I've said all I want to say about ...Christine,

I've said all I want to say about US vs Iran + *possibly* hostile superpowers. In summary of various posts above: Not only do I not know what would happen in such a war - you don't know either, no matter how many times you say you do. Suppose Russia had decided that Iran was not worth going to the wall for - it wouldn't say that to America, would it? It would use exactly the same deterrent language as if it *was* prepared. So you have no idea what the Kremlin really intends. Also, for all either of us knows there are secret superpower deals going on behind our backs right now over this isssue right now, any of which would negate the scenario you claim is the only one. Read a book about the history of diplomacy and learn from some real world examples.

I am a physicist not a biologist (or a software engineer). I have no better idea than Scientific American readers what happens once a physical signal reaches one of the human senses. But I know plenty about light and sound propagation of signals from their source, through a vacuum or air, to reach a person; and about the only possible physical forces that can be involved. You can forget about aether. We have repeated the experiments which first ruled that out, using modern apparatus - and ruled it out to extremely high certainty. You wrote "Your kind of physics IS valuable" but there is only one kind of physics because there is only one set of physical laws - and physicists know a lot about them after 350 years. If you are getting sensations of the type you describe then the only possible sources are God, Satan's legions, or parts of your own soul/spirit that you (in common with others) are not routinely aware of, called by secular people the unconscious.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11772087.post-17999284978425696272012-02-10T18:31:22.002-05:002012-02-10T18:31:22.002-05:00I am hesitant to refer to more detailed sources, b...I am hesitant to refer to more detailed sources, because they are dismissable as conspiracy and flake stuff. The inventor was Michael Riconosciuto, a whizz kid who probably never went to college or maybe a little. google that name and PROMIS and INSLAW and see where you go.

Various statements of his regarding stuff he rigged into the Promis software, have been dismissed by computer experts as impossible.

However, it turned out later it was very possible, and some forms of remote spying long in use without physical contact or virus planting on computers requires that what was said was impossible in fact works.

Again, that film I saw showed something that makes no sense, except in terms of what he described.

Even a normal FAE sent down a missle silo could be expected to ruin a lot of the propulsion system maybe trigger a conventional explosion since it goes around corners. A real big FAE.

But all this doesn't matter as much as that NO WAY can we win against the combined might of Russia and China and assorted others who are fed up with us METC FAE or not.

Both have stated they will protect Iran, and Iran is too important to their oil interests to ignore them.

you still haven't dealt with the radio broadcast equivalence interpretation of telepathy.

Something goes on you do not know about. Because I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED, when I screamed in pain because of a sudden deep feed after only a light contact, the invisible tendril went into the throat energy center and the agony was like repressurization coming down in an airplane, only the position was not entirely the same, this was on the ground, and there are other things.

I can't explain everything, but you'd better start looking at the long dismissed ether physics sort of thing if you want to understand everything, because the answer has to be there.

Back to Riconosciuto, of course, you don't deal with the pragmatic experience of increasing burn of diesel by electrifying it, in that other link.

And if you google on the concepts of this and jet fuel and black budget projects, you will have some eye openers also.

I don't know everything, and I can't explain everything, but I know YOU don't know everything either.

Your kind of physics IS valuable. But it has its limits. In another 20 years, you might find there are changes, and I don't mean the New Age nonsense. Don't confuse me with people who say standard physics is all full of crap and we need mystical whatnot.

A lot of "clairvoyance" is just ability to see into some limited zone of IR or UV where cats and dogs see also and most people don't
but some do, and those who do can tell you whether it is a tiny bug or an "entity" that the cat is watching moving around, or the dog is barking at.

By the way, did you know there are people who have white reflex retinas and DO NOT have anything wrong with their vision except astigmatism? You won't find this discussed in medical sites.

But the "white reflex" is getting common enough that some photogs online complained of having to figure how to compensate for that like they do for normal red eye.

Wonder what's going on. Holdover imperfect dominant genes from neanderthals? Alien hybridization long ago? Or some other thing? I know that whatever was going on back of this, has to date from the early 1800s at least and maybe a lot longer ago for reasons I won't deal with here. Such people have glare sensitivity because they have an imperfectly developed nocturnal eye, like a shark. Not a full night eye like a cat.

impossible? fine. go feel comfortable. But I know what I've seen. I discussed with an eye doctor and the concept "imperfectly developed noctural eye" was what we put together on the oddity.

Some "white retinas" are from diseases, and only such are discussed online that I can find, but THESE ARE NOT DISEASED. Some of them are a tad clairvoyant, but that may have nothing to do with it.

