Brief Update -- and Coming soon, a Polish language edition of Hidden Dangers of the Rainbow

Dear Friends:

I am still struggling both with my eyes and painful arthritis.  My physician has now prescribed a once a day fairly inexpensive pill that I have now taken for the first two days with significant relief.  I'm hoping that continues.  But there are encouraging fronts, nonetheless.

A Polish publisher contacted me via telephone directly from Poland.  He had been trying to reach me for some time.   He said he wanted to have HIDDEN DANGERS OF THE RAINBOW translated into the Polish language for circulation there and in Polish speaking regions.  I happily gave my consent.  He is sending the proposed contract that I will review and sign.  Additionally, I have volunteered to him that I would add an updating foreword as well as an end chapter with updates.  I could use that supplemental material to update Hidden Dangers' other editions (English, Dutch, Norwegian, and German).  He tells me it will take approximately six months to translate and produce.

Well, I suspect this will not make Isobel Blackthorn (author of THE UNLIKELY OCCULTIST - ALICE ANN BAILEY) happy.  It probably will not delight the Fetzer Institute either.  Their strategy is to publish the worst of the New Age and then label it as good, right, and true.  The New Age Movement is very much out there and in public view as "Meditation", "Mindfulness", and a host of new leaders and shamans.   A daughter of the King of Norway is living in the United States and is dating a New Age shaman leader.  The New Age Movement is far from dead.  The Fetzer Institute claims that they will now succeed whereas they failed in 1982 because now a majority are SBNR (Spiritual but not religious).

I have heard recently from New Agers exiting the New Age Movement and now seeking information to help their still involved friends.  I've had some wonderful telephone conversations with some.  Steve Bancarz is doing an excellent job of reaching out to New Agers with his own conversion account.  I'm greatly encouraged by his work and by the work of another very prominent former New Ager, Doreen Virtue.  There is a great deal of discussion about Kanye West and his very public profession of his belief and faith in Jesus.  Steve Bancarz believes this is a tremendous victory for God's Kingdom.  I am inclined to believe in Steve's analysis.  Some watchers feel and have stated otherwise; however, it is my belief that those exiting the New Age Movement and other similar circles have had their heads played with for a long time and there is often far from theological perfection while the Holy Spirit is doing His work.  There is a song sung by children, "God's still working on me."  Me, too!

I hope to post more frequently from now on.  Please pray that God strengthens me.

Sincerely,

CONSTANCE

Constance,

I'm glad you are receiving some relief. And I'm delighted to read of the forthcoming translation of your first book into Polish.

Constance. I take Great Lakes Gelatin CO, Unflavored Gelatin, two tablespoons per day, divided dose. Amazon Prime, two 16 oz cans, roughly 42.00. I have found this more helpful than glucosamine, shark cartilage, fish oil, or anything else I have used for my joints! Plus, it's basically food, so shouldn't be any drug interactions. Plus it makes your hair nice!

I added several footnotes to my latest article, titled "Mother Earth: Catholic Church's Emerging Acceptance Of New Age Spirituality." The article is located at: http://www.towahkon.org/Pachamama.html

Footnotes: (The footnotes presented in my online article include reference links.)

News: The internationally renowned spiritual theologian, Episcopal priest and eco-theologian, Reverend Matthew Fox, presents Daily Meditation (DM) Facebook postings. On Rev. Fox's December 10, 2019 (DM) Facebook post he presents a 173 word reply comment to my comment, which is a presentation of the above article. This article/comment of mine that is posted on Fox's Facebook site has an introductory sentence that reads: If the Roman Catholic Church would recognize the existence of Mother Earth, and then show respect and love for her, this, I believe, would help heal the world.

In Michael Matt's Sep. 23, 2019, video titled "ECO-SOCIALISM: Francis & the Amazon Schism" Mr. Matt says in the 6:45 to 7:42 section of the video that Pope Francis's theology "is like the theology by John Lennon." A part of the Beatles' song Imagine is then played. Mr. Matt then says the pope and his advisers are "like old hippies, they are like a bunch of old hippies who still think Imagine is cool." And then a little later in the video Matt says that "the Jesus that Pope Francis talks about is the Jesus of the New Age." So, Matt evidently believes that Pope Francis has a hippie New Age theology.

Mr. Matt uses a segment of a video by the co-founder of the Pachamama Alliance, Lynne Twist, to confirm his belief that the Pachamama (Mother Earth) Movement, including the Amazon synod, is about being, as stated by Twist, (1.) "a hospice to the death of the old structures and systems that no long serve us" (Matt believes that Twist is including the Catholic Church here), and (2.) a "midwife," to help them give birth to their emerging new structures and systems that we now know in the 21st Century will serve us. (An article of mine on this topic is titled, Global Paradigm Change.)

In a January 10, 2020 article by Michael Matt-he wrote that Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganň proclaimed in an InsideTheVatican.com interview that: "The [Amazon] Synod working document testifies to the emergence of a post-Christian Catholic theology, now, in this moment." The acclaimed beginning of "the emergence of a post-Christian Catholic theology" as stated by Vigano, is what I (a few years ago) prophetically announced had already begun. I also prophecies that this emerging theology would eventually develop into a theology that would be used to establishment a "new post-Christian Catholic Church." These prophecies of mine are presented in a few articles of mine, including one titled Mystical Paradigm Shift And A Post-Christian Church.

The Amazon synod's final document mentions mother earth three times. "The wisdom of ancestral peoples affirms that Mother Earth has a female face." Nature itself is treated as a person in the document. Twice, in the document, the "rights of nature" are recognized. Two articles of mine on this topic are located at (1.) here and (2.) here.

Google has my definition of the hippie New Age spiritual philosophy placed on the very top of its list of information about this topic.

"A special United Nations event was recently held in celebration of 'The Spirit of the United Nations.' Open to all U.N. staff and Non-Governmental Organizations, the program featured an opening 'blessing song on behalf of indigenous peoples,' an expression to 'thanks to Mother Earth.' And a special rendition of the former Beatle John Lennon's song, 'Imagine,' was played to those gathered at this event." This quote is from an article of mine tilted "UN, Natives And Hippies Unite To Save The World."

Trying to convince yourself again that your peyote inspired ideas have weight and substance because of a "hippie" pope, and other new age deceived buying old pagan lies? Is just cycling again, because stupid runs amuck these days like it did before landing in the dust bin of history, so lots of "celebrities" including this celebrity pope are itching for something "new". Malcontents, dropouts and druggies, and certainly the many narcissists who get off on negative publicity while they "protest" because they can't generate attention any other way, are a dime a dozen, Thomas.

And you are dying to be "relevant" and itching to their poster boy..

What is the New Age movement all about?

It's such a big deal, what's its story?

The New Age movement is very broad and therefore not easily defined. It is a humanistic movement (that initially spread through occult communities in the 1970s and 80s) rather than a philosophy with a specific set of beliefs. Still, there are some general issues that seem to be consistent throughout.

The “New Age” referred to is the Aquarian Age where man is supposed to evolve spiritually. In this, the focus is very much on man rather than on God. Man is considered divine, inherently good and in need of reaching his potential internally.

Man is also to be in harmony with nature. This plays out as more than just being careful and responsible. It can actually be a form of spiritism. Nature is considered to be spiritual as well. Overall, this movement is characterized by moral relativism and universal tolerance. Each person is to find his or her own reality and, through tolerance, produce peace and love.

Regrettably, about the only thing that is NOT tolerated is the TRUE God!

New Age philosophy incorporates elements of pagan worship including Eastern mysticism, astrology, palm reading, crystal healing, pyramidology, Western European paganism (Wicca), Native American spiritism, pantheism and nature worship. It sometimes includes linking up with aliens in an intergalactic consciousness. Some forms do acknowledge a cosmic Christ—{claiming} that Jesus was a yogi and that he was trying to show us all how to be “Christs” like him. Some New Age practices also include psychic powers like levitation and efforts to contact the spirits of the dead. There is an emphasis on the acquisition of mystical knowledge.

There are MANY dangers here:

•For one, the New Age worldview is unbiblical and false, leading people away from the truth of God.

•For another, the occult practices mentioned above are really dabbling with evil spirits. Demons pose as the spirits of the dead, and they are also the ones supplying the power behind occult supernatural acts, often at first unbeknownst to the occult practitioner.

•Moreover, the New Age movement runs DIRECTLY COUNTER to God’s instruction!

Notice what God told the Israelites when they entered the Promised Land:

He had given them His laws and made it clear how they were to live. The people of the land they were entering had their own religious practices. God’s warning to Israel was:

“Take heed to yourself that you are not ensnared to follow them [the native people], after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods? I also will do likewise’ ” (Deuteronomy 12:30).

He then told them:

“Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it” (verse 32).

The same instruction applies to us TODAY. We are NOT to engage in or adapt any of the religious practices of the peoples around us into our worship of God.

Could you be affected by a popular but deceptive New Age teaching?

May 28, 2007

By Howard Davis

What's at the heart of 'The Secret' and 'The Law of Attraction'?

Does the Bible offer any insight and guidance?

“Have you heard 'The Secret'? It is the most important secret for human beings to hear. It holds the keys to human success and understanding why you are here. It is the secret of the most powerful force in the universe. It is the basis for what has been, what is and what will be.”

Sounds interesting, doesn’t it? Statements like these from the “law of attraction” marketing campaign are exploding through American and global media. In only a few months it has already become a hugely successful effort, selling millions of tapes, books and DVDs.

It’s a promoter’s dream come true. Almost out of nowhere, the strange and powerfully seductive teachings of the DVD movie and book The Secret, and the book The Law of Attraction (promoted by psychics Esther and Jerry Hicks), are appearing everywhere. They’ve been seen worldwide on Oprah Winfrey’s hugely popular TV talk show and on Larry King’s CNN show. They’ve been featured in a myriad of other TV and radio programs, and in magazines and newspapers.

Many millions have been swayed by the seductive philosophy that you will achieve wealth, greatness or health simply by wishing it so.

That’s right. All the hype is based on the teaching that there is a secret basic law in the universe that says you can have anything you want by wanting it badly enough. Through total and focused desire on what you want, you will automatically attract it to you. That’s the law of attraction, the secret that is “the greatest power in the universe.”

Demons in Hollywood’s Garden of Eden

Advocates claim that the law of attraction has the absolute scientific validity of any physical law, as real and unchangeable as gravity. “These Laws are absolute, they are Eternal, and they are omnipresent (or everywhere)” (Esther and Jerry Hicks, The Law of Attraction, 2006, p. 20).

Oprah Winfrey said on her program that she has always believed and practiced The Secret. But only in the fantasy world of Hollywood-influenced media can this old New Age idea be taken as scientific truth—that your personal thoughts, positive or negative, are the ultimate reality behind the universe.

Real life has never worked that way and never will. In religious terms, self-absorption with money and power is all about loving self above God or neighbor. This psychology is directly contrary to the teachings of Jesus Christ and the law of God (Matthew 22:37-39; Deuteronomy 6:5; Leviticus 19:18) and, in fact, is a never-ending source of evil.

Single-minded pursuit of one’s selfish desires leads a person to damaging outcomes—distorted values, antisocial behavior, self-will, arrogance and often isolation, loneliness and self-destruction. These destructive values lie at the core of the dangerous “law of attraction” fad.

Medical science finds the claims of the movement ridiculous. Stephen Barrett, a retired psychiatrist who operates Quackwatch.com, a Web site devoted to exposing quackery and health fraud, says: “There is no evidence that thinking can modify disease other than occasional relaxation exercises. Thoughts have nothing to do with physics. They are talking about a concept of energy that cannot be measured.

“The energy involved in physics can be measured in a number of different ways,” Dr. Barrett notes. “There is nothing real about what they are talking about. They are talking about imaginary energy. The idea of a secret remedy is a classic quack claim.”

This is not merely harmless quackery, however. The impacts of The Secret on mental health can be seriously damaging.

It can foster abnormal and obsessive thinking. These can generate destructive emotional responses as life inevitably has its sustained trials and drawbacks. Taken to its logical conclusions, a person can develop a profound disconnect with reality.

The most prominent book in this marketing blitz, The Law of Attraction, explains that every negative experience, accident, mishap and influence in a person’s world are the product of his own thinking.

“Nothing merely shows up in your experience. You attract it—all of it. No exceptions … We must still explain that only you could have caused it, for no one else has the power to attract what comes to you but you. By focusing upon this unwanted thing, or the essence of it, you have created it by default” (p. 30).

Where do you think this most unscientific—some would say crazy—idea came from? Esther and Jerry Hicks, the authors of The Law of Attraction, have convinced their believers that their ideas came from a cluster of supernatural spirits collectively calling themselves “Abraham.”

The Hicks claim these spirits communicated the law of attraction to them through channeling—an abnormal or alternate state of mind by which some communicate with evil spirits. (This practice, incidentally, is condemned in the Bible in the strongest terms—see Deuteronomy 18:10-12 and Leviticus 20:27.)

In The Law of Attraction, these spirits have done a job worthy of the devil’s deceptions in the Garden of Eden.

Jews caused their own Holocaust and blacks their own slavery?

Let’s consider the claim that your thoughts cause all the good and all the evil in your life. If this idea is wrong even once, the entire idea unravels. It would show the law of attraction to be nothing more than a dangerous falsehood that lays the foundation to rationalize, and even justify, evil.

Consider. Following the logic of this idea, 6 million Jews would have brought extermination on themselves in the Holocaust because they attracted their own annihilation by their negative thoughts.

According to this idea, a four-year-old rape victim attracted lifelong trauma through wrong thinking.

According to this idea, the hospital patient given HIV-contaminated blood attracted AIDS by bad thoughts.

By the law of attraction, these people are the ultimate evildoers because they caused their own suffering through negative thoughts—even if they didn’t consciously think they had them.

In reality, all of these situations are not caused by negative thinking, but by external evil or chance events unrelated to the thinking of the victim.

If you apply this mode of analyzing human experience to history, you come to more ludicrous conclusions. The Romans must have thought better thoughts than all the nations they brutally murdered, pillaged and enslaved. For centuries each of the millions of black slaves must have deserved their bondage because of their negative thoughts. Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. must have deserved to be assassinated and the American colonists must have deserved “taxation without representation” because of their negative thinking.

The Secret turns social justice into an absurdity. Worse, the law of attraction reverses many of the great spiritual truths of the Bible: Abel deserved to be murdered by Cain for his bad thoughts; the Israelites deserved to be subject to slavery and the genocide of their newborn sons in Pharaoh’s Egypt; Jesus deserved His own crucifixion and His followers deserved to be murdered for believing in God’s forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

This is an abuser’s thinking, and it is evil. By this doctrine, the victims of evil and abuse are the cause of their own abuse. The logic is that if you are victimized, brutalized or oppressed, it’s your fault, not the oppressors. Two thousand years of the development of human rights are reversed by the perverse logic of the law of attraction. There is no need for legal protections against evil because evil is destined for those who end up suffering from it.

This thinking is unbalanced and narcissistic. Taken to extremes, it can be symptomatic of personality disorders if believers treat others by the logic flowing from the false premise.

It’s astonishing that so many leading figures in mass media are unable to discern the distortions of reality, even the dangers to mental health, lying at the heart of this bizarre doctrine that more and more resembles a cult religion.

Imagine what happens when believers in this idea begin to have negative things happen in their lives—as we all do. Will they open themselves up to enormously neurotic and abnormal perceptions about their own thinking, saying to themselves that they are not positive enough? This process can lead to a legion of psychological and mental disorders as the individuals disconnect life’s real experiences of ups and downs from objective thinking.

The ultimate bottom line in the movement is that all people should open themselves up to occult experiences like Esther and Jerry Hicks. This is a serious threat to the mental health of people.

Mainstreaming the occult

Practitioners of the New Age occult, such as Esther and Jerry Hicks and other channelers, deliberately suspend the critical thinking and judging capacity of the brain and empty their minds into a receptive trance. These psychics knowingly open themselves up to be used as mouthpieces by spirits.

Jerry Hicks said he and his wife learned to channel after being convinced of the existence of supernatural spirits through Ouija board messages.

Your Bible, however, says that such “familiar spirits” who speak through psychics are demons—fallen spirits who lie. The Bible also calls the person who channels them a witch or medium. During the Old Testament period, such a person who knowingly consorted with evil spirits was condemned to death.

The spirits calling themselves “Abraham”—actually a group of demons—want your mind to immediately absorb the point of view they express. Here is what “Abraham” says to the reader:

“It is always an interesting experience to explain to our physical friends those things that are of a Non-Physical nature, because everything that we offer to you must then be translated through the lens of your physical world. In other words, Esther receives our thoughts, like radio signals, at an unconscious level of her Being, and then translates them into physical words and concepts” (The Law of Attraction, p. 19).

The analogy of radio signals reminds many Bible students of Ephesians 2:2 where Satan is called “the prince of the power of the air.” His influence goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden where the serpent told Eve, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it [the tree of the knowledge of good and evil] your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil” (Genesis 3:4-5).

She was attracted to the fruit, seduced by the original version of the demonic law of attraction. There is a twisted logic at the foundation of the law of attraction. It is contrary to actual human experience and directly contradicts the statements of God, Jesus Christ, the prophets and the apostles in the Bible.

