Solana catches flak from Sudanese forces

UPDATE: Picture is copy of obviously sensationalist article from Pravda. It is, however, revealing of what is shaping up against Israel for coming year as ENP mid term review approaches. Click here for link to story. I'm not sure what this is about, but it is interesting, especially considering his recent hard lines on UN ordered demarcation of Israeli borders and settlements. The Sudanese situation has been one bloody mess. This just came to me on a google news alert:

United South Sudan Party (USSP)

USSP Condemns Javier Solana’s Imposition of Unity on South Sudan

Sudan Tribune of 3 September, 2009, reported European Union foreign policy chief, Javier Solana, as declaring in Cairo, Egypt, on 2 September, 2009, that…”It is very important to have that country united”, referring to the Sudan.

United South Sudan Party (USSP) joins Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) in condemning, in the strongest possible terms, Mr Solana’s proposal for a one solution (unity) for Sudan, a solution which has been tried many times since the independence of Sudan in 1956 and has failed all along. Does Mr Solana think that South Sudan’s struggle for freedom and independence since the eve of Sudan’s independence in 1956, as a result of which an estimated 3 million people have lost their lives, as something to be reversed just because of his personal and inconsiderate wishes? Mr Solana’s stand shows that, because he lives a comfortable and dignified life under independence and freedom, he does not actually care how those of us in places such as South Sudan suffer from oppression, humiliation, dehumanisation and indignity. Mr Solana, who is a leader in a democratic system, thinks democratic rights are an exclusive prerogative of only certain types of human beings like himself and his friends in Northern Sudan and Egypt. What right does Mr Solana have of undoing what has been done through a great deal of effort by many international bodies and governments and which has culminated in the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA)? Organisations such as IGAD and governments such as the United States of America, United Kingdom, Norway and others that have been genuinely impartial, worked tirelessly to try and find a just solution to the irreconcilable differences between South Sudan and Northern Sudan and that is why we have the CPA today which empowers the oppressed people of South Sudan to exercise their democratic right of free choice. Here, Mr Solana, who is supposed to uphold democracy, is, in fact, trying to deny South Sudan of that very democratic right. What a double standard?

Any peace loving nations of the world should pay no heed to what Mr Solana is advocating because his suggestion is the surest way to plunge South Sudan into another round of civil war and further loss of human lives. The surest way to sustain the current fragile peace and make it permanent is to support the total and transparent implementation of the CPA and to allow South Sudanese to make their free choice.

Another thing Mr Solana needs to know is that much of the insecurity in South Sudan is actually created by Northern Sudan. Incidents of Khartoum-backed Janjaweed who make incursions into South Sudan to loot, burn villages and kidnap women and children, is well documented. It is common knowledge in South Sudan, and Mr Solana may carry out his own research to establish the facts for himself, that Khartoum has all along supported the Ugandan rebels, Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), who are presently causing insecurity and havoc in South Sudan. Khartoum has also been arming militia in South Sudan. Khartoum has time and again used the tactic of ‘divide and rule’ in South Sudan to cause conflict among South Sudanese in order to further its own agenda. This means that, once Khartoum’s influence has been cut off, South Sudan will settle down much more harmoniously than at present. So, the case for the independence of South Sudan is more compelling than any alternative arrangement. However, what is more acceptable is to let the democratic process of allowing the people of South Sudan to choose for themselves what they want, instead of Mr Solana imposing an unpopular solution on them because that approach reminds us of colonialism!

USSP wants to assure concerned individuals, organisations and nations that South Sudan will be a viable nation under a proper leadership. The present poor image which hangs over South Sudan is just because of an unelected poor leadership. Things will be much, much better under a democratically elected competent South Sudanese leadership. Therefore, South Sudan should not be denied its right.

This is way to complex for me to understand what is between the lines.
Are posters implying that Islamic forces and entities are encouraged by the "West" (i.e. Clinton administration and Solana) to take over enforcement in ethnically divided nations such as in the Balkans and in Sudan; and that the same thing will be encouraged in Israel? This is what I think you are saying.

