Was the Pentagon Shooter a New Age Pothead? EU Mediterranean University Logos?

I can't help but notice the logo on the second image(click on image to enlarge to full page) looks so very much like 3 sixes (mirror image reversed)! I found this googling for current information on "The Barcelona Process."

CLIFF KINCAID IS MY RADIO GUEST TOMORROW NIGHT!

Last week there was a shooting at the Pentagon. CNN presented an author of a book "WINGNUTS: HOW THE LUNATIC FRINGE IS HIJACKING AMERICA. " John Avalon, that author blamed the actor's mental state and his act on "right wing fanatics" which he inflammatorily termed throughout the book "HATRIOTS."

There were many problems with his thesis, not the least of which was that the dead man was a heavy marijuana user who had written papers with distinctly New Age pseudo science theories of "smart warfare." Cliff Kincaid has written a fascinating column about the pothead phenomena and its schizoid inducing tendencies. I have distinctly observed over the years that dedicated marijuana users have much more in common with the Left re Wing of American politics than the Right Wing. If there; is any intersection at all, it is with Libertarian interests; hardly Evangelical and/or Right to Life Christian ones.

Tomorrow night, 8 p.m. Eastern Time, Cliff Kincaid and I will discuss this on the air at THE MICROEFFECT.COM. Please join us both live and in the chatroom for it. On a slighty different theme, lI've placed some important information about the "holographic ministry" trends in the comments section.

Stay tuned!

I reiterate the importance of MOSAB HASSAN YOUSEF (written with Ron Brackin)'s new book, SON OF HAMAS. I think it should be required reading for all of us. I am now 60% through reading it's Kindle Edition. Kindle or book edition -- get it, read it! Amazing information and insights.

This morning, I awoke to news that Hawaii had experienced a 4.5 Earthquake. More interesting was the NBC news comment that this appeared to be "part of a string of earthquakes occurring around the world."

Netanyahu encourages Christian Zionists to stay the course

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday addressed a Christians United for Israel (CUFI) summit in Jerusalem and encouraged Christian Zionists around the world to stay the course in their defense of the Jewish state.

Netanyahu reiterated the amazing turn of events that the presence of Israel-loving Christians in the Jewish state represents after centuries of Christian persecution of Jewish minorities.

"Your presence here today represents a profound transformation in the relationship between Christians and Jews," said the prime minister. "This transformation has its roots in the 19th century when the early Christian Zionists came to the Land Israel and when they began exploring the land of the Bible, when they began to yearn for the Jewish restoration in this land, the restoration of our numbers, the restoration of our sovereignty."

Netanyahu noted the Christian Zionism actually preceded modern Jewish Zionism, and acted as a stepping stone for the reestablishment of Israeli sovereignty. In the same spirit as those 19th century Christian Zionists, Netanyahu said leaders like CUFI Director John Hagee are continuing to hold Israel aloft in both prayer and advocacy.

"Time after time, through thick and thin, you have stood shoulder to shoulder with our state, and I have come here tonight to thank you for your unwavering friendship," said Netanyahu. "I salute you, the people of Israel salute you, the Jewish people salute you."

The summit was attended by 1,000 Christian delegates and led by Hagee, who took the opportunity to reaffirm his support and the support of tens of millions of American Christians for Israel.

Wow!...

Encouraging, Glory to God for Benjamin Netanyahu and Bless all of Israel, your people.

Oh Constance what a time as this hun.

All have a wonderful day IN Jesus name.

A Detention Bill You Ought to Read More Carefully

Why is the national security community treating the "Enemy Belligerent, Interrogation, Detention, and Prosecution Act of 2010," introduced by Sens. John McCain and Joseph Lieberman on Thursday as a standard proposal, as a simple response to the administration's choices in the aftermath of the Christmas Day bombing attempt? A close reading of the bill suggests it would allow the U.S. military to detain U.S. citizens without trial indefinitely in the U.S. based on suspected activity. Read the bill here, and then read the summarized points after the jump.
According to the summary, the bill sets out a comprehensive policy for the detention, interrogation and trial of suspected enemy belligerents who are believed to have engaged in hostilities against the United States by requiring these individuals to be held in military custody, interrogated for their intelligence value and not provided with a Miranda warning.

(There is no distinction between U.S. persons--visa holders or citizens--and non-U.S. persons.)

It would require these "belligerents" to be coded as "high-value detainee[s]" to be held in military custody and interrogated for their intelligence value by a High-Value Detainee Interrogation Team established by the president. (The H.I.G., of course, was established to bring a sophisticated interrogation capacity to the federal justice system.)

I know about the research into Dr. Dobson but I think this is very telling of more of a New Age push to Focus on the Family.

