What was Pat Robertson's Real Agenda?

WAS IT TO STRENGTHEN DEMOCRACY OR (MORE LIKELY) WAS IT TO WEAKEN THE GOSPEL?

Revised and amplified Sunday morning, August 28, 2005

Those of you who have followed my work against the New Age Movement over the years, particularly those who read my second book, A PLANNED DECEPTION, know that the word on the New Age Movement got out absolutely no thanks to Pat Robertson. He was the most vigorous opponent of my efforts. He finally released a book, THE NEW WORLD ORDER, purporting to be anti-New Age, but in reality was closer to anti-Semitic and quoting favorably some incredibly mixed New Age, anti-Jewish sources, such as Eustace Mullins. In case you are surprised by my statement that Eustace Mullins is New Age, just look at his book, MY LIFE IN CHRIST. There he professes his beliefs in 'ascended masters,' 'Aquarian Age,', etc., etc. Robertson's book itself gave a distinctly visible "international Jew" message -- the old line that they were in effect the masters of magic and money. Alice Bailey herself gave this message in her book, THE EXTERNALISATION OF THE HIERARCHY. Alice Bailey was the co-founder, with her husband Foster, of Lucifer Publishing Company, and the later founded Lucis Publishing Company and Lucis Trust in New York City.

Incredibly, the Robertson work, THE NEW WORLD ORDER, even directly copied one of my statements commenting on Benjamin Creme's advertisement ran in 25 major papers proclaiming "the Christ is now here". To add insult to injury, that book attributed my statement to Benjamin Creme, the most visible proponent of 'the Christ is now here crowd,' those proclaiming that Maitreya and not Jesus is the Christ.

Pat Robertson so often has has vigorously proclaimed that when the bible said,'every eye shall behold him,' it mean "on television." That certainly didn't match scripture, but it did match Alice Bailey's, THE EXTERNALISATION OF THE HIERARCHY, which said when it was time for the 'new Christ' to make his appearance, the prophecy 'every eye shall behold him would be interpreted to mean that he could be seen from even the most remote parts of earth by television.

I figured if Bro. Robertson had the nerve to say it, I had the nerve to quote him. He wrote a letter, sending it to my seldom used post office box that was so self-serving, I didn't even bother to answer it. He sent it approximately three more times over the next ten years. Then he falsely through associates put out disinformation saying I had called him "the antichrist" (I did not, but I certainly drew well-grounded parallels between what he was saying and the Alice Bailey crowd had written.) Numerous magazines then repeated his false statements claiming I had retracted statements I made against him after Robertson threatened me with a lawsuit. Pat Robertson's letter did threaten me with a lawsuit, but I was not frightened of it, nor did I retract anything -- what I had said was the easily documentable truth and I stood by it. In the United States of America, at least so far, truth is an absolute defense to any charge of slander or libel.

An organizer of the Prayer Breakfast in Honor of Israel, a Washington, D.C. area event that annually coincided with National Religious Broadcasters events there, contacted me in Brighton, Colorado where I had gone for Denver area speaking engagements in April 1986. He said he had a strange experience with Pat Robertson he could not make heads nor tails of until he read my chapter on him in A PLANNED DECEPTION. Pat Robertson had been the event's keynote speaker in 1986. The organizer had been cornered by Liberty Lobby people at the beginning of the event demanding he tell them if he knew who they were. "I don't know who you are, but I sure don't like your spirit", he replied. Per this man who was also seated at the head table, the Liberty Lobby crowd occupied three tables in the center of the hall for the Robertson speech Prayer Breakfast in Honor of Israel event.

In the middle of his speech Robertson stopped and said, "today Israel forced down an Egyptian jetliner and it turns out there were no terrorists aboard, only innocent civilians, which goes to prove nobody is infallible." My informant, the event organizer, said, "given the context of the event it was a strange statement. There was dead silence. Nobody applauded save the three tables of Liberty Lobby - Spotlight Magazine activists. They jumped to their feet, whistled, cheered and gave Pat Robertson a standing ovation. Robertson was looking right at them when he made the statement. I'm convinced he sent them a deliberate signal."