To believe the doctrines of the demons who “revealed” the law of attraction, you have to start by leaving your brain at the door, much as Eve did as she conversed with the serpent. It was a counterfeit and a lie. Adam and Eve did die. And so do all who sin—all of us. There is only one solution, one way out of death, and that remains a mystery to the world at large even after Jesus Christ proclaimed it.

The REAL secret—the mystery of the Kingdom

Almost 2,000 years ago, Jesus Christ brought His announcement of the Kingdom of God, creating a sensation with His ministry.

“Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel’” (Mark 1:14-15).

With spectacular miracles, He turned water to wine, fed thousands with only a few fish and loaves of bread, healed many of tragic illnesses, raised Lazarus from the dead and proclaimed that a new realm of existence is coming for humanity. If anyone in history has shown the way for people to have eternal life, it is Jesus Christ.

But He promised that the way to the Kingdom of God would be a secret, a mystery except to His disciples.
...
He told His disciples: “It has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given … Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand” (Matthew 13:11, 13).

He also said there would be many counterfeits, including religious teachers claiming to act in His name.

The basic premise of The Secret and The Law of Attraction is that you already have eternal life and will have everything you desire in this life without a need for conversion or obedience to the law of God. This constitutes a counterfeit religion and faith directly contradicting biblical truth.

Jesus Christ defined the thoughts and behavior necessary to enter the Kingdom of God and taught His disciples that there are distinct differences between good and evil, negating the premise of The Secret.

He condemned materialism, saying, “You cannot serve God and mammon” (Matthew 6:24). He said following Him is the only way to eternal life (John 11:25). Furthermore, He said of the dos and don’ts of the Bible, “If you want to enter into life, keep the commandments”
(Matthew 19:17).

Jesus did not say you can have anything you want if you want it badly enough since you are ultimately your own god. He did not say man automatically has eternal life.

Furthermore, the teachings and example of Jesus Christ provide the greatest possible repudiation of every idea of the law of attraction. He continuously taught against evil. He labeled evil what it was—the rotten fruit of the ways of Satan, a liar and murderer from the beginning (John 8:44).

Jesus said that we should seek first God’s Kingdom and His righteous way of living and that all of our needs will then be ultimately taken care of (Matthew 6:33).

There is a reason “wishful thinking” means a focus on how we want things to be that is unrealistic.

Don’t be caught up in false hopes and spiritually perverted solutions that lead down hopeless paths.

Serve the living and all-powerful God. Pray to Him in faith and live your life according to His will. Then He will ultimately fulfill your needs and desires—beyond your wildest wishes and imaginings!

Posts above are from the United Church of God.

What do they teach, practice and believe?

The United Church of God (UCG), based in Ohio, United States, holds to doctrines that conflict with biblical Christianity. The United Church of God is faithful to the doctrines of the late Herbert W. Armstrong, the charismatic and controlling leader of the Worldwide Church of God.

Armstrong believed that he was an end times apostle proclaiming the soon-coming “Kingdom of God.” The Worldwide Church of God modified its teaching after Armstrong’s death, prompting members faithful to Armstrongism to split off and form their own organizations. The United Church of God, founded in 1995, is one of those offshoots. The UCG is more moderate than original Armstrongism, having jettisoned some of the more eccentric teachings such as the bans on celebrating birthdays and wearing makeup.

RayB said...

The United Church of God teaches that only groups similar to their own comprise the true church and that all other “churches” are satanic counterfeits. Members of the UCG are seen as a select group specially chosen by God to become “first-fruits”—a future group of “god-beings” and “kings and priests” in the earthly “Kingdom of God.”

The sign of being part of God’s chosen people is Sabbath-keeping and obedience to parts of the Mosaic Law. Members must pay tithes and keep the seven annual festivals given to ancient Israel. They also observe Old Testament laws governing “unclean” food and refuse to participate in the military.

The United Church of God and other groups with roots in Armstrongism will not celebrate Christmas because they believe the holiday is pagan in origin.

Other United Church of God beliefs that counter the Bible include a rejection of the Trinity (the Holy Spirit is the impersonal expression of God’s power), a false view of Christ (Jesus and God are two different “divine beings”), and a works-based salvation (water baptism and Law-keeping are required to be saved).

The false doctrine of the United Church of God and its ties to the cult of Armstrongism make the UCG an organization to be avoided.

WARNING:

The post from Anonymous @ 2:24 PM includes a link to a PDF book entitled: "The Occult Explosion - What Does it Mean?"

Deceptively, the book's author does not appear on the cover or inside of the book. Could it be that it doesn't because the author is none other than the cult's founder, HERBERT W. ARMSTRONG?

Armstrong "prophesied" so many false events that even his followers had to discredit him. Armstrong also claimed that he was a special "chosen, end times apostle," chosen by "god himself." It was a "god" alright, but it was a "god' from the dark side !

Notice how 'Mr. Bible Truth (aka Martin Luther's Doctrines Right Or Wrong)' DOESN'T refute what the articles, books and videos say but tries to discourage the reading/viewing of them in the first place?

He's great at 'sounding the alarm' on all beliefs that don't jibe with his own, isn't he?

Here's an idea that he will absolutely HATE: Make your OWN mind up as to their merits (or lack thereof) by actually READING/VIEWING them instead of trusting a MAN (namely HIM)!

So TAKE RayB's previously given advice...

"Take a little time to investigate what [the Church Of God] teaches"!

...which advice he WON'T take himself EXCEPT to look at what its DETRACTORS say!

Brilliant, intellectually honest methodology!

Imagine such a sound philosophy being used in the first century:

"Jesus Christ?!? Hah! Just take a little time to investigate what he teaches, do what I do and ASK THE PHARISEES!".

Isn't it interesting that over and over and over again ... this person continues to post links to his United Church of God (Armstongism) sites?

Aside from denying the Trinity in which they claim that the Holy Spirit is not a person, but a "spiritual force," they also claim that Jesus and God the Father are TWO SEPARATE DEITIES !

They also proclaim that if YOU believe in the Biblical doctrine of the Trinity, YOU are believing in and worshipping Satan, because Satan created the "Trinity doctrine" as a hoax in order to insert himself as the 3rd. member of the Trinity.

Don't be fooled for one single second .... this is a VERY clever, deceptive group of people that are out to ensnare you and make you into a follower of their false religion.

Anonymous @ 5:37 PM has over and over and over again posted links to the United Church of God author and teacher
W. F. DANKENBRING's writings, including entire PDF books.

He now attempts to distance himself from him. Why? Because I have exposed some of his far out, false teachings.

This type of statement is so typical of the leading figures of virtually every cult that ever existed:

Here is just tidbit that Dankenbring claimed about himself: "... it is a fact that God in heaven has revealed to me the meaning of astounding Biblical prophecies that He has revealed to no other man on the face of this earth!"

(Dankenbring WF. ESCAPE FROM LAODICEA! Circa 1989. http://www.triumphpro.com/laodicea_escape.htm, January 22, 2004).

As I have stated before, I have spent many hours witnessing to Jehovah Witnesses over the past 35+ years.

One of the key teachings in their denial of Jesus Christ being God is their claim that Jesus is Michael the Arch Angel.

Well lo and behold! Who else claims that? None other than our United Church of God author and teacher, W. F DANKENBRING:

Jesus was an angel

From the article “Who Is the Archangel Michael?,” in which Mr. Dankenbring presents what he sees as scriptural evidence that Michael is Jesus.

“I show the amazing relationships and statements in the Old and New Testaments that, first of all, Christ, or the Logos, was a created being who was always under the authority of the Father, as He Himself said, ‘The Father is greater than I,’ ” Mr. Dankenbring told THE JOURNAL in an interview conducted by E-mail. When the end comes, Jesus- Michael “will deliver up the Kingdom to the Father and Himself be subject to or under the authority of the Father”...

Mr. Dankenbring said he also noticed that Michael is a “prince” of God, citing Daniel 10:21, and “Michael is the one who stands watch over the sons of your people, Israel.” “More and more,” he continued, “it sounded like another of the many names of Christ Himself...

(Overton, Mac. Triumph founder speaks his mind on churches’ doctrines. The Journal: News of the Churches of God. November 30, 2006, p.1).

NOTE: this is just another example to illustrate that there are people that "profess" the NAME of Christ, while denying the TRUE Christ of the Scriptures.

Over and over and over again, W. F. DANKENBRING, not unlike the founder, Herbert W. Armstrong, made dozens of "prophetic" statements regarding the end times. ALL of these (just like Herbert W. Armstrong) have been proven to be false.

DANKENBRING's specialty was in predicting end times events based upon Old Testament feast days, while tying them in with current events. For example:

W. F. DANKERNBRING wrote:

"If we count 6000 years from 3997 B.C., we come to 2004 A.D. Could this be the beginning of Daniel’s 70th week – the last “week of years” before the coming of the Messiah? In other words, 2004 plus 7 equals 2011. If we add one more year as the “Day of the Lord,” the day of God’s direct intervention to punish mankind, culminating in the return of the Messiah, then this would pinpoint His SECOND coming as the year 2012 (2011 plus 1). The Year 2012 Will the Messiah return in the year 2012? Of course, we don’t know for sure. But consider this: According to the ancient Maya calendar, the end of the fifth world age will occur in the year 2012!...The 69th Jubilee would therefore occur in the year 2012-2013 A.D. That is just ten years from now! Remember this passage from the Talmud, the words of Elijah the prophet! He stated quite clearly that the Messiah the Son of David will come ON THE LAST JUBILEE! Just something to think about! " (Dankenbring WF. Daniel’s 70 Weeks Prophecy PROVES Jesus Is the MESSIAH! Circa 2003. http://www.triumphpro.com/daniel_s_70_weeks_prophecy.htm, January 29, 2004).

NOTE: DANKENBRING utilizes the MAYAN Calendar along with the Babylonian Talmud (ancient occult Kabbalah) in order to reason his way to his prophetic conclusions, which have ALWAYS been proven, in time, to be FALSE.

Jesus Most Likely to Return By 1998?

W. F. DANKENBRING wrote:

"Jesus Christ, the Messiah, is coming -- most likely, according to all to history and chrnological {sic} evidence -- within the NEXT EIGHT YEARS!" (Dankenbring WF. What Can We Do To Help Spread the Gospel? Prophecy Flash; 4(1):13, March 1990).

NOTE: These false prophets all have a long history of false predictions. Because of their incredibly poor track record, they like to insert phrases such as "most likely." By doing so, they can be TOTALLY wrong and yet still maintain credibility with their duped followers.

RayB,

In my childhood, my parents had metal canisters full of powdered milk, wheat, honey, dates and olive oil. They were planning to take this food with them to the caves when it was time. The time never came. My mother made some breakfast cereal with the wheat. The honey got crystallized. We used to scoop it out with a spoon and eat it on pancakes. The dates got eaten but many of them molded. I think all the olive oil got used up. The metal canisters eventually rusted. It's kind of funny they thought they needed what they must have imagined to be biblical type survival food instead of peanut butter and tuna and canned soup, or even rice and beans. I don't remember what became of the nasty powdered milk.

Now, don't get me wrong; it's a good idea to have some food and water on hand just in case. Power could go out, weather events could happen, and so on and so forth. It's just weird they believed with such perfect faith that Herbert Armstrong really was the last prophet.

Lest you think they were worse than they really were, at least they believed that most sinners would get another chance after the Resurrection, in which they would be able to rule under Jesus in His Kingdom on Earth. They said it would all be different for 1,000 years, and if people were to start to sin, other people like them would stop them kind of like some people imagine an angel might do. In that way all except the worst sinners would get another chance, but the worst ones of all would have to burn forever in the Lake of Fire. Those would be the ones who were not willing to repent, even after help from them and people like them.

J,

I have no "argument" with the individuals that follow these false religions .... I thoroughly feel a sense of sorrow for them because there is a better way, as in 'the truth will set you free.' My argument is ALWAYS against the false teachings of various religious systems, AND, with the hierarchy that proclaims these falsehoods.

Not too long ago, there was a false teacher by the name of Harold Camping that had a very large following. His radio programs (including short wave) reached audiences all over the world. He very specifically, for several years, proclaimed a date as the "day of the rapture." MANY of his followers laughed at people that attempted to reason with them. They laughed too when people attempted to Biblically warn them against date setting. Believing the end was near, MANY gave away all of their earthly possessions as the "day" approached. Needless to say, the day came and went, along with all of their earthly security. What may be even worse, predictably, their 'faith' was lost as well.

This is the fruit of false religion. It is far more destructive than many people think, because it typically ends by making a ship wreck of people. It also puts them on a wrong path that leads them away from the truth of Scripture that reveals the 'way, the truth and the life.'

For many years, I have personally known people that have put their faith and trust in the false doctrine of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture. Going back to the 1970s, many were convinced that we are living in the very last days. One couple in particular comes to mind; they always lived way beyond their means, spending the substance of their labors with reckless abandon, to the extent that I always thought they had a lot of money. They didn't. They spent it all. They ended up having a very poor retirement because they had virtually no savings (I was told this by the husband). Many years ago, I attempted to reason with them regarding the "rapture, etc." I was scoffed at. They are both gone now, and I occasionally think of them and how much better their last decade of life would have been had they not falsely believed that the "rapture was just around the corner."

Beliefs have consequences. Some are limited to the damage done in this life. Others that are far more serious and carry with them ramifications for eternity to come.

"It is better to trust in the LORD, than to put confidence in man ..." Psalm 118: 8

To: All

FYI: I have no 'dog in the fight' on these topics, so to speak, because I only really care about what the CORRECT Bible doctrines are. That I mainly use COG materials is simply a reflection of this:

~A COMPARISON~

Jesus And The Apostles (JATA)

JATA: KEPT The Commandments
JATA: KEPT the 7th Day Sabbath
JATA: KEPT The Annual Holy Days - Passover, Days Of Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, Feast Of Trumpets, Day Of Atonement, Feast Of Tabernacles, The Last Great Day.
JATA: Had Baptism By Immersion
JATA: Laying On Of Hands
JATA: KEPT God's Food Laws
Etc.

Church Of God (COG)

COG: KEEPS The Commandments
COG: KEEPS the 7th Day Sabbath
COG: KEEPS The Annual Holy Days - Passover, Days Of Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, Feast Of Trumpets, Day Of Atonement, Feast Of Tabernacles, The Last Great Day.
COG: Has Baptism By Immersion
COG: Laying On Of Hands
COG: KEEPS God's Food Laws
Etc.

If RayB or Craig or J or Christine or Constance or Paul or Dan Bryan or WHOMEVER should happen to show significantly better understanding on one or more Bible doctrines than the Church Of God branches that I am familiar with: GREAT!

I wish that there had been a better and more numerous choice of groups that were as closely aligned with Bible doctrines than the WWCG (Could've done without leaders who were as sexually immoral as the two Armstrongs for one thing!) but there wasn't at the time, very unfortunately.

As an example: One could go to, say, 'The Assemblies Of Yahweh' IF you wanted to be (if male) EVER-bearded and NEVER say 'God', etc.

(You simply HAVE to do the best you can with what you are given to work with!)

By the way WFD, as I've already alluded to, was NOT part of UCG: He was with (and 1995 founder of) "Triumph Prophetic Ministries (Church of God)".

And as far as "Armstrongism" goes, it is apparently actually a disease that makes some want to make ill-considered 'prophecies' OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

It was funny to see WFD rightfully condemn HWA's numerous, recklessly irresponsible statements in that area THEN HE DOES TOO CLOSE TO THE SAME THING HIMSELF! And NOT JUST HIM: I remember listening to a Global Church Of God broadcast in about 1994 in which its head, Roderick C. Meredith stated that world events would start coming to a head "in the next few years!" To me, that translated to: by 1997.

I put my head in my hands.

Sometimes you have to laugh.

Have a good night! LOL

Dahlheimer,
Nobody cares. If you went into more detail and made even more passionate defense of your idolatry, then maybe... nobody would care then either.
Or maybe if you said less and made it more condensed like poetry...I'm sure that still, no one would care.
Perhaps if you gave more references to your sources of your beliefs; ...nah, no one would take you seriously here. That's because you're full of New Age Baloney, and that's exactly what Constance has exposed in her books, and that's why the people who frequent her blog come here.
I'm pretty sure that you have gained exactly zero credibility here in all your long, drawn out New Age bloviating which you feel the need to place in the comments section of every new posting.
Personally I wish you'd simply Pachamama your bags and and leave this blog alone, but then I guess the point is that Constance is not afraid of anyone's comments, and certainly not yours.
It seems ridiculous though. Would you go to a Jewish Synagogue and stand up and rail against the Jews and give high praise to
Neo Nazis? Would you go into an African American congregation and stand up and extol your perceived virtues of White Supremacy?

Anonymous 9:01 PM,

Do you regard the keeping of the sabbath and the ancient Hebrew holy days as being important for salvation?

Herbert Armstrong taught that when Jesus returned for His true church, He would recognize her by the keeping of the sabbath and the holy days. Doesn't this make conformity with ancient Hebrew law ways, of greater importance than the working of the Holy Spirit inside the temple of God -- which we are told is each individual who is a member of the spiritual church?

On the other hand, if we are really living in the end times, and we are to expect people to convert from Judaism to Christianity, those who convert from Judaism to Christianity are likely to be similar, just as they were in the days of the early church.

But this is the question I have. Wasn't this issue dealt with by the Apostle Paul in the very early church? Didn't he say that it's not a requirement for Gentiles to do what you are doing?

