The bottom line? Javier Solana wants the Irish to give him the only thing standing between him and total European cum global power: Ratification of the Lisbon Treaty! Will he get it? Time and events will tell! I recommend reading this speech skeptically with a copy of a Bible on one hand and STATEWATCH reports such as "Arming Big Brother" on the other. THE UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF DUBLIN APRIL 22ND SPEECH:
S127/09
Speech by
Javier Solana,
EU High Representative
for the Common Foreign and Security Policy
"Together we are stronger"
University College Dublin
Dublin, 22 April 2009
Dr. Brady, President of the University, Lord Mayor of Dublin, Dr. Thomas, distinguished ladies and gentlemen, Thank you, or should I say go raibh maith agaibh. It is a true privilege and a high honour to receive the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, from University College, which is Ireland’s largest university and alma mater of James Joyce and five Irish Taoisigh (Prime Ministers), among countless other distinguished alumni. I am especially pleased to receive an honorary doctorate in Law. Most of my professional life I have worked to create and develop institutions, relations, based essentially on laws. It is my deep conviction that the rule of law is the only possible cornerstone of social life and international relations. Once again thank you to University College Dublin for this great honour. It is always a pleasure to return to Ireland. Robert Schuman once wrote that an Irish saint, Columbanus, was “the patron saint of those who seek to construct a united Europe”. Ireland has always been at the heart of Europe. I am most grateful for inviting me to speak to you today, and I want to congratulate the Dublin European Institute for their fine research on the European Union.***Lord Mayor, Mr. President, distinguished friends, I have come to talk about Europe. About why we embarked on the journey of European integration. About what binds us together and what we have achieved. And why we need to continue this journey together. From building peace in Europe to promoting peace around the world. After the tragedy of World War II, European countries wanted to find new ways of working together to end the cycle of war and division. They removed barriers to trade, developed common policies and steadily enlarged their numbers from 6 to 12 and then, 15. The end of the Cold War opened the way to the reunification of the whole continent and the Union grew to 25 and now 27 member-states. Fifty years on since the start of the integration process, the results are impressive.Europe is enjoying the longest era of peace and prosperity in its history. The Union includes 27 sovereign democracies, collectively numbering 500 million citizens. Not very long ago citizens of some of these countries lived under dictatorships and totalitarian regimes. The EU played a central role in their successful transition to democracy. The 27 EU governments have created the world’s largest economy. They have also established the world’s largest area of free movement across national borders. Most EU countries are members of the Eurozone. This a particular relevant point in the current, painful severe recession. The common currency, the euro, is providing significant stability. All this is based upon strong institutions and a continent-wide legal order. There is nothing like it anywhere else in the world. Ordinary citizens have benefited most in the European Union. Without restrictions they can travel across 27 countries to find a job, get an education, invest in a business. Without any doubt, the EU is a unique experiment in world history. But why, some ask, does the EU need a foreign policy? Why does it not concentrate on its internal market? My answer is simple: Europe is not, and cannot be, an island of peace and prosperity in a turbulent world. We share common values and interests. We want to promote those values and protect those interests. But in today’s world they face challenges and threats – whether the abuse of human rights, flows of migrants escaping conflict and failed states, disputes over natural resources, or international terrorism. Most of these challenges are generated beyond our borders. An EU foreign policy is needed because no country in Europe can cope with them on its own. By acting together we can achieve much better results.Successive Irish governments have understood this. Thirty four years ago, the first Irish presidency of the EU in 1975 negotiated the Lomé Convention, a landmark trade and aid agreement with 71 African, Caribbean and Pacific countries. The EU has since become a major actor in a world that has radically changed and become more interdependent. Unless all of the world’s major actors work together we cannot tackle the global economic crisis, the environmental emergency, or international security challenges. The EU is at the heart of this collective effort.Global interdependence means others increasingly ask for our help. The EU has responded to these calls. The EU is leading international efforts to fight poverty in Africa and keep the peace in the Balkans. The EU is monitoring a ceasefire in Georgia and training the Afghan, Iraqi and Palestinian police forces as they try to re-build their societies. What ties all these things together? In other words, what is EU foreign policy ultimately for? The answer is equally simple: the aim of EU foreign policy is to replace the law of force with the force of law. This comes naturally to us. The EU, after all, has always been a peace project founded on democratic values and respect for laws. The EU wants a world order based on the rule of law. I do not need to tell an Irish audience about the importance of international law. W.B. Yeats warned us of the consequences of a world without laws in The Second Coming:Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;Mere anarchy is loosed upon the worldIreland was a forceful advocate of the League of Nations in the 1920s and 1930s. And it has been a strong supporter of the United Nations since it joined in 1955.The core goal of the European Security Strategy, which EU governments adopted in 2003 and recommitted themselves to last December, is “effective multilateralism”. The EU does not just want international laws to be written. It wants those laws to be respected and implemented. Of course, we are not always successful in each and every case. And we need to ensure that we practice what we preach. But surely Europe is right to try strengthen the rule of international law and to advocate more effective global governance. All this explains our support for strong institutions – from the WTO to the African Union to the OSCE – and rules for specific issues: from human rights, to non-proliferation, to climate change. It also explains why EU governments co-ordinate their policies at the United Nations, and strongly support UN efforts to stop conflicts and manage crises. EU countries pay 40 per cent of the UN peacekeeping budget. At the UN’s request the Union has sent peacekeepers to Bosnia, Chad and Congo. In short, we work hand in glove with the UN.Foreign policy is not just about what you say. It is as much about what you do, and how you do it. The EU is unique in this respect. It is not a military alliance, like NATO. NATO is for most EU member states the cornerstone of their territorial defence. This is not the EU’s objective. Rather, EU security and defence policy is a crisis management policy, which forms only one part of a much broader EU foreign and security policy. Plus, the implementation of the EU's security and defence policy uses the full range of resources available to us: from diplomats and development workers to judges and police, and – but only when necessary – soldiers.Let me illustrate this with some figures. Since 2003, the EU has initiated 23 crisis management operations. Only six of those missions have been military operations. The other 17 operations have been civilian, deploying police, judges, border guards, customs officials and other experts. Ireland, for example, has sent eight Gardaí to Kosovo to participate in the EU’s rule of law mission there. There are also four Gardaí in Bosnia, and an Irish policeman formerly headed the mission there. The EU’s holistic approach to international security is more similar to that of the United Nations than any other international organisation. This is all part of the growing international consensus that today’s international security challenges cannot be addressed using only, or even predominantly, military means – a truth which President Obama and his administration have also emphasised. Development policy is another key instrument. Collectively, EU governments and the EuropeanCommission are the largest spenders on development aid in the world, totalling some €46 billion in 2007. That is proof of the continued compassion that Europeans have with those who suffer. But we cannot have development without security. In countries emerging from conflict, it is human security that matters. That includes the rule of law, protecting human rights, effective governance and the chance of finding a job in a growing economy. The EU aims to combine its defence and development policies, so that they are more effective at protecting the vulnerable. EU peacekeepers worked closely with more than 70 development NGOs on the ground in Chad. A primary goal of the current EU naval operation off Somalia is to protect World Food Programme ships from attacks by pirates.***If we want Europe to meet the expectations of being a solid promoter of peace, then we need the Lisbon Treaty. For that treaty would make EU foreign policy more effective. It would streamline our institutions, helping us to bring together our diplomacy with our defence and development policies in a more coherent way. It would also mean that once a foreign policy decision is taken, we should be able to implement it more quickly and more effectively. It would ensure greater continuity, coherence and credibility in our dealings with third countries such as the US, China and Russia. It is vital for all of us that the Union should continue to make a credible contribution to international deliberations on major issues. We have given a lead to the global community on the crucial issue of climate change. With the Lisbon Treaty in place, we will be better equipped to play this kind of constructive global role. One important fact the Lisbon treaty would not change is that the 27 governments are, and will remain, in charge of EU foreign policy. That is why the EU foreign policy decision-making process is based on consensus. So, EU foreign policy can only work if there is a convergence of 27 national interests. This means the decisionmaking process can be slow and difficult. But it also means the opinions of all 27 are taken into account before any decision is made. One side of the coin is that any member State can block a decision. But the other side is that all have the capacity to actively contribute to shaping common policies. Ireland, for example, has consistently and effectively pressed for respect for human rights to be an integral part of EU relations with countries of the Middle East, Sudan and Burma/Myanmar amongst many others.***EU foreign policy does not just need the agreement of the 27 governments. It also needs their resources. But governments contribute on a voluntary basis. The EU cannot force governments to spend more on development aid or send more soldiers to peacekeeping operations. It is up to each government to decide whether and how it might contribute to any given operation. The Lisbon treaty would not change this fact. For instance, we need more civil resources for our peace-support operations. But finding the right personnel for civil operations is difficult. Not least because police, judges, doctors and administrators are also needed at home. And they do not stay in barracks to be called to duty. Ireland has been strongly supportive of the civilian aspects of ESDP, and has looked to overcome these shortages by pragmatic and flexible means, for instance by seeking experienced personnel from outside the ranks of serving officials. As a case in point, the Irish members of the Georgia and Afghanistan missions are all volunteers who had originally expressed an interest in taking part in the humanitarian and developmental activities of Irish Aid’s Rapid Reaction Corps. I also applaud the Irish Government’s decision to develop a national strategy to develop its capacity to do more in the civilian area.On its own, the EU does not have any military resources. The Union does not have an army nor are there any plans for it to have one. [Sure, Sure!!] The EU cannot conscript the citizens of any Member State. Nor can the EU tell Member States how much money they should spend on defence. Each government retains full control over its armed forces. It must decide for itself if it wishes to contribute to any given peace support operation, in accordance with its own national laws and procedures -in your case, the so-called “triple lock”.But we do all agree that by acting together, on a voluntary basis, we can achieve more than each on our own. The Irish army consistently has one of the highest Member State figures for the number of troops on international duty as a percentage of armed forces. An Irish General – Pat Nash – commanded the EU’s successful peacekeeping operation in Chad, which protected over 400,000 displaced persons and refugees fleeing from the Darfur conflict, before handing over to a UN force in March. I personally saw the Irish contingent in operation and can testify to their remarkable effectiveness. You can be proud of it.But, even when they do manage to deploy their soldiers, European countries often find they lack the right equipment. The peacekeeping mission in Chad was hampered by a severe shortage of helicopters. EU governments created the European Defence Agency to help co-ordinate their equipment plans, so that national governments, acting independently, can find ways to reduce the costs of acquiring equipment. This is sensible. Demand for EU peacekeepers is growing. But equipment costs arerising and European defence budgets are falling.***In conclusion, in today’s changing world Europeans can only make their voices heard if they speak together. And EU foreign policy can only work if we act together. If I can make a sporting analogy with the Ryder Cup: After World War II the British and Irish golf team usually lost badly to the Americans. This continued until the Irish-British team invited other Europeans to play with them in 1979. The Europe team – including a number of fine Irish golfers, as well of course as some brilliant Spaniards - has since held its own with the Americans. It is a similar story with EU foreign policy. It was born out of a mix of idealism and pragmatism. It marries the collective resources of EU governments with their common values and interests. And even though it has a long way to go, it is beginning to work on the ground. The world around us is changing fast. New problems and crises are emerging. Power is shifting. This all calls for a more united European response. The Lisbon treaty would help us develop a more effective EU foreign policy. I am convinced that a more effective EU foreign policy would benefit Ireland, Europe and the whole world.Friends, we should remind ourselves of the wisdom of an old saying from the Irish language: í neart go cur le chéile. In unity there is strength. Together we are stronger.Thank you.

