THE ALLIANCE OF CIVILIZATIONS - TONIGHT'S PROGRAM

Rich Peterson (Rich of Medford) is continuing his in depth assessment of the Alliance of Civilisations and I am joining him in that endeavor. Rich is convinced that the British government published ban of travelers to its country, including but not limited to American broadcaster Michael Savage, is a part of the AOC thrust. I have my deep suspicions on the recently released report alleging violence and humiliation by Irish Catholic schools run by the Christian Brothers through 1990. I am suspecting that this might be part of the developing rationale to stifle private religious education -- worldwide. The Alliance of Civilizations has commissoned studies on "humiliation" to be used in shaping future laws on curriculum development and religious school management. Rich and I will be discussing this on the air tonight from 8 to 9 p.m. eastern time, 7 to 8 central time, 6 to 7 mountain time and 5 to 6 Pacific time.

I personally believe that the issue is not Muslim extremism -- the New Agers despise the Moslems as much as anybody else they define as "peoples of the book."  The strategy as I see it is to pit all world "fundamentalists" off against each other while simultaneously being undermined by termites from within -- apostates.  Then, they, the New Agers / cultural creatives / etc. et al will be as they see it the Phoenix to arise from our ashes.  The New Age face of the Muslim world are the Sufis.   Already prominent analyses are being advanced to show that Sufism is the "antidote" to Muslim fundamentalism.  The same folk undoubtedly think that New Ageism is the antidote to Christian fundamentalism!

Please read
Rich's most recent article on the Alliance of Civilisations / Alliance of Civilizations and its probable ties to the British situation.

Michael Savage, An Alliance of Civilizations Trial Run?

by Richard Peterson

From its earliest stages, the Alliance of Civilizations initiative found itself an ally named Britain. Tony Blair, reportedly a new ager, gifted the Alliance with Britain’s approval before the initiative had even launched. The spontaneous cartoon crisis yielded further British endorsement when Charles, Prince of Whales, called for the “at-one-ment” of all the world’s faiths through adoption the Alliance of Civilizations and Interfaith Reconciliation. “At-one-ment” is a new age doctrine said to join together individuals attuned to a collective global consciousness whereby religious and political ideologies which cause separation are to be set aside in favor of a common value system. This common set of values is to become the foundation upon which the new civilization is built. The Alliance of Civilizations is one such interfaith initiative responsible for defining that common value system. The difference between the Alliance and other interfaith efforts is that the Alliance has been incorporated into military strategy thus giving it lion’s teeth. The Alliance has set forth to establish a global conscience which UN signatory nations are to adopt in implementation of the Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy. The Alliance has focused a great deal of effort attempting to unifying Islam with the West by heaping heavy scorn upon the West while praising Muslim nations for their contributions to modern civilization.

UK Parliamentary records further exhibit Britain’s participation in the Alliance of Civilizations and calls for other nations to follow their example. British Minister for International Development Shahid Malikis is Britain’s representative for the Alliance of Civilizations. According to Malikis, the UK favors tackling radicalization and that “true Islam is a key part of the solution to extremism in the name of Islam”. Malikis statement reminds me of the Alice Bailey doctrine on the partial sealing of the door where evil dwells which says:

  • “…Palestine should no longer be called the Holy Land; its sacred places are only the passing relics of three dead and gone religions. The spirit has gone out of the old faiths and the true spiritual light is transferring itself into a new form which will manifest on earth eventually as the new world religion. To this form all that is true and right and good in the old forms will contribute, for the forces of right will withdraw that good, and incorporate it in the new form. Judaism is old, obsolete and separative and has no true message for the spiritually-minded which cannot be better given by the newer faiths; the Moslem faith has served its purpose and all true Moslems await the coming of the Imam Mahdi who will lead them to light and to spiritual victory; the Christian faith also has served its purpose; its Founder seeks to bring a new Gospel and a new message that will enlighten all men everywhere…”

Bailey’s “true Moslems”, I believe, are those practicing Islamic mysticism, the Sufis. Today, Sufism is being portrayed to the westerners as the peaceful moderates of Islam who are valuable allies in the war against extremism which dismisses the Al-Qaeda ties to Sufism. (Additional criticisms of Sufism may be found here, here, and here.)