I was not convinced of that until the next year. That was when Liberty Lobby sent somebody to me to talk me out of my opposition to their work. The somebody they sent was Cornelius Vanderbreggen, the man who had allegedly led Pat Robertson to the Lord. Inter alia, he told me of his fervent belief of the truth of the virulently anti-Jewish, THE PROTOCOLS OF THE LEARNED ELDERS OF ZION. This was the man who Robertson left Dede Robertson in late stages of her second pregnancy to join for 40 days in the wilderness at an InterVarsity summer camp.

Shocked participants in the Prayer Breakfast in Honor of Israel whom I showed the Pat Robertson and Liberty Lobby materials featuring Cornelius Vanderbreggen soon brought Harald Bredesen to me. He was the person whom the alleged prophecy regarding Robertson, "for I have chosen you to usher in the coming of my son" came through. Bredesen told me he had never met Vanderbreggen. I went to dinner with Washington, D.C. area friends. I asked nobody to go to the Liberty Lobby hospitality suite for me at the NRB convention headquarters in the Sheraton Hotel where Vanderbreggen was giving a talk on "Israel and the Bible." A Campus Crusade for Christ representative who was studying some of these things on his own got curious and went to the event. He reported to me and author Joseph Carr the next morning what he had seen -- Bredesen and Vanderbreggen walked around through the suite talking about their old times and exploits together. Then Bredesen told those gathered what a big hero he had been for delaying my book's (THE HIDDEN DANGERS OF THE RAINBOW) publication for six months by forcing Huntington House to come up with $25,000 to buy out his interests. That was exactly what had happened and I knew about it at the time, but so many things were happening so fast in my life at the point that I had frankly forgotten about it until that reminder. Bill Keith, the former Louisiana state senator who then headed Huntington House, my publisher had informed me back in December 1982.

I remember chatting the next morning after that revelation with Joseph Carr. He said, "well, Connie, what do you think we should do about it?" I said, "I don't know, Joe, what do you think?" "Personally," said Joe, "I think we should go shout it from the housetops."

Now Pat Robertson has so very imprudently called for the assassination of the head of a sovereign country called Venezuela. I personally know Pat Robertson is probably far closer to New Ager than orthodox Christianity. But who is getting blamed for it? Honest, hard working Christian ministers of the Gospel. Read about it here.
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/08/27/international/americas/27venez.html

Just as your guess as to the antichrist's identity is as good as mine, so is your guess as to the false prophet's identity. My best educated guess at the moment is Pat Robertson, at least it's appearing to me more and more that he's at least a very strong wannabe. Maybe getting the gospel message kicked out of Venezuela was his real agenda. I don't know. I for one would like to know. He'll probably get Christians blamed for increased gas and oil prices, as well, should Venezuela further tighten their market as a result of these scary statements.

May the Lord help us all!

  1. When the Jacobson family of Florida announced they wanted to be the first family "chipped," Pat Robertson then invited them on the 700 Club along with a theologian, Dr. Kickasola from Regent University to say there was no theological dangers from taking the chip -- it could only be the mark of the beast if compulsory. Applied Digital Solutions gleefully uses the CBN story to help promote their product and their creepy chipmobile. To see what ADS is up to this week, check this:

  2. Pat Robertson's statement promoting the assasination of a national leader was a reckless statement that manifests his need for maturity in the faith and shows hatred in his heart. This is the kind of hatred that, if nutured, leads young men to fly planes into buildings or blow themselves uo to kill Israelis.

A statement of this kind can only be rejected and condemned in the strongest fashion. To literally add insult to injury, his "apology" was an insult to the intellegence of everyone who heard it. I am further disappointed that Christian "leadership" has not come forth and called for him to apologize to the leader of Venezuala (possibly in person) and all those who have supported his ministry and to repent of his sin.

