A very busy day for Javier Solana - Dec. 2, 2008

I've got "fried brain syndrome" just looking at Javier Solana's calendar for Tuesday December 2, 2008. When I've got a day anywhere near it, I can only describe it as a "fried brain syndrome" one. Here's what today looks like:

Brussels:
  • 09:30Meeting with the Foreign Minister of Australia, Stephen Smith
  • 10:30Meeting with the Foreign Minister of Egypt, Ahmed Aboul Gheit
  • 11:30Meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Morocco, Taieb Fassi-Fihri1
  • 5:30Meeting with the Prime Minister of Slovenia, Borut Pahor and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Zbogar
  • 16:30Meeting with French Minister of Defence, HervĂ© Morin and visit of EU ESDP structures (Kortenberg building)
  • 17:20Meeting with the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Tzipi Livni1
  • 9:30EU-NATO transatlantic dinner

Glad it's his day and not mine. Anybody care to hazard a guess about what all the diplomatic and military activity is about?

Constance - It would be great to be the proverbial fly on the wall!! He will be moving the chess pieces around that big board with skill and dexterity, making his position ever more strategically secure - or so he thinks!
"A busy day for Javier..." but then he is a very "busy man". Take heart - our redemption surely is drawing ever nearer.

Nine Lambs A Minute Vanishing From New Zealand Farms

Federated Farmers Meat & Fibre Chair, Bruce Wills, has expressed deep concern at the collapse in lamb numbers to 27.3 million; 4.7 million or 15% less than last spring.

"During the election campaign much was made of the 40,000 New Zealanders who left for Australia. Yet the nine lambs a minute that have vanished from New Zealand farms over the last year should be of concern to every New Zealander," Mr Wills said.

Though the decrease in lamb numbers was expected, telegraphed by a Meat & Wool New Zealand forecast released earlier in the year, it is still further evidence of the desperate state of the New Zealand sheep meat sector. Sheep farmers are coming off their worst returns for almost five decades, with the average income for the past season being a mere $19,400.

"The sheep meat sector continues to suffer the flow-on effects from last summer's drought and other factors, such as changes in land use, as farmers have reviewed their options when it comes to earning a living from their farming operations," said Mr Wills.

I've been following many comments about the proposed North American Union frequently mentioned throughout this blog site. But, I came across some sites on the Internet claiming it is a myth or an urban legend. Lou Dobbs and Ron Paul have been outspoken on this issue. Here's one site "debunking" this myth.

I'm not sure what to believe.

Anonymous 9:53,

The first paragraph of that website has this sentence:

"The SPP is based on the principle that our prosperity is dependent on our security and recognizes that our three great nations share a belief in freedom, economic opportunity, and strong democratic institutions."

Anyone who knows Mexico's history should be appalled by that statement. The United States certainly has its problems, but it is nothing like Mexico.

LESS THAN THREE WEEKS BEFFORE SIGNING TREATY WITH ISRAEL ON NOVEMBER 20, 1995, SOLANA DID THIS

"erusalem Post

"0-29-1995

"DESPITE Israel's protest, a delegation of European Union (EU) ministers led by Spanish Foreign Minister Javier Solana visited Orient House in eastern Jerusalem Friday night.

"Prior to the visit, Foreign Minister Shimon Peres told the EU leaders that their decision to visit PLO headquarters in Jerusalem over Israeli protests was "bizarre."

"Peres met with Solana earlier Friday, who is in the region with Margi Soudre and Emannuele Scammaca, the deputy foreign ministers of France and Italy.

"Asked by reporters about the Troika's plans to visit the PLO headquarters, Peres said: "I'm not particularly happy about it."

"During the meeting, Peres told Solana, according to a Foreign Ministry statement: "The European position is asking for trouble and is particularly bizarre in the light of the massive majority by which the US Senate adopted the decision to move the US Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem."

"However, Solana did not yield, according to the ministry statement.

"'The European position on the matter of Jerusalem is known and will not change,' he told Peres.

Rabin's office quoted him as saying of the visit to Jerusalem PLO headquarters: "The address for relations between countries ... and the Palestinians is in the areas under the control of the Palestinian Authority and by no means Jerusalem."

Members of the delegation met with Palestinian personalities, led by Faisal Husseini, the top PLO official in Jerusalem, and discussed the situation in the city. The Palestinians asked the EU to back Palestinian rights in the city and to provide financial backing for Palestinian institutions in Jerusalem.