The Guardian, Wednesday 27 May 2009
Article history
"While many voters across the rest of Europe may be toying with anti-EU parties from the extreme right and left, Ireland's protest vote is set to swing from one pro-EU force to another. Next week's European and local government elections will see, for the first time in 70 years, the pro-European Fine Gael party overtake the equally europhile Fianna Fáil.
"Ireland is going to buck political trends with a high turnout and the two mainstream opposition parties that support EU reform – Fine Gael and Labour – coming out on top.
Polls are also showing that a second referendum on the EU Lisbon treaty in Ireland would deliver a yes vote just under a year after the Republic said no. Fear of Ireland being isolated in the EU and further exposed to global economic storms is the main factor in voters switching. Opinion polls on a second Lisbon vote indicate a 2-1 margin in favour of ratifying the treaty this time around. A second referendum is expected in the early autumn.
"Anger over the way the Celtic Tiger boom years were squandered and disgust over the government's response to the Catholic church child abuse scandal is set to trigger what many are seeing as a political earthquake in the making. Fianna Fáil sources predict the party will get just over 20% of national support and for the first time since 1929 it will fall behind the main opposition party, Fine Gael.

Something I've been thinking about is, no one, including Javier himself disputes who his father is. Every bio and article I have read identify Javier Solana's father as either Francisco Solana, Francisco Solano, or even Francisco Javier Solana. Every bio of Nieves Hayat de Madariaga - Nieves Mathews, acknowledges two marriages to both Francisco Solana and N Mathews. Nieves Mathews bios list Javier & Luis as her two children. All publicly accessible biographies I have seen for Javier Solana list Luis as his brother and "chemistry professor" or Francisco Solana as their common father. Maybe someone will have more success, but I cannot find anything conclusive (a extensive bio of some sort) on
ReplyDeleteFrancisco Solana - a biography, background - marriages, or children etc..
Constance or anyone here who knows, maybe I've missed something, but other than reading her name in reference to her death, and listed as "mother" in several bios of Javier Solana, who IS Obdulia Madariaga? There is plenty of info about Nieves Mathews, her sister Isabel de Madariaga, Luis Solana (Javier's brother) Javier himself, and Salvador de Madariaga . I am not finding anything on the undisputed father of Javier Solana - surprising to me because of his apparent status as a chemistry
Professor, I would think there would be something. Is he dead? Is there a detailed obituary anyone knows of?
In this 2005 interview Javier Solana did with Physics World Magazine he explains a bit as to how he originally chose to study physics and of the influence of his "chemistry professor" father whom he liked watching do experiments, and accompanied many times to the University. He also briefly answers how his scientific training has helped in his political and diplomatic work.

My opinion was based on a link (not accessable any more) of a house "casa Solana" and in the desrciption they had written:
"Fue adquirida por Ezequiel Solana, un conocido pedagogo de los años 30, que compró la finca por recordarle a su pueblo Villarijo (Soria) y por las excelencias del clima de la Sierra. Las casas y el puente que dan acceso a la finca las construyó Francisco Solana, hijo de Ezequiel"
in short: the house was build by Francisco Solana son of writer and teacher Ezequiel Solana.
Ezequiel Solana Ramírez (10.04.1863-1931) is mentioned as Solanas (fatherside) grandfather here:

-The brother of Javier is
Luis Solana and the
son of brother Luis is: Pedro Luis Blasco Solana.
So we see here the tradition "name of the father is given to the son".
Javier's full name is Francisco Javier Solana de M.
-Then we have more children of grandfather Ezequiel: link translated (not accessable any more, see FP link above:)"...Spanish school was born thanks to the effort and the pedagogical eagerness of the children of Ezequiel Solana: Ana, Joaquin and Luis, uncles of whom soon outside socialist minister of Education, Javier Solana"
(the Luis here is another than brother Luis and see it says to all three "UNCLES", as father Francisco is not listed here)."

