, and Jewish suffering doesn't interest them," he says. "They believe that Jews have no legitimate right [to] be here. That belief underlines their vision that Palestine must be all Arab and must be regained by them down the road." "The peace camp has been tragically undermined by Arab recalcitrance. When an Israeli politician campaigns on a plan to broker a two-stat solution, the Israeli public is no longer interested because they know the other side doesn't want it. So they vote for Netanyahu or someone else who speaks in terms of conflict management rather than solutions."
On Iran, Morris says: "Iran is building atomic weapons at least in part - maybe in large part - because it intends to use them. The people there are religious fanatics....Israel is under existential threat, and that is how Israel's military and political leaders must see the situation." (Foreign Policy)

  3. IDF Officer Outlines Israeli Military Ethics in Gaza - Debra Rubin

Imagine you are a soldier in the field when a suspected suicide bomber comes at you. Should you shoot or not? "Eight seconds - that's all you have to decide," said Col. Bentzi Gruber, a reserve commander in the Israel Defense Forces. Speaking April 22 to a group of Rutgers University students, Gruber showed actual films from the recent Gaza operation. The students saw cars loaded with explosives detonating, secret tunnels, and booby-trapped houses. Gruber also showed Gazans grabbing and using children as shields as they run across streets. "They do this because they know we won't shoot," said Gruber, who outlined how the IDF strives to minimize civilian casualties even in the middle of war. "We won't do it. A Palestinian kid and a Jewish kid are the same thing to me."

If a pilot spots a terrorist in a taxi with four children, he said, "we won't shoot even if this terrorist killed 10 people yesterday and four soldiers today. We will wait and find him another day." Gruber used footage of a man with a rocket launcher on a crowded street as another example of a non-shooting situation because of the potential danger to innocent civilians. These policies have held down collateral damage to civilians to rates far below that of U.S. forces in Iraqi hotspots like Fallujah, according to Gruber.

"If Tijuana started to launch rockets into Los Angeles, how long do you think it would take the U.S. Army to respond - three days, three months, three years? How about three seconds?" By contrast, Israel suffered more than three years of missile attacks in the south before launching the Gaza initiative. Palestinians also use ambulances, schools, mosques, and homes to hide caches of weapons and launch rockets and as hiding places fo fighters, he said. He showed film of terrorists climbing into an ambulance as he instructed the audience to count with him. He stopped the film as the seventh armed man climbed in. (New Jersey Jewish News)

    One civilization clashing

    By Caroline B. Glick

    http://www.JewishWorldReview.com

On June 7 Hizbullah will likely take over Lebanon and formally bring the oldest Arab democracy into the Iranian axis. Iran's stalking horse will not become the ruler of the largely pro-Western, non-Shiite majority country through a violent revolution. Lebanon will become yet another Iranian vassal state through ballots, not bullets. On June 7, Hizbullah and its allied parties are set to win a smashing popular victory in Lebanon's parliamentary elections.

Hizbullah's projected victory in these elections is of course not an isolated event. It is part of an Islamist electoral sweep in democratic elections throughout the region. Indeed, Islamists have won every free or partially free election in the region for the past six years.

Beginning with Turkey's Islamist AKP party's first electoral victory in 2003 — followed by its even more decisive reelection in last year's race; moving to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's election in the relatively free, (although not open), presidential elections in his country in 2005, to the Muslim Brotherhood candidates' sweep of nearly all electoral races they were permitted to contest in Egypt's 2005 parliamentary elections, to Hamas's electoral victory in the Palestinian Authority's legislative elections in 2006, the Islamist candidates and parties have been victorious in state after state.

The only outlier in this pattern is Iraq. But then, Iraq is the only country in the region where the West overthrew an enemy regime and retained an empowered military force in the country in the years that followed. What will happen in Iraq once US forces are withdrawn is an open question.

Generally speaking, Western analysts have attributed the Islamists' victories to their well-run welfare programs for the poor, and to the fact that unlike their secular opponents, Islamist parties and politicians are perceived an honest. No doubt, economic interests have played a role in their election. But the fact is that people who voted for the likes of Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood and Ahmadinejad, and those who are poised to vote for Hizbullah are not blind and they are not disengaged from the ideological currents of their societies. They know full-well what these parties and their leaders represent and seek.

Turkish voters, for instance know that Prime Minister Recep Erdogan wishes for Turkey to be an Islamic state and a leader in the Islamic world. Palestinian voters did not vote for Hamas just because it runs the best soup kitchens. They supported Hamas because they support its goal of destroying Israel. Iranian voters chose Ahmadinejad over former president Akhbar Hashemi Rafsanjani not merely because Rafsanjani was corrupt, but because of Ahmadinejad's outspoken extremism. Muslim Brotherhood supporters in Egypt know that the jihadist movement calls for the overthrow of the government and its replacement with a caliphate and that the group spawned both al Qaida and Hamas. And in Lebanon, voters know that a vote for Hizbullah is a vote for war against Israel and the West and a vote for placing Lebanon under effective Iranian control.

They know all this, and still they vote for these parties and leaders. And once in office, these leaders do not disappoint them. In addition to expanding welfare benefits for their supporters, they have worked steadily and aggressively to Islamify their societies internally and to strengthen their alliances with likeminded governments against the West in foreign affairs. At home, through patronage, repression of political opponents, introduction of Islamic laws, and incitement against the West, these democratically elected regimes have been moving their people further and further away from secularism.

As for the burgeoning alliances between and among these likeminded jihadist states, events of the past week alone make clear that backed by popular support at home, these governments are steadily expanding their military and commercial ties in a naked bid to challenge and defeat the West.

Buffeted by US President Barack Obama's warm embrace of Turkey earlier in the month, Erdogan has moves swiftly to consolidate his place as a central pillar in the new regional jihadist axis spearheaded by Iran, which includes Syria, Lebanon and the Palestinian Authority. Over the past week, his government signed a military pact with Lebanon committing Turkey to providing arms and training for the Lebanese army — a force which is already largely subservient to Hizbullah and will likely come under its complete control on June 7.

It signed a defense agreement with Syria's Ministry of Defense, and even more provocatively conducted a three-day joint land forces exercise with the Syrian military. This was the first joint exercise between Syria and a NATO member.

As for Iran, Turkey signed a trade agreement with the mullocracy that is slated to double bilateral trade between the two countries within five years. Even more significantly, Ankara gave a green light to Iranian gas exports to Europe through the Nabucco gas pipeline which runs from Turkey to Austria. The Nabucco pipeline was supposed to bypass both Iran and Russia and increase instead gas exports from the former Soviet republics to Europe. Iran's access to the pipeline will earn it billions of dollars in annual income and increase its political power as Europe increases it dependence on Iranian gas.

Both the popularity of Islamist parties and their behavior after being popularly elected have confounded conventional Western reasoning — particularly in the US. Quite simply, successive administrations in Washington have been unable to provide an accurate explanation of what drives the populations of these countries, and increasingly of the Islamic world in general to support Islamist parties and movements.

In the aftermath of the Sept. 11 attacks, the Bush administration came to the conclusion that it isn't that these parties and movements are popular. It is just that people are intimidated into supporting them. Were the people given the freedom to choose, they would choose to be led by liberal political forces interested in living at peace with the West. For former president George W. Bush and his advisors, the root of Islamic extremism was authoritarianism and the solution was Westernization through open elections.

When time after time the citizens of these countries or societies voluntarily elected jihadists, the Bush administration was confounded. Rather than seek an alternative explanation to understand what was happening, the administration alternatively denied reality — as in the case of Turkey where it pretended that the AKP was a moderate, pro-Western Islamist party in the face of incontrovertible evidence to the contrary. Or they claimed that the people were simply voting against corruption and showered them with money — as has been the case with the Hamas-supporting Palestinians. Or, as in the case of Egypt and Iran, they have simply ignored the fact that elections took place. The same of course occurred after Hizbullah's violent coup last May. Rather than cut off ties with the Saniora government — which had been compelled to accept Hizbullah control over its affairs — the Bush administration continued to support Saniora and increased US military assistance to the Lebanese army — hoping that it could pretend away the problem.

Since his first moments in office, President Barack Obama has embarked on a policy course which rejects Bush's belief that the quest for freedom is universal as so much American chauvinism. For Obama, Islamic hostility towards the West is caused by American arrogance, not the absence of freedom. And because American arrogance is the root of the problem, the solution must be American contrition. It is this view that propels Obama from one international apology tour to the next and causes him to air the CIA's laundry in public. As far as he is concerned, the more apologetic he is, the more contrition he expresses for the actions of his predecessors, the greater the pay-off will be.

And yet, as we see from the behavior of Lebanon, Turkey, Syria and Iran over the past week alone, Obama's apologetics are not winning them over, but emboldening them to take more aggressive positions against the West. How can this be explained?

There is an alternative explanation for the behavior of the peoples of the Islamic world that actually can explain events, and has successfully forecast them. It has even engendered policy recommendations that might have mitigated both the popularity of Islamist parties and deterred these parties, once elected from taking provocative steps against Western states and interests. Unfortunately, every time this explanation is raised, Western policy makers head for the hills.

This explanation is really nothing more than an observation. It observes that the populations of Islamic countries and societies support Islamist parties like the AKP and Hizbullah and Hamas because they support what they stand for. This explanation notes that tens and hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, Lebanese, Iranians, Turks, Egyptians and others voluntarily congregate in public venues and swoon when Islamist leaders tell them that Islam will defeat the West and promise the death of America and the death of Israel.

The jihadist message resonates with them. Their hearts and minds have already been won over. Contrary to what Western leaders as distinct as Bush and Obama believe, the hearts and minds of the Islamic world are not presently in play. From Beirut to the Taliban-controlled Northwest Frontier Province in Pakistan, jihadists enjoy public support because the public supports their aim of defeating the West with bullets, with bombs, and with ballots.

It is too early to know how Obama will react when he like Bush is no longer able to deny that his strategy for winning over the hearts and minds of the Islamic world has failed. We don't know if like Bush before him, he will simply ignore reality and pretend that nothing has happened; if he will blame his political opponents or Israel for not joining him in his contrition; or if he will cast about for another central organizing principle that will explain hostile Islamic behavior.

What is clear is that in the absence of Western — and specifically American — willingness to consider the possibility that what is happening in the Islamic world has next to nothing to do with either what the West embodies or what it has done, and everything to do with the resonance of the Islamist message within the Islamic world, events like the expected loss of Lebanon in June will continue to be met with incoherent prattling and confusion.

Like it or not, it appears that the rising forces in the Islamic world perceive themselves as at war with Western civilization. They cannot be convinced to believe otherwise by either elections or apologies. And the current situation, in which only one side is willing to recognize that there is a war going on between two mutually exclusive ways of organizing human societies, will only lead us to more violent and devastating clashes in the future.

  8. Obama’s Request to Cover Christian Symbol Reveals Country’s Move toward Socialism, Secularism, Congressman Says

(CNSNews.com) - Rep. John Fleming (R-La.) said he was “disturbed” by President Barack Obama’s request to have the symbolic name for Jesus Christ – IHS – covered from a pediment that was visible behind him when he spoke at Georgetown University’s Gaston Hall on April 14.

“I join many Christians in expressing my outrage at this request,” Fleming said after requesting one minute to speak on the House floor.

“This administration has no problem spending money imprinted with the phrase, ‘In God We Trust,’ but won’t have our president speak with any symbol of Christ in public view,” Fleming said

  9. Dear Len:

Your comments are so very much appreciated. I have a thick and expensive book in my office SECURITY AND ENVIRONMENT IN THE MEDITERRANEAN: CONCEPTUALISING SECURTIY AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONFLICTS. Hans Gunter Brauch, et al are authors. It is published by Springer. It is most clear to me from the portions of the book I have finished reading that:

    1. A Mediterranean Free Trade Zone by 2010 is a goal.
    2. Israel is considered a total fly in the ointment on this scheme which is expected to generate MUCH REVENUE and opportunity for the European Union.

If you don't already have that tome which has 1134 pages in not the largest typeface, you will want to peruse it. Your valuable input here has not diminished my suspicions as to where that process is going -- an ultimate goal might well be to attempt to take Israel out of the game.

They approve of removing Israel however that may be done, by agreement or aggresion. They have been trained to think of Israel as the Little Satan, and the US as the Big Satan. The have been motivated by something stronger than what we have in the West; once we had it, but now we are fractured.

According to the Parental Rights website, the CRC dictates the following:

    * Parents would no longer be able to administer reasonable spankings to their children.