The Palestinians also protested the decision by the US Congress

to move its embassy, with Husseini saying the decision would hurt the peace process.

Following the meeting at Orient House, Solona expressed his satisfaction with the visit, and promised to continue visiting there during any future trips to the city.

Later, the EU delegation held talks with PLO head Yasser Arafat in of Gaza, where an agreement to give $300 million in loans on easy term to the PA was signed, a PLO official said.

"These funds will now be available to the Palestinian Authority to be used for big projects such as water, electricity and other commercial projects," said PLO Planning Minister Nabil Shaath.

"In his talks with the EU officials Friday, Rabin pushed for the body to reward Israel's peace partners Egypt, Jordan, and the Palestinians with free trade agreements.

"'Israel has free trade agreements with the European Union but there is no such agreement between the EU and Egypt, Jordan and the Palestinians," Rabin was quoted as telling the delegation, in a statement issued by his office.

"'The prime minister requested the Troika ministers examine this issue in order that all of the other partners in the region in the peace process can enjoy the fruits of peace," it said.

"Yesterday, Syrian President Hafez Assad discussed the stalled Syrian-Israeli peace talks and economic ties with the delegation in Damascus.

"Presidential spokesman Joubran Koureih said Foreign Minister Farouk Shara was present at the meeting.

"The EU team also discussed the European-Mediterranean conference in Barcelona on November 26-27.

"Both Syria and Israel will participate.

This might have already been posted, but I will post it again in light of Constance's remarks:

http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1042316.html

Right after the Nov 3-4 meeting for the Mediterranean Union, EU decided to not do business with the Israeli business operating in the West Bank, which I like to fondly refer to as Judea and Samaria.

The Palestinians are patrolling Hebron:

http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1028415.html

What does this tell us? The land is already being handed over.

In Jerusalem you can see Palestinian police on horseback....a very bizarre site indeed.

The EU has long given up on the Scriptures, so why should they care about what God calls the Land. If the US continues ( I say continues because they are already doing it) to follow in the EU and the UN's footsteps, things will not go well for our nation.

Occasionally it is a good idea to see what Lucis Trust is doing. Here is a site map.
http://lucistrust.org/en/content/view/sitemap/2/(view)/index

Of course they are not giving out information on all of their activities, and even on the site map there are things listed whose contents are hidden.

I don't think Units of Service has shrunk. The list given near the top of the site lists fewer than I have in an old booklet.

Why is it good to watch that group? Because a person will recognize the issues being focused on http://lucis.typepad.com/

Watching the New World Religion and other connected articles at the site will prepare a person to recognize the buzz words and themes. Changes do not come about instantly, but after much preparation.

It is noteworthy that the Friends of Egypt Group in the European Parliament was recently established by a number of European Parliamentarians, on top of them Deputy President of the Italian Parliament and French Former Prime Minister Michel Rocard and members of various political blocs. While your name is relatively new to me. I am happy to see some one care about the absence of others and their personal situations. This shows a compassion that our Lord calls us all to have. Thank you for sharing it. Just for the record though, I'm a peaches and cream kind of guy, but what else would you expect from a Fla Cracker who has found himself stuck in the Michigan winter. lol

My love and appreciation goes to all here who are posting and exposing what is really happening in our world. May His peace find you all in these troubling times.

Hello everyone,

I dropped by here yesterday after being away for over a week, and there is so much information on this site, that it would be impossible for me to catch up. So I’ve only filtered through what’s relevant to me.

To all,
I vowed not to post here again but in view of the friends that I still have here, I have decided to comment about some observations that I have made over the past day and a half.

Here goes:

OldManoftheSki- I just sent you an email. Since I know you mentioned that you only check your emails once or twice a week, I wanted to give you a heads up. Also, I hope you got a chance to ski last week! I totally agree with Paul that your 6:24 comment on the Mumbai thread was especially concise and exceptionally brilliant as well. In order to understand world events and the demonic roots of globalism, it's imperative for people to understand the occultic roots of the mystery religions that can be traced back to the very beginning. If anyone thinks that they can study the current New Age and yet ignore its very roots, they are deluding themselves.

