More to fear than just EU's Solana!

More to fear than just EU’s Solana, e.g., here at home --President Bush: Who broke the law by telling people he was breaking the law?

As I have said before, I’ve met and very much liked our President’s mother. I confess to admiring his brother, the governor of Florida for his hands-on in the various natural disaster crises Florida has experienced. I confess, however, to feeling much perturbation over our current administration and circumstances – I can’t figure out which frightens me more – terrorism or the so-called “War on Terror” which seems to be manifesting itself in unlawful spying on the American people – without the safeguard of prior court approval – by our government.

Bad enough that it happened. Good that the President, albeit belligerently, owned up to it. Bad that the president has now announced – after admitting he broke the law – that he is now going to track down and find the person who broke the law by telling others the law was being broken! I suppose that will justify even more unlawful surveillance of our internet correspondence and phone calls.

This strikes me as even worse than Watergate. In Watergate, the perpetrators were eventually (for the most part) brought to justice, prosecuted, and many served prison time. Here, our government has announced its intention instead to prosecute those who broke the law by revealing the scope and extent of the unlawful NSA spying.

Other things are happening that disturb me. Police check lines for entering any public building -- ladies' purses being checked at large with compacts and dental floss confiscated, as is currently happening in Detroit, Michigan, USA. After all, we have to keep the country safe from dental floss, don't we? Its use might reduce taxable dental incomes! Now I learn to make a simple routine trip to Canada I will suddenly need a passport. Ditto to Mexico. As Canada is next door to Detroit that strikes me as perhaps an attempt to find out who scoots across the border to enjoy dinner in Windsor, Ontario or perhaps to sniff out who went gambling at a Windsor casino. The applications are far deeper than terrorism. I hear that the government is requiring all cars to have “black boxes” by 2008. This year just happens to coincide with the year that a number of tracking systems plan to be fully operational – Galileo, Russia’s, “The Consortium” (China, Great Britain, Malaysia, etc.)

What is happening to my country? What is happening to our world?

Constance, This has to happen as we get closer to the Tribulation. Beware when you hear Peace and Security. We know it will happen BECAUSE it is in the Bible. We can't be comfortable with it but... it IS the fullfilment of the scriptures! I watch the earth spinning toward this moment and want to yell, "Stop, cant you see what your doing?" but I know that most will not listen because they do not hear Jesus speaking in their heart. I cry that they crucified my Brother Jesus and I cry that we kill each other. It will get worse and the challange will be to maintain sanity as the world spins further and further out of control. Then the anti-christ will show up to bring control to this maddness and even the elect of the Church will welcome him. I know you know the story better than I but I know how the conflict resonates in my being. Just hold on as we your readers count on your wisdom and kind words to clarify the maddness as it manifests. Thanks again.

Bush didn't really break any law that other president's haven't. Clinton also spied on American's bigtime during the 90's while no war was happening then. The liberal media is making a big deal of it because the dems have nothing else to whine about at the moment. They're playing politics and they don't see how or care what it costs the nation.

Dems are out for revenge, period. It is my fear that if they somehow do get back into power that they will give up our freedoms for even more security, like is happening in the EU now.

Russia is going back to its old ways of oppresion and is now supporting Islam. Putin just put two Muslims in high places.

To fight terrorism today, the law becomes an impediment to stopping the terrorists, but it also opens the door to Big Brother.

Remember, everything is coming about as God wants it to as he told us in the Bible.

  3. Spying is spying whether by dems or rep's. The tu quoque defense (the other dude done did it -- therefore, its ok for me) just does not cut it as far as I am concerned. I am to smile on it because it is supposedly being done by a Christian president? I do not. I hope every person discovering unlawful non-court authorized spying will find it expedient to yes, embarrass, those doing it. I suppose we found out about Democrats doing it when Republicans wanted to embarrass them and ditto in reverse for Republicans doing it. I pray the urge to embarrass for this unlawful act will never end!