    * A murderer aged 17 years, 11 months and 29 days at the time of his crime could no longer be sentenced to life in prison.

    * Children would have the ability to choose their own religion while parents would only have the authority to give their children advice about religion.

    * The best interest of the child principle would give the government the ability to override every decision made by every parent if a government worker disagreed with the parent's decision.

    * A child's "right to be heard" would allow him (or her) to seek governmental review of every parental decision with which the child disagreed.

    * According to existing interpretation, it would be illegal for a nation to spend more on national defense than it does on children's welfare.

    * Children would acquire a legally enforceable right to leisure.

    * Teaching children about Christianity in schools has been held to be out of compliance with the CRC.

    * Allowing parents to opt their children out of sex education has been held to be out of compliance with the CRC.

    * Children would have the right to reproductive health information and services, including abortions, without parental knowledge or consent.

Our prescient Lord Jesus Christ said: “Unless this period (tribulation) had been cut short, no human being could survive. But this period will be cut short for the sake of God’s chosen ones.” What is to come is terrible, what happened to Israel during the time of Daniel was terrible, the captivity in Egypt was terrible, but the scripture cannot be broken. “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. . .” we don’t understand, we don’t seek Him, and we are all become unprofitable, we are enemies of God; but there is the “much more of grace.” I believe that the great challenge for us, for me anyway, is to not let the love of God in me grow cold.
I believe that we must warn as if we can make a difference, and we can within the parameters of national and political failure. The JWR article referenced by Len attempts to warn; I sent it out to a number of friends and family, but to them it is a nuisance. I have sent links to Constance’s blog to many, many people, Christians and not, but over a considerable time only one person has even referenced this valuable, or might I dare say indispensable resource. It is frustrating, I have been warning neighbors, family, and friends since 1966; the prophecies have so converged as to be irrefutable, yet “we” still turn from the inevitable as did England and France in 1938. If you have seen the movie “Nowhere in Africa” you have a sense of how I feel. One thing the movie fails to express is the inevitable conflict that as the dark cloud of Nazism which they were fleeing; Islam is precipitating the same kind of storm. Dear Len,

    Excellent posts!

Perhaps another thing that needs to be more fully addressed is the common cause being made between white supremacists/neo-Nazis and radical jihadists.

This alone is enough reason to be a tad suspicious of most of the so-called Middle East "peace plans" being proposed by those claiming to speak for the EU.

Here are a couple of fairly recent articles that do address this issue.

By the way, Hamas is believed by many - including Binyamin Netanyahu - to be little more than an Iranian proxy.

JIHAD and JEW-HATRED: AN INTERVIEW WITH MATJIAS KUNTZEL

Alan Johnson: In your book you show that from the 1930s to the mid 1940s there was a growth of 'personal contacts and ideological affinities between early Islamism and late Nazism'. Let's talk about two people who acted as bridges between an older, doctrinal or Koranic anti-Judaism and a modern political and Islamist antisemitism, influenced by Nazism: Haj Amin al-Husseini, the mufti of Jerusalem, and Hassan al-Banna, the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood. First, who was Haj Amin al-Husseini and what was his central achievement?

Matthias Küntzel: The main achievement of Haj Amin al-Husseini, the Mufti of Jerusalem, was to combine the Jew-hatred of ancient Islam with modern antisemitism into a new and persuasive rhetoric. I discovered a speech he gave in 1937 with the title, 'Jewry and Islam'. Here, he intermingled modern antisemitism with the stories of very early Islam, going back and forth from the 7th and the 20th centuries, and connecting both kinds of Jew-hatred. This was something new....

.....The Mufti (of Jerusalem) was the most important founder of modern Islamic antisemitism and this achievement – with all its after-effects – is more important than his role during the Nazi time. Amin el-Husseini is often reduced to this time. But I think that what he did before and after this period of time was much more important. Before, he created the new antisemitic rhetoric, the rhetoric the Islamists would spread. Between 1946 and 1948, he played a key role in mobilising the Arab world against Israel. Sometimes individuals can change a lot, and the Mufti was by far the best-known representative of the Muslim world at that time, among other things because of his broadcasting of pro-Nazi and antisemitic sermons into the Middle East during the war over the Berlin short wave transmitter. He pursued his passion after May 8, 1945 and stirred up a specifically antisemitic hatred against the Jews in Palestine and Israel

Yesterday (May 1st), I called the Comal County Health Department to ask about the rumor on the Internet that there were 100 new cases of the Swine Flu that were NOT being reported by either local or national mainstream media.

I was told that there are only TWO confirmed cases of the Swine Flu in Comal County (which serves the town of New Braunfels, Texas)

Since I live in the Houston area (less than a 3 hour drive from New Braunfels), I wanted to call them myself.

I was also referred to their newspaper website: www.herald-zeitung.com

The article below does mention that there are about 100 possible cases that are still being tested.

Also, it is important to remember that this is pollen allergy season. Sometimes an upper respiratory sinus infection - with bodily aches, fever, and hacking cough - can mimic the flu. Once a year, I experience a pollen allergy fare up - where people have actually asked me if I had the flu.

So, although these concerns are NOT to be ignored or dismissed, it is important to try to keep a perspective amid all of the hysteria.

    2 Swine Flu Cases Confirmed

    By Chris Cobb
    The Herald-Zeitung
    Published May 1, 2009

The first two confirmed cases of swine flu in Comal County were reported on Thursday.

County Health Authority Dr. Dorothy Overman said two students — one at New Braunfels High School and another at Freiheit Elementary — became the first local residents to be diagnosed officially with the potentially fatal virus.

Another two highly probable cases have been sent to the national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for confirmation, and more than 100 possible cases collected in Comal County still are being tested for the disease, Overman said during a Thursday news conference at the New Braunfels Civic Convention Center.

The first concrete evidence of the virus’ spread into the county comes two days after public and private school officials ordered a shutdown of every school campus until May 11, and Overman recommended that all citize ns avoid public gatherings to reduce the risk of exposure to the rapidly spreading new viral strain.

County Judge Danny Scheel took the news as vindication for what some believe was the county’s drastic recommendations and prevention measures, and proof that those treating the spread of the disease lightly should take caution.

“I would have agreed with them three days ago,” Scheel said. “But after I watched the indicators that we’ve had in the last 48 hours, I’m fully in agreement that we’ve done the right thing and that the rest of the state is moving forward to do the right thing.”

The number of CDC-confirmed swine flu cases in the United States has more than doubled since Monday. Eight of those cases have been in neighboring Guadalupe County. Over that same span, Comal County has jumped from zero reported possible cases to 107 samples of Type A influenza that are currently being tested for signs of swine flu.

The two confirmed local cases and the two highly probable samples all came from Comal County students, Overman said, adding that students are often more at risk because of their environment.

“Schools always have been known to be reservoirs of infection,” Overman said.

But despite orders from health, school and county officials to avoid public gatherings, students were meeting in large numbers Wednesday at local movie theaters and some local events were going to continue as planned this w eekend.

“It’s not perfect,” New Braunfels Independent School District Superintendent Mike Smith said. “People are meeting at Wal-Mart, they’re going to the movies. Last time I checked it was a free country.”

Texas Governor Rick Perry issued a statewide disaster declaration Wednesday in response to the outbreak.

County officials were unclear as to whether that would give the county judge expanded authority or the power to issue an outright legal ban on public gatherings.

“I don’t want to go overboard,” Scheel said earlier in the day. “I don’t want to do anything if I don’t have to.”

Scheel said he hoped parents would be “interested enough in their children” to keep them from being potentially exposed to the disease and that event organizers would work to avoid large gatherings.

Be cautious also of the Farrell Constitutional Amendment initiative which, if successful, could result in a Constitutional Convention. He was closely allied with the LaHayes who were financially and personally bonded (as was Jerry Falwell) with Unification Church. Unification Church is antichrist to its very core and working with Benjamin Creme and Company although Joseph Tully, CAUSA's executive director (a political arm of Unification Church) that "yes, we work with Benjamin Creme AND TARA CENTER but we don't all agree on who that new Christ is." My reply to him: Yes, but you all agree on who he isn't.

The Associated Press is reporting Hawaii governor Linda Lingle as saying the World Health Organization is considering raising the pandemic alert level to phase 6, the highest level indicating a global outbreak of the swine flu. Lingle said she discussed the alert level with federal and state health officials on Friday. Maj. Gen. Robert G.F. Lee, Hawaii’s adjutant general and head of state civil defense, also said the alert level could be changed this weekend.

Thanks for the information! I'm still learning. I came across your blog maybe 8 or 9 months ago and recently finished your two books on the New Age Movement. I have two little ones and one on the way. What do we do if they try to take our parental rights away? I can't possibly stop teaching my children about Jesus. I love them with all my heart and part of caring for them is showing them the means for Salvation and praying they make the decision for Jesus. Those who would take my children away from me for that are simply bent on the destruction of all of our souls--the children as well.

"an ultimate goal might well be to attempt to take Israel out of the game."

    Dear Constance,

That seems to be the way the chips are falling and it will revive talk of the "Manchurian candidate" with a Muslim background. Below is a hot copyrighted Debka.com article on the apparent road ahead which I am again presenting in full under fair use principles. We should keep in mind that it is not just about Israel but affects us all.

Netanyahu heads for collision with Obama administration

    May 2, 2009

Israeli president Shimon Peres' task in Washington on May 4-5 is to blunt the sharp edge the White House is honing to force Israel to toe the new Washington line on the Palestinians, Syria and Iran.

Prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu can expect the full force of a bludgeon to be wielded in his White House talks on May 18.

DEBKAfile's Washington sources report that their host is fired up to be the first US president in decades of close friendship and cooperation to clash openly with Israel and the bulk of US Jewry. Oblivious to Israel's claim of US support for its security in a hostile regional environment, Barack Obama is expected to squeeze the Netanyahu government hard for immediate engagement on the Middle East conflict without further delay.

According to our sources, the White House staff is working at top speed on options for imposing its will.

Peres and Netanyahu will be informed that Washington is setting up two trilateral peace commissions to hammer out peace accords between Israel and the Palestinians and Israel with the Syrians.

US officials in both chairs will intercede with their own ideas to prevent them running into deadlock on disputed issues. DEBKAfile's sources confirm that the Obama administration will not spare the whip to force the parties into line.

The US president and his top advisers are convinced that the Palestinian problem is the main obstacle to accommodations for Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and Iran. Defense secretary Robert Gates and national security adviser Gen. James Jones are the leading advocates of this proposition, with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton more skeptical but ready to back the president's Middle East determination to place Israel in the first line of fire.

Some of DEBKAfile's US sources admit that President Obama is himself under pressure because, despite the high approval rating he gained for his first 100 days in office, his myriad policy initiatives have yet to show results.

His economic remedies have steadied the banking system but not yet filtered down to the general public, he faces a hard slog in Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan before making headway, and Tehran is playing hardball at every turn on the road to dialogue.

The only arena where the White House can hope for quick results is the Israel-Palestinian-Syrian track.

The two peace conferences in preparation recall Bill Clinton's success in forcing the Serbs, Bosnians and Croats to sign the Dayton Accord of 1995, so terminating a war of three-and-a-half years.

The presidential envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Richard Holbrooke, was the architect of Dayton. George Mitchell, Obama's Middle East envoy, is in line for a similar role today. During his two rounds of talks in Middle East capitals, Mitchell has shown a smiling, genial face, but said little, while in Washington, a State Department team is working overtime on a new American "road map."

It starts out with pressure on Israel to freeze settlement activity on the West Bank and construction in East Jerusalem. At a later stage, Israel would be pushed to abandon large sections of the West Bank, remove authorized communities as well as unauthorized outposts and hand over the historic nucleus of Jerusalem.

Finally, the Israeli government would be required to accept an independent Palestinian state, even if its government is dominated by the rejectionist terrorist group Hamas.

Peres and Netanyahu will find administration officials deaf not only on Israel's arguments on the Palestinian issue but on a nuclear-armed Iran too. They will see the US president no longer prioritizing the suspension of Iran's nuclear aspirations, but bent on establishing a new Persian Gulf order that formalizes Iran's rising power. Washington's objective now is negotiations for setting the boundaries of Iran's Middle East expansion and limits for its nuclear program.

Israel will have no say in this process. In fact, by elevating Iran to premier regional power, America is sidelining its longstanding friends, Israel and Egypt, and setting aside their security and strategic interests for the sake of deals with Iran.