Thanks Joyce for your very insightful biblical insights two threads back in your comments on the Mumbai tragedy thread. You are spot on in your spirit-filled biblical insights and I for one have finally (in the few short months that I have had the veil removed from my eyes) realized the connections of pagan mysticism into the practices of not only blatant New Agers, but also many Catholics, Protestants, as well as Jews who follow the Kabbalah, who have lost sight of the truth and have wandered down the paths of mysticism which God so adamantly warned us about time after time.

Wanted to also thank Rudi, too for her comment on the Mumbai link about the acorns. I did go out and check my oak tree and am happy to report that there's a ton of acorns in southwest Florida! So hopefully, it was a result of the weather in the Virginia area last spring, and not a foreshadowing of something more sinister.

To Paul- I hope by now you have determined who your real enemies are. If I were you I would tell the anonymous Catholic(s) here who refuse to sign a name to their posts against you that before they call Hal Lindsey a New Ager they might want to think twice about the mysticism practiced in their own churches. Catholics need only check out one of the links on the side bar of Constance's blog,- the link is called Herescope. Since Constance links to Herescope, we can assume that she probably agrees with the blog author's content. Here is a link to one of the past articles and the comments are also significant:

http://www.discernment-ministries.org/OpalReddin1.htm

Perhaps all the anonymous cowards on this blog who are so quick to point out the shortcomings of the evangelicals should look a little deeper into the mysticism practiced in their own churches and synagogues before pointing fingers at every evangelical who has ever been connected in any way, shape or form to Sun Myung Moon and his now defunct CRF.

How in the world is Hal Lindsey’s connection to the CRF any different from the late Pope John Paul the Second's overtures to the Dalai Lama? That's what I want to know.

If there's one thing I can't tolerate it's a hypocrite, and even though you called me some derogatory names, Paul, that I didn't provoke or deserve, but which I forgave you for nevertheless since you had obviously been deceived by the anonymous cowards on this blog, you are definitely not a hypocrite. I woke up the other night feeling more than a little upset at the way I was treated here recently, and the Lord reminded me to recite His prayer. I can forgive people their trespasses, but that doesn't mean I can't let them know what I think of their cowardice!

Susanna, I just found your comment directed at me quite a few threads back. Yes, I think I still have your email address. Is it still Eye of the Newt? I'd love to learn how you use italics in your comments here.

Constance,
You may want to install statcounter or something similar to it to this blogspot. Since I am sure that you don't want to disallow anonymous posters, it would at least put the trolls on notice that you can track them through their IP address. That way you yourself can identify who the trolls are here, and hopefully prevent the dreaded disinformation that we are so often warned about, as well as helping to prevent problems that have arisen with anonymous posters, and which I unwittingly became a part of thanks to that.

The link is :
http://www.statcounter.com

It's free and easy to install. You can use it to track the cell site connecting to each and every IP address of your blog’s visitors to within 50 feet. I've used it on my paint blog to monitor activity from all over the world. In your case, it would be an excellent tool to prevent trolls from inciting problems here.

To JD; I have wondered about your home and am very happy to here that all is quiet on the western front!

I totally expect to be attacked for this comment, because it challenges the people here who have been given a free reign to start trouble. That being said, since anonymous comments allow people the privilege to have courage that they would not necessarily have if they had signed their true names and identities to their posts, and gives them license to spread disinformation and uncharitable behavior, I think it's about time that someone took a stand here for the people who have been victimized by anonymous comments.

If the past is an indication of the future, I am sure that the perpetrators will not allow this comment to pass either .

But then again, since we all profess to be if not Christians, at least God fearing Jews, why should I think I would be attacked for simply taking a defensive posture against mysticism and trolls?

Anonymous said...

Dear Doug,
I'm praying for you. May God heal you quickly.

JD,
I'm so happy to hear that all is quiet at your home! God is so good!

Trolls and mysticism? I don't see any trolls here. Try talking ideas. There is mysticism in all religions, including Christianity. Christianity makes no sense if you take away the mystical ideas. Judaism makes no sense if you take away the mystical ideas. It's a matter of what mystical beliefs you have faith in. We can argue why people have faith in some and not in others.

By now you should have understood that the New Age movement is not just based on occult ideas. At some point there is a fusion between political beliefs and occult beliefs. Not all New Age politicians have faith in occult ideas and not all occultists have political ideas. It is pretty clear that the Obama campaign co-opted ideas from the occult, but it is a heck of lot more difficult to trace Obama's ideas to the occult stream going back thousands of years.

"I think", "I believe", "I hope", "I know". are not good substitutes for factual research. If you have a historical timeline, produce it.