The question is why? People like Clinton and Solana and their ilk are not Moslems. They are said to be NWO leaders, but NWO is not synonymous with Moslems is it?

Please shed some light on what this means as I am in the dark. Maybe better to stay in the dark as this is getting too far into the unknown.

Mariel,

I'm not sure I understand it all either. After all, confusion was never God's game. That belongs to the other side. HOWEVER, Kosovo as a religious capital was taken from the Orthodox Serbs. Jerusalem is the religious capital of the Jews. The EU whose foreign policy is currently headed by Solana is putting pressures upon Israel vis a vis Jerusalem very similar to those placed upon Serbia vis a vis Kosovo. It appears to me that the persecuted factions in Sudan would like partition of the country to prevent northern Janjaweed forces from assaulting them and the EU / Solana is arguing that there must be NO partition, whereas he is insisting upon partition for Israel/Jerusalem and Serbia/Kosovo.

I don't even pretend to be an expert on the Sudanese situation. The story was a surprise to me this morning. It does indicate to me that as of late Javier Solana is hardening his various stances.

Here is material from another story on the Sudanese situation:

http://www.sudanvisiondaily.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=49193

or http://tinyurl.com/nyns5n

"CAIRO, ST
European Union (EU)’s foreign policy Chief Javier Solana said today in favor of unity of Sudan as opposed to the establishment to an independent state in southern Sudan. The 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) stipulates that a referendum is to be held

in 2011 by which Southern Sudanese will vote to decide on whether they want to have their own state or remain part of united Sudan.
The separation of southern Sudan is seen as a possible source of troubles and instability in Sudan and the region by some Western and regional countries.
The shaky implementation of the CPA is leading many diplomats to view a need to postpone the referendum and seek to ensure some interdependence between two entities in the country.
However, the southern Sudan ruling party said it rejects any delay and considers referendum 2011 as red line.
"It is very important to have that country united," Solana told reporters in Cairo after talks with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Arab League Chief Amr Moussa.
"I do look at the map, I do look at the distribution of resources, I do look at the situation... I am for the unity of the country," he further said.
Last June the EU organized a meeting in Paris on the future of Sudan where some 40 experts took part.
The participants agreed on the need to promote dialogue between north and south Sudan to avoid war between the two parties.
Southern Sudan oil was seen limited and would not ensure a financial sustainability for a future state. Also the exploitation of oil reserves implies cooperation with the north as the south has no pipelines or refineries and the construction of such infrastructure need money and time.
Furthermore the southern heavy crude was seen as difficult to transport though the mountainous region of east Africa.
The US special envoy to Sudan Scott Gration is exerting efforts to facilitate an advancing implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) in order to avoid political vacuum between the signatories.
The International experts also expressed fears over the negative impact of southern Sudan independence on Darfur the three areas and eastern Sudan.
On the other hand, some experts consider southern Sudan independence as a sole solution for the conflict and supported separation insisting the Islamist regime in Khartoum would not implement the needed arrangements to make coexistence possible between the two parts of the country.
Sudan People Liberation Movement (SPLM) issued a strong rebuke to statements made by Solana today.
Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth, head of Southern Sudan’s mission to the United States told Voice of America (VOA) that Solana’s statement was ill-advised.
"The statement is not in line with the CPA spirit because in the CPA one of the options is united Sudan and another option is separation of the south to be an independent state. So, yes all of us have agreed that we are going to make unity attractive to the southerners so that they can vote for unity in 2011. But if the unity is not attractive to them at all, then they also have another option, which is separation," Gatkuoth said.
"It will not be wise for one person or individual to say that this is the only option that the people of Southern Sudan should explore… we want to say to the EU that in the CPA there are two options," he added.""

This made me smile because while I too applaud their courage I wonder if Solana knows who he is messing with and my guess is no he does not - a people that have been so ravaged and yet still fight back is a people with nothing to lose - an extremely formidable foe. And many southerners are Christian as well...

Add to the mix China which has oil interests in the southern region and which has given the northern Arab government the greenlight in their genocidal campaign against the south - it absolutely reeks to high heaven and is steeped in the blood of innocents and I hope Solana chokes on it big time.