Dennis Ross, US envoy for Iran, carried this message to the capitals of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf, last week.

But Obama's new Middle East design is not without powerful opponents:

    1. Tehran itself will not let Washington dictate the limits of its expanding influence but insists on dialogue taking place amid "equality and mutual respect." This attitude also governs its nuclear aspirations. US diplomats will have to make the running to temper the ayatollahs rather than the other way round.

    2. Cairo and Riyadh will resist with all their might the US bid to anoint Iran the crowning Middle East-Gulf power. Both perceive Iran's nuclearization as the inevitable outcome of this policy.

They are also extremely concerned by Oabana's public endorsement of Turkey as the senior Muslim power in the Eastern Mediterranean and Central Asia, a boost for Ankara's aspirations to resuscitate the Ottoman Empire.

    3. Jerusalem will resist being cast into a peripheral role in the strategic and military processes going forward with regard to Iran, the Palestinians, Syria and their terrorist arms, Hizballah and Hamas, all of which bear pivotally on Israel's future existence. Like Egypt and Saudi Arabia, the Netanyahu government may not accept being crushed between two hostile regional powers, Iran and Turkey, whose aggressive pretensions Washington is promoting.

    - Netanyahu is marshalling all Israel's resources, including an active role for President Peres, to avoid dropping into the role of second- or third-rate Middle East power whom no one consults.

Peres, whose rich diplomatic experience and international reputation make him a prime asset, has been pressed into service to become the first Israeli president to step out of his ceremonial role into active-policy-making.

    - The Israeli prime minister will also take advantage of the interests Jerusalem shares with Cairo and Riyadh in frustrating the new Washington orientation – and not only with regard to Iran.

Netanyahu and Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak have arranged to put their heads together and are meeting before their separate trips to Washington.

    - Israel has not abandoned its option of a military strike against Iran's nuclear installations and its economic infrastructure. US officials, led by the defense secretary, are accordingly pouring contempt on the extent of the damage Israel is capable of inflicting. Next, they will try and tie Israel's hands by discrediting Netanyahu and his administration.

    - A final arrow in Netanyahu's quiver is the ability to enlist American public opinion, which is traditionally supportive and sympathetic to Israel, against Obama's Grand Middle East Design. He will seek to canvass support among friends in the US Congress and the Jewish community.

    Dear Constance,

You mentioned a 1100-page plus book to demonstrate the above. I have read a 320-page book that conclusively proves this, and more. It is "Eurabia -- the Euro-Arab Axis," by Bat Ye'or."

    http://tinyurl.com/cp3x78

    Here is the Amazon summary:
This provocative and disturbing book is about the transformation of Europe into "Eurabia," a cultural and political appendage of the Arab/Muslim world. Eurabia is fundamentally anti-Christian, anti-Western, anti-American, and antisemitic, while striving for Israel's disappearance and the vilification and isolation of America. The institution responsible for this transformation, and that continues to propagate its ideological message, is the Euro-Arab Dialogue, developed by European and Arab politicians and intellectuals over the past thirty years. With all the drama of a master writer, Bat Ye'or presents a wide range of historical and contemporary documents and facts to tell the story of how the European Union is being subverted by Islamic hostility to the very ethics and values of Europe itself. Readers who seek a fair resolution of the Arab-Israel conflict will be shocked by the evidence produced in these pages of unfair pressures and deliberate distortions. Europe's independence of spirit is shown in the process of being undermined. This book challenges the current demonization of Israel and should be essential reading for everyone interested in true peace in the Middle East.

IMHO the coming Muslim domination of Europe (Asia and much of North and South America) should make us reevaluate our consideration of New Age thinking as our greatest danger.

The book ccontains a fascinating chapter, "The Islamization of Christianity" which turns upside down everything normative Christians believe and yet is seducing many Christians in Europe and the ME. This problem dwarfs the spat between Joyce and me.

    Have a great week.

Julie wrote that the UN Commission the US now hopes to join would, among other things, dictate that "Children would have the ability to choose their own religion while parents would only have the authority to give their children advice about religion. "

This is not all. Earlier, the UN GA passed a "nonbinding" resolution that would make it a crime to defame religion but this is defined only as Islam. It would not be a crime to defame Christianity or Judaism. Here are signiificant paragraphs of an article that describes the effort:

United Nations forbids defaming religion, specifically Islam

    By Nat Hentoff

[o]n Dec. 18, --- the U.N. General Assembly [passed] a nonbinding resolution (with strong advice to its members) that condemns "defamation of religion," especially Islam.

In a 83-to-53 vote, with 42 abstentions, the U.N. General Assembly urges nations to provide "adequate protections" in their laws or constitutions against "acts of hatred, discrimination, intimidation and coercion resulting from defamation of religions and incitement to religious hatred in general."

Only Islam and Muslims are specifically named in this resolution against religious defamation sponsored by Uganda — on behalf of the 57-member Organization of the Islamic Conference — with co-sponsors Belarus and Venezuela. In the opposition were the United States, a majority of European countries, Japan, India and a number of other nations.

  41. Note that two pages of the chapter, "The Islamizaation of Christianity" have been omitted.

I must note a couple of things that Bat Ye'or failed to note in the chapter:

It says that Muslims accuse Jews of crucifying Jesus. However, the Qur'aqn denies that the Jews killed Jesus. Here is is:

(4: 157) and their boast, "Behold, we have slain the Christ Jesus, son of Mary, [who claimed to be] an apostle of God!" However, they did not slay him, and neither did they crucify him, but it only seemed to them [as if it had been] so;**** and, verily, those who hold conflicting views thereon are indeed confused, having no [real] knowledge thereof, and following mere conjecture. For, of a certainty, they did not slay him: (4: 158) nay, God exalted him unto Himself***** - and God is indeed almighty, wise.

    http://tinyurl.com/dxkvk3

Secondly, the Qu'ran denies both the Trinity and that Jesus is the son of God.

4: 171 O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs,* and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him.** Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God.

It also orders Muslims not to befriend Jews or Christians:

(5:51) O YOU who have attained to faith! Do not take the Jews and the Christians for your allies: they are but allies of one another and whoever of you allies
himself with them becomes, verily, one of them; behold, God does not guide such evildoers."

Ahmadinejad Set to Visit Brazil as Iran Increases Influence in Latin, South America

The Islamic Republic of Iran is making major economic and military investments in Latin and South American countries, capitalizing on anti-American and anti-imperialist sentiments of the many local, leftist governments. As part of this push, on May 6 Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is scheduled to travel to Brazil to beef up bilateral ties. [1]

Iran’s new allies in the region include Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and Bolivian President Evo Morales. Over the past few years, Iran has also developed new political ties with Brazil, Cuba, Ecuador, Paraguay and Uruguay. [2]

The alliances among Iran, Venezuela, and Bolivia are of particular concern because they account for almost 10 percent of global oil production, [3] giving them a substantial bargaining position in the negotiation of global oil prices. In November 2007, Chavez threatened to raise the price of oil to $200 per barrel if the United States threatened to attack Iran or Venezuela. [4] Chavez expelled the U.S. ambassador in September 2008 and Morales declared America’s ambassador to Bolivia “persona non grata.” [5]

Iran’s substantial political and economic outreach to Latin and South America permits terrorist groups such as Iran-backed Hezbollah and Hamas to establish an increasing regional presence. Iran funds both terrorist groups, giving $200 million to Hezbollah and $20 million - $30 million to Hamas annually. [6] More than 3,000 Hezbollah operatives have also trained in Iran. [7]

    Iranian-backed Terrorism on the Rise

    • Since 2002, the Shiite Lebanese Iran-backed terrorist group Hezbollah has become visibly active in Latin America. [8]

    • Since the 1990s, Hezbollah has operated in Argentina with Iran’s help. In October 2006, Argentine prosecutors accused Hezbollah of the 1994 Buenos Aires AMIA Jewish center bombing, in which 85 people died and 300 were wounded. Argentina accused Iran of instructing Hezbollah to perpetrate the crime [9] and seven top Iranian diplomats were charged, including former Iranian President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani. [10] In February 2008, a U.S. judge ruled that Hezbollah and Iran were responsible for the 1992 Israeli Embassy bombing in Buenos Aires, which killed 29 people and wounded more than 242. [11]

    • Iran-backed Hezbollah currently maintains a regional base in Venezuela from which it mobilizes terrorists and distributes material.[12] Bases are operational in the lawless tri-border region between Paraguay, Brazil, and Argentina. Hezbollah and other Islamic terrorist groups use several Web sites for recruitment and to indoctrinate others with their extreme Islamic views.[13]

    • South and Latin America have also become major bases for terrorist fundraising. The Hezbollah operation in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay “funnels large sums of money to militia leaders in the Middle East and finances training camps, propaganda operations and bomb attacks in South America.” [14] According to estimates by the U.S. Southern Command, Hezbollah raises $300 million -$500 million a year in Latin America. [15]

    • Hezbollah raises millions of dollars in South America by selling pirated DVDs, according to the Rand Corporation, a U.S. public policy think-tank. The recent study stresses that the tri-border area of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay “has emerged as the most important financing center for Islamic terrorism outside of the Middle East.” [17]

2010 will be the year of the inconvenient truth for this blog because nothing will happen in 2010 that indicates we are in the middle of the 7 yr tribulation.

May our faith be built on the Lord Jesus Christ and not spurious interpretation of the end times.

  47. Len,

There is a "harmonic convergence" between the Muslim developments and the New Age and that is SUFISM. Javier Solana's mother/cousin (depending on which family version he has generated or is presently propagating one accepts) was involved with Sufism from her earliest days as was Salvador de Madariaga, Solana's grandfather/great uncle (also depending on which of the versions Solana himself has put forth one accepts).

The clear strategy of the New Agers has been to incite and pit the fundamentalists/traditionalists of the world religions against each other so that they will mutually attack and destroy each other and then they, the New Agers/Sufis/ and their aligned "Free Thinkers" will be the Phoenix to arise from our mutual ashes and rebuild the world in their hoped for image.

This strategy is clearly delineated in books such as Alice Bailey's THE RAYS AND THE INITIATIONS (see appendix), THE ARMAGEDDON SCRIPT by Peter LeMesurier; Benjamin Creme's books, Peter Lorie, etc., ad nauseum.

Richard Gilman, a Jewish friend and intense researcher from Ann Arbor has done many years of research on Sufism and first brought it to my attention in the 1980s.

The investments Iran is making in Latin American countries is all the more chilling given Ahmadinejad's pro-Nazi sentiments.

Many people are not aware that before 1935, Iran was known as "Persia."

By decree, a pro-Nazi Shah, Reza Shah Pahlavi re-named Persia "Iran" - a word which, when loosely translated, means "land of the Aryans."

On 21 March 1935, the ruler of the country, Reza Shah Pahlavi, issued a decree asking foreign delegates to use the term "Iran" in formal correspondence.

Members of the Persian intelligentsia were not happy with this decree, seeing a pro-Nazi motive behind it. After Dr. Hjalmar Schacht, the Nazi Economics minister, commented on the Aryan origin of Persians, Reza Shah's ambassador in Germany encouraged him to issue the above-mentioned decree, asking all foreign delegates to use the word "Iran" as used by Iranians inside the Iran (meaning "Land of the Aryans") instead of "Persia" in formal correspondence.

As the New York Times explained at the time,

"At the suggestion of the Persian Legation in Berlin, the Tehran government, on the Persian New Year, March 21, 1935, substituted Iran for Persia as the official name of the country. In its decision it was influenced by the Nazi revival of interest in the various Aryan races, cradled in ancient Persia. As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs set forth in its memorandum on the subject, 'Perse', the French designation of Persia, connoted the weakness and tottering independence of the country in the nineteenth century, when it was the chessboard of European imperialistic rivalry. 'Iran', by contrast, conjured up memories of the vigour and splendour of its historic past."

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has shot to the forefront of Holocaust denial with his rabble-rousing remarks last month. But it's more like self-denial. The president of Iran need only look to his country's Hitler-era past to discover that Iran and Iranians were strongly connected to the Holocaust and the Hitler regime, as was the entire Islamic world under the leadership of the mufti of Jerusalem.

Iran's axis with the Third Reich began during the prewar years, when it welcomed Nazi Gestapo agents and other operatives to Tehran, allowing them to use the city as a base for Middle East agitation against the British and the region's Jews.