Think outside the box.Christine Erikson (aka Justina)https://www.blogger.com/profile/11594093718714798117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11772087.post-51271325677731370822012-02-10T13:21:13.710-05:002012-02-10T13:21:13.710-05:00Christine,

They are too vague for a decent scientist to say much more about, but on the basis of what is common knowledge about molecules, namely the energy released per molecule of explosive compound, and molecular ionization energies, my skepticism expressed at 9.20am remains scientifically justified.

Incidentally, if the process is described as "a-neutronic" meaning "non-neutronic" then that too is a warning phrase that the writer is out of his or her scientific depth. Nobody describes chemical explosives as such. "Non-nuclear" would be accurate but nobody even thinks that chemical explosives have what it takes to initiate a nuclear reaction in the absence of fissile material.

Because you never admit that you might be mistaken, I am no longer sure what you are saying about these weapons that might be even in principle disputable.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11772087.post-33483137392528537512012-02-10T12:31:43.036-05:002012-02-10T12:31:43.036-05:00The Pentagon might well have it in theory, but do ...The Pentagon might well have it in theory, but do you think they are going with their conflict of interest relationships with the contractors rely on this? Take a look at the history of the development of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle, parodied in Pentagon Wars. That movie was based on an ugly reality that Eddie Fitzgerald who blew the lid off the $600 toilet seat, etc. had to struggle against.

The Russians would have got ahold of this as soon as the INSLAW scandal hit the Internet and sometimes mass media.Christine Erikson (aka Justina)https://www.blogger.com/profile/11594093718714798117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11772087.post-78210609089589194402012-02-10T12:28:32.845-05:002012-02-10T12:28:32.845-05:00"The website you referred to was merely a cha..."The website you referred to was merely a chatroom about science. When a chemical reaction takes place -...Christine,

When a chemical reaction takes place - as in a (non-nuclear) explosive reaction - a fixed amount of energy is released, according to the molecules that react, and the resulting products.

If you electrically charge those molecules (to become ions) then that too takes energy, and you will also get that energy back. But it is going to be MUCH less energy than is released in the reaction, becuae of the properties of electron orbits around the atomic nuclei in those molecules.

You write as if charging the molecules will drastically increase the yield of the explosion in some mysterious way. It won't. The preceding two paragraphs are all that is going on at the molecular level.

Now let me explain why fuel-air explosives are more effective than conventional explosives but less so than nukes.

If you detonate 2 tons of fuel, and it takes (say) 1 ton of oxygen from the atmosphere, then you have 3 tons of reaction mix. That mix might be half as powerful as TNT in terms of energy liberated, so it is equivalent to 6 tons of TNT. It will *always* be equivalent to 6 tons of TNT and you cannot significantly enhance that figure by charging it. But you can do a lot more damage to an extended target such as a town centre by dispersing it over a few acres prior to detonation than if you let it off in a heap all in one place. THAT is the rationale of fuel-air weapons. You can't get multi-megaton equivalents out of such weapons unless you lace the air above a city with millions of tons of petrol, which is logistically impossible.

I suspect that electrically charging the fuel in a fuel-air bomb is a way of enhancing its dispersal. But it does *not* give a bigger bang, and the idea that the Russians have something up their sleeve that the Pentagon doesn't is based not on better covert information but on ignorance of basic science.

The website you referred to was merely a chatroom about science. The relevant post included this comment: "The METC Thermo-baric device produces a three-stage explosion through a process described as a highly focused, A-neutronic energy transfer." A country without superpower backup was the target.

But that is not the situation now.Christine Erikson (aka Justina)https://www.blogger.com/profile/11594093718714798117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11772087.post-44424235150164488732012-02-09T12:38:27.944-05:002012-02-09T12:38:27.944-05:00Me: "Did you confuse explosive charge and ele...Me: "Did you confuse explosive charge and electrical charge, by the way?"

Christine: "Do you bother to read anything? I have already made it clear I DID NOT CONFUSE THE TWO. ADD ELECTRICAL CHARGE TO AN EXPLOSIVE AND YOU INCREASE THE EXPLOSIVE CHARGE."

Looks like you didn't bother to read my explanation at 10:37AM, that "The energy released in a chemical reaction is unchanged if the molecules are charged, except by at most the energy involved in charging them, which is going to be much smaller."

I have twice asked you to provide an online reference for your scientific assertions, without reponse. Third time lucky?

Me: "I don't know what will happen. You cannot know either - you just think you do."

Christine: "I claim to based on analysis of information. These are the most likely things..."

Most likely? You started by saying that that is what would *definitely* happen if the US waded in. All I ever said was that yours was one possible scenario. By saying 'likely' you have conceded my objection - albeit without saying so.

Did you reckon Gulf Wars I and II were going to lead to WW3, BTW?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