The piece I found that was curiously dated 2007 was a December 1934 listing of marriages and births in Madrid. Listed was a Don Luis Solana to an Obdulia Madariaga. Also in the same listing was the Duke of Alba (Duque de Alba) the
ReplyDeletePrensa de 16-diciembre-1934: Han casado en Madrid (Covadonga) don Luis Solana San Martín,
Doctor en Ciencias; y Obdulia Madariaga.
I also found a birth announcement for 1934 for the man, the Duke of Alba, said to be the man who introduced the New Age to Spain and allegedly (per dubious Lyndon LaRouche sources) fostered homosexuality. LaRouche sources I founn on line and in a 1992 book in my library on "Europe 1992: Blueprint for Dictatorship" had considerable material on a "Duke of Alba," who had the title by marriage. He was a former Jesuit who became connected with an El Pais newspaper which allegedly members of the Solana family had either ownership interests or connections with. El Pais, per that LaRouche Report (and my rule of thumb with that source is ONLY if I can verify it from independent sources).
It appears that a real veil of mystery has been drawn over the Solana family tree and antecedents. The entire picture is interesting -- and disturbing. There is a nephew of Solana, one Juan Solana, Ph.D., a son of Luis, who is active with Spanish media and communication sources here in the USA.

Any one else notice the half truths and out right lies in this speech?
ReplyDeleteThe one that stuck out most to me was,
"One important fact the Lisbon treaty would not change is that the 27 governments are, and will remain, in charge of EU foreign policy.
That is why the EU foreign policy decision-making process is based on consensus. So, EU foreign policy can only work if there is a convergence of 27 national interests. One side of the coin is that any member State can block a decision. But the other side is that all have the capacity to actively contribute to shaping common policies."
When he states the Libson would not take foreign policy making abilities from the 27 nations, is an out right lie. For starters 17 of the 27 can only offer opinions currently, and these opinions really have no weight. The WEU 10 make the final decisions. Then if thats not enough, one also has to take into account Solana is the only person who has say over how these foreign policies are implemented, so any policy is left completely up to his interpretation. The Libson only strengthens his current office, so much so, it has left the presidency as a smile for the crowds type of office by its own admission.
The doozey of all lies in this one is
"One side of the coin is that any member State can block a decision. But the other side is that all have the capacity to actively contribute to shaping common policies."
It just goes to show, how little most Europeans understand how the Union works. This doesn't even scratch the surface on what disturbs me about this speech, like how he states openly his desire to use the EU to implement global governance, or how he states he doesn't want a military for the Union, yet apparently they need one by his own admission! This one speech alone should show just how dangerous Javier really is!
Obama wants classified information review
ReplyDeleteWASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama on Wednesday ordered a review of how the nation keeps and classifies its secrets and instructed his top administration officials to lean toward disclosure when they can.
Obama said he didn't want to leave documents kept secret without a clear national security-based reason.
"While the government must be able to prevent the public disclosure of information where such disclosure would compromise the privacy of American citizens, national security or other legitimate interests, a democratic government accountable to the people must be as transparent as possible and must not withhold information for self-serving reasons or simply to avoid embarrassment," Obama said in a memo released from the White House.

Looks like we may see disclosure on the fallen,er, I mean UFOs. Most of us have expected this, it now appears to be knocking at the door.
An interesting but off topic article.
ReplyDeleteFuror grows over partisan car dealer closings
Evidence appears to be mounting that the Obama administration has systematically targeted for closing Chrysler dealers who contributed to Repubicans. What started earlier this week as mainly a rumbling on the Right side of the Blogosphere has gathered some steam today with revelations that among the dealers being shut down are a GOP congressman and closing of competitors to a dealership chain partly owned by former Clinton White House chief of staff Mack McLarty.
The basic issue raised here is this: How do we account for the fact millions of dollars were contributed to GOP candidates by Chrysler who are being closed by the government, but only one has been found so far that is being closed that contributed to the Obama campaign in 2008?
http://tinyurl.com/qzaxm8
No conclusive proof, and article even offers alternative arguement, but it does make you wonder.
In Javier's speech what is the meaning of "third countries":

Is it EU and Ireland?

Back in October of 2008, before the U.S. election, I had written here about 'Wise USA' and the 'Gaiafield Project'.

The Gaiafield Network traces it's own history recalling,
"the Harmonic Convergence of 1987, the GaiaMind meditation of 1997, James Twyman’s “Great Experiments” and the annual International Day of Peace Vigil have involved hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people. "

Back in October, this particular "project" of the Gaiafield Network, "Wise USA" was to be the initiator of a mass meditation event
called WiseUSA - to influence the upcoming Presidential election. Beginning last fall
before the election and continuing as I write, the Gaiafield Project
“aims to weave a multi-hub planetary network of spiritual peacemakers and communities who will regularly participate in large-scale globally-synchronized meditation and prayer events to support planetary healing and transformation in alignment with the principles set out in the Earth Charter.”
The Wise USA election focused "Deep Listening" events were led by easily recognized NA leadership. The Deep Listening/Meditation events before, during and following the 2008 Presidential election culminated on November 3, 2008 with David Spangler as speaker.

Please take note from the CIIS & Gaiafield partnership list above, Common Passion, which Joyce (thank you Joyce)recognizing its significance, put some real effort into highlighting for us in her previous comments.
As I examined the names on its management, scientific teams and its advisory board; read through the vision & mission statements,
looked at the corroborating organizations, conferences and shared inter religious, political, & social goals - it first and foremost is a reminder to me, of the unrelenting, very real, networked, and indisputable
Plan, escalating at full speed towards a culmination of the events foretold by God Himself preceding the return of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
Anyone who has read Constance's books and followed this blog for even a short time, hopefully by this time, recognizes we are witnessing a major convergence into reality of 'The Plan'.
As we all read, listen, and observe the information from a variety of resources what should become familiar is the undergirding Ancient Mystery Religion/Theosophical/Oneness of all religions/ i.e. "language" of the New Age.
By this time, most of us recognize and discern the hidden danger and feel as Constance did the "mounting horror" she found "while piecing this multitude of data together."
The recognition of the times in which we are living, that, as Constance wrote,
..."there is a viable movement -
The New Age Movement - that truly meets all the scriptual requirerments for the antichrist and the political movement that will bring him on the world scene."

