Render to Caesar what is Caesar's and what is God's, render to God

Some of my Detroit - Pontiac, Michigan area friends have not been sitting silent on the Obama administration demand that there be no "conscience exemption" from providing contraception services to employees.  Catholics and many Evangelicals have strong religious convictions against providing such.  The Pontiac, Michigan area priest is St. Damien of Molokai Pastor James Kean.  Many Detroit area Christians gathered at the McNamara Federal Building a week ago last Friday to sound their protest and I found this up on Youtube.  I thought some of you would enjoy this, including but not limited to "Catherine" and "Suzanne" both Catholic participants on this forum.

Enjoy and comment on this.  The Youtube address may be directly linked by clicking here.  Many in this audience have followed my work against the New Age Movement since its earliest days in the early 1980's.

Stay tuned!

Regarding drones....

Target practice! ;^)

Here's something interesting put out by Citizen's United (which I haven't totally vetted yet, but they look legit - associated with Breitbart?):

"Occupy Unmasked" - A documentary film coming this spring that shows the radical roots of the Occupy Movement. Probably not anything about the New Age angle in this film, but it will be interesting nonetheless.

http://occupyunmasked.com/

As are most of the major threats to the world at large, the threat posed by the Occupy movement has two prongs - the radical, revolutionary element that seeks to destroy the current political structures, and the New Age, "Unify or else" spirit of a world religion that seeks to destroy the current religious order based on fundamentalist (Biblical) truth.

Anything that exposes either tactic is a good thing.

More that i just found on "domestic drones":

Ian McDonald, a marketing vice-president at Aeryon, the Canadian company that produces the Scout drone, says with a few taps on a tablet guide, the 3-lb. aircraft can take off in 40-km/h winds. March 4, 2012. (Sun News Network)
There's a hum in the sky above Waterloo, Ont., where small unmanned aircrafts are being developed and tested.
Drones, as they are known, have become synonymous with covert military operations overseas, spying on enemy positions and over troublesome countries.
Now the market for this technology is poised to take flight at home.
The commercial demand for unmanned aerial vehicles - or UAVs for short - in North America is growing, from police agencies to energy companies finding new ways to use eyes in the skies. And a Canadian company is at the forefront.
A recent U.S. Aerospace and Defence study predicted the worldwide military and commercial market for UAVs in the next 10 years will total $94 billion, and Aeryon, in Waterloo, is ready to cash in.
Ian McDonald, a marketing vice-president at the company that produces the micro-aircraft small enough to fit in a backpack, said his company's drones are already widely used commercially but that the applications are so far only touching the surface.
Since 2007, Transport Canada has issued 293 flight certificates, allowing for 1,000 civilian drones to be used in Canada.
"You can think of the system as a flying camera," says McDonald. "It can carry thermal cameras, high-res still camera, video camera with 10x optical zoom."
McDonald says if you can use Google maps, you can fly a drone. With a few taps on a tablet guide, he demonstrates how Aeryon's 3-lb. Scout can take off in 40-km/h winds.
The Aeryon Scout made international headlines last summer when the Libyan rebels purchased one for $100,000. They learned to use the technology in 20 minutes and were instantly able to gather video intel from the air on Gadhafi compounds.
Their ease of use and range of applications make micro-drones easy to be employed by fire and emergency response teams for search-and-rescue mission, as well as by oil and gas companies to survey land from above.
Halton Regional Police, in Ontario, began using an UAV last spring, mostly to photograph collision scenes and to aid search and rescue operations. In February, a Halton police drone hovered over the fatal Via rail crash in the region to get instant aerial images. Wildlife and forestry officials are also using the technology to help track their wide expanses without the need of more expensive aircrafts.
"You can observe what a person is carrying, a stick or a shovel, and if you get closer you can even do facial recognition," says McDonald.
It's that kind of claim that worries privacy advocates.
Security expert Alex Holstein said the technology could too easily allow users to infringe on personal liberties.
"Citizens should always be aware of what their government are investing in and civil libertarians particularly need to keep an eye on things to ensure there aren't abuses of the technology," Holstein says.
But, unlike military uses overseas where drones collect information on bad guys from above, in Canada there are rules to protect the rights of those on the ground from such eyes in the skies, says McDonald. Drones are not permitted for civilian surveillance or to collect personal information.
"We notify regulatory bodies anytime we are going to fly, just like when you are going up in an aircraft," he says. "So while there is the potential that someone will use the system for other purposes there is a high cost to doing that."