I am just wondering what significance you place on it or if you consider it to be optional, as the Apostle Paul apparently considered it?

You've made a lot of good points ... all based upon sound Biblical NEW TESTAMENT teachings.

J,

I'm curious about the meaning of your statement below. Could you clarify the meaning of this?

"Lest you think they were worse than they really were, at least they believed that most sinners would get another chance after the Resurrection, in which they would be able to rule under Jesus in His Kingdom on Earth."

J said...

RayB,

I recall my parents telling me in my childhood that every person who ever died would be resurrected and would get another chance. They didn't believe in heaven or hell. And they believed that an elect few in the Worldwide Church of God would rule with Jesus after his Second Coming.

What I meant was that at least they didn't think everybody who ever lived outside of the teachings of the Worldwide Church of God would be damned to hell. But I meant that a little bit ironically and sarcastically, because I still find it appalling that they thought if they joined the Worldwide Church of God they would become trained to rule over most of the rest of the human race.

Also I recall them teaching that the reason why Satan hates human beings is because he knows that they are intended to become eventually just like God and thus higher than angels, and this is the reason why Satan became jealous of them.

I recall them telling me in my childhood that Satan created the dinosaurs and that the wars of the angels and demons created craters on Earth, the moon and other planets because the demons and angels were throwing asteroids at each other when they fought.

I think a folklore must have built up among church members without becoming official doctrine, because when I looked it up, I couldn't find anything about it. But I did find this, which details beliefs about the resurrection.

https://hwarmstrong.com/armstrongism.htm

Keep in mind that Armstrongism has many splinter groups, and all the splinter groups don't necessarily believe every point of the original Armstrong doctrines.

I'm just curious as to why you left out The Feast of Firstfruits in both of your lists of Holy days, and also, what is the Last Great Day, because I can't find it in the Bible?
Also the Apostles and Jesus also observed the Dedication Day, which they now call Hannukah.
If you only care about the CORRECT doctrines, why not read the Bible for yourself?

THE LAST GREAT DAY

"The Festival—which goes unnamed in the Old Testament, beyond being called “the eighth day” (Leviticus 23:36, 39; 2 Chronicles 7:9)—takes its name in the Church...as the Apostle John reports:

"On THE LAST day, that GREAT DAY of the feast" (John 7:37)

Also the Apostles and Jesus also observed the Dedication Day, which they now call Hannukah.

•Reply:

"Many Jews today celebrate Hanukkah (which means 'dedication'), also known as the Festival of Lights.

"While IT IS NOT A FESTIVAL COMMANDED IN THE BIBLE OR ONE THAT GOD EXPECTS CHRISTIANS TO OBSERVE, since the days of the Maccabees many Jews have observed the Feast of Dedication as a national celebration of deliverance from the oppression of the tyrant King Antiochus. As July 4 is the day Americans celebrate the independence of their nation, Hanukkah is a time when many Jews celebrate their independence and deliverance.

"By the time of Christ, the Jews were again a subject people—this time to the Romans—and they were again looking for a leader, the Messiah, to deliver them. And it was during this very festival that the Jewish leaders asked Jesus if He was that promised Deliverer!

"Notice John 10:22-28: “Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter. And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon’s porch. Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, ‘How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.’ Jesus answered them, ‘I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me. But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.’”

"Jesus pointed them toward a much greater deliverance than that of Judas Maccabeus! It wasn’t the answer the people wanted to hear, but it was the answer they needed to hear. Jesus Christ would deliver His sheep, those who would listen to Him and obey Him, not from Rome, but from the slavery of sin and death. He would lead them to eternal life in the Kingdom of God!

"What Judas Maccabeus did for the Jews, Jesus Christ will do for the whole world when He returns a second time, delivering humanity from an evil ruler and from sin itself!"

BREAKING: Military to jam GPS signals across East Coast through Jan. 24th; FBI asserting imminent domain to seize night vision devices from distributors

01/17/2020
By Mike Adams

In case you didn’t fully realize that something big is about to take place in America, file these two facts in your brain:

Fact #1: The U.S. military, Carrier Strike Group Four (CSG4), is jamming GPS signals from Jan 16th – 24th, which may overlap the planned deep state false flag event in Richmond, Virginia. Richmond is just at the margins of the range of the GPS jamming exercise map released by the military (see below). The epicenter of the so-called “exercise” is off the coast of Georgia. The official FAA announcement claims no jamming will take place on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday next week, but we don’t trust the FAA, so your mileage may vary. Remember, too, that 90% of the American population below the age of 30 has never read a paper map and can’t use a compass.

The GPS jamming exercise continues through Jan. 24th and effects South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Eastern Tennessee, Alabama and all of Florida. The AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) has posted details of the warning here.

The FAA has also issued a flight advisory warning aircraft pilots that GPS will fail for “several hours each day” during this military jamming exercise. See:

www.FAAsafety.gov/files/notices/2020/Jan/CSG4_20-01_GPS_Flight_Advisory.pdf

Map of the Carrier Strike Group Four GPS testing
...
Here are the areas that will be impacted:
...
Note that this is the U.S. military testing GPS jamming capabilities in anticipation of an event that would require such jamming (obviously). Consider the convergence of events now shaping up:

– The impeachment trial of President Trump by the U.S. Senate, presided over by the treasonous sellout SCOTUS Justice Roberts, who already sold out America to Obama under the wildly unconstitutional “Obamacare” decision years ago.

– The Jan. 20th “Lobby Day” event in Richmond, Virginia, where deep state operatives are absolutely trying to put together a false flag event to cause violence and blame gun owners.

– The Mysterious drone flights over Colorado, Kansas and Nebraska, recently followed up by an emergency meeting with the Kansas legislature on a military base, where they were briefed about something “HORRIFIC” and “LIFE ALTERING.”

– The FBI’s sudden attempts to confiscate high-end night vision tubes from distributors, indicating an emergency need for night vision capabilities in an agency led by a treasonous traitor (Chris Wray) and that has a long history of planning and carrying out terrorism plots across America, according to the New York Times and the Kansas City Star.

FBI invokes “imminent domain” to seize high-end night vision tubes

Fact #2: The FBI is now claiming “imminent domain” to essentially seize high-end night vision tubes (that power night vision goggles) from distributors in the United States. This indicates the FBI has an emergency effort under way to acquire large numbers of night vision devices in anticipation of some urgent event which will take place at night (possibly another FBI false flag operation like Oklahoma City or the 1993 attempted World Trade Center bombing which was entirely masterminded by the FBI).

Anonymous said...

As Dave Hodges is reporting from The Commonsense Show, Bob Griswold from ReadyMadeResources.com relates a shocking event where he had already locked in the purchase of 70 night vision tubes from his distributor, and had those tubes invoiced and committed. Within hours, the FBI claimed imminent domain over the tubes, effectively “seizing” them from Ready Made Resources before they could even be shipped.

We reviewed a letter written to RMR by their distributor, confirming that the government preempted the order to RMR and claimed they had ownership over the gear because they were the government.

An hour ago, I spoke with Griswold on the phone to confirm the situation, and he told me he thought there were, “No more than 200 high-end night vision devices remaining in the entire country.” (This excludes the crappy gen 1 and gen 2 night vision devices, which nobody wants anyway.)

I’m told that inventory units are flying off the shelves and will be gone everywhere in the next 1-2 business days. Yes, there is a run on night vision in America, happening right now.

Here’s the relevant question: What is the FBI planning that would require hundreds of night vision devices?

Answer: Probably another bombing, mass shooting, mass casualty event or some other terrorism flashpoint that the FBI is famous for causing. Just ask the church members of Waco, Texas… or not, since they’re all DEAD, thanks to the FBI and ATF.

Earlier this week, Alex Jones declared on his broadcast that the deep state was going to “attempt to assassinate Trump next week.” Could this military exercise, and the FBI night vision devices, and the drones scanning the Midwest all be related?

Most likely, yes.

Listen to my urgent false flag warning podcast which covers the possibility of deliberate violence being staged for Monday, Jan. 20th, in Richmond, Virginia:

Brighteon.com/9c32473d-2716-43ea-acd4-03088f4f49d0

The deep state is igniting TOTAL WAR against America

Get prepared, America.

The deep state is about to unleash total war against us all.

They plan to kill the President, criminalize the Second Amendment, destroy the First Amendment, crash the economy, start race riots and basically plunge the country into nationwide chaos.

It’s long past time to just arrest all these left-wing traitors and throw them in prison, as All News Pipeline correctly reports:

“It’s time Democrats are charged with treason and sedition and held accountable for their high crimes upon America.”

Elon Musk Claims One Million Humans Could Live on Mars in 50 Years

paul said...

Anon @9:01
I'm sorry if I sounded sarcastic. Reading it back now I agree that I sounded sarcastic and even self righteous. Stupid.
I am sorry. My "problem" with anonymous commenters goes way back, and it's pointless, and yes, My problem.
But I think we agree that what the world calls holidays, which of course comes from the word Holy days, is in almost every case anything but holy days. I mean; New Years, Valentines, Presidents Day, Independence Day, Halloween, even Thanksgiving and Christmas, are all man made observances and nowhere to be found in the Bible. Halloween even has the distinction of being deliberately anti Christian. For that matter so are the names of days of the week and the months of the year all based on pagan "gods", which are not gods but simply ancient warriors and rulers, humans, who lived and died, and became immortalized by people.
But when you (or someone) says that Firstfruits is the same as Pentecost, you're just wrong.
Pentecost lasts five weeks (and a day), which equals fifty days; hence the name.
First fruits runs concurrently with Passover and Unleavened Bread, but it is its' own Holy Day.
The thing is: all seven of the Old Testament Holy Days have a meaning that transcends what anyone might think. They were all observances for the children of Israel every year and they all had a meaning and a remembrance of the Lord's mighty dealings with his chosen people. They were all Feasts, not fasts. They were celebrations, yet they were solemn celebrations.
The first four of the seven take place in the spring and the last three are Autumn Feasts.
But here's what blows my mind every time I think about it. Those first four Feasts are all "fulfilled", exemplified, typified and lived-out in the life of Jesus Christ when he incarnated on earth and in particular when he gave his life for our sins.
HE IS the Passover lamb; when he shed his blood and died for the sins of many.
HE IS the Unleavened Bread of Life like the unleavened bread that the Israelites placed in the pockets of their cloaks as they fled Egypt. He was "hidden" in a pocket of the earth (a rich man's tomb) for three days and nights, until he arose from the dead.
HE IS the "Firstfruits of a new creation"; when he arose from the dead in a body that defies our attempts to describe or explain.
HE IS our Pentecost. He lived and walked and talked with his disciples for ten days before he went back to his father in heaven, having promised them the Comforter, which came exactly forty days later in an upper room, to people from many different lands.
(The Day that we Christians call Pentecost was a day that, among other things, reversed the scattering of peoples and the confusing of their tongues, or languages, at the Tower of Babel.)
These four Feast days were all fulfilled in the Springtime and the early first half of Jesus' mission.
The second half of his mission; Trumpets, Atonement and Tabernacles will be fulfilled when he returns.
In other words, IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS. Those holy days were for Israel to consider God's mighty power to save, and that He had a Savior, Messiah, for them and for the whole world!

Christine Erikson (aka Justina) said...

anti trinity article superficial, half baked, biblically illiterate, and historically ignorant trash, and The Trinity, a short term to describe a lot of material, does NOT depend on the disupted verse in John's letter.

The Trinity IS displayed in these verses.

Isa. 48:16 and context (verses before and after); Luke3:21,22
Matt. 28:19. the equality of persons of the Trinity is equality of nature not necessarily of rank or authority. all Three are divine.

All formalizing of doctrine was NEVER its creation but its defense against upstarts who challenged what was taken for granted received from the Apostles.

JATA COG comparison Col. 2:16 lists sabbaths and holy days and new moons among things superceded in Christ, Who they pointed to. all observation of Mosaic Holy Days by Christ and the Apostles was BEFORE the crucifixion which ended the old covenant, and the Resurrection. Keeping the food laws are along with forbidding to marry what Paul specified were "doctrines of demons." I Tim. 4:1-3

Westcott's garbage about Christ leading us to "see God in Him," which sounds new agey, is false. He explained why He taught in parables and obscurely, so that only those God chose to let see Christ for Who He is would do so at the time, lest seeing they should see and hearing they should hear and repent.

Craig's efforts to educate me were not kind or whatever, merely an intolerable wallow in longwinded boringness most of which I didn't bother to read but skim, I had already refuted the positions anyway and he twice would ignore these and go on as if I hadn't written them and as if his westcott preening posturing blathering sonovabitch writer put him in a trance he expected me to fall into also. nah. I just shit can it.

"As to the claim that I believe Jesus rose only "spiritually" is totally false .... as in TOTALLY FALSE. The Lord's body was risen, a fact that I have never even questioned or doubted! "

then how do you explain saying "Jesus Christ is no longer the "God-man." That was only temporal. He is now fully God without the flesh, which was destroyed on the cross. Craig heretically believes that Christ continues "through eternity" with an "attached human nature/flesh." THIS IS A CLEAR diminishing of Christ's DEITY! ". that's a hell of a lot of verbiage to be a mere misstatement, it is very explicit.

as for my making outrageous false accusations and needing to repent of my behavior, take a look in the mirror. weren't you one of those who falsely claimed to have seen an posted allegedly my advertising psychic services?

Craig The Word is not the divine NATURE He is the second divine PERSON nature is what, person is who. that PERSON at first had strictly a divine nature, then added a human nature to that later, but remained the same person.

"To place Jesus into John 1:1 is to push back the Incarnation and to defy both Scripture and logic," BULLSHIT. the Word is the same person as Jesus God-man is a description of nature not person. whatever you call Him, The Word or Jesus it is the same person. Jesus the Word became Jesus the God-man. you can call Him Jesus before the incarnation without pushing the incarnation back in time, because this is the same PERSON. you seem to be confusing person and nature. the Word is not the divine nature, the Word IS divine and therefore has the divine nature. Person is who, nature is what. you can indeed say the Word later called Jesus was with God and Jesus the Word became flesh

"Jesus Christ" is like a throne name added to a man who became pharoah additional to his original name or names. its still the same guy. the God-man is a combined two natures, not a new separate person. you sound a bit nestorian and monophysite at the same time.

you are nitpicking in a way that sounds confusing and NESTORIAN and relies on a confusion between nature and person which is itself the basis of all christological heresies.

NOTE: This is "Anonymous's response to my posts that prove that W. F. DANKENBRING was guilty, just as Herbert W. Armstrong was, of providing numerous false prophesies concerning end times events. "Anonymous" has linked, on numerous occasions, the works of both DANKENBRING and ARMSTRONG. The following is his response to my posts:

"By the way WFD (W. F. DANKENBRING), as I've already alluded to, was NOT part of UCG: He was with (and 1995 founder of) "Triumph Prophetic Ministries (Church of God)".

"And as far as "Armstrongism" goes, it is apparently actually a disease that makes some want to make ill-considered 'prophecies' OVER AND OVER AGAIN."

"It was funny to see WFD (i.e., W. F. DANKENBRING) rightfully condemn HWA's (i.e., Herbert W. Armstrong) numerous, recklessly irresponsible statements in that area THEN HE DOES TOO CLOSE TO THE SAME THING HIMSELF! And NOT JUST HIM: I remember listening to a Global Church Of God broadcast in about 1994 in which its head, Roderick C. Meredith stated that world events would start coming to a head "in the next few years!" To me, that translated to: by 1997. "

Anonymous,

This is no laughing matter. False prophets were stoned to death in Old Testament times. Both DANKENBRING and ARMSTRONG would have suffered that fate had they lived back then. If you are going to believe according to mandates from the Old Covenant (dietary laws, keeping feast days, sabbath, tithing, obedience to the law, etc.), shouldn't stoning of false prophets also be practiced as well?

"Westcott's garbage about Christ leading us to "see God in Him," which sounds new agey, is false. He explained why He taught in parables and obscurely, so that only those God chose to let see Christ for Who He is would do so at the time, lest seeing they should see and hearing they should hear and repent."

That does not qualify as new agey, Christine.

Jesus was at times more direct, in words, but often more in His works (John 10:38), so many times He spoke figuratively for the reason you state, but is a grander plan than you are grasping. Because God wants us all to come to faith in the Son, but certainly not all will choose to, so no one will be able to say God's appeal to win their hearts and minds was not for them. People really do know what (Who) they are rejecting, like Esau despised his birthright for a bowl of beans. For His part, God is not willing that any should perish, so the call to be saved is universal, but not all will answer affirmative to His call so that, in that sense then, becomes exclusive. That is our part, and judgment will fall on those who reject His offer of Jesus as the perfect sacrifice and payment for their shortfall (sin).

God, in advance, knows those that are His. So He cast truth as light before men (Jesus was veiled in flesh that did obscure the brightness of His Deity in it's full glory) that they may be drawn to light from the darkness, to arrive at understanding by the Holy Spirit, whose job is to make the Lord Jesus known to us in the deep parts of what it is to be human, beyond man's intellect, to go deeper within the heart of people at the seat of their very being, to the spirit of man, the seat of the will. John 1:13-14 shows this to us. Beyond, emotion, beyond logic, beyond our (trying but still failing) attempts at goodness (which is self- righteousness and still falls short) because we stand in need of His Righteousness instead...beyond any flesh of the mind, soul, and body, and speaks to the core of persons made in the image of God, in order that faith may come. The natural man cannot receive the things of God (1 Cor 2:14), and God has no desire to "bulldoze" His way into a life. His is an appeal..if, the very important if..any man be My disciple...