Key among these German agents was Fritz Grobba, Berlin's envoy to the Middle East, who was often called "the German Lawrence," because he promised a Pan-Islamic state stretching from Casablanca to Tehran.
Relations between Berlin and Tehran were strong from the moment Hitler came to power in 1933. At that time, Reza Shah Pahlavi's nation was known as Persia. The shah became a stalwart admirer of Hitler, Nazism and the concept of the Aryan master race. He also sought the Reich's help in reducing British petro-political domination.

So intense was the shah's identification with the Third Reich that in 1935 he renamed his ancient country "Iran," which in Farsi means Aryan and refers to the Proto-Indo-European lineage that Nazi racial theorists and Persian ethnologists cherished.

The idea for the name change was suggested by the Iranian ambassador to Germany, who came under the influence of Hitler's trusted banker, Hjalmar Schacht. From that point, all Iranians were constantly reminded that their country shared a common bond with the Nazi regime.
Shortly after World War II broke out in 1939, the Mufti of Jerusalem crafted a strategic alliance with Hitler to exchange Iraqi oil for active Arab and Islamic participation in the murder of Jews in the Mideast and Eastern Europe. This was predicated on support for a pan-Arab state and Arab control over Palestine.

NEO-NAZIS SEEK IRANIAN BACKING FOR BIZARRE MISSION

A band of neo-Nazis with ties to Iran's clerical fascist mullahocracy is believed to be seeking its support for a truly bizarre scheme--an archeological expedition in search of ancient lost cities in a remote region of Brazil. The neo-Nazis are said to claim that the area, in the state of Matto Grasso, was once home to an advanced "Aryan" race.

Their venture illuminates Nazism's occult roots--and neo-Nazi links to a present-day regime that many rightwing radicals increasingly regard as a center and symbol of anti-Western struggle.

The proposed expedition also serves as a disturbing reminder of the violent legacy and dangerous appeal of a tangled collection of quasi-spiritual and pseudo-academic theories and beliefs...

NEO-NAZIS SEEK IRANIAN BACKING FOR BIZARRE MISSION

    In the article we read:

Her (Blavatsky's) ideas influenced, among others, Savitri Devi (born Maximiani Portas), a French woman who emigrated to India during he 1930s, where she blended a philosophy of white supremacy and Hinduism and became a fanatic Hitler admirer, living out the war years in anticipation of a Nazi victory. In the 1960s, she emerged as a cult figure for neo-Nazis--"Hitler's guru," in the words of the German-Canadian Holocaust-denying publisher Ernest Zundel. Zundel, who republished and distributed Devi's out-of-print, 1958 book, "The Lightning and the Sun," is involved in the neo-Nazi-Iranian axis, which is itself the brainchild of an aging Nazi convert to Islam, the mysterious Swiss banker and ex-journalist, Ahmed Huber.

A quest for Shambhala (Agarta) led Blavatsky to South America. She claimed to have partially explored the secret, subterranean tunnels connecting the continent with Asia by entering the passages in Peru and Brazil. The story has become a staple of neo-Nazi Internet sites and books about so-called ancient mysteries, including works produced and published by Zundel and allegedly financed by Huber, whose home boasts portraits of Hitler and Iran's Ayatollah Khomeini.

AP- WASHINGTON D.C. - In a move certain to fuel the debate over Obama’s qualifications for the presidency, the group “Americans for Freedom of Information” has released copies of President Obama’s college transcripts from Occidental College.

Released today, the transcript indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate at the school. The transcript was released by Occidental College in compliance with a court order in a suit brought by the group in the Superior Court of California. The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program. To qualify, for the scholarship, a student must claim foreign citizenship. This document would seem to provide the smoking gun that many of Obama’s detractors have been seeking.

The news has created a firestorm at the White House as the release casts increasing doubt about Obama’s legitimacy and qualification to serve as president.

When reached for comment in London, where he has been in meetings with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Obama smiled but refused comment on the issue. Meanwhile, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs scoffed at the report stating that this was obviously another attempt by a right-wing conservative group to discredit the president and undermine the administration’s efforts to move the country in a new direction.

    Dear Susanna,

You are right about the Mufti who was the major antisemitic, anti-Israel, organizer from the time of his appointment by Britain in 1920 till his death shortly after WW2.

He met with Hitler to plead with him to conduct the Holocaust to prevent Jews from leaving for Palestine. He also bit the British hand that fed and sustained him when he turned against Britain during the war.

But probably his greatest "achievement" was murdering scores of Arabs; anyone who showed signs of moderation and a desire for peace with Israel. He set the example folloowed to this day by his successors.

Being antisemitic/anti-Zionist is the lynch pin of the common ground between the extreme left and extreme right. They disagree about everything except Israel. Liberal Jews like J-Street and "Rabbi" Michael Lerner's "Jewish Renewal" movement are their capo servants.

Thank God for the Christian Zionist mnovement.

I once read Arthur Schlesinger's "The Vital Center" about the alliance between left and right. In those days the Democrats were the center and I was one of them.

Today the Democratic Party is part of the Left, the center has shifted right and is in retreat from Left, Right and Islam. Other than this nothing has changed.

I am reminded of Yeats poem "The Second Coming." As a Jewish Jew I of course don't agree with his second stanza but the first is right on the money:

TURNING and turning in the widening gyre
    The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity.

    Peace and blessing,

As the U.S. Retreats, Iran Fills the Void

    Wall St. Journal Opinion »
    By AMIR TAHERI
    5/4/2009

Convinced that the Obama administration is preparing to retreat from the Middle East, Iran's Khomeinist regime is intensifying its goal of regional domination. It has targeted six close allies of the U.S.: Egypt, Lebanon, Bahrain, Morocco, Kuwait and Jordan, all of which are experiencing economic and/or political crises.

Iranian strategists believe that Egypt is heading for a major crisis once President Hosni Mubarak, 81, departs from the political scene. He has failed to impose his eldest son Gamal as successor, while the military-security establishment, which traditionally chooses the president, is divided. Iran's official Islamic News Agency has been conducting a campaign on that theme for months. This has triggered a counter-campaign against Iran by the Egyptian media.

Last month, Egypt announced it had crushed a major Iranian plot and arrested 68 people. According to Egyptian media, four are members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), Tehran's principal vehicle for exporting its revolution.

Seven were Palestinians linked to the radical Islamist movement Hamas; one was a Lebanese identified as "a political agent from Hezbollah" by the Egyptian Interior Ministry. Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Lebanese Hezbollah, claimed these men were shipping arms to Hamas in Gaza.

The arrests reportedly took place last December, during a crackdown against groups trying to convert Egyptians to Shiism. The Egyptian Interior Ministry claims this proselytizing has been going on for years. Thirty years ago, Egyptian Shiites numbered a few hundred. Various estimates put the number now at close to a million, but they are said to practice taqiyah (dissimulation), to hide their new faith.

But in its campaign for regional hegemony, Tehran expects Lebanon as its first prize. Iran is spending massive amounts of cash on June's general election. It supports a coalition led by Hezbollah, and including the Christian ex-general Michel Aoun. Lebanon, now in the column of pro-U.S. countries, would shift to the pro-Iran column.

In Bahrain, Tehran hopes to see its allies sweep to power through mass demonstrations and terrorist operations. Bahrain's ruling clan has arrested scores of pro-Iran militants but appears more vulnerable than ever. King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa has contacted Arab heads of states to appeal for "urgent support in the face of naked threats," according to the Bahraini media.

The threats became sensationally public in March. In a speech at Masshad, Iran's principal "holy city," Ali Akbar Nateq-Nuri, a senior aide to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, described Bahrain as "part of Iran." Morocco used the ensuing uproar as an excuse to severe diplomatic relations with Tehran. The rupture came after months of tension during which Moroccan security dismantled a network of pro-Iran militants allegedly plotting violent operations.

Iran-controlled groups have also been uncovered in Kuwait and Jordan. According to Kuwaiti media, more than 1,000 alleged Iranian agents were arrested and shipped back home last winter. According to the Tehran media, Kuwait is believed vulnerable because of chronic parliamentary disputes that have led to governmental paralysis.

As for Jordan, Iranian strategists believe the kingdom, where Palestinians are two-thirds of the population, is a colonial creation and should disappear from the map -- opening the way for a single state covering the whole of Palestine. Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad have both described the division of Palestine as "a crime and a tragedy."

Arab states are especially concerned because Tehran has succeeded in transcending sectarian and ideological divides to create a coalition that includes Sunni movements such as Hamas, the Islamic Jihad, sections of the Muslim Brotherhood, and even Marxist-Leninist and other leftist outfits that share Iran's anti-Americanism.

Information published by Egyptian and other Arab intelligence services, and reported in the Egyptian and other Arab media, reveal a sophisticated Iranian strategy operating at various levels. The outer circle consists of a number of commercial companies, banks and businesses active in various fields and employing thousands of locals in each targeted country. In Egypt, for example, police have uncovered more than 30 such Iranian "front" companies, according to the pan-Arab daily newspaper Asharq Alawsat. In Syria and Lebanon, the numbers reportedly run into hundreds.

In the next circle, Iranian-financed charities offer a range of social and medical services and scholarships that governments often fail to provide. Another circle consists of "cultural" centers often called Ahl e Beit (People of the House) supervised by the offices of the supreme leader. These centers offer language classes in Persian, English and Arabic, Islamic theology, Koranic commentaries, and traditional philosophy -- alongside courses in information technology, media studies, photography and filmmaking.

Wherever possible, the fourth circle is represented by branches of Hezbollah operating openly. Where that's not possible, clandestine organizations do the job, either alone or in conjunction with Sunni radical groups.

The Khomeinist public diplomacy network includes a half-dozen satellite television and radio networks in several languages, more than 100 newspapers and magazines, a dozen publishing houses, and thousands of Web sites and blogs controlled by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The network controls thousands of mosques throughout the region where preachers from Iran, or trained by Iranians, disseminate the Khomeinist revolutionary message.

Tehran has also created a vast network of non-Shiite fellow travelers within the region's political and cultural elites. These politicians and intellectuals may be hostile to Khomeinism on ideological grounds -- but they regard it as a powerful ally in a common struggle against the American "Great Satan."

Khomeinist propaganda is trying to portray Iran as a rising "superpower" in the making while the United States is presented as the "sunset" power. The message is simple: The Americans are going, and we are coming.

Tehran plays a patient game. Wherever possible, it is determined to pursue its goals through open political means, including elections. With pro-American and other democratic groups disheartened by the perceived weakness of the Obama administration, Tehran hopes its allies will win all the elections planned for this year in Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon and the Palestinian territories.

"There is this perception that the new U.S. administration is not interested in the democratization strategy," a senior Lebanese political leader told me. That perception only grows as President Obama calls for an "exit strategy" from Afghanistan and Iraq. Power abhors a vacuum, which the Islamic Republic of Iran is only too happy to fill.