THEY JUST "ACCIDENTLY" HAPPEN TO LEAVE A LITTLE BIT TOO MUCH OF IT IN THERE?

FLU VACCINES AND THE RISK OF CANCER

Dr. Sherri Tenpenny, DO
September 4, 2009
Much concern has been generated over the upcoming new swine flu H1N1 vaccines that are being rushed to market. Clinical trials will be short – less than three weeks – and the potential for the addition of toxic oil-in-water adjuvants to be added at the last minute to stretch the vaccine supply is disconcerting. However, the problems with flu shots go beyond current concerns. The new manufacturing process for flu shots, called cell-line technologies, are little understood and have the potential for serious, long term consequences.

Manufacturing the “regular,” annual flu shot
Each year, between January and March, an FDA advisory panel selects the three influenza strains expected to be in circulation during the upcoming flu season. Admitting that the process is an “educated guess,” the CDC sends the selected seed virus to the FDA for approval prior. Seed virus is then distributed to manufacturers for production.
The annual flu shot contains three viral strains: two type influenza A viruses and one type influenza B. Most commonly, two of the viruses are the same viruses included in the preceding year’s shot. The third virus is typically a new strain in circulation. This is the purported reason for giving the shot each year. The new strain is modified through a laboratory process called reassortment to ensure that it can readily grow in eggs. Once the modification is complete, all three viruses proceed through tricky manufacturing steps to create what goes in that vial.
The cumbersome flu shot production process utilizes up to 500,000 fertilized chicken eggs per day for up to eight months. Hundreds of millions of fertilized eggs become “mini-incubators” for cultured viruses. When the chick embryos are 11-days old, the amniotic membrane (the egg white) is manually injected with a drop of viral-containing solution. Several days later, the gooey viral suspension is centrifuged to remove as much chicken blood and tissue from the solution as possible. Residual egg protein remains within the final vaccine solution and is the reason why persons with an egg allergy are advised against receiving the flu shot.
The entire process, from viral selection to viral harvest, can take up to nine months.[1] With the potential for a pandemic and the Director General of the WHO, Margaret Chan, requesting up to 4.9 billion of flu shots to vaccinate the world,[2] the slow lead time and labor-intensive production process cannot meet the demand for massive quantities of pandemic flu vaccine.

Enter Cell Line Technology
Cell line technologies, the use of cells and tissues for growing viruses found in vaccines, have been used since the 1950s. Examples include calf lymph for smallpox vaccines; African green monkey cells (AGMK cells) for polio vaccines and mouse brain cells for the Japanese encephalitis vaccine. In the 1960s, cells from aborted human fetal tissue, called MRC-5 and WI-38 cells, were developed and are still used for the manufacture of rubella chickenpox, hepatitis A and shingles vaccines.
Since the early 2000s, dozens of human and animal tissues have been investigated for use in viral vaccines, especially for the production of influenza shots. Batches of vaccine can be produced in less than six weeks instead of just one crop per year with eggs, a particularly useful methodology for ramping up production of flu shots. While many of the new cell lines are still considered experimental, cell line techniques have attracted all the major players in the vaccine and biotech industry.
Prior to 2007, cell lines were little used for flu shots, primarily for logistical reasons: Flu shots made from cells instead of eggs required a complete retooling of existing production facilities. None of the manufacturers were willing to invest the hundreds of millions of dollars and the five to seven years to construct new vaccine plants. But when the threat of the bird flu pandemic was hyped in 2006, the government opened is coffers and spilled billions of dollars into the pockets of the drug companies, giving them the capital to build new flu shot production facilities. By 2012, the first cell line factory will be completed in North Carolina. Vaccine giant, Novartis, will then have the capacity to produce 150 million flu shots per year, making it the number one commercial production plant for influenza vaccines and the adjuvant MF-59, in the world.