Men employ many ways to loudly advertise their "goods".
God's ways are not the ways of men. He is kind and very wise. And He is just.

You should try that approach Christine, not the browbeat, graceless, methods you use.

Well, that's an incorrectly premised question. We have the New Testament PLUS the Old Testament, NOT either one at the EXCLUSION of the other. Of course, Jesus famously said that "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone". (John 8:7)

https://biblehub.com/john/8-7.htm

And we had bad situations with them making numerous recklessly 'prophecies' but humor can get us through many bad situations better than without it.

Although it is HIGHLY regrettable that they repeatedly and foolishly made ill-considered 'prophecies', their doing that unchallenged, by the way, highlights the importance of what you were concerned about, and that is cults or I'll narrow that down to more specifically say here cultish BEHAVIORS. If an Armstrong or a Dankenbring or a Meredith or WHOEVER in WHATEVER Church, Denomination or group is thusly so far 'out of line' that they should be confronted about it they need to ALREADY have been in/be in a type of organizational structure of accountability that allows for them to be confronted about it WITHOUT PROBLEM. I don't think it's too far a stretch to say that lack of accountability is ENDEMIC in all-too-many churches and secular organizations in GENERAL and wrongs continue because the leaders aren't called to account strongly enough or often enough.

And to address your question more specifically: Armstrong and Dankenbring should've had their ears pinned back (at the LEAST) over their repeated reckless 'prophecies'!

Have a good day.

It's so funny when religious leaders make "numerous reckless prophecies." I mean, you just have to laugh!

Isn't it nice that we can laugh off such trivialities? I mean, why take these things seriously? Who cares that they were dead wrong? "He that is without sin cast the first stone" should cover it ... right?

After rolling on the floor with laughter, unfortunately a serious thought crept into my mind; can these people be trusted? I mean, if they are SO laughingly wrong and "reckless" on so many "prophecies," could they possibly be wrong on their other proclamations as well?

On another serious note: you have posted numerous links to the writings of these false prophets. You are responsible for those posts along with the CONTENT contained in those links. My two cents: all true Christians believe that faith without works is dead. Some emphasize human effort in those works. Others believe the works to be the fruit of the spirit. Personally, I am a "synergist". I think we need to cooperate with the Holy Spirit, and we are not supposed to be the kind of bride who says (as my friend claims an Alabama friend of hers says about her marriage), "Oh, he just does everything for me!"

In practice, if not in theory, I think most true Christians of whatever denomination are actually synergists.

I admit I do feel confused when I see a plaque on a pastor's wall that says, "Grace, Not Perfection" and then learn that he tried to knowingly sell me his house with a very moldy attic that was not disclosed in the seller's disclosure. I don't know his heart; only God does.

I'm still figuring it all out, but I reject hardcore Calvinism. The theology of the Orthodox Church seems balanced from what I can tell so far. God is kind but He can predict what we will do, although He hopes we will make a different choice. He lets us get some ramifications and then intervenes when time's up. This seems a little different than saying that He pre-ordained everybody who would be saved and every evil thing that would happen.

Lots of issues here, but I agree with RayB about the basic hallmarks of cults that give people lots of rules that they can never live up to and will always feel shame and fear about falling short; but then when they think they do live up to it, it makes them judgemental and mean to the others outside their cult, too.

Nobody ever rises above their concept of God, and if God is viewed as a harsh task master, it makes his self proclaimed representatives oppressive, and their oppressiveness in a great many cults is very well documented.

Personally, I found the discussion regarding the doctrine of the "Trinity" and Craig's unique concept of the "Binity" (that's a new one) between the Armstrong promoter and Craig fascinating ! RayB,

"Binity" is hardly new terminology. Asking another to more fully express his/her view provides a way to determine what they actually believe. This, then, can help the one asking to criticize the position fairly, as opposed to erecting a straw man to tear down. Since you have a history of misquoting and misrepresenting others, I thought it only fair to gain a better understanding of the position before I offered critique.

Binitarianism is a thing. You may disagree with it. I may disagree with it. But it's a belief held by some throughout the centuries, and, arguably, by early Christ-followers:

As regards Westcott’s statement He never speaks of Himself directly as God (comp. 5:18), but the aim of His revelation was to lead men to see God in Him, this most certainly CAN be read as new agey. That is if the reader interprets “in Him” as “within Him”. A very good way to determine what Westcott meant was to provide more context for his words. The larger context reveals that it was not meant in any sort of new agey way. The author was commenting on John 20:28 and Thomas’ confession:

And Thomas...My Lord and my God The words are beyond question addressed to Christ (saith unto him), and cannot but be understood as a confession of belief as to His Person…expressed in the form of an impassioned address. The discipline of self-questioning, followed by the revelation of tender compassion and divine knowledge, enabled St Thomas to rise to the loftiest view of the Lord given in the Gospels. His sublime, instantaneous confession, won from doubt, closes historically the progress of faith which St John traces. At first (John 1:1) the Evangelist declared his own faith: at the end he shews that this faith was gained in the actual intercourse of the disciples with Christ. The record of this confession therefore forms the appropriate close to his narrative; and the words which follow shew that the Lord accepted the declaration of His Divinity as the true expression of faith. He never speaks of Himself directly as God (comp. 5:18), but the aim of His revelation was to lead men to see God in Him.”

Thus, Westcott’s usage is somewhat akin to the following:

He denied that he was a hero, but those who witnessed his actions clearly saw the hero in him.

RayB said...

J,

My two cents:

I think it is paramount to understand the human SPIRITUAL condition as defined by God's Word. This is a very important doctrine that many people fail to understand; the Depravity of Man.

Adam and Eve, our first parents, were created without sin and with a true "free will." They walked in complete harmony with God. Yet, their relationship with God was conditioned upon obedience to Him. God granted Adam and Eve freedom over the Garden as evidenced by "And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:" Genesis 2:16 God also set limitations upon that freedom as evidenced by His statement to Adam: "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." Genesis 2:17

We know of course, that in spite of Adam's spiritual relationship with God, he chose to sin against Him. We also know that Adam did NOT DIE physically that "day." So how did Adam die? He died SPIRITUALLY. This is the sin nature, along with its dead spiritual state that we have all inherited. Born in sin, we ALL have a "free will," BUT, it is now bound to the sin nature that we all are born with. For a partial illustration of our natural state, see the "fruits of the flesh" as listed in Galatians Chapter 5.

In a very real legal and practical sense, the entire human race was judged corporally in Adam. Adam was the representative of us. Adam was the best of the best of all humans, because he was not born with a sin nature. Yet, Adam sinned.

As the Sovereign Head of the entire Universe, God could have stopped right there. He obviously didn't. But how could fallen Man now "find" the true and only God if he was dead spiritually? The Biblical answer is, if operating under his own "free will," independent of God, he can't.

RayB said...

Some very revealing verses from Scripture that reveal Man's inability to "find" the true God via his own free will:

"No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:44

"But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." I Corinthians 2:14

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8,9 NOTE: not only is "grace" a "gift of God," so is "faith" as in saving faith.

Romans Chapter 9: 10-20

10 And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;

11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)

12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.

13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.

15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.

18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.

19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?

20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?

"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:3

NOTE: without the New Birth, a person cannot "see" the kingdom of God spiritually ... again ... due entirely to the blindness due to the inherited sin nature.

Providing simple “yes” and “no” answers to the following, reveals:

Is “the Word” God the second Person of the Trinity?
Yes

Is “Jesus Christ” God the second Person of the Trinity?
Yes

Has “the Word” ever existed with human nature?
Yes

Has “Jesus Christ” ever existed with human nature?
Yes

Has “the Word” ever existed without human nature?
Yes

Has “Jesus Christ” ever existed without human nature?
No

Can we substitute “Jesus Christ” for “the Word” in John 1:1?
___(?)

“Christ” is an adjective that is nominalized (made into a noun) by the use of the Greek article. Thus, most literally, Jesus is “the Anointed”. Scripture says God anointed Jesus (Luke 4:18 [cf. Is. 61:1]; Acts 4:27; Acts 10:38; Heb 1:9 [cf. Ps. 45:7]). Did God anoint God, or did God anoint the God-man, the Person of Jesus Christ Who was both Divine and human? Did God anoint “the Word”, or did God anoint “the Word-made-flesh”?

“Jesus”, the Greek Iēsous, is a human name, meaning YHWH saves, or YHWH is salvation. This name was used in the OT/LXX for “Joshua son of Nun”, e.g. In the NT it was used for “Jesus Barabbas”, the one Pilate wished to keep prisoner in order to free Jesus Christ.

Is “Jesus Christ” God the Son, the second Person of the Trinity?
Yes

In my questions, the quotes are to signify the exact words. As an example, I shall ask and answer another somewhat thematically related question:

No, it was “Abram” in Genesis 14, for he was not called “Abraham” (father of many) until later.

RayB 2:07 PM,

I agree that people have will but not free will and are enslaved to sin without being given the gift of grace.

I still feel the need for consistency of all smaller patterns, together, in one big pattern.

It still needs to make sense to me why we should:

a) Pray

b) Repent

c) Evangelize

d) Become sanctified

It also still needs to make sense to me that He is not willing that any should perish.

It all needs to be consistent.

Yes, I know our righteousness is as filthy rags. Can we wash ourselves clean with filthy rags? No. Yes, I am aware that the intent of the Law was to prove that it was impossible for human beings to perfectly keep the Law.

What of the process of sanctification? Do we remain babies if we start as babies? If we don't remain babies, what happens to the theology, then? Does it remain static? Don't we have a dynamic relationship?

Maybe there's a reason why we were presented with relationship terms for our God. Maybe there's a reason why we were given histories and stories, not a Greek systematized theology. Jesus Christ could have written a better theology than Thomas Aquinas or Augustine. He could also have written a better theology than Luther or Calvin. Why didn't He do that?

Do you really think Calvin had no human cognitive psychology so that he had the tendency -- which we all inevitably have -- to look for evidence that confirms preconceived notions and disregard disconfirming evidence? This is how we are, regardless of IQ, education, or intellectual honesty. We are all this way.

Do you really think it's possible for anybody to read the Bible without interpreting it? Do you really think we don't need to start with the Apostles and the church fathers of the Apostolic Age as our foundation for interpretations?

I don't believe at all in any such thing as "plain reading" of the text. It is not how our brains work.

How come when Jesus was tempted in the desert and Satan twisted scriptures, he didn't answer with theology? He answered scripture with other scripture. Isn't that a clue that we need to make all our interpretations consistent with all the scriptures?

Don't we know by now that all our mental models are always incomplete, after 2,000 years of philosophy and science and business? Theologies are mental models, too.

J said...

I need to amend what I said about plain reading. I do believe in plain reading of the most critical, basic things that Jesus Christ taught. I just don't believe a fool proof theology can be constructed by believing in plain reading of all the text in the entire Bible. I believe the Word needs to be studied and meditated upon to progress in comprehension. My understanding the original meaning of Sola Scriptura in the first Baptist confession was that it didn't claim the entire Bible could be understood by any reader doing plain reading. Just that the basics that are critical for salvation could be understood by all readers. I do agree with that.

I don't want to go on and on and try anybody's patience. I'll just wait for a reply and then I'll let it go for the remainder of this comment thread.

The National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine says:

Is Evolution a Theory or a Fact?

It is both. But that answer requires looking more deeply at the meanings of the words "theory" and "fact."

In everyday usage, "theory" often refers to a hunch or a speculation. When people say, "I have a theory about why that happened," they are often drawing a conclusion based on fragmentary or inconclusive evidence.

The formal scientific definition of theory is quite different from the everyday meaning of the word. It refers to a comprehensive explanation of some aspect of nature that is supported by a vast body of evidence.

Many scientific theories are so well-established that no new evidence is likely to alter them substantially. For example, no new evidence will demonstrate that the Earth does not orbit around the sun (heliocentric theory), or that living things are not made of cells (cell theory), that matter is not composed of atoms, or that the surface of the Earth is not divided into solid plates that have moved over geological timescales (the theory of plate tectonics). Like these other foundational scientific theories, the theory of evolution is supported by so many observations and confirming experiments that scientists are confident that the basic components of the theory will not be overturned by new evidence. However, like all scientific theories, the theory of evolution is subject to continuing refinement as new areas of science emerge or as new technologies enable observations and experiments that were not possible previously.

One of the most useful properties of scientific theories is that they can be used to make predictions about natural events or phenomena that have not yet been observed. For example, the theory of gravitation predicted the behavior of objects on the moon and other planets long before the activities of spacecraft and astronauts confirmed them. The evolutionary biologists who discovered Tiktaalik predicted that they would find fossils intermediate between fish and limbed terrestrial animals in sediments that were about 375 million years old. Their discovery confirmed the prediction made on the basis of evolutionary theory. In turn, confirmation of a prediction increases confidence in that theory.

In science, a "fact" typically refers to an observation, measurement, or other form of evidence that can be expected to occur the same way under similar circumstances. However, scientists also use the term "fact" to refer to a scientific explanation that has been tested and confirmed so many times that there is no longer a compelling reason to keep testing it or looking for additional examples. In that respect, the past and continuing occurrence of evolution is a scientific fact. Because the evidence supporting it is so strong, scientists no longer question whether biological evolution has occurred and is continuing to occur. Instead, they investigate the mechanisms of evolution, how rapidly evolution can take place, and related questions.

Evolution True or False?

It is a wonder that the debate [about evolution] is still going on.

The scientific evidence that evolution is false is OVERWHELMING.

Yet the controversy goes on and on.

We shall look at the debate and let you decide for yourself whether it is true or false.

The evidence speaks for itself.

What is the real definition of evolution?

Darwinian Evolution

For too many years evolutionists have defined evolution as “change over time”. While things do change over time, that is not a true definition of what they really mean as evolution. Their real definition of evolution is a gradually growing of complexity in a living thing. But just because something changes does not mean that it grows more complex.

For almost 150 years they could fool some scientists and most laymen with their definition. But with the discovery of DNA and electron microscopes it became harder and harder to prove their case for the increase of complexity just through gradual change.

Now, the evolutionist must admit that what they mean is, that things do grow more complex as they evolve. They are now beginning to tread where real science will shine the light on whether their theory is true or false.

Evolution – science or science fiction?

What Evolution Is

Those who believe evolution used to frame the debate as one between science and religion. If you were a real scientist you believed in evolution. If you did not believe in evolution you could not be a true scientist. The only people who did not believe in evolution were unlearned or religious. So they felt that they had the higher ground of science for their standing.

But, as science began to look into “evolution” and study what constitutes real living things and the scientific laws that govern those things, evolution lost some of its standing. Real science must have some observations to establish it as real. Evolution hypothesized “change” over time. This was true, but the change that was observed was mere adaptation within a species. There was never a bridging of species or of a totally new and more complex species “evolved”.

Evolution had hypothesized that the fossil record would show the gradual change of one species to another in step wise progression. The fossil record has not done that with billions of fossils having been found and studied.

Those are two things that use the scientific method which have shown that evolution is not a fact. Yet, there are some who say that we simply do not live long enough to witness the gradual change that would lead from one species to another.

More science

Suppose we look at proven scientific laws and see if evolution measures up to true science.

Abio genesis is a biological scientific law. It simply states that “life only comes from life”. Louis Pasteur proved this with his experiment presented in 1859 at a Science Fair sponsored by the French Academy of Science.

Pasteur’s Experiment

Evolutionists used to say that germs came about spontaneously from minerals and chemicals. Pasteur put that argument to rest. Believers in evolution simply skip over the beginning of life and move to evolution in living things.

Laws of thermodynamics

The laws of thermodynamics will not allow for the process necessary for evolution to be viable. The first law deals with matter and energy and its static state. Matter and energy are manifestations of one entity. The amount of that entity in the universe can neither be increased nor decreased though the two may interchange.

The second law is the one directly affecting evolution. It states that “in a system entropy will always increase.” “Entropy” is disorganization.

Entropy

Evolutionists argue that there are systems that show increase in organization, such as the Earth. It does appear on the surface that there is a decrease in entropy on the Earth, but the Earth is part of a system and that system must experience entropy through the Earth’s gain.

For entropy to be overcome information must be increased to direct the use of energy. Without that information, there is no organization and entropy continues.

Entropy

For information to decrease entropy in one system it must allow for an increase in another.

DNA

All living things contain enormous amounts of information. DNA is NOT just an 'encyclopedia' of information, it is a WHOLE LIBRARY of information for even the simplest living cell. What the evolutionist will not tell you is, that when that simple living cell passes on its DNA to the next generation of that cell, it loses some of the information contained in the DNA.

Information of Life

Since DNA was discovered this fact has been established. The decrease in information is caused by mutations. At on point they declared mutations as the means by which cells could change and grow more complex. It was not long before this was proved wrong. It was found by scientific experiments and observations that mutations never added any information to the DNA. Rather, they subtracted information. The second law of thermodynamics applies to living cells as well.

DNA is not a tool of evolution but rather a tool of de-evolution. Given enough time all living things would devolve to extinction. That is a scientific fact and it lines up with all known laws of science.

According to DNA, is evolution true or false?