  4. Thank God that Bush has the balls to spy on Americans that are communicating with known terrorists. That is all he did, and we own him a debt of gratitude for the spared lives.

If anything is desparately wrong with this country, it is the knee-jerk reaction to everything. I swear, there is a new panic every week, around here!

How can you not expect a knee jerk reaction? When people(christians who are watching) see certain things happen that is forewarned in the biggest road map of all, the Bible, and then pulled off by christians. It is definately disturbing to say the least. Maybe God is just using christians to pull off things. If he is I wish he would pick someone else to take the rap because we all know who is going to get blamed when the stuff hits the fan. Us christians of coarse!

  6. "[T]he balls" to spy on Americans to fight terrorism? Maybe more like it the effrontery to think he can disregard the constitution. Moreover, as the Nixon administration showed, the use of spying quickly translates national interest into the spying official's personal interest. That was shown clearly by the Watergate breakin of Democratic Headquarters back in, I believe, 1972. It led to Richard Nixon's resignation in 1973. Checks and balances were built into our constitution for a reason -- to prevent a dictatorship. If you think it can't happen here, think again! Germany was considered the least possible place in Europe for dictated anti-Jewry to occur, but it did. Fallen human nature is fallen human nature. As Lord Acton so aptly said, "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely." In this day of quick and easy communication with judges by secured email and fax machines, there is particularly no excuse that I can legally fathom for failing to follow the process of FIRST OBTAINING A WARRANT! Furthermore, what the President confessed to was surveillance without a prior court order. What has now come to light is that the NSA program was FAR BROADER -- and from things I have seen on the internet, it well may have been in cooperation with EU authorities -- how long until anti-Solanaism is deemed against our mutual national (EU/USA) interests. How long until the EU Barcelona Process global war against fundamentalism is extended to "fundamentalists" here in the USA -- the literature already defines it as so? How long until us individual researchers are deemed "lone wolf" potential terrorists worthy of spying on? It's already in the "Patriot Act"? Any precedent you think may now be in your favor may just as quickly used against you. Let's not be like those prophesied in the book of Revelation who say, "I sit a Queen -- no harm shall come to me" -- that's precisely the hour in which the prophecy could be fulfilled, "in one hour shall thy plagues come."

Constance, I am an evangelical Christian who works in the mainstream media. I occasionally check in on your and Herb's blogs to keep up to date with the European situation.

I'm concerned with your latest post, as it suggests you are not aware of the huge coverup currently happening on our shores regarding 9/11.

The simplest point of entry is the blog www.911proof.com which includes statements from conservative Christian leaders, eyewitnesses, physicists, etc debunking the 'official' explanation.

I would encourage you to read it as soon as possible.

    Constance,
The real crime committed is by those who leaked the secret program to the liberal media for partisan snipping, which is grounds for legal action of treason having thus given the enemy knowledge to use against America while in a time of war.

The US Justice Department has opened a probe into the leaking of classified information which revealed that President George W. Bush had authorized a secret government wiretap program, an official source said.

The president's call for a probe came after US media (NYT) reported that Bush had authorized the NSA to engage in an operation to monitor massive volumes of telephone and Internet communications.

The president's order enabled the NSA to monitor, without a warrant, international telephone calls and electronic mail of US citizens suspected of ties to Al-Qaeda.

While the U.S. government, supported by majorities in national polls, is ignoring laws on oversight of homeland spying, the British are developing systems to literally follow, photographically, every citizen on his or her daily rounds.

Big Brother, the fictional invention of a British writer, George Orwell, will be real and functional within a year. The first step, scheduled to be operational next March, will use thousands of cameras linked to government databases to photograph every vehicle entering or leaving London, driving on major highways or stopping for gasoline -- and checking those movements against driver's licenses and other government information over two- and five-year periods.

"The new national surveillance network for tracking car journeys," said Steve Conner, science editor of The Independent, "... is already working on ways of automatically recognizing human faces by computer ... every move recorded and stored by machines."