Dorothy

Anonymous said...

Maryanne,
Glad to see you back. You are right. Mysticism and Biblical faith do not go hand and hand.

Dorothy,
If you stand for mysticism, you have to be careful when criticizing New Agers. As soon as we delve into the realm of esoteric we are in trouble I will define esoteric so as to leave no doubt to what I mean:

es⋅o⋅ter⋅ic   [es-uh-ter-ik] Show IPA Pronunciation
–adjective
1. understood by or meant for only the select few who have special knowledge or interest; recondite: poetry full of esoteric allusions.
2. belonging to the select few.
3. private; secret; confidential.
4. (of a philosophical doctrine or the like) intended to be revealed only to the initiates of a group: the esoteric doctrines of Pythagoras.

Kabbalah meets the definition of esoteric.

As for all religions having mysticism, this might be so...The New World Religion will use the mystical elements of the major religions to draw them together. Because we cannot rationally explain mystical and we bypass the mind it will be much easier to build mystery Babylon tapping into the mystical sects of Christianity, Judaism, Islam etc... You can see this being implemented already by H.E. Benedikt in the Jerusalem Academy but he is not the only one doing it. I'll send you a long list when I have some time.

Dorothy,
If you are familiar with it, then I'm surprised to see you defending the esoteric practices of Kabbalah, which the Lubavitchers participate in.

There are many things that Jews do that I think are perfectly Biblical and do not at all go against Torah..There are many wonderful rabbinic commentaries on the Scriptures that I learn a lot from, but the practice of Kabbalah is clearly a no no. The Torah itself is not mystical. There may be mysteries, but not mysticism.. big difference.

God is mysterious at times. There are many things about God we cannot explain.. for example why the shedding of blood is required for the forgiveness of sin...I know that life is in the blood, but why does God require it to be shed? That is a mystery that we can't explain.

God does not ask us to engage in mystical practices, in fact when Nadab and Abihu offered "strange fire" they were killed instantly.

Here's a Lubivitcher commentary that to me is way off:

http://www.chabad.org/parshah/article_cdo/aid/2869/jewish/Consumed.htm

The plain sense of the text is very simply, the offered something they were not supposed to. We can twist God's Word to mean anything that we want, but it means what it means and Nadab and Abihu offered something forbidden, most likely engaging in some kind of mystical practice that the surrounding pagan nations engaged in..and yes, maybe they had too much wine..

When you enter into the holy place you cannot do it any old way. We serve a God who is kedosh...Mysticism makes a mockery of all of the instructions that God has given us in His Torah.

There is no way into the Holy of Holies, except with the blood of the ultimate high priest Yeshua HaMashiach that was shed for us which gives us access to the mercy seat in Heaven.. As you well know, the Temple was destroyed in 70 a.d. and all the mitzvahs in the world do not give a Jew the right to come into the presence of God. . The rabbis can say all they want about good works, the Scriptures don't say this.

Without the High Priest's sacrifice on the day of Atonement the nation of Israel would have no access to God..if it were not for the ultimate High Priest, who gave His own life as a ransom for many.

There is no mysticism in this at all. When Abraham went to slay Isaac and Isaac asked his father where the sacrifice was, he responded. this is what Abraham responded:

Gen. 22:8 Abraham said, “God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” So the two of them walked on together.

....and God certainly did. His provision was in Yeshua. . There is nothing mystical about this at all. There is no Temple, no sacrifice, but God would not leave His people without a means of atonement.
He provided the lamb and the Lamb of God is Yeshua.

The two "anonymous" posters (who also happen to be Catholic) have been posting on Constance's blog for a long time.

Therefore, the label, "troll" does not apply.

Also, they are very much aware that the New Age Movement does not discriminate and has infiltrated both the Catholic

Therefore, the label "hypocrite" also does not apply.

Because you wrap the mantle of God's words around you and interpret them as you wish, very few will speak the truth to you. Who would dare criticize someone who calls herself God's spokesman. I am re-posting a wonderful contribution from Susanna on the 22 November thread, which many of you may have missed not realizing the thread was still active.

________________________________

One of the things that we Christians need to remind ourselves of is our belief that the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is a historical fact.

This was the miracle that Jesus promised as proof beyond a reasonable doubt that He is not only truly man but also truly God.

It was St. Paul who so rightly pointed out that if the Resurrection didn't really happen then we Christians above all men are to be pitied.