The Law of Probabilities

The reason evolutionists evoke billions of years is to allow for the change they said that would be necessary to bring about evolution of amoebas to humans. Since the science of probabilities has grown there are now certain parameters that have been established as to the possibilities of certain things happening. Probabilities are based on sound mathematical formulas and are well tested.

A simple example would be the probability of picking the number “1” out of a hat that has the numbers “0” through “9”. The answer is 1 chance in 10. But, suppose you have to pick the number “12” out of the same hat. (In other words you must pick first the number “1” and after that, with all ten numbers in the hat, choose the number “2”). To get number “1” is 1 chance in 10. Then to draw the number “2” by itself would be another 1 chance in 10. To get the probability rating for the number “12” you must multiply the factors together, 10 times 10. The result is 100. The chance of drawing the number “12” then, is 1 chance in 100.

I think you get the idea. Consider now the probability of the assembling of the necessary proteins to establish the simplest living cell known. The simplest living cell contains over 400 proteins. There are hundreds of amino acids available but only twenty are used to make proteins in living tissue. The amino acids are all left-handed, as opposed to right-handed.

To be formed into a protein by random chance choosing from these 20 amino acids and then assembling them into the right configuration to form one protein, would have a probability rating of 1 chance in 10>108. That is the number 10 followed by ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHT ZEROES.

To give you some idea of just how big that number is, there are only 10>80 atoms in the WHOLE UNIVERSE.

Does it sound scientific to believe in evolution?

Conclusion

There are many scientific papers out that “preach” evolution. If take the time to read and critically understand what is being said, then you will see that most of what is taught as evolution science is smoke screen.

Is there any scientific evidence that evolution is false?

Sure, there is. But because of their humanistic materialistic worldview most scientists do not want you to know that.

The only truly scientific alternative to their view is, that of the Bible, which is a creation world view. Everything about a Biblical world view lines up with the facts discovered in true science. Because of this the evolutionist is left with an empty bag when true science is set forth.

Evolution, true or false. Know the facts. Know the truth.

Thanks for your response.

Did Jesus the Son exist as the Son in the Old Testament?

Al said...

Will you ever quit your parsing, mincing, hairsplitting, superiority complex RayB?

Craig said...

RayB,

Of course God the Son, the second Person of the Trinity existed in the Old Testament, for to exist eternally means to always exist. At a point in time, however, the eternal God the Son, the second Person of the Trinity took human flesh to Himself, becoming the unique God-man, known as Jesus the Christ/Messiah. At this point in time and forward—forevermore—the God-man exists.

Given that there was a distinct moment in time for the Incarnation of the God-man, Jesus Christ, logically, there was a period before this in which there was no Incarnation. Prior to the Incarnation, God the Son, the second Person of the Trinity was strictly Divine; at the very instant of the Incarnation, God the Son, the second Person of the Trinity became and remains both Divine and human as “Jesus Christ”. To assert the existence of “the Son” in the OT is to be absolutely correct, as long as this is understood as ‘God the Son, the second Person of the Trinity’, and not as “Jesus” (or “Jesus the Son”) who is not strictly Divine but also human (100% Divine, 100% human).

Do we agree?

-----

As I’ve stated in many different ways, there is Personal continuity between “the Word” (God the Son, the second Person of the Trinity), and “Jesus Christ” (Word-made-flesh, God the Son, the second Person of the Trinity). Yet, in the same way Jesus Christ is human but not merely human, Jesus is Divine but not strictly divine. Oh what great mystery!

The 'False Prophet' in Revelation? Pope Francis hosts bizarre drag queen-like circus performance in creepy reptilian-shaped Vatican Hall

Tuesday, January 21, 2020 by: Ethan Huff

(Natural News) It was a celebration of all things strange, sexual and satanic at the Roman Catholic religion’s Vatican Hall on January 8. Pope Francis reportedly invited a group known as “Aqua Circus,” Europe’s response to “Cirque du Soleil,” to dance around on stage and pay homage to the reptile “jesus” idol perched up in a display behind him.

During this postlude to Rome’s General Audience event, Francis tossed a hula hoop to the “artists” in the performance troupe who were acting out a tale about a mermaid and a man under the sea trying to fight contamination of the ocean. In other words, the purpose of the show was to offer worship to Francis’ god of global warming and climate change.

In the below video footage, watch as creepy Francis smirks with satisfaction at the pagan performance happening right in front of him. And keep in mind that Vatican Hall itself is shaped like a giant serpent, both inside and out (pictures of Vatican Hall are available at Now The End Begins at the link at end of this article):

https://youtu.be/wiJGPRHkjgI

(For more related news about the false religion of Roman Catholicism, be sure to check out Deception.news and Evil.news)

Is Pope Francis the 'False Prophet' eagerly awaiting his Antichrist’s rise from the ashes?

As you’ll notice, the overtly satanic imagery was everywhere at this spectacle. Besides the shape and design of Vatican Hall, which is clearly meant to resemble a snake – think Garden of Eden if you’re missing the insinuation, here – the dancers, which looked like a bunch of ambiguously adorned drag queens, further represent the new race of genderless, sexless cyborg beings that will populate the New World Order.

This is what the satanic Baphomet image is supposed to represent, in case you didn’t know: a part male, part female, part animal, part artificial intelligence (AI) robot being that will exist as earth’s new race of fake humans once the LGBTQP agenda is fully implemented.

And how about that creepy “art” image of fake jesus rising from an “atomic apocalypse” behind Francis the entire time? This 1977 creation by Pericle Fazzini depicts the false messiah rising from the ashes after what would seem to be a catastrophic global disaster of some kind.

If you look closely at the fake jesus in Fazzini’s statue creation, you’ll see that he’s been given a REPTILE head, further revealing this creepy to be that of Satan himself, and certainly not the real Jesus.

“In the Bible, Satan is pictured as a reptile who will have a coming war with King Jesus at the Battle of Armageddon at the Second Coming,” writes Geoffrey Grider for Now the End Begins, about which side of the battle Roman Catholicism has embraced.

“Revelation shows us that the Genesis serpent had an ‘upgrade’ along the way and now is a giant, red-headed multi-headed dragon, though still a reptile.”

Whether you personally believe in all of this or not is irrelevant, because Roman Catholics and Francis certainly do. And it’s all coming to pass just as the Bible said it would, with Francis vying for The False Prophet position in this apocalyptic narrative.

Keep in mind that the climate change narrative being pushed by Francis and his ilk is a religion in and of ITSELF, and one that requires worship in the form of not eating meat, not using fossil fuels, and embracing the LGBTQP “rainbow” as the new global standard for civilization – just like Sodom and Gomorrah, and we all know what happened to those places.

“The Vatican loves dead things, and creepy things, and perverted things,” Grider also notes. “Things like the circus that Pope Francis invited to the reptilian Audience Hall on January 8, 2020.”

There is the idea of Macro Evolution and there is the idea of Micro Evolution. The former is just that; an idea. The latter is really what modern scientists beginning with Darwin were referring to.
Thomas Dahlheimer believes in a theory that even Darwin didn't suggest. It's been compared to a man taking all the minute pieces of a fine Swiss watch in an unassembled pile and picking the pile up and throwing it in the air and hoping that it comes down and lands as a perfectly assembled ticking timepiece. Thomas believes that if one were to only throw those pieces up in the air enough times, that eventually it would happen. No. Never. Not even in twenty billion years, and the universe is thought to be fifteen billion years old.
But Micro Evolution is possible, though even that is a theory. It postulates that a single species can develop differences in different environments over long enough periods of time due to differences in climate and food sources etc.
Nothing in the Bible contradicts this thought. But species never cross breed in nature.
The reason for this is that God, the Lord of Hosts, made it that way.

Virginia Police Accuse Man of “Pre Operative Planning” Against Rally

“This incident occurred on Saturday, 01.18.2020 at 8:57 in the morning. My husband became a target of the pending Red Flag Law in VA. The reason the police came is due to a visit George made to the Capitol in order to become situationally aware of his surroundings on Lobby Day. His observations and the pictures he took made Capitol police concerned. George was not the only person on Capitol grounds that day. He was not the only person taking pictures either. But George’s size and stature coupled with his purposeful actions made him a target for a dry run on Red Flag laws on a citizen of Virginia. Red Flag Laws have not been legalized in VA at this point.

"The police told us they had a tip about George but what we soon discovered was the tip to the police came from the Capitol police itself. The Capitol police saw my husband a threat and then tagged him as a danger. Ten days later the Capitol police, escorted with a State trooper came to our home. We had been rousted at our home on a quiet Saturday morning. Our home which is over a hundred miles from the Capitol and located at a 2nd amendment Sanctuary County.

"At this point you should know that one of them was a Capitol police officer and the other was a State Trooper, homicide division. The two officers had their hand on their weapons when my husband stepped out the door to greet them. And the rest you can see on this video. Please share this with anyone who has questions about the Red Flag Laws being proposed. Trump was correct when he said, 'They are not after ME. They are after YOU. (I'm just in the way!')” – Kay Wagner

"PAPERS PLEASE!"

The Attempts At The Implementation Of '1984'-Style Police State Policies Are Proceeding On Schedule:

New Bill to Allow Cops to Detain Citizens, Force Them to Explain Who They Are, What They’re Doing

Matt Agorist / TFTP
January 20, 2020

An ominous bill that is currently making its way through the Kentucky Senate aims to give police unprecedented unconstitutional powers. These new powers will allow cops to stop anyone they want and demand that person tell them who they are, where they are going, and explain their actions. Naturally, it has civil rights advocates up in arms, but it doesn’t seem to be slowing down the bill’s momentum.

Police merely need to make an unsubstantiated claim that a person is involved in criminal activity which gives them free reign to stop that person, demand his name, home address and age — as well as ask to see his driver’s license, if he has one — and tell him to explain what he is presently doing “to the satisfaction of the officer.”

If you invoke your constitutional right not to answer the officer’s questions, this new bill grants cops the 'right' to DETAIN YOU for TWO HOURS. Even MORE OMINOUS is the fact that this detainment is not considered an arrest so you have NO right to an attorney and police DON'T even have to record it. This non-arrest grey area detention will UNDOUBTEDLY be rife for abuse.

Nevertheless, advocates for the police state tyranny say cops must have this new ability—to keep us safe.

The ‘Jesus’ revered by Muslims is NOT the same Jesus worshipped by Christians as God

'1,400 years ago, Muhammad hijacked Jesus from the gospels.'

By William Kilpatrick
Life Site News
1/22/20

1,400 years ago, Muhammad hijacked Jesus from the gospels, demoted him to prophet, and placed him in the Koran.  Christianity was Islam’s main competition at the time, and Muhammad seems to have reasoned that it was better to co-opt Jesus than to denounce him.

Jump ahead 1400 years, and we find that some Muslims are still manipulating the figure of Jesus for political and religious purposes.  For example, Muslims in the West Bank have for several years been proclaiming that Jesus was the “first Palestinian.” They claim, moreover, that when Israelis place restrictions on Palestinians, “Jesus is being crucified again.”  The latest twist on that story is that Jesus was also the first martyr for Islam.  Tawfiq Tirawi, a senior member of the Palestinian Authority posted the following on his Facebook page:

"This is blessed Christmas, the birthday of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, the first Palestinian and the first Shahid (Islamic Martyr)."

I bring this up because many Christians have only a hazy understanding of the place of Jesus in Islam and some are completely unaware that Jesus does have a place in Islam.

Catholics, however, should know that Muslims “revere” Jesus because that’s what it says in the Vatican II document Nostra Aetate, and almost everyone who has attended Catholic schools in recent decades will have been appraised of the high esteem that Muslims have for Jesus.

But for many Catholics, that’s all they know about Jesus and Islam.  And it simply isn’t enough now that Islam has passed through its mid-century sleepy-time phase, and has re-emerged as a world power.  It’s important to recall that Nostra Aetate was written in 1965—right in the midst of that quiescent era-- and it was meant to convey a positive picture of Islam, NOT a complete one.

Islam has emerged from its mid-century slumber, but many Catholics have not emerged from theirs.  They won’t admit that the Vatican II sketch of Islam is woefully inadequate for understanding born-again militant Islam.

Take the claim by the Palestinian leader that Jesus was the first Islamic martyr.

Anonymous said...

Anyone with a basic knowledge of Islam would immediately realize that Tirawi was either:

a) very poorly informed about Islam or

b) deliberately deceiving for propaganda purposes.

Jesus could not have been an Islamic martyr because the Koran denies that he was crucified.  Instead the Koran claims that SOMEONE ELSE (who looked like Jesus) was mistakenly crucified in his place. (4:157)

Jesus is revered by Muslims NOT because he died for our sins (it's not true say Islamic authorities), but because he was a great prophet.

Why was he a great prophet?

Primarily because he foretold the coming of MUHAMMAD.

But suppose for a minute that Jesus gave up his life for the sake of Allah as the Palestinian leader claims.  That presents another difficulty for Catholics who think that Muslims venerate the same Jesus that they do.  According to Islamic tradition, the reward that the Islamic martyr receives in paradise is 72 dark-eyed virgins.

The concept is, of course, offensive to Catholics and other Christians.  It not only reveals that Muslims have a complete misunderstanding of who Jesus is, but also a rather base conception of our final destiny.

But since the Koran says that Jesus was not martyred, the question of virginal rewards is moot.  Or is it?  While Islamic scholars are agreed that martyrdom is the surest way to paradise, one doesn’t have to be a martyr to get there.  One authoritative guide to Islamic law asserts that “whoever believes in Allah and dies as a believer is one of the inhabitants of paradise…”
(Reliance of the Traveller, p1.3).  After all, Muhammad didn’t die as a martyr either.  Yet, one assumes that, from an Islamic point of view, he is safely in the company of his 72 companions
-or, perhaps in his case, 144 or more.  Although Muslim males are restricted to four wives at a time on earth, Allah declared that Muhammad could have as many as he desired.

Nostra Aetate assures us that Muslims “value the moral life,” and the implication is that it’s more or less the same moral life that Christians value.  But when it comes to sexual ethics and the equality of men and women, it’s quite obviously a different kind of moral life that is valued.  Indeed, from a Christian perspective it’s an immoral life.  'Heaven' is nothing more than a glorified harem.

Christians need to be careful about projecting Christian assumptions onto Islam.  It’s particularly tempting to assume that the Jesus Muslims honor is none other than the Jesus of the gospels.  But he’s NOT the same Jesus.  For one thing, he’s not even a Christian (or Jew).  He’s a MUSLIM.  If he were a Christian, he would end up in hell not paradise.  Why?  Because the worst sin anyone can commit is the sin of shirk—ascribing associates to Allah.  Thus, believing in the Trinity is a great sin since that article of faith describes God as a unity of three persons.  The Koran is quite adamant that “whoever ascribes associates to Allah, Allah has forbidden him paradise, and his refuge is hell” (5: 72).  Since the Jesus of the gospels claims to be the Son of God, he would be guilty of shirk in the highest degree, and thus, to put it mildly, ineligible for paradise.  The Jesus of the Koran, on the other hand, vows to Allah that he had never claimed to be God (5:116). He knows the rules, and as a good Muslim he follows them.

Anonymous said...

The closer one looks at the Jesus of the Koran, the more difficult it is to believe that he is the same Jesus we find in the gospels.  He is no longer a Christian but a convert to Islam.  When he comes again, according to Reliance of the Traveller, “he will not rule according to the Evangel [the Gospel]. But as a follower of our Prophet.” (o9.8)

Not only that, but at the Last Judgement, Jesus will bear witness against Christians who have not converted to Islam (Koran 4: 159).  This might come as a bit of a shock to Catholics who have heard that Islam has high regard for the “people of the book”—i.e., Christians and Jews.  Isn’t it enough, they may ask, to follow their own faith as long as they are people of the book?

Well, yes and no.  At one time it was enough, but no more.  Not with the arrival of Muhammad on the scene.  Reliance of the Traveller puts it this way:

Whoever adhered to the Evangel and precepts of Jesus, their faith was valid and acceptable until the coming of Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace.)  Those of them who did not then follow Muhammad and give up the sunna of Jesus and the Evangel, were lost. (w 4.4)

In short, at a certain point in history, Allah threw the book at the people of the book for not switching to the 2.0 version of his religion.  The new version essentially replaced the old:

"Allah Most High sent Muhammad …to deliver His inspired message to the entire world…superseding and abrogating all previous religious systems with the Prophet’s Sacred Law"
(Reliance of the Traveller, v. 2.1).

Muhammad hijacked Abraham, Moses, and Jesus (all re-imagined as Muslim prophets) to help sell his patchwork creation.  And Muslims are still trying to enlist Jesus in order to sell Islam. Only now, they use modern advertising methods to promote their message. So, don’t be surprised if the next time you’re cruising down the highway, you encounter a billboard suggesting that you “Find Jesus in the Qur’an, Muhammad in the Bible.”

The ad campaign is sponsored by a Muslim group called GainPeace. Sabeel Ahmed, the executive director, claims that “our main purpose is to build bridges, and to erase misconceptions.”

But the ad itself is misleading. I can’t claim to remember every name in the Bible, but I’m fairly sure that the name “Muhammad” is not among them. It’s true, of course, that someone named “Jesus” does make occasional appearances in the Koran. And because Muhammad borrows from Luke’s nativity story, it looks at first as though it might be the same Jesus. But after we find out that Jesus was born of a virgin named Mary, the narrative—if you could call it that- -departs radically from the Bible story. Almost everything else spoken by the Muslim Jesus or spoken about him is a subversion of the Christian message.