Cell Cultures: The Next Frontier in Vaccine Production
Several cell lines are currently under investigation. Novartis’ EU-approved flu shot, Optaflu, was produced using a cell line called Madin-Darby (MDCK), cells extracted from the kidneys of a female cocker spaniel. Dutch giant, Solvay Pharmaceuticals, has been working with MDCK cells since the early 1990s.
Another independent company, Protein Sciences Corporation, has been working on a patented influenza vaccine produced from caterpillar eggs. This vaccine strategy, known commercially as FluBlok, isolates a purified concentration of (H) antigen on the surface of an influenza virus and inserts the antigen into a second virus called a baculovirus. The (H)-containing baculovirus is then inserted into insect cells growing in culture. Several clinical trials involving the bug-created vaccine have shown that the antigens elicit a strong antibody response in humans.[3] The vaccine, no doubt, contains snips of insect DNA. This technology is being tested in Europe and is not yet approved for use in the US.

A third type of cell line, called PER.C6 cells, is derived from retinal cells of aborted fetal tissues. The fetal cells are transformed by infecting them with an adenovirus, turning them into “immortalized” cells and the capability to replicate endlessly. By their very nature, these cells are neoplastic (cancer-causing); researchers refer to them as “oncogenic” cells. If tumors are formed when the cells are injected into experimental animals, the cell lines are beyond oncogenic; they are tumorigenic.

A serious concern about whole, live PER.C6 cells is that they are capable of causing tumors when transplanted into the skin of mice. The FDA requires a filtration method to be used during vaccine production that is designed to removes all cells before the final product is packaged. Even though several studies have been conducted to assure vaccine developers that PER.C6 cells do not cause cancer and do not contain stray tumor causing viruses,[4] the risk of the cells making their way into the final vaccine products remain.
The risks of residual retinal DNA and stray viral contaminants from the animal tissues getting into flu shots are real. DNA snips are classified as either “infectious” or “oncogenic” by researchers who worry that the stray DNA is being incorporated into the recipient’s DNA, even thought FDA regulations insist on the “importance of minimizing the risk of oncogenesis in vaccine recipients.” Manufacturers have been instructed to ensure the final vaccine contains less than 1 million residual animal cells and the amount of stray DNA is less than 10 ng. per vaccine.[5] These regulations admit that animal DNA is injected into human babies and adults with every shot.
[NWV Poll: According to Fox News, 50% of US health care workers will refuse H1N1 vaccine. What will you do?]

Is every lot tested for purity and these parameters?
No. Spot-checked lots are sent to the FDA and the FDA trusts the word of vaccine manufacturers that these standards have been met.
Tumorigenic Cells: The Risks Are Known
Since 1998, the FDA and its subdivision, the Centers for Biological Evaluation and Research (CBER), have been drafting regulations to allow use of both oncogenic and tumorigenic cell lines to be used in vaccine production. The FDA is fully aware that the new cell lines, especially the PER.C6 cells, have substantial risks, including the risk of potentially deadly adventitious [stray, outside] viruses making their way into shots. For example, the FDA acknowledges that the SV 40 virus (simian virus 40 from monkey kidney cells) was in the early polio vaccines and acknowledges the risks:
“The experience in the early 1960s with SV40 contamination of poliovirus and adenovirus vaccines and the continuing questions regarding whether SV40 could be responsible for some human neoplasms [cancers] underscores the importance of keeping viral vaccines free of adventitious agents [viral contaminants].
This is particularly important when there is a theoretical potential for contamination of a vaccine with viruses that might be associated with neoplasia [cancer]…It is unclear whether cell substrates have a greater or lower risk [of contamination] than other types of cells…However, if their growth in tissue culture is not well controlled, there may be additional opportunities for contamination…”[6]
And it gets worse.
The same FDA memo goes on to say:
“In addition to the possibility of contamination of cell substrates with adventitious viruses…the use of immortalized, neoplastic human cells to develop [vaccines] raises theoretical concerns with regard to possible contamination with TSE/BSE agents.”[7]
TSE is Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy, a condition that includes a group of rare degenerative brain disorders characterized by tiny holes in the brain tissues, giving a “spongy” appearance when viewed under a microscope. When this condition occurs in cows, it is called Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy, commonly known as “mad cow disease.” In a study published in 2004, researchers found that any cell line could potentially support the propagation of TSE agents.[8]
Clearly, CBER is aware and disquieted over the carcinogenic potential of animal cells in vaccines because they require manufacturers to take “every available precautionary step” to eliminate the suspicious cells from the vaccine final product. The FDA also admits concerns about cancer-causing possibility from all types of cell lines. The question begging to be answered is, knowing the potential risks of using cell lines to create vaccines, why is research using cell line technologies allowed to be used at all?
Despite substantial evidence—and even admissions of concern—the FDA appears to be flagrantly ignoring the potential for harm caused by this new cell line technology. The U.S. government have poured billions of dollars into flu shot development and is recklessly approving the use of cell lines for products that have a questionable necessary pandemic vaccine.