This would leave one to wonder why some of the British leadership would turn to “the most ferocious soldiers of Islam” and embrace a set of “common values” which are being defined by individuals who are hostile towards the West. One British MP of specific interests is counter-terrorism Home Secretary Jacqui Smith who praised the Sufis for providing a template of values in which we can live.

Smith made recent headlines when she included U.S. talk radio host Michael Savage among terrorists who are not permitted to enter Britain. Here are links to the official exclusion list along with the Smith’s announcement to Parliament.

Michael Savage is known for his conservative views and his opposition to global governance, communist ideology, illegal immigration, homosexual behavior, etc. Savage is a defender of national sovereignty. Overall, Michael Savage does not appear to share the Alliance of Civilizations values system and world view. Savage’s ideology is one which the Alliance considers exclusionary; intolerant; and violently radicalizing.

As I read Smith’s statements why she banned Michael Savage from Britain, I couldn’t help but notice the identities in her language and the corresponding Alliance of Civilizations’ Terms of Reference. According to Alliance, “to guide this initiative, the Secretary-General, in consultation with the co-sponsors, has established a High-level Group of eminent persons with the following objectives:

  • To provide an assessment of new and emerging threats to international peace and security in particular the political, social and religious forces that foment extremism;
  • To identify collective actions, at both the institutional and civil society levels, to address these trends;
  • To recommend a practicable programme of action for States, international organizations and civil society aimed at promoting harmony among societies.”

“Toward this end, the High-level Group will consider practical strategies:
  • To strengthen mutual understanding, respect and shared values among different peoples, cultures and civilizations;
  • To counter the influence of groups fomenting extremism and the exclusion of others who do not share their worldviews;
  • To counter the threat to world peace and stability posed by extremism;
  • To foster awareness in all societies that security is indivisible and is a vital need for all, and that global cooperation is an indispensable prerequisite for security, stability and development.

As I read Smith’s rationale for naming Savage amongst terrorists, I began to suspect she had applied Alliance of Civilizations’ guidelines which guided her to the conclusion he is a terrorist. According to Smith:

  • "I think it's important that people understand the sorts of values and sorts of standards that we have here the fact that it's a privilege to come and the sort of things that mean you won't be welcome in this country,"
  • "Coming to this country is a privilege. If you can't live by the rules that we live by, the standards and values that we live by, we should exclude you from this country and, what's more, now we will make public those people that we have excluded.
  • "This is someone who has fallen into the category of fomenting hatred, of such extreme views and expressing them in such a way that it is actually likely to cause inter-community tension or even violence if that person were allowed into the country”
  • "If people have so clearly overstepped the mark in terms of the way not just that they are talking but the sort of attitudes that they are expressing to the extent that we think that this is likely to cause or have the potential to cause violence or inter-community tension in this country, then actually I think the right thing is not to let them into the country in the first place. Not to open the stable door then try to close it later," Ms Smith said.

What about individuals presently living in Britain who violate these shared values? It may be worth taking a second look at Gordon Brown’s advisor who recently called for the UK population be reduced by one half.

Noteworthy is that dissenting voice in Britain named Melanie Phillips has also noticed the Alliance of Civilizations influence over British politics. Phillips writes “much of the problem is that the government’s advisers and civil servants have had their heads filled with the revisionist and ahistorical rubbish about Islam produced by authors such as Karen Armstrong or John Esposito.” Incidentally, Malaysia banned Karen Armstrong and John Esposito’s books citing reasons that they disrupted peace and harmony.

Michael Savage has raised an excellent question: how did his name reach the Home Secretary Jacqui Smith’s desk? For now, I can only speculate. Yet as I look at people and organizations I believe may share an interest in seeing Michael Savage disappear from the air waves, one common connection keeps coming up. That is the Alliance of Civilizations.