THIRTY YEARS AGO this month, the collapse of the Shah's government marked the launch of Iran's Islamic Revolution, and since that point the topic of Islam has rarely been out of the headlines. All too often, we hear about Islam in the context of intolerance and, often, violence -- of Al Qaeda savagery, of Taliban misogyny, of nuclear weapons in Pakistan and perhaps in Iran itself. Even in Europe, many fear the growth of a radical Islamic presence. For three decades, Western observers have worked fervently to comprehend Islam's global power and appeal, its ability to inspire the poor and to topple governments. But in all that intense attention, most observers have missed a crucial part of the story: a global web of devout religious brotherhoods that by all logic should be a critical ally against extremism.
Sufis are the power that has made Islam the world's second-largest religion, with perhaps 1.2 billion adherents. Not a sect of Islam, but rather heirs of an ancient mystical tradition within both the Sunni and Shia branches of the faith, Sufis have through the centuries combined their inward quest with the defense and expansion of Islam worldwide. At once mystics and elite soldiers, dervishes and preachers, charismatic wonder-workers and power-brokers, ascetic Sufis have always been in the vanguard of Islam. While pushing forward the physical borders of Islam, they have been essential to the spiritual and cultural fullness of the faith. Today, the Sufi tradition is deeply threaded through the power structures of many Muslim countries, and the orders are enjoying a worldwide renaissance.
To look at Islam without seeing the Sufis is to miss the heart of the matter. Without taking account of the Sufis, we cannot understand the origins of most contemporary political currents in the Middle East and Muslim South Asia, and of many influential political parties. We can't comprehend the huge popular appeal of Islam for
women, who so often seem excluded from Muslim life. Sufis are central to the ability of Muslim communities to survive savage persecutions -- in Chechnya, in Kosovo -- and then launch devastating insurgencies. They are the muscle and sinew of the faith.
And, however startling this may seem, these very Sufis -- these dedicated defenders and evangelists of mystical Islam -- are potentially vital allies for the nations of the West. Many observers see a stark confrontation between the West and Islam, a global conflict that entered a traumatic new phase with the Iranian revolution. But that perspective ignores basic conflicts within the Muslim world itself, a global clash of values over the nature of religious practice, no less than overtly political issues. For the Islamists -- for hard-line fundamentalists like the Saudi Wahhabis and the Taliban -- the Sufis are deadly enemies, who draw on practices alien to the Quran. Where Islamists rise to power, Sufis are persecuted or driven underground; but where Sufis remain in the ascendant, it is the radical Islamist groups who must fight to survive.
Around the world, the Sufis are struggling against violent fundamentalists who are at once their deadly foes, and ours. To look at Islam without seeing the Sufis is to be ignorant of a crucial clash of civilizations in today's world: not the conflict between Islam and the West, but an epochal struggle within Islam itself.
If the word "Sufi" conjures up any images for Americans, they normally involve mystical poetry or dance. Thirteenth century poet Rumi was a legendary Sufi, as are Turkey's whirling dervishes. But these are just the most visible expressions of a movement that runs deeply through the last thousand years of Islam.
Emerging around the year 800, they were originally pious devotees, whose poor woolen clothes showed their humility: "Sufi" comes from the Arabic word for wool. Above all, the Sufis sought the divine reality or ultimate truth that stands above all the illusions and deceptions of the material world. In order to achieve ecstatic union with God, they incorporated techniques of sound and movement -- chanting and music, swaying and dance. Believers joined in tight-knit brotherhoods or tariqahs, each following a charismatic leader (shaykh). Among the dozens of these orders, a few grew to achieve special influence, and some operate in dozens of nations, including the United States.
But the orders are more than confraternities of pious devotees. Early in their history, Sufis developed a powerful military streak, making them the knights of Islam, as well as the monks and mystics. Like the Japanese samurai, the brotherhoods trained their followers to amazing feats of devotion and overcoming pain. Fanatical dervish warriors were the special forces of every Islamic army from the 13th century through the end of the 19th.
The expansion of Islam outside the core areas of the Middle East is above all a Sufi story. Sufi orders led the armies that conquered lands in Central and South Asia, and in Southeastern Europe; through their piety and their mysticism, the brotherhoods then won the local populations over to Islam. They presented an Islam that incorporated local traditions and worship styles, including Christian saints and Hindu gods. Today, Sufi styles and practices dominate in the non-Arab Muslim world: in India and Pakistan, in Indonesia and Malaysia, Nigeria and Senegal, and in the Muslim countries of Central Asia, such as Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
Over the centuries, the territories where Sufi orders seeded Islam have evolved from the faith's frontiers to its demographic heartlands. These regions now encompass Islam's largest and fastest-growing populations. Of the eight nations with the world's largest Muslim communities, only one (Egypt) is Arab. A fifth of the world's Muslims today identify with Sufism, and for many millions more, Sufism is simply part of the air they breathe.
The Sufi orders enhanced their political role as Western empires encroached. When Islam was under threat, the Sufis were the trained soldiers, and their close-knit brotherhoods allowed them to form devastatingly effective resistance movements. Sufi orders led anti-colonial movements from Morocco to Indonesia. Most Americans, for instance, have heard of the stubborn Chechen guerrillas, but few realize how absolutely this movement is rooted in Sufism. When the Russians pushed south into Muslim lands in the 19th century, the heroic Sufi sheikh Imam Shamil launched a decades-long guerrilla war. Even Stalin's terror campaigns could not root out the Sufi brotherhoods. The fearsome leader of modern-day Chechen resistance, Shamil Basayev, was named for the original imam.
A similar story can be told of other oppressed peoples, in Kurdistan, Kashmir, Albania, Kosovo, and elsewhere, who owed their solidarity and cohesion to the immense power of the Sufi brotherhoods.
The Sufis might sound like America's worst nightmare. Not only do they ground political activism in religion, but their faith spreads through intense and secretive brotherhoods, led by charismatic masters: this recalls every sinister stereotype of Muslim fanaticism that potboiler thrillers have offered us over the decades. But it would be a terrible mistake to see the Sufis as enemies. Sufis certainly have fought Western forces through the years, and Sufi-founded movements have on occasion engaged in terrorist actions -- witness the Chechens. But in the vast majority of cases, such militancy has been essentially defensive, resisting brutal colonial occupations. This is very different from the aggressive global confrontation pursued by groups such as Al Qaeda.
Today, moreover, Sufi brotherhoods face a deadly danger from the strict puritanical or fundamentalist Islam represented by Qaeda and similar movements, which are as threatening to the Sufi brotherhoods as they are to the West. To the extent that we, like the Sufis, face a real danger from violent jihadi fundamentalism, our interests are closely aligned with those of the Sufis.
But the Sufis are much more than tactical allies for the West: they are, potentially, the greatest hope for pluralism and democracy within Muslim nations. The Sufi religious outlook has little of the uncompromising intolerance that characterizes the fundamentalists. They have no fear of music, poetry, and other artistic forms -- these are central to their sense of the faith's beauty -- and the brotherhoods cherish intellectual exploration. Progressive Sufi thinkers are quite open to modern knowledge and science.
From their beginnings, too, Sufi traditions have been religiously inclusive. Wherever the orders flourish, popular Islamic religion focuses on the tombs of saints and sheikhs, who believers venerate with song and ritual dance. In fact, they behave much like traditional-minded Catholics do when they visit their own shrines in Mexico or southern Italy. People organize processions, they seek healing miracles, and women are welcome among the crowds. While proudly Islamic, Sufi believers have always been in dialogue with other great religions.
This open-mindedness contrasts with the much harsher views of the fundamentalists, who we know by various names. Salafism claims to teach a return to the pure religion taught by the prophet Muhammad in the seventh century, and in that early Islamic community Salafis think they can find all they need to know about life and law. The most powerful and best-known version of this back-to-basics ideology is the Wahhabi movement that emerged in the 18th century, and which in modern times has built a worldwide presence on the strength of Saudi oil money. At its most extreme, this exclusive tradition rejects knowledge that is not clearly rooted in the Quran and Islamic legal thought, and regards other religions and cultures as dangerous rivals lacking any redeeming virtues. Al Qaeda and its affiliates represent an extreme and savage manifestation of this fundamentalist current.
As fundamentalist Islam spreads around the world, Sufism is one of its targets, even in such strongholds as Indonesia, Pakistan, and Nigeria. Often this comes in the form of ideological struggle, but open violence has broken out as well. Sudan's Islamist government attacks the black Sufi population of Darfur; in Iraq, suicide bombers target Sufi centers. Sufis have literally everything to lose from the continued advance of the Islamist extremists.
But Sufis are anything but passive victims, and in their resilience lies their true importance to the West. In many nations, Sufi brotherhoods exercise influence within local regimes, and those alliances allow them to drive back radicalism. Sufi brotherhoods have emerged as critical supporters of government in several post-Communist regimes, including in former Yugoslav regions like Kosovo and Bosnia, and in Albania. When a Qaeda-affiliated Islamist movement arose in Uzbekistan, the government's intimate alliance with the Sufi orders allowed it to destroy the insurgents quite thoroughly. Syria cultivates tolerant-minded Sufi orders as the best means of fending off Islamist subversion. For similar reasons, even the Chinese government openly favors Sufism. Hard as they try, fundamentalist radicals find it impossible to gain much of a foothold in societies where Islam is synonymous with Sufism, and where Sufi loyalty is deeply tied to cultural and national identity.
In 2007, the influential RAND Corporation issued a major report titled "Building Moderate Muslim Networks," which urged the US government to form links with Muslim groups that opposed Islamist extremism. The report stressed the Sufi role as moderate traditionalists open to change, and thus as potential allies against violence.
Some Western nations are just now grasping the rich rewards that would come from an alliance with the Sufi, with Muslim forces who can claim such impeccable historical and religious credentials. The British government especially has befriended the Sufi orders, and has made groups like the British Muslim Forum and the Sufi Muslim Council its main conversation partners in the Muslim community.
Sufis, better than anyone, can tell disaffected young Muslims that the quest for peace is not a surrender to Western oppression, still less a betrayal of Islam, but rather a return to the faith's deepest roots. And while Sufis have religious reasons for favoring peaceful and orderly societies, they also stand to benefit mightily from government support in their struggle against the fanatics. As the fundamentalists have expanded, they press hard on Muslim populations who are overwhelmingly drawn from countries where the Sufi current has always dominated Islamic life, from Pakistan, Turkey, and North Africa.
If this British model works, it would encourage the growth of a Euro-Islam that could reconcile easily with modernity and democracy, while yielding nothing of its religious content.
Nobody is pretending that building bridges with Sufis will resolve the many problems that divide the West from the Islamic world. In countries like Afghanistan or Somalia, warfare and violence might be so deeply engraved into the culture that they can never be expunged. Yet in so many lands, reviving Sufi traditions provide an effective bastion against terrorism, much stronger than anything the West could supply by military means alone. The West's best hope for global peace is not a decline or secularization of Islam, but rather a renewal and strengthening of that faith, and above all of its spiritual and mystical dimensions.

I’m quite angry, so if that isn’t for you, you might just want to skip this post, but here it goes!
If you have ever struggled with "Love your enemy" and those who would use that verse as an excuse to lay down and surrender our culture, our homes, and anything like Constitutional rights, as well as common sense self defense, that is what Michael Hoffman seems to be advocating, but it seems, to me, that his advise is for high minded Christian only to be applied to Israel. This is a coward's way of being anti Israel; if God was not protecting Israel it would not be there, and His witnesses are being readied for the great evangelism that is to come; I would not want to be with those who "know not what spirit they are of;” this is not fire from heaven against those who have rejected Christ, but against the whole counsel of the Word of God.
First define Zionism here: Zionism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Now a look at M. Hoffman’s follower Mr. Makow: "When we hear about pig flu, let's keep our focus on the big picture. We are infected by a more serious and widespread cancer, satanism, under the guises of communism, liberalism, socialism, zionism. . ."
Note that the above quote is from the Dan Quayle link that follows.
    http://www.henrymakow.com/luciferian_revolution_reaches.html

    From the same web site:
A true Christian, Hoffman says the way to stop the Hegelian dialectic is to stop fighting. In a timely reference to Zionist colonizers and Palestinian resisters, he writes that both groups of violent combatants "are mutually draining their enemy and themselves of blood, treasure and most damaging of all, their humanity, since this killing entails the dehumanization of the opposing force and the brutalization of one's own...No authentic Christian engages in this pagan, uroboros, victim-into-executioner cycle. Peace pays the greatest dividends. All you live by the sword die by the sword. (Mathew 26:52)." (86)
    http://www.henrymakow.com/michael_hoffmans_judaism_disco.html

“No authentic Christian” can follow Hoffman’s teaching which is more apropos considering he has become a theological architect of the enemies of Israel and of the END TIMES scenario; what will be the plague which God will strike upon all them that come against Jerusalem? Since the know-it-alls know the prophecies of Zach. What will be their justification?
Can you see God telling Joshua, or King David to forget the battles he has orchestrated for them? God is the same yesterday . . ." and I understand "that the true light now shines", but what has happened to every Christian sect that has embraced pacifism? They become anthropocentric. So, even though the land belongs to the Jew he is to forget that God is a God of war as it pertains to the Biblical land, the land which the Jew has been willing to share from the beginning of 1948 and has proved by restraint and gifting to an unrepentant adversary with THEIR own land, but that won't make these "high minded" do-gooders happy until all the Jews are dead or vagabonds cast into the sea of nations. This must also apply to the United States where we should give all of our country to Moslems or Russians, better yet to the Indians, and they will be so kind as to enslave our children and grand children. Not!
This is nothing but straining a gnat and swallowing a camel, but there are well meaning Christians out there encouraging this garbage and I'm not one of them.
Is Israel still in unbelief? Yes! But God is preparing them for repentance. Did Israel forget that they were to be a light to the gentiles? Yes! But the light now shone through Jesus Christ, that is not to diminish the role of governments and their responsibilities to protect their countries; which soldier did Jesus command to cease being a soldier?
There are some in the Church which would have you to believe that there can be no such thing as a saved soldier, they are presumptuous. Then there are those who would ask others, tacidly or otherwise, to die for them,(High Noon might just remind them of the difficult situation they have got themselves in), but scripture says that “we ought also to die for one another.” This New Age thinking is plain enmity against God, it is racism at its core.
It is no wonder that Christians are despised, no wonder that the Church is weak; I wish that those of this ilk would find a cave with a guru who could help them find oneness, because they are two of a kind.