In February, President Obama signed an aviation bill that will open domestic skies to “unmanned aircraft systems,” more commonly known as drones. The coming proliferation of domestic drones raises a set of important privacy, safety, and national security questions. For instance, to what extent will it be legal for drones to hover 300 feet above residential neighborhoods snapping pictures into backyards and windows? What level of human-in-the-loop control is needed to ensure safety in a crowded airspace? And how can we stop terrorists from piloting drones at treetop level toward a target?

On April 4, Governance Studies at Brookings will hold a forum focused on the privacy, safety and national security implications of drones in American airspace. A panel of experts will address the challenge of realizing the many potential benefits of drones while minimizing the risks that will accompany their growing use.

The event will be webcast and live Tweeted at hashtag#BIDrones. After the program, speakers will take audience questions.

Dear Constance,

Thank you for posting this video!

It truly gladdens my heart that Catholic Christians, Orthodox Christians and non-Catholic Christians - and our Orthodox Jewish brethren - are marching shoulder to shoulder on this issue, which is not an issue about access to contraception, but about religious freedom.

To compromise on this issue would be the equivalent of "burning a pinch of incense to Caesar." And as we all know, early Christians preferred to die rather than to do such a thing.

On occasion, some of my Christian friends have asked me what the Catholic view is of the "Mark of the Beast."

One perspective on the "Mark of the beast" is hinted at in the writings of the Church Fathers.

For example, the "Mark of the Beast" worn on the forehead signifies our rejection of belief in God. The "Mark of the Beast" worn on the right hand signifies evil deeds.

The one often goes tandem with the other.

There is an old theological principle to the effect that "If you don't act the way you think, soon you begin to think the way you act." Perhaps this is why those who wear the mark on their right hand in the Book of Revelations are condemned alongside those who wear the mark on their foreheads.

This should be a warning to the Catholic-in-name-only "personally opposed to abortion, but..." crowd in Washington and elsewhere.

While the Books of the Maccabees are not a part of the Hebrew Bible upon which the Protestant Old Testament is based, they can be nevertheless valuable for the lessons they teach.

One such lesson has to do with a Jewish elder named Eleazar who was one of the leading teachers of the Jewish Law and lived in the days of the Greek tyrant Antiochus IV Epiphanes - a tyrant who held himself out as "god" and demanded that all the Jewish people conform to pagan worship - which included eating pork which had been sacrificed to the idol erected in honor of Zeus.

Eleazar absolutely refused.

Eleazar, one of the foremost scribes, a man advanced in age and of noble appearance, was being forced to open his mouth to eat pork. 19 But preferring a glorious death to a life of defilement, he went forward of his own accord to the instrument of torture, 20spitting out the meat as they should do who have the courage to reject food unlawful to taste even for love of life.

cont...

Susanna said...

cont...

21 Those in charge of that unlawful sacrifice took the man aside, because of their long acquaintance with him, and privately urged him to bring his own provisions that he could legitimately eat, and only to pretend to eat the sacrificial meat prescribed by the king. 22Thus he would escape death, and be treated kindly because of his old friendship with them. 23But he made up his mind in a noble manner, worthy of his years, the dignity of his advanced age, the merited distinction of his gray hair, and of the admirable life he had lived from childhood. Above all loyal to the holy laws given by God, he swiftly declared, “Send me to Hades!”

24“At our age it would be unbecoming to make such a pretense; many of the young would think the ninety-year-old Eleazar had gone over to an alien religion. 25If I dissemble to gain a brief moment of life, they would be led astray by me, while I would bring defilement and dishonor on my old age. 26Even if, for the time being, I avoid human punishment, I shall never, whether alive or dead, escape the hand of the Almighty. 27 Therefore, by bravely giving up life now, I will prove myself worthy of my old age, 28and I will leave to the young a noble example of how to die willingly and nobly for the revered and holy laws.”