For those of us who don't get immunizations because they are unclean, we are reassured of our decision. For others, you have the right to know what that what will be injected into your body probably contains some aborted child.

VAN JONES RESIGNS . . .

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama's adviser Van Jones has resigned amid controversy over past inflammatory statements, the White House said early Sunday.
Jones, an administration official specializing in environmentally friendly "green jobs" with the White House Council on Environmental Quality was linked to efforts suggesting a government role in the 2001 terror attacks and to derogatory comments about Republicans.
The resignation comes as Obama is working to regain his footing in the contentious health care debate.
Jones issued an apology on Thursday for his past statements. When asked the next day whether Obama still had confidence in him, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said only that Jones "continues to work in the administration."
The matter surfaced after news reports of a derogatory comment Jones made in the past about Republicans, and separately, of Jones' name appearing on a petition connected to the events surrounding the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks. That 2004 petition had asked for congressional hearings and other investigations into whether high-level government officials had allowed the attacks to occur.
"On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me," Jones said in his resignation statement. "They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide."
Jones said he has been "inundated with calls from across the political spectrum urging me to stay and fight."
But he said he cannot in good conscience ask his colleagues to spend time and energy defending or explaining his past.
Jones flatly said in an earlier statement that he did not agree with the petition's stand on the 9/11 attacks and that "it certainly does not reflect my views, now or ever."
As for his other comments he made before joining Obama's team, Jones said, "If I have offended anyone with statements I made in the past, I apologize."
Despite his apologies, Republicans demanded Jones quit.
Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana said in a statement, "His extremist views and coarse rhetoric have no place in this administration or the public debate." Missouri Sen. Christopher Bonds said Congress should investigate Jones's fitness the job.
Fox News Channel host Glenn Beck repeatedly denounced Jones after a group the adviser co-founded, ColorofChange.org, led an advertising boycott against Beck's show to protest his claim that Obama is a racist.
James Rucker, the organization's executive director, has said Jones had nothing to do with ColorofChange.org now and didn't even know about the campaign before it started.
Jones, well-known in the environmental movement, was a civil-rights activist in California before shifting his attention to environmental and energy issues. He is known for laying out a broad vision of a green economy.
Nancy Sutley chair of the council, said in a statement released early Sunday that she accepts Jones resignation and thanked him for his service.
"Over the last six months, he had been a strong voice for creating jobs that improve energy efficiency and utilize renewable resources," she said. "We appreciate his hard work and wish him the best moving forward."

Suzette, thank you for that exposition of what is in vaccinations.
I did not know that aborted fetal tissue was among the bad stuff. This
is even worse than one might think.

"Scientists" would say that I am being unscientific. Whatever they say, I will not have the shots.

FYI, I had double vision for one day after I took the first Polio vaccination many years ago. Fortunately this did not "last". But later I did have double vision for eight years as part of a the neurological ailment which finally got diagnosed in mid-life. I got all over the double vision at a healing service,as recorded by my neuro-opthalmologist, but I had it for eight years. I doubt if it came from the much-earlier polio shot, but who knows? All these poisons take a toll neurologically.
Most we fight off, but there may come a tipping point at which we can no longer fight them off.