Police also project a need for more complicated surveillance systems, schemes aided by hidden computer chips in new cars and trucks.

The system, originally planned as a crime-prevention and detection system, has been in development for 25 years. In Britain, as well as in the United States, police quickly realized that such innovations as automatic cash machines and EZ-pass readers provided a rough map of many people's lives -- and led to thousands upon thousands of criminal arrests. But there is no doubt that terrorism incidents and threats will speed development and make what were once considered unacceptable invasions of privacy more acceptable to the British -- and, one day, to Americans as well.

Seems Big Brother is growing two heads!

The Whitehouse is filled with lawyers well versed on the Constitution, the fact that Bush chose to ignore their advice on obtaining a warrant before hand speaks volumns about the man's character. This discussion would have a completely different tone had he have done things the right way in the first place.

While I am in agreement with Anonymous 1 ("This has to happen.."), I also respect Constance's passion regarding the law and her indignation of how the rights and freedoms of Americans have been eroded significantly since 9/11.

Here's an interesting set of quotes obtained from www.911Proof.com :

General Tommy Franks stated that if another terrorist attack occurs in the United States "the Constitution will likely be discarded in favor of a military form of government".

And Daniel Ellsberg, the famous Pentagon Papers whistleblower, said "if there is another terror attack, "I believe the president will get what he wants", which will include a dictatorship.

"If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy." - U.S. President James Madison

"Terrorism is the best political weapon for nothing drives people harder than a fear of sudden death". - Adolph Hitler

Unless the average Jo/Joanne wakes up and starts to realize that Bush and his handlers are not the people they pretend to be, and the checks and balances that are left in the constitution start to be employed quickly - America and the world will be a significantly worse place to live, and we will all be blindly accepting the unacceptable according to plan.

Contance, your site serves people who would be vigilant, but offers no real set of responses to employ against JS or his sidekick (however unwilling or willing he is)GBjr.

I would urge all Americans to write their represantives demanding GBjr etc be held accountable. Yes, national security is paramount, BUT, so are individual freedoms and rights. That is what makes America great..take it away, and you may as well live in Russia or China or India, and blogs like this - well would be actively discouraged, to say the least.

Finally, if Clinton can be impeached for his behaviour, and Nixon can be impeached for Watergate, why the hell shouldn't George W. Bush jr. be impeached for this?!?

On the otherhand - sometimes, it is better the devil you know, than the one you don't...which means just who will take his place in 2008? Perhaps that is the person that should be very carefully scrutinized providing Bush hasn't done away with the whole of the constitution by then AND made himself President for life...or installed his brother to take over the family business.

Anonymous, you may not have noticed, but there are many conservatives who are disgusted with Bush's performance which was supposed to be that of a conservative president. Perhaps it's just that we are not happy being continuously told, like little children, that we need not know what is going on behind the scenes and to trust him.

A president cannot be all things to all people. Maybe some conservatives are unhappy, I dont know. But I do know we should be very concerned about the ideology behind websites like www.911proof as recommended in a previous comment. You dont have to look very hard to find anti-Semitism and anti- Americanism. I think those with this attitude are far more a threat to this country than our government.

It is good that you are evaluating the 911 issue. It is MAJOR. You say you are VERY UNCOMFORTABLE about a particular 911 website. And no wonder. Please realize that the WWW is like the ocean where many and any things seems to dwell. Some websites are "disinfo" sites. Sites that seemingly diseminate information, but mix it in with just the things you mentioned for the very purpose of bringing discredit to the issue. Remember - judge the issue, not the websites.

"Do not hastily decide a matter..."

I encourage you and all to not decide the 911 issue on the basis of any one website.

As for your concern about so-called anti-Zionism, I would like to refer you to the "Last Trumpet Newsletter", in which the January issue touches upon the issue of "Zionism", and also several other interestng things.