Hi Rudi,
ReplyDeleteI also think we are on the same track.
Posting new material on Javier Solana was not my objective here.
Constance has already sifted through the Javier Solana material with a fine-tooth comb.
It would take some doing to turn up any new information on Solana that Constance hasn't already seen and posted.
My objective was to challenge people ( i.e. Squeakbox? ) who might be underhandedly trying to undermine Constance's credibility vis a vis their revisionism.
Those of us who have been following Constance's story on Javier Solana and have taken the trouble to check into the online publications Constance has named as her sources - or have even taken the trouble to run an objective independent search KNOW that at least one or more of the sources has been tinkered with.
We have SEEN IT!
Most of the sources that I have found name Nieves Hayat de Madariaga Mathews as Solana's mother.
The only reasons I can think of as to why the Solana supporters might want to hide Javier Solana's family background is because
1. Javier Solana, like his grandfather, has possibly been politically playing both ends against the middle with a view to being able to credibly claim that he was "always in the winner's corner" (whoever that may be) whether he actually was or not.
The fact that "Socialist" Javier Solana's wife (Concepcion Gimenez) was reportedly the daughter of one of fascist Francisco Franco's top generals certainly seems to hint in that direction.
As the anti-Franco activist in his youth and the anti-NATO activist in his 40s combined with his leadership of NATO in his 50s, Javier Solana has sometimes been called a "squarer of circles" (i.e. reconciler of opposites). Past illustrations of this (whether intentional or not) were his marriage to the daughter (Concepcion Gimenez) of a top Franco general and by his heading NATO in his fifties.
He has also played an active role in the various Mideast peace processes at least between 1991 and the present time.
Javier Solana is the father of two grown children: a son, Diego, and a daughter, Vega. Solana reportedly has never moved his immediate family - wife and children - to Brussels, his main residence since taking his NATO post in the late fall of 1995 and his European Union posts thereafter....http://www.indopedia.org/Javier_Solana.html
Javier and Concepcion reportedly separated in 1995.
2. Nieves Mathews Sufi background
could be damaging to Javier Solana's credibility in the "impartiality dept." during the ongoing peace negotiations between the Arabs and the Israelis.
These are just educated guesses on my part. I do not in any way pretend to be the "last word" on the issue.

Hi Susanna,
ReplyDeleteI agree with your assessment. The Internet has given us the ability to
access information we would otherwise not know. But we are still limited, not only by the amount of time we have to dig and sort through what's available and make a determination about it, but in reality by the amount of information we are "permitted" to examine. Even if occasionally a piece of information from a particular source may turn out to be exaggerated or proved inaccurate, I still appreciate the independent information and news gatherers who post their findings for all of us to discuss and evaluate. Except Squeakbox. -Rudi
The name Hayat which Nieves Matthews has as a middle name (according to reports here) is a Sufi name.
ReplyDeleteOne of the Sufi leaders in America was Hayat Inayat Khan.
It is hard for me to accept that being a Sufi of the Inayat Khan ilk would be a danger to the world per se.
Yes they do believe in syncretism, in spades, but that is the name of the game these days, even in many Christian churches. It's all part of the slide into syncretism by Christians, but just a "part". Why would anyone hide it when it's a pospular stance these days? In the very old days it might have been a blot on one's record; today...syncretism is PC.
His mother's religion might not be Javier Solana's religion, anyway.
Obdulia could be just another one of her names.
In my journey through the New Age I became several different people, Ambha (Hindu name) Aziza (Sufi name)
and Ma Prem Mariel (Bhagwanishi name).
What I wrote above does not preclude that Solana's heredity may be of interest and that some of it may be hidden. In fact perhaps hidden so that we find no trace.

"On Good Friday we had an employee from San Diego County come to our house, and inform us that the Bible study that we were having was a religious assembly, and in violation of the code in the county." David Jones told FOX News.
"We told them this is not really a religious assembly — this is just a Bible study with friends. We have a meal, we pray, that was all," Jones said.
A few days later, the couple received a written warning that cited "unlawful use of land," ordering them to either "stop religious assembly or apply for a major use permit," the couple's attorney Dean Broyles told San Diego news station 10News.
But the major use permit could cost the Jones' thousands of dollars just to have a few friends over.
For David and Mary Jones, it's about more than a question of money.
"The government may not prohibit the free exercise of religion," Broyles told FOX News. "I believe that our Founding Fathers would roll over in their grave if they saw that here in the year 2009, a pastor and his wife are being told that they cannot hold a simple Bible study in their own home."
"The implications are great because it’s not only us that’s involved," Mary Jones said. "There are thousands and thousands of Bible studies that are held all across the country. What we’re interested in is setting a precedent here — before it goes any further — and that we have it settled for the future."
The couple is planning to dispute the county's order this week.
If San Diego County refuses to allow the pastor and his wife to continue gathering without acquiring a permit, they will consider a lawsuit in federal court

Oh, how I wish this was one of those fantasticly over blown stories we often find floating around the internet, but sadly it's not.
Nieves Mathews told Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh / Osho that she was raised in Sufism and it was thoroughly inculcated in her. Sufism is a central core of the New Age -- the mystical, militant component. She also wrote that she had known Krishnamurti (the New Agers earlier hoped to be 'Maitreya')

One more thing. You are right about the limitations that still exist in terms of time and the availability and truthfulness of information online - even though we have so much more access to information than we would otherwise have without the internet.
One thing I have learned from experience is to never blow off ANY information no matter how "extreme" the source might seem.
In terms of doing research, the words "keep the wheat and leave the chaff" are words to live by. :-)
Hi Constance,
ReplyDeleteAccording to many, by virtue of Javier Solana being a Socialist, pretty much by definition he is an atheist.
But as you know, there are atheists and then there are atheists.
I am thinking of the Gramscian-style Socialism that has been smuggled into various countries vis a vis "inculturation."
I am also thinking about the species of Marxism/atheism that has been tricked out in "Christian" wraps in Central and South America and called "Liberation Theology."
Sufism, like gnosticism, is not a religion. It is a school of thought.
Just for the record, here are a couple of interesting little quotes on the relation between Sufism and Socialism - quotes with which devout Muslims I know would seriously beg to differ:
Kamal al-Din Rif'at, Secretery of the Da'wa and Thought in the Socialist Union said:"there is no contradiction at all between Islam and socialism; for Islam since its genesis had advocated socialism, and socialism is one of the principles of Islam"(al-Mulhaq al-Dini,al-Jumhuriyya 27 (July 1, 1966)and....
Muhammad Mahmud Alwan in Mulhaq 27 (june 24, 1966) is reported to have said, "All Sufism is socialism. The pioneer of socialism in Islam is Abu Dharr al-Ghifari. the history of Sufism at different periods is nothing but the best image of socialism" (cited in al-Munajjid, Balshafat, p. 82).http://tinyurl.com/np9syu
POSSIBLE $5,000 FINE FOR WILLFULLY REFUSING TO ANSWER U.S. CENSUS BUREAU'S VERY PERSONAL QUESTIONS
ReplyDeleteFrom WorldNetDaily (05/29/09)
Big Brother asks: 'Do you have a flush toilet?'
The federal government is forcing 3 million Americans to disclose sensitive, personal information about finances, health and lifestyle in a 14-page survey – including questions about availability of household flush toilets and difficulty with undressing and bathing.
The 2009 American Community Survey, an annual supplement to the decennial Census, asks about residents' personal relationships and whether a home has hot and cold running water, a flush toilet, bathing facilities, appliances and phone services. It also asks how many rooms are in a home and what vehicles are used at each household.
The new questionnaire asks respondents what they pay for electricity, gas, water and sewer every month and whether residents receive food stamps.
Question 16 asks, "About how much do you think this house and lot, apartment, or mobile home would sell for if it were for sale?"
Respondents are required to disclose costs associated with rent or mortgage, annual real estate taxes on and fire, hazard and flood insurance expenses.
For each person in the household, the questionnaire asks for citizenship status, education level, whether that person attends private or public schools. It also features questions about health coverage, hearing and vision impairment and physical, mental or emotional conditions.
It asks if residents "have difficulty dressing or bathing" or "doing errands alone such as visiting a doctor's office or shopping" or whether they have difficulty making decisions. Respondents must indicate if they have served in the military, their current marital status and whether they have been married or given birth to children in the last 12 months. The Census Bureau claims its question is used as a "measure of fertility" and is used to "carry out various programs required by statute, including … conducting research for voluntary family planning programs."
The letter asks where residents worked last week and whether they drove a car, rode a bus, subway railroad, ferryboat, taxicab or bicycle to get there. It then asks what time they left for work and how long their commute lasted.
Respondents are also required to disclose their place of employment, duties and income.
While many recipients may consider the questionnaire to be tedious and meddling, the Census Bureau warns that citizens are required by law to complete it and may be fined as much as $5,000 for willfully refusing. While an individual may feel uneasy about answering each question truthfully, the fine for filing false information can be as much as $500.
The Census Bureau estimates that the form takes an average of 38 minutes for each household to complete.
While the U.S. Constitution allows Americans to be counted for purposes of taxation and political representation, Jim Harper, a privacy expert at the Cato Institute, told the New York Post the survey is "a classic example of mission creep over the decades – this constitutional need to literally count how many noses are in the United States has turned into a vast data-collection operation."
Anon 1:07,
ReplyDeleteWhile this is uncomforting, given the over abundent effort being made to make sure not a single person can esape the coming census, I am not entirely suprised. I had already heard of the workers being used to mark houses via GPS, flexing their muscle and threatening fines on people who didn't want them on their property, despite the fact the census isn't due until next year.
I am debating now whether I will fill in my answers on this questionaire with none of your business, this question violates my right to privacy and so forth. Or filling it in with a big yellow crayon and mispelling a lot of things, all while rambling incoherently! This idea certainly isn't any crazier then them expecting me to actually answer this type of invasion of privacy.
Tancredo: Sotomayor Member of 'Latino KKK'
ReplyDeleteFormer Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., lashed out at Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor Thursday for her remarks suggesting that "wise Latinas" are better decision makers than white men.
Appearing on CNN, Tancredo, known mainly for his staunch opposition to giving illegal immigrants amnesty and citizenship rights, talked about Sotomayor's activism on behalf of La Raza, an immigrant rights group whose name translates literally to "The Race." He called it "a Latino KKK without the hoods or the nooses."