Certain irreligious folks and neo-modernists scoff at the word "proof."

I think it was dissenting theologian Hans Kung who joined the scoffers regarding the "five proofs" for the existence of God postulated by St. Thomas Aquinas in the Summa Theologica.

But it was the late great Mortimer J. Adler who clarified things for me by pointing out that there is a difference between "proving" religious verities beyond a reasonable doubt ( as is done in a court of law by weighing the evidence and presenting powerful arguments ) and "proving" something beyond the shadow of a doubt. (i.e. the actual experience of the Beatific Vision ).

After the Resurrection, the Apostles could have broken ranks. They were scattered far and wide and could have very easily told their persecutors that the Resurrection story was something they made up.

But with the exception of St. John the Evangelist all the Apostles - eyewitnesses of the Risen Lord - died hideous deaths of torture for the sake of the Gospels which announced the "Good News" of our salvation vis a vis the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

As for St. John the Evangelist, the reason why he is not a "red martyr" is because according to some accounts when the Roman authorities were about to put him to death (by boiling him in oil) he was miraculously delivered - after which the Roman authorities exiled him to Patmos.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boiling_to_death

I can only speak for myself, but I would have enough of a hard time dying for something I knew to be true and would need the Holy Spirit to powerfully strengthen my will in preparation for such a calling.

I certainly couldn't endure being tortured to death for something I knew to be a lie.

It boggles my mind to think that for about the first three hundred years of Christianity the blood of the martyrs served as the "seed of the Church." (Tertullian)

Ergo,

For I know that my Redeemer liveth
And that he shall stand in the last days upon the earth
And though worms destroy this body
Yet in my flesh I shall see God

That is what faith is all about. You, given free will, need to have the opportunity to have faith where you will. It is not important for anyone to have faith in what you have faith in. If 1000 people do not have faith in what you have faith in, it doesn't mean you are wrong and they are right. And it doesn't mean what they have faith in is wrong.

The world of religion is not the world of science where tests are measured and challenged. The world of religion is based on faith in believing things that have happened hundreds and thousands of years ago, believing that there is a continuity that makes sense. If it makes sense to you, you'll have faith in it. If it doesn't make sense to someone else, they won't have faith. It is no reflection on a person's intellect if they don't have faith in what you have faith in.

If everyone could grasp that idea, there would be no war between religious followers.

I should add that religious ideas should affect politics only indirectly. For instance, there are many strictly logical reasons why the anti-homosexual, pro-life, anti-adultery, anti-New Age ideas etc. will affect the community positively. While it may be a shortcut to point out that these ideas come out of one's religious belief system, that method shouldn't work because of the baggage it carries with it. There is no reason why supporters of certain ideas such as those above shouldn't work to research and support their beliefs if they truly believe that what they have faith in is true.

Wrapping oneself in the ideas of one's religion only leads to fights between believers which will never bring the community to moral ideas.

Dorothy,
God loves you so much, He sent Yeshua to die for you...but you probably don't know that...

Gen. 1:1 ¶ In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Gen. 1:4 God saw that the light was good (tov); and God separated the light from the darkness.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word , and the Word was with God, and the Word was God;
John 1:2 this one was in the beginning with God;
John 1:3 all things through him did happen, and without him happened not even one thing that hath happened.
John 1:4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men,
John 1:5 ¶ and the light in the darkness did shine, and the darkness did not perceive it.
John 1:6 There came a man — having been sent from God — whose name [is] John,
John 1:7 this one came for testimony, that he might testify about the Light, that all might believe through him;
John 1:8 that one was not the Light, but — that he might testify about the Light.
John 1:9 He was the true Light, which doth enlighten every man, coming to the world;
John 1:10 in the world he was, and the world through him was made, and the world did not know him:
John 1:11 to his own things he came, and his own people did not receive him;
John 1:12 but as many as did receive him to them he gave authority to become sons of God — to those believing in his name,
John 1:13 who — not of blood nor of a will of flesh, nor of a will of man but — of God were begotten.
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and did tabernacle among us, and we beheld his glory, glory as of an only begotten of a father, full of grace and truth.

Who is the Light Dorothy? If you don't know the answer to that question...even if God loves you, you might not see in the darkness.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Just as Abraham offered up his "one and only son" so did God offer up His one and only Son...

God loves us because we are created in His image, but we still need redemption.