While the Last Trumpet carries some very interesting gossipy material about the growing evil in our world, it very definitely has a leftist political slant.

When I say gossipy, I mean it uses sensational stories to separate the reader from those involved in the sensational exposes. The newsletter do not suggest any course of action other than that reader feel good about himself or herself.

    b) Fulfilled Prophecy: (Donald Rumsfeld is working closely with President Bush at the behest of the Masterminds of the Great Conspiracy of the Illuminati. These men are not concerned with honesty and common sense. They are interested only in realigning the world for the transition into a one-world government, which will result in a one-world dictatorship under Satan himself. Prophet David J Meyer)
    http://www.prophecies.org/DOCS/Fulfilled/Bk9-3d.htm

Another point. Many websites use both Henry Makow material as well as that of David Meyer.

A long time ago I determined that many people who start learning what is going on go into "What Have They Done To Me Lately" mode, looking for every little bit of gossipy type material to feel they are on top of things without a lot of effort. There are many disinformation experts who cater to this audience. Experts have said the best information is 75% truth and 25% propaganda. After examining the Meyer's newsletter, I would say it fell into that category. Unless a person is well grounded in solid research regarding New Age, it would be best to stay away from this very seductive piece of disinformation.

Being an avid mountain hiker with my dog as the only companion. I get upset when he stops every few minutes to squirt on a bush or flowering plant. .I really dont know where it all comes from, he never seems to empty his tank. Should I read lots of websites with ecological opinions and eventually learn to hate my dog? Or maybe even decide to shoot him? Well I prefer to keep him and return the love he shows for me. The point is "garbage in garbage out". No I am not saying your pictures are garbage, but rather what a person does to himself to reach these extreme positions. I would prefer you used your intelligence to find sites with some real unbiased facts. Instead you bring just the opposite. The subjects discussed here should be decided with facts, not junk!

Perhaps we ought take a step back and see the bigger picture of what is coming in these last few years as the EU steps up control over people, as the Russian government joins with Iran to go against democracy, and Tawain goes against China.

The U.S. is now talking to NATO and other countries about attacking Iran. U.S. planning military strike on Iran"

Iran's wacko president is now saying that Israel was put in the middle of Muslim countries to "complete the genocide" of the Jews.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran's hard-line president who has said the Holocaust was a myth, now has charged that European countries sought to complete the genocide by establishing a Jewish state in the midst of Muslim countries.

"Don't you think that continuation of genocide by expelling Jews from Europe was one of their aims in creating a regime of occupiers of Al- Quds (Jerusalem)?" the official Islamic Republic News agency quoted Ahmadinejad as saying Sunday. "Isn't that an important question?"

Here is a brief summary that explains a lot of what is happening regarding the new age movement. We here in the USA experienced an explosion (or revival) of the old pagan religions back in the 60’s. It took hold here with the hippie/anti-war youth movement and has been compared to the volk youth movement in Germany in the early 1900’s. The volk movement was also Pagan with racist nature worship prominent. They rejected the modern life and went back to the tribal/clan lifestyle. The important point is years later these left leaning people joined up in droves with the right leaning nazi movement as it was coming to power. Constance has talked about the new age connection to nazi Germany. I think all of the countries we fought against in WWII were inspired by the new age movement. I am no expert like Constance so I don’t know all the details. Constance also talks about 300,000 + Christians being hanged from streetposts in Mexico beginning in 1926. I think this was new age inspired as was the fleeing of the Jews from Europe to Israel at about this same time.
So what we now have here in this country is again left leaning pagans and extreme right white supremacists just as we had in Nazi Germany before the war. We now call this the new age movement. Those who grew from the hippie/anti-war movemennt now are taking control of left wing politics, hence the over the top and makes no sense type rhetoric from Democrats. Most domestic terror now comes from the left by animal rights and environmental movements. Anarchy is common from the left, especially during elections and during political hot periods. The white supremacists have been quieter than normal since the Oklahoma city bombing. Looks too much like new age Nazi Germany all over again, only it’s here in my USA.