United States Department of Homeland Security

Michael Savage has named Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano in a lawsuit charging her with violation of Americans’ civil rights by subjecting them to unfavorable treatment based upon their political ideologies. Under the Bush Administration the United States privately supported the Alliance of Civilizations yet sent no high-level representation to AoC forums. President Obama’s has changed the tone by personally attending a dinner where he was expected to speak at the Second Alliance of Civilizations Forum. The Alliance of Civilizations’ doctrines are already noticeable in U.S. counter-terrorism materials.

Council of American-Islamic Relations

The Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is an organization which has pursued interfaith dialogue as a means to resolve the clash among civilizations. Some of CAIR’s speakers favor Sufism and present it as the more peaceful aspect of Islam. Citations from CAIR’s material can be found in Alliance of Civilizations’ reports. The CAIR-Alliance relationship is most noticeable in its associations with Shaykh Hamza Yusuf and Alliance High Level Group members Mohammad Khatami and John Esposito. CAIR is a signatory of a Common Word which interconnects with Religions for Peace and the Alliance of Civilizations initiatives.

CAIR is an organization having a contentious relationship with Michael Savage. Despite CAIR’s claims that it does not support Britain’s ban of Michael Savage, it is behind Hate Hurts America, an interfaith dialogue organization calling upon companies to withdraw advertisements from Savage broadcasts for his criticisms of Islam. The FBI has recently severed ties with CAIR for its involvement with a Hamas a terrorist organization.

Bill Moyers

Michael Savage posted on his web site an article by the American Thinker which questions whether Bill Moyers “helped to set the stage for the latest UK-based demonization of Savage” by portraying him an extremist who promotes violent radicalization. Bill Moyers is an advocate of interfaith dialogue. Among his advisors is Karen Armstrong, High Level Group member of the Alliance of Civilizations.

In the upcoming days, we will hopefully learn of Jacqui Smith’s decision-making process to include Savage on Britain’s terrorist list. Regardless of how it happened, we are witnessing a fore shadow of what we might expect from the Alliance of Civilizations’ global conscience, global counter-terrorism efforts. Michael Savage is among the first to find himself within the Alliance of Civilizations’ domain which it has claimed for itself. Savage is a major media personality standing at the intersection of politics and religion.

May the Lord help Michael Savage. May the Lord help us all.

Constance,

I am deeply saddened by the reports of abuse in those Irish schools, but I would like to see similar media outrage over Political parties in Europe trying to legalize pedophilia, gender selective abortions in Sweden or the American Psychiatric Association calling pedophilia a "sexual orientation", or hate crime bills that extend special legal protection to convicted sex offenders. The National Post recently had an article supporting child pornography saying it doesn't cause crimes.

As, for the Muslims they have fallen for the bait and are being used by the New Age to fight the other two .

MAX PLANCK INSTITUTE TO ESTABLISH A FLORIDA INSTITUTE (December 4, 2007)

On November 23, 2007, the Senate of the Max Planck Society gave its approval for the establishment of the Society’s first overseas institute in the USA.
The Max Planck Florida Institute is expected to start work as early as 2008 on the Jupiter Campus of Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in the immediate vicinity of the Scripps Research Institute. In September 2007, local authority Palm Beach County in the State of Florida unanimously approved 87 million US dollars in funding for the next ten years.

The Max Planck Society now awaits the decision of the Governor of the State of Florida for a further support in excess of 90 million dollars. This would mean that the Institute will be financed exclusively out of US funds. The establishment of this legally independent Institute is part of the Max Planck Society’s internationalization strategy.....

PALM BEACH COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS APPROVES GRANT AGREEMENT FOR MAX PLANCK FLORIDA INSTITUTE

Momentous decision brings world class research organization to County’s life sciences cluster, and the effects "… will be measured in historic proportions."

Following unanimous approval by the seven members of the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, for the first time in its 60-year history(???) Germany’s Max Planck Society has established an Institute in the United States.

The County approved the allocation of $86.9 million to build and operate a 100,000 sq. ft. biomedical research facility called the Max Planck Florida Institute.