In his 1:07 A.M. post, Len discussed the Amazon summary of the book "Eurabia -- the Euro-Arab Axis," by Bat Ye'or."

Part of Len's post reads thus:

    Here is the Amazon summary:

This provocative and disturbing book is about the transformation of Europe into "Eurabia," a cultural and political appendage of the Arab/Muslim world. Eurabia is fundamentally anti-Christian, anti-Western, anti-American, and antisemitic, while striving for Israel's disappearance and the vilification and isolation of America. The institution responsible for this transformation, and that continues to propagate its ideological message, is the Euro-Arab Dialogue, developed by European and Arab politicians and intellectuals over the past thirty years. With all the drama of a master writer, Bat Ye'or presents a wide range of historical and contemporary documents and facts to tell the story of how the European Union is being subverted by Islamic hostility to the very ethics and values of Europe itself

Here is an interesting article entitled AL-QAEDA'S NEO-NAZI CONNECTIONS by William Grim.

It pretty much corresponds with what Len had to say in his post and includes more details. Pay special attention to "The Third Position" which is not to be confused with "Third Way."

AL-QAEDA'S NEO-NAZI CONNECTIONS by William Grim.

On the surface there would seem to be little to unite the Aryan racialists of the neo-Nazi movement with the terrorists of radical Islam. To the neo-Nazis, Muslims are almost all members of ``inferior`` races; and to the Islamic terrorists, the neo-Nazis are almost without exception either atheists or members of fringe quasi-Christian sects.

But the reality is that there has been close cooperation between Muslim extremists and Fascists ever since the founding of the Nazi movement in the 1920`s. For all of their differences, Muslim extremists and Nazis have always been united by a common group of beliefs and goals: hatred of Judaism (and conventional Christianity), hatred of democracy, and a desire for the destruction of Israel and the United States.

Once again you have provided a gold mine. Could the search for this aryan super race be the true reason so many of the nazi were smuggled to South America?

The Iranian connection also makes a lot of sense in the modern context, as it provides a sort of filter so many don't see the hidden hand moving the players. I echo the gratitude of having you back, as seen here, you provide a invaluable amount of info.

One of the discoveries that I have made and consider to be am important one is the connection between the Institute of Noetic Sciences and certain branches of the Max Planck Society (Max Planck Insitute) which was formerly known as the Kaiser Wilhelm Society in Nazi Germany.

The reason the Kaiser Wilhelm Society changed its name to the Max Planck Society was because of the bad reputation it had acquired on account of its involvement in some of the more infamous Nazi experiments - especially those related to eugenics.

Among those organizations that funded the Kaiser Wilhelm Society was the Rockefeller Foundation.

One of the men who has been involved with both organizations is Hans-Peter Durr (Duerr)

    JD,

Thank you for your warm welcome. As I said, it is good to be back.

    In your post you asked:

Could the search for this aryan super race be the true reason so many of the nazi were smuggled to South America?

This is a very real possibility. We may think it is completely nutso, but given the Nazi Aryan myth, it makes sense in terms of how the Nazis think.

But we must go back a bit in order to understand that before the Nazis thought of going to South America looking for lost "Aryan" civilizations and lost cities that may have been linked to "Atlantis" (part of the Mayanism/Mexican hype)
Madame Helena Petrovna Blavatsky had already thought of it.

Among the places Blavatsky is believed to have visited between 1848 and 1858 are Mexico and South America.

While in Peru, she was told of strange mysterious tunnels that run for miles beneath South America.......

THE MYSTERY OF SOUTH AMERICA'S SUBTERRANEAN TUNNELS
    by Warren Smith

Strange tunnels that run for hundreds of miles beneath South America...

An immense treasure hidden in subterranean vaults...

Underground gardens artistically crafted from gold and precious jewels...

Rumors of golden plaques with strange inscriptions engraved on their shining sides...

These are the ingredients of the great mystery connected to a network of subterranean tunnels allegedly existing beneath the valleys and plateaus of South America. Enigmatic stories about these mysterious tunnels sound like something out of Arabian nights. The riddle goes back to the days of the Spanish conquest. Old chroniclers and cleric writers reported on tunnels and subterranean passages beneath many of the old cities and ancient ruins......

....Recently, Erick von Daniken reported that he'd had been in a network of tunnels that run for thousands of miles beneath the South American continent. Von Daniken said in the Gold of the Gods that he had been in the tunnels, accompanied by their discoverer, Juan Moricz, a Hungarian immigrant who is now a citizen of Argentina. Entrance to the subterranean labyrinth is somewhere in the province of Morona-Santiago, Ecuador. According to von Daniken, he saw immense rooms filled with metallic plaques. They constitute a possible record of the ancient world, according to the Swiss writer.

The first knowledge about these immense underground tunnels came when the Conquistadores invaded ancient South America. The ex-swineherd, Don Francisco Pizzaro, kidnapped the emperor of the Incas and held him for ransom. Don Francisco drew a red line around the prisoner's room, nine feet above the floor of the seventeen by twenty-foot room. The Inca stated he would fill the room with gold in return for his freedom. From his cell in Caxamarco, emperor Atahualapa ordered his subjects to gather up gold for his ransom.....

....The Russian-born mystic and occultist, Madame Helene H.P. Blavatsky, was travelling in Peru in 1848 when she heard rumors of these ancient tunnels. The founder of Theosophy, Madame Blavatsky was always interested in unusual events. After leaving Lima, where she heard about the tunnels, Madame Blavatsky went on to Arica on the frontier between Chile and Peru. She questioned everyone she met about the tunnels. Her report reads:

"We reached Arica, near sunset, and at a certain point on the lonely coast we were struck by the appearance of an enormous rock, nearly perpendicular, which stood in mournful solitude on that shore, and apart from the cordillera of the Andes. As the last rays of the sun strike the face of the rock, one can make out, with an ordinary opera glass, curious hieroglyphics inscribed on the volcanic surface.

"When Cuzco was the capital of old Peru, it contained the Temple of the Sun, famed far and near for its magnificence. It was roofed with thick plates of gold and its walls were covered with the same precious metal. The eaves troughs, carrying off the rainwater, were also made of pure gold. In the west wall, the architects had contrived an aperture, in such a way that, when the sunbeams reached it, it caught and focused them inside the temple's nave and sanctuary. Stretching inside the temple like a golden chain from one sparkling point to another, the rays encircled the walls, illuminating the grim idols, and disclosing certain mystic signs that were at other times invisible."

By interpreting these mystic signs, according to Madame Blavatsky, the location of the tunnels, their entrance and how they might be entered could be discerned. She reported these signs were invisible except on certain days when the sun's rays were focused directly on the inscriptions.

Madame Blavatsky reported the tunnels started at Cuzco and ran underground to Lima, a distance of around 380 miles by air. At Lima the tunnels turn southward into what is now modern Bolivia. This is a distance of some thousand miles! She also reported that within the tunnels is a point where a royal tomb has been constructed. The ancient tomb has been protected by a couple of enormous slabs of stone that form a door. The huge stone door is constructed in such a way that no cracks or joints can be seen. Only by reading certain signs can the secret location of the royal tomb be ascertained.

Exactly where she obtained her information was not mentioned by Madame Blavatsky, However, she mentioned a secret society of custodians who protect the tunnels. This secret society is believed by many investigators to exist today, carefully guarding the treasures of the ancients. However entrance could be obtained to the subterranean labyrinth provided the seeker can interpret symbols carved on rocks and visible only when the sun hits the stone at a certain angle.

Even if an adventurous person were to find the entrance, the tunnels would be extremely dangerous to explore. If the Inca's tomb is flanked by huge stone doors that pivot, there must be a method gaining entrance. The doors may be operated by a hidden mechanism. They might open when a certain word is spoken, reminiscent of the "open sesame" of the Arabian nights.

We can assume that the ancient builders of the tunnels anticipated possible grave robbers. They probably created a deadly trap for unwary ghouls. Madame Blavatsky was told during her South American trip that a thousand soldiers couldn't penetrate into the treasure-laden tomb. Her informant said:

"... A thousand soldiers, were they in the tunnel, would be forevermore one with the dead, did they attempt to force their way into the treasure tomb of the dead Inca. There is no other access to the Arica chamber, but through the hidden door in the mountains near the Rio Payquina. Along the entire length of the main corridor, from Bolivia to Lima and royal Cuzco, are smaller hiding places filled with treasures of gold and gems and jewels, that are the accumulation of many generations of Incas. The aggregate value of the treasures is beyond the power of man to estimate."

Nearly a hundred years ago, Madame Blavatsky claimed to have an accurate map of the tunnels. "We had in our possession an accurate map of the tunnels, the sepulcher, the great treasure chamber and the hidden, pivoted rock doors," she stated. "It was given to us by an old Peruvian; but if we had ever thought of profiting from the secret it would have required the co-operation of the Peruvian and Bolivian governments on an extensive scale. To say nothing of physical obstacles, no one individual or small party could undertake such an exploration without encountering an army of brigands and smugglers with which the coast is infested, and which, in fact, includes nearly the entire population. The mere task of purifying the mephitic air of the tunnel not entered for centuries would also be a serious one. There the treasure lies, and tradition says it will lie until the last vestige of the Spanish rule disappears from the whole of North and South America...."

..."... English Explorer, Colonel Fawcett, disappeared in the jungles several years ago. He was searching for a tunnel entrance into the subterranean world in the Rancador mountains when he vanished. Reports from that part of Brazil indicate that Fawcett and his son, Jack and their companion were living in a cavern city beneath the mountains. They were well treated, according to these reports, but they were not allowed to return to the surface because they might reveal the location of the entrance.

"The entrance to the cavern city is carefully guarded by the Murcego Indians. They are a ferocious, dark-skinned tribe with a highly developed sense of smell. You must obtain their approval before you enter the caverns. However, should they decide you are not worthy to share the secret, you will not be allowed to return to civilization.

"There is a legend in Brazil that the subterranean cities were constructed by the survivors of Atlantis. We don't know if the present inhabitants are the descendants of the Atlanteans, or whether they died and another race wandered into the tunnels and settled in the city."

  79. “This is nothing but straining a gnat and swallowing a camel, but there are well meaning Christians out there encouraging this garbage and I'm not one of them.”

You’ve nailed it Setterman! I read through the Wiki “Zionist” article first. Then the material and follow-up links from Henry Makow’s site.
By all appearances, in spite of, perhaps initially well intentioned motives, many columnists, blog writers and authors are presenting much more deceptive and dangerous commentary these days. We owe it to ourselves to stay informed, yet more often than not, it is becoming more difficult to glean some wheat without contaminating our minds and spirits with the ever present anti-Semitic /anti-Christian/anti-Biblical chaff. And it comes from all corners. Religious, and secular.

Henry Makow is himself - though admittedly, non-practicing - a Jew. He warns of the rise of anti-Semitism throughout the world, then recommends,
“It's time we listened to plainspoken pariahs like Michael Hoffman.” He alerts readers to recent American polls revealing a sharp rise in anti-Semitism; then in his next sentence blames Israel for these developments.
“This corresponds to the progress of the financial crisis. No doubt, Israel's genocidal attack on Gaza has contributed more.”

The more I dug the uglier it became. Now I understand better why Constance warned about Lindsay Williams as well.

NOTE TO ALL: The ONLY reason I am mentioning the One World Nazi Party is with the hope that anyone who examines the material will come away with a clearer understanding and a recognition of the way the same “mission” “platform” and “spirit” that saturates Nazism is now more than ever, manifesting itself through seemingly trusted sources. Important issues such as abortion, immigration policy, human rights, the environment and nationalism, when introduced in a religious, Interreligious, or strictly secular “humanity serving” “peace-promoting” context; often causes participants to overlook a well camouflaged dark underbelly of Nazism. In order to recognize ‘NAZI’ propaganda you must know what it is.