...and to the one who thinks I'm being condescending to Dorothy, seems to me you don't want Dorothy to see the connections between Torah and Yeshua. That's all that I was pointing out in my comment. If you call that condescending then I would tell you to take a look at the comment and ask yourself the question, "now why would she do that?" Is it that I just delight in copying Bible verses on a blog? ( well yes I sort of do...I love the Scriptures in case you didn't notice)

I don't write to put people down.. I write to lift up God and His Word. Most of the words are not my words, but His Words.. When you accuse someone of having bad motives to "defend" someone else, it has a veneer of looking righteous, but then is it really? If I am doing wrong, why don't you let God show me, or did He appoint you to play the Holy Spirit?

Are you really worried that Dorothy is incapable of speaking for herself ? Motives are very important..

If you don't think it's good to point out Yeshua in the Torah, then I would say you need to go back and read the comments carefully too and try to understand.

I'll pray that God opens the eyes of your understanding too. I would NEVER use the Scriptures to be condescending, but I do hope the Living Word of God can speak to someone, not my words, but God's Word.

Nothing gets through to Joyce. Obviously posting her sermonettes provides some sort of psychological release for her. Perhaps we should go back to being charitable toward her. As I said to anonymous, there are really bigger things on my mind then petty discussions about whether I'm a bully or this or that...Don't have time in my schedule to worry about remarks like that.

There's an incredible amount of security knowing who I am in Messiah Yeshua...which may seem bizarre to you, but it really is the source of my shalom.. I figure there's going to be a large percentage of the population at any given time who doesn't like me ( this is true for lots of people), but I have a wonderful family, some really dear friends and most importantly an awesome God, whose promises are amen and amen..and that is probably my biggest source of comfort in life.. so you like me, you don't like me...what can I say? ..your loss...I am an exceptionally loyal friend and filled with the love of Messiah....even if my posts can be long...

One of the great secrets of life is when your identity is not determined by people's opinions, but by the spiritual reality of God's Word...what a gift that is! I feel so blessed.

Hope you have a wonderful Shabbat rest! No hard feelings, really...

A Merry Happy Christmas season to you. May it last through the coming month and through the years to come. May your family, friends and love of God support you in all the days of your life.

Dorothy,
Thank you, but truthfully, I don't celebrate Christmas. I celebrate Chanukah, and I imagine you do too..

Hope you have a wonderful Chanukah as you celebrate the miracle of God's miraculous provision for His people.

Most people don't know this, but Yeshua went to the Temple at Chanukah too. In our English translation they call it the Feast of Dedication. Look what He said:

John 10:22-30 At that time the Feast of the Dedication took place at Jerusalem; it was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple in the portico of Solomon. The Jews then gathered around Him, and were saying to Him, “How long will You keep us in suspense? If You are the Christ ( Mashiach) , tell us plainly.” Jesus ( Yeshua) answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe; he works that I do in My Father’s name, these testify of Me.“But you do not believe because you are not of My sheep. “My sheep ahear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give aeternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.“I and the Father are one.” ( echad) ( Shema Y'israel Adonai Eloheynu, Adonai echad) Hear O Israel the Lord is God, the Lord is One.

Who says, believers in Yeshua can't celebrate Chanukah. It's the first time that He announced His
Deity. That's another cause for celebration...He was making a clear distinction between Himself and Antiochus Epiphanes, who defiled the Temple..

We celebrate the mo'ed ( God's appointments for those who don't understand this word) and Chanukah and Purim. ( these are not mo'ed, but important celebrations of times in the history of the Jews, where God provided miraculous deliverance. Had He not done this, Yeshua would not have had a Jewish people to be born into. They would have been wiped out. This is soooo important. God preserved our people to accomplish all of His redemption plan. ( this is not for you Dorothy, you know all this, but for the others on the blog)

We are well aware that many Christians enjoy celebrating Jewish holy days and many Jews have Channukah bushes and exchange gifts.

It is getting so confusing that even the White House sent out invitations to a White House Channukah party with a picture of the White House Christmas tree on the front. When questioned the spokesman for the American Jewish Committee said it didn't bother him when he received his. Later a new invitation with a picture of a Menorah on the front was sent out.

A Happy Channukah season to you. May it last through the coming month and through the years to come. May your family, friends and love of God support you in all the days of your life.

Dorothy,
I'm more Jewish than you are. Look:

Matt. 2:2 “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”

They mocked Him too:
Matt. 27:11 ¶ aNow Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor questioned Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?” And Yeshua said to him, “It is as you say.”