It will be located near Scripps Florida on six acres at Florida Atlantic University’s (FAU) MacArthur campus in Jupiter. The total value of the agreement with the county and partners in the deal, including FAU, is $94 million, with a 50-year sub-lease on land worth approximately $6 million and the balance allocated to items such as rent on a temporary facility and waived impact fees from the Town of Jupiter. On March 12, the Florida Governor’s Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development signed an agreement for $94 million from the state’s Innovation Incentive Fund, of which $10 million has been disbursed.

RESULTS OF FIRST MULTICENTER TRIAL OF INTERCESSORY PRAYER HEALING TOUCH IN HEART PATIENTS (2005)

.....The study marks the first time rigorous scientific protocols have been applied on a large scale to some of the world's most ancient healing traditions, the authors said, and the trends they observed may yield important clues to understanding the role of the human spirit in modern, technology-laden cardiovascular healthcare.

"Prayers for the sick and healing-touch are among the most widely practiced healing traditions around the world," said Mitchell Krucoff, MD, interventional cardiologist at Duke and lead author of the study. "As widespread as these practices are, few rigorous studies exist to explain any mechanism of action or reliable measures of safety or effectiveness. While many of us are fascinated culturally or philosophically with the mystery of healing and prayer, for the practice of medicine we need to understand these phenomena with data-driven insight."........

B.O. IS CONSIDERING "PREVENTATIVE DETENTION PLAN"-
"WASHINGTON — President Obama told human rights advocates at the White House on Wednesday that he was mulling the need for a “preventive detention” system that would establish a legal basis for the United States to incarcerate terrorism suspects who are deemed a threat to national security but cannot be tried, two participants in the private session said."

"Human rights advocates are growing deeply uneasy with Mr. Obama’s stance on these issues, especially his recent move to block the release of photographs showing abuse of detainees, and his announcement that he is willing to try terrorism suspects in military commissions — a concept he criticized bitterly as a presidential candidate."

"The two participants, outsiders who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the session was intended to be off the record, said they left the meeting dismayed."

"They said Mr. Obama told them he was thinking about “the long game” — how to establish a legal system that would endure for future presidents. He raised the issue of preventive detention himself, but made clear that he had not made a decision on it."

"'He was almost ruminating over the need for statutory change to the laws so that we can deal with individuals who we can’t charge and detain,' one participant said. 'We’ve known this is on the horizon for many years, but we were able to hold it off with George Bush. The idea that we might find ourselves fighting with the Obama administration over these powers is really stunning.'"

The abuse referred to in Ireland was in now closed, some closed 40 years ago, residential industrial schools that cared for abandoned, imporvrished, orphaned and truant boys. Most boys were very poor and taught trades for future employment. The schools were state funded and overseen by both the state and the religious orders that ran them. They were not private.

The Irish Commission has thoroughly investigated and detailed the physical and sexual abuse which went on particularily in Christian Brother facilities. Their was also a lack of adequate care like food and heat due to the low stipends paid by the state for the care of the students. The emergence of foster care and adoption as well as improved economic conditions rendered these facilities unnecessary in Ireland. Nonetheless, much horror was visited on the residents. The report is more about systemic failure to protect children rather than religious intollerance.

Anonymous said...

I just want to add that the report about the Irish Industrial Schools is about the criminalization of youth born into poverty. The historical use of such facilities was rampant in the entire British Isles. The Christian Brothers operated such schools in the US as well as regular high schools. They too have a legacy of abuse.

Not to mention we all know of these peoples associations, none which that attended are not part of the club, so to speak. Dear Constance,

Perhaps you noticed in one of the articles I posted that I added several question marks to the following paragraph I quoted directly from the Max Planck website:

Following unanimous approval by the seven members of the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, for the first time in its 60-year history(???) Germany’s Max Planck Society has established an Institute in the United States. The truth of the matter is that the Max Planck society is merely the NEW NAME that was given to the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute around 1948. The Kaiser Wilhelm Society was founded in 1911.