On a side note, they also are doing a "restart" to their kids show, "Adventures in Odyssey". They have described it as if they had to do it all again what they would do differently. Not sure what that means, as there are several episodes that I feel promote the NAM.

Dawn,
Not certain of "change" in leadership being new age. I have liked some of things I have heard Jim Daly say, actually liked the Tim Tebow interview and heard Jim speaking truth. Perhaps it is because the things they are focusing on and moving toward are close to items on my own heart and difficulties are part and parcel to the profession. You deal with mental health you really have to sort throught the new age garbage. Now again it is still marketing of the Gospel. I actually disagree more with Dobsen's 'political' approach as well as the prospective of Dr. Hutchinson in the article mentioned.Open to hear more specific concerns, but Hutchinson view seemed a lot of nothing to me.

Ashton avoids embarassing demotion in European Parliament debate

Brussels - The European Union's foreign policy supremo avoided an embarassing demotion on Tuesday, as plans by the European Commission to avoid representation by her at a key European Parliament debate were withdrawn. Catherine Ashton is due to appear before the assembly in Strasbourg on Wednesday, to discuss her plans for the formation of the European External Action Service (EAS), an EU-wide diplomatic service seen as one of the most radical innovations introduced by the Lisbon treaty.

But according to an email exchange between two senior figures in the parliament, seen by German Press Agency dpa, commission president Jose Manuel Barroso wanted aid commissioner Andris Piebalgs to speak for the EU executive, not Ashton.

One of the sources wrote on Friday that he "heard from reliable sources that president Barroso has asked commissioner Piebalgs to attend the plenary debate ... in order to represent the commission."

"I find this not only unnecessary, since ... Ashton is going to be present in the hemicycle, but also dangerous," the top official commented.

The revelation confirmed Ashton's precarious 'double hatted' position as a "High Representative" of national governments as well as a Vice-President of the commission - a HR/VP in Brussels speak.

That leaves her in a middle of a bitter institutional struggle, as both sides she is meant to represent compete to stamp their authority on the EAS.

The same source stressed that Barroso insisting "on a separate representation for his institution" where Ashton was present was "clearly contrary to the letter and the spirit of the Treaty of Lisbon."

He also condemned attempts by the current rotating presidency of the EU, Spain, "to arrogate to themselves tasks and responsibilities which remain with the VP/HR," by representing the bloc at events Ashton is unable to attend.

The other top parliament figure responded on Tuesday, sharing the concerns of his colleague, and telling him he had been informed that Ashton would "indeed be the only member of the commission taking the floor ... during (Wednesday's) debate in plenary."

Ahead of the event, Ashton was received by the assembly's president Jerzy Buzek in Strasbourg.

"Parliament wants be a reliable partner working closely with Baroness Ashton. External relations of the European Union are our common concern and responsibility. I have assured Baroness Ashton that parliament will be an honest critic of her work," he said in a statement after the meeting.

Solana adds extra strength to peacemaking organisation

Javier Solana, who left the European Union after ten years as the High Representative for

Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) last year, joined the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD Centre) as Honorary President, announced the Swiss based private mediation organisation today.

Dr Solana will “not only represent the organisation to others, but will also contribute advice
and participate in practical peacemaking activities whenever he can add value”, according to the HD Centre, recognised as one of the world’s leading conflict mediation organisations.
“It is the HD Centre’s uniquely practical and sensitive approach to dialogue at senior levels
that made me want to collaborate with the organisation. They are already working to resolve more armed conflicts than any other private mediation organisation.” said Mr Solana.
Dr Solana, the former Foreign Minister of Spain, and Secretary General of North Atlantic
Treaty Organisation (NATO), has an unparalleled experience of negotiation in international
security and political environments.
“We are absolutely delighted that Javier Solana, Europe’s leading diplomat, has agreed to
join us. A more eminent person, with a more relevant background we could not have hoped
for.” said the HD Centre’s Director, Martin Griffiths.
“This is not only a success for the organisation, but a demonstration of our commitment to
continually improve our approach to peacemaking and mediating in armed conflict.” said
Karin Jestin, Chair of the Board of the HD Centre.

http://www.hdcentre.org/files/PR.pdf?

The HD-Center said today, Solana will "act" to this organization and also offer advice and take part in mediation "where he can add value."

Solana in late 2009 left his post as European 'Mr CFSP', who played for 10 years after another five as secretary general of NATO. On his return to Spain, the Prime Minister, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero has been commissioned to design the Spanish Security Strategy.

In addition, former Socialist minister will chair the Center for Global Economics and Geopolitics of ESADE Business School and has joined the board of trustees of the Prado Museum (plus Acciona. He is also now Senior Adviser at Brookings Institution - the Advisers of Obama).

