The New Age - A Pathway to Paradise ? (1983)

NOTE TO ALL: If this doesn't work, try this:

1. Google "Cumbey" using Google "Video" tab.

2. That will yield this video, "THE NEW AGE: PATHWAY TO PARADISE?"

3. Click on appropriate links, and it should start.

I accidentally found this on the internet the other day and was pleasantly surprised. I was a consultant for TV 38 of Chicago for its production. There are some featured in the video (Eric Pement, Dave Hunt) with whom I now have substantial disagreements. The New Age Movement is as much based on the western mysticism of Jacob Boehme and William Law as it is based on Hinduism and Eastern Mysticism. Nevertheless, the footage and message both are invaluable. I am pleasantly surprised to have the opportunity to make it available to my readers. You may download the google video player for free and manually download the video itself. A broadband connection is useful, but I think it may work on a dialup connection as well, albeit much slower. The following text is from Google.video's site:

Produced by WCFC TV in Chicago and originally aired on that station, this documentary gives the viewer an objective, behind-the-scenes look at the New Age Movement. The video contains candid interviews with well-known New Age leaders like David Spangler and Benjamin Creme, as well as interviews with leading Christian authorities on the New Age like Dave Hunt, Constance Cumbey and Martin and Diedre Bobgan.

Shot on location, the video takes you into the center of some New Age activities and the documentary itself examines many New Age ideas from holisitc health, yoga, hypnosis and trancendental meditation to New Age education practices, global government and the human potential movment. The evidence presented is sure to convince even skeptics that a New Age movement has solid footing in every aspect of American society and is gaining momentum at incredible speed.

  1. I found I could blog this 1983 documentary on the New Age Movement for which I was the primary consultant at the time of its making. I hope you enjoy it and I will appreciate your comments.

  3. Try

    1) Download the free Google video software and install it to your computer (and I recommend running your spy checker program right after that);

    2) Do a manual download to your computer of the movie.

That should work -- it did on mine!

  4. robin and anon-- You may just have to wait awhile for it to load up. I have a cable modem and it took about 5 minutes.
I am curious about the "plan". Is the Armageddon Script part of this "plan"? Where would New Agers say they were on this "plan" now 23 years later?
Thanks as always for a thought provoking blog!

  5. I have to comment on a comment posted by Seven Star Hand from the last post. I checked out his profile. He lists as his occupation, "messiah." He posted one of the last comments in Constance's last post. Should we feel honored in having a self-proclaimed "messiah" writing comments here? Seven Star Hand, if you're reading this, help me understand how your occupation is as "messiah."

I'm planning on watching this video. I've got to hear what Creme and Spangler have to say.

  6. I just took a moment to read Seven Star Hand's writings on his blog. He claims to actually be the "messiah." This fits the description of Creme's "Maitreya." Check this guy out.

Sorry, Seven Star, I have my doubts that you are God's true "messiah." Only Jesus is God's one and only Messiah.

Just a warning. I found the movie at a site on the web, but boy did I mess up my computer when I tried to move it from window size to full screen and then back again. Don't do what I did. I saw about a third of it before I started experimenting. Well worth watching. It was interesting to see how those we only know by name actually look and sound. The information is still pertinent. And Constance, you sure do look good on the film...

  9. Hey Battle Creek Dave,

Sorry to rain on your parade. People around the world have many names for me. As long as they are mere titles, I don't really mind so much, though I'm not associated with Creme, Share, or any other delusional group.

My ire is unequivocably focused on outright lies like those woven throughout the New Testament, though. I assure you, I am the wrong person to tell lies to or about. Especially when those deceptions are used to forge a worldwide empire and to cause death and suffering on such a grand scale. Before you and others arrogantly continue attempting to "pierce" me further, I suggest you read my articles on the web site and the first chapter of my book. It's free and I'll never attempt to extract money from you, unlike religions and churches have for millennia. The paperback books are sold at cost, so I make not one penny from all of my great efforts.

Not only do I talk the talk, I walk the walk.

    How about you?

I put the messages in 2 Thessalonians 2:11 and surrounding verses so you and others would eventually understand that truth and justice are the Creator's expectations of humanity. The two candlesticks and two witnesses in Revelation and the number 11 (Isaiah 11, 4 Ezra 11-13, Revelation 11, August 11, etc.) symbolize Truth and Justice. The evidence for this is overwhelming and verifiable.

On the other hand, faith is a blatant deception designed to keep people from seeking the truth and understanding wisdom. Pay very close attention to the Doctrine of Two Spirits on my web page and book cover. Christians (and others)have been utterly duped by those you thought you would be opposing in the future.

I pose to you and others that the meaning of these ancient texts have been lost on those confused by the assertions of religious leaders and founders. Ancient wisdom has been purposely recast and obfuscated into religion and mysticism. Both are two sides of the same coin, hence strong delusion. Consequently, the interpretations you and others present about the meaning of these texts and the philosophy and cosmology of ancient Hebrew sages is completely wrong. Before you scoff and write me off, you should understand that I speak from personal experience...

You won't like much of what I have to say. As promised, "all kindreds of the earth" are going to wail. Christians (and others) are completely wrong to believe that faith can defeat evil. Consequently, they have consistently succumbed to strong delusion. Because of the reliance on faith, many have been deceived into blindly supporting evil leaders and institutions throughout the centuries. The truth will be a very bitter pill for most, but all is not lost. Those who honestly strive to understand the truth will succeed at walking away from ages-old folly and error.

I highly recommend you and all religious followers start practicing patience and humility. You and yours have treated me very badly throughout the centuries and still you haven't learned a thing it appears.

To put it mildly, I am not pleased. Go ahead and push your luck further into the "pit."

Remember, I get the last laugh...

What will you do to put things straight and redeem yourselves from lifetimes of error?

    Peace...

What do you disagree with Dave Hunt about Connie? Do you have a blog/article that mentions these points. I read your book Hidden Dangers back in 1983 after watching you and Dave on the John Ankerberg Show. Thank you.