But christian leaders and their followers are so inward focused with 12 step programs, purpose driven lives, the best life yet, their self-esteem, and in general the next big self-help fad that this gross insult to Jesus Christ has gone relatively unnoticed. They are no better than the muslim leaders who silently approved the 9/11 attack and the suicide bombings around the globe.

His comment has brought the perception of the born again christian community farther into the category of extremists. I believe that this statement will be used by many to justify the discrimination, arrest, persecution etc. of christians who aren't in agreement with the community standards of toleration, love, and brotherly human oneness.

I have always been suspicious of Mr. Robertson's theology, but I am no longer suspicious. His theology is just plain bad. I think he has gone and joined the other side - maybe not intentionally, but in ignorance.

The good news is that advanced of this has brought us one step closer to the return of Jesus Christ. WARNING: For those who think that we christians are taken out before things get really bad (that is, persecution) - better study the Word and get ready - we will be here for more than half of the last seven years - and thank Pat Robertson for his advancing the agenda of the enemy. I sure hope I'm wrong. Maranatha!

    Constance,
Thank-you for that great and informative post.

Here is some very relevant info. Readers will find some very eye openning connections relative to the Prayer Breakfast, Robertson, and several other 'christian' leaders.

    http://www.waynemadsenreport.com/scoops/christian_mafia.htm

I have also recently read that P.R. is the son of a particular US senator who was instrumental in the legislation which put the Federal Reserve into place. I will add the link on that as soon I can find it.

You have him pegged Constance. However, I don't want to call him brother. He stumbled and his sheepskin fell off, revealing a ravenous wolf.

When Jesus said, "Beware of false prophets...", the term 'beware' is a contraction of 'be aware'. Therefore, "Be aware of false prophets...". This implies that we can expect to recognize these imposters. When we do, lets not be shy about it.
There is big difference between condemning someone caught in an error, (something we should not do), vs identifying a corrupt and deliberate imposter.

You nailed it on this one,
    Connie!

Pat Robertson's personal testimony is manifested in his first book 1972 "SHOUT IT FROM THE HOUSETOPS" co-written by Jamie Buckingham. He explains how pivotal both Vanderbreggen and Bredesen were in his earliest transformation from "swinger" to "televangelist". There are four used copies of this book available on Amazon.com priced from .01 to .97

Fascinating reading, with lots of familiar names. Tammy Faye and Jim Baker worked for 700 Club in the 1960s. He described one Telethon fundraiser where Jim demanded on air that everyone in the 700 Club studio take off their shoes, they were standing on "holy ground"!

I'm not going to weigh in on Robertson's credentials as a Biblical prohesy figure. I will remark on one aspect of his credentials as a Christian. In his trial, Christ was asked by Pilate if he were a king. Christ responded "my kingdom is not of this world." That exchange has been the cornerstone of one of the key tenetes of the True Faith, that followers of Christ are IN this world, but not OF it. Regardless of his formative years. Pat Robertson has clearly become a man whose "kingdom" is clearly OF this world. The sooner Christians of all stripes disassociate themselves from Robertson and his Falstaffian confrere, Jerry Falwell, the better for all concerned.

Tronicus, that's a really heavy duty website that I hadn't heard of before. I went to the home page and did some scouting. The article on those mispresenting themselves as Christians is so sad. It does fit in with information that appeared in a book called Inside the League and with information on the Council for National Policy. http://watch.pair.com/cnp.html

Morton Blackwell who heads CNP is a strange duck. He wrote:
Tradition, Family and Property has close ties with Heritage founder, Paul Weyrich and Morton Blackwell of the Leadership Institute, who are members of the CNP. 20. Weyrich and Blackwell endorsed a 1993 book by Plinio Corrêa de Oliviera, on the necessity of restoring traditional nobility and elites to rule the world. Writing the Forward of Nobility & Analogous Traditional Elites, Morton Blackwell opined: "One does not have to accept Papal infallibility to appreciate a case persuasively made, using theological, moral, and prudential arguments. This book will convince many readers, whatever their faith, that good elites are legitimate, desirable and, yes, necessary." 21.