"We see no human being as 'illegal.' Those who have arrived to the U.S. with heritage indigenous to the Americas, and specifically those crossing the southern border, are migrants on their own continent."
La Raza Unida supports an open borders policy of unrestricted immigration; the effective dissolution of American borders; and amnesty, civil liberties protections, and expanded rights for illegals already residing in the United States. The organization articulates its immigration philosophy as follows: "We see no human being as 'illegal.' Those who have arrived to the U.S. with heritage indigenous to the Americas, and specifically those crossing the southern border, are migrants on their own continent."
La Raza Unida also professes "a commitment to the advancement of people of indigenous heritage," an advancement to be achieved by means of "the complete reworking of the current [capitalist] economic system." The group further seeks what it calls "fair taxes for all," a social justice plan for the REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH via tax hikes for higher earners and an expanded welfare state. Moreover, La Raza Unida asserts that the U.S. government should "drastically reduce the amount of taxes used to fund military purposes," and calls for "an end to the militarization of society, including the borders.

Constance,
ReplyDeleteIt all boils down to self-worship. Religious people are told they can be gods or awaken the divinity in them. Non-religious people are told that man is the measure of all things, so there's no need of God or religion, you are your own god. The Luciferian philosophy is being marketed to religious and non-religious alike. I have a collection of WW2 Newspaper archives. I just found out that the Nazi state church was a apostate Protestant church, that denied the Apostles creed and even re-wrote it.

Three hundred thousand people are already dying every year as a result of global warming, according to the most comprehensive report ever on the human impact of climate change.
The report by the Global Humanitarian Forum, set up by Kofi Annan, the former head of the United Nations, looked at the latest information on changing weather patterns and how they are affecting humans in terms of spreading disease and causing starvation and even conflict.
It found 325 million people are already seriously affected by climate change through damage to crops, homes and livelihoods at a total economic cost of $125 billion (£78 billion) every year.

Found some older stories on Solana that are significant. Here's one about his attempts to foster Israeli - Palestinian peace deal:
ReplyDelete"EU pledges to back any Israeli-Palestinian peace deal
with aid
By The Associated Press
The European Union promised Monday to back any Israeli-Palestinian deal
forged at the upcoming peace conference with aid, and urged Arab governments
to open their wallets to help forge a credible Palestinian economy.
Israel and the Palestinians have so far failed to reach any agreements ahead of
the Middle East gathering set for next week in Annapolis, Maryland.
On Monday, the EU foreign ministers endorsed a report - written by Benita
Ferrero-Waldner, the EU external relations commissioner, and EU foreign policy
chief Javier Solana - outlining steps to support any peace moves emerging from
the Annapolis conference.
"The report makes clear EU
aid will be made available
to boost the Palestinian
police force, health,
education and judiciary
departments. Also, the EU
stands ready to provide
broad economic assistance
while continuing
humanitarian aid in the
West Bank and Gaza
Strip," Ferrero-Waldner told
reporters.
"We are happy that
Annapolis seems to be
taking place," Ferrero Waldner told reporters.
She said post-Annapolis
aid measures would benefit
the Palestinian economy
and, in turn, meet Israel's
long-standing demand for
security guarantees.
"We know that Israel
always fears for the
security of its population,"
said Ferrero-Waldner. She
said if the Palestinian
economy can be revived,
there would be hope again
for peace.
In 2007, aid to the Palestinians from the EU and its member states will total
about 1 billion euros ($1.47 billion).
"We have been contributing a lot," Ferrero-Waldner said. "It is important now that
other donors come forward."
She said the EU looked notably to Arab League nations to announce
contributions at a Paris donor conference that would follow the Annapolis
meeting.

The Nazis were pagans fostering a state pagan religion. My appendix to A PLANNED DECEPTION has an article. They planned to stamp out Jews, Catholics and Protestants with the Protestants being last to go. They figured the Jews were the smallest and the weakest so they had to go first. They classified all monotheistic religions as being "Jewish based."

From that article:
ReplyDelete"Geneva was a smaller city at the time and much of the intellectual life related to the
League. The League had created the Committee for Intellectual Co-operation as an effort to
build an intellectual network of support for the League. De Madariaga gives interesting pen
portraits of people he had met in the League effort of intellectual cooperation: Paul Valery,
R. Tagore, Albert Einstein, Bernard Shaw, H.G. Wells and others. Knowing leading
intellectuals also opened doors to political figures in many countries. De Madariaga’s
knowledge of a country’s politics went beyond his contacts with the delegates to the League.
The highlights of De Madariaga’s League efforts were the complicated entry into
League membership of Mexico which had been barred by Woodrow Wilson who had bad
memories of the Mexican Revolution. Although the USA was not a League member, Mexico
had been barred by an annex to the Covenant. De Madariaga had to work so that Mexico
would accept League membership without asking for it — such is the craft of diplomacy!"
REMEMBER: It was Salvador de Madariaga who persuaded the League of Nations to admit MEXICO into its body when it was actively persecuting its Christians in general and Catholics in particular!