Solana himself said the Center wants to work with HD because of its focus is "purely practical and sensitive to high-level dialogue" and that "are already working to solve more armed conflicts than any other private organization of mediation."
The Henry Dunant Center for Humanitarian Dialogue participated in preliminary discussions on the declaration of permanent ceasefire by ETA in May 2006 and also participated in mediation of conflicts in the Philippines, Central African Republic, Sudan and Myanmar (Burma) .

The center, meanwhile, said the experience "unparalleled" by Solana in trading on the political and international security. The center's director, Martin Griffiths, was delighted by the 'signing' and stressed that the HD could not aspire to have a partner with such "most eminent and most relevant experience."

Joe Biden unofficially welcomed Israel into the Union today as he met with Prime Minister Netanyahu. Biden spoke of America’s “absolute, total, unvarnished commitment to Israel['s] security.” He said also “”Bibi you heard me say before, progress occurs in the Middle East when everyone knows there is simply no space between the US and Israel. There is no space between the US and Israel when it comes to Israel’s security.”

The Census and History: It Is Not a Pretty Picture!
by Gary D. Barnett

I have been discussing the unconstitutional nature and danger of modern census taking for several years. By attempting to expose through my writing the very invasive practice of the “census,” and by educating others about the false reasoning for these government intrusions, my hope is that more and more people will contradict the accepted system by not complying with the census process. One can do this and still remain within constitutional bounds simply by refusing to give any information other than the number of people living in a particular home. This seems simple enough, but due to threats of fine or worse, and threats by the federal government to withhold tax redistributions from state, county and local communities, the populace at large continues to acquiesce to “State” pressure.

As I alluded to above, I have published several articles [see my LRC archives] concerning the census. I talked about the regular decennial census, the American Community Survey, the Economic Census and more, and I have received hundreds of responses due to these essays. Many of those whose letters I received wanted to know how much if any information they should give, and if they chose not to comply, would they risk penalties or worse. In addition to the many questions I have been asked, I have also received many, many personal stories about the abusive conduct, threats and outright aggression displayed by census takers. Some of these stories were disturbing to say the least.

Today, I received a letter from a distraught woman who has been hounded for months due to a government survey of which I was unfamiliar. It is called the Survey of Income and Program Participation or SIPP. The basis or main objective of this “mandatory” government survey is “to provide accurate and comprehensive information about the income and program participation of individuals and households in the United States, and about the principle determinates of income and participation. SIPP offers detailed information on cash and noncash income on a sub-annual basis. While I don’t believe in transfer payments (welfare), this survey affects many more than just those currently on the dole. If you think the regular census is invasive, wait until you hear about this one. cont.

Anonymous said...

One huge difference in this survey is the time and multiple interviewing processes that are evident. It is a multi-panel survey that includes primarily adults in households in the United States, interviewed at least nine times at four-month intervals and followed over the life of the panel. These surveys last 2 to 4 years, and are conducted with the same sampling of people. Because of the very extensive and long-term nature of this ridiculous survey, it has the highest non-compliance problems. Of course, logic would dictate then, that it is the least effective as far as accuracy is concerned. But don’t fear, I’m sure the Department of Commerce will continue to plow more and more money into this survey so that they can continue to “improve the quality” and “efficiency” of government programs.

In addition to all the different mandatory censuses and surveys that are ever present, the 2010 census is now also in full gear. Locally, as I’m sure is the case nationwide, census takers are aggressively attempting to gain as much information about everyone as they can. In addition to being mailed to recipients as is normal, many census packets are being hand-delivered to each household. The initial correspondence according to many I have talked to begins with threats of penalties for not completing the forms and ends with very inappropriate questions about one’s personal life and property. One of my neighbors told me that when the census taker arrived at his door, the first words out of his mouth were: “This census is mandatory and required by law, and penalties apply if it is not filled out completely.” In my opinion and just as I suspected, the 2010 census has already become the most invasive and the most advertised in history; and it has only just begun!

If you watched the Super Bowl or any other major sports event recently, especially the Winter Olympics, you must realize that there has been an absolute blitz of ads concerning the “importance” of the 2010 census. The Hollywood crowd is on board as well, and this pressure will not subside any time soon. All of you will receive your census packet in the mail or you will be blessed with a personal visit from your local census taker. The government-controlled main-stream media is certainly doing their part in promoting government intrusions into our private matters, as are area schools and local officials. Many are involved in this propaganda so the indoctrination goes on!

Lest we forget history, a reminder may be of value here. The census process is not new nor is it an American idea. It is certainly a product of government, and was used in ancient and medieval times. In fact, the world's oldest extant census data comes from China during the Han Dynasty in 2 AD. Census taking has been used over time for many reasons, probably the most apparent being for the purpose of taxation. In fact, the most developed of the ancient censuses was that of the Roman Empire, and this accounting of people and property played a crucial role in Rome’s governance because it provided a register of citizens and their property from which their duties and privileges could be listed.