Go to the database of members at the above website and look up Robertson. He worked for J. Peter Grace.

We have been so dumbed down and turned away from real information on how the political world works that the information on Robertson may seem strange. Many, many years ago when I started learning what really was going on, I felt I moved from a child's view to an adult's view of the operations of the world.

I don't have my copy of Shout it from the Rooftops handy, but those who do might want to check out the "out of body" exercise Robertson and Baker were involved with at the station.

Pat Robertson may be guilty of many things! But not apolagizing to a horrid dictator [Chavez] is not one of his crimes. Chavez is working with Castro, and fellow "travelers" and so called radical Islam to take America out.......

I am not trying to say that Constance is wrong about Robertson, just that Robertson is right about Chavez! He is BAD!

Regarding the Madsen website, it definitely is not a neutral site. But as someone one said, if you want to learn about the left, read material from the right. If you want to read material about the right, go to the left. In this case Madsen presents information from the far left. Always check the links to a website to get the bottom line of their material. As Constance wrote, New Age is not limited to the left, it has a home on the right also.

Excuse me, but Doug seems to be a kid. That's the trouble with kids, they see history as being from the time they started learning it. It takes no brains to know no one is going to take a whack at the head of Venezuela because Robertson gave the word.

Robertson didn't become a multimillionaire by making stupid assessments that he shared with his audience. He survivied the televangelist dissipation for a reason. Let's say that his actual following is down. So what. Robertson's has actual value to the media as a representative of the Christian community. The writers don't expose him because he is valuable to their portrayal of Christians.

He's New Age. He has a reason for saying something stupid that will get a lot of media attention. His history, not exposed by the media, says he is New Age. People like Doug write off the top of their heads because they are young and haven't bothered to take the time to learn about Robertson's history.

Robertson's goal was not to encourage someone to assassinate Chavez. It was to cast some dirty water on the image of fundamentalist Christians. He doesn't need his Christian following. He has his millions.

  12. I tried watching/listening to some of the things that Pat Robertson has to say and well, the first thing that comes back to me is that he does seem to have the concerns of African Americans at heart. And the advice he gives to some of his viewers is sometimes inconclusive and unhelpful...but that's just me.

I plugged that article and it just so happens that I agree with you anonymous. I said that it was interesting because he seemed to be the only one who had a slightly differing opinion of Pat Robertson. I appreciate your response.

As for him being a New Ager or not...I'm a little confused about that. He has openly declared Jesus Christ as Lord, but then again I guess I fall into that category of "a kid". I don't know his history, and frankly I just don't care. I'm currently trying to find out a little more history on Solana and the literal meanings of his first and last name. In my economy of potential threats, Pat is low on the list, though it appears that his rhetoric is just a little bit above that of our naive President [W].

What do others here think of what Doug said?

Oh, and again. I happen to agree with you anonymous, however I think you're dogmatically marginalizing savvy, smart and INFORMED, young people [namely young Christians].

Look at Bush, he's old, but sometimes (in my view and speaking as an African American) he comes across as a blummin' idiot, who definitely does not have my interests at heart.

Age IS a factor, but there are exceptions to the rule. ...AND in light of this recent fiasco of the Gaza expulsion that was FULLY supported by Bush, I'd actually like to say that there are TERRIBLE exceptions to the rule: Wisdom does not necessarily come with age. Last I checked, it was given by Grace.

Bush should have checked with God before he condoned the Gaza withdrawal and now he's TRULY sounding like Eric Otte in demanding that Sharon give up Judea Samaria, and Jerusalem.

However, I do acknowledge the deficit in today's youth--including myself. But then again that partially falls back on the parents.

    Maranatha!

    John,
You make a good point about age. As my husband used to say, someone can have 25 years of experience or 25 times one year's experience.

However, I'm just assuming that most people reading here are discerning just becaue they are here. People who have lived many years have two ways of learning where as the young generally have only one. There is book learning, research, an understanding of history. In addition, those who are older can add comparison of what things were like when they were younger to the situation now, things that may not be reported in printed material they have access to.