One last point. Sabeel Ahmed reports that “Jesus is mentioned with love and respect and honor more than 25 times in the Qur’an.” Twenty-five sounds about right, but in most of those mentions, Jesus’s name simply appears in a list of other Muslim prophets who endorse Muhammad’s message. If you’re simply looking for the name “Jesus,” you’ll find it in the Koran, but if you’re looking for a flesh and blood person like the Jesus Christians know, you’ll be sorely disappointed.

Unfortunately, this numbers game is effective with some Christians—particularly with those who have not read the Koran. In defense of the thesis that Islam and Christianity share much in common, a priest once pointed out to me that Mary is mentioned in the Koran 32 times. He seemed to think that that was a decisive argument. But, of course, it’s not. And if confusion about the faith continues to rise among Catholics, it’s a good bet that Muslims will ramp up their proselytizing efforts.  Catholics who hope to defend their faith will need to better inform themselves about Islam, and not let themselves be misled by word games and number games.

You don't need a Jesuit trained "scholar" to explain everything to you. What you don't understand, you don't understand. Keep reading. Most of the Bible is easy to understand. The Holy Spirit is called The Spirit of Truth. Jesus said in the Gospels that He would guide believers in their understanding of God's Word. It's the main reason that He sent the Holy Spirit to the believers at Pentecost! He will guide you!
Read the Bible! Maybe start at the Gospel of Matthew. What's not to understand? It's all very plain language. You can do it.

Bible believers that are not "ecumenical" are often chastised by Catholics for their schismatic behavior. Clearly, these comments illustrate that "accepting Protestants" is not acceptable to THEM. However, we must "accept" Catholicism and it must be on their terms.

The tower of Babel is in Genesis chapter 13.
The story about the early Christians at Pentecost is in the New Testament in the Book of The Acts of The Apostles in chapter 2.
You don't have to come to the conclusion that I did, and probably "reversed" was a poor choice of a word to use there anyway.
More like compare the two; but it was just to say that God is almighty. He can build a nation up and he can tear them down. His ways are above our ways as far as the sky is above our heads. I said that it was "among other things" that he did at Pentacost. The main thing that he did at Pentecost was that he gave us the Holy Ghost to lead us in all truth. You are not alone and you don't need a priest or a scholar to grasp the important parts of the Bible. The Bible is not for intellectuals. It's for the meek.

Jesus said: "Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of the heavens.
Blessed are you who mourn now for you will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek for they shall see God."

And he went on. Read Matthew chapter 5.
Ask God to send you his Holy Spirit and open up the Bible to you and HE WILL.

Amen, paul.

God draws near to the humble and stands away from the proud. That is all over the Bible in many examples.
The Spirit of God is the one we can trust to lead us to God, to know God's Word, and know God's Son, Jesus, the Real Jesus. We are all debtor's to His Grace, we are helpless, and we are hopeless, without the Lord.
The Lord has made all provision for people, and through all the ages of time, if we will only choose to trust Him, no matter what the world looks like, no matter what the world entices us with, no matter what we do not yet know or fully understand.
The Bible is light unto our path just like Psalm 119:105 says.

About a year after my conversion to Biblical Christianity, I worked in the area of evangelistic outreach with a then young pastor in our area. On Saturday mornings, we simply knocked on doors in a variety of areas, including many heavily Roman Catholic neighborhoods. We also spent time in the inner city. It was quite an experience.

The standard opening line I used was: "We are from a local Bible Believing church (in order to distinguish that we were not JWs) and are visiting your neighborhood in order to invite you to our church. Are you currently attending a church? ...... Let me ask you a question, and its an important one; if you were to die today, where do you think you would spend eternity, in heaven or in hell?" Of course, their answer was very revealing as to their current spiritual condition. Almost ALWAYS, the answer would be "I hope I'm going to heaven." When asked why, they would typically say "I think I am a good person ... I at least try to be, etc., etc." This was the KEY follow up question: "UPON WHAT AUTHORITY HAVE YOU PLACED YOUR HOPE?" If they weren't "religious" (such as RC), they would typically be dumbfounded. We then would respond with "our authority, upon which all matters of belief rest, is the Word of God ... the Bible." "Would you be interested to know what the Bible really says regarding your eternal destiny?"

Here is the key to understand what I am trying to say; EVERYONE places their hope upon an "authority," whether it is real or imagined. The problem that I have always run into when dealing with RCs, for example, is that they do not respect the Bible as authoritative, and, they are kept as ignorant as possible when it comes to its teachings in its entirety.

That was part of Martin Luther's problem; although ordained a priest, he was kept ignorant as to the Bible's teachings. Although an ordained priest, he had no peace in his soul. As a searching young man, he stumbled upon a "book" in the library of his university and began to read, for the first time, the book of (as I recall) II Samuel. He was stunned, because the only part of the Bible he was trained in were the Four Gospels. Amazingly, he didn't even know the "Bible" consisted of anything outside of the Four Gospels! Keep in mind, at this time, the Bible was not available to the common man. It was written in Latin, which was the "language of scholars." Even if you were affluent in Latin, which Luther was, the Bible was not available to most people. Prior to Luther's reading of the Bible, his SOLE authority was the official teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Upon reading the Bible, he began to see that what he had been trained to believe and teach was in direct conflict with God's Word. Eventually, through an act of God's grace, Luther's "authority" became God's Word, and it was upon that for which he made his stand.

Keep this in mind; Luther took his stand knowing that such a stand was extremely dangerous. Kings at that time were obligated to be "defenders of the faith" (i.e. Roman Catholicism). There was nowhere for a desenter to hide. Heretics, when found, were dealt with harshly, and more often than not, they faced torture (i.e. the infamous rack) and horrible deaths. Why did Luther, along with countless others, take a stand for God's Word against all the then known powers of the world? They did so because they were convinced of the AUTHORITY of God's Word, and were willing to die defending its truths!

"Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." God's Word cuts asunder. It exposes the darkness of our soul, while showing us the way with its truth exposing light. It is the only sure roadmap that is the guide for all matters of faith and practice. Reading it should never be taken lightly. It is the One AUTHORITATIVE source upon which a person can trust in totally.

US Department of Transportation to Ban Dog Breed Discrimination on Airlines—Particularly Against Pit Bulls

By McKinley Corbley
Good News Network
Jan 23, 2020

Animal rights activists are rejoicing over the US Department of Transportation’s most recent move to ban airline breed discrimination.

According to the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the department will soon be issuing new regulations that will prevent airlines from refusing to accommodate service animals based on their breed.

The initiative comes as a welcomed followup to Delta Airlines’ decision over the summer to continue prohibiting pit bull-type dogs on their flights despite how the company only recently abandoned their ban against emotional support animals on flights longer than eight hours.

“With its decision, Delta placed an extreme and unnecessary hardship on its own customers, asking them to choose between air travel and essential service animals,” wrote Humane Society CEO Kitty Block in a blog post. “It also ignored guidance from the DOT in August 2019 that instructed airlines not to prohibit service dogs on flights based on their breed or physical appearance alone.

“The DOT confirmed that guidance in its announcement today and stated that it is not aware of nor has been presented with evidence supporting the assertion that an animal poses a direct threat simply because of its breed.”

While the regulation has not yet been officially formed, it is the latest in a long slew of US initiatives to end breed discrimination on a municipal and state level—particularly against pit bull-type breeds.

“There is, in fact, absolutely no evidence that pit-bull-type dogs have more aggressive tendencies than other breeds,” wrote Block. “On the other hand, such dogs are increasingly serving as seeing eye and hearing dogs, as physical support dogs for balance and mobility, as medical alert dogs responding to various health issues such as low blood sugar, oncoming seizures or low oxygen levels, and as support animals for individuals with psychological conditions such as PTSD.

“We applaud this proposed amendment that would bring airlines in line with the latest science while ensuring that individuals with disabilities and their service animals are adequately protected from frivolous discriminatory policies.”

The internationally renowned spiritual theologian, Episcopal priest and eco-theologian, Reverend Matthew Fox, presents Daily Meditation (DM) Facebook postings. On Rev. Fox's January 22, 2020 (DM) Facebook post there are only two comments posted. One of the comments is my comment. It does not support Fox's Creation Centered Spirituality theology. It is Transcendent Spirit Above and Beyond Creation and Also In All Of Creation Centered Spirituality & Theology. (Is Fox converting to my theology?) My Facebook comment reads (with one misspelled word corrected):

Who Is “our Creator and Source of all being?”

The Hindus believe that Spirit is the ultimate Creator and Source of all being. Paramahansa Yogananda, widely regarded as the father of yoga in the West, wrote: Spirit existed before God. God is the Creator of the universe, but Spirit is the Creator of God.” Yogananda’s Guru, Swami Sri Yukteswar, wrote that Spirit is “the unqualified Absolute, the transcendent Father beyond creation.” Hindus believe that Spirit emanated/created God and that God then sinned against Spirit, causing God/god to manifest as both, 1.) the less-than-divine illusionary material universe and its soul, the world soul, who are often referred to as Mother Earth... and 2.) the Universe as it actually is, an essentially undifferentiated mass of light permeated with Christ/Krishna/Buddha/God consciousness. Jesus said that a person has to go through Him, or this Christ/Krishna/Buddha/God consciousness in creation to attain onto, or become one with, the unqualified Absolute, the transcendent Father beyond creation.

One of the founding figures of the modern New Age Movement, David Spangler, wrote: The world soul is usually conceived as a ‘formative force,’ an active, intelligent, purposeful spiritual presence at work in the material world to guide and guard the course of planetary evolution. It is generally not accorded the status of being the ultimate source, or Creator [Spirit], but might be looked upon as a [less-than-divine] great angelic or archangelic being [or Mother Earth] presiding over the well being of the world, or the gestalt, the wholeness of all the lives and patterns that manifest upon, and as, the earth.”

Secret Court Issuing Website "Takedown" Orders In America, Targeting "Vaccine Truth" Sites!

By Mike Adams, Editor
Natural News
1/23/20

Take note, ALL independent media publishers (and vaccine skeptics):

A Natural News investigation has discovered the existence of a "SECRET COURT" in America which is run by the vaccine industry and is currently issuing takedown orders to tech companies and hosting infrastructure companies to cause targeted disruptions (SABOTAGE) of independent media websites that question any official vaccine narrative.

Natural News has learned that these secret court orders are hidden inside sealed, terminated court cases which are being laundered through the federal bankruptcy courts but have NOTHING to do with bankruptcies. They are HIDDEN from public view and assigned a SECRET code that indicates their REAL purpose; to DISRUPT AND SABOTAGE the independent media by ordering tech companies to REMOVE websites, DE-PLATFORM channels or DISRUPT indy media operations.

The secret court orders are packaged as "Temporary Restraining Orders" demanding "Preliminary Injunction" actions to hosting companies. They are being shotgunned out to ensnare independent publishers who have NOTHING AT ALL to do with the court cases under which the secret orders are being hidden.

In effect, the vaccine deep state, as we call it, has HIJACKED and WEAPONIZED the federal courts to escalate censorship operations to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL!

Natural News has learned that DOZENS of independent publishers are being hit with these TROs and that the secret orders PRECLUDE hosting companies from alerting their own clients to the nature of the sabotage.

WE NOW LIVE IN A TYRANNICAL POLICE STATE where ANY website can be sabotaged, disrupted or taken down by a secret court order that is FABRICATED OUT OF THIN AIR, with ABSOLUTELY NO LEGAL JUSTIFICATION WHATSOEVER.

(Natural News will be bringing you more details in the days ahead.)

The following excerpts are from a recent article by Christopher Ferrara, a Traditional Catholic who is anti-New Age. The article is located at: https://catholicfamilynews.com/blog/2020/01/21/the-impeachment-of-christ-the-king-whats-really-behind-the-sham-impeachment-of-donald-trump/

Trump identifies himself as a Presbyterian. Who knows – only God knows – how sincere his Christian professions are or whether, under the trials to which he and has family have been subjected, he has undergone something like a religious conversion. But I find it supremely ironic that it was Presbyterians as well who, more than 150 years ago, predicted the final state of a republic which from its inception had turned its back on the God made man that Trump – alone among all the Presidents – has publicly proclaimed the Savior of humanity.

In the midst of the Civil War, there emerged in America a national movement of conservative and primarily Presbyterian ministers, theologians, academics, lawyers, and jurists that called itself the National Reform Association (NRA). On the rolls of NRA’s elected officers was no less than William Strong, a retired Justice of the Supreme Court. The NRA’s primary mission, which failed, was to amend the Preamble of the Constitution to recognize precisely what we Catholics call the Social Kingship of Christ. Its proposed amendment read thus:

“We the People of the United States, [humbly acknowledging Almighty God as the source of all authority and power in civil government, the Lord Jesus Christ as the Ruler among the nations, His revealed will as the supreme law of the land, in order to constitute a Christian government,] and in order to form a more perfect union…”[1]

The records of the NRA conventions during and after the war are replete with admissions by prominent American Protestants that the Civil War had been the outcome of a grave disorder in the Republic, a disorder that must be laid at the feet of the “sainted” (in a secular sense) Founders themselves in their attachment to the political philosophy and rationalism of the Enlightenment, which have reached their fatal terminus in America today. Typical of these admissions is the following from the proceedings of the NRA’s 1874 Convention in Pittsburgh, quoting a sermon by Rev. Horace Bushnell in July of 1861, three months after the War began:

“It is a remarkable, but very serious fact… that our grand Revolutionary fathers left us the legacy of this war in the ambiguities of thought and principle which they suffered in respect of the foundations of government itself.… [T]hey organized a government, such as we, at least, have understood to be without moral or religious ideas; in one view merely a man-made compact…

.......
.........

Again and again, the NRA’s speakers predicted the moral and spiritual collapse of America if its Constitution, bereft of any reference to Christ and His Gospel, were allowed to dictate the form and pattern of American social order. For example, one Tayler Lewis accurately prophesied as early as 1872 that under the influence of the “Godless Constitution” as wielded by anti-Christian forces, it would not be long before “our whole political page becomes a pure, unbelieving, irreligious, Christless, Godless blank.”[3]

And so it has come to pass as we confront our desperate situation today, in which none other than Donald J. Trump, for all his faults, is the only figure on the American political scene who has shown himself capable of reversing, however slightly, the process by which American politics has indeed become “a pure, unbelieving, irreligious, Christless, Godless blank.” For this, he must be destroyed [impeached and removed]. For not even the feeblest suggestion of a return to a social order based on the Law of the Gospel, nor even a half-hearted attempt to reconstruct some semblance of sociopolitical and juridical adherence to the natural law as Our Lord enunciated it, can be tolerated by the forces arrayed against this most unexpected president.

God help America if Trump fails to be reelected. ....

CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK ANP STORY MAJOR UPDATE!

Coronavirus Patent Granted To Bill Gates Funded Institute In 2018 Gives More Credence To The Theory It Might Be A BIOWEAPON

MSM Colluding On Narrative Hints Something Sinister As China Locks Down Cities

By Stefan Stanford
All News Pipeline
Live Free Or Die
01/23/2020

The comment by ANP reader Roland Deschain on Wednesday on this ANP story perfectly summed up my own thoughts about 'coronavirus' so I'll feature it here now to open this story:

I told myself I was going to ignore the news about the Wuhan Coronavirus but it's everywhere so you can't miss it. The reports of China quarantining Wuhan City, population 10+ million are official. For reference, NYC has a population of 8.4 million. Something tells me China is downplaying the amount of those infected and the number of deaths related to it. Shutting down a city of this size over 600 sick and 9 dead doesn't make sense.

While Wuhan's neighbor Huanggang was also quarantined on Thursday with a 3rd Chinese city also put on lockdown as officials in China cancel many Chinese New Year celebrations with some Chinese people claiming "it feels like the end of the world", we absolutely have to take a look within this story at the very real possibility that this coronavirus has been weaponized to do what the globalists have been unable to do through abortion or war; a mass culling, with one expert warning that this coronavirus already has the same 'death rate' as the Spanish flu that killed roughly 50 million people. First, from Yahoo News.

China’s deadly coronavirus may have the same death rate as Spanish flu, an expert has warned.

Deaths from the new virus rose to 17 on Wednesday with hundreds of cases now confirmed, increasing fears of widespread contagion.

The previously unknown flu-like coronavirus strain is believed to have emerged from an animal market in central Wuhan city, with cases now detected as far away as the US.

The Spanish flu pandemic of 1918 is widely regarded as “the deadliest in history”, and is believed to have infected around 500 million people worldwide, killing between 20 and 50 million.

Chinese officials have confirmed 440 cases of the new coronavirus strain - 2019-nCoV - so far, with 17 deaths.

Based on existing data, the disease is said to have a 2% death rate. This means that for every 50 people who catch the infection, one will statistically die.

To put this into context, around one in every 1,000 who develop flu die, giving it a death rate of 0.1%.

ANP MAJOR UPDATE! Back in February of 2017, Nature put out this story titled "Inside the Chinese lab poised to study world's most dangerous pathogens Maximum-security biolab is part of plan to build network of BSL-4 facilities across China":

https://www.nature.com/news/inside-the-chinese-lab-poised-to-study-world-s-most-dangerous-pathogens-1.21487

That research lab is in Wuhan, China. Just a coincidence this is all happening now?