He spoke thus, and went immediately to the instrument of torture. 29Those who shortly before had been kindly disposed, now became hostile toward him because what he had said seemed to them utter madness.j 30When he was about to die under the blows, he groaned, saying: “The Lord in his holy knowledge knows full well that, although I could have escaped death, I am not only enduring terrible pain in my body from this scourging, but also suffering it with joy in my soul because of my devotion to him.” 31This is how he died, leaving in his death a model of nobility and an unforgettable example of virtue not only for the young but for the whole nation.

2 Maccabees 18-31

Obama likewise offered the Catholic bishops a "compromise" that would have made it appear that Catholic institutions were not really paying for things that Catholics ( as well as non-Catholics and Orthodox Jews ) regard as gravely sinful.

To this, the bishops have said "NO!" Let us pray that they stand firm.

I want to wish all my Christian friends here a Blessed and Happy Easter.

I also want to wish my Jewish friends here a Blessed and Happy passover.

Susanna,

I only recently ran across the idea that the "Mark" on the forehead / hand symbolizes a rejection of God in thought and deed. It makes a lot of sense.

Melinda, etc:

As creepy as it may seem, it is a fairly common web "applet" that I see on various blogs, etc, that simply takes the IP address of the computer viewing the website and based on information visible to anyone who cares to look, determines the location of the ISP you are using to connect to the internet, and injects that location into a map or globe or something similar.

Basically, unless you are browsing the internet anonymously through a "proxy" server, your approximate location is known to every website you go to, and can be recorded if the website owner wishes to. Not many do, but that's the "open" nature of the internet.

I do not agree with it at all and have signed at least 1 petition.. It's just so sad that this country is headed down such a dark and evil path so QUICKLY.

Times indeed are speeding up. Come, Lord Jesus!

Paul, I totally agree with you. Thank you for the reminder. I'm not always the best about reading the Word and I know I need to do better. Something Richard Wurmbrand said has haunted me since I heard it, "The US is literally swimming in bibles".. I know how hard it is for many of our brothers and sisters to even GET a bible around the world, let alone read it.. I don't want to take for granted that we have "freedom" here, and are able to worship as we please, and have bibles, tell others about the Truth.. etc. I was telling a little boy in our neighborhood about God and Jesus the week before Easter- and he was fascinated. He asked me how I knew all that I did- I said, the Bible. He said, "Wow, I've never heard of that before" I was thankful I could freely tell him, without worry of someone coming to break down our door and haul me off to prison. Even if that is to happen in the future though, I only want to fear GOD instead of man. What can they do to us? Even if they kill us, they can't kill our souls. Praise to the Lord Almighty!

The artificial intelligence technology, coupled with unmanned drone technology will give GREAT capability to a very small control group. The future is very VERY much like "skynet" from terminator - no kidding.

The technology exists now but cannot be implemented until a US fighting force, loyal to its constitution, friends, and family is removed to fight a global, full-blown world war that is by design.

One can see sinister preperations taking place which should make us desire to sit the next one out. Originally, the National Guard would be used at home, but not anymore; they'll be sent into the inferno as well.

The logical assumption is that if changes to this country are desired, one must either break the will of the people into submitting to change, or do it by force. Democracy repulses monarchy. We fought against monarchy and gained freedom and independence. Yet all of the royal bloods are still in place and waiting for our failure; and probably working for it.

The million dollar question is why is there a PR campaign for Prince William? It is most definitely a PR campaign. Not to mention that they claim to be "Christian" while it is well known that daft Charles dabbles in black magic, occult, etc.

Our very freedom through this country is under attack!

Christine Erikson (aka Justina) said...

the mark signifying rejection of God and signifying evil deeds, might well be a part, but there is no need to try to understand what it is whether mystical or technological. John is very precise. It is the name or the numerological equivalent of the name or a symbol chosen by the antichrist to represent himself, and it is on the forehead OR the hand, and is given after one has performed worship to the antichrist or his image, and is proof one has done so, it is not a personal identifier of one as an individual it is an indentifier of one as a member of a group like a gang tattoo, and it is most likely a tattoo. No high tech needed. no cashless society, none of this nonsense. Businessmen and shop keepers would be under orders to not buy from or sell to anyone without this tattoo, and that would mean cash, barter, coin, or credit card. whatever. Obviously Christians and others who rejected this would secretly trade with each other though it would be illegal.

This is encouraging to me given Doug Coe's role in the "Hi Jacking of Evangelicalism" in which I detailed the interrelationships between the Institute of Noetic Sciences, Paul N.