For instance, Constance can tell others what she has found out about misleading Christians as Barry Chamish can talk about misleading Jews. Young people without the benefit of background will tend to give everyone the benefit of the doubt.

    Anonymous 4:14pm concluded:

"He doesn't need his Christian following. He has his millions."

So many people forget Jesus' warning that "where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

    and, Matthew 13:22
He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

So we need to be aware of the deceitfulness of riches. Speakingof of the deceitfulness of riches; when I did that last Bible search with the key word "riches", the following sponsor links came up:

Contrast these deceptions with the counsel of the Holy Word:

    1 Timothy

6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

6:9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

Sadly, I wonder, how many believers in America are led and deceived by "the lust of the eyes", i.e., the desire for wealth. How many preachers have succumbed to and even preach to promote the expectation for wealth, which is really just "the love of money" disquised as faith.

Guys, let's have a little balance here. It's very easy to write off people on the basis of some strange behavior or ill-advised comments. While I don't agree with Pat Robertson's comments about Chavez and many of his other advise dispenced on his program, I believe he has a heart for people and loves the Lord. Perhaps the pursuit of politics have made him off-kilter in some areas but I know that many, many people have been saved and blessed by his program. I just think we have to be very careful not to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

His destruction is greater than the good he may have done. Many years ago I talked with someone who was attempting to help the poverty stricken in a neighbor state supposedly under Operation Blessing's guidance. They got nothing from OB and had to raise their own funds and get their own food from community pantries.

There are many stories on the net dealing with Robertson's deceptive behavior. He has conned many people into giving their funds to him, only to enrich his own pockets. Unfortunately many of the exposes have been done by sources that are not neutral toward Christianity. But, I ask where, in the name of heaven, are the US media exposes of Robertson here in the US at least, much less his international operations. If you have been trusting of Robertson, just admit it and move on. Cut your losses.

I fear that as a group we Christians would like to think that we can somehow change the way that history unfolds. Here is the "bottom line". The Bible displays the history of mankind. Jesus saw how we used choice, and had brave people write it down. If the world turned to Jesus Christ with love for him and each other, well... that would cause a wonderful change to occur. What are the chances of that happening? The best we can do is to tell others about Jesus and lead others to him. The world will spin into a true mess with explosions on the sun, false christs, anti-christ, huge metors, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, famines and hopefully all of us know the rest of the story from our Bible studies. No fear Jesus is here. To wrap this up we need to be joyous that the scripture is being fulfilled in front of our eyes and we know that our Lord is Truth, and coming soon. No Pollyanna. We do not "guess" about the existance of Jesus and our eternal promise because not only is his joy in our heart all the time but we "see" his coming exposed, in part through websites such as Constance's and Herb's. We watch history unfold. God bless you Constance. Thanks for all your work. Jesus shows through all your writings.

You write: "...but we "see" his coming exposed, in part through websites such as Constance's and Herb's..."

This has puzzled me. Herb and Constance and many others have put much time, effort and their own money to document what changes are taking place in the world. Why do you think they do it? Wouldn't a half year's research and a $25 subscription to something serve your needs as well since you think the purpose of their research is just to verify what you already believe? If being a Christian believer is all that you need, then why bother verifying it with anyone's research. Does the favor of their research end at your doorstep because you are such a special person?

At EUreferendum, linked on Cumbey's main page, today the following paragraph apears:
"There are many ways, as he as shown, of bringing the battle home to the bureaucrats, and making their lives misery, and we should learn from him. Either we can do that, or we can roll over and suffer, in which case it will only get worse. The choice is yours but, as I am wont to say, democracy is not a spectator sport."

I choose to be very blunt:
BEING A CHRISTIAN OR JEW IS NOT A SPECTATOR SPORT. If you don't want things to get worse, you need to do more than be a spectator.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Anonymous6:53 PM

The Alpha and the Omega has stated that these things WILL (have) transpire (transpired). Ranting and raving about things getting worse will not change the way things will be. Simple, just like believing that Jesus is the Son of God. We all should do what we are lead to do, some do more than others but Jesus only gives us what we can bear. Jesus is the happiness that just showes through. Take joy in your existance. Try it you'll like it!