A laboratory in Wuhan is on the cusp of being cleared to work with the world’s most dangerous pathogens. The move is part of a plan to build between five and seven biosafety level-4 (BSL-4) labs across the Chinese mainland by 2025, and has generated much excitement, as well as some concerns.

Some scientists outside China worry about pathogens escaping, and the addition of a biological dimension to geopolitical tensions between China and other nations. But Chinese microbiologists are celebrating their entrance to the elite cadre empowered to wrestle with the world’s greatest biological threats.

“It will offer more opportunities for Chinese researchers, and our contribution on the BSL‑4-level pathogens will benefit the world,” says George Gao, director of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Key Laboratory of Pathogenic Microbiology and Immunology in Beijing. There are already two BSL-4 labs in Taiwan, but the National Bio-safety Laboratory, Wuhan, would be the first on the Chinese mainland.

With at least one case of coronavirus confirmed in America and now officials in the state of Washington confirming that patient went undiagnosed for 5 days, having contact with at least 16 people, hinting that the disease may have already spread beyond the one known case here in America, we've long been warned to pay very close attention to 'ulterior motives' when the mainstream media completely colludes on a 'narrative' like we're seeing now with 'coronavirus', the lockdowns of huge cities and the globalists overall agenda.

So while we certainly won't be freaking out about a new mystery disease that has so far seen only one case in the US with a still limited number of cases even in the region it was first discovered, with the mainstream media piling all over it at a time when it is being used by a totalitarian regime to lock down cities, we should at least be paying attention to it, especially considering what we've discovered as reported in the next section below.

Let's next take a look at this thread over at the Thread Reader in which you can verify for yourself that a patent for coronavirus was filed in 2015, and granted in 2018, to an Institute that is partially funded by Bill Gates and the World Health Organization. From the Thread Reader:

https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1219795721286586368.html

The new fad disease called the “coronavirus” is sweeping headlines.

Funny enough, there was a patent for the coronavirus filed in 2015 and granted in 2018.

This assignee of this patent was the government funded Pirbright Institute out of the UK.

And would you look at that, some of their major funders are the World Health Organization and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Funny how the WHO recently said that vaccine hesitancy was one of the leading threats to global health in 2019.

And how much funding has the Gates Foundation given to vaccine programs throughout the years?

Was the release of this disease planned?

Is the media being used to incite fear around it?

Is the Cabal desperate for money, so they're tapping their Big Pharma reserves?

Are there vaccines already being manufactured to "fight" this?

Coordinated all along?

Interesting timing of when this disease is hitting the headlines.
During the Senate impeachment trials.

As Mike Adams warns in this new story over at Natural News titled "Weaponized coronavirus invades the USA as world panics over possible pandemic", the next wave of attack against humanity has just been unleashed. And with globalists like Gates long saying the world is overpopulated and vaccines might help lower that by perhaps 10 or 15 percent, can we really put it past them to create something to help them accomplish their goals? From Mike Adams important story:

The so-called "novel coronavirus" (2019-nCoV) is now spreading across Mainland China, and with the Chinese New Year travel surge under way, China's residents are "exporting" the virus everywhere. Confirmed cases have cropped up in Taiwan, and the CDC has confirmed that at least one patient in the United States has been infected and hospitalized (after being misdiagnosed for a week, during which he most likely spread the infections to others).

A bioengineered, weaponized viral strain

What seems obvious from the rapid adaption of this viral strain which has now achieved "human-to-human transmission" -- is that it has been engineered as a self-replicating weapon system to achieve the globalists' depopulation goals.

The long incubation period that seems to be presently observed allows this viral strain to spread in "stealth" mode, largely undetected until its payload fully activates. The longer the incubation period, the more people are infected and become silent carriers (who may not even know they are infected).

Anonymous said...

Currently this coronavirus is believed to have a low fatality rate, something less than 5%. However, this may change as the viral strain adapts or is altered through transgenic effects emerging from exposure to other circulating viral strains. In other words, viral strains can, in certain cases, recombine their proteins to create whole new strains. All this virus needs is to encounter a more deadly "payload" and incorporate that genetic sequence into its own.

The bottom line? Humanity is now under serious threat from these engineered bioweapons. They are fully resistant to known antibiotics, making them "superbugs" for which there is no known conventional treatment. This will inevitably cause many people to turn to colloidal silver, chlorine dioxide, essential oils and other natural cures, since natural medicine is the only system of medicine that can stop these engineered bioweapons. Which remedy works best against this particular strain, however, is entirely unknown, and if you are afflicted with this coronavirus, you should seek out immediate help from a naturopathic physician. If the CDC gets their hands on you, they will likely deprive you of any access to natural medicine while they take biopsies and blood samples, turning you into a human lab rat and imprisoning you under Obama-era Ebola quarantine rules.

With the Spanish flu pandemic of 1918 being the deadliest in history, infecting an estimated 500 million people worldwide—about one-third of the planet’s population—and killing an estimated 20 million to 50 million victims, including some 675,000 Americans, and this new coronavirus apparently killing people at the same 'rate', as 'Cat Ellis' reported in this new story over at the Organic Prepper, we serve our families and loved ones best by never panicking and returning to common sense practices that we should be doing whenever 'something nasty comes around', including preparing to 'bug in' if absolutely necessary.

What can you do?

Here are some things you can do to be proactive without panicking:

✓Take all the same precautions as you would for a cold or flu.

✓Get plenty of rest.

✓Eat a healthy diet.

✓Avoid excess sugar and alcohol.

✓Avoid crowds (malls, stadiums, airports, etc) and closed population (prisons, dormitories, nursing homes, any place with re-circled air).

✓Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap.

✓Avoid touching your face.

✓Get ready for an extended bug-in.

Antimicrobial Properties of Plant Essential Oils against Human Pathogens and Their Mode of Action: An Updated Review

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5206475/

See Table 3 for a summary of antiviral essential oils. Thymol would be in white thyme essential oil. So would linalool. Carvacrol would be in oil of oregano.

Thymol and carvacrol are very strong and very pungent smelling. A little goes a long way, and it smells much better if oregano and thyme oils are mixed with lemon and lavendar oils or a nice smelling general antimicrobial blend like Thieves or Germ Destroyer Synergy.

Essential oils should not be taken internally or applied topically in undiluted form. It's safest to diffuse in the air and to only apply topically after mixing a few drops with a carrier oil.

In Table 3, you will also find beta-caryophyllene listed. It is found in small amounts in many essential oils and in very large amounts in Copaiba essential oil. It is also found in very large amounts in any kind of CBD oil.

Be careful only to choose a brand of CBD oil that has been tested for purity. Marijuana removes toxins from soils, so you only want to buy brands that are purity audited regularly. Do some research or ask at your local healthfood store.

CBD oil will also increase NK cells (natural killers cells) which are immune cells with antiviral activity.

"Anonymous 9:01 PM,

"Do you regard the keeping of the sabbath and the ancient Hebrew holy days as being important for salvation?"

•Reply: Well, first of all, it should be pointed out that there is an unfortunate term there and that is "ancient Hebrew holy days": "ancient" used as an adjective of "holy days" is irrelevent here (unless assuming it was intentionally put there to imply or suggest that they are nothing but a long-dead set of observances of annually occurring set times rather than being a vital, existing part of God's ways and creation).

-And as for "Hebrew"...

••Are Biblical Holy Days for New Testament Christians?

By Larry Neff

Why are the Holy Days for the early Church largely ignored today?

Although I do not remember the exact event, I know that the first time I heard about God’s Holy Days was in August of 1951. I was seven years old, and my parents were attending a religious service in Portland, Oregon.

Our family had observed Christmas, Easter and Halloween throughout my short life. I remember observing those holidays and that I did not want to give them up.

I also remember that as I began to experience God’s true Holy Days, they were much more meaningful and enjoyable-even to a young boy. Eventually, I came to understand why this was so. I also came to understand that the days our family had observed earlier are not commanded in the Bible, and that the Holy Days described in Leviticus 23 are commanded in both Old and New Testaments.

The days labeled by many as “Old Testament Jewish days” are very much a part of the legacy left to us by Jesus Christ and the apostles. It has always puzzled me that people observe “religious” holidays not commanded or observed by God’s servants in either the Old or the New Testament, while at the same time ignoring those days that are commanded in the Bible.

Common Sense

Even while I was still in high school, I discovered that in the King James Version the word translated “Easter” in Acts 12:4 was an erroneous translation of the Greek word pascha, a word clearly meaning the Passover (described in Leviticus 23:5). Later, I learned that it was not until the second century, long after the New Testament was written, that people began to replace the Passover observance with Easter.

It became more and more important to me to look to the Bible to see what it said, and what Jesus and the apostles did. I was not so interested in what other people did later, people who adopted the practices of those who observed celebrations involving false, non-existent gods.

Common sense told me that to associate the name of Jesus with such days did not make them any more acceptable. Christ said, “These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men” (Matthew 15:8, 9).

What days are not commanded by our Savior? And which ones does He command? What does His example of obedience to the Father reveal (John 15:10)? Does it please God when we take to ourselves the right to decide how to worship him, while bypassing His example and the instructions of the Bible?

We have all been instructed to walk as He walked (1 John 2:6). And the Church is built on the foundation of the apostles, along with the prophets and Jesus Christ as the chief cornerstone. Let’s consider the New Testament evidence for the Holy Days. Let’s see that the evidence overwhelmingly points to the need for Christians today to observe these days. The rich spiritual meaning of some of these days is discussed in other articles in this issue.

{Part 2/8}

Christ Observed The Holy Days

It is certainly clear that the Messiah did not observe Christmas, Halloween, Easter or any similar days. Instead, He and His family observed the Holy Days given by God in the Bible. “His parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover. And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast” (Luke 2:41, 42). This included the entire festival, which involved the Days of Unleavened Bread (Luke 2:43; Leviticus 23:5-8).

About 18 years later, we find Jesus Christ still observing this same festival. “Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem” (John 2:13). It is called the Passover of the Jews because the Jews observed it; whereas Gentiles did not. In reality, God gave all the Holy Days as HIS days, saying “These are MY feasts”
(Leviticus 23:2).

A little after this, in John 5:1 we see Jesus’ involvement in another of the biblical feasts, although John didn’t specify which. Then, in John 7, He is shown keeping the Feast of Tabernacles and Last Great Day (described in Leviticus 23:33-36): “After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for He did not want to walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill Him. Now the Jews’ Feast of Tabernacles was at hand”
(John 7:1, 2).

In spite of the threat of bodily harm, Jesus the Christ still attended this feast (verse 10), and also explained the true spiritual significance of the Last Great Day (verses 37, 38).

Christ’s Personal Example

Finally, as most have read, the end of the gospel accounts record Jesus observing the final Passover leading to His death. He kept all of the annual festivals, not only because He was a devout Jew, but because God commanded it and because He was setting an example for us.

When we are instructed to walk in His steps (1 John 2:6), that cannot refer only to the 40 days He was here on earth following the resurrection. There is little description of that time period. Those who say He abolished the law through His sacrifice IGNORE the significance of His example.

Some believe Jesus Christ kept the law and the Holy Days to please the Jews, and just because He was a Jew and was under the law. In reality, Christ rebuked the Jews when they were in error. He firmly stated, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work” (John 4:34).

He was not concerned about doing what the Jews wanted but was deeply concerned about pleasing the Father and doing His will. He observed the biblical Holy Days to please the Father, and castigated the Jews for their hypocrisy, self-righteousness and wrong application of the law.

Is Love ALL You Need?

In Matthew 28:19, 20, Jesus made a powerful statement that we should consider. In verse 20, He commanded His followers to “[teach] them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” The Greek word for “observe” means “to watch” or “to keep.” Did He command us to keep Christmas or Easter? IF we follow in HIS footsteps, we will “keep” what HE kept-and Jesus Christ kept the biblical Holy Days.

To keep these days implies we will “watch” the calendar to anticipate and prepare for them, which is exactly what is done by those who observe the Holy Days. There is great joy while we eagerly await each of the festivals!

Some believe we don’t need to observe any days, and only need to have love. But how does one “observe” love? Holy Days are observed, but one does not observe love. The way to love God and our neighbor is explained in 1 John 5:2, 3: “By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. And His commandments are NOT burdensome.”

Paul’s Practice

Many theologians today believe Paul removed the obligation to observe these days. Yet, Paul made his personal practice plain: “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1). The New Testament shows that Paul KEPT the Holy Days!

Anonymous said...

{Part 3/8}

Let’s see how these days were observed following Christ’s ascension.

First, consider the very day the Holy Spirit was sent. “When the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place” (Acts 2:1). Christ had just been with them 40 days following His resurrection; He had obviously not told them they didn’t need to observe Holy Days or it is doubtful that the 120 would have been gathered together on this day.

If anything, this historical account shows the biblical Holy Days were being emphasized through the giving of the Holy Spirit and the beginning of the New Testament Church. God chose to begin His Church on this special day, yet many claim He had already abolished it, but just didn’t tell anyone. To the Church, Pentecost was still a “holy convocation,” a commanded assembly (Leviticus 23: 15, 16, 21).

Gentiles Observed Biblical Feasts

About 13 or 14 years later, Luke wrote about James’ martyrdom and Peter’s arrest. Luke was a gentile, and was writing to Theophilus, who is also considered to have been a gentile. Luke related the time of James’ murder and Peter’s imprisonment to the Days of Unleavened Bread (Acts 12:2, 3). Both men clearly understood when the Days of Unleavened Bread occurred and the timing of these events.

Luke repeatedly mentioned the biblical Holy Days throughout the book of Acts, knowing that his readers would understand what he meant-understanding they would have only if they observed these days.

Next, note what Paul said in Acts 18:21, “I must by all means keep this coming feast in Jerusalem; but I will return again to you, God willing.” It would appear this was the Feast of Tabernacles. (Some translations, such as the NIV and NRSV, do not include the clause about the feast.)

Other verses in Acts show the time of events being referred to by the biblical Holy Days, not Roman or Greek festivals. Two of these references are to the Days of Unleavened Bread in Acts 20:6, and the Day of Atonement in chapter 27:9. This day, “the Fast,” according to virtually all biblical scholars, refers to the Day of Atonement described in Leviticus 23:27-32.

Paul wanted to hurry to be at Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost, as we read in Acts 20:16. It would make no sense for him to hurry to get there if he did not observe the biblical Holy Days. But since Paul did observe the Holy Days, he had a real reason to be there by the time the day arrived.

Not Spiritually Unleavened

More than 20 years after the crucifixion of the Lamb of God, about the year A.D. 55, the apostle Paul gave some important instruction to the church at Corinth, a Gentile city. Most church members there were Gentile, though some were probably Jewish.

This church had serious problems. A man was involved in an immoral relationship. The rest of the church knew about and some may have even condoned this sin. Paul instructed them to expel this man from the church in order to stop the contagious spread of sin.

Then notice what Paul told them: “Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth” (1 Corinthians 5:6-8).

Just as leaven spreads throughout a lump of dough, so sin, if it is not stopped, will spread throughout the Church. We put physical leavening out during the seven days of Unleavened Bread to drive home the spiritual lesson that we need to put sin out of our lives.

In a similar way, wine and unleavened bread at the Passover remind us of Christ’s sacrifice (1 Corinthians 11:23-29). We are physical beings and we learn spiritual lessons through physical acts. The Corinthians had put out the leaven, but they had failed to learn and apply the spiritual lesson.

Anonymous said...

{Part 4/8}

Spiritual Lessons Missed

When Paul commented, “since you truly are unleavened,” he was not saying the Corinthians were unleavened spiritually. This account clearly shows they were anything but spiritually unleavened. They were full of sin. Paul, by mentioning the sacrifice of Christ, our Passover, is not saying they were spiritually unleavened through the sacrifice of Jesus. The blood of Jesus Christ does not pay for unrepented-of sin! And, up until this point, there was no repentance on their part.

Paul is saying in effect that they should stop slapping Christ in the face and spurning His sacrifice. They were condoning sin while putting out leaven, but making no move toward expelling the spiritual leaven. These Gentiles did put leavening out and were going through the motions of keeping the physical aspect of these days, but they also needed to carry out the spiritual meaning.

Paul said to these Gentile and Jewish Christians, “Let us KEEP THE FEAST.” Then he emphasized the importance of the spiritual aspect of putting sin out. Paul’s intent was NOT to spiritualize away the Days of Unleavened Bread, but to MAGNIFY them. He did not suggest removing the physical symbolism of the day.

Keeping the feast can only be understood in the light of what the BIBLE instructs. The instruction to put leavening out as covered in Leviticus 23 is not abrogated. The New Testament builds on the foundation of the Old by emphasizing the spiritual intent of these days. This passage is truly a strong assertion that the annual festivals of God were being observed by and taught to Gentile Christians. IF Paul elsewhere abolished these days, he did not practice what he preached, and he contradicted himself!

NOT Jewish Feasts

God’s Holy Days have tremendous meaning-not just the Passover, but all the days God made holy are relevant to us. God does not apportion to us the right to decide what is holy and unholy, or what is right and wrong. It is His prerogative. Our choice is whether we will obey.

The annual festivals are also mentioned elsewhere in the New Testament. In 1 Corinthians 11, Paul reiterates and reconfirms the New Testament Passover, as well as reproves the sinful church at Corinth for abusing the true purpose of the occasion. Some sought to be satiated to the exclusion of others who were poorer. This attitude was hardly compatible with the dire need to recognize the broken body and shed blood of Jesus Christ for their sins. This is another example of where the Corinthians misunderstood or ignored the spiritual lessons they should have learned from observing these days.