I don't know if anyone has put this together before or not, but I thought I'd share it because I didn't know what Shahad meant, until I read it here... Secret Service says Iran is making a nuclear missle

The key sentence at the end is... "The next generation of the Shahab ("shooting star" in Persian) should be capable of reaching Austria and Italy."

    1 Corinthians  15:41
There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.

    Revelation  6:13
And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

    Matthew  24:29
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

    Mark  13:25
And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

Question: Could the Shahab missles be the Biblical Stars that will fall from the sky?

A real star would obliterate the entire planet like it was nothing due to its actual size compared to earth.

Drudge is reporting... VOICES FROM THE PAST: In an unusual move, the White House has invited all living secretaries of defense and state to White House on Thurs. for discussion with Bush about Iraq policy.

I think it will really be about Iran because they've restarted their nuke work.

The discussion here has been about George Bush breaking the law. All about how Bush is bad and how the people who exposed his secret spying on terrorists is good. My point is the persons that gave this info to the New York Times certainly broke the law by giving classified gov info to the media. That is why I showed an appropriate law in the above comment. I think they should also charge those in the media with breaking the laws. Names of politicians behind this should be made public. This is dirty politics played by people who are against the war on terror. Obviously I support the president in the war. He said he had the power to do this evesdropping on terrorists. If it turns out he is wrong and has broken a law then he too should pay. But I ask why not do all he can to protect this country from cowardly terrorist who will run from a fight, but sneak up and kill innocent people and then run away to hide again. Folks there is something bad wrong when so many people here oppose anything that has to do with taking the fight to these anti-christ like idiots. They will kill you if you do not fight back. But if you do fight back, they will hide somewhere in a cowardly way.

I grew up with some liberal friends whom I admired and tried to pattern my life after them. But you can bet I will fight to defend my family. I really don't have much respect for todays new liberals, they are nothing like the ones I grew up with.

Below is a copy of an email from a soldier in Iraq. It seems to me he has the best opinion of this "spying on citizens thing".

    Here are his comments:
I’m writing to you via my "official unsecure email" so you can see that I’m what I say I am; a soldier, officer, currently stationed in Iraq. Baghdad, actually. As such, this is personal to me.

The NSA program is out, and is for all intents, OBE. What al Queda and other terrorists groups knew beforehand, or know now, are simply points to be debated, as your post acknowledges. The program will continue until President Bush leaves office.

The more important part of this exposure, to me, is still to come. That is, do the candidates who wish to replace President Bush support the idea that we should use all legal means necessary to find out what the terrorists are doing to kill our families, and that those programs should have their constitutionality worked out behind closed doors with the advice and consent of the Congress; or do the candidates support the idea that there are inherent rights that terrorists hold, even as they try to kill us, and that newspapers have the right to notify them of programs that may interfere with those rights, regardless of the legality of that program.

The New York Times could not possibly have known what the President discussed with Congress about this program. The Left seems to be arguing that the intercepts were justifiably written about in an open forum, available to our enemies, because they may be illegal. I don’t support that view of things, and I don’t believe most Americans do. Such exposure used to be treasonous. I’m anxious to see that point discussed by the candidates. I’d like to make sure that the politician I am voting into office in 2006 or 2008 understand that there are appropriate forums to discuss the legality of such black programs, and they do not include the New York Times.

The Left is so wrapped up in BDS that they are now on the record supporting constitutional protections to non-American members of a group who have already killed thousands of Americans. I need to know which side of that debate the candidate supports.

I can understand the soldier's point of view, but it's my guess that our enemy terrorists know more about our espionage system than the average American does. We are not fighting dummies with IQs of 95. Not only are the terrorists sophisticated regarding mind control techniques as shown by their control of their population, they have huge amounts of money to work with.