Sounds like a self-centered existence. If immoral things are to transpire so that the end will come, let's get rid of ministers, priests, and rabbis who teach people to not let the immoral things transpire. By your thinking they are just getting in the way of end times. Am I right?

Why of course your right! I'm sure you always are! Not! There is a logic that states that you (whoever you may be) are the center of your universe. I think that has to be tempered with an emersion in the Holy Ghost in the Trinity. All things will transpire that are written in the Gospel including the spreading of the Word in all the world. There is no denying that the Word is true, anymore than stating that Jesus is the only begotton Son of God... is there. Living in misery is not the result of Christanity, being able to enjoy your life is, as long as your life is in Jesus Christ.

Pat Robertson's comments were unfortunate for all Christians. Didn't Billy Graham do somthing out of character with the Clinton's recently? Why would he do that?

Ask yourself, Who would the evil one go after to cause a falling away?

Was it really Pat talking? Is it really Rowling who writes Harry Potter or are evil spirits working in the world today?

We should not be so quick to condemn, but to seek guidance from the Lord through prayer with the Holy Spirit, first.

Yes, I believe the end-times are here and this latest Hurricane "The roaring waves" is another sure sign that our messing with Israel is causing us and the world to be cut into pieces. More is surely coming as Israel gives up more land due to pressure from the nations.

We need to be praying on a constant basis now, keeping the Lord always at the forefront of our minds and spirit.

Constance, quoting a New Age source, said that one of the goals of New Age was to turn monotheistic religions against each other in one huge purging. I wish I remembered where it was found. I wondered how Muslims would be handled as that movement seemed to be growing more and more powerful. Here in the US, under the label "diversity", the Muslim community seemed to be getting more and more preferential treatment, creating an undercurrent of resentment.

Well, in other countries there has been a backlash against the Islamic community. Read this Daniel Pipes column which appeared at Jewish World Review. Read the words carefully. Note how the feelings against Muslims could be extended to other non-conforming religious groups.

When I said in the previous post that a backlash is being created here in the US by those giving the Muslims preferred treatment, this is an example. Just remember all of the New Age guests sweet Opra has had on her show. Even if we would like to keep it simple, those behind the scenes have very long term plans.

In the current issue of her magazine, Oprah has a story that truly shows how delusional she is.
It's the story of Yusra Abdu, an 18- year-old Palestinian. "A wonderfully frivolous teenager," "a happy girl with an optimistic smile." Oh, by the way, Yusra Abdu wanted to be a suicide bomber.

According to the article in Oprah, she was a girl with "velvety skin" who did it all for love. And, of course, because the Jews made her do it.
Indeed, the article's headline is "Love and Terror," and the introductory paragraph refers to Yusra as "one of the youngest casualties of an unending conflict." Catch that word "casualty?" Yes, according to Oprah, this young woman, who the article says has an "overfull closet of clothes, whose doors are layered with posters of handsome Arab stars," is a casualty.

Why? Because she's now serving a 15-month sentence in an Israeli jail. Why? Because she was planning to murder Jews, not that the article would ever use the word murder.

Only in the strange world of the Palestinians, and evidently Oprah, is someone who is setting out to kill innocent people, actually the victim in the whole thing.
That she evidently fell in love with Hani Akad, the top man in the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine in the city of Nablus, the victim, according to Oprah.

Just looked, and it calls for Iran to no longer deal with GERMANY, ENGLAND, AND/OR FRANCE and instead to exclusively deal with Solana as he represents all 25 EU countries. INTERESTING!!!!!

  32. To the person who called me "quick to condemn" Pat Robertson, for the record, I have had 24 years of hard experience with the man. I was hardly "quick" but he was very quick to suppress my work against the New Age Movement, starting in 1982.

You may buy a used car or Kola vitamins from him, if you choose. Personally, I choose not to.