Bjorn had posted this in past. I found that item which was quoting the Spanish paper El Pais (which some sources say his family had ownership interests in)had this to say well worth reviewing:
ReplyDelete"
The secret of a powerful force: ILE What Björn (farmer) Thinks (February 4, 2008) - …In a short description about Solana, the Spanish El-Pais writes, that during his flights Solana has always with him his inseparable notebook. “More than 300 books of chronological record his thoughts and proposals. All with a neatness and enviable calligraphy. It is the life of the unknown Solana, the airtight, who devours reports and keeps his secrets with extreme zeal”. I quote more from the article:
“The strategy is based on his travel intense preparation off the ground. Numerous telephone contacts with his previous partners, many of whom end up being his friends. “Solana is a master at linking personal and professional relationships,” says one of his former colleagues. But he is also demanding to cruelty himself sometimes with impact until the pain also with his closest collaborators, although some are faithful to him twenty years.
Having reached the destination, he begins interviews with his partners, which always end up with a constant question: “How could we remain in touch?” A few days ago he left an astounded Yang Jiechi, the Foreign Minister of China, who responded: “through the official channels” “No, no,” Solana insisted, “I want your phone, your private email, we need to stay in touch.”
Thus, tenacity has been built with a selected professional staff with the most important actors in international politics. In the midst of war in Lebanon last summer, the trip included private meetings with the president of Lebanon, Fuad Siniora, with Saad Hariri, son of assassinated former prime minister, and Sabish Berri, close to the militia Hezbollah.
In Israel, had a lengthy meeting with the prime minister, Ehud Olmert, and in the Palestinian territories with the president of the Palestinian National Authority, Mahmoud Abbas. Always go to everyone. It is the network Solana. The dense spider’s web of contacts leads to more unexpected levels.
He has become a frequent visiter of anniversary celebrations of Magdeleine Albright, former secretary of State. He maintains a very close relationship with Bill and Hillary Clinton and also visits frequently the former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. In Washington, however, has been his most and least. During the mandate of the Secretary of State of Defense Donald Rumsfeld he never put his feet in the Pentagon. Later, with his deputy, Robert Gates, and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, relations have improved considerably. His “UN man” was the former secretary general Kofi Annan. In the Middle East, Shimon Peres and Yasser Arafat disappeared, he was their guides. In the EU, has maintained a special chemistry with the former Swedish prime minister Göran Person. The Solana network also covers Russia. The former Foreign chief Igor Ivanov is among his closest friends and the president, Vladimir Putin, has already led him to his dacha.”

ReplyDeleteDear Paul,
Acts 2 has absolutely nothing at all to do with the Jewish festival of Shavuot/Weeks/Pentacost.
The festival has one more alternate name: "Z'man Matan Torataynu" (The Season of the Giving of Our Torah). The Mt. Sinai encounter occurred the morning after the seventh week, at dawn, following the Exodus. Shavuot is, in this sense, connected to Passover and is considered by many to represent the culmination of the Passover season; hence, the name, “Weeks.”
The significance of the connection is that freedom, per se, is a problematic gift unless it is accompanied by transcendent meaning and purpose. These were provided at Sinai where political liberation was transformed to spiritual dedication.
It is Torah, not ethnicity, which has enabled Jews to survive as a people for thousands of years. Without Torah Jews would not be a people and Judaism not a religion.
The Torah was given in a no-man’s land, the desert of Sinai, rather than in the promised land. The Jewish Sages reasoned that the purpose was to emphasize that the Torah did not belong to Jews alone but is available for all people. A world that is a desert, with respect to law, can be transformed into a garden of harmony among peoples by following the Guide of guides of human relationships.
In the same vein, the story of Moses’ father in law, Jethro, and the Book of Ruth, both of which are traditionally read on Shavuot, emphasize universal themes. Jethro and Ruth were not born Jews. Both, however, came to worship the God of Israel, who is also the God of all humanity. According to the Bible, the Messiah will be descended from Ruth, the convert, who was the great grandmother of King David.
The last verse of the Tanakh (in 2Chronicles) features King Cyrus, also a non Jew. “Thus said King Cyrus of Persia: The Lord, God of Heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and has charged me with building Him a House in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Any one of you of all His people, the Lord his God be with him and let him go up (2Chron. 36:23).”
When the non-Jewish king, Cyrus, proclaims God as the God of Heaven and of earth, the Scriptures may come to their proper conclusion. That recognition marks the dawn of the day when the Lord of Israel will in fact be the One God of the entire world, as stated by Zechariah 14:9:
"And the Lord shall become King over all the earth; on that day shall the Lord be one, and His name one."
American capitalism gone with a whimper
ReplyDelete27.04.2009 Source: Pravda.Ru
It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.
True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.
Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.
First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish.
Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America.
The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

THE NAZI PERSECUTION OF RELIGION AS A WAR CRIME: THE OSS’S RESPONSE
ReplyDeleteWITHIN THE NUREMBERG TRIALS PROCESS
Claire Hulme and Dr. Michael Salter
[1] The track record of both intelligence agencies and the Christian Churches in the war crimes field has attracted controversy. For example, serious allegations have been made regarding help given to suspected Nazi war criminals in the immediate post-war years by both the US Counter Intelligence Corps
in the Klaus Barbie case, and Vatican officials as well as other senior Church official’s who co-operated with Nazism and the fascist Ustasha movement in Croatia.
There exists, however, a less well-documented record of the Office of Strategic Services’ (hereinafter ‘OSS’) support for the Nuremberg prosecutors, which contributed to the recognition that the Christian Churches were amongst the early victims of Nazi war criminality. This article is not an attempt to provide a detailed commentary on the OSS report published in the current edition of this journal. Instead, we will analyse some vital background, institutional and interpersonal dimensions of the OSS’s contribution to this aspect of the Nuremberg war crimes trials, particularly the important role of Franz Neumann, which places the report in its wider institutional and political contexts.

Hitler's Mufti, Not Hitler's Pope
ReplyDeleteBy Rabbi David G. Dalin
FrontPageMagazine.com August 9, 2005
Readers of David Horowitz’s excellent book Unholy Alliance are well aware of the peculiar relationship between the political Left and radical Islam. It is a relationship compounded by the Left’s incessant mongering of the myth of "Hitler’s Pope"—a myth that, as a rabbi and historian, I am determined to expose.
Many readers of the New York Times no doubt believe that Pope Pius XII was "Hitler’s Pope," because John Cornwell’s bestselling book told them that, and it’s been reaffirmed by Garry Wills, Daniel Goldhagen, and other Left-leaning writers since. It’s been said so often in fact that most well-read liberals know it for a certainty. The only trouble is: it isn’t true.
Not only does it contradict the words of Holocaust survivors, the founders of Israel, and the contemporary record of the New York Times, but even John Cornwell, the originator of the phrase "Hitler’s Pope," has recanted it saying that he was wrong to have ascribed evil motives to Pius and now found it "impossible to judge" the wartime pope.
But there’s something else that has been ignored nearly all together. Precisely at the moment when Pope Pius XII and the Catholic Church in Rome (and throughout Europe) was saving thousands of Jewish lives, Hitler had a cleric broadcasting from Berlin who called for the extermination of the Jews.
He was Hajj Amin al-Husseini, the viciously anti-Semitic Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, who resided in Berlin as a welcome guest and ally of the Nazis throughout the years of the Holocaust.
As I point out in my book, The Myth of Hitler’s Pope, the outrageous calumny directed against Pope Pius XII has not only besmirched the reputation of a man who did more than any other religious leader to save Jewish lives, it has deflected attention from the horrible truth of Hajj Amin al-Husseini—who continues to be a revered figure in the Muslim world.

Madariaga European Foundation is an organisation which aims to promote the working models of the European Union (EU) throughout Europe. It is named after the Spanish diplomat and writer Salvador de Madariaga. Its president is the EU foreign policy chief, and grandson of Madariaga, Javier Solana. It was founded in 1998 by former students of the College of Europe.
They organised their activities around two pillars: health and conflict prevention.