If you are knowledgeable about the New Age movement, you should realize we are fighting two wars, an internal one and one against external terrorists. Both are ongoing. The war against Islamic terrorists we read about in the papers every day. The other one is happening by stealth. One is against our bodies and the other is against our souls. If the first one should end in six months and the world was peaceful, the second one would still be ongoing.

I think you might be surprised to find out how many people refuse to speak out about that second war, even when they know in much detail what is happening. That second war is harder because because we cannot name the enemies other than silly generalizations such as it's Satan or the devil or our government.

After a war such as the one in Iraq, taxes and laws tend to stay on the books. The enemy in that second war thinks people who are dissidents are mentally ill or too religious, and they see their opposition as enemies. Can you now see how it is important that our government follow the law or openly change it.

Constance know far more about that second war than I do, but I know enough to see her position.

But don't you think that the external war you refer to, is part of the on going internal one. I suggest there are those here just waiting for a chance to take over the gov. They would love this country to be weakened by terrorist, enough for them to make a move. I am certain the gov believes this a possibility. New age, anti- christ, Islamic Jihad, and others are all the same war. To loose either war is disaster for sure.

No, I think they are two different wars. The second is a gradual one that has been in progress for decades and whose agenda is to do away with the three religions. The Iraq war was started by Muslims whose agenda is not to do away with all religion, but just Judaism and Christianity. Unless the Muslims have a really big surprise coming in the next few decades, I don't think they are in operation together.

Even if 75% of what you wrote is true, you would need to show the common roots of New Age and the terrorists' war. New Age has infiltrated the Muslim community as it has infiltrated the Western religions. A New Age ongoing effort effort is to turn the three religions against each other and that may be a New Age connection, but it's slim in comparison to the other changes.

What I don't see among New Age leadership is any push for the Muslim religion whereas there is a push for the religions such as Buddhism.

What about those who follow the new age leaders. As a group they are siding with the terrorist. Why is that?

Why is nothing posted here about the the Newt equivalents from the left? Maybe it is what we don't see that is most important. Is the Newt thing just another hatchet job, from years past?

What you don't see is what is important, and that's why it was posted here. The MSM kept portraying him as a conservative. Those who posted here have shown his New Age and leftist connections. New Age is not limited to the political left or right. Constance pointed that out many years ago. You would be naive to believe that those who call themselves conservatives at the leadership level didn't know of these connections. Ask yourself why they didn't tell you about them and only kept saying he was a conservative.

The leftists support the Palestinian Muslims, many of whom are terrorists and are part of the international network. It's called SDS or Supply the Demand for the Supply. By creating conditions that make internationally combined efforts to suppress terrorism necessary, thus leading to more one world unification, they are SDS. This does not mean they are pushing the Muslim religion.

The game plan is more like chess than baseball where there are two clearly opposite teams working the same way.

My old grandpa was known to say things like "that don't crank my tractor" and "treason". I still respect his honest opinions. He surely would apply these today, were he still here.

There is a Duke and Maryland basketball game later tonight. I am sure none of the Duke players will join up with the Maryland team tonight. Did I hear someone say "coach K for president"?

The article below comes from Powerlineblog.com:

Terrorists Snapping Up Disposable Cell Phones

I haven't had time to research this in any detail, but it has the potential to be an important story: suspected terrorists have begun buying disposable cell phones in bulk. I take it that such phones are difficult if not impossible to trace. What makes the story potentially explosive is that the current buying spree seems to have begun suddenly, in various locations around the country, possibly as a reaction to the New York Times' blowing the secrecy of the NSA's cell phone intercept program. If that's true, and if these disposable phones really make it harder for the NSA to exploit information about al Qaeda's overseas phone numbers, the Times will have a lot to answer for.

At this point, though, I don't know that that is the case. I'm not sure who first highlighted this story, but Michelle Malkin has a good roundup with links to a number of sites and news stories. Apparently one would-be bulk purchaser has already been linked to a suspected terrorist cell in Texas.

So many red herrings and disinfo. The bottom line is there is no Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda is the CIA.