Matt. 27:29 And after twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand; and they knelt down before Him and mocked Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”

Matt. 27:37 And above His head they put up the charge against Him which read, “THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

But you won't be the first one to criticize Him and His followers:

The Bible calls His Jewish followers, Jews..
John 8:31 ¶ So Yeshua was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine;

You won't be the first Jew to reject Yeshua though.

Look what happened to Stephen when he was being stoned to death..

Acts 7:51 ¶ “You men who are stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears are always resisting the Holy Spirit; you are doing just as your fathers did. “Which one of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? They killed those who had previously announced the coming of the Righteous One, whose betrayers and murderers you have now become; you who received the law as ordained by angels, and yet did not keep it.” Now when they heard this, they were cut to the quick, and they began gnashing their teeth at him. But being afull of the Holy Spirit, he gazed intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing cat the right hand of God;
And he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened up and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” But they cried out with a loud voice, and covered their ears and rushed at him with one impulse. When they had adriven him out of the city, they began stoning him; and bthe witnesses claid aside their robes at the feet of da young man named Saul. They went on stoning Stephen as he acalled on the Lord and said, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!” Then afalling on his knees, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” Having said this, he fell asleep.

Take heart. Shaul/Paul didn't get it at first either, but Yeshua blinded him on the road to Damascus.

but one day..
Zech. 12:10 ¶ “I will apour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, 1the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have bpierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one cmourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn.

In our day, many Jews are recognizing their Jewish Messiah..and they are staying Jews. They don't convert to another "religion".. They are descendants of the House of Judah, Benjamin or Levi and they just believe in Yeshua.

The problem with you is that you have bought into the propaganda of the rabbis instead of the Word of God..and this is why you don't believe it's possible for a Jew to believe in Yeshua...I know who I am, but if you don't turn towards Him you will miss out on a great redemption.

I keep telling you Dorothy, don't believe everything the rabbis tell you. Remember how stiff-necked our people were. They've killed the prophets, turned from God's Word, been sent into exile and still haven't come back because they were stiff-necked....and many rejected the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.. Wouldn't want you to be one of those people.

If we reject Yeshua, we have rejected a great salvation, and there is no redemption for us...

Look at what the writer of Hebrews says:

Heb. 10:28-29 Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

That was a letter written to Jews..

The sheep need watering...Dorothy. That's why the stone was rolled away: ( Today's Torah portion)

VaYetze:
Gen. 29:3 When all the flocks were gathered there, they would then roll the stone from the mouth of the well and water the sheep, and put the stone back in its place on the mouth of the well.

The stone was "rolled away" but are the sheep listening? His sheep, hear His voice.

Mark 16:3-4 They were saying to one another, “Who will roll away athe stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?” Looking up, they *saw that the stone had been rolled away, although it was extremely large.

p.s. Dorothy, you right about one thing...It's confusing out there. Personally, I'm not big on the Chanukah bush stuff...that's an American thing because the Jews felt like they need to compensate for not having Christmas.

In Israel, they put Christmas decorations in their sukkah which is festive. . Yeshua was born at Sukkot, so I can understand the confusion, but Christmas decorations in a sukkah.. well they're kind of pretty...and think about it...you have the wood, the tree.....I can see the connection, kind of...

I don't use the chanukah bush for this reason:

Jer. 10:2 Thus says the LORD,
“Do not learn the way of the nations,
And do not be terrified by the signs of the heavens
Although the nations are terrified by them;

Jer. 10:3 For the customs of the peoples are delusion;
Because bit is wood cut from the forest,
The work of the hands of a craftsman with a cutting tool.
Jer. 10:4 “They decorate it with silver and with gold;
They fasten it with nails and with hammers
So that it will not totter.

Joyce,

Despite the ugliness of your Antisemitism, the Lord loves you nonetheless.

May He bless you, and keep you, and guide you each day.

Anonymous said...

Dorothy,
What antisemitism? I am not one little ounce antisemitic, not even a speck.. The fact is that many of my people accepted Yeshua and the Jewish leadership of Yeshua's day rejected Him...but they didn't reject only Him, they rejected His Father. That's not antisemitism, that's historical fact..He forgave them for it by the way. Yeshua's dying words were "Father forgive them..." Yeshua preached to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you..

and yes, I know that the Lord loves me....just as I'm sure He loves you too. I'm sorry if you interpreted anything as antisemitic, but remember I am a Jew, and I'm not at all against myself or my people.. On the contrary, I pray that God will open their eyes..and in our day, as we are getting closer to the end..