The Kaiser Wilhelm Gesellschaft (KWG, Kaiser Wilhelm Society) was founded in 1911, based on plans drawn up by Friedrich von Altoff and Friedrich Schmidt-Ott on the instigation of Adolf von Harnack. The purpose of the KWG was to promote the sciences in Germany, specifically by founding and maintaining research institutions independent from the state. The institutions were to be under the guidance of prominent directors, which included luminaries such as Walther Bothe, Peter Debye, Albert Einstein, Fritz Haber, and Werner Heisenberg; a board of trustees also provided guidance. Funding was ultimately obtained from sources internal and external to Germany. Internally, money was raised from individuals, industry, and the government, as well as through the Notgemeinschaft der Deutschen Wissenschaft (Emergency Association of German Science.). External to Germany, the Rockefeller Foundation made contributions......http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaiser_Wilhelm_Institute

As history teaches us, and as I have shown on other threads, the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute did NOT remain completely independent of the Nazi state.

Moreover, as recently as 1998, KWI's sucessor, the Max Planck Institute was apparently still somewhat in denial about its own history.

Ironically, the three Kaiser-Wilhelm institutes that were beneficiaries of Rockefeller largesse were to eventually play important roles in the development, implementation and exploitation of the racial programs of the Third Reich including murderous experiments and the exploitation of the dead. Kaiser-Wilhelm scientists joined with the Nazi state in pursuit of the goal of improving the people's health (Volksgesundheit), the major emphasis being on eugenic and racial purification. The resulting collaboration between science and the Nazi state not only legitimized the policies and programs of the Hitler regime it resulted in the exploitation and mutilation and murder of untold thousands of innocent victims by physicians and scientists associated with some of the world's leading universities and research institutes. The participation of scientists associated with the Kaiser-Wilhelm Society enhanced the credibility of the Nazi state's program of scientific terror and murder (8).......Read more here:

P.S.

One of the articles I just quoted states that if there was a moral imperative in terms of the Max Planck Institute fessing up about its past, it is because of what it claims to represent today:

The half-century of delay into documenting its own history is of itself deserving of a public apology. The moral imperative is emphasized by the fact that the Max Planck Society today encompasses 81 institutes embracing such areas as human development, criminal law, and foreign and international private, public and social law.

The Max Planck Society is now more than an organization for basic or applied scientific research; it is also an organization with an explicit moral mandate to study the human condition.

In so doing, it also has a moral responsibility for its own actions, and those of its members, past and present.

What the Max Planck Society appears to continue to ignore, or avoid facing, is the fate of the victims, those who perished and those who survived. Given the fact that 59 years will have elapsed between the end of the Third Reich and the end of the mandate of the "Presidential Commission," few of the survivors will still be living. If a formal apology should be forthcoming few, if any, will be alive or capable of receiving it. By the time the Max Planck Society has recovered its own institutional memory, there will be few survivors who remember.

The esteemed scientist after whom Germany's foremost scientific organization is named would probably have been very distressed had he been aware of the behavior of scientists associated with the organization that now bears his name. Given his own example of moral recititude he most likely would have been dismayed by the behaviour of the leadership of that organization which for over one half century after the end of the war demonstrated moral amnesia and paralysis in addressing the questions of its own history and moral responsibility.....

Max Planck and his Society

Dear Susanna,

Your link, http://www.doew.at/thema/planck/
yielded some interesting history. More specifically:

http://www.doew.at/thema/planck/planck1.html

or:

http://tinyurl.com/qjzto4

This 2001 article shows that Planck elevated Einstein, the Jew, by bringing him to Berlin in 1914. Further, he stayed in Germany during WW 2 but opposed Hitler. The article says:

"Planck was admired not only as a great scientist but also as a moral and courageous individual. He criticized Hitler's racial policies to Hitler's face. Rather than flee Germany Planck remained in an attempt to salvage what was left of German physical sciences (after the war). And in the 9th decade of his life he agreed to again become president of Germany's preeminent research organization.

"While Planck the person is regarded with honor the same cannot be said of the organization that continues to bear his name."