Hi Susanna, Thank you (Len also) for all the additional information and articles and links. After reading
‘Al Qaeda`s Neo-Nazi Connections’ - William Grim article, this section:

“…Simply put, adherents of the ``Third Position`` oppose both communism and capitalism, the latter category subsuming Israel, the United States and all other democratic countries which are believed to be under the control of ``International Jewry.`` To this end, the socialist portion of Nazi beliefs is emphasized (as opposed to Hitler`s reliance on corporatism), but the core belief in anti- Semitism is left unaltered. Like the original Nazis, the Third Positioners are eager to form alliances with Muslim (and black) extremists who share their anti-Semitic beliefs…”

almost references exactly what I read on the OWN (One World Nazi) Party site. I’m not going to quote any of their garbage here, but what I found most alarming is how much of what they are promoting is becoming fairly common dialogue through some of the more popular “nationalistic/patriotic” sounding spokespersons. As I read the section on the Swastika, I saw more than ever before how the “new spirituality” and the occult roots of Nazism
are without a doubt related. I’m curious as to how the info you’ve come across lines up with what is included on this site. It must be a fairly new site because a few sections aren’t complete. –Rudi

    Iran threatens Israel

    Ulrich W. Sahm

Iran announced for the first time a concrete goal for the destruction of Israel. Israeli television aired an interview with the Iranian Chief General Attalah Salihi. He announced the "destruction of Israel within eleven days".

Arabian expert Oded Granot said: "Never before have we had such a clear and open announcement of Iranian intentions. While President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad calls for the destruction of Israel repeatedly with broad policy, there has never been an announcement with such a specific time, as Salihi has made.” Granot does not know why the destruction of Israel will happen in eleven days.

Previously, the U.S. had the idea of "?Besser Bombe als bombardieren?", and made it clear that Washington, under President Barack Obama, would yield to the construction of an Iranian nuclear bomb. High-level Europeans, according to an exclusive report from Israeli television, gave these assessments to the hardly surprised Israelis. For some time, the Israelis have held the conclusion that the Americans question the validity of Israeli intelligence, and are vague about a U.S. preventative attack against Tehran to stop the possible development of an Iranian nuclear bomb. According to Washington, they wish no military action from other countries, such as Israel, against nuclear facilities in Iran.

    ROBERTO FIORE

Roberto Fiore (born April 15, 1959 in Rome) has been a leading neo-fascist in the post-war era, both in Italy and across Europe. He has long been a disciple of Julius Evola and helped to develop the Third Position stance on the far right.

As a leader of Terza Posizione, Fiore (along with other various neo-fascist activists, notably Gabriele Adinolfi and Massimo Morsello) became a wanted man in Italy after the 1980 bombing of Bologna train station which left 85people dead and over 200 wounded.

This status was increased in 1985 when a Rome court declared that TP was simply a cover movement for the Nuclei Armati Rivoluzionari, the terror group blamed on the attack and linked with the Propaganda Due-organisation. He was condemned for association to an armed subversive gang (associazione sovversiva e banda armata).

    NEO-NAZISM

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neo-Nazism

    NEO-FASCISM, THE THIRD POSITION

The U.S. Extreme Right shares three ideological affinities with some Islamic clerical fascist movements such as the Taliban and the al Qaeda networks, and some Black nationalist groups: A hatred of Jews who are seen in the traditional antisemitic caricature of running the world through secret conspiracies.
A hatred of the U.S. government, seen as not just a global bully but also controlled by Jews. U.S. neonazis sometimes refer the administration in Washington, D.C. as the Zionist Occupational Government--ZOG.
A desire to overthrow existing governments and replace then with monocultural nation states built around the idea of supremacist racial nationalism or supremacist religious nationalism or both mixed together. This ethnonationalist philosophy is sometimes called the "Third Position."

    What is the Third Position?

Today there is a new form of fascism, a neofascism, called the Third Position, which seeks to overthrow existing governments and replace them with monocultural nation states built around the idea of supremacist racial nationalism and/or supremacist religious nationalism. Third Position neofascists have organized in the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East, and they maintain some kind of loose network, at least for the purposes of discussing their shared ideas and agenda, but in some cases involving meetings and even funding.

For instance Libyan president of Mu'ammar Qadhafi has sponsored several international conferences in Libya promoting his special variation of racial nationalism and cultivating ideas congruent with Third Position ideology. Qadhafi has also offered funds to racial nationalist groups active in the U.S. and Canada.2
    (http://www.publiceye.org/fascist/third_position-01.html#P20_3627)

During the Gulf War, according to the Searchlight magazine, "Neo-nazis is several European countries have been queuing up to shoulder arms for Saddam Hussein's murderous Iraqi Regime."3
    (http://www.publiceye.org/fascist/third_position-01.html#P21_3906)

One organizer for this attempted neonazi brigade, claimed he had over 500 volunteers from "several countries, including Germany, the USA, the Netherlands, Austria and France."4
    (http://www.publiceye.org/fascist/third_position-01.html#P22_4161)

Revealing the Third Position motif, a racial nationalist journal, Nation und Europa, promoted the slogans "Arabia for the Arabs," and "the whole of Germany for the Germans."5

In Britain, some neofascists praised the regimes in Libya and Iran as allies in the fight against communism, capitalism, and Israel.6
    (http://www.publiceye.org/fascist/third_position-01.html#P24_4494)

The Third Position has a more intellectual aristocratic ally called the European New Right (Nouvelle Droit) which is different from the U.S. New Right.7 (http://www.publiceye.org/fascist/third_position-01.html#P26_4752)

Intellectual leaders of the European New Right, such as Alain de Benoist, are hailed as profound thinkers in U.S. reactionary publications such as the Rockford Institute's Chronicles. The more overtly neo-Nazi segment of the Third Position has intellectual links to the Strasserite wing of German national socialism, and is critical of Hitler's brand of Nazism for having betrayed the working class. See magazines such as Scorpion or Third Way published in England. Third Position groups believe in a racially-homogeneous decentralized tribal form of nationalism, and claim to have evolved an ideology "beyond communism and capitalism."

White supremacist leader Tom Metzger promotes Third Position politics in his newspaper WAR which stands for White Aryan Resistance. In Europe, the Third Position defines its racial-nationalist theories in publications such as Third Way and The Scorpion. Third Position adherents actively seek to recruit from the left. One such group is the American Front in Portland, Oregon, which ran a phone hotline that in late November, 1991 featured an attack on critics of left/right coalitions. Some Third Position themes have surfaced in the ecology movement and other movements championed by progressives.8
    (http://www.publiceye.org/fascist/third_position-01.html#P28_6245)

While the Third Position is an obscure ideology, there have been published reports that have reported on it. An excellent discussion of the emergence of the Third Position and the revival of a national socialist/Strasserite version of international fascism can be found in Kevin Coogan's 1999book, Dreamer of the Day: Francis Parker Yockey and the Postwar Fascist International and in Martin A. Lee's 1997 book, The Beast Reawakens.

The convergence among racial nationalists in North America and Western and Eastern Europe is discussed at length in Jeffrey Kaplan and Tore Bjørgo, eds., Nation and Race, and Jeffrey Kaplan and Leonard Weinberg, The Emergence of a Euro-American Radical Right.9
    (http://www.publiceye.org/fascist/third_position-01.html#P30_6803)

There is a theoretical discussion of the European Third Position and racially separate nation-states by Robert Antonio in "After Postmodernism: Reactionary Tribalism.10
    (http://www.publiceye.org/fascist/third_position-01.html#P31_7265)

The anti-U.S. aspect of the Third Position is examined in "´Neither Left Nor Right´" in the Southern Poverty Law Center magazine, Intelligence Report.11

Israel MK Katz: Pakistan Situation Proves Dangers of 2-State Solution

    Arutz Sheva

    by Hillel Fendel

(IsraelNN.com) Rahm Emanuel, Chief of Staff to U.S. President Barack Obama, told a large group of AIPAC supporters on Sunday that American efforts to stop Iran’s nuclear program depend on progress in Israel’s peace talks with the Palestinian Authority. So reported Channel One’s Mabat TV news report.

MK Yaakov Katz, chairman of the Ichud Leumi (National Union) party, says the veiled threat by Emanuel should be rebuffed and exposed for what it is: “He is basically telling Israel to commit suicide in exchange for American consent to consider dealing with the Iranian threat to the world.”

Furthermore, he asserts, Jihad - the war to spread Islam over the entire earth - is so integral to Islam that every Muslim fetus in the world calls for unity through Jihad. Click here to view

"True foundation and education start in the mosques... Do you realize what the mosque is? It is a prime factory educating men to fear and please Allah; [it is] the prime factory educating Jihad fighters...
The mosque is the life of Muslims, and the symbol of their courage and honor... Lieberman emphasized that Israel wants to continue negotiating with the Palestinian Authority but that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s government will take a more moderate approach to negotiations and focus more on developing the PA economy.

    Dear Susanna,

It would be tragic if this ended in a large war.

But everyone except Obama realizes Iran means businesss and that they are develping nuclear weapons with intent to use them on Israel.

    Israel's attitude is "Never again!"

The US provides Israel with arms and loans and these will likely freeze up if Israel acts. But their model is Iraq. When Israel bombed the Osirak reactor 18 miles south of Baghdad the world, including the US, squealed. But they later thanked Israel.

Iran is far more touchy because of site dispersion and burial, an anti-aircraft missile defense, an alerted air force, their own long-range missiles, and their Hamas and Hizbulla proxies worldwide.

If push comes to shove, I daresay that Israel may use nuclear-tipped missiles.

What will Obama do when the UN and world howls and possibly aoolies sanctioons?

  92. EU wants 'Internet G12' to govern cyberspace

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - The European Commission wants the US to dissolve all government links with the body that 'governs' the internet, replacing it with an international forum for discussing internet governance and online security.

The rules and decisions on key internet governance issues, such as the creation of top level domains (such as .com and .eu) and managing the internet address system that ensures computers can connect to each other, are currently made by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), a private, not-for profit corporation based in California which operates under an agreement with the US Department of Commerce.

The decisions made by ICANN affect the way the internet works all around the world.

EU information society commissioner Viviane Reding on Monday (4 May) suggested a new model for overseeing the internet from October this year, when the Commerce Department agreement runs out.

She called on US President Barack Obama to fully privatise ICANN and set up an independent judicial body, described as a "G12 for internet governance," which she described as a "multilateral forum for governments to discuss general internet governance policy and security issues."

    http://euobserver.com/9/28065

Internet Governance: EU Commissioner Reding calls for full privatisation and full accountability of ICANN as of 1 October

In a video posted on her website this morning, Viviane Reding, EU- Commissioner for Information Society and Media, called for greater transparency and accountability in Internet Governance as of October 2009. Key decisions related to Internet Governance, like top level domains and managing the internet's core directory, are currently made by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), a private not-for profit corporation established in California. So far, ICANN has been operating under an agreement with the US Department of Commerce. However, this agreement expires on 30 September this year. For the time after, Commissioner Reding today outlined a new governance model for the internet. This would include a fully private and accountable ICANN, accompanied by an independent judicial body, as well as a "G12 for Internet Governance" – a multilateral forum for governments to discuss general internet governance policy and security issues.

Obama and ACORN GPS Marking EVERY Front Door in America?

Republican Senator Judd Gregg was Obama’s first choice for the Secretary of Commerce post, and Gregg was actually considering joining the Obama team, until he found out that control of the US Census was being stripped from the Commerce Department and placed under the direct control of White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel.

Then, the same week that Americans learned that they were “domestic terrorists”—at least according to Obama’s new DHS (Department of Homeland Security),—if they own a bible, a pocket Constitution or guns, and still believe in Life, Liberty and Freedom, - they also learned that Obama’s Census Bureau had hired thousands of new temporary employees, equipped each with a handheld GPS computer and sent them out to mark GPS coordinates for every residential front door in America.

Oddly, it was this same period that news was breaking of an international flu pandemic, suspected of being a weaponized strain of the virus never before seen, - and that Obama’s team still sees no need to close the US-Mexican border, despite the cross continental spread of a deadly illness now claiming American lives.

Now, if any one of these events happened alone, one might not get too excited. But when a string of such events happen all at once, one begins to question the string of freedom and life threatening coincidences…

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech to AIPAC:

It's very good to be with all of you, and I want to thank all of you. I want to thank first the members of Congress who are assembled there, the leaders of AIPAC, you David, Howard Friedman, Lee Rosenberg and Howard Kohr, all the delegates of AIPAC and the hundreds of students that are in the room, all the friends of Israel. I want to thank all of you for your unwavering support for Israel and for strengthening the great friendship between Israel and the United States.
As you said, I have met President Obama, I respect him and I look forward to seeing him in Washington in a couple of weeks. We plan to continue our common quest for security, for prosperity and for peace.