Len,
ReplyDeleteWith all due respect, and I do indeed
respect you very much:
Jesus rose from the dead and proceeded
to teach his disciples that his crucifixion
was all by God's design and that he would
soon return to his Father in heaven.
He opened up the Scriptures to them
and He told them that when he left,
that they were to stay in Jerusalem
and wait for Gods gift.
After forty days He ascended into
heaven, and ten days after that, they
were all together in the upper room
when the Lord of Hosts sent the
Holy Spirit.
The world has never been the same
since that day of Pentecost. This
faith in Jesus spread all over the
world like wildfire. This faith in Jesus
spread to every corner of the world.
It still comforts and teaches and leads
the faithful into a personal, loving
relationship with God, based on the
Torah and the Prophets.
Jesus himself is/was the "Firstfruits"
of a new creation.
Len/Paul,
ReplyDeleteThe Jews from the diaspora ( and god fearers from the nations) were gathered in Jerusalem for one of the 3 pilgrim feasts, which explains all the languages spoken on Shavuot when the Ruach HaKodesh was poured out on them as prophesied by the Prophet Joel:
Joel 2:28 It will come about after this
That I will bpour out My Spirit on all mankind;
And your sons and daughters will prophesy,
Your old men will dream dreams,
Your young men will see visions.
Now I think this will have another fulfillment, but Peter clearly refers to it in Acts 2. and I think this will happen again on the day of the Lord. The context of the original verse indicates that.
The "upper room" is at the Temple in Jerusalem, where there is a huge mikvah nearby, which would have permit 3000 to be immersed immediately following the outpouring of the Ruach.
The outpouring of the Ruach Hakodesh corresponds with God's promise to put Torah on the hearts of both house of Israel and remove their iniquity in Ezekiel 37, Jeremiah 31, Hebrews 8.
Judah will come to teshuvah because they will understand who Mashiach is.
God did not do away with the Torah, with the death of Yeshua. In the future days, Ephraim will have their inquities cleansed and Judah and Ephraim will be one in Yeshua, under Torah.
When Torah was given at Mt Sinai 3000 worshipped the golden calf and were killed. When the Ruach was given on Shavuot in Jerusalem, after Yeshua's death and resurrection 3000 were saved.
Hope you had a nice Shavuot and Shabbat.

I'm glad that the comments to this thread are not talking much about JS's "bloodline," but about his associations and their affect on him, and his affects on them. It is not relevant to his current or recent activities to consider whether Madriaga was his grandfather or his uncle or even his father. The Illuminati are said to be concerned with bloodlines, such as the fictitious tie to Jesus in the Da Vinci Code, but that should not be a concern for us when thinking of JS. His family influenced him, but it does not matter what his mother's "true" name was. It is of historical interest, not policy-making interest. Of course we are curious, but let's forget the curiosity in favor of real issues.

That may be a Christian "Pentacost" but it is a far cry from the Jewish one from which the name originated. Like your "first-fruits" comment, it is simply a fruitless attempt to accrete Jewish symbols and apply them to Jesus.
It is replacement theology pure and simple; much like calling Christianity the "New Israel." It is what missionaries do to deceive gullible and ignorant Jews.

ReplyDeletePaul's and Joyce's writings bring to mind the following excerpts from a news article on a talk, given by Rabbi David Hartman, in 1990. He was discussing Christian attitudes towards Israel in relation to the Holocaust. The excerpts are as reported in the Nov. 2, 1990 issue of the Long Island Jewish World.
"Christianity sees itself as the New Israel, God's newest revelation, that is to replace Judaism. Why do you think the Pope refuses to recognize Jerusalem as the capital? Because if it is, then the Jewish exile has ended. And if the Jewish exile has ended, then Christianity cannot explain its own tradition. Because its own tradition is parasitic on God's rejection of Israel."
"Do you know what's at stake? What do you think; just some sort of argument going on? The fundamental vision of Christianity was parasitic on the idea that God's initial revelation... the [Jewish] experiment ... did not work." Hartman said that Christianity viewed the suffering and exile of the Jewish people as punishment from God for not accepting the new message.
"As long as we were weak, as long as we were homeless, then Christian theology had a living witness to their claim to be the New Israel. Jews in exile confirmed the claim of a new revelation of Jesus. This is central to Christian thology."
Hartman stressed that suffering is a symbol Christians can deal with. "That is why Christians could handle the Holocaust. Because the Holocaust deals with Jewish suffering, and also because Jews are a suffering people, a crucified people. Crucifixion is a symbol Christians can deal with."
"They *cannot* deal with a living rebirth of the Jewish people in Jerusalem. And that is why I claim that the most important struggle in human history today is not the Holocaust - we should not be a Holocaust people - but a people reborn in Jerusalem."
Being out of context, the above appears more pejorative than it really is. Hartman is a confirmed pluralist and directs a center in Israel for the resolution of religious struggles. He recalled his early days in Brooklyn, playing basketball with blacks, Italians and Irish. He said that Israel needs some of that pluralism. His son has a doctorate in Islamic philosophy and Arabic. "The greatness of America is that it created room for people with different ideas," said Hartman. " As a Jew, I want to bring America to Jerusalem."

Len,
ReplyDeleteYou haven't read my comments carefully if you think I believe in replacement theology. I believe in the restoration of All Israel.. That means the physical and spiritual salvation of all the tribes.
You have never heard me promote Christianity or Judaism, because I don't believe in man-made religion. Yeshua is coming to restore the Torah, which will go out from Zion.
This will happen in spite of the fact that for the moment, many of the physical descendants of Judah ( the Jews) don't yet understand.
In the words of Yeshua:
Luke 24:25-27 And He said to them, “O foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! “Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into His glory?”Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.
It's all there in the Tanach, Len.. You just have to read the text and as Abba to open your eyes.
Shalom,
Joyce
Len, I can understand your and the Jewish view of Christianity at least in part. And yes, there are many Christians who view the church as replacing Isreal, but that is not the truth. Yeshua fullfilled and gives meaning to Torah, it is that which to the Torah points. Salvation and repentence found in Yeshua. Given today is Shavo'ut, it would be interesting to hear your idea of what the "two loaves" are supposed to symbolize. Now granted you Len may go by the popular dating which says Friday was Shavo'ut, regardless it is a wonderful question.
ReplyDeleteLen, I find it interesting that you recognize the dangers behind the New Age movement, yet emphasize "religious pluralism" which is part and parcel of what the New Age Movement and TBTB seeking to establish. So there is a disconnect there that I do not quite grasp of your frame of reference. And not Len, I am not a fan of any 'constant' barrage or anyone thinking they can convince you of anything cause none of us can. I do pray that your eyes, ears and heart opens to the truth of Who is truely the Messiah. We christians are blessed not because of any Jewish failures, but by God's providence and love and his implemation of the plan to crush the head of the seperant.