The article describes the leadership changes that caused the society's moral fiber to deteriorate with the villian being Ernst Rüdin, who in 1928 became "director of a 'greatly expanded' genealogical department of what had become the Kaiser-Wilhelm Institute of Psychiatry. In 1931 he ascended to the leadership of the world's preeminent psychiatric research institute."

Also, ironically, Rudin was funded by a Jewish American, James Loeb, who, just before his death in 1933, donated $1 million. Quoting from the article again:

"After Hitler's rise to power, Rüdin became an active supporter of the eugenic and racial hygiene policies of Hitler's regime. He was an intellectual leader of the Nazi program of enforced eugenic sterilization entrenched under the 1933 Sterilization Law. He was honored twice by Hitler for his contribution to German eugenics (14).

"The 1933 Sterilization Law established diagnostic categories for enforced sterilization. Two of the categories were for psychiatric conditions first characterized by Kraepelin and investigated by Rüdin, namely schizophrenia and manic-depressive disorder (15). An estimated 400,000 German citizens qualified for sterilization under the law. This goal was achieved (16).

"The Kaiser Wilhelm Institute of Psychiatry under Rüdin became a major academic eugenic center during the Hitler period. It was to the psychiatric institute that doctors and the courts turned for an "expert" opinion on eugenic matters. It can be assumed that Rüdin, as an architect of the sterilization law did not support appeals against sterilizations ordered by the court. Rüdin was such an avid proponent of eugenic sterilization that his colleagues nicknamed him "Reichsfuhrer for Sterilization (17)."

Conclusion:
While Planck the person is regarded with honor the same cannot be said of the organization that continues to bear his name.

It is well worth reading the whole thing.

Dear Len,

You are absolutely correct about the article I posted AND about Max Planck.

In fact, Einstein reportedly built upon the old Quantum Theory originally postulated by Max Planck.

Besides being intellectually brilliant, Planck was a good, decent man whose good name was reportedly used to cover the Nazi-sponsored atrocities committed by some members of the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute in the time of the Third Reich.

All,
I posted this a couple of blogs ago, but given the subject matter it might be worth posting again:

http://wsany.tripod.com/id3.html

I just want to say that there is no doubt that Islam is a very "divided house" . There are those partly from the sufi movement, and others who are Sunni but claim to be moderate pursuing the interfaith dialogue.

The Jordanian and Saudi royal families are Sunni and not engaged in sufism. Sufism is certainly the mystical side of Islam that would permit it easily to "converge" with mystical practices within Christianity and Judaism, not to mention Hindusim, Buddhism, etc. but there are several different things going on at the same time, I believe.

There are those that pretend to be interested in "interfaith dialogue" but one must remember lying is an acceptable practice within Islam for the cause of global jihad. An organization like CAIR, which exploits US legal system to gain greater position and power would certainly fall into this column.

Common Word, again, is not predominately Sufi to my knowledge, but what most people don't realize is that Common Word relates to a chapter in the Quran that speaks of converting people to Islam. The average Christian leader who would sign such a document, or Jewish would not be aware of that.

I was shocked and amazed to see their "Christmas greeting" a few years back to the Christians that said: "in the name of Allah, his servant Mohamed and his servant Jesus".

Any Bible believer who signed the document was duped, to put it plain and simply. Some went back and tried to qualify their response, but they were had, plain and simple. Again, I use the story of Joshua and the Gibeonites, when Joshua failed to consult God and brought grave consequences on Israel for signing a covenant that God never asked him to sign. The Bible says, "from that day they were a thorn in the side of Israel".

I personally think it's a mistake to believe that Satan's house is very unified one. If Believers in the God of the Bible cannot always get along and agree, why should the children of darkness.

There are two issues here, and I think we might want to clarify them. One, how is the NA movement working in the world to bring deception, but also how does Islam work in the world to bring deception.

If one thinks that Muslims are fellow travelers on the same road, heading to the same destination, well then we have nothing to discuss.. If one things as I do, that Muslims have already bought into a lie, which is that the Quran is the final revelation, and our Bible has been distorted, then we can see that it doesn't really matter what form of deception is used .