Friends, there is something significant that is happening today in the Middle East, and I can say that for the first time in my lifetime, I believe for the first time in a century, that Arabs and Jews see a common danger. This wasn't always the case. In the '30's and '40's, many in the Arab world supported another country believing that that was their hope. In the '60's, '70' and '80's, they supported another country that was at odds with the Jewish state. But this is no longer the case.

There is a great challenge afoot. But that challenge also presents great opportunities. The common danger is echoed by Arab leaders throughout the Middle East; it is echoed by Israel repeatedly; it is echoed by Europeans, by many responsible governments around the world. And if I had to sum it up in one sentence, it is this: Iran must not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. If I had to sum up the opportunity in one word, it would be cooperation - cooperation between Israel and the Arab world and cooperation between Israel and the Palestinians.

Next week I'll be visiting Egypt with President Mubarak, and I plan to discuss both matters with him. We seek expanded relations with the Arab world. We want normalization of economic ties and diplomatic ties. We want peace with the Arab world. But we also want peace with the Palestinians. That peace has eluded us for more than 13 years. Six successive prime ministers of Israel and two American presidents have not succeeded in achieving this final peace settlement. I believe it is possible to achieve it, but I think it requires a fresh approach, and the fresh approach that I suggest is pursuing a triple track towards peace between Israel and the Palestinians - a political track, a security track, an economic track.

The political track means that we are prepared to resume peace negotiations without any delay and without any preconditions - the sooner the better. The security track means that we want to continue the cooperation with the program led by General Dayton, in cooperation with the Jordanians and with the Palestinian Authority to strengthen the security apparatus of the Palestinians. This is something we believe in and something that I think we can advance in a joint effort. The economic track means that we are prepared to work together to remove as many obstacles as we can to the advancement of the Palestinian economy. We want to work with the Palestinian Authority on this track, not as a substitute for political negotiations, but as a boost to them. I want to see Palestinian youngsters knowing that they have a future. I want them not to be hostage to a cult of death and despair and hate. I want them to have jobs. I want them to have career paths. I want them to know that they can provide for their families. This means that we can give them a future of hope, a future that means that there is prosperity for all. And this has proved to be successful in advancing a political peace in many parts of the world.

I believe that this triple track towards peace is the realistic path to peace, and I believe that with the cooperation of President Obama and President Abbas, we can defy the skeptics. We can surprise the world. But there are two provisos that I think have to be said at this point. First, peace will not come without security. If we abandon security, we'll have neither security nor peace. So I want to be very clear – we shall never compromise on Israel's security. Second, for a final peace settlement to be achieved, the Palestinians must recognize Israel as the Jewish state. They must recognize Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people.

A few hours ago, I spoke at the Knesset. We marked the birthday of Theodor Herzl, the founding father of Zionism. Herzl revolutionized the history of the Jewish people, a people that was scattered and defenseless throughout the nations. He revolutionized Jewish history when he published a slim pamphlet called "The Jewish State". This was our salvation and this is our foundation - the foundation of our future and the foundation of peace.

Good night from Jerusalem. God bless America. God bless Israel. Thank you all

The Agnelli's Peicci (a Fiat CEO) founded the Club of Rome. The Agnellis supported Mussolini. Is this not prima face evidence of CofRs mean green agenda gutting American mfg and foisting poor products on the American consumer? Does anyone know the spiritual/political orientation of the Agnellis? There has been a power struggle in the last few years. 108. QUARTET TO UNVEIL NEW MIDEAST PEACE PLAN-
" 'What we are discussing today is a combined approach of bringing together Arabs, Europeans and the United States as a team to create the circumstances over the next several months that allow Israelis and Palestinians to sit at the table, but also with Lebanese, Syrians and Arab nations,' Jordan's King Abdullah told a news conference in Berlin."

" 'So it is a packaged effort that we are going to work on ... and I would imagine that the plan will be more articulated by the president of the United States after (Israeli) Prime Minister Netanyahu's visit to Washington,' Abdullah added."

"Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is expected to meet US President Barack Obama on May 18 to push for a tough US stance on Iran. Israel argues that progress in peace with the Palestinians can't happen unless Iran is reined in."

"International Mideast envoy Tony Blair also said Wednesday that the Obama administration and international negotiators were drafting a new strategy for Israeli-Palestinian peace talks and expected to unveil it within six weeks. He did not provide any further details, however."

  114. To consider on GMES from the EUSC/ESDP websites:

Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES)
GMES is a joint initiative of the Commission and ESA launched in 1998 between European space actors (EC, ESA,
national space agencies) and adopted by the ESA and the Council in June and November 2001 respectively. It
represents a concerted effort to bring data and information providers together with users in order to increase mutual
understanding and enhance the availability of environmental and security-related geospatial information for those who
    need it.
In that respect, GMES aims at providing, on a sustainable basis, reliable and timely geospatial services related to
environment and security issues in support of public policy makers’ needs, by coordinating existing systems and
producing services of continued guaranteed validity.
The Satellite Centre is the only CFSP and ESDP operational tool in the security related domain. It has been involved
already in the reflections on the GMES Security Domain and is perceived as a key GMES European-level stake holder.
    The EUSC participates in:
    http://www.eusc.europa.eu/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=10&Itemid=19 (2 of 4) [5/6/2009 8:28:04 PM]
    GMES - EU Satellite Centre
    1) The High Level Space Policy Group.
    2) The GMES Advisory Council (GAC).
    3) The GMES Program Office (GPO) to contribute to the elaboration of the GMES policies, in particular those concerning
    the security domain of GMES.
    4) Various projects related to the GMES security domain including CFSP / ESDP issues which contribute to the
development of new pilot services at the Centre facilitating links with the EU industry in the space security projects.
    5) GMES conferences such as “Integration of the New EU Member Countries into the GMES Programme”.
This involvement is bringing along other factors from the second pillar, such as DG E VIII and the EUMS.
Global Monitoring for Security and Stability (GMOSS)
The EUSC continues to actively interface with the partners of the project and derive benefits and useful experiences from
the different activities of the GMOSS project in security research, training, staff exchange, research workshops on civil
security, sharing infrastructure and data, etc.
The GMOSS project presently concentrates its efforts in monitoring issue of proliferation of weapons of mass
destruction, humanitarian disasters such as the one in Darfur and natural disasters such as created by the tsunami in the
Indian Ocean as well as the earthquakes that took place in Iran and Kashmir. These activities focused on providing the
geospatial infrastructure needed for a rapid humanitarian response.
Telecommunications Advanced Network for GMES Operations (TANGO)
The main technological innovations of the TANGO project are the use of Earth Observation (EO) data relay by the
geostationary Artemis platform together with the integration of telecommunications services. The Centre will have a
leading role in the maritime surveillance and evacuation scenarios that have been proposed. The use of the state of the
art sensors in the maritime surveillance scenario such as the Automatic Identification System (AIS) will benefit any
maritime surveillance tasks of the Centre.
    ASTRO+
The aim of ASTRO+ is to show the potential of using space-based assets to support Security operations, its objective being to:
    1) Demonstrate to Users the unique advantages of space in specific situations: non intrusive and legal, available
everywhere at any time, robust and non-vulnerable to local threats. Propose a structured and effective access to the EU
resources providing timely response to security.
    2) Contribute to establish an R&T basis by networking Users, Institutions, Industry and Research, to enhance European
    competitiveness.

  118. From Reuters:

EU to decide on ties after Israel review-Solana
    06 May 2009 19:08:22 GMT
    Source: Reuters
PRAGUE, May 6 (Reuters) - The European Union will decide what to do about a frozen upgrade in ties with Israel once Israel unveils its Palestinian strategy review, EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana said on Wednesday.
Solana said "not much has advanced" in a meeting with new Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman in Prague and the Israeli side was fully aware of the EU's position, which insists on a two-state solution.
"They are in the process of review," he told reporters. "They have to see how they can make something that is compatible with that."
Solana said the Israeli side said it would have clearer ideas on the Palestinian policy around the middle of May.
Lieberman was in Europe to try to allay concern about the new Israeli government's policy on peace with the Palestinians, after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu worried international mediators by refusing to embrace a vision of a Palestinian state alongside Israel.
Aides said the aim of the visit was to buy time until the month-old government formed a regional strategy.
While the world waits to see U.S. President Barack Obama's next steps on the conflict, the 27-nation European Union has linked an unfreezing of plans to upgrade ties with Israel to Netanyahu committing to negotiate a two-state accord.
This has drawn rebukes from Israel, where officials said the EU risked undermine its peacemaking clout. (Reporting by David Brunnstrom)

If anyone is complacent about the attitude of American Muslims they should thoroughly read the various articles in the glossy American Muslim on-line Jihad magazine – link below. It is preaching revolution and showing how to accomplish it here and abroad; including recommending weapons and making detailed lists of its domestic enemies so it can “perform jihad against them.” Yet the Obama administration worries more about talk radio, tea parties, veterans and Israel.

Saudis, Egypt snatch US-backed peace track from Turkey. Assad is willing

    DEBKAfile Exclusive Report

    May 6, 2009, 10:34 PM (GMT+02:00)

One reason for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's urgent visit to Damascus Tuesday, May 5, according to DEBKAfile's intelligence sources, was to thwart a Saudi-Egyptian move to snatch the indirect Syrian-Israeli peace track backed by Washington from Turkey and relocate it in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

The Iranian president came too late. Syrian president Bashar Assad had meanwhile decided to appoint one of his must trusted intelligence officers, Gen. Bahjat Suleiman, as Syrian ambassador in Amman, with the task of heading his government's side in prospective peace talks.

Egypt and Saudi Arabia are solidly backed by the Persian Gulf emirates as well as Jordan in the move to cut Turkish prime minister Recip Tayyep Erdogan out and "Arabize" Middle East peacemaking. Edogan is left holding an empty bag after he turned against Israel and lined up with Iran.

DEBKAfile's Middle East sources report the combined Arab step also dealt a reverse to US president Barack Obama's Middle East emphases.

The US envoys, Daniel Shapiro of the National Security Council and Jeffrey Feltman of the State Department, due in Damascus Thursday, May 7, will pull in the opposite direction: They will try and resuscitate the Israel-Syrian indirect talks through Turkey and also persuade Assad to lean on the warring Palestinian factions Hamas and Fatah to bury the hatchet and establish a coalition government. This would take Palestinian fence-mending out of Cairo's hands.

However, the Syrian president has now chosen the all-Arab channel over the US-Turkish track for peace diplomacy with Israel, a slap in the face for Erdogan just a week after Turkish and Syrian land forces held their first ever joint maneuvers.

Protest Letter: 'Israel Going Too Far for Pope'

    Arutz Sheva

    by Hillel Fendel

(IsraelNN.com) The State of Israel is going all out in honor of the Pope’s upcoming visit to Israel. Some say it's going too far.

The State of Israel has issued new stamps of churches in honor of the visit, a website featuring a video all but endorsing Christianity, and more. Pope Benedict XVI, 82, is scheduled to arrive in Israel on Monday, May 11, and will leave on Friday, May 15, after having visited President Peres and the Chief Rabbis in Jerusalem, the Grand Mufti at the Dome of the Rock, and more.

MK Michael Ben-Ari (National Union) and Prof. Hillel Weiss of Bar Ilan University have written an open letter of complaint to the President, Prime Minister, Ministers and Knesset Members of Israel. The government appears to be bending over backwards, the letter states, to be the "willing victim of international pressure" to separate the Jewish nation from its land.

    Dear JD,

Here is something that you might find interesting. It is a book entitled THE BEAST REAWAKENS and according to the review, "special attention is given to ODESSA actions during the Cold War, international fascist networks, and political inroads to the right wing mainstream."http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beast_Reawakens

One of the very good questions that you asked earlier is one that I am currently researching. Namely, why the Nazi interest in South America?

My own guess is that apart from the Nazi-friendly regimes, South America is in some way connected with the myth of Atlantis vis a vis the teachings of Madame Helena Petrovna Blavatsky.

One of the neo-Nazi propagandists that you might want to pay attention to is the late Miguel Serrano who just died this past February. He was a Chilean diplomat who became one of the founders of what came to be known as "esoteric Hitlerism."

The following is an excerpt from Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke's book entitled BLACK SUN.

He was nominated to become a State Department lawyer.

If that isn't alarming enough, today's NY Slimes had an editorial that recommended him to Obama as the type of nominee they would like for the Supreme Court.