Just read this over at FP:
ReplyDelete"The 70th Week Countdown — What Curt Thinks
"President Obama and Benjamin Netanyahu at their White House meeting, May 18.
FP reader Curt Meili suggests one way events could play out in the next year, if the ENP is the seven-year covenant of Daniel 9.
President Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met, two weeks ago today, at the White House for their first face-to-face talks since both leaders came into office. During their meeting President Obama pressured Netanyahu to commit to a two-state solution with the Palestinians.
As I suspected Netanyahu failed to commit to this idea, mainly because in the past the Palestinian people and the terrorist organization Hamas have failed to recognize that Israel has the right to exist. Hamas has repeatedly stated their desire to wipe Israel off the face of the earth, and there really are no signs that this mindset has changed. Netanyahu is right to not negotiate toward a two-state solution until, at the very least, the Palestinians agree to let Israel live peacefully without fear of annihilation.
This, of course, does not look like it is going to happen anytime soon, and it is the major problem that many world leaders have tried to solve over the past 60 years. Which brings me to where I think we might be today. Keep in mind that the following is just my opinion and, of course, I could be wrong.
If the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) is the seven-year covenant as described in Daniel 9 then I suspect the following could occur. With the existing ENP agreement between the EU and Israel already two and a half years into the seven-year set time frame — and with a midterm review scheduled for June-July of 2010 — I think we might have the agreement in place that forces Israel to finally make a decision on the whole two-state solution discussion. You see, part of the ENP agreement is that Israel is required to make progress toward a two-state solution by the mid-point of the seven-year agreement. Learn more about the ENP here.
I suspect that Israel, under the leadership of Netanyahu, will not agree to a two-state solution by next summer nor will they make significant progress toward this goal. Even though they will be under intense international pressure, Netanyahu recognizes the danger a two-state solution is toward the future existence of his country. This will force the EU to act.
With the approval of the UN, US and the rest of the world, the EU will try to forcefully make Israel abide to their ENP agreement. This, I believe, will then snowball into the end-time events we see described in the Bible. The last three and a half years and the Great Tribulation will start soon after.
If the ENP is the foretold covenant then we will also see the global economic situation continue to deteriorate, so at — or soon after — the mid-point the Antichrist will have the ability to control who buys or sells.
Like I said earlier this could all be wrong, as only God knows all of the details of His Son’s return. The ENP could very well not be the agreement that is described in the Bible, but as of right now I see nothing to disqualify it. But with time quickly running out on the ENP being the foretold covenant, we should know pretty soon if the ENP has prophetic implications, and if it does not I will be here to say it.
One thing is for sure, there are signs all around us of our Savior’s soon return. What a great day that will be.
Stay tuned.

Mariel,
ReplyDeleteI so appreciate your contributions to this blog.
Len,
ReplyDeleteI don't promote religion.. We are called into relationship with the Living God.. Religion is man's substitute for the real deal.
The Bible never speaks of Judaism, and only speaks of "Christians" when the Romans used the word to insult the early followers of Yeshua, who called themselves "the Way".
At Mt. Sinai, God brought a people out of Egypt, that He chose and taught them how they were to relate to Him, through Moses. He gave them teachings, instructions and called them His "segullah" ( HIs treasured possession). Clearly He was teaching them about relationship, and how to live as a called out community who would glorify Him.
At Shavuot, God poured out His Spirit, as He promised and put Torah on the minds of His followers, instead of on tablets of stone.
Yeshua's death caused the veil to be open, giving way for man to enter into direct relationship with the Father, with no need for an intermediary. Our sins, which separated us from the Father were paid for in full, through the shedding of Yeshua's blood.
This opened the way for direct relationship between ourselves and our Creator, without need for the Levitical priesthood. Now, according to Ezekiel, the priesthood will be restored in the MIllennial Kingdom, but will not fulfill the same function.. That is, the need for sin and guilt offerings has been done away with once and for all in Messiah Yeshua.
I don't like the isms, because there's a lot of man-made garbage mixed in with the Scriptures which sadly hides what the texts of Scripture are actually saying. This is the greatest challenge in the 21st century, to hear God's voice without the interference of vain human wisdom.
Following a religion may be very comforting, because there is history, and tradition and many things that make one feel legitimate, but as I look at the men and women of the Scriptures who God spoke to, I see those that were not following the status quo, but were desiring to really walk with Him. In fact, very few of the great heros of the faith were actually popular in their day. You can start with Noah and work your way down the list..
Religion is man's attempt to create a system through which they understand God, instead of simply listening to His voice.
Oh, yes, I am a Jew because I am a descendant from the House of Judah, who loves and obeys Torah and Yeshua, but I don't follow rabbinic Judaism or Christianity and I'm quite comfortable not being in a box.
b'shem Yeshua,
Joyce

ReplyDeleteDear Joyce,
Shall we take a vote on whether you follow a religion?
For someone who says she does not follow a religion you sure write a great deal about your "non-religion;" probably more in fact than everyone else put together about their religion.
But please don't snow us about your being a Jew unless you add the adjective "Christian." Jewish Jews don't believe, and never have, in Jesus.
Len
Len,
ReplyDeleteSorry to differ with you, but all of the early followers of Yeshua to start with were Jews.. They continued to go to the synagogue, observe the mo'ed and observe Torah. They just did it with greater understanding of what Torah was all about.
You can either see or you can't. If you can't see, sometimes it's because you're not willing to look at the evidence right under your nose because it doesn't correspond with preconceptions. There are plenty of Jews who believe in Yeshua because they allowed HIm to open their eyes to all that is written about Him in Torah and the Prophets.
Some people looking at a burning bush, see a burning bush and others see the Lord. It just depends on your persective.
Acts 13:27 “For those who live in Jerusalem, and their rulers, recognizing neither Him nor the utterances of the prophets which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled these by condemning Him.
Shalom,
Joyce

The second Coming
ReplyDeleteW. B. Yeats, 1920
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in the sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
I find it interesting that Solana quotes Yeats, an Irishman, a Nobel prize winner for literature, and a life-long adept in the esoteric, theosophy and magic; a member of the Golden Dawn, in his speech. He would know that most people, though they had heard of Yeats and would even recognise the quotation (especially if they had read 'Things Fall Apart' by Chinua Achebe) would not be aware of Yeats's occult beliefs.
It's typical of the hidden agenda of the EU elite that they would quote from an esoteric in order to push their agenda through.
Hey, "What's-in-a-Name", good observation that W.B. Yeats, whose masterpiece you quote, was an occultist as well as a world-famous poet, and that most people do not know this.
ReplyDeleteI did not know this when I "studied" Yeats in college. My Poetry professor was an ardent Yeats admirer, studying him in depth, and yet never mentioned this that I can remember. (My teachers was the Pulitzer Prize winning poet Theodore Roethke). So you are right, this could be a "signal" to those who know this esoteric fact.
I think that today, in poetry studies, it would more likely be mentioned that Yeats was a member of occult societies. For better or for worse, everyone is "into" studying the occult, so this would more likely be mentioned. But most of Solana's audience were probably NOT aware of his esoteric ties, even the majority of young students who wouldn't particularly love poetry.
To WHAT'S IN A NAME:
ReplyDeleteBrilliant, brilliant post and I concur with your analysis. The de Madariaga family was clearly into Theosophy and Sufism and my opinion is that Solana was raising a very clear flag for insiders in those circles.
Thanks!
Constance
Politicans have been quoting Yeats for years. Melissa Block of NPR even did a segment on it back in the 90's:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.npr.org/programs/atc/rundowns/1996/mar/atc.03.15.96
http://www.online-literature.com/article/yeats/14682/
You can't get through the vast majority of Yeats's work without explicitly awareness of his occult ties. He hides nothing. For this reason I describe him as the "anti-occultist's occultist."
Yeats is one of the few New Agers with whom there is absolutely no "bait and switch."
Here is the blurb about the Melissa Block piece. Apologies but I cannot find a link to the actual segment. It was broadcast in 1996:
ReplyDelete8. YEATS-O-MANIA -- NPR's Melissa Block takes note of a trend among
politicians to quote the words of William Butler Yeats. Irish-American
politicians tend to quote him most frequently. There are complaints that taking
Yeats' lines out of context distorts their meaning and that over-using Yeats can
devalue the poet's work, reducing his lines to political cliches. (5:00)