I don't think Muslims are deliberately against the truth, but I do think they have bought into a lie. It's not astonishing to me at all that they can buy into other lies too, like sufism.. Some Muslims dabble in animism too. Andy and Berit Kjos have done a short article on this:

http://www.crossroad.to/articles2/Islam.htm

The Shiite branch of Islam, which the article does not got into detail about is the form of Islam practiced in countries like Iran. Countries like Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi all have significant Shiite populations, which is a problem for their Sunni rulers.

There is the form of radical Sunni Islam v.s Shiite. The Shiites would like to see the world under an Islamic Caliphate and will stir trouble in the Sunni nations that have kings. This is why very recently, one North African country cut diplomatic relations with Iran.

The players in Alliance of Civilizations like the Jordanians and the Saudis are committed to Islam. They have to be because if they aren't their monarchies would be easily overthrown. They are not sufis either, but they see the other branches of Islam as one, while wanting to preserve their positions and power.

I just want to point out that the situation in the Muslim world is a lot messier than most people think, but they will present a united face to the world. The annual hajj, where 2 million or so people go to Mecca is, and the other 4 pillars of Islam is how this "unity" is preserved.. but don't let anyone fool you. It's a divided house, and ultimately it will not stand.

From Tony Blair's site, I linked to this several weeks back:

http://www.ing.org/

I hope you are all outraged when you read it. Your kids cannot learn about the Bible in public schools, but they can learn about Islam. I had a friend who said she was forced to teach one month about the history of Islam and spent 2 days on the history of Christianity.. Here's their press release about the incident in NY:

ING STATEMENT ON ALLEGED TERRORIST PLOT IN NYC

For immediate release

(May 21, 2009) Islamic Networks Group (ING) congratulates local and national law enforcement agencies for their success in thwarting the alleged plot to bomb two Jewish institutions and shoot missiles at military planes. Harming places of worship of any religious group is strictly prohibited in Islam, and the Qur’an specifically mentions the duty to safeguard all houses of worship including synagogues (Qur’an, 22:40). ING points out that no political grievances can legitimize actions that are condemned by Islam; those that claim Islamic teachings to justify their immoral violent actions are committing a dual crime of attempting to harm others and acting in the name of a religion that they are misrepresenting.

ING also reminds the media and government officials that the actions of a few should not be used to stereotype or promote fear and prejudice towards an entire community.

ING is a national educational outreach organization that provides education about Islam and Muslims as well as other religions through interfaith panel presentations and dialogue. For more information or to schedule a presentation or panel discussion, contact ING Program Coordinator, Cyndee Goldstein at Cyndee@ing.org.

Now for those of you who would like to see original language information from Middle East out of Arabic and Farsi:

http://www.memri.org/

and for those of you who would like to see what the billions of euros that the EU donates to the Palestinian cause goes to too:

http://eufunding.org.uk/More_Information.html

http://tiny.cc/VIxdh

The AoC meetings are pure propaganda. The EU ministers involved know that they are aiding and abetting the development of a new generation of little terrorists, whose mothers send them to be shahada's so that the family can get into heaven, because in Islam there are no promises unless you die in the cause of jihad, then you can take members of your family and have 70 virgins.

a few Islamic teachings:

"Believers, take neither Jews nor Christians for your friends" (Surah 5:51)

"Fight against such as those to whom the scriptures were given [ Jews and Christians ] until they pay tribute out of hand and are utterly subdued."
( Surah9:29 )

"Muhammed is God's Apostle. Those who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers but merciful to one another" ( Surah 48:29 )

"The Day of Resurrection will not arrive until the Moslems make war against the Jews and kill them,
and until a Jew hiding behind a rock and tree and the rock and tree will say; "oh Moslem, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him" ( Sahih Bukhari 004.52.176 )

this coincides with a new program from the Tony Blair Faith Foundation. his new program is called "Face to Faith". it is specifically designed to target young people. we old people are too set in our ways to change. i guess that makes us terrorists....