Toward the end of this epistle, Paul states, “But I will tarry in Ephesus until Pentecost” (1 Corinthians 16:8). If he were only gauging time by Pentecost, there would have been no need to wait. He waited so he could observe Pentecost at Ephesus with God’s people before continuing his travels.

“Love Feasts” In Early Church

God is love (1 John 4:8). The annual festivals are His feasts (Leviticus 23:2), or “love feasts.” They are alluded to in Jude 12 and 2 Peter 2:13. The early church kept “love feasts.” Is there anything that would label them as some of the quasi-religious festivals of today? The only feasts of God described in the Bible are the ones we have been reading about throughout much of the New Testament. There is NOTHING in the Bible to indicate they could have been anything else.

Commentaries say these days continued to be kept from the second to the fourth centuries. Then, as Adam Clarke says in his commentary, they began to be prohibited. But by that time, the “faith which was once for all delivered” (Jude 3) had already been diluted. By the fourth century, those in control of the popular churches undoubtedly found even these distortions of the original “love feasts” to be too Jewish. Easter had long since replaced the Passover and Sunday had crowded out the seventh-day Sabbath.

The annual festivals are the ONLY feasts God EVER gave! They are an expression of God’s love and a delight and joy to those who observe them!

{Part 5/8}

Holy Days CONFIRMED, Not Condemned!

Though it is not within the scope of this article to elaborate extensively on several New Testament passages erroneously used to discredit the Holy Days, a brief mention would be in order. Colossians 2:16-17 is perhaps the most oft-quoted: “So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.”

Do you think Paul meant we don’t have to keep the festivals? Did he observe them, while at the same time express God’s desire that they be abolished? This would have been inconsistent and hypocritical.

Why would Paul be telling the Gentile Colossians not to follow practices of asceticism on these festive days? Because they were following the commandments and doctrines of men, not God (verses 18-23). By no stretch of the imagination could one find anything in the Bible labeling the annual Holy Days as doctrines of men. They are GOD'S feasts.

Quite obviously, the Colossians were being led away from the proper observance of the Holy Days. If anything, these verses corroborate the practice of God’s true Church in the first century to observe these days, following the examples set by Christ and Paul. Paul here cautioned the Church not to be dissuaded by the condemnation of others regarding these festivals, which are a shadow of things to come.

Some people like to say they were a shadow of Christ, and once Christ came, the shadow disappeared. That’s NOT what the scripture says. They are a shadow of things YET to come in God’s plan. This was stated many years AFTER Christ was crucified.

OTHER Observances CONDEMNED!

Another misunderstood text is Galatians 4:10: “You observe days and months and seasons and years.” Nothing in these scriptures identifies these as God’s Holy Days. The Galatian Christians were Gentiles who were going back to what they had come from (verse 9). They were returning to PAGAN observances. God nowhere made any months holy, and He condemned the observance of times in Deuteronomy 18:10, so these could NOT refer to biblical festivals and Holy Days.

Verses 8 and 9 of Galatians 4 refer to the practices of the Galatians before they knew the true God. Then they are shown to be returning to the weak and beggarly elements. To say that God’s laws are weak and beggarly elements is BLASPHEMOUS. These “days and months and seasons [times] and years” were the PAGAN practices of MEN - possibly similar to astrology today.

When understood, these “problem” scriptures actually succeed in pointing us toward the true days God established for His people. They are days that are filled with meaning and spiritual significance-days that teach us and remind us of the various steps in God’s wonderful plan.

Biblical Record Clear

The record of what Christ and the apostles did is clear. When a person looks into the commands and examples in the Bible to determine which religious festivals to observe, there is only one choice to be found: the annual festivals and Holy Days of God.

If we are to build on the foundation of the apostles and prophets and on the chief cornerstone, Jesus Christ, we will be faithful to these days as they were. And, as we do, we will learn more and more about God’s plan every year. I have observed these days for 44 years, and each year brings deeper understanding of their meaning and significance. It’s not a process I intend to halt.

••Does It Make A Difference?

Only GOD has authority to make a day “holy,” so why have people established days of worship based on their own ideas or traditions?

••Does It Really Matter?

http://triumphpro.info/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/does-it-matter-what-day.pdf

And For The Weekly Holy Day...

••Now we come to a controversial statement:

“There remains therefore a rest for the people of God” (Hebrews 4:9).

The Greek word translated “rest” in every other verse throughout Hebrews 3 and 4 is katapausis. But the word translated “rest” in Hebrews 4:9 is sabbatismos. This is the only New Testament occurrence of this word, and its meaning is fundamental to understanding this pivotal verse, which is the conclusion of everything previously said about “rest” beginning in Hebrews 3:7.

The Anchor Bible Dictionary states regarding the meaning of sabbatismos:

“The words ‘sabbath rest’ translate the [Greek] noun sabbatismos, a unique word in the NT. This term appears also in Plutarch … for sabbath observance, and in four post-canonical Christian writings … for seventh day ‘sabbath celebration’ ” (p. 855, emphasis added).

The same resource continues with an explanation of the context:

“The author of Hebrews affirms in Heb[rews] 4:3-11, through the joining of quotations from Gen[esis] 2:2 and Ps[alm] 95:7, that the promised ‘sabbath rest’ still anticipates a complete realization ‘for the people of God’ in the … end-time which had been inaugurated with the appearance of Jesus [Hebrews] 1:1-3 …

“The experience of ‘sabbath rest’ points to a present ‘rest’
(katapausis ) reality in which those ‘who have believed are entering’ (4:3) and it points to a future ‘rest’ reality (4:11). Physical sabbath-keeping on the part of the new covenant believer as affirmed by ‘sabbath rest’ epitomizes cessation from ‘works’ (4:10) in commemoration of God’s rest at creation (4:4 = Gen[esis] 2:2) and manifests faith in the salvation provided by Christ.

“Heb[rews] 4:3-11 affirms that physical ‘sabbath rest’
(sabbatismos) is the weekly outward manifestation of the inner experience of spiritual rest ( katapausis ) in which the final … rest is … experienced already ‘today’ (4:7). Thus ‘sabbath rest’ combines in itself creation-commemoration, salvation-experience, and eschaton [end-time]-anticipation as the community of faith moves forward toward the final consummation of total restoration and rest” (pp. 855-856).

In summary, The Anchor Bible Dictionary decisively and correctly concludes that sabbatismos means
keeping the SEVENTH-day Sabbath. Therefore, Hebrews 4:9 stresses the need to CONTINUE TO KEEP THE SEVENTH DAY SABBATH in a NEW COVENANT context, even though the day also embodies all it meant under the Old Covenant.

"Herbert Armstrong taught that when Jesus returned for His true church, He would recognize her by the keeping of the sabbath and the holy days. Doesn't this make conformity with ancient Hebrew law ways, of greater importance than the working of the Holy Spirit inside the temple of God -- which we are told is each individual who is a member of the spiritual church?"

•Reply: Again there is the unfortunate term "ancient Hebrew" this time used as an adjective of "laws" and so again it is irrevalent here (unless, again, assuming it was intentionally put there to imply or suggest that they are nothing but a long-dead set of observances rather than being a vital, existing part of God's ways and creation).

And we need to get away from the mindset of caring what "Armstrong (or Luther or Pope Whoever or Graham, etc.) taught" and start caring about what the BIBLE teaches.

Short answer: BOTH of those things are of great importance and NOT one at the exclusion (or the significant diminishment) of the other.

And remember: There are LOADS of nice, friendly people on Earth who don't happen to process Christianity and who therefore don't make a point to follow the Biblical commands of God, so for someone(s) to be "nice" and "friendly" are clearly not enough IN AND OF THEMSELVES to be Christian(s).

So it is therefore incumbent upon EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US to find out (from the BIBLE) what IS.

What does the BIBLE say?

"THE SAINTS...ARE THOSE THAT >KEEP< THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD"

"Isn't blasphemy of the Holy Spirit an unforgiveable sin? Correct me if I'm wrong? Thinking about the recent conversation regarding trinity vs. binity."

By denying the Holy Spirit as a third entity in the Trinity, are you in danger of committing an unforgivable sin?

Jesus said in Matthew 12:32 and other places that whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven.

The Trinity teaching that the Holy Spirit is a separate person is a false and erroneous teaching. As demonstrated in our free study guide "Is God A Trinity?" (https://www.ucg.org/bible-study-tools/booklets/is-god-a-trinity) this belief is not found in the Bible, but is based in ancient religions that long predate Christianity. So rejecting this false teaching could not be an act of blasphemy.

The words of Jesus Christ in Matthew 12:32 are: “Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.” A similar statement is found in Mark 3:28-29.

At any time, God can and will forgive the sin of departing from Him, if the sinner wants forgiveness and genuinely repents.

Someone with insufficient knowledge of Jesus who may have been adversely influenced by biases, false accusations and the claims of jealous leaders may have looked on Him as a mere man. They might have stated things about Him that were untrue and disrespectful. Some without understanding of God the Father and Jesus Christ might even have made vile statements against them. Jesus says these sins would be forgiven on repentance.

But in the context of Matthew 12, the Pharisees were confronted with a miracle clearly demonstrating the power of God. Jesus had banished a demon from a man. They dismissed it as Christ having done this miracle by the power of Satan. But Jesus explained clearly that only by the power of a greater Spirit—that of God—could a demon be cast out.

They remained unmoved and hardened in their hearts. For them to see a clear demonstration of God’s power through His Spirit, yet still reject it, shows their attitude of willfully resisting the Holy Spirit, and this is why Jesus rebuked them with this grave warning. The Holy Spirit is the means through which God acts on and within our hearts and minds to change us into the kind of people He wants us to be. Blasphemy against the Spirit involves a refusal of that power that allows us to change.

Anonymous said...

The book of Hebrews addresses how the attitude of rejecting the work of the Holy Spirit can manifest itself among believers through spiritual neglect and persistence in sin: “For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame” (Hebrews 6:4-6; see also Hebrews 10:26-27).

The faithful and true believer will acknowledge, confess and repent of his or her sins, and ask for forgiveness. When we do this, we can take comfort in knowing that these sins do not lead to the second death because we are taking part in the conversion and overcoming process. John brings this out near the beginning of his letter in 1 John 1:8-9. The apostle Paul acknowledged that he committed blasphemy and was guilty of opposing and rejecting Christ and persecuting His followers. But he repented of this and through God’s grace was forgiven (1 Timothy 1:13-14).

In contrast, those who come to the point of finally rejecting God will not seek to overcome sin through the power of His Spirit. In choosing not to change or repent of their sins, they are ultimately choosing death. That is the “unforgivable” sin—sin that someone refuses to repent of.

But we can take heart, because so long as we desire to repent and get our life back in order spiritually, God will always forgive. At any time, God can and will forgive the sin of departing from Him, if the sinner wants forgiveness and genuinely repents as we read in 1 John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Clearly, God will extend mercy to all who sincerely repent and change—regardless of their sin. Christ’s words, coupled with the warnings in Hebrews, are sobering. Nonetheless, we should hold fast to the hope that God will grant us repentance when we turn to Him.

https://www.ucg.org/bible-study-tools/bible-questions-and-answers/by-denying-the-holy-spirit-as-a-third-entity-in-the

P.S. And incidentally as a matter of fact those words of Jesus Christ in Matthew 12:32: “Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.” HELPS DISPROVE THE TRINITY DOCTRINE!

OTHERWISE the supposed third member is on a higher, more exalted plane than the supposedly co-equal Christ!

After all, how does THIS sound:

"Oh, you can blaspheme Christ and you'll be forgiven if you repent but don't you DARE blaspheme the Holy Spirit member of the Godhead! THAT will NEVER be forgiven!"

What is “666” in Revelation 13:18? This is where a bit of Greek knowledge comes in handy. The word that the KJV renders count, while the ESV, NIV, and NASB translates calculate (there is no textual variant here), is psēphizō. Its noun form is psēphos, which literally means “pebbles”, for this points to the ancient method of counting and of calculating worth for bartering purposes. The Greek word isopsephy (from isos, “equal” and psēphos, “pebbles”) denotes the method of taking the values of each letter in a word or phrase as per the Greek numerical system, and then arriving at a sum total.

Revelation 13:18 specifically states that the number is “of a human [man]”. The verb psēphizō, then, indicates we are to take “666” and calculate/figure out who this refers to. Does this mean we should use isopsephy, similar to gematria? I think it does. See Greek letter values here:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isopsephy#Letter_values_of_the_Greek_alphabet

The sixth character, the digamma/stigma, is no longer used in the Greek alphabet, but the character is still used to represent the number 6. This means that the name of the beast referenced here must have some combination of the letters that contains single digits that sum to a number ending in 6 (e.g.: either an alpha and an epsilon [=6], or a theta and a zeta [=16]). As an example, I tried “Gates” (as in Bill Gates):

Γ = 3
Α= 1
Τ= 300
Ε= 5
Σ= 200
508

But that’s using Greek transliterations of the English “Gates”. I tried translating “gates” into Greek, but all the Greek words that could feasibly translate this do not work either.

In any case, for those interested, in the following link is an image of Rev 3:18 in a ca. late 3rd century manuscript (P47):

csntm.org/Manuscript/View/GA_P47

If you scroll down and select any of the 3 images labelled ‘Rev 13.16’, look for the 9th legible line, reading:

ΓΕΤINΔEΧΞϲ

The letters I’ve bolded above have an overline indicating these are numbers, and the numbers are, of course, “666”. This papyrus is in the usual majuscule lettering, akin to our CAPITAL letters (though the final digamma/stigma is in minuscule—and no longer in use, as noted above).

If you proceed to the 11th line you’ll see three letters with an overline indicating “144” (following that is the word for “thousand”). You’ll find it again near the bottom.

I find this all absolutely fascinating. Your mileage may vary…

paul said...

Craig,
Help me out. I found the lines that you indicate. But it's all Greek to me.
Are you suggesting that it's someones name?

Craig said...

paul,

Yes, i'm suggesting it's a name. You calculate the name by equating each letter to a numerical value as per the first link. E.g. the "144" is a rho (100), a mu (40), and a delta (4)--see middle column at first link for names of each letter--which equals 144. In reverse fashion, you merely sum the totals of all the letters in a name to try to find "666". This is what I did above with "Gates", by equating each English letter to its Greek equivalent (transliteration).

paul said...

So, was Gates just an example of how to go about it, or is the gates the name you found to correspond to 666?
Forgive me, but I'm notorious for missing the point sometimes.

paul said...

tree.service.guy56@gmail.com

Craig said...

paul,

I may have been a bit unclear. Yes, I chose “Gates” as an example, since he’s enthusiastic about ID2020. But, as of yet, “Gates” does not sum to 666. As far as the above (@ 1:43 PM), its sum, as per the English transliterated to Greek is 508—the number I have under the vertical “Gates”. It may have helped had I used the English-to-Greek first, like this:

G = Γ = 3
A = Α = 1
T = T = 300
E = E = 5
S = Σ = 200
>>>>>508

One of the Greek words for “gates”, as in “the gates of Hades” is still a bit shy (ΠΥΛΑΙ = 521). I’m going to ponder/research this further, for his first name “Bill” has a wide range of definitions/applications, and I think it possible to find one in Greek that can be paired with a Greek “gates”. One I just tried for “bill” is the word in Luke 16:6,7 (invoice)—ΓΡΑΜΜΑ, which equals 185. Another is ΒΙΒΛΙOΝ, which equals 174. But, this may be entirely wrongheaded in methodology—that is, taking an English name and applying other English definitions for these names, and then translating the results to Greek. But who knows?

In any case, in the early Church some had taken “NERO CAESAR” in Greek, transliterated it to Hebrew, and then arrived at 666.

Oh, and "SOLANA" does not work--at least as far as I can figure.

Where is the "mystery Babylon" of Revelation? Could it be Saudi Arabia, the place where the Apostle Paul failed to win converts? Could this be the place where the people had no love of the truth and loved a lie, so therefore, God sent them a strong delusion? Could Islam be the strong delusion of the end times, which one-third of the world believes in?

The early apostles were able to win converts all over the Middle East, with the exception of Saudi Arabia.

Think about that and then consider the possible evidence, detailed at the below link, about the possible identity today of the city and tower of "mystery Babylon".

@ 9:01 AM,

Using the Greek Isopsephy, just the English-to-Greek transliterations of the 2nd, 3rd, and last letters of his last name sum to 700. It would probably be better to revert his English name to Hebrew and then use Gematria. But I'm not sufficiently proficient in Hebrew--I find it confusing.

Paul 11:11,

I am still trying to figure out the Shoebats, but I have learned a lot about the Middle East and about Islam from them.

I do find it disturbing that they find no fault with the historical Inquisition.

Could it be that Walid Shoebat was socialized to be an authoritarian in his Muslim background, and even though he has converted to Christianity, he never completely transcended his background?

I think it's fine to learn from the Shoebats as long as you don't let down your guard and believe everything the Shoebats say about the RCC just because they are so insightful regarding Islam.

It's clear from many of his blog articles that Walid Shoebat doesn't understand freedom of religion, nor does he understand the traditionally American ways of "live and let live".

On the other hand, he seems fearless about calling out what he perceives as evil according to his understanding of scripture.