I think those of us who oppose abortion can refuse shots which will have fetal tissue in them on religious grounds. I oppose the coming flu shot on the grounds that it has mercury in it, and I have already been shown to have intense neurological reaction to Thimerisol in shots. I have a letter from my pcp on this, hope it works.

More on "cell lines" and immortal cells. I wonder if my illness Polycythemia Vera (my newer illness)
is related to "immortal cell lines". It comes from a mutated stem cell--no one knows for sure how it gets mutated, but it produces the relatively rare diseases called Myeloproliferative Disorders, which have just been reclassified by the WHO as "cancer", even though the cells are not malignant, but just too highly proliferative. The single cell keeps multiplying and the turn-off switch does not seem to work. The treatments include phlebotomies for some, and chemo for others, such as Interferon and Hydroxyurea, which beat back the proliferating cells.

After all these years of living healthy to cope with my inborn disease, now I have this. It could have come from a sun particle which happened to hit me, not necessarily from human pollution, but no one knows. In any case, it shows us that the natural world is not a whole lot more friendly than the synthetic world of pharma. It's all
compromised, just as the Bible tells us, does it not? "Prevention" may or may not work. Yes, as Gov. Huck tells us, Prevention is important, but it's not utterly reliable.

INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY MOVEMENT

The International Solidarity Movement (ISM) is a Palestinian-led organization focused on assisting the Palestinian side of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict using protest activities aimed at an international audience. It was founded in 2001 by Ghassan Andoni, a Palestinian activist; Neta Golan, an Israeli activist; Huwaida Arraf, a Palestinian-American; and George N. Rishmawi, a Palestinian activist. Adam Shapiro, an American, joined the movement shortly after its founding and is also often considered one of the founders.

The organization calls on civilians from around the world to participate in acts of non-violent protests against the Israeli military in the West Bank and previously the Gaza Strip. It has recently been criticised for working alongside other groups to pressure Palestinian artists to boycott the One Voice Peace Summit and for helping to undermine the Summit by creating a competing event. ISM and affiliated groups critical of the Summit say that One Voice fails to fully support Palestinian rights guaranteed under international law.

This is an article by Starkawk from 2004 when President George W. Bush ran for a second term against Senator John F. Kerry:

THE ROAD FORWARD

By Starhawk

On election night, I felt an intensity of grief, rage and anguish that rivaled any of the worst nights of my life. Not so much that Kerry lost, but that millions of people could vote for Bush, apparently because they define ‘morality’ as preventing two people who love each other from making a legally-recognized commitment, while turning a blind eye to a regime that has invaded another country for totally invalidated reasons, lied to the American people, legitimized sexual torture, and all the rest of it. It’s enough to challenge one’s faith not just in Americans, but in the essential goodness of human beings. Can we apply to join another species? The wolves, perhaps?

I want to acknowledge my own grief, rage and despair. People often look to me for words of hope—and I have some—but they come only when I let myself feel just as rotten and awful as I’m sure you do. Van Jones, organizer of Books Not Bars here in the Bay Area, says we need to learn to grieve as a movement, and also to celebrate—and the two are linked. Books Not Bars is an appendage of the Ella Baker Center for which Van Jones has served as founder and National Executive Director.

Jones' Ella Baker Center along with his revolutionary organization called STORM led a vigil Sept. 12, 2001, at Snow Park in Oakland, Calif.

"to express solidarity with Arab and Muslim Americans and to mourn the civilians killed in the terrorist attacks "as well as the victims of U.S. imperialism around the world."

Have you seen any of Dr. Lorraine Day's information? She was cured of cancer from her death bed with a Biblical regimine. Here is her website

http://www.drday.com/

Also it isn't just flu vaccines that utilize aborted fetal tissue, it's chickenpox, rubella, hepatitus A, polio and others. For some like Chickenpox, Hep A and Rubella, THERE IS NO OTHER SOURCE.

I cannot imagine what issues we have brought upon us from this evil practice.

May you find healing either through our Heavenly Father's provision or Yahshuah's miraculous touch.

Shalom