I think you may have been right about Dr. Josef Mengele. Unless records of his membership in the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute were destroyed along with other KWI documents after the War, it is probably more correct to say that Mengele was the assistant of Otmar Verschuer who definitely was a member of the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute.

GPS and The Census: Have they come to your house yet?

Today they came to my house and I asked why the GPS? The volunteer said, 1) the satellite for this system has been up and ready for 2 years 2) The gov't is utilizing the GPS for accuracy and convenience for next years census takers 3) documenting information via GPS because there are those who do not return written census documents and this way they'll have the information if you are a homeowner, second/multi-homeowner, etc irregardless if the forms are returned or not". She said they were going down every tarred driveway, every dirt road, every remote homestead to GPS...then she added, you are already on Googles Sat., it's in your car and phone, now it's simply your house that has been linked with your information BUT it is all confidential. (Thank goodness for that LOL, I wouldn't want to think someone has all my information and can track my every movement - that would feel like an invasion of privacy - and I sure wouldn't want to inconvenience anyone either, Baa-Baa).

Einstein and Quantum Theory

When Albert Einstein listed the most important honors of his life, he began with the German Physical Society's Max Planck Medal, named for a physicist he revered. He went on from there to list the prizes and honorary doctorate degrees awarded him in many nations.

Conspicuously absent was the plaudit with the highest profile and payout: the Nobel Prize.

But in context this omission isn't so surprising. The Nobel nod — 17 years after Einstein published his special theory of relativity — came long after recognition by the physics world and even the general public. Even more bizarre, the prize was awarded to Einstein not for his relativity revolution, but for the comparatively obscure discovery of the photoelectric effect. Why?

After years of sifting through letters and diaries of the Scandinavian archives, science historian Robert Marc Friedman says it was an intentional snub fueled by the biases of the day—a prejudice against pacifists, Jews, and, most of all, theoretical physics.

In March 1905, Einstein created the quantum theory of light, the idea that light exists as tiny packets, or particles, which he called photons. Alongside Max Planck's work on quanta of heat Einstein proposed one of the most shocking idea in twentieth century physics: we live in a quantum universe, one built out of tiny, discrete chunks of energy and matter.

Next, in April and May, Einstein published two papers. In one he invented a new method of counting and determining the size of the atoms or molecules in a given space and in the other he explains the phenomenon of Brownian motion. The net result was a proof that atoms actually exist - still an issue at that time - and the end to a millennia-old debate on the fundamental nature of the chemical elements.

Even the minor works resonated. For example, in 1910, Einstein answered a basic question: 'Why is the sky blue?' His paper on the phenomenon called critical opalescence solved the problem by examining the cumulative effect of the scattering of light by individual molecules in the atmosphere.

In 1924 and 1925 Einstein still made significant contributions to the development of quantum theory. His last work on the theory built on ideas developed by Satyendra Nath Bose, and predicted a new state of matter (to add to the list of solid, liquid, and gas) called a Bose-Einstein condensate. The condensate was finally created at exceptionally low temperatures only recently.

Einstein always had a distaste for modern quantum theory - largely because its probabilistic nature forbids a complete description of cause and effect. But still, he recognized many of the fundamental implications of the idea of the quantum long before the rest of the physics community did. (In 'Albert Einstein: Creator and Rebel' by Hoffmann, the author describes that Max Planck himself was sceptical of his own quantum hypothesis which was highly distasteful to him and introduced merely as 'an act of desperation'. Between 1900 and 1905 the quantum concept remained in limbo. In all the world there seems to have been in those years only one man to dare take it seriously. That man was Einstein who immediately sensed the importance of Planck's work and used the idea in his own paper about the theory of light).
After the quantum mechanical revolution of 1925 through 1927, Einstein spent the bulk of his remaining scientific career searching for a deeper theory to subsume quantum mechanics and eliminate its probabilities and uncertainties. He generated pages of equations, geometrical descriptions of fields extending through many dimensions that could unify all the known forces of nature. None of the theories worked out. It was a waste of time ... and yet :