The most heinous use of the census process was that of the Nazi Census System. The Hitler regime, according to Gotz Aly and Karl Heinz Roth in their book The Nazi Census, developed the techniques the Nazis employed to track, gather information, and control populations. This was the initiation of the modern system of citizen registration, and was the pioneering impetus for both the concepts and the processes of modern statistics-gathering about populations. Counts began with the collection of data concerning Germans, but ended with the specific collection of information about Jews and other minorities. The results, as everyone now knows, were devastating! One has to wonder; does this knowledge of past census fact force one to question why one of the main functions of our own decennial census is to verify race and ethnicity? cont.

Anonymous said...

The point I want to make is that data-collection by government about the citizenry is always dangerous. Future uses of this private information can never be known. Besides the fact that it is anti-liberty, it allows the state to monitor its citizens, and also sets the stage for an easier path for government to control the people. While the U.S. Census may seem harmless enough to the masses, it could eventually lead to disastrous results. Today we are not only being counted by government, but are having our private information gathered and data-based as well. Our phones are tapped, our emails are captured, our movements are watched, our financial records are monitored and warrantless search and seizure is common.

The writing is on the wall and it is clear: It says enough is enough!

Adding to the harsh rhetoric coming out of the nation is recent days, Israel’s Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon today announced that the nation was giving the West another 4-8 weeks to attempt diplomacy with Iran, and that after that they would have to impose crippling sanctions on the nation.

Israel’s threats against Iran are not new, but the growing number of US official visits in recent days are seen as being at least in part based on fear that an Israeli attack could be in the offing

PRETRIB RAPTURE POLITICS

Many are still unaware of the eccentric, 180-year-old British theory underlying the politics of American evangelicals and Christian Zionists.
Journalist and historian Dave MacPherson has spent more than 40 years focusing on the origin and spread of what is known as the apocalyptic "pretribulation rapture" - the inspiration behind Hal Lindsey's bestsellers of the 1970s and Tim LaHaye's today.
Although promoters of this endtime evacuation from earth constantly repeat their slogan that "it's imminent and always has been" (which critics view more as a sales pitch than a scriptural statement), it was unknown in all official theology and organized religion before 1830.
And MacPherson's research also reveals how hostile the pretrib rapture view has been to other faiths:
It is anti-Islam. TV preacher John Hagee has been advocating "a pre-emptive military strike against Iran." (Google "Roots of Warlike Christian Zionism.")
It is anti-Jewish. MacPherson's book "The Rapture Plot" (see Armageddon Books etc.) exposes hypocritical anti-Jewishness in even the theory's foundation.
It is anti-Catholic. Lindsey and C. I. Scofield are two of many leaders who claim that the final Antichrist will be a Roman Catholic. (Google "Pretrib Hypocrisy.")
It is anti-Protestant. For this reason no major Protestant denomination has ever adopted this escapist view.
It even has some anti-evangelical aspects. The first publication promoting this novel endtime view spoke degradingly of "the name by which the mixed multitude of modern Moabites love to be distinguished, - the Evangelical World." (MacPherson's "Plot," p. 85)
Despite the above, MacPherson proves that the "glue" that holds constantly in-fighting evangelicals together long enough to be victorious voting blocs in elections is the same "fly away" view. He notes that Jerry Falwell, when giving political speeches just before an election, would unfailingly state: "We believe in the pretribulational rapture!"
In addition to "The Rapture Plot," MacPherson's many internet articles include "Famous Rapture Watchers," "Pretrib Rapture Diehards," "Edward Irving is Unnerving," "America's Pretrib Rapture Traffickers," "Thomas Ice (Bloopers)," "Pretrib Rapture Secrecy" and "Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty" (massive plagiarism, phony doctorates, changing of early "rapture" documents in order to falsely credit John Darby with this view, etc.!).
Because of his devastating discoveries, MacPherson is now No. 1 on the "hate" list of pretrib rapture leaders!
There's no question that the leading promoters of this bizarre 19th century end-of-the-world doctrine are solidly pro-Israel and necessarily anti-Palestinian. In light of recently uncovered facts about this fringe-British-invented belief which has always been riddled with dishonesty, many are wondering why it should ever have any influence on Middle East affairs.
This Johnny-come-lately view raises millions of dollars for political agendas. Only when scholars of all faiths begin to look deeply at it and widely air its "dirty linen" will it cease to be a power. It is the one theological view no one needs!
With apologies to Winston Churchill - never has so much deception been foisted on so many by so few!

[Also Google "David Letterman's Hate, Etc."]