I understand the history of the Jews being called "Jesus-killer" but I don't believe that the Jews killed Yeshua, I believe He laid down His life freely for the whole world....It happens that many Jews followed Him..they even wanted to crown Him king, but it wasn't time..The second time He comes He'll come as a King, instead of Messiah ben Joseph, the suffering servant..

I do think since He did that freely, we ought to be grateful for His amazing sacrifice that He did out of love for us.. but each one must decide that by themselves.. Praying for you! and one more time..I love my people the Jewish people, more than you can imagine.. My family were killed for being Jews...and nothing grieves me more than knowing this history. For centuries my family was persecuted as I imagine yours was...so I am NOT AT ALL Anti-semitic. I feel sad that Jews have been treated so badly just because they are Jews, but this is also part of our history.

HaSatan doesn't want the Jewish people and the whole of Israel to be restored, because this is God's redemption plan, so I do understand the spiritual roots of anti-Semitism. It's spiritual blindness..

ANONYMOUS (not a comment to Joyce)

Joyce doesn't seem to understand the implication of her negative views toward the religion of Judaism as it exists today, as opposed to what she is sure God wishes it to be. Her views have a powerful grip on her emotions, and though she is very intelligent, she cannot seem to control her emotions.

There is a parallel between her views and the views of the New Age leadership who say they only want to see a perfected Christianity, or Muslims who say they want to see a perfected Christianity.

Somewhere she was sold on the idea of Messianic Judaism. Like many true believers in various religions, she cannot tolerate the idea that just maybe what she believes is not the final word. This occurred in earlier history when Christians could not tolerate the idea that Jews would not convert as a group to Christianity. At first there was an open arms approach. When the open arms approach was rejected, some members of the Christian community became violent, leading to physical attacks on the Jewish community. There are some people who cannot tolerate being frustrated.

Martin Luther was one of these. At first he expected mass conversions to his "perfected" version of Christianity. When this didn't happen, he became very antisemitic.

It's impossible to know in advance what direction Joyce will go. It is obvious she gets frustrated easily. She is not content to personally live with her religious choice, but feels the necessity to convert Jews.

We can't know what is happening in her personal life, so I think now it's just best to let her vent, kind of let the steam out. Some Christian readers here support here, but I don't think there will be a pogrom as long as everyone stays on their side of the computers.

To Dorothy (Not a comment to Joyce)

Your observations are both charitable and wise and I will keep them in mind.

Because you are the only declared Jew who posts here you are a lightning rod for Joyce's inflammatory comments. I don't see it as anything "personal" against you.

We can only hope that Joyce, who is otherwise intelligent and talented, will "outgrow" this need to flame non-converted Jews.

In the meantime, if you are able and willing, I think it's important that you continue to set the record straight when she engages in this flaming since no one else here is either qualified or otherwise willing to do so.

So long as I am around, I will continue to take a stand against antisemitism when I see it at this discussion board. Since the readership here changes all the time, I see this as a vital contribution for newcomers who aren't aware of the content of some of Joyce's previous comments. I can only hope others will do the same.

Dorothy,
Listen I'm not stupid enough to think I can convert you, or anyone else for that matter.. I understood that before I ever wrote my first comment on this blog, so don't worry..

If I share my faith with you, it's because I pray that one day the Ruach HaKodesh will take the truths of Scripture and plant them on your heart..

Having said that...I'm not frustrated at all because I'm not God, that I have that kind of power over anyone.. I do love His Word and will happily proclaim it 24/7,not just to you but to anyone, but the ultimate responsibility of what people do with it is theirs, not mine..

Jews are supposed to be a light to the world not to keep there beliefs to themselves..that's modern Judaism..God's plan was to be glorified through His people. A lamp should not be hidden but should be somewhere, where it gives light.. Paul was a good example of this..

Anyway, you got me started when you didn't like my Mumbai comments.. I suspect I will make other comments on this blog that you don't like either, so respond at your own risk...what can I say? I have a habit of answering remarks..

Thanks for your concern about my personal life, which is quite good. I do feel extremely blessed because God has been good to me in so many ways I can't even begin to explain...I hope everything in your personal life is going well too..
